It amazes me how you can feel good about painting Liberals with such a broad brush. How do you know my religious convictions? I can be a good, solid Christian and still defend the rights of other religions as guaranteed by our Constitution. I can question Glen Beck’s motives without being a communist. A recent poll by the Public Religion Research Institute and Religion News Service found that fewer than 20% of Americans felt Beck was the right man to lead a religious movement. Are the other 80%+ all godless heathens?

If you want to make a point, fine. If you believe that the Illuminati are out to rule the world, that’s your choice. You can believe whatever you want based on your research, but you know little or nothing about my personal faith.

No doubt, BrotherPatriot, that there are many who think One-World-Government would solve our problems. That is indeed some major fantasizing, considering that a large portion of the population can’t even get along with their spouses, let alone the whole world of diverse ideas and cultures.
Whether the Bilderbergs or anybody else is orchestrating such future really doesn’t matter if we just get Government back to its Constitutionally mandated size. Without power over the Marketplace through Government, those would-be conspirators would be powerless.
Rather than concentrate on whose plotting what, especially since many people can’t grasp the conspiracy concepts, we should concentrate our efforts on shrinking the size of Government dramatically. We need to get Government back to its intended role of protecting people from the force of others, and a few other things such as coining money. We need to get Government out of the role of protecting people from themselves. And we need to get Government out of the role of protecting Countries of People from themselves.
We also need to end that bullshit belief that it is okay for people in Government to break moral codes that the rest of us are compelled to obey, such as theft and murder.

I do believe that therein lies the problem. It seems to me that conservatives are against free thinking despite what they say. During my time as a professed Christian, I was afraid to read certain literature because people had convinced me that it was of the devil. Jana – I feel like you’re speaking of me as a child, calling me “misguided.” I might say the same for you. I know you will never understand the point I am always trying to make because you will never do any “seeking” (as in finding the real meaning of life and my purpose in it) via reading the materials of people other than those who feel the same way you do. I also question the remarks of those here who portray college as a training ground for liberals. Any good teacher will give the unbiased view of the subject matter. I’m attending a small 2-yr college right now; and though my Sociology instructor has a couple of Ph.d’s, he is in no way, shape or form biased in either direction. What a good teacher does is open a person’s mind to the possibilities that exist, whatever they may be, and let them make up their own mind. In my opinion, sheeple are closed-minded people who have tunnel vision. I have often mentioned in these discussions the fact that my eyes have been opened more than they were by some of the discourse on this site. However, when confronted with being treated like stupid, uneducated vermin (as does happen here), one is totally pushed to the opposite direction. And, yes, I do see in shades of gray. That is what makes a fair and balanced person – seeing both sides and evaluating what is seen and heard using whatever methods a person has learned. Thanks for saying I’m sweet, though.

No truer words were ever spoken! Several years ago, I said to a black friend that I’d tried to bring my sons up to not be racist; so maybe their generation would be better. He said, “No, they won’t, because there are too many racist blacks (but not the word he used)”! I was shocked!

I haven’t done anything to anyone so I’ve never felt “guilty” myself. I’ve felt horrible for the way they were treated, but I resent being called names just because I’m white & I don’t like the fact that being a “minority” is used for the excuse to get away with anything!

I also think the “hate crimes bill” is just another excuse to excoriate the white man even more severely. If you’re not a minority or gay, you’re screwed! A crime against another human being is a hate crime! I don’t care who it’s against. Why is it worse against one kind of human than another? I guess we now have “degrees of humanity”! As a teacher I sometimes ask my kids if I have the right to be a racist (which is hard for me since I am a person of mixed race.) They say no. I will then ask them where the law is that says I can’t. As we talk I point out that I have the right to say anything I want about anyone as long as it is not slander. I also point out that you (the students) have the right to not hire me or hang out with me if I do so. And they get it.
Of course I work on a reservation and we can still talk like this in their schools. Ironic that those our government took so much freedom from exibit more freedom than most in America….

That’s because they seldom vote in a block because some spokesman tells them to do it. As a result, they are ignored by those in power.

THere are several reasons for PC. One is certainly thought control. Another is that the liberals simply have fits when they hear something that disagrees with their agenda. Therefore they need to make sure no one does – at least in their hearing.

It is one of the worst ideas that ever came out of their group. Why should someone be able to sue me because I disagree with him? It should definately be outlawed.

I would seem that slander is now perfectly acceptable, especially when directed at anyone on the right.

Just listen to all the venom being spewed about Glenn Beck et al, accusing him of lies, hate speech, racism and every vile thing the left employs as everyday propaganda.

There was a time when a slander or libel suit could deter mud-slinging, but today it’s just common practice.

The lawyers long ago pretty much put “public figures” in the crosshairs of libel/slander. There’s not much a public figure can do to combat it. And that’s sad, indeed.

There is certainly a great deal of slander thrown around here on this board by conservatives.

AC, I think Yeshua was demonstrating how human ‘justice’ goes against the heart of the Father, and persecutes and kills anything good within us. And yet, also, to prove that goodness cannot be killed, but will always rise up again victorious.

I don’t think He was, in any way, advocating for submission to an unjust human system as a rule.

AC, I think it is the 7th Commandment. The 5th is “Honor your father and mother”.

Anyway, it also does not say “Thou shall not kill” in the original.

It says, “Thou shall not murder.”

And that is exactly what the terrorists do. Further, in their own Koran it says that suicide is the murder of yourself and you cannot get redemption for that act. So most terrorists fail Paradise twice right there.

You are right about “murder” and “kill”… they are different.

That would probably help a LOT of people who are uncertain as to sentencing… hard core criminals, repeat murderer or rape offenders who have chosen not to change, and terrorists who murder… to death.

Whoa1 The Muslims are NOT Christians. They have a different god with different morals. They belie3ve in conversion by killing…convert or be killed. They do not believe in mercy; they do believe in killing those who do not agree with them, and it is heroic to kill those who have not converted to Islaam fully.

They do not adhere to the 10 Commandments;that is a Christian thing, not honored by Islaam. You should get a current Qur’an and read it, and learn what they believe totally firmly, and how they are commended to convert the world.

JeffH, CSPAN is where you watch the goings on in the Senate (CSPAN) and House (CSPAN 2). They have Congressional committees discussions, book reviews, speeches by politicians and other proceedings during times when Congress is not in session. And they actually come from both sides of the aisle (though mostly left, I think).

I just found it interesting how this (obviously communist) journalist acted as if he and the left-wing media were of the highest integrity, and spoke of ‘truth in journalism’, while accusing the right-wing media of ‘unconscionable lies’. It would have been funny if it wasn’t so pathetic and, in fact, UNCONSCIONABLE.

Made my stomach turn.

I find National Public Radio to by very balanced. They always present both sides of issues, maybe not always at the same time; but they intelligently question anyone that is featured.

An Army Flight Surgeon, Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin. M.D., is being tried by the U.S. Army for refusing to comply with orders. His reason for doing so is that the chain of command has been corrupted since the Commander-in-Chief has never proven his eligibility for the office. If he can not or does not provide such documentation his chain of command is baseless and without authority.
The JAG officer sitting the case has issued a statement against the good doctor contending his position is “an embarressment” to the President. (So what? This president is a shame upon the people of this nation.)

The homosexual community and other deviant sexual behaviors are ALL liberals and will NEVER VOTE Conservative. They will NEVER support the church, God and Jesus, the family unit, truthful historical education and homosexual-agenda-free education from indoctrination of our kids, nor will they support the smaller government that we must have as they want separate rights. I remember a scientist who came out with research showing brain differences in people of different races, and was kicked out of the scientific community.

One big problem with PC is that if the truth is inconvenient to their agenda, it is replaced with a lie and ENFORCED. Truth is irrelevant. Agenda trumps truth.

I once heard that almost all Republican males are closet homosexuals…well, at least the ones who went to church. I guess they figure the reason is that the churches are very homo-centric, and that they encourage molesting young boys. Then those young, molested boys grow up to be men, and they all want to molest young boys, and so on.
I mean, even the military seems a bit too ‘Village People’, these days.

It’s kind of ironic, really, that the religious right, who so adamantly denounce homosexuality (well, verbally…), all secretly practice it themselves. Maybe that’s why those tea party idiots, call themselves ‘tea-baggers’.

I’m proud to say that about one week ago I also not only left a donation to the defence fund but also a comment for him to change his attorney’s tactics to focus upon the Constitution and how it says that the Presidentcy requires that those elligable must be NATURAL born citizens.
