Obama Signs Multi-Billion Dollar Measure That Aims To Help Small Businesses, Create Jobs

September 30, 2010 by

Obama signs multi-billion dollar measure that aims to help small businesses, create jobsIn an effort to stimulate job growth and revive entrepreneurship, President Barack Obama signed a $42 billion bill on Sept. 27 to help small businesses in the United States.

The Small Business Jobs Act authorizes the creation of a $30 billion fund that will allow banks to increase their lending amount to small companies. The legislation, which was approved by Congress last week, also provides new tax breaks to small businesses, increases Small Business Administration (SBA) lending limits and waives SBA loans fees.

Obama called the bill "a great victory for America's entrepreneurs." Top Republican officials, however, were not as enthusiastic.

"Unfortunately, this bill does nothing to help end the uncertainty that is crippling job creation and hurting small businesses," House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said. "Instead it puts taxpayers on the hook for even more bailouts."

According to a recent survey by the Office Depot Small Business Index, most small business owners have no intention of adding jobs in the near future. Of those surveyed, 81 percent said they are not expecting to hire new staff within the next six months. Hesitant business owners cited reasons such as fear of higher taxes, increased healthcare costs and economic uncertainty.

Guess what. This new money doesn’t go to small businesses. It goes to the banks. Did he think I was so stupid I couldn’t notice this glaring point?

    • 45caliber

But the banks will be happy to loan the money to you for your business – for a nice fee of course.

      • eddie47d

That’s our capitalist system for you.

  • jopa

Bush gives hundreds of billions to rebuild Iraq did you complain then? This is America we are helping out so be a little more patriottic, and quit acting like terrorist hell bent on destroying our country.

    • 45caliber

Yes, I did complain then. I think we should have bombed it to rubble, informed any survivors that this is what they get for allowing such a bad leader to take over, and don’t do it again or we’ll come back and really make a mess of the place.

      • eddie47d

I get your point but we never should have gotten involved over there in the way we did. Ronald Reagan armed Saddam and we’ve been paying for it many times over.

  • jopa

patrick;Do your country a real favor and put a bullet in your own head. Then all your problems will be over.

A Liberal with this attitude? My, my!

      • s c

45 caliber, the specific word you’re looking for is MEAN-SPIRITED. There are many others that go right along with it, but that word stands out. It’s amusing how politics (the fine art of learning crap from shinola) brings out the worst in progressives.
Hypocrite is another fitting term. I wouldn’t be surprised if J is also a closet capitalist (he is so uncaring and spiteful). His mean side is showing, and he can’t take it back. Say this and do that. Whiz and moan. Blah.
No doubt J is also a charter member of the First Church of the Jockstrap Moonbats. Just another progressive, eh?

      • 45caliber

The main reason I commented on that is that liberals are AFRAID of guns. Yes, indeed. Even if they are laying on a table or locked up in a safe. Guns are EVIL! And here one of them wants someone shot.

That’s one reason I get amused at them wanting to lock up all the conservatives (most of whom are armed). They want us locked up but have to get other conservatives with guns to do it. So how do they get all of us locked up? A mystery …

Obama & the Democrats are going to come up with as many phony programs & lies as they can before election time. Sadly there will be many who swallow their poison. When the banks were bailed out the first time, they sure were not making any new loans, & still aren’t. Loans are NOT the answer anyway. Spending & taxing are the problems, & until the idiots in cingress figure that out, the country will remain in a recession,& with all the phony Monoply OBAMA had printed up, may just worsen to an all out Depression. Obama knows what he is doing all right, He is out to distroy the USA & the Democrats are helping him.

Keep in mind that all their solutions means we go far deeper into debt.

At one time we had “indentured servants” in the US – mostly in the NE. The ship captains would pay someone in England to empty the poor houses and then haul them to New England. They would be auctioned off “to cover their transportation costs”. They were supposed to work 7 years to pay off those costs and then they would be free.

However, much like the modern day crooks, the “masters” would add the cost of food, clothing, and shelter to their costs – many times for as much as a $100 a month (when a normal worker was paid $10 a month). When the 7 years were up, the master would take the bill to a judge and show that the servant hadn’t paid everything.

In some cases grandchildren were still trying to pay off the costs – not counting their own costs.

This ended after the Civil War was over when many of the Union ex-soldiers realized that the Emancipation Proclamation only covered those slaves in the South – not the North. It was also one of the reasons so many people pushed West after the Civil War. They wanted to get as far away from their “masters” as they could get.

And this whole debt scheme of Oblama’s is making me believe they are trying to do the whole thing over again. After all, he and his friends are borrowing and spending the money – but we have to pay it back with interest. Or else.

      • eddie47d

It was the wealthy who hired indentured servants and they used and abused them. A more accurate comparison today would be corporate farms who pay low wages and offer lousy working conditions. Then they turn around and “fire” these workers without paying them.

  • patrick

Hey what an opportunity for all us patriotic Americans! We can now apply for small business loans to start up new companies and hire all the unemployeed. I think I will start up a new undercover sniper training firm. The company will specialize in searching out liberal democrats, communists, terrorists, gays and lesbians, illegal immiagrants, socialists, marxists, community organizers, anti-Americans, anti-Christians, muslims, anti-Isrealists, etc. Just think in a few short days America will be cleaned up and millions of new jobs will become available and shortly thereafter the economy will speeding full speed ahead, which will created billions of new tax dollars, farmers will profit, companies will profit, many Gov’t jobs will be eliminated because those employed to help dole out welfare, food stamps, phony SS claims, free medical at hospitals, bus travel will be less so those jobs will be eliminated along with wastefull welfare train to the mall. This is an exciting opportunity folks!

Why bother to make it an undercover school? There is a school for assassins in Mississippi now. 60 Minutes covered it a few years ago. And the manager there informed the reporters that if they didn’t report it fairly, he would tell some of the graduates that he didn’t like them.

Small businesses need to borrow money to buy raw goods and equipment, but the great banking ref–k uped bill sure didn’t improve things. The regs on small businesses and the start ups restrictions just got increased. Not exactly job stimulas, I know in the last month of 3 people who were going to use their houses to finance the start up. It got stopped due to the new requirement [ut in by the marxist communist dumbocrats!

At this point in our history small buisness does not need to be able to borrow more money. what small buisness needs is more customers. what’s holding business back, is the uncertainty of tax rate,(caused by Obama) uncertainty of inforcement of rule of contract law, (caused by obama by forcing the payment of unions first and bond holders last in the auto bail out)and not knowing of the plan for the future of the country. RR, the first rule on this website is ‘act like a retardo, and get treated like a retardo.’ If you’re not willing to distinguish between conservative policies and ‘Republican’ policies, then shut up and go away. You’re too old to act like a useful idiot one day and a willing retard the next (aren’t you?).

I think that’s one of the big problem, the republicans policies have derived from the conservative policies for too long leaving the liberal policies to take over and we see the devastating results today.
America needs to go back to the solid conservative ways to eliminate the shamble of the laws instated by the left which caused this country to fall in a continuous sinking hole.
Not only do we have to say NO to those vermins but HELL NO !

    • 45caliber

The Republican policies have changed over time to reflect the liberal policies. The conservatives still want conservative policies but vote GOP because the other choice is even worse.

  • OtherTim

The trouble is, that he doesn’t have a clue what to do other than throw $ at any problem area. Obama is in permanent campaign mode, not leadership. Look at the increased $ that has been thrown to education and poverty over the years, and our education system continues to falter. Now there are more at the poverty level than has been for years.
These methods are all artificial, and the “recovery” is not on solid footing. Until the marketplace can develop on it’s own, w/o govt. support, there will be no true recovery.
Small business will get hammered along with EVERYONE else when the tax cuts expire and Obamacare kicks in.
We haven’t seen the worst yet.

    • Disgusted

I agree. As I mentioned earlier – we have no idea what stipulations were included in the healthcare bill. I think we have huge suprises coming to us and even the “Democrat Supporters” will be pissed off when they surface. The healthcare bill is going to dip into our pockets in a huge way, get ready to pay the government a lot more money. These suprises will come at times when you least expect it, like when you sell your home you will be paying a fee/tax to the government. They will dip into everything you do for their fair share. Get ready to be raped—-bend over people.

      • eddie47d

Oh,Please Disgusted! We’ve had to “bend over” for many years now with the rapid increases in our health care costs. At least a half a dozen major increases just from private insurances companies. So why would we be “shocked” with “huge surprises” with Obama’s health plan. We’ve already been shocked and awed by corporate thievery!

      • 45caliber

Yes, we have been ‘shocked’ as you say by the insurance fees. Particularly when they start passing along the new requirements the government says they MUST add to their policies. Such as sex-change operations, etc. that most of us REALLY REALLY need according to the government.

(By the way, people, how do you get a sex change operation from a girl to a boy? I saw an article this morning that stated something about some girl in high school planning to do this soon.)

      • eddie47d

Sex change operations or plastic surgery should be left up to the private individual and be paid out of one’s own pocket.

IF… (big if) people here will vote “R” regardless, it’s because for 20yrs+ EVERY election has been “the lesser of 2 evils” or “who will do the least amount of damge”. I can only speak for myself, but it’s been the major qualifier for whom I’ll vote for, and more times than not…. the Repubs (even RINOs) will take us to h*ll a lot slower than the left. Also, how many “establishment” Repubs have been taken out by up-start T-partiers in primaries?? An awful lot of conservative Constitutionalists in the field this year. The truth is a lot of people are going to have someone to actually vote FOR and not be reduced to damage-control. You should be rightfully VERY worried.

Have fun at your commie rally on Saturday and here’s wishing everyone remains safe and the event isn’t marred by bad behavior.

try looking back to bill clinton who was more interested in chasing skirts than protecting our country and creating jobs. Bush came in and at least tried to protect this country and create jobs. He was given some bad info as all of us are at times but over all he tried to right some of the previous wrong from the previous Pres.

    • Craig

Let see here. 2005-2009 Bush created 1.1 million jobs. So far Obama has a negative number of 3.1 million jobs lost. Yes I will take republican policies over the socialism loving demtards.

      John K…
I don’t know how you determined that right wing Americans gage what goes on in government by ‘does it put money in my pocket’. That is ludicrous to say the least. I just want a government that doesn’t lie to the people, has ethics, morals, standards, and not a bunch of thieves. Pelosi promised a lot things that she would do; so far this entire administration has promised a lot that they are not doing, which cannot be blamed on the GOP. They need to clean up the party. The GOP has issues as well, but they are more prevalent in the Democratic party.

      • s c

Robin, Obummer and his syndicate-like thugs think they can do anything they want. They will preach about the “law,” but they’re not willing to enforce laws we already have (especially via the Constitution). People like J live in a fantasy world. They are self-made losers.
If Obummer’s jock strap supporters have to be baseball-batted into reality, sobeit. It’s them or us, and I have no plans to stand by and watch America go down the toilet just so those wannabe Hannibal Lecters and Nazis can be ‘happy.’
What can be said about an administration that acts like Stalin’s Russia one day and Hitler’s Germany the next?

      • eddie47d

Okay Robin, What did this administration promise that they are not working on? No matter what Obama does;whether it is good bad or indifferent you will find fault with and work hard to destroy. 99% of the articles on the Livingston site have been negative and pointedly against most issues. Does this constant barrage of negative speech effect you at all. Have you become immune to it and accept it as normal. Most on this site relish the negativity and demand more. That has been proven when on a couple of occasions Bob said something positive about Democrats and this site got mad at him. Told him in so many words to go back to the way he has always been. I think even Mr Livingston doesn’t even dare cross the line in being fair and balanced for he would loose his audience. Unless the business community produces jobs then the unemployment will stay high. This business community has had ample time to hire or produce jobs and some are trying. All this negativity, blind hatred for government help, and over the top conspiracies is also putting fear in the business community. I wouldn’t produce any jobs either if I thought America was imploding into the dustbin of history. Do you take any responsibility for that feeling of doom and gloom that is spread by every prophet of fear on the right.Too many of you have paralyzed America so it can’t make thoughtful decisions on job growth. You’ve become like the Unions you detest. You make unreasonable demands and want more and more for your side then wonder why you’re losing jobs instead of keeping those jobs. Republicans and Libertarians both have shouted out to give tax breaks to businesses. “they can’t possibly survive with the tax burden they have”. Yet tax breaks are now offered and those same Republicans go into full mode denial that it will work. More excuses on top of the old excuses. Are you getting the picture. This bill doesn’t say this money has to be used but it’s there if needed. That makes John Boehner look darn pathetic.

So far I’ve not seen any “solution” this administration has come up with that isn’t worse than the problem they are supposed to be fixing. Do you know of any? I certainly don’t! And since they are making things worse, I’d just as soon they didn’t try at all!

      • eddie47d

The country didn’t tailspin into a depression and has stabilized and that was a top priority. Will it hold? That’s up for grabs.Unless unemployment goes down 4-5% the economy will stay stagnant. We all know where the jobs went and why the economy tanked. Now, will the American people slow down their appetite for Chinese goods? Will corporations become more reasonable and stop paying themselves trophy salaries and unearned bonuses? Will some unions accept the good things they have and stop demanding more just because it’s contract time? It will take bold moves by all to get the USA back on track. We have to change our way of thinking that salaries HAVE TO go up. That houses will Only increase in value and that is our nest egg.We have to be better prepared on many fronts. We need to stop our police actions around the world for they do not make us safer. That also drains our economy. Although China’s economy is not as strong as we are told they are also not at war. They spend their money on better things like infrastructure. We need to balance our growth out and avoid all these booms and busts.

He got combat troops out of Iraq (shouldn’t have been there in the first place). He did this ahead of schedule which you don’t hear from government very often. His administration has fixed the absentee ballot issue for soldiers which has been broken for a long time. He could easily have let this little known issue go since it is not likely to benefit his party but it was the right thing to do. His administration has also allowed children with pre-existing conditions to stay on their parents insurance plans. Many many more could be stated but there’s a start.

      • s c

D, only you or one of your pals could be naive enough to think Herr Obummer is doing America or our military any favors. You have all of the awareness of a little kid. Your half-assed magician-prez will shift the military personnel he ‘took out of Iraq’ and send them wherever it’s convenient (can you say Afghanistan?).

I heard a lengthy story on the (radio) news yesterday about how the absentee balloting is MUCH more efficient giving those citizens overseas, largely the military, much more confidence that their ballots will be counted with the regular election day ballots. Good news.

      • 45caliber

It would be nice. However, absentee ballots are not counted AT ALL unless there is a very close race – less than a thousand votes different between the two candidates. As one election official said, “why count five hundred absentee ballots when one candidate wins by ten thousand votes? It takes time and won’t change the election at all.”

SHAME ON YOU FOR BELIEVING ALL THE GARBAGE COMING OUT OF obama’s mouth does the John K. stand for John Kerry by any chance.

Shame on you all!”

The only advantage is to the government. The only think you got right is that, “Obama can do nothing right”. You loan money to small business, then over-regulate and tax that business, you have a failing business. Money coming in is going out faster than what was borrowed. You forget that all loans must be repaid in order for all involved to survive. A loan is not income, it’s incurred debt. Incurred debt is a disadvantage. The businesses don’t need more loans and more taxes, it needs more customers with cash in order to pay the bills and that is only gained through more disposable income. The more you tax the less disposable income. If I raise taxes on you to the tune of $1000 more this year, you have $1000 less in disposable income, so the $1000 does not go to businesses, it goes to the Government who produces nothing but debt. The businesses suffer and the consumer suffers. Obama never ran a business and has no idea what it takes to support one. Learn real economics, not liberal tax and spend economics.

___Sounds like the Government doesn’t it???

    • AMJ

You are an idiot. If I work to earn money, the government has no right to take my hard earned money away from me just to give it to someone else who is on the dole. I want my money in my pocket. I don’t want your money, I don’t want the “government’s money.” You have been led to believe that the government is helping you, well I guess they are, they’re helping you into a pit of their digging and they will bury you in it when the need arises. They don’t care about you. The government has never been for the people, well at least not for 100 years.

Stimulus money to help small business is what Republicans have been belly aching about for months (and longer) and when President Obama implements that strategy the Republicans are against him anyway. The Party of No.

Doc… Small business owners should watch for the small print with these loans. The government could end up owning a lot of them, especially if the government turns around and raises taxes on businesses and if business owners have to pay for Obamacare. There are a lot of things to consider. It sounds great on the surface, but it really should have been done over a year ago.

      • Angel Wannabe

Your right Robin, we’ve got enough deb! Washington needs to ACTUALLY READ THE CONSTITUTION, and go the hell back and do what we voted them in to do, nothing more!_ They act as if they represent us, and then treat us with contempt, by passing friggin bills and amendments, that no one benefits from!__They’re nothing more than a bunch of lousy actors!__Again_ they’re wackjobs!

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Angel Wannabe,
        you mean they can READ?!?!?!?!

      • Bluebonnet

You really have a great point there, Robin. Always read the fine print! Congress can’t even read a bill they sign, much less comprehend what is in it. They have said so openly. Besides which, the health care bill is still being written as we speak. Grounds for impeachment and recall of elected officials. But, the voices are not loud enough….and, even if they were, nincompoops like those on MSNBC and other controlled news outlets would still spew their left brain mantra of hate to get their kicks. I watch them with the mute button on just to read their minds. LOL. A facial expression is worth a thousand words.

    • Craig

So how are loans gonna help small business out when they have no customers? You need customers buying more of your product so you can expand and hire more employees. Nobody is buying what is not absolutely necessary. The chocolate Marxist is only pretending to help out small business.

      • Disgusted

You are exactly right. People aren’t spending money on anything that is not an “essential” right now.
Obummer is such a horses a$$ – his entire term as president has been one blunder after another. He should have said absolutely not to the bailouts. He should have held off on obummer care until we as a country are more financially stable, there are things hidden in that healthcare bill that none of us even know about yet, we will be paying more in every aspect of our lives to pay for it. Just wait.

    • Bluebonnet

Somebody has to say NO to this madness and obvious incompetency. Most all bills passed by Congress all have unrelated trash and more trash added to them, like in a garbage truck. Democrats are in complete comtrol now so have pushed through bills they do not read, a pattern of ignorance on their part.
BTW, who is paying for Obama’s campaigning for himself and the Democrats? Who reimburses the taxpayers for all of this one-sided campaigning? Isn’t this a violation of campaign laws, such as they are? Everyone in Washington, D.C. goes home now for campaigning to become re-elected. Re-elected to do what? More of the same? If we do not bring our manufacturing base back to this country, we will continue down the road of decline. Taxes, unreasonable restrictive laws, and the unions are out of control. Our manufacturing bases mostly left this country inthe 90′s under Clinton. The housing industry is the backbone of this country. If we can’t build structures, we can’t manufacture the material that goes into them or support related businesses and industries. All jobs are tied to the housing industry in one way or another. With so many qualified and knowledgeable people in this country, how do we always get stuck with the same old schmucks?

In an effort to stimulate job growth and revive entrepreneurship, President Barack Obama signed a $42 billion bill on Sept. 27 to help small businesses in the United States.

In an effort to control job growth and direct entrepreneurship, President Barack Obama invented $42 billion bill on Sept. 27 to help small businesses in the United States become indebted to the Government.

  • Angel Wannabe

Keep the Bush tax cuts in place for ALL! You idiots in Washington are acting like ya STILL don’t get it, but we know ya do!__We know that you know full well, what your doing. Reality, More money left in peoples pockets = more spending!__More money left in the Job Creaters pockets = more jobs!__At’s pretty simple I’d say.
You put a jobs bill in place which means, the job creaters can borrow more money & get further in debt._-Instead of using a straight highway, ya take the backroads. Just a bunch of Haaavid elitist controlling idiots!

    • DaveH

Excellent, Angel. I hadn’t thought about that, but you’re right. First they tax the money away from those that are doing the right things and then hand it out to those that aren’t. Redistribution of wealth. They are simply buying votes with public money. This administration is just plain evil, and so are those that defend their larceny.

      • Angel Wannabe

DaveH, Someone up farther on the thread, also had a great point, although Bambi put a jobs bill in place, they doubted if the job creaters would ever get to it, due to all the red tape__-So in essence all the effort in this bill, is nothing more than a TOKEN effort, a smoke screen!

    • 45caliber

      Angel:

All the “Haaavad elities” reminds me of a group of Harvard students that showed up on Padre Island about twenty years ago during a Spring Break. 6 of them. They started selling cocaine out the back of their pickup parked on the beach. When the police arrested them, they announced that they were Harvard law students and therefore exempt from arrest by any hick police.

As far as I know they are still in jail. Should be, anyway.

Hey Barak, I got a better idea, Get in front of the telepromter today and tell the American people, Hey, remember that Obamacare thing? Forget about it, we’re not gonna do that. And the Bush tax cuts, we’re gonna keep them. And Cap & Trade, I was just kiddin about that! Heh, Heh, Heh. And starting tommorow we will starting utilizing our own domestic resources of oil, natural gas and so on.

Just these few thing would create an overnight resurgency in the economy. However, this will never happen because Obama never did and never will intend to fix anything in this country full of people and their beleifs that he despises.

    • Fay

I couldn’t have said it better.

    • DavidL

Ten years ago, Congress passed broad income tax cuts. But in a cynical accounting trick designed to mask their long-term impact, they scheduled these cuts to expire next January. Now we are approaching that cliff, and millions of Americans are facing thousands of dollars in higher taxes on January 1.

That’s why PRESIDENT OBAMA IS FIGHTING TO EXTEND THE TAX BREAKS FOR MIDDLE CLASS AMERICA.

Under the President’s plan, the tax cuts would be permanently extended on incomes up to $250,000, which includes 98 percent of American taxpayers. This is fair, just and crucial for our economy.

Middle class Americans saw their incomes shrink during the last decade, and have borne the brunt of the recession. They need the relief, and America needs a strong, thriving middle class. Because middle class families are most likely to spend this money quickly, these tax cuts give our economy a much needed shot in the arm.

Seems like a no-brainer, right? Not to the Republican leaders in Congress.

They’re holding these tax cuts for the middle class hostage, demanding that we also lift the cap and extend the breaks to millionaires and billionaires.
The Congressional Republican tax cut plan would add an additional $700 billion to the deficit over the next ten years and give America’s wealthiest people an average tax break of $100,000. To top it all off — the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has found that giving a huge tax break to the wealthiest Americans is one of the least effective ways to stimulate our economy.

Adding hundreds of billions of dollars to the deficit while doing very little to grow our economy, put people back to work or strengthen America’s middle class is exactly the kind of economic policy that got us into this mess in the first place.

We simply cannot afford to go back to their failed policies. It’s time for Congressional Republicans to stop playing politics with tax cuts for the middle class.

      • Michael J.

        DavidL,
The ten year sunset clause on the Bush tax cuts was to accomodate the Democrats wishes. So don’t blame accountants.

And this proposed small business loan package is nothing but the newest Obamaruse that will never find it’s way to small business because of the miles of red tape, but will instead become another slush fund for only Allah knows where.

      • TIME

And thats only part of the reasons why I will not pay taxs to this corrupt government again. They have seen my last dollar.
Nor am I going to pay in to Social Security ever again.

Oh I am just one of many who are not going to pay anylonger.

Enough is enough, I can’t see paying for my own destruction, how about YOU?

      • eddie47d

Time,Out;Are you serious or just grandstanding? Many have tried and many have failed and some said the same thing under the corrupt Bush government. You’re sounding like those in the 60′s who said they wouldn’t pay taxes because of the Vietnam War. Some on this site say all taxes are illegal. Some don’t want to pay taxes for education. Some don’t want any taxes going to the defense industry. Some didn’t want taxes for the space industry (spend money here on earth not on the moon).Everyone has their favorite anti-tax proposal. You mentioned months ago what you’re worth was so maybe you have enough wealth where you don’t have to pay into social security. Some don’t have that luxury.

      • TIME

Eddie, I am not grandstanding, what I say is what I mean.

The Federal Government has no busines taxing your “work product,” read the law as its written, its very clear so much so that anyone can understand it.
        It clearly states the only income that can be taxed is from;
{Capital Gains, or Dividend income.” In plian words stocks and bonds I don’t invest in either.

The facts are I have never supported any war nor have I found any of the wars we have been involved with other than the Revolution that started this country of benifit to Us in anyway shape or form.
Every war since has been nothing but “population control” as well to see how well “new tec toys” worked.
Therefor I will no longer support our governments out of control behavior.

      • eddie47d

        Time; Thank You

      • Vigilant

The only “no-brainers” I detect are the socialist rantings of DavidL, because you would need no brain to agree with him.

He obviously (1) didn’t read the following: “According to a recent survey by the Office Depot Small Business Index, most small business owners have no intention of adding jobs in the near future.”

And (2) doesn’t know or refuses to admit that the bulk of people who make over $250K are small business owners. They recognize that Obama throwing them a bone to help avert the coming Mid Term disaster is just a token gesture. On Jan 1, if the socialists in gov’t have their way, small business will again be hit with a job-killing tax hike. And small business, my friend, is what generates the lion’s share of jobs in this country.

Pravda is looking for journalists. Why don’t you apply?

      • DaveH

Obviously, David, you know little about economics. Those rich people are the ones who invest their money in capital goods. While they are using their money to create business and produce our goods, most of the lower income people are consuming those goods as fast as they can spend their money.
So, go ahead, David, kill the golden goose, but I hope those around you remember that you aided and abetted the takers when we become a tumultous third world country.

      • newspooner

What kind of a moron are you?

First of all, I earn much less than $250,000 per year.
I earned less in 2009 than in 2008. Yet my 2009 taxes were a bit HIGHER. And they will be higher again in 2010. So imagine what will happen in 2011!!! With dividend and capital gains rates going up, I will be paying higher taxes. And then comes the big one — my health insurance (which also went up in cost this year) will be added to my gross income, and I will be paying another $2000 more in taxes in 2011. Juan Peron Obama said that nobody earning less than $250,000 per year would have a tax increase. He is a damn liar. An you are a damn fool.

      • newspooner

      • http://?? Joe H.

        We knew that!!!

      • Margaret

Obama could take a lesson from John Kennedy who also saw the importance of tax cuts to the wealthy. He had the good sense to know what would truly stimulate the economy. When those with $$ can spend it to create jobs the nation becomes more secure. But then, would The Big O really do that? I sure hope The Big O comes to mean ostracized and the sooner the better.

  • DaveH
    • Michael J.

      DaveH,
The scene in Obama’s White House may resemble rat’s fleeing a sinking ship in the coming weeks. Vermon infestors like Rahm Emanuel and other top aides seek to exit while their reputation is still somewhat intact. Rahmbo figures he’s a shoe -in for mayor, but may discover that even Chicagoans have seen the light and it aint coming from Emanuels halo. He still has a shot however, with the help of Acorn and the unions specialized creative political tactics. He’ll also need a new mantra, “Hope and Change” has been patented by others.

  • DaveH

Sure, take money from Obama. He wouldn’t use that as leverage to take over your business, would he? NAH! Ask GM.

And don’t listen to FoxNews, Obama says they have a point of view (unlike our Fuhrer):

In other words, if this ‘stimulus’ won’t solve anything, then Uncle Scam is trying to BUY success. Some people (mainly government types) just can’t get it through their empty heads that throwing money at a problem is rarely an answer – let alone THE answer.
Mr. Obama just doesn’t get it. The move almost has the stench of someone trying to buy votes. I suspect that the prez is very close to knowing without any doubt at all just what most Americans think of him.

    • http://?? Joe H.

JoeH, Washington being what it is, and Obummer being what and who he is, I’d say there’s another slush fund being set up, so when it’s convenient, our wannabe slave masters can step in and try to pull off another immoral, anti-American ‘hope and change’ debacle.
It’s getting harder and harder to tell the difference between organized crime and this twisted collection of America-haters.

        Joe:

Hey, Oblama is the President! Right? He won! He will tell you so. So he needs to get rich on it someway. Millions of dollars are so passe. Billions are the things now.
