Allah, Oil And America's Future

October 6, 2010 by

Allah, Oil And America's Future

(Part two of a two-part series. Part one, Is It Time To Say, “To Hell With Islam?” ran Sept. 22)

Islam is one of the biggest threats facing America. Yet President Barack Obama and key Democrats are Islam appeasers and Muslim apologists. Does the President and his supporters act out of woeful ignorance or willful sabotage?

Consider that Obama has thrown the weight of the Presidency behind the building of the New York City Mosque next to 9/11 Ground Zero.

"As a citizen and as President,” Obama said, “I believe that Muslims have the right to practice their religion, as everyone else in this country. And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances. This is America. And our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable."

This is not the first time that Obama has been an advocate for Muslim rights. In a speech at Cairo University last year the President made a spectacular overture to the 1.5 billion Muslims of the world when he called for, “a new beginning.”

In that speech Obama spoke of a complete withdrawal of United States forces from the Middle East and, regarding the conflict President Obama said, "We do not want to keep our troops in Afghanistan… We would gladly bring every single one of our troops home if we could be confident that there were not violent extremists in Afghanistan and now Pakistan.”

Obama apologized for the CIA’s involvement in Iran’s democratically elected government in 1953, an event that for many Muslims was the beginning of American interdiction.

“Since taking office, President Obama has reached out to the Muslim world as a whole,” said International Herald Tribune columnist Roger Cohen last month in an op-ed in The New York Times.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich couldn’t agree more. CNN reported that, at the Fifth Annual Value Voters Summit in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 17, Gingrich warned America faces a dire threat.

"We are at a point where our establishment is sliding into policies of such disastrous impact that they will in fact fundamentally challenge the survival of America as we know it," Gingrich said. "On the one front we have a secular socialist machine led by (President) Obama, (House Speaker Nancy) Pelosi, and (Senate Majority Leader Harry) Reid, and on the other front we have radical Islamists who would fundamentally change this country into a system none of us in this room would recognize."

Gingrich also said he will oppose any efforts to impose Sharia on the U.S. Yet the former House Speaker doesn’t have a vote. Pelosi and Reid do. Their support for Islamic rights — whether near Ground Zero or around the world — is troubling.

Backing Islam Or Locking In Oil?
To be fair, Obama is not the first U.S. President to sooth Arab sensibilities. Washington has been influenced by Arab interests for decades.

Earlier this month The Tablet wrote: “There is an Arab lobby in the United States — one as old as, if not older than the Israel lobby and it has helped to shape U.S. foreign policy and economic life since the end of World War II.”

Arab’s influence encompasses everyone from U.S. Foreign Service officers, Arab-American activists, Islamist ideologues and even Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. And no administration had closer ties to the Saudi Royals than George W. Bush’s.  Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin, Saudi Arabia’s former U.S. envoy, was even nicknamed Bandar Bush. All this Arab influence in America can be traced to a single commodity: Oil.

Oil provides 40 percent of the world’s energy and 96 percent of the world’s transportation energy. According to the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security, world oil consumption will surge by 60 percent in the next decade. That means even more money for Saudi Arabia. According to Mark Steyn in his book, America Alone, The End Of The World As We Know It, the Saudis are already spending billions to fund, “mosques and madrassas [sic] in every corner of the planet. Oil isn’t their principal export, ideology is — petroleum merely bankrolls it.”

This should put a red light over the Middle East which in 10 years will hold 83 percent of the remaining global conventional oil reserves.

The Dirty Truth About Democrats
Access to Arab oil explains some, but not all of the reasons Obama, Pelosi and Reid are pro-Islam. After all there is another huge energy producer whose resources almost equal that of Saudi Arabia. Yet this nation is given no quarter by the President or the Democrats in Congress. It seems hard to understand why when this country is America’s closest ally, a friend for 200 years and shares the same language, culture and religion as the United States. Yet Canada — with its vast oil sands — is the target for attacks by the Liberal Elite in Washington.

The Canadian oil sands will send America nearly 1 billion barrels of crude oil this year, making Canada the number one supplier of crude oil, ahead of Saudi Arabia.

Annual U.S. Imports from Canada of Crude Oil and Petroleum Products

Yet Canada’s oil sands have been attacked by Democrats as being an unethical environmental atrocity. There are reports that Left-leaning members of Congress want to ban oil sand imports into the U.S. Apparently it would be better to accept more oil from Saudi Arabia than from its northern neighbor; better to buy crude from the Arab Kingdom that spends a fortune financing al-Qaida and other extremists than to buy it from an ally whose soldiers fight and die next to their American brothers in the God-forsaken mountains of Afghanistan.

The Democrats in Congress who make cozy with Arab special interests have lost sight of the fact that in Saudi Arabia there is no democratic voice, women have no say; while torture and executions are a daily occurrence. While Canada gave every assistance to the U.S. during 9/11 — I saw waves of commercial airplanes approaching Calgary International Airport that morning — it was Saudi Arabia that was the inspiration for the attack. Saudi Arabia is where Osama bin Laden made his fortune and it was home for 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers.

Hypocrites Favor The House Of Saud
In his new book, Ethical Oil, The Case For Canada’s Oil Sands, Ezra Levant writes: “If Saudi Arabia didn’t exist, it would take a science fiction writer in an apocalyptic mood to invent it.”

Yet Liberal Democrats in Congress are already lining up against Canada’s oil sands. Last month Pelosi visited Canada to gather ammunition to either tax or block future oil sands imports to America.

Some Democrats are campaigning against government approval for the final stage of the Keystone Pipeline project linking the oil sands to Texas refineries. And Pelosi has the power to expedite or delay clean energy legislation currently before the Senate.

According to the Montreal Gazette, “Ms. Pelosi’s mind is made up. The Alberta oil sands are a last-resort fuel for Americans best eliminated as quickly as possible.”

Alberta’s oil sands do have environmental issues. Some 1,600 ducks died after landing on a giant sludge pond which is part of the oil sand’s landscape. That is a lot of ducks to be sure, but only a tiny fraction of the number of birds that are killed every year by wind turbines. It might come as comfort to the Greens that very few ducks are killed as a result of Saudi oil production, in part because there are no ducks in the desert.

However I do have news for Liberal Democrats like Pelosi. While you support women’s rights and oppose the death penalty, you should note Saudi Arabia freely executes people, especially women. The nation has the highest per capita capital punishment rate in the world. (America’s other great Arab ally Pakistan, beheads and tortures nearly the same number of people each year.)

What is chilling is that people like Pelosi and Obama see evil in things like Canada’s oil sands but appear blind to the dangers of Islam and the ambitions that some within it have against the West. One can only hope that these leaders simply don’t know better. To entertain something more sinister is dismaying.

So we are getting European Union news of a Soviet report on a story that never happened. See the quote from a few of the links you posted below:
“Kremlin position papers presented to Prime Minister Putin today on his upcoming meeting with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen state that the European-US military alliance has authorized an ‘emergency request’ from President Obama to utilize American and Canadian NATO troops to put down what is expected to be a “rebellion” after the expected January, 2010 ‘declaration of bankruptcy’ by the State of California.”
January 2010 is over and there is no civil war.

      • BGinTN

        Yes, Doc I read them.
        Still California is bankrupt.
Yes, they are trying to do something about it.
Has a civil unrest started because of it? Not that I know of, yet.
Are the Soviet Communist aware that a plan exists if it dose, yes.
Are they aware of something that dose not exist?

      • Vigilant

And the lefties claim he’s not a global governance person!

That’s right, “Doc,” ignore the IMPORTANT assertion: That a US president would even request such a thing! If he did, that would have shown not just his ignorance of the NATO Charter, but a true disdain for the American people.

There is, quite simply, nothing in the NATO Charter which accommodates this put-down of civil unrest within the borders of a sovereign nation. And using foreign troops? Read the Declaration of Independence!

That the riots haven’t come to pass (yet) is irrelevant to the subject.

      • eddie47d

Bad me, I have to bring up Bush and Cheney for they were deeper into the NWO than Obama ever was.

      • Vigilant

Bad indeed! You might not be aware of it, but they aren’t in power any more.

      • eddie47d

Thanks for waking me up I wouldn’t have known.

      • Vigilant

You know what? I think I’ll take you at your word.

      • eddie47d

        Thanks, dufuss

  • Eve

Doc Sarvis, with all due respect you are wrong about the Mosque at Ground Zero. The Muslims originally intended to name it ‘Cordoba House’ as a sign of victory over America. It is the same strategy Obama uses. Try what you can and see what you can get. He has been forced to put his hand over his heart for the pledge of allegiance even tho he said he didn’t do it because it might offend Muslims. He has been forced to say he is a Christian even tho he has stated several times he is Muslim. We have a Muslim as president because Americans wanted a black president. They didn’t realize what they were getting. I promise you he is far far from what the majority wants.

    • Doc Sarvis

So do you believe that all black people are Muslims???

      • Vigilant

Oh Oh! “Doc’s” playing the race card……

      • spike

I saw nothing in this woman’s remarks, Doc, that could lead any sane person to the response of “do you think all black persons are Muslims” my mother does the same thing. You just come up with some off the wall statement that means the person who said something then has to go defend it. No, I think alot of black people are Christians because when their families came over here they had 3 choices: follow the religion of their owners. 2. Be minstered to by priests who used to go to the slave pens when the slave ships came to port to offer them some hope and relief. 3. Be nothing, and be bitter. 4. And I like this one best, “cling to God, who is your refuge and your comfort” I consider the black people being brought over here as slaves one of the biggest instances of God making lemons into lemonade that the world has ever seen. He took man’s bad act (to enslave another human being) andhe gave the black man opportunity he would never have had otherwise. How the black man chose to use that was entirely up to him. Saying that blacks are all muslim is like saying blacks are all liberals or dumocrats. If they were smart, they’d be Republicans, because that’s what Lincoln was.

    • Bob Wire

It was hard enough for me to attend Church of Christ services and I was raised in it ~ To think any Muslim might be able to endure it for years and years is totally ridiculous.

I think Obama and I and the Deilama share a similar attitude about religion ~ whatever brings you the closest to God is the best religion for you ~ and we really think it’s personal and a personal choice and between you and your maker.

But that’s now enough as you are attempting to make him something ! Something he’s not. Now what if you were subjected to this same process of identification. How would you feel about it?

      • spike

        Hey, Bob,
He’s trying to push the rest of the nation AWAY from their God. And so is the Supreme Court, who has no legal right to do so. So therefore, his “whatever” philosophy is lost on me….Just don’t be dissin my God.

      • Karolyn

That is such BS! Paranoia again. Boy, I’m glad I don’t have to live in fear like you.

        ——————————————————————
Why do you continue to use the Paranoid phrase in dissing others opinions here ?
Paranoid is nothing more than enhanced Fear, IMO, And Fear is often conquered & or Justified by the awareness of such event’s that garner / create, fear..
Just curious , are you aware of the possibility that the Fears of others here, just might be well founded in awareness , or are you just Denying what “IS” potentially real.??
Example: 9/11 Is Real and I am Aware to the point of ,in your words, Paranoia. Why ? Because , To Be Aware is to Be free of the Fear, and thus, well Prepared ,just in case my Fears are founded in Truth & Reality.

      • Karolyn

Fire – “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” I prefer not to live in fear. Those who live in fear usually find those things that they have been fearing. Those who live without fear are much freer and much less prone to having fearful things happen to them. Like the person who totes a gun is bound to have to use it some day. People who walk around in a city looking at the ground and appearing fearful are more bound to be mugged. It’s all in one’s vibrations that are sent out. If you’re afraid you’re gonna be attacked, odds are you will be. That goes for the collective consciousness. That’s why the people in third world countries are in such bad shape and won’t fight back.

A rose by any other name is still a rose.

Notions of a deity have been around since early man and went by many names.

This labeling does create “issues” as many insist on getting the name “correct” to their own personal frame of reference. Otherwise they feel obliged to label and identified you as a

Infidel (literally “one without faith”) is a chiefly archaic English noun, meaning one who doubts or rejects the central tenets of a religion other than one’s own or has no religious beliefs; especially in reference to Christianity or Islam.

Infidel is an ecclesiastical term in Christianity around which the Church developed a body of theology that deals with the concept of infidelity; which makes a clear differentiation between those who were baptized and followed the teachings of the Church vs. those who are outside the faith. The term infidel was used by Christians to describe non-Christians or those perceived as the enemies of Christianity, especially Muslims. The usage of the term for non-Christian monotheists distinguishes the term from heathen or pagan.

But the truth of the matter is ~ you only need to get the label wrong.

~ a little of that “If you are not with us, you are against us”action.
very narrow minded about such things, we seem to be.

Most people want to humanize God, they seem to understand God only from the human point of view. ~ While I offer, God is not human and encourage us to be more “of” God then of man.

It’s a lot to ask of man and goes against his worldly nature. It’s a “setup” for failure ~ so we sin ~ (an English archery terms; being off target) sin 2. sin 3. sin 5.etc.

I don’t see why my government should hold any special interest in such matters. I have been granted the right to think and practice as I wish as long as it doesn’t do harm or interferes with civil/criminal laws. This pleases me and I would think you too.

I’m not too peachy keen on unsolicited public prayer but I endure it. What if we had to observe reverence to everyone’s unsolicited public prayer? That would make me most uncomfortable and if it occurred three times a day, I’d be plain old pissed.

      • Vigilant

But, Bobbo, if you believe Obama, he NEVER heard any of the racist invective of Rev, Wright! If you tune out to everything being said in church, you can very well “endure it.”

      • Bob Wire

exactly ! that’s what I had to do and I don’t think that I’m alone in doing so. Tolerances is something that is practiced otherwise it’s a noun.

  • Eve

You have to understand that Obama was raised with anti-colonial sentiments which fall lock step with Reid and Peloski’s far left agendas. They disdain our western culture including that of our closet allies. The ‘change’ that was promised is actually happening if the tide is not turned. Thankfully we will soon be voting out as many Democrats as possible and hopefully the Republicans will take back our country. Obama and his thugs have sadly underestimated Americans and their allies! The sleeping giant has awoken.

    • Doc Sarvis

Regarding President Obama; a far left agenda would NOT include:
putting more money and troops on the U.S./Mexican border than any other recent president
allowing corporate giants to continue to get paid outragous amounts of money
      continuing the war in Afghanistan
holding face to face meetings with Republicans
allowing insurance companies continued upper hand in health care issues

A disdain of our Western culture would NOT include:
      a love for basketball
talking over differences over a beer
taking a vacation on the beach
      following a Christian faith

      • Vigilant

        Uncredentialled “Doc,”

“Regarding President Obama; a far left agenda would NOT include:
putting more money and troops on the U.S./Mexican border than any other recent president.”

A woefully inadequate number of troops to do the job; you can’t seriously believe that failing to enforce Federal law re sanctuary cities and suing AZ for instituting immigration controls brands him as at all aerious about protecting our borders.

“allowing corporate giants to continue to get paid outragous amounts of money.”

Ah, the usual anti-rich envy and invective of the left. He would of course emasculate private industry if he could, but the American people and the free market system have helped mitigate his efforts in this area so far. When you appoint a czar to oversee executive bonuses, take over the auto industry to help your union buddies, etc., I think we all (except you) know where this is headed.

        “continuing the war in Afghanistan”

        You’ve never read Orwell’s “1984,” have you?

“holding face to face meetings with Republicans.”

That’s patently false and you know it. The Congress has studiously frozen the Republicans out of the negotiation process, so they could claim that the Repubs have no ideas. Any other “face to face” meetings were purely photo ops.

“allowing insurance companies continued upper hand in health care issues.”

Yes, it’s better to unconstitutionally force Americans to purchase a commercial (or government) product. And, of course, to offer a government program that is price-fixed (courtesy of the US taxpayer) to drive all legitimate competition out of business. That’s a really pro-capitalist approach, isn’t it?

A disdain of our Western culture would NOT include:
a love for basketball: HA HA! we all know that basketball defines western culture (poor example, “Doc”)
talking over differences over a beer : after he screwed up by inserting himself in a local incident at Cambridge and summarily accused the police of acting stupidly without even knowing the circumstances of arrest. And western culture had nothin to do with it: it was damage control, pure and simple.
taking a vacation on the beach: sorry, I thought people in other parts of the world did the same thing.
following a Christian faith: Black Liberation Theology is anything but Christian.

      • spike

There, again, Doc, you are full of it.
Many kids of many faiths and nationalities drink beer or some spirit. They play games of all kinds, including basketball. And unless you are blind, deaf and dumb, Obama does not FOLLOW ANY KIND OF CHRISTIAN FAITH. This guy out and out denounced God when he proclaimed” we don’t consider ourselves a Christian nation”. God does not put kindly toward those who diss him.

      • Karolyn

A belief in God and Christianity are not one and the same. We are a nation of all kinds of believers.

    • eddie47d

Eve; Are you saying you have pro- colonial sentiments? Subjugating people against their will; maybe in you’re glory days.

It is not woeful ignorance that causes Obama and the democraps to support radical Islam, but willful sabotage. If it isn’t clear to us now it will never be and then America is gone. Wake Up!!!!

Real liberals and real progressives do, indeed, have better ideas on how to control. Pat Tillman was killed in war. Muslims main education is about how to kill…even each other at the Mosque, school, marketplace, police station, or just along the roadside. The first unification of Arabs, was for the purpose of war and it has never changed. If a Muslim follows one brother of the descendants of Muhammed, then the other group must kill them all. What a nice religion, tolerated by the liberals and real progressives. Real progressives have no idea about religion vs. an Idol…Muslim, pretended religion. Real tolerance means to tolerate liberals.

  • Doc Sarvis

The key distinction that was NOT made in this article, which changes everything, is that we are at war with radical elements of Islam – the extremeists. This has been pointed out by both Presidents (Bush & Obama) both of their State Departments and both of their Defense Departments.

The Mosque in NY city is a freedom of religion issue which has no more to do with the terrorism we are fighting than building a Christian church next to the site of the OK city bombing (al la Timothy McViegh). Many prominent Christian leaders have also supported the construction of this Mosque. The Mosque would illustrate to all, including our enemies, that our American ideals are not compromised. To forbid this illustration of freedom of religion would be a victory for the Muslim extremeists. President Obama’s Christian faith does not trump his commitment to uphold our constitution and the freedom of religion.

As for energy security, if we need to pull back all the military and other money we spend to acquire the oil we consume. We have wasted trillions of dollars and human lives over decades of this realtionship. We should invest that money into research and development of other sustainable sources of energy(and infrastructure to support them). Planning for more efficient use of that energy needs to be part of the equation as well.

Oil sands are not the answer either. Extracting that oil is hugely inefficient and destructive. Oil is “crack”!

I don’t know any President who was more cozy with the Saudi’s than Bush – walking along Bush holding hands with their leaders after the 9/11 attacks that were mostly perpetrated by Saudi nationals. Both parties (and all Americans) have for too long have sustained this relationship because of the oil source.

Our goal should be to reduce our oil needs, through efficiency and other energy technologies (to be developed), to what we can produce at a greatly reduced level.

    • Michigan

Doc – this MOSQUE is NOT about “freedom of religion” nor about one’s ability to pay for it. This is a “big dog” lifting his leg and urinating ALL over the USA via the Mosque. 1st. 9/11 – we were attacked. 3000 lives lost. 2nd. WE, the people, have a right to know where this $$$ is coming from. IF, it is coming from “terrorists”, w/any history of the same, then, you are IGNORANT to NOT believe they are coming right for and at YOU, me and the USA. THat’s the issue in a nutshell. ISLAM – whether radical, moderate or fringe is about WORLD DOMINATION and you, UNLESS a MUSLIM, are an INFIDEL – pure and simple. This is NOT a religion but a totatlitarian way of life. Nobody requested the USA be transformed. Why did people, any people, come here… it was for their perceived freedom and hopefully a better life than they had. Nobody is keeping anyone here. they have choices to go to whatever country they want. However, Islam wants to come here and TAKE OVER, YOU, ME, and yes “MY BIG DOG”, who i pray will urinate all over their intention to destroy MY/OUR COUNTRY.
ALL, of these politicians are multi-millionairs and tax evaders, and worse. THEY are they ‘wealthy’ and making laws and protecting their sorry butts in the process. THey are suppose to be “servants” of the people and some home THEY THEMSELVES have written the laws to create the issues w/Fannie/Freddie (Barney Frank, a known socialist), Cap/Trade (AL Gore has an off-shore company where he would make billions if this passes, along w/the Clintons); Obama has a “trust” set up w/Shore Bank and the Clintons (they might be business partners) for the exchange of the trading of the footprints … read it and go research http://www.dsausa.org. SO, why don’t the politicians start by giving up their ‘healthcare’ and becoming ONE OF “US”. They took 20% from medicare and yet they all got a fat FAT pay raise … don’t you get it. IF gov’t is for something …. better RUN the other way. Obama is pushing for ONE WORLD DOMINATION .. he has said it. Read and study his past … why won’t he produce documents that everyone should be proud of producing. the media, why don’t they talk about how the UNIONS have destroyed this country. look at EDUCATION and now we are ranked 26th (in the world) … why? I don’t know of anyone ANYONE preaching Hate, except the MEDIA, Politicians to seperate this country. This country offered SAFE HAVEN FOR ALL … just respect OUR LAWS, become legal, pay taxes help support the benefits you claim you are entitled too … work in community organizations, till the soil but don’t complain about the hand that feeds you and then try to KILL IT………… don’t you get it!. WHy should we be ‘sharia compliant”? we are not hindu, budhist, check, russian etc compliant? we, have our laws, our courts … freedom of religion is one thing; ability to pay is one thing; tryinig to make us compliant w/sharia long term .. that’s another. This President filed a complaint about the US for inhumane acts in a 29 page report. On the panel, one country under ISLAM/SHARIA rule. If you believe in the rights of CHILDREN, WOMEN and FELLOW MEN …. YOU MUST VOTE AGAINST THIS REGIME AND CLEAN HOUSE AND SENATE THIS FALL – PERIOD. THIS IS BIGGER THAN THE 2 party fight that has escalated in an effort to forget the “big picture” and that is the DOG URINATING ON OUR COUNTRY.

IN addition … look up the word DHIMMITUDE. Obamacare has a religious clause and YOU as the INFIDEL will pay. Insurance is hareem, forbidden and that includes health ins. If the “infidel” mandates the Muslim person to go against their “religion”, it it grounds for a Jihad. We, my friend, are under an economic “jihad” by taxing the Infidel. Research folks, research. The Deomcrats/Dumbocrats signed OUR life away, w/o reading what was in that ‘garbage’ they spoon fed us but they themselves are exempt … WHY? and why do we have CZARS and who is paying for that, you and me? Now, you need a license and gov’t approval to sell your home; soon they will ‘microchip’ YOU to create a “paperless society” and run your computers …. research people — research :{ – don’t blindly believe the media. ANd by the way, Obama ordered a moritorium on US offshore drilling, but loaned $$$ to Soros for his oil which will go to china, who basically owns the USA and our debt. Why, do you think gold is going through the roof …. you, doc, don’t see it coming … take off your delusional blinders before it is too late!

      • Karolyn

The real meaning of “jihad” is the struggle or striving against one’s own weaknesses and the struggle for the good of the community. It is misused by extremists.

We are not Sharia compliant. I have found no credible evidence (and seriously doubt that you can) that President Obama said he is pushing for one world domination.
As for your fixation on urin; a lot of entities have been giving us the shaft for a long time both inside and outside of our country (corporations mostly). That does not mean that we are not still a strong country OR that we should give up our ideals. Most proud Americans would agree with that.
As for conversion to one faith, there are a lot of Christian “sects” that push the same agenda for their faith.

      • spike

Yeah, Doc, name one Christian ‘SEC” WHO PUSHES FOR ONE WORLD RELIGION.Because I’m here to tell you now, that Jesus puts the word out there for “who soever will” not beat them into submission, and conquer them and stuff it down their throats. Jesus will accomplish his purpose without the violation of one human will. That’s why he gave us freedom of choice. Our God does not want puppets, washington, does. If you don’t like Christianity, then don’t worship God and believe in Christ. Simple. But don’t you dare mock, or blaspheme my God.

      • Karolyn

YOUR God???? God is in everyone and everything. We are all a part of God (or Allah, the Muslim word.)

      • FireMall

Doc Sarvis,, What the He-double L does the phrase Global Governance say to you?
These words came from “O” bama’s mouth more than a few times.. Even during the campaign.
Please relay your feeble reasoning / excuse for such a statement coming from a Newly elected POTUS.
Seems pretty much New World Order to me. However ,considering you are obviously a Constitutional Revisionist & “O” lover ,I reckon there will be no legit reasoning with your version of Really Simple Phrases ,or the simple worded laws of the land either.

    • Vigilant

“Doc” (and I still don’t know what your credentials are):

“To forbid this illustration of freedom of religion would be a victory for the Muslim extremeists [sic].”

As usual, you got it ass-backwards. To allow this slap in the face of all that’s decent, will be to encourage, aid and abet the radicals on the “Muslim street” who will use it as a rallying cry that Islam is supplanting Christianity and Judaism in America. There’s a reason this was called the “Cordoba” initiative.

      • Doc Sarvis

All that is decent includes freedom of religion which includs Islam. Our fight is with the extremeists NOT the majority of Muslim people.

      • spike

        Bulls**t, Doc.
Muslims believe in their “religion”and their religious agenda is to have their religion conquer the world. All muslims worship Allah, who IS NOT GOD. Get it straight.

      • Karolyn

Spike – You are wrong, wrong, wrong!! Muslims worship one God, Allah, the same God we worship. You don’t have a clue and know nothing of which you speak. Closed minds……………

      • Vigilant

And decency doesn’t include sensitivity to the family survivors of 9/11?

Only a leftist could leave that out of a list of “decent” things to do.

      • Karolyn

You know, there are family members of the victims’ families who are behind the cultural center.

      • Vigilant

So, you propose counting them all up and doing a survey? If only a few of them (and it’s more than a few) feel offended by the mosque, that justifies ignoring their feelings?

Decency is not precribed “by the numbers,” as many on the left treat people. A “tyranny of the majority” would perhaps disregard their feelings. Luckily, the left is not in the majority, and decency is still one of the guidelines of a compassionate people.

    • spike

      Sorry, Doc,
They’ve infiltrated your brain with this “freedom of religion” crap.
You probably believe “separation of church and state ” is in the Constitution too. I believe what Michigan says. However, has anyone thought of this : the reason it’s not freedom of religion is that their”religion” brings along with it a legal system that is diametricly opposed to our legal system, and they have no right to do that.

  • 1madinfidel

    Dems=socialist=progressive=nazi=obama pelosi reid!!
I’m ready for them are you?

    • eddie47d

Doc; I like your “oil is crack” remark. For better or for worse what an addiction!

  • home boy

if the government really wanted to get us off oil, they would make a heavy investment in natural gas. it would cost 2000.00 per vehicle to convert tonatural gas. the big investment would be to add natural gas stations accross the u.s. we presently have over 30 years of nat gas deposits hee and we need to start using it to our advantage.

  • 1madinfidel

Islam sucks, Jesus is the answer!!

Seems like they see themselves as intellectuals…who take no responsibilty for their disastrous social engineering fiascos.
Unfortunately “lofty ideas” is all they have…none of it bears out to the intended results. Maybe some quick lessons in Math, Economics and Human Nature would do them some good…OH! And the Constitution, let’s not forget that.

      • eddie47d

Fancy capitalistic manipulations of the marketplace is hardly a sign of intellect. Bringing nations down to it’s knees is not something I’d be bragging about. Whether Capitalism or Communism and just because Capitalism is the lesser of the evils doesn’t justify their financial terror. .

        Mick,

        Fixed it for you,

the Conservatives have taken the most beautiful and powerful country in the world and transformed it into the largest prison nation in the world, they have opened the treasury to their corporate puppet masters and all but bankrupted this great nation. you’re kids and grandkids will have to pay a dear price for this theft of the national treasury..

We are all here to “serve” someone ~ you can’t go through life just serving yourself.

I give you the other extreme of your banter! Now you want to come down off of your high horse and really discuss it?

    • Karolyn

Craig – That remark right there shows just how many brains you have.

  • Eric Bischoff

John you are confused as usual and misleading as well. Your cynicism about ducks being the only casualty of the tar sands is rife with ignorance driven by greed. I realize that you can’t help it since you write about energy resources and that obviously trumps anything else on earth!

Let’s blame the liberals for not wanting to rape the planet as in tar sands and mountain top removal. Why don’t we address our addiction instead. Why don’t we focus on reducing our use and needs with conservation, efficiency and raising CAFE standards. Why don’t we consciously go full speed on alternative solutions like maybe there was no tomorrow.

This country, both of it’s parties and it’s ruling class all have a long history of supporting, arming, protecting dictators and helping them oppress their people. They helped create Bin Ladden. Bin Ladden who according to murdered Benazir Bhutto has already been murdered by Omar Sheikh!

You have to ask yourself why this govt is also so afraid of lawyer Lynne Stewart, is it because she can blow a giant hole the size of a mountain top removal into the govt’s lies about the World Trade Center bombing and she can implicate multiple govts in it?

The war on terror is awfully convenient.

I am not sure what your point here is except that you appear to be using false information to attack the Democrats. Is that what we should be worried about? Is putting Republicans back in power the best we can do? The very group/ideology that has deregulated banking, gutted environmental protection, removed solar panels from the White House, canceled free college education, and constantly votes to maintain perpetual wars. If that is the best you can produce? , you really need to go away. I realize that you are probably great at making money and advising rich people how to make even more money but eventually you are just a big part of the problem.

You can keep blaming Liberals and Progressives for this mess all you want but it won’t make it true. Right wing ideologies, conservatism has always been in power, whether Democrat or Republican, more concerned with corporation and their major share holders. They are the status quo. They are also the ones funding the Tea Party fooling them into believing that it is a grass roots movement. It really does not matter if someone is a Republican or a Democrat, what matters is what they believe, how they vote and who they go to lunch with.

The war between Republicans and Democrats is another convenient distraction that keeps us polarized.

We need new thinking and new solutions, not just regurgitated stinking garbage from intelligent but dangerous fools like Gingrich.

Real Liberals and real Progressives have better ideas that put people and this planet above corporations and profits. But your kind is so afraid of these ideas that you murder all their aspiring leaders. The latest being Pat Tillman.

    • BigBadJohn

      well said

However, we still need to move beyond the two party system and elect officials that represent the people and not corporations. Pretty hard to do when corporations own all of the media outlets and present a unified face against taxes, regulation and call it socialism.

      • Bob Wire

    • alpha-lemming

      Better ideas huh??

The two that come to mind quickly (don’t have time for more… at work… paying your welfare check) are:

      1) We can tax ourself to prosperity?? Why isn’t the USSR and China the last remaining super-powers?? Tell me how it wasn’t given a fair shake because??? Taxing people at 90%+ of income didn’t work, but if we could only tax them at 125% of income it’d be the utopia you know it can be. (Gave your Mondragon Co-op a quick scan…. saw “giving” workers and “subsidizing” quite a bit in the text)

      2) We can change the climate?? I long for the day that happens and Antarctica will be the tropical paradise of the world. I can see the sandy beaches, palm trees, and cute penguins in sunglasses as greeters now.

Progressive ideas?? If stupid was a nickel, they’d be the First National Bank of Tokyo!!

  • DogWithoutSlippers

Towards the end of the 19th Century several European countries laid claim to goods and resources of China and goaded them into wars so that they could be victorius forcing China into paying exorbitant reparations which bankcrupted them. China has not forgotten this.

  • Mark

    Very interesting article.
As an Alberta native (born in Edmonton). I have numorous relatives involved in the conventional oil industry in Alberta. The oil sands issue is complex it appears to me. yes there are environmental concerns. Not only is the extraction messy but it is in itself also energy intensive (you need to burn a lot of natural gas to get the tar out of the sand). That aside, another interesting dynamic is that the oil royalties (mineral rights) are held by the government (no doubt this is a quaint socialistic concept to Americans, you would think Pelosi would support that industry wouldn’t you)..

On the broad issue of oil and terrorism, there can be no doubt that Saudi oil is funding people who hate America. Getting off the Middle East oil teat must become a matter of national security at some point. But as oil is a fungible commodity, any oil that the US does not buy will just be bought by some other nation. The end result on the mid-east bank accounts and terror funding will be the same. Though if the US did get off at least you could demand some independance from the mid-east.

Alternatives to fossil fuels must be sought as well as more development of domestic and Canadian supplies.

BTW.. Pakistan, while definitely a loony tune muslim state and home to more America haters than your average Sheikhdom, is not an Arab state..

    • James

Mark, Well said. If Americans would let their cars stand idle for one day a week (say Saturday) the price of gasoline would collapse, and Mid-East oil producers would pull all their hair out.

  • Karolyn

Oh, boy, another Muslim-bashing article! John Meyers, the hate monger and his 2nd chapter. I can’t wait for the “vicilized” (HAHAHAHAH!) debate to begin. I’ve been doing homework on Islam, so that I can be more informed to fend off the attacks of the Islamaphobes. The more I read, the more I find that YOU guys are all wrong! Islam is not our worst threat; WE ARE!!

    • Karolyn

Yes, I meant “civilized.” I was typing too fast.

      • munday in Texas

karolyn we do not hate the muslims. We hate the Islamic manifesto, which does not allow me to practice my religion as I see fit and you may be for them or against them-this is still the USA, hoever I fear it will not be for long. I suggest you look up a gentleman by the name of Joel Richardson-books and DVD’s. You may be surprised at what you read and hear. Have a great day.

        It will be.
Every system that is in opposition to, not aligned with and carries out the desires of those who worship anything other than the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ will be judged on His timetable and justly rewarded for their despite and disobedience.

Erroric Bischoff, hope you’re listening. You haven’t written much sensible yet. • BigBadJohn

“The more I read, the more I find that YOU guys are all wrong! Islam is not our worst threat; WE ARE!!”

Absolutely correct! Fear mongering keeps people from examining the real issues and allows government to pull the wool over your eyes. A prime example was the war in Iraq, how many people here actually believed that Saddam was a threat to our national security? No proof, no fact at all, just fear mongering to whip people in to a frenzy!

From this article: “Gingrich also said he will oppose any efforts to impose Sharia on the U.S.” The agruement is about FREEDOM OF RELIGION, where do you get Sharia law from that? Would Sharia law affect religious freedom? Get real people……

      • munday in Texas

yes it does and the way things are going-just like in the UK I expect Michigan to be the first state under sharia law, which will mean no women can just walk around with out having a vale or without a male associate or relative with them. Its not the religion-its the whole, we control your life thing and we will not assimilate to your culture, we will over take and destroy yours, thing that I just cannot abide by.

      • Robert S

Mundy Islam couldn’t take over the US without the help of the gov’t. Can’t people see that they are bringing in Muslims and Mexicans by the millions to start a Civil War that the UN troops will finish. Get with it and stop reading all the Bs.

      • john

The UN troops could’nt fight their way out of a paper bag..it’ll be our own that turns against us..thats why they want gays and godless in the ranks to keep out any morals or fear of God.

      • FireMall

        Robert S:
I agree—regardless of how many here disagree with the writing on America’s wall of shame..
Here is my Op on what the Islamic ,so called by the left ,”Islamaphobia” actually entails.
“We The People” [non-Muslim ,US citizens of America} are no different than the so called Peaceful Muslims.imo.
Think about how the average citizen in America not being directly involved in America’s warfare. “WE” depend on our Military do do all the Dirty War jobs ,right ??
Now, Considering the Fact that Islam is a Self-Contained theocracy / society. Why is it that folks do not see thru the Diversions that the PC labeled Leftist call “Radical Muslims” / Terrorist “Are” Islam’s operational Branch of Islam’s Military??
Imo, Seeing “We The People’s” military thru the eyes of opposing Nations , I would say that the Enemies of America , consider The U.S. Military to be Radical American terrorist as “We” also see them, Right??
Imo, just because the Peaceful Muslims have not ,as far as I know, done anything directly to show them as my enemy , “does not” give me sufficient reason to assume they are “Not” my enemy.
Also, As Proven by the Peaceful Muslim’s actions & “or” / In-Actions of past attacks on America , Only serves to tell me ,they are silent Partners in said actions & Not too unlike what our enemies consider, the Peaceful-non-Muslim Americans as Enemies also..
I’ll stand corrected , “If” anyone here can factually Identify “Any” other group / entity of Islam that can be Identified as the Legitimate military/ Enforcement Branch of Islam.
Until such Proof is available , I will Say without hesitation, The So Called Radical Muslims “Are” Islam’s Military & the American’s Enemy. Period, End of Discussion.

      • Karolyn

“They” (Muslims as a whole) do not want this! It’s just the radicals, a very small percentage, who want to convert the world through their fanatacism. The majority of Muslims are peace-loving people who adhere to the Koran’s message of peace, love of God and charity. Those are the most important of the Koran’s precepts.

      • Angel Wannabe

Karolyn, if these radical Islamic terror groups are so small in comparison Islam as a s whole, why do they keep attacking, why is America incensed with stopping them, went to war over them, and continually hold us in fear now?

      • JC

Then the majority of peaceful Muslims should stand up and say they oppose the radicals. Until they do, they are all the same to me.
They call me an “infidel” so I’ll go along with one exception…that’s “MR. Major League Infidel” to you, Camel boy!

Seriously though…if the Muslim population in general denounces their own radicals, we have an ally in tracking down terrorists…not aiders and abetters.

      • FireMall

@ Karolyn: The “so called” small percentage of Radicals have more than a few times, in over 100 years , come close to Destroying America’s Security as well as our Peace of Mind in being fortunate to Live in a Free to Choose ,Nation.
By your own words about Percentages, So is Americ’a Military a Small percentage of the U.S.’s population. And just think about what damage “We” are capable of. Even when fighting in a Politically Correct War.
Consider what destruction The U.S. military could do if “WE’ Had an Admin that said “Go For It”, and actually allowed the U.S. military to use all available force to accomplish the goal of destroying the enemy.
Rules of engagement in War are no more than School yard rules of Defeat for the Politically Correct & Naive that are scared of their own shadows. I.E. “O”bama’s true demeanor. .
Imo –Your excuse for the Radical Muslim’s intent is Baseless in the Realm of Historical Facts.
I blame the Puzzies in Dot Gov for the Very reason “we” are having yet one more discussion about War with the Muslims today.
If “We” had a General McAurhter type running the War against your so called small percentage, without any PC interference from A coddling President & his Anti-America ,Czars / Marxist , this argument would not be a subject of discussion today & ,imo , 9/11 would have not occurred, as well as the last 60 or so years of fighting this never ending war.
Basically–In my world of reality, If one must fight , “There are No Rules” other than “Winning” and the enemy Will Not Want any more if the Beating is well delivered the first go round.

      • Karolyn

Angel – They are fanatics! It’s so logical. Small groups of people with a single mindset can do more damage than whole populations with diverse opinions. Those small groups can crontrol whole populations with fear too. We will never wipe them out because they are too smart and always have someone coming up the ladder behind them.

      • Karolyn

Fire – So you’re one of those people who would just go in and blow up a whole country to stop a few? Violence begets violence.

      • Angel Wannabe

Karolyn, my point is, these Muslims been stopped just prior to attacks plenty of times, just this year alone!! They blew up the Twin Towers and killed 3000 of our people, they’ve infiltrated our Army (FT Hood)___and I for one am NOT willing to give anyone of these people the benefit of the doubt, that belongs to this cult( Muslim is not a religion, it’s ideology)_-They’ve all got the same mind set. And the Muslim women that speak out in favor of this CULT, seriously fear they’re men, in turn they’ll say anything, to keep they’re noses from being sheared off by an angry husband!!!!!!! If this is a religion, then I’ve never heard of any religion, telling it’s people that Allah says to kill the infindels!!!_-THAT IS HOGWASH TO COIN YOUR PHRASE!

      • bilbo81670

Look, I know most Muslims are not terrorists, but most terrorists are Muslim. Until the “moderate” Muslims take a firm and visisble stand, Islam will always be reguarded with fear.

      • Karolyn

Angel – My answer to you is to become educated about Muslims before you speak about them as a whole. I’m sorry if I don’t know the exact name of the Immam, but he said that he would be the first to stand in between a Muslim terrorist and his target.

      • Karolyn

You have a very good point. In fear-based countries, they are so indoctrinated with fear, they are afraid to take a stand because they don’t know who their next leaders will be. As far as American Muslims, I can see there being more being done; however, I don’t know why they’re not doing more.

      • Angel Wannabe

Karolyn, quite honestly I realize there is bad in all cultures__ I wouldn’t go to their country and tell them how to live or what to tolerate, I expect the same here. I’m a little tired of being tolerant of a known enemy of our American way of life, and frankly I don’t have the time to sift through the lives of each Muslim I meet to try and determine if THIS ONE is gonna try and kill me!_-I’ve exaggerated, but you get my drift?!

      • Karolyn

Angel – I don’t know where I’ve been, but I haven’t heard any Muslims ta;l about trying to change this country. All I’ve heard is Muslim Americans talk about how much they love this country. Have you heard any Muslim Americans talk about anything at all or are you just listening to folkd like the extremists on this site?

      • Bob Wire

        “bilbo81670 says:

Look, I know most Muslims are not terrorists, but most terrorists are Muslim. Until the “moderate” Muslims take a firm and visible stand, Islam will always be regarded with fear.”

My thoughts exactly ~ I believe they don’t because they fear reprisal from these extreme elements of the Muslim faith. And it’s a lead pipe cinch their apprehensions are warranted. They got a big job on their hands.

They are not going to clean their own house and leaving it up to the “world community” to do it for them and then most likely claim to be persecuted for their faith.

Typical Jewish/Arab mindset ~ to defer all guilt and blame. “You made me what I am”

Abraham and Sara needed some better parenting skills is all I can figure~? It’s a family thang! I’m not anti-semantic , just tire of people not taking the personal responsibility.

I mean no offense to any one person and as a group of world citizens the Jews have contributed more then enough to offset this “family trait” we’ve learned to laugh at. But the Muslim community need to realized, you are only as good as your last rodeo and they are dragging up short and it’s getting old.

      • BigBadJohn

consider Ahmed’s response to Gaffney on CNN as he puts the likelihood of Sharia replacing the U.S. Constitution in its proper perspective:

If every Muslim in the United States of America, which is about 2 percent of the population, wanted Sharia — which is not the case at all — even if they wanted it, could they impose it over a population of 98 percent who are not Muslim in a democracy?

In my country where I come from, Pakistan, 98 percent of the population is Muslim. There is no Sharia law. I’ve been a commissioner in charge of large parts of the country. Our laws are criminal and civil procedure codes derived from British colonial law which go to Westminster, which in turn has influenced the U.S. Constitution.

So the notion of Sharia being implemented in America with about 2 percent of the population, to me, is mathematically absurd.

BigBadJohn, The Bible says that the only religion God created is Christianity. The apostle that Jesus loved wrote (1 John 2:15, 18-19): “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him…Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists…They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us…Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.” 2 John 9-11 reads: “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

      • Karolyn

James – Did you know that Islam reveres the Bible as sacred text and that they also revere Jesus, Moses and the prophets? The Bible is not the be-all and end-all as many of you would believe. There is much you close your eyes to in the guise of blind faith, believing what you and those before you have been taught. Did you know that there were virgin births written about with numerous similarities to that of Jesus hundreds (or more – It’s been a while since I gathered this info.) of years before his birth? Watch “Zeitgeist” for more truth. I doubt that you will because your mind is closed to any other beliefs.

That’s what they say it says for public consumption. They like the parts they like. The rest of it, the most important parts, they say were changed by people to reflect jewish heresies that God never intended. Mad Moham’ said his purpose was to set those parts back the way God originally wanted it to read. Of course, he also said his god would never send another prophet. So his words were to be the last and only message.
The big problem is the manuscript evidence does not indicate the types of changes Mad Moham’ bitched bout. It’s all devil spirit deceit from Mad Moham’. Just the Devil up to the same old tricks. He never comes up with anything original.

FireMall – You might call it biased; I call it talking to normal American Muslims. This is a point I’ve been trying to make. What’s wrong with having some good publicity about Muslims? What’s wrong with spreading food news rather than fear and hate?

        Karolyn:

“According to the Bible, the only true church is the Catholic church. I’m sure you don’t agree with that.”

Please undersdtand that the use of the term “catholic” in the Bible does not mean “The Roman Catholic Church.” It means “universal in reach, general.”

      • James

Karolyn, I know they infer that, but…their actions speak louder than their words. And near the Bible’s end we read: “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches… For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book. If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
Whatever the consequences, I’m bound by that. Our problem today is that many priests and pastors are saying ‘thus saith the Lord, when the Lord didn’t thus saith.’

      • James

Vigilant, the term “Catholic” does mean ‘univesal,’ but it isn’t in the Bible. The reason Martin Luther left that church was because of teachings, which he held were contrary to the Holy Writ. Read Revelation 22:16-19 above. His protests resulted in the Protestant (Latin for ‘they protest’) movement.

      • Vigilant

        James:

I believe you are right. If I’m not mistaken, the term “catholic” was used in either the Nicene or Apostles’ Creed (which predated Luther, of course).

I’m really sick of hearing about these so called virgin births hundreds of yrs before Jesus and so called christs who died on a cross for mankind before the real Jesus did, the book of Isaiah was written thousands of yrs ago in it christ was prophecied his virgin birth the fact he would die on a cross for mans sin and rise the 3rd day thats where those religions got the idea for their stories on Jesus, they ripped it off from the book of Isaiah hundreds of yrs before the real Jesus Christ was even born, no other Jesus was born of a virgin and no other Jesus died for mans sin except the one from the new testament period.

      • BigBadJohn

James, I hate to point this out to you, but the old testament is based in Judaism. When you refer to the bible it is truly two different books. One preaches “an eye for an eye” the other “turn the other cheek” or “let he who is without sin through the first stone”.

Do you believe in the word of Jesus Christ or the Jewish God of vengeance? ALL of Christ teachings were in the vein of “blessed are the poor, blessed are the meek”. How does this get twisted to “kill all non Christians”, as it has for the last 2000 years?

      • James

BigBad, Satan is the ‘Prince of this world,’ his goal is to kill all Christians. He does that by convincing them to fight each other. As to the Bible being two different books, I disagree. It only seems that way because of what has been preached about it. In Matthew 15:21-28, a woman of Canaan approached Christ, and He ignored her. (Mark 7:24-25 says Jesus hid from her when He saw her coming.) Matthew 10:5-6 says Jesus “commanded” His apostles to “rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” There is no conflict with that and the Old Testament. The New Testament is simply an extension of it.

    • Vigilant

      Karolyn:

While doing your homework, don’t forget to study up on Wahhabism and the teachings of Sayyid Qutb. Consider yourself blessed that you live in the USA, where you don’t run the risk of being stoned to death for marital infidelity or fornication. In fact, you could be denied an education altogether. And your homosexual friends, if you have any, would be subject to worse than Draconian measures for their practices.

Islamic works in English are purposely mistranslated to fool the reader. Suggest you learn Arabic and read the source documents in the original language and you may change your tune.

And don’t assume that even original works reflect the real world. You could have read the constitution of the Soviet Union and come away with a very nice impression of life in that gulag, but it wouldn’t be accurate. Similarly, reading the US Constitution (if you ever care to peruse that wonderful document) would not prepare you to face the reality of the statist, authoritarian government we have in this country today.

Finally, “fearmongering” can be much like paranoia: just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean there aren’t really people out to get you. And “fearmongering” doesn’t mean the threat doesn’t exist.

      • Karolyn

Just like the Bible is mistranslated to control people? I am well aware that there are extremists under Islam. There are extremists in any belief system. Just as there are different religions in Christianity, there are different groups under Islam. The majority of Muslims are hard-working, peaceloving people just like anybody else.

      Karolyn,
If you want to go ahead and call me a “muslim basher” then by all means, I will wear the label. I cannot abide, nor will I abide the people who have been warring against my God and my forefathers taking over my country little by little. The Qu’ran, if you read it, and I assume you have, is not a peaceful little book telling it’s followers and Muhhammad’s to abide by the law of the land that they emmigrate to, nor to love one another and get along. NOT AT ALL Karolyn. So, I’m sorry, I will worship GOD THE FATHER ALMIGHTY, the one who wrote the book of Revelation as revealed to John, through the Almighty Jesus, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. If you don’t believe it, then why don’t you turn on the news, get out a newspaper, and read the book of Revelation? In the meantime, get out a Qu’ran, and read some about Jihad. Then CALL ME A MUSLIM BASHER, CAUSE THAT’S WHAT I AM. Mohommad was a false prophet, and he always will be.

      • eddie47d

Spike It’s one thing to know the history of Muslims but to proudly proclaim you are a Muslim basher can lead to unsavory acts. It only takes a few to stir up the passion in many. Are Jew bashers civilized? What did their thought process lead to? The Bible also says in Psalms 37:1 “Do not provoke the evil doers”, and in vs 7 “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently. Do not be provoked by the one who prospers, the one who succeeds in evil schemes”. Vs8, “Refrain from anger, leave rage alone;do not be provoked;it leads only to evil”. It’s hard to tell if you are informing or provoking.

      • Karolyn

Dennis, I agree, but as long as Christian pastors and priests teach a common origin of mankind (with its implication that all men were created equal), White Christian America is doomed. We are now experiencing the effects of that erroneous doctrine. It is estimated that by the year 2050, Whites will be a minority in their own country. (They are already a minority in three states.) I say “their own country” because all of the colonists were White Christians. True, they came from five different European nations, but they were all of the same race and religion. Stated otherwise, the Founding Fatheers never intended for America to become the melting pot it has become.

      • Mike In MI

James – if you’d stopped to think about that public self-embarrasment you’d realize that it’s the same as saying God only wants and only accepts lily-white caucasian converts in this country. Your thought defames and dishonors God’s good name.
Jesus Christ took the trip to Calvary that “whoever will may come”, believe God raised him from the dead and commit to his lordship. Then, if they want to learn about all the tremendous things God can do for them they can study The Bible and apply what they learn. It might do you some good to do that rather than just sit in the pew and regurgitate whatever some other idiot defiles you with.

      • James

Mike, I was just stating an historical fact. Every colony had laws against miscegenation, with heavy fines imposed on those who broke them. I would suggest reading Dred Scott v. Sandford (1854?), it’s an excellent history of that time.
Biblically, Matthew 10:5-6 reads: “These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” The epistle of James starts with: “James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.”
Every writer in the New Testament was of the two-tribe House of Judah, except Luke who was from the ten-tribe House of Israel. For the first ten years in the Christian era, the only Christians were of the House of Judah.

      • James

Mike, Back when all twelve tribes of Israel were in Palestine (under King David) the Lord told Nathan the prophet to tell this to David: “Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more as beforetime.”
This place where God “will plant them” and from which they will “move no more” cannot possibly be in Palestine. That place is America.

It’s frightening to know that Godless people run our govt. They have no understanding of religion or treat it with disdain, but the fact of the matter is a religious conflict is coming.A culture war. When people turn their back to God and live sinful lives(abortion, homosexuality, unethical science, occultism etc)God will turn those people over to their enemies. The threat of Islam began with Khomeinis Islamic revolution. They deposed the shah who allowed Western influence into Iran. The purpose from there is to spread this revolution across the face of the earth. It is a duty of Muslims according to the Koran to do this,by force if nescessary. At first they spread the revolution by forming political groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas within other Muslim dominated countries. They realize they can never successfully invade Europe militarily,so they emigrate in large numbers into Western Europe and have 10-12 children at a time. They see and know the zero population growth of the Western world otherwise known as a (death population)as Europeans as well as Americans abort millions of children a yr and those who do have families only have 1-2 children..not enough to sustain a culture. The Muslims know it’s only a matter of time before the invasion through the womb wins out.Germany,France and England,Spain and Italy are basically defeated. The only thing that offsets it here is the illegal immigrants of South America(Christian origin). The only true way to combat this is too turn back to God.Have larger families and trust in God to provide.Reject the immoral and unnatural laws that these godless fools in office impose on us in order to satisfy the thirst of extremist agendas(gay marriage..the attack on the family by gays..who want to force their perverse lifestyle on us and children)the abortion industry needs to be destroyed through political means, and to rid our school systems and our govt, of socialists, commies and leftist liberals who despise all that this nation stands for.If you have children, please don’t be satisfied with what they are being indoctrinated with in schools..pay attention to what they’re being taught and please speak out against something you see wrong. He who controls the past controls the future..he who writes the textbooks controls the minds. All this talk is a waste if we don’t start the change in the home.A silent revolution..strenghten the family and we’ll have a better chance to turn the tide against radical agendas, this is not a Democrat-Republican thing or a race or certain religious faith thing..this is for country and family. We as Americans need to stand together against the radical poison that has gone unchecked in our schools and govt.It all starts in the home.Men need to be men again and women need to let them and to be women as well.

What’s even more frightening is any religion at all. You are all fanatics and religion needs to remain private between you and god. It needs to stay out of the public where one can be judged for his beliefs and it definitely must stay out of politics.

You are either a righteous person or a creep. It really does not matter what your religion is. God knows there are plenty of religious creeps.

      • AMJ

Religion plays a great part of this. A man’s beliefs influence his actions. Politics and Religion go hand in hand. The reason our political system is such a mess is be cause our political leaders have no morals, they are unethical. They answer to no one. If they answered to God, they would make better decisions regarding their lives and for the lives of the people they claim to represent.

Obama had the nerve to think THINK he was speaking for me when he said we are not a Christian nation…well, he doesn’t make that decision. They think they are above God, above the law. The President was never given the right by anyone to MAKE A LAW.

      • Wayne

Eric, do you suppose those two youngsters who shot up their school out in Colorado a few year ago, and killed several of the students, then killed themselves, would have still done that if they had been raised with religion, or had known that a higher power does indeed, exist and they would be held responsible? Of course your type will make excuses for anything so it will not surprise me what stupid answer you will come back with. I don’t see any problem with religion in school, or any public place, as long as every one has the same opportunity to practice their own religion.

      • spike

        Wayne,
Please do not assume that “religion” cures all evil and hate. If those kids had truly known God, through his son, they probably would not have performed such a hateful act of violence. However, “religion” doesn’t just mean God. It could mean Islam –who worship Allah, not God, or it can mean any number of man made religions. Religion is not a cure for anything. That’s why God sent Jesus, and that’s why Jesus did not die to give us a “religion”, he died to give us a relationship with GOD THE FATHER ALMIGHTY.

      • Wayne

spike, you have to base you facts on common sense, experience and by reasoning. I am not a snot nosed kid. I have been around for many years. I do have experience in my corner. I have worked around the public for over thirty years in law enforcement. I spent 4 years in the USAF. I can emphatically state, if a youngster is taught the proper values by his parents throughout his child hood, taught to respect himself, his elders, his teachers, law enforcement officers and the Golden Rule, due unto others as you would have them do unto you, I will guarantee you that this person would make an honest person, and would be a good person to serve as a Congress member, or any other job that involves a trust worthy person. It seems today that a lot of our younsters are not being brought up that way. You have your opinions based on the way you were raised by your parents, and what ever experience you have gained on your own. I have my opinions based on that same reasoning. I have been in this world for 72 years. I am proud the way I was raised by my parents. I still believe in the Golder Rule and will take that belief to my grave.

Your a complete fool..the whole point of religion is to announce and teach about God..what would be the point to have religion if you were to keep quiet…thats utter nonsense.Try looking around at creation and deny that this was all created by accident over and over again. You,my friend will soon come to know God exists in our lifetime. He will reveal Himself to you eventually in a way you may not like.It is people like you who are actually the problem with why the world is the way it is.By living according to mans whimsicle passions you allow the killing of babies in the womb to become law, sexual promiscuity which spreads disease, perversions, and devalues people for what they were created for.Look at societies that have no religion or supress and persecute it..China,Russia,N.Korea etc. What are you atheists so afraid of?In trying to pass religion or the existence of God off as some fairy tale for the foolish..it is you who are the fools.

      • spike

I can’t quite figure you out, Eric. You talk like you don’t believe in God (because if you want to keep him in the closet, you don’t), and if you don’t let God govern you, and your actions, then you don’t.
However, you end with a statement about God. Obummer does the same stuff. “splain, Lucy”

      • Beth

Eric you need to know you are on a political debate online and attacking other people’s comments that may not agree with yours doesn’t mean attack at them. Stay out of politics man!

    • Don

The Christians need to read the Quran. The first thing you’ll notice is how much it is like the Bible. Both of these religions have a lot in common. And both have been corrupted by their believers.
The US Government to function the best must be “Godless”. If a single Religion is allowed to rule, we will wind up with a Country that dictates what you are allowed to like or do. It will be contrary to the reason the US exists.
Bush Jr. lead us into this recession because he allowed his Religion to dictate how he functioned as President.
There is a reason our forefathers believed in the seperation of Church and State. Religion does not allow for true Freedom. Commuism is a lot like Religion, it dictates what people are to believe in and how they must live.
You are free to believe in whatever you want because the Government is “Godless”.

      • John Woodbury

Don stop sipping (or in your case guzzling) the Obama-aid and do some reading. It was not Bush’s fault (and I am not a fan of that RINO), he tried to stop it. It was a Dumbocrat idea and protected by Dumbocrats. I think the only non-lie was Rham,s, “We did not know it would be this bad.” Because they planned this recession to insure the Dumbocrat candidate would be elected.

These are all lawyers running the show. There are no carpenters, machinist, ministers, doctors etc., just lawyers. At one time in the 13 colonies lawyers were not allowed to practice their trade within the towns boundaries because of the way they twisted the truth, deceived the people. And now they are selling out this country. Is it to late to vote them out, and is the course of this country already set in stone? We need to take care of everyone on this side of the world first, Canada, Mexico, South America. We need to trade with these country’s first. Just maybe if we had more MADE in MEXICO products in the U.S. we would have less illegals. Remember when you pray, don’t pray to a higher power because satan is a higher power and he is the one pulling the strings (don’t believe me just look at all of the evil in this world) but call God by his rightful name YAHWEH God of Abraham, you’ll get a lot better results. And remember people getting down on your knees puts you in good standing with God.

We have to insist on getting rid of our dependence on Middle eastern Oil. The only thing we are accomplishing with this , is empowering Islam, which is our most serious threat.

Unfortunately our ruling class is set and based on greed, hence our dependency and our demise with respect to other powers.

One example, the recent stimulus package. We could have built 149 nuclear plant around the country, generating at least 2 million jobs during the construction of these and 1.5 million permanent jobs for the next generation. But no, this Muslim deceiver we have in the WH, needs our country to be broke so that the financial dependency of Islam can impose it’s condition on us.

Islam is not a religion and should be looked at by our government as a seditious organization which in in direct conflict with our constitution and our laws. Why hasn’t anybody done anything ? This is a matter of life or death of our civilization .

These people want to overthrow our government and we are simply letting them do want ever they want because our PC !!!!

Give them a taste of their Sharia Law, demand a tax other wise a real war attacking Islam at it’s base with all nuclear option on the table would be unleashed . Lets see if the reverse Sharia is liked .

    • Mike In MI

      Henry -
You want to shut Islam down? Just get group of freedom lovers to threaten the Moslem imams that if they don’t back off, the area around the Hajj will become a glass surfaced sand pit. Idolatry has a huge dependence on it’s icons, statues and symbols. Symbology and fantastical fluff is terribly important to idolaters because they have nothing that stands without it. (That’s why Martin Luther was hounded every day of his life after he nailed the 95 Theses to the door in Wittenberg. But, God helped him and protected his life and study. There is a huge reality undergirding everything God does and establishes. There is a big difference beween something being resistable but, yet, indomitable.)
For that reason I would like to reiterate this:
Every Christian who knows that God Almighty underwrites and undergirds His Word and is faithful to It needs at this time to rely on Him and do what He asks. One thing He asks is that we “Pray for kings and all those in authority that we may live quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and honesty” – I Timothy 2:1,2. If you pray in the spirit with that passage and Obama, Reid and Pelosi’s faces in mind it will have effects at which you will be amazed.
God wants us to live peaceable lives. Obama doesn’t. So by praying with him in mind you initiate God’s hand to throw their efforts and works back on their own heads. Or else God

This article lack to mention that a majority of our US politicians have a huge stake in Saudi oil: their stock portfolios. A large source of their wealth is due to oil stock they have. This is not just a Democratic thing, it is all parties.
Besides the rumors of this article, another one is that the oil from Canada is not being blocked to favor the Saudis, but to use up what they have so the US and it’s Allies will control the World’s oil sources.
Currently the US alone has enough oil Reserves to supply the US and Canada for the next 50 to 100 years (current verses projected due to energy conservation/alternative energy). The US does not need any foreign oil: The US buys oil because it is the largest supplier of oil to Countries that can not afford to buy directly from OPEC, and the US Citizens pay the difference.
One truth about this article is that alternatives to oil use are being blocked by our Government, but it is not by a select few, it is by the majority because of the staggering loss of revenue individual politicians would suffer if their oil stock value dropped.

    • BigBadJohn

“Currently the US alone has enough oil Reserves to supply the US and Canada for the next 50 to 100 years (current verses projected due to energy conservation/alternative energy). You may be on to something there.
The USA and Canada have enough Natural Gas to supply the world, but oil is still historically cheap. Natural Gas burns cleaner with less CO2 and vehicles can easily be converted to use it. Run the world out of oil, sell natural gas as the cleaner energy solution and the USA becomes the energy supplier of the world.

Do some research on the Natural Gas ACT.:
      http://www.examiner.com/global-warming-in-national/natural-gas-act-vote-delayed

      • JC

Oil companies have pretty much stopped looking for natural gas. They have so much of it capped they don’t know what to do with it.
As for oil supply…check out “the Bakken Field”, interesting if nothing else…

      • Wayne

I heard on television last week that the government is buying up large tracks of land in the energy rich areas of the West. I am wondering if it is in the Balkan area. Then would prevent us from drilling there once the government gets their hands on it. I am telling you folks, I don’t trust NObama and the current Democrats in Congress. I think these Democrats are Communist and Socialist that had ran on the Democrats tickets just to get themselves in power. We know that they could have never made it in Congress if they had ran on any other ticket. We have not choice to vote the career politicians and liberals out of office and put in some new conservatives that will bring our country back to where we once were.

Sorry: Big Bad John.. 20 years ago, I was the first certified Natural Gas fuel system installer in the county in which I live in. The program was funded by a partnership between Dot Gov’s Greenie goofs & The Natural Gas Corps & the State University here. the University’s truck was a million $$ + Dot Gov waste of money , Even though the Experimental truck’s Performance was enhanced to un-belivable levels it still would not equal the MPG of a standard production vehicle. Just one more Dot Gov Joke on the Taxpayers.
NG is the most Inefficient Fuel for a motor vehicle to ever be attempted at using as an alternative fuel. NG is even worse than the Ethanol which, after “WE’ are stuck with the Brazilian ratio of 85% ethanol will cut MPG to around 50% of Gasoline’s mpg.
Both alternative fuels require more than double of gasoline to create the equal BTU’s that are the standard for gaging efficiency. thus 2-3 times the volume for the same MPG efficiency.
For a 1/2 ton pickup to have the same fuel range as gasoline , I took 3, 80 gallon tanks in the bed of the truck . Thus, Eliminating all payload capacity.
The fuel tank filling took around one hour per tank to fill to 4000 lbs pressure. Homeland Security wouldn’t be fool enough to allow this size of Potential Bomb on the road.
I have no clue why I am ranting about this crap when most here know that it has Nothing to do with saving the environment & the evil fossil fuel usage , It’s all about who will “control” the Next energy commodities. I.E. The “duped” Masses.
BTW;;; By my Domestic Oil producer customers verification , The US has over 100% of oil on hand for the winter season after a slow usage summer, So, Who is Gaming the Oil Future’s Market??
It sure as he-l ain’t the laws of Supply & Demand.

Try a little research on the Haynesville Shale play on the TX, LA border. It is one of the worlds largest natural gas fields. And trust me, we are sinking them as fast as we can. I work for Halliburton there and we frac 6 wells 24/7 for the most part.

    • Disgusted

You are right on the mark. There is absolutely no reason we couldn’t be oil independent in this country. New innovations exist that could free us from oil dependence, they are buried or made so expensive the average person can’t afford them. We as a nation need to bite the bullet and make a real committment to becoming oil independent and our government needs to fall in line – no matter what. Unfortunately, it is all about the mighty $$ -even though that $ is worth pennies.

      • Christin

        Disgusted,
You are Right, America could be oil independent… see my post above.

Why won’t they let us drill from our own plentiful resouces…

        It’s more than the $money$…

They are “redistributing our wealth” to the Middle East by FORCING us to buy foreign oil AND
I believe it is about crushing America’s Economic, Military, Social (Family & God), and Constitutional STRENGTH.

“They” can’t collapse our country if we are Strong in those ways and NOT dependant on “them” and other countries for everything.

They must take away We The People’s strength and power to transform us to the NWO.

    • Vigilant

      Don:

I suspect there is a lot of truth to what you say. The oil reserves in Saudi Arabia reached the “tipping point” a few years ago (there are now less than 50% remaining reserves from the original amount).

Could the moratorium on deep water drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, and the slow-rolling of oil shale development in the Rockies, be an indication that Obama/Pelosi/Reid are doing us a long term favor, unintentional as that may be?

      • Christin

        Vigilant,

        Favors… obama/peolsi/reid… really?

NO such luck… read my post above.

    • Wayne

I have no supporting documents to prove or disprove this, but I do believe that what you are saying, have a lot of merit, Don. Why else would this good for nothing Congress buy oil from our enemies instead of from our friends, the Canadians. I have a suspicion that they are tied in with OPEC, some how, or we would do more drilling in our own country. I say let’s vote these career politicians, out of office if we are ever going to get this country back on it’s feet again. The Democratic party are loaded with Communist, Socialist and a mixture of everything else. We need people with principles and a love for this country as our Congress members. Let’s get the wolves who are dressed in sheep clothing out of our govenment before they completely destroy this country. I suggest that you Democrats go back for the last one hundred years and check out the years the Democrats were in power, and the years the Republicans were in power and see when we had the best economy, under the Democrats, or the Republicans. I have been hearing the Democrats on TV screaming we want to help the middle class and not he big corporations. Just be thankful we have those big corporations so they are able to hire you Democrats. Let’s quit taxing the corporation. The Democrats says let’s tax the big corporation and give the middle man a break. This is strickly BS as we all should know by now, intelligent people will know this, that when you tax the big corporations it all falls back on the consumer to pay. In essence you are paying your share plus the corporations share which makes you pay double. Yes, we know, the Democrats give a lot of money here and there to help their own district, but this money is coming from the workers paychecks so the Democrats can get more votes our of you. People, don’t fall for all the crap the Democrats are telling you. If you do, you are a fool. Of course, we have some Republicans that do the very same thing. Let’s get rid of them too.

      • Mike In MI

It is really difficult to figure out why Obama does things, isn’t it?
I’d like to refer you to an article in Sep 27,’10 FORBES magazine by Dinesh D’Souza on what it is that motivates Obama. It makes no sense to us what Obama does unless you look at the philosophy of his father. It makes no sense because his reasonings come from a different place and time. If D’Souza is right we’re being lead by the “Ghost” of Obama’s father being expressed in the son – which he acquired at his father’s grave, according to “Dreams From My Father”.

If we’re being led by a “ghost”…Man…we gotta get this hobo off our train.

      • spike

How about if somebody answers this question: What are we going to do if, indeed, we vote these a***holes out, and he veto’s everything.
CAN THEY REPEAL HEALTHCARE? CAN THEY GET ANYTHING DONE?

      • Wayne

spike, if enough conservatives get in Congress next month they can over ride the presidents veto. It takes 2/3 of the House and the Senate to do that.

      • eddie47d

Rambling Wayne on blaming the Democrats; Since these “nasty politicians” have been buying oil from our Middle East enemies for decades then that means Nixon,Reagan,Clinton and the Bushes are also un-American commies. How about Truman and Eisenhower? They were involved in the take over of Iranian oil fields in 1953 so they must be the kingpins of un-Americanism. Once again it’s all Obama’s fault when he is only carrying on our oil traditions;or is he trying to change those traditions and that is what you don’t like.

      • Wayne

Eddie, you are so right. We have had a lot of RINO’s (Republicans in name only) in Congress that needs voted out of office right along with the Democrats. That is what the Tea Parting has been trying to do, if you notice. What we need is people with Conservative Values that know how to control the government’s purse strings, quit all the pork, and giving our money away to foreign countries. Plus lowering taxes and bringing back good jobs to this country, not NObama’s Food Stamps. It wouldn’t hurt to get rid of the lobbyist that wine and dine the Congress either. If you had some one in there that was honest, and had common sense we would not be in this situation were in now.

      • Don

You are correct that it is not only the Democrats, but also the Republicans. It is any politician that has oil stock that is part of allowing the US Citizens foot the bill. They are also responsible for keeping our economy from climbing out of this recession. Obama inherited this, and can’t control it. On this issue he is nothing but a pawn.
Regardless of what party, we need to get all the incumbents out of Congress. We need to get rid of career politicians altogether. For our Government to work for the People, we need to rotate out each Sen and Rep every 2 – 4 years. This will help reduce lobbying and prevent laws/regulations that help the few. Getting rid of the “good ol’ boys” of every Party will help the US to become a strong Nation again.

      • LocalYokel

Taxing the rich was a popular scheme used in the passage of sixteenth amendment ratified Feb. 3, 1913. (The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration). Amendment ratification process required separate state actions and was riddled by the same typo omissions and / or additions as did the democratic party candidate certification forms used in 2008. Responsibility for these convenient errors are at top level.
The Federal Reserve Act ratified Dec. 23, 1913 has been responsible for constantly declining buying power of the US dollar and elevating all incomes to a higher bracket for application of higher taxation provided by sixteenth amendment.
As long as nobody is hanged for such treachery you can’t expect them to stop using such an effective dirty trick. Expect more lame duck tricks after November.

  • dan az

Making the American’s (and by extension the West’s) situation even worse are new reports coming from the International Energy Agency stating that “under pressure” from the US government they have been “deliberately underplaying” a looming Global oil shortage for fear of triggering panic buying and raising the Americans fear over the end of oil supremacy because it would threaten their power over access to our World’s last remaining oil resources.

To the scariest “end game” maneuvers being made by Obama, in his attempt to protect Americas Global hegemony, is his record shattering move in plunging the United States $3.5 Trillion further into debt, and which raises the total amount owed by the United States, to its citizens and the World, to the unprecedented height of over $106 Trillion.

    • Mike In MI

      Dan,
How does all that make sense when Bob Livingston told us months ago that America has one of the largest reserves of oil in the world out in N. and S. Dakota, Montana and our (good) neighbor Canada. The Moslem-in-Chief just won’t allow anybody to tap it.

      Eric Bischoff-
As for green power – no one will ever be able to set up a green energy system without first expending huge amounts of energy of the sorts available to us NOW. You numbnuts are all trying to shut down what we have at this moment— BEFORE THE NEW STUFF YOU WANT IS EVEN IN PLACE. How stupid can you be. I guess, as stupid as it’s possible to be.
Just as an aside does it ever enter your mind just how much work gets done by two and four stroke small engines which you are going to just put in the junk heap? Stuff like lawnmowers, tractors, chain saws, roto-tillers, generators, hedge-timmers, blowers, construction tools and things that have been developed because people want and need them. So, I guess you’re just making yourselves the arbiters of what’s right and good for us because you think you know how things ought to be so? Therefore, since your intentions are good you’re the one who can tell the rest of us what our rights are? I don’t think that’s any sort of America I learned about years ago.
You think you should push us this way? Well, when Americans finally figure out what you REALLY have in mind – you’re going to find out what “push” means.

        Dear Mike In MI,

I don’t believe I ever said any such thing. And John Myers has debunked the Bakken myth on more than occasion. However, this administration is doing all it can to prohibit us from drilling the remaining oil that is available both in country and off-shore.

        Best wishes,
        Bob

      • bilbo81670

Bob the Bakken is no myth. I work for Halliburton and we fraced a well with 32 stages using Stim Sleeve tech. It is flowing over 3000 bbls a day, ON A CHOKE. A few thousand of those suckers and we can be totally off foreign oil. And with the low estimate of 2 trillion bbls of recoverable oil, it should last a VERY long time.

      • Eric Bischoff

You obviously have areading and comprehension problem. You must be a product of the public school system. I never said any such a thing. I merely stated that I was willing to invest in myself so that I could produce more energy and use less. It’s a transition period. Seems to me that if more people were willing to do that we’d be in a better situation. We could have started this in the 70s when Carter put solar panels on the while house. We could have followed his lead. But I guess some of you still think that’s stupid. Just think where we could be today in terms of solar production. But no! we threw him out and elected the treasonous Reagan who made secret deals with the Iranians and who then immediately took down the solar panels, canceled free college education, deregulated banking and helped start HMOs. You all voted for him, you got what you wanted and now you try and blame it all on the last guy.

      • dan az

        Eric Bischoff
Do you mean the Reagan that when elected bombed irans coast line and put one in kadafies house when He took office? And as far as the ARCO panels that where owned by the big oil companies that took the prices up so high that no one could afford them and the same with BP panels?
why do you think that all of the oil companies are buying up the solar industry and pushing the prices up? Trust me when I say that big energy is behind it also. Think about it if you pay say 30,000 dollars for a half way decent system and sell back to the grid for pennies on the dollar it would take way to many years to recoup your investment. But in the end if every one did it then why would they even start there generators if you are making the power for them? And did you know that with the new systems of today that you dont even have a battery back up,when the grid goes down so do you!Ive lived off the grid for about 16yrs now and wouldnt even consider ever going back on.But if you dont know what your doing then I wouldnt advise it to all.

      • eddie47d

Mike; Folks have been asking for change in our oil policies for 40-50 years. The wake up call was sounded long ago and you still are looking for more excuses for not changing. We all know we depend on oil and we depend on it too much. That gives us even greater urgency to enact positive changes so we will have oil for those necessary functions that can’t run on anything but oil. When you invest in the stock market it’s best to diversify. The same can be said about energy products for the survival of our nation.

      • dan az

        mike in mi
this is what they have been doing and not telling the truth yes we do have some of the largest supplies in the world and they are untapped and capped for when the prices go up and up then they will release some of them for much higher prices. Its all about the dollar.Lie to the people stop drilling and what happens and if they keep lying long enough then everyone will start to believe it.

Russian Military Analysts are reporting to Prime Minister Putin today that US President Barack Obama has issued orders to his Northern Command’s (USNORTHCOM) top leader, US Air Force General Gene Renuart, to “begin immediately” increasing his military forces to 1 million troops by January 30, 2010, in what these reports warn is an expected outbreak of civil war within the United States before the end of winter.

According to these reports, Obama has had over these past weeks “numerous” meetings with his war council about how best to manage the expected implosion of his Nations banking system while at the same time attempting to keep the United States military hegemony over the World in what Russian Military Analysts state is a “last ditch gambit” whose success is “far from certain”.

And to Obama’s “last ditch gambit”, these reports continue, he is to announce in a nationwide address to his people this coming week that he is going to expand the level of US Military Forces in Afghanistan by tens of thousands of troops, while at the same time using the deployment of these soldiers as a “cover” for returning to the United States over 200,000 additional American soldiers from the over 800 bases in over 39 countries they have stationed around the Globe bringing the level of these forces in America to over 1 million, a number the US Military believes will be able to contain the “explosion of violence” expected to roil these peoples when they learn their economy has been bankrupted.

If it’s true about the military gearing up for a Civil War our own Military will find out they can’t beat the American people when we are mad. Even if we lose we can break the backs of the NWO. You’ll know when the time is right because the little weasels will all disappear into their underground bunkers.

      • slickporsche

I’m not too worried about our military, because what Obama don’t know is the US military will turn on him like a angry dog. Most of the military will side with the American people and our freedom. That is in essence what our military thinks they are doing anyway. WE also need to do like our forfathers, and get a foreign power to assist us in our fight against this horrible government. Australia, Canada,France?????

It’s mind boggling that the “O” lovers did not hear “O”bama Speak these Words from His own lips. “Civil Disobedience Forces” are needed. What the Heck do some here think that means ??

Not trying to lump all military into one bucket, However , I have noticed for Years, that the Recruiters have lowered the entry standards to what I consider a Very Low & dangerous level,[even Lower than the Commander in Chief & imo Thats really low ] as to what type personnel they allow in the service. I.E. gangbangers = OK, Felons= Ok, certain known enemies of America, = Great !, the more the better of these kind of Sharia Law folks. ref; Fort Hood shooter.
I have to consider the possibility that these type soldiers & Moral compasses have the Potential to ignore the Laws & their Oaths to Follow the Socialist Utopia Rainbow of “O”.

My husband and I went to Alaska last April for six months. On our way out in the last week in April ’09, we went through 5 Canadian provinces. During that time I recieved .20 on every American dollar spent. When we returned, we went through Canada again. This time I was told that the currencies were equal to Canada’s. We weren’t bankrupt but this was the first time in my life that it has ever been this low. I knew then something was happening.

      • Donald

The Canadian Dollar has worth more than the US Dollar several times over the last 2o or so years. The market fluctuates.

      • patricia

I agree, it fluctuates ordinarily, however, since Nov, 09, it has progressively gone down. I’m not saying it dropped like a cement block, just very slowly gone down.

We can only hope that it will be sooner then later. There is a site that I have been reading called Pakalert Press that I tried to post, but it never seems to take.Dont know why it must be the lack of knowing how that stops it.This is where I have found some very intresting reading.

How about the 1000 tanks being sent to California when it defaults or the massive number of Canadian troops that are being sent to that state? So you believe all this?

It makes no difference if this prez or his jock strappers are guilty via ignorance or sabotage. The net effect is the same.
For a prez who sees alternative energy as a panacea
(and oil as an absolute liability), he has done nothing to make the US any less dependent on expensive foreign oil. This is the behavior of someone who cares NOTHING for America.
He has chosen to put all future Americans in generational debt and indentured servitude. Wakey, wakey, America. By the time alternative energy makes a positive difference in America, America will be in ruins, and it won’t make any difference
who wants to be your next “leader.”

      Right s c ,
If I wanted to own and run the world, control all its resources and have everybody honor ME I’d first have to get all the big dogs off the street. If the biggest dog was a country filled with basically good and benevolent people but proven powerful and formidable foes when aroused I have to take away their means of fighting back.

Folks we’re broke and Obama has reduced our military to the lowest levels since “Peanuts” Carter ran the nation into the ground. We live in an illusion of wealth (we’re BROKE) and normalcy. Worse we have a president who shows every indication of coddling or even siding with people whose basic driving philosophy tells them they should rule the world and they should kill or dominate anybody who doesn’t think the way they do.

Folks, winter is coming and we have a president who won’t listen to us, goes on vacation every time a problem comes up, circumvents or ignores every Constitutional demand in his way, obviates or co-opts to his purposes every check or balance designed to disperse and spread control of power, appoints without Congress’ review aides and power grabbers with subjugating authority. Do you remember a couple of years ago he warned us, “We are just Five weeks away from fundamentally transforming America.”?

Are you satisfied he meant what he said? Moreover, are you content and approving of the direction the changes are pushing us?

      • Wayne

Mike, I agree with you. I think Nobama is deliberately ruinng this country. I think most of the older folks can see through this man, but I am not certain those between 18 & 50 years of age can comprehend what Obama is talking about. He talks the talk, but that is a lot of hot air. One thing he warned us about is when the “Cap & Trade” pssses our energy prices would necessarily skyrocket. When he told Joe The Plumber that we would all have to share in the wealth really concerned me. People did not even question this president when he said that he was going to “fundamentally change this nation”. Wouldn’t you have thought the folks who voted for him would have thought, what does he mean by this? How is he going to do this and etc? We all know that by this statement that change can be for the good, or for the worst. I guess the dummies that voted for him did not even question the idiotic statement he made when he said that he was going to “fundamentaly change this nation”. When I hear NObama talking on televsion, which I rarely do, and then I see what he is doing to this nation, I just have to shake my head in disbelief, and think, how could 53 percent of the people been fooled by this man? That is kind of scary, is’t it. These people who voted for him just did not know what he stood for and they did not take the time to check him out. Shame on them!!!!

If he indeed was sincere and his agenda isn’t what you guys say, then there would be no “executive order” to implement martial law. But there is. and we all know it. The founding fathers gave power to the congress and the senate to prevent what is happening now. So that we could not have a dictator, and gave the people ther “right to bear arms” so that we could defend ourselves in case of any event. They are trying to strip us of our right to bear arms, and they are trying to set up a dictatorship. Wake up. “Double-speak”…really? Oh, and there are just lots and lots of “dollars, dollars, dollars” bloating the DoD budget. edduh, there are going to be lots of dollars, dollars, dollars bloating every single budget everywhere…SO? Those dollars are only as good as Obumbbler’s word. See, he and Butchie-boy, Paulson and The-tax-cheat, Bawney Phwuanque and Chrass Dudd (Sec’y of Treasury [what a misnomer: treasure-y]) have stripped out all the wealth the system held. Without public and international confidence in the value of those dollars their intrinsic worth plunges. Lots and lots of dollars with a huge $0.oo for value. Can’t buy guns, ammo, planes, copters and platforms with promisory ‘Bammer bucks.
Perhaps we should print all dollars with Obama’s face on them. At least then we’ll get some satisfaction when we start using them in place of toilet paper because they are so valuable.

    • Don

It is not the President that has kept America buying foreign oil, it is the members of Congress that keeps us buying foreign oil because they have a vested interest in it. They own stock in the oil companies and the biggest profit for them is buying expensive foreign oil and reselling it cheaper to poorer Countries and passing the cost off to the American citizens.
If you want change, then you need to get rid of both the Dems and Republicans, and any other Party member, that own oil stock. Getting rid of Bush Jr. was a good thing. My only problem with Palin was she did not know how to separate her Religion from being a politician. She would have been just as bad as Bush in the long run, especially if she became President. Obama was the lesser of the “evils”.
Hillary was the only one who understood that we need to funnel the money back into the pockets of the working class to get our economy running strong again. Though she is a Democrat, she understands that the economy does not “trickle down”, it rushes upward. It is the working class that spends the money that keeps our economy moving. The rich, and especially the super rich, hoard the money, it is why they are rich. The rich main drive is to become the richest and don’t care what it takes. As much as we can disagree with her (most only because she is a Democrat), she would have had the economy picking up more than any other candidate.

As far as alternate energy goes, if solar was cheap to install and maintain, it would reduce the amount of oil and coal we need to use. It won’t replace them, but by reducing the need for them would help us both economically and the Earth’s climate.
Wind generation is not efficient for large scale production. It may be better in the future, but today it just doesn’t cut it.
Nuclear is still too dangerous. As a person who once was being recruited to become a Nuclear Physicist, I can tell you first hand we still only understand a fraction of what we are doing with it, and the waste is a huge problem. We need to learn how to properly control the process and how to reduce the waste to practically nothing before Nuclear can become a safe alternative.
Hydrogen is a viable source. Ways to produce it in quantities that will make it cheaper to use are in development. It is the best alternative today if enough funding is diverted to research to make it a more efficient process. It can also be the best alternative for fueling cars, but it also needs more funding to make it viable.
Oil is bad mainly because of the CO it produces. The cost would not be so bad if politics was not involved. America does not need, nor have we needed, nor will we need one drop of foreign oil. The Reserves, let alone what is still being discovered and what we know about but have no current plans of touching, is more than enough to supply the US and Canada for the foreseeable future. If we get those who depend on oil for their wealth out of the Government, it would be an extremely affordable resource, though not the best for the Earth’s climate. Efficient burning would help, but we do need to move to cleaner sources in the long run.
Coal is also bad for the climate again because of the CO it produces. Some of the expense is again the personal greed of our politicians. It too does not to be replaced with cleaner resources.
Until the “smart money” is ready to break away from the safety of oil and invest in cleaner resources, oil will remain the king of energy production.

One thing that will help us grow again is to get rid of the “professional” politicians. George Washington knew that if We The People allowed individuals to make politics a career would wind up with the problems we have with our Government today. It is why he advocated term limits and tried to prevent political careers.
We need to force our politicians to not only make term limits, but to also to limit the total number of terms one can serve as a politician.
Professional politicians are just one step away from being kings, princes, barons, etc. Regardless of how good a person does, allowing them to continually be a politician leads to corruption.
Next time you vote, remember that we must kick out all of the current reigning politicians, good or bad. If a politician has been in for more than two terms, then vote them out and put someone new in. Forget about which Party they belong to, vote for the best person to replace a long term incumbent so we can start getting rid of the self interest.

    Great article.

I can’t understand why leftists, (who are traditionally in favour of human rights) would ever choose Saudi Arabia above Canada. this article helps exaplin a bit.

In Saudi Arabia stoning to death of women and homosexuals happens all the time. In Canada gays can marry and women are equal under the law. No executions at all.

Go to Saudi Arabia to investigate how clean the oil fields are and they’ll never find your body. Alberta welcomes free speech, even if it’s misguided and wrong.

Well actually real Progressives tried to warn all of you LONG ago about the problems with oil addiction and our being in bed with the Saudi dictators and many other dictators for that matter. Where were you then? It seems to me that a lot of you just woke up when a black man got elected.

We’ve never liked dictators nor the greedy bastards who support them. We’ve never liked our addiction to oil and it’s pollution nor the wars that are fought over it. We’ve never liked Coal because it’s the dirtiest and renaming it clean coal won’t make it so. We’ve never like Nuclear because it is the most dangerous and when truth be told really the most expensive. And now we really don’t like mountain top removal or tar sands.

Real Progressives like Healthy Sustainable Ecological solutions like solar, wind, hydrogen, tidal, and may others that are quickly coming on board. We like efficiency and conservation and net zero energy building. All possible.

I have this to say about the number of birds supposedly killed by wind turbines ! Get a life ! To say that birds will fly into these turbines is a real streatch of the imagination when you stop to really think about birds. I sit on my deck every day and watch the birds . I live in the woods and a thick woods at that ! They fly at break neck spead through this woods and I will tell you I have never seen a bird hit anything yet! I have a windmill right next to the woods and there has been no birds fly into it in all these years. Who ever came up with the story of birds flying into these things and getting killed is either lying or off their rocker ! Birds are not that stupid ! The real thing of danger to a bird would be a large clear glass wall or a mirror ! They will try to fly through a glass window or door and will fight themselves to death by seeing their reflection in a mirror but they don’t fly into wind turbines ! Only jet engines !

You have no idea what you are talking about!!!!!

“Empowering the condign elements of Islam requires a candid assessment, which acknowledges the strength of Shariah — just as defeat of 20th century totalitarian ideologies required an acknowledgment of, and respect for, their malevolent capabilities.”

The Shariah system is “totalitarian” and incompatible with the U.S. Constitution’s guarantees of democratic lawmaking, freedom of conscience, individual liberty and freedom of expression, including the right to analyze and criticize Shariah law, the report states.

The report cites the 1991 document from the Muslim Brotherhood in North America describing a covert process of Islamic “settlement” in the United States. The plan is to carry out a “grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated,” the document stated.

The Egyptian-origin Muslim Brotherhood is the most important entity promoting Islamic supremacism, the report says.

Republican and Democratic administrations failed to understand the ideological nature of the terrorist enemy, the report says, including its ultimate goal of reinstating a totalitarian Islamic caliphate with Shariah imposed globally.

Eric, There’s Nothing wrong with alternative energy as long as it’s in place and working, prior to getting rid of all the fossil fuels and we are A LOOOONG way, away from that, my friend!

      • slickporsche

Spoken like true tree hugger Eric. You are in some kind of a dream world. Most of the alternative energy you speak of is not ever going to replace oil. It is simply too dependent on sun, and wind, or other things that are not reliable. We need energy NOW, not tomorrow. More oil has been discovered in America recently than all the oil in the middle east. Also very near Brazil. America needs to exploit those reserves immediatly if not sooner. We now have a disfunctional government that needs to be replaced,so we as a nation can recover. I guess you “tree huggers” aren’t any good at fighting, but you could at least load our guns.

      • Eric Bischoff

That’s right clean energy now! I have just installed 71 solar panels on my duplex house that on a nice sunny day run both my meters backwards and yesterday on a dark rainy day still produced 10 KWh. What have you done?

All I hear from this crowd is we need more oil for our Hummers and we don’t care who we have to kill to get it or what ecological destruction we need to get to that oil. Never mind the threat of Global Warming from burning morte fossil fuels.

In a period of 4 days, I got a new roof and 71 solar panels installed that started producing immediately. Simple, available technology. I have my eye on the new vertical, low speed, no vibration wind turbines. I am going to put one on my garage. I also work from home and most of my IT team of 20 has been working from home since 9/11. Telecommuting works.

What are you doing? Are you at least cutting down your use?

How many Nuclear reactors can we install in 20 years? What will they cost? Who will finance them? What will they produce and when? How much will it cost to store the waste and for how many years? Who will pay to decommission aging reactors every 30 or 40 years? How much will that cost? Do you ever wonder why Wall st won’t ever finance them?

How many PV solar panels can we install in 1 year? How many wind turbines can we install in 1 year? What will they cost? What will they produce from day one? How much will they have produced in 20 years?

How much co2 will not go into the atmosphere because of them? How many people will have jobs installing these things as in new jobs in a new industry?

Unfortunately we have already reached Peak Oil. Yes we’ll find more here and there. Some will be substancial. But we still have a global warming problem directly related to burning fossil fuels and adding co2 to the atmosphere. Now that’s impossible isn’t it. You just don’t believe it even though thousands of scientists around the world all agree. You’d rather listen to the ones that are paid by the oil and coal industry to tell you it isn’t so. That way you don’t have to feel guilty and answer to your children when they, ask how come you new about this and you didn’t do anything?

So with that kind of reasoning it makes perfect sense that you would only care about burning more oil and more coal and more gas. And from there you can only see Nuclear. You have no vision.

      • 45caliber

        Eric:

Okay, let’s talk about “free” energy.

First, solar panels. There is presently a solar energy plant in AZ that feeds a reservation. It is in a desert area, true, but it covers hundreds of acres. The University of Pennsylvania tried to install a collector system to feed one building; they had a major protest because they needed to cut one tree to build it and therefore didn’t. To install enough to feed the entire state would require thousands of acres of solar panels which requires clearcutting of all timber and a lot of leveling of hills. You want that? You put enough on your house to help; good for you. But do you want to depend upon that alone? And how long ago did you put them up? How much did it cost you? How soon will you have to replace them? Compared to the amount of energy you save, does it actually pay for itself? The one in AZ certainly doesn’t!

Wind towers require wind – surprise!! And there isn’t a lot of places to build them. The best places are along sea shores since the difference in temperatures between land and sea creates a lot of wind. But even Kennedy, the sainted Dem, refused to allow that because it messed up his view when he was on his yaght. Do you expect to build there there now? What about the birds they kill? What about the noise that drives the neighbors crazy? Are you going to depopulate half the country to provide energy to the other half?

And both types requires LOTS of miles of wires to collect the energy. That’s why T.Pickens Boone stopped setting up his towers. He couldn’t afford it. In fact, he has several hundred towers up for sale. Care to buy them? Only a few million each.

Tidal forces is basically a bust. There are only a few places around the world that can use this technology. And even fewer of them are in the US. You have to have a satisfactory difference in tides between high and low tides to be able to collect enough water to run a turbine. And this can only be done during the time between high and low tides. During low to high tides you are collecting the water. To run it continually would need twice as much acreage (and the less the water level changes the more acreage you need). And you would need pumps, etc. that use a lot of energy on their own. For 98% of the world shores, it would require more energy to run one that it would produce.

Geothermal is okay – but you have to have pumps to pump the water up and down. That requires a lot of energy. The difference in temperatures doesn’t produce that much energy. For a small place, like a house, yeah, it can help. But it isn’t really possible to do it for large energy outputs.

Hydrogen? I work for Dow – who worked with the Department of Energy to research these. They do work – but the difference between the power needed to run them and the power you get out of them is very close to the same. If you check the LAWS of Science (not the theories – those are only guesses) you will find that you cannot get more energy back than you put into something. You have losses such as heat. In fact the closest thing we have to a 100% efficient machine is the little electric heaters – ALL the energy there is lost as heat. The reason it is closest is because it is designed to lose heat.

Hydropower is great – but we have already used up all the sites for large hydroelectric dams in the US. There are some smaller sites left but no one really wants to build those. They take up a lot of room and don’t produce that much energy. And they are expensive now.

Nuclear is certainly great. And you pointed out some problems with it. The real way to get rid of radioactive waste from them is to regenerate it – but the government has forbidden that to be done. The best place to put it would be at the bottom of some abandoned mine but everyone is still worried. Send it to the sun. The sun won’t mind. And it is actually the cheapest way to create energy now. But the environmentalists fear it because they don’t understand it. A nuclear plant blowing up? It might melt but it won’t blow up. And you can plan ways to stop it from melting.

What is left? Coal? Oil? Natural Gas? All are hydrocarbons. The only ‘problem’ there is that the sources are finite and they produce CO2. I know Gore is concerned about CO2. After all, he owns sizable shares of stock in the companies that produce equipment to remove it. If he can just get his friends in government to require that equipment, he stands to make more money than Bill Gates. Of course, since CO2 is needed by plants and promotes plant growth, if you are really concerned, just plant a few trees. They can absorb more CO2 than you can produce.

Along these same lines, the concept of what is referred to as “renewable energy” is also a farce. Since energy can be neither created nor destroyed, there is no such thing as renewable energy. If the argument is made that this means, for example, “more corn can be grown”, ALL organic energy sources (including oil and coal), are “renewable”. The argument that would then be made is the relative time it takes for the “renewal” process to occur, which, like all collectivist/leftist arguments, has no firm basis (by definition – the relative nature means that there is no absolute, meaning no firm basis). Since there is no absolute, the leftist can define this any way he or she wishes. What’s scary is that people actually vote for such dolts and that such dolts ever get even the tiniest fraction of legislative/governing power.

      • old white guy

you would have to cover the state of texas with windmills , solar panels etc just to power ny city. green thinkers are idiots. they don’t know the real cost of anything.

      • Christin

        45caliber,

Very thorough and WELL SAID, as always.

More trees can take in the CO2s from oil use.
God has made a planet that can deal with the resources we were given.

For ALL YOU who “hate to put oil money in the hands of the Middle Easterners who fund terrorists” and ALL YOU who “hate to be dependant on foreign oil” should KNOW that America has PLENTY of her OWN oil resources.

        1. ANWR – Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska

ANWR is a 19 million acre area in Alaska. The Coastal Plain is 2,000 acres and has the purposed oil drilling site which will take up 3.13 square miles, just a small area, and it would be nature friendly like the other oil sites in Alaska.

        2. North Dakota and Montana’s Bakken Formation

        Source: http://www.usgs.gov/corecast/

A U.S. Geological survey in April 2008 (updated from 1995) finds that there is plentiful oil in the “Bakken” which includes North Dakota, western South Dakota, and extreme eastern Montana.

“The ‘Bakken’ is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay (which accounts for 17% of U.S. domestic oil production) and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. That’s enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 41 years straight.”

        Stansberry Report Online – 4 / 20 / 2006
“Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 trillion barrels. On Aug 8, 2005 Pres. Bush mandated its extraction. None has been extracted.

Evidentally, we have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:
        - 8 times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
        - 18 times as much oil as Iraq
        - 21 times as much oil as Kuwait
        - 22 times as much oil as Iran
        - 500 times as much oil as Yemen
and it’s all right here in the Western United States!

        http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/srticle.asp?ID=1911

You all know about the Gulf Oil Moritorium where obama shut down the Gulf off-shore oil drilling because of ONE (sabotaged) oil rig explosion, even though a Louisiana Judge reversed the decision… obama shut it down anyways and gave Brazil $2 Billion to drill in an even deeper spot. And Cuba/ China will drill off the northern coast of its island near Florida.

Why do WE have to STOP drilling?

America has been blessed with HUGE oil reserves, but we ARE NOT ALLOWED to drill on shore OR off shore by the Environmentalists, Progressive Government and obama and others….

We have the oil resources, don’t ever be fooled into thinking we don’t.

        That’s

Eric B. You did not mention the price of those 71 solar panels. Most people cannot afford that kind of expense even if they live in a place where the sun shines a lot. Wind turbins on top of that, not cheap. I would be interested in hearing your costs. DO NOT LIE!

      • eddie47d

Bruce D.: All energy sources are expensive including Solar.A Nuclear power plant can cost 30-40 billion. An oil rig and drilling to find oil can cost 1 billion. Those 71 solar panels could cost $175,000 but probably less. Your negative comments solve nothing. There are pros and cons with every energy source and we need all of them.

Aerobotic oil? It’s something like that. The scientist once thought that oil was from dead dino’s, but after the oil spill in the Gulf they were 100% sure that abotic or aerobotic oil is re-occuring, replenishing and made naturally by the earth. Oil is a lubricant that is made naturally by the earth.
Yeah, that was announced awhile back. Guess not many got the message.

      • bruce d.

I am not a scientist but the first time I heard it said many years ago that dead dinos created oil I thought it was the stupidist thing I ever heard. Millions of dinos would have to die just to get started. Then they would have to all die in about the same places.

      • S.C.Murf

Real progressives are for gay rights and free abortions. You sound just like a lawyer.

      • Muggs in Whittier

I asked a gentleman rancher in Oregon in the late 70′s why he owned a business in town. He said his ranch, which was quite large, could not provide for his family. He had both wind and solar, multible wells, etc. Forward to 2010. A friends family member in the exact same position! Green energy rarely pays for itself!!!

      • FireMall

Would you please repeat this bs so Us illiterate ,un-knowing folks here can catch up with what stinks about your OP?
BTW; You just made me mark thru your name on my Lock & Load list of People to stand beside in protecting America’s Freedoms , when the Inevitable Civil up-rising begins.
IMO– you are obviously asleep at the wheel of Socialism’s Freight train to “O”‘s he-l of an Agenda.
Have you given one thought about Why Oil Futures are headed to the Top of the Stock market when the Peak summer season is past?
Wanna take a guess Who is making mega bucks while “We The People” are being conditioned for $7.00 a gallon gasoline.??
Wars do not come at a Discounted rate, Figure it out .
Just for the Record— The U.S. could have stopped buying oil from the Enemies 75 years ago. We Actually do have more reserves than the average Human mind can comprehend. “O” Lover’s Excluded in the Average.

      • spike

        Really, Eric? You’re a progressive?
Well then, could you perhaps tell me WHY the Clinton adminstration, in their 8 years could start the subprime lending boom, decide homeownership was a right not a priviledge, but could NOT get us away from Saudi Arabia? And you sound a little Backward, not forward, which is the movement of Progressive, if you want to talk about the “black man”–I wonder if you know that the abolitionist platform was Lincoln’s and Lincoln was a REPUBLICAN. Perhaps you could also explain to me if you are indeed so “progressive”, how you percieve Islam and the muslim doctrines it embraces and the ideological politics it pushes, to be “progressive” in any way. Maybe we all just need a “progressive” education.

      • eddie47d

Spike;Eric said we should get away from oil dependency which includes Saudi oil. He never defended their regimes in any form and certainly not you’re twisted words.

      • John Woodbury

        Unfortunately we have “progressive” education.

      • JeffH

Real Progressives have a common thread, a kind of code of honor if you will…”if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”…I just can’t seem to get behind that line of thought…

      • eddie47d

Eric, keep up the good work and a positive vision for the future. It will take many more years but is doable.

      • John Woodbury

Well Eric commies er progressives must really like you, as you have enough hot air to power the electric grid for years. Why is it you freaking (this word replaces the real one), darn (another sub), moronic, liberal, rear-end (sub) kissing Bums (sub) always bring race into it? I do not care what color a person is, if they are a freaking commie, they are toast in my book. You my friend are, as Joe Stalin said, an useful fool.

      • Shibamom

STOP PLAYING THE DAMN RACE CARD!!! Why can’t you understand that the issues many have with the current administration is NOT RACE RELATED!! I don’t doubt that the president is a fairly intelligent person but he leans WAAAAAAYYYYYYY to much to the left. THAT IS WHAT MOST PEOPLE ARE UPSET ABOUT!!! What happened to good old American values. Why is this administration apologizing for events that happened way before you and I were born??? Why do we have to pay for things that those before us did??? Why are other cultures more accepted and rules bent for them and the American culture is trashed as trivial, materialistic, and false??? My God…what is happening to this country??? I am sick to death of being accused of racism because I exercise my constitutional right to free speech and criticize the current policies because I don’t like the policies….not the freakin’ person!! Although, some of them probably do need to be criticized.

      • Harry Mathis

The correct term is “opressives”, not progressives.

    • old white guy

ya, well you can’t cure stupid. it is a terminal disease. get your heads out you will have to fight physically not verbally to change what is happening worldwide.

    • California70

      Dear Sands,
Your statement “can’t understand why leftists, (who are traditionally in favour of human rights”.

You must know by now, that leftists is a code word for socialists, and the “far-left” is a code word for Marxism.

That is the explanation you need for your understanding. Once you are aware of this truth, the understanding just “falls-into-place”.

You may not agree with it, but one cannot fail to see the truth upon this knowledge.
