You are right that God is the one to judge us for all we do here on this earth, both good and bad, but how can you just sit there and say that your spirit is protected from the wrath of God? No one is protected from the wrath of God. That’s why I believe in God and Jesus, pray, go to church, read the Bible, and try to live how he says we should. If you believe differently than I do, that’s OK for you. Also, it is also my right as an American to do that. I remember when I took the citizenship test in July, we had questions on the First Amendment. So are you trying to say that I cannot worship or practice my beliefs without any interference? Are you trying to deny me my rights as a Christian and a new proud American? I may not know anything about your life, but we are to pray for others and that’s what I’m going to do. You seem to be pretty knowledgeable with the Bible when it came to defending gays and their rights, so how aren’t you well rehearsed? Once again Samurai, you can dismiss the obvious and just settle with the ignorant bliss of your radical Christian beliefs and say everyone else is ruining the nation, but your word is about as true as the flying spaghetti monster himself. In November, my vote will cancel yours out, and I do my very best every day to help the people around me see life for what it really is and understand life is not black and white and that the true light is seen in your actions, not your bigoted words. And no matter what you believe, in no way shape or form will you have any impact on anyone elses’ freedoms, Gay or Straight, and in no way shape or form will a life mean any less or be any more un-American just because you think it is. You can call other peoples’ beliefs Un-American, but the beauty of this country is that they matter just as much as yours and they have a right to voice their opinions as loud as they want. You have a very narrow-minded view of what is American and what it means to be an American. I sure as Hell don’t go to church on Sunday. I volunteer on Sunday morning at a shelter. And help people. Real people. Because, I believe, in this world, people take priortiy of any religious belief because humanity is all that we have. You can think Gays or Liberals have no sense of right and wrong and that they’re out to corrupt this country, but unlike you, I don’t make up my mind about an entire group of people just because of one aspect about them. I realize every human being is unique and that no two Christians or Gays or Conservatives or Liberals is exactly alike, and I interpret them based on their actions and their merit on an individual basis, not as a group, and not because of their private beliefs or what they may do in their private life behind closed doors, since that’s none of my business and it shouldn’t be yours either. I value traits like honesty and integrity and responsibility and honor just as much as any Christian does. As a matter of fact, they may mean even more to me because I don’t need some religious diety to dictate why I do those things, I’m just a good person by my own accord and I make decisions with my own heart. I know you disagree, save your breath. You and your wife have said a lot of things these past few days on this discussion board as I have and I don’t think it’s made any difference. I’m only empowered by what you have to say, and it’s probably the same on your end as well. I know that there’s more work that needs to be done to fight hate out there just because of what I’ve seen here. And I will continue to be involved in my community and work to contibute to the greater good with my American ideals no matter what you or anybody else has to say about it. My husband and I have watched this video and it is very biased towards the atheists. It denounces eveything about Christianity and atheists have no advantages over the ways we live. You say that these are the ideals of the upcomming generation? Sorry, but you are mistaken. Our 4 children and 3 nieces act differently than in this biased video. They go to church, pray, and live a God-like life. Believe what you want to believe, but we both know the truth. Okay (I’m a heterosexual). So how in any way shape or form does a person’s natural inclination to be gay harm ANYONE ELSE? And I do say “natural inclination” because that’s exactly what it is for a VAST majority of Gay people. Afterall, who in their right mind would want to just be Gay in this society? The reason it’s pushed as such an important issue is because they have no other choice, and no person should have to change who they are just to satisfy a bunch of zealous bible quoting bigots. And don’t get me wrong, freedom of religion is a founding principle of this country and I believe everyone has a right to exercise it freely. However, I believe it has no place in government, and obviously there’s a LOT of spillover… the life of a Gay person should not be influenced by somebody else’s personal religious beliefs. Gays rights “are” civil rights issues because they “are” people just as much as any standard heterosexual Joe Schmoe. Would you want to be denied the right to marry the most important person in the world to you because your neighbor thinks “your” inclination is “unnatural and amoral?” Quoting the bible is no argument–if you want to make a legitimate agrument, put your bible away and take out the Constitution. The Media gives gays a bad rep when they publicize Gay Pride parades because you see half-naked crossdressers waving rainbow flags. THIS IS NOT A THE FACE OF ALL GAY PEOPLE. Nobody wants to be spoken for, and “normal” Gay people are obviously very quiet about themselves and don’t push extreme agendas or make a huge fuss; they only want to live peacefully, as they are, equal to everybody else.

Our founding fathers put in the part about the separation of Church and State specifically to prevent any Religion from becoming the ruling one. Some fled England to get away from the corruption of the Church.
How can some Religions shoot down the Book of Mormon as being written by a crack pot when the Bible could have been written by crack pots also. We have absolutely no proof of anything either way. It Is strictly faith that we believe in the Bible, not any concrete proof.
If you really want to know what God’s Intentions are, then look at Nature, for it can not choose or lie. Since there are plenty of animals that are “gay” and never procreation, then there is no doubt that God made gay people, and their purpose probably is to keep mankind from over population the World as we are doing now. We have stopped or reduced most of Nature’s (God’s) way of keeping the population in check, so maybe God has decided to curb mankind’s over population in a way that man can not easily interfercwith. And remember, the King James version of the Bible was translated to King James specifications, not to literal and true translation of the original texts. The current version of all Religious “Textbooks” are written to the specifications of those that were in power at the time of the last translations.
Without being able to read and understand the original texts, we don’t know what the truth may be.
After finding out that some of the texts have been translated differently at different times, I chose not to believe anything written by man as coming from God. I believe in what I see in Nature as God’s true Intentions over what has written been by any man.

As long as it says in the Bible that it is wrong, that’s what I’ll believe. I’ve never heard of gay animals and think you just made that up. If not, please cite your references and let me look them up. I’m also not a Catholic, but I am Protestant. God didn’t create gay people and you cannot prove that, so please don’t bother me with things that are hopelessly false and without fact. Being gay is not natural and is wrong in God’s eyes. To say it any other way may be your right, but that doesn’t make it right. You act like it is your right to choose, but it isn’t. You sound like that you want the real Christian to fall for the mainstream conventional twisted teaching that the moral of Sodom and Gomorrah had to do with hospitality in a harsh desert like environment. This is homosexual nonsense! This is just some of the sickness that is infesting this country. What rubbish you print on this site! You are also distorting our choice of free will and freedom to choose. It is actually the doctrine of free will and freedom to choose means “TO SERVE OUR GOD OR NOT SERVE OUR GOD” and nothing else. You’re simply saying that it is their right to do this or that it is DNA based, then you know absolutly nothing about what you say. The DNA arguement has been disproven many years ago. No, God didn’t make some people gay to control population, he did it by saying wait till you are married. Can you tell me the evidence and facts that you have to back up what you are saying? Please answer my questions and no left leaning things either. Thank you.

You offer absolutely no evidence that gays are pushing some sort of radical agenda on the American people, and they’re not. Second, you’re grouping them all universally into the same group and you of all people cannot speak for Gays. They only want their God-given rights to walk this Earth as equals with everyone else. Also, you make it sound like people like you are some huge majority: you and every other bible-quoting right wing conservative homophobe are a MINORITY. Americans are predominately moderate, and that’s why most sensible human beings don’t hate on Gay people just because of one aspect about them. All that matters is that they are successful contributing members to society that fit in with everybody else, and if you have a problem with the person they love, then that’s just too bad. AND, somebody’s Gay private life does not affect you and, if you believe in God which you do not have to in this country by any measure, you need to let God judge people for their actions and stop trying to be a middle man. All the time, social conservatives think they’re somehow preserving the sanctity of marriage by denying Gays the right to marry, and I have to laugh when I know how hypocritical that argument is… there is a divorce rate of 50%+ in this country, how on God’s green earth is that sanctified? I don’t know how denying somebody else their rights somehow makes yours more special. You cling so strongly to religion to make any argument and that is a critical flaw. I don’t care if you believe in God: if you did, maybe you wouldn’t question his authority when he made Gay people as they are. They have a right to exist here and they can do as they please. A lot of blood has been shed to preserve the principles that allow them to live here and not be some kind of hated scum. You’re wrong: if you’re an American at heart and you respect American values of civility and respect and hard work, you are welcome here.

I will also say Sook, going to Don’s comment, LOL! Also, you said you wanted us to get a little more in touch with our roots like our forefathers originally had planned for us. If you really meant that, go throw away your computer and burn your voter registration materials, since the founding fathers also believed women had no voice in government and were to be seen and not heard. LOL! And quit telling people they’re childish, it’s annoying and I think the basis of any of your arguments are childish and invalid.

Sorry Matt, but you are wrong. The gays in this country aren’t an official minority, they are a minority in their beliefs and immoral lifestyle. They aren’t based on religion, skin tone, or nationality, so they aren’t an official minority. Second, the reason I say that they are pushing their ways onto us are seen in many ways. Like this absurdly ignorant arguement of how they want “equal rights” as any other American. Can you tell me which rights have been taken from them? I have freedom of speech, religion, right to vote, bear arms, etc, don’t they have the same? Since this being true, your point of them wanting equal rights is factually unsound and is nothing more to me than nonsense. They also try to push their agenda by loving in public, doing strange things in public, wierd dress, etc, what about that? Many things that some of them do are against any decency laws written by any state government. Do they really think that they can disobey the law for these purposes and get away with it? The only answer is no. Thirdly, you try to sound patriotic about how many Americans shed their blood so I can live here. I know my husband was wounded twice in Iraq, so I know first hand about an American spilling his blood for freedom, but your statement doesn’t bear merrit. This nation is a Christian nation and such actions by the gays are neither wanted nor will be tolerated in this society. I know that some people except the gays and their lifestyle, but as Christians we do not except their lifestyle as anything but a sin in the eyes of God. I don’t hate the person, just what they do, as God says to do. Tell me what have they done for this country? I mean really done for this country other than be one of the causes for the eroding of our moral foundings and teaching? Please state your facts and sources. Thank you.

Well Sook, what it all boils down to is if you believe your Christian religion, a set of ideals and beliefs that is not scientifically sound or proven such as the existance of God, should have a place in government and in society. You have no problem with pushing your religious beliefs on other people even though they’re only as real as people make them. How ’bout you answer a question for me: Why is it okay for you to tell other people how they should live their lives and what is right and wrong? (Try responding without using God as your crutch.)

All I said was how I believe and am not pushung my faith on you. The same could be said about you believes which are factually unsound, no sources to back them up, and is nothing but unproven rhetoric from through the years. If you believe differently than I do, so be it. Just remember, there is no separation of church and state here and science has nothing to do with the subject at hand. Matt, Good post! I would say, however, the constitution doesn’t say God gave us our freedoms. The Bill of Rights just says “Congress shall make no law” respecting, abridging or infringing on them.

What does Romans 1 versus 26 – 28 tell us about the gays? You can’t use the Bible to advance the gay cause, it doesn’t work that way. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!
