As Seen on TV

As Seen on TV

Fox News recently reported White House Science Advisor John Holden was urging people to cease using the phrase “global warming” and instead use “global climate disruption.”

Brilliant. Rather than acknowledge that the completely discredited global warming industry was headed out to intellectual sea with the rest of the political sewage, President Barack Obama was resorting to the timeworn trick of repackaging an old product. I could simply have observed how well that plan worked for everything from Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign to General Motors, but then I mused: Why not help?

Perhaps what liberalism needs isn’t a one-way ticket to Mao’s mausoleum. Perhaps a little polish might restore the luster to the fading ideology of hypocritical tyranny. After all, it worked for Stalin, right? Errr — it might be useful in getting those unsightly rings off the coffee table. Plus, Billy Mays has passed on, so a Democrat Party infomercial is right out.

So I have undertaken the Herculean task of coming up with all new slogans for some of the tarnished bastions of left-wing politics. I’ve tried to put a happy face on the fear-mongering which has befallen much of the Left’s front line, while at the same time restoring the honesty which all too often is as foreign to liberals as a good punch line is to a Whoopi Goldberg standup routine.

To wit:

Global Warming. So-called anthropogenic global warming is in all likelihood the most successful junk science in human history. Much like phrenology or heliocentric astronomy, global warming is a theory which merely fits the observable facts.

Recent discoveries that major global warming “scientists” were falsifying their “data” nailed the lid down. High-profile backing of breathtakingly stupid Hollywood celebrities like Laurie David and uber-hypocrite Al Gore has finished off one of the farthest-reaching scientific scams since cold fusion was “discovered” 20 years ago:

  • ManBearPig is REAL! We’re super-duper SERIAL!
  • The power of imagination.
  • Is it hot in here, or is it… OH MY GOD!
  • Science? We don’t need no stinking science!
  • You say “summer.” We say “RUN!”
  • We can’t believe we get paid to do this, either.
  • Can everyone on Dailykos be wrong?
  • It’s Bush’s fault.

MSNBC. The destination cable outlet for Democrat National Committee talking points, MSNBC has been circling the bowl since Keith Olbermann led the charge to turn their primetime lineup into a bizarro-world version of Fox News. Desperately jealous “personalities” vent frustration and rage at their conservative betters, occasionally lapsing into fits of almost comical hysteria. It has apparently never occurred to GE management that the talentless nails-on-a-blackboard shrieking of Obama-cheerleader Matthews, the buffoonish Olbermann, Olbermann’s “mini-me” Maddow and mouth-breathing thug Ed Schultz might be the reason the channel’s entire primetime lineup can’t match the ratings of a single hour of Fox programming:

  • We love it here! (Please help us. We’re trapped in Keith’s basement.)
  • Sorry your remote broke.
  • If it’s even remotely related to reality — you’re probably watching VH1 again.
  • When Ed says “voter fraud is cool” he means that in a good way.
  • Like Fox News without all those high-calorie facts.
  • We promise, Olbermann’s only an hour.
  • Yes, Maddow looks like that on purpose.
  • Liberal talking points — we don’t write ‘em, we just read ‘em.
  • FEEL THE TINGLE!
  • It’s Bush’s fault.

The New York Times. Once the nation’s — if not the world’s — de-facto newspaper of record, The Times has descended into the depths of leftist illegitimacy. The “Gray Lady” is now a pale shadow of her former self, regurgitating Democrat talking points as actual news, occasionally without even rewording the releases. The plagiarism and fake reportage scandals of the last decade finally ended any pretense of credibility:

  • Remember us?
  • We were cool before email.
  • We were cool before mail mail.
  • You have to go somewhere during Department of State attacks on Drudge.
  • Print is so relevant!
  • So much more than Jayson Blair.
  • Check out our Pulitzers!
  • All the talking points fit to print.
  • Like the USA Today, without those distracting colors.
  • It’s Bush’s fault.

CNN. The world’s first global cable news network started slowly, but hit its stride during the First Gulf War. Sadly, liberal influence, led by former owner Ted Turner, forced CNN into an inevitable decline. While CNN hasn’t faced the same abysmal ratings as the tinfoil-hat-brigadiers at MSNBC, even the departure of Turner has failed to resurrect the once-proud network. The continued presence of weak personalities like erstwhile game show host Anderson Cooper and howling lunatic Jack Cafferty keeps CNN from shedding the “Clinton News Network” moniker it earned in the ’90s:

  • We used to be awesome.
  • Darth Vader does our voice-overs.
  • Like us, or we’ll send Carville to your house.
  • We’re so tired. So very, very tired.
  • Ted Turner has left the building.
  • Our ratings are still better than MSNBC’s.
  • It’s Bush’s fault.

Nancy Pelosi. Our current Speaker of the House rose to prominence after Dick Gephardt finally decided it was someone else’s turn to quarterback Washington D.C.’s intellectual junior varsity. This furious harridan lives in Catherine The Great-style wealth and comfort, but believes that the rest of us should live in Catherine The Great’s servants-style squalor. Much like the aforementioned Empress of All the Russias, Pelosi relates to normal people the way normal people relate to leper colonies. Pelosi also serves as a caution to those who might consider going the Leona Helmsley plastic surgery route. The mere idea of Pelosi’s proximity to the Oval Office is enough to make brave men quail. It will indeed be a sight watching her trying to get re-accustomed to the title of House Minority Leader:

  • Blinking is overrated.
  • Draining the swamp, one thimble at a time.
  • The miracle of Botox®.
  • I love poor people! They keep my houses clean!
  • It’s Bush’s fault.

Harry Reid. Pelosi’s Senatorial counterpart, Reid is the perfect foil for a shrill harpy like Pelosi. Despite reportedly having once been a boxer, Reid is small, weak-chinned and probably adept at standing in the ladies’ department holding his wife’s purse:

  • Compared to Obama, I’m John McCain.
  • Compared to Pelosi, I’m Barry Goldwater.

John Kerry. America woke up just in time:

  • Yooooou raaaang?

Al Gore. After losing the 2000 Presidential contest despite some exceptionally creative Democrat-engineered voter fraud, the wooden-faced and stiff-necked Gore has spent the last decade in an almost tragicomic attempt to re-establish himself as someone of note. After winning an Oscar for the world’s most inconvenient slide show, Gore continued to trot across the globe, lecturing the masses on the perils of global warming — oops — global climate disruption — while simultaneously leaving carbon footprints the size of Yankee Stadium:

  • PAY ATTENTION TO ME!
  • Do the bolts in my neck show?
  • Have Oscar, will travel (by private jet)!
  • RRRRRAAARRRRRRR! FIRE! BAAAAAAD!

John Edwards. An almost archetypical personal injury lawyer, Edwards built an eight-figure fortune exploiting the sick, injured and grieving, including one case in which he claimed to be channeling the spirit of a dead fetus (despite being pro-abortion). After Dick Cheney cleaned his clock in a 2004 Vice Presidential debate, Edwards staged a political comeback which derailed spectacularly when the National Enquirer busted him for an affair with a paid campaign contractor who bore him a child:

  • (singing)… The kid is not my son! (It IS my daughter, however.)
  • I am dedicated to ending the disparity between rich and… AMBULANCE!
  • I feel pretty! Oh so pretty!
  • Are they still hiring for a new Breck Girl?

The Ground Zero Mosque. The political hot-button issue of the summer of 2010, the Ground Zero Mosque was backed by shady finances and fronted by a Sharia-spouting Imam with an unfortunate track record of supporting the 9/11 attackers. Liberals leapt to the defense of the GZM in the name of the same religious freedom they would deny 9-year-olds who want to bow their heads in silent prayer before school:

  • Jihad, American Style!
  • Join us Fridays for Osama’s Greatest Hits, followed by bingo!
  • When we say “Allahu!” you say “Akbar!”

Barack Obama. So many failures, so little bandwidth. Elected on a wave of manufactured acclaim and old-fashioned race baiting, the former “community activist” has proven to be farther out of his depth than a kid wearing water wings swimming above the Mariana Trench. Backed by a rogue’s gallery of left-wing hate groups like the Service Employees International Union and the New Black Panther Party, Obama is plumbing depths of ineptitude unseen since the Carter Administration. Even Democrat Party candidates are showing signs of “losing the President’s number.” Despite desperate boosting by mainstream media sycophants and far-left-liberals, support for Obama is beginning to falter like a two-pack-a-day smoker in the 10th mile of a marathon:

  • Like Carter, except I don’t hate Jews that much.
  • Quiet, or Michelle will hear you.
  • What can brown do for you?
  • I can’t believe nobody noticed I lifted my campaign strategy from The Distinguished Gentleman.
  • It’s this or President Joe Biden.
  • I’m not asking you — I’m TELLING you.
  • Kenya… Hawaii… what’s the difference?
  • It’s Bush’s fault.
  • Did I mention it’s Bush’s fault?

This is by no means a comprehensive list. Obviously, there are many more leading lights of liberalism in need of an image makeover. Sadly, space and bandwidth limitations constrict my ability to offer assistance to every one of the travelers on the port side of American politics. More to the point — Mr. Livingston would probably prefer I not compose an Encyclopedia Britannica-esque compendium.

I leave it to you, my friends, my countrymen, my fellow Livingstonians to carry on.

  • THINK ABOUT

So, Crystal did you get your science degree from FOX news the noted tabloid. Same old ranting and raving, no solutions just as usual. Don’t think anyone else gets anything done anymore, just where was intelligent ideas in this article.

    • JeffH

THINK ABOUT, you know full well that FOX controls the Republican politics in this country. Hell, Beck is really the Cat in the Hat, the advisor or FOX’s version of Axlerod if you will. Hannity is the FOX spokesperson like Robert Gibbs. O’reilly is the smart one of the bunch like the Commuity Organizer and Van Sustern is nothing more than a cheap version of Holder. Rush is nothing more than Pelosi and Reid in one huge body. Unlike the other alphabets, FOX uses mind control, manipulates, lies and distorts what they report just to indoctrinate all of there viewers which outnumber all the other sources combined. I’d say theyre pretty good at it wouldn’t you?
At least you and a couple other liberal hacks know where you can get the real news, from Olbermann, Maddow and Mathews.
      RIGHT! Cows can fly too!

  • Mark L.

It would be nice if you would research and find out what the word LIBERAL really means with regard to American political system. You and the people on the left are completely misusing the word. Please research to what these “scholars” refer to as classical liberalism.
After you do, hopefully just as I, you will stop using LIBERAL to describe the big government statists and just call them progressives or socialists.

Lets face it, the root of the word liberal, is liberty and people who subscribe to the philosophy of government control over most of the aspects of individual rights are not for liberty. If anything these people are antiberals.

    • Denniso

I’m a Liberal and believe in as much freedom as possible and as little gov’t control and regulation as practical. I believe that we,everyone on earth, are all in this together and if we don’t look out for one another and the health of the very earth that sustains us,
we all suffer. I believe that every human should have the right to live a humane and rewarding life and that none should be considered expendable…I don’t think that the billions of poor and less fortunate born into misery should be canon fodder or slave labor for the wealthy and comfortable. I’m a Liberal and proud of it.

      • a progressive nightmare

Denniso, Well put! Good for you! Just leave me out of your ideolgy. You want freedom of choice, so do I.

I would suggest you give all your money to whomever you please. Leave my beliefs in GOD, my family, my life, my wife, my children to me. Deal? Fact is, We are doing just fine(Always have…it is the power of the family thing and the GOD THING) and we help every person we can without any direction from you or your all-omnipotent ideolgy.

Thank you for being honest for a change. I respect that.

      • Denniso

You want freedom of choice? Then you agree that a woman should have control over her own body,as it should be her free choice?

Do you think that supposed moralists should be able to tell you that you can’t grow a weed, dry it, roll it up and smoke it in the privacy
of your home? And that if you do, you go to jail if caught?

Should the gov’t be able to tell you that you can’t fly to Cuba for a vacation? Freedom?

      • a progressive nightmare

Denniso said “You want freedom of choice? Then you agree that a woman should have control over her own body,as it should be her free choice?

Sure! Do whatever your little heart desires, just don’t ask me to PAY FOR IT or the taxpayers to pay for it! Your payment will come later. In other words, you can get high and have ten sex partners and 10 illegitimate babies and it is of no consequence to me until the government tells me that I HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR BAD BEHAVIOR.

“Do you think that supposed moralists should be able to tell you that you can’t grow a weed, dry it, roll it up and smoke it in the privacy
of your home? And that if you do, you go to jail if caught?”

Again, have at it! Your choice! If fact, roll you up a monster joint and have an affair with a billy goat or a gang of billy goats, if that is what floats your boat. Just don’t expect me or all the other taxpayers to pay for your resulting bad health and social deseases. If you get caught driving while intoxicated or selling DOPE to our KIDS, then you should be put in jail. In other words, when your bad “Dope” behavior begins to negatively affect others, then yes, we have an issue.

Should the gov’t be able to tell you that you can’t fly to Cuba for a vacation? Freedom?”

Sure thing, fly over their now and stay, I invite you too.

Bottom line Denniso, I could care less if you go outside and pound sand up your axx. It’s your business until you make it MY business, and if MY money is involved, then that makes it MY business!!!

You want to set your own lifestyle standards regardless of the resulting bad health consequences, then do it, just don’t expect others to pay for YOUR BAD DECISIONS in life. If you don’t want to work and smoke dope all day, then STARVE, have at it.

We making any “progress” here yet?

Bottom line, this is why we object to this progressive-marxist nanny state mentality. We do not want to pay for others bad behavior or bad decisions in life nor do we want to be involved with your BAD behavior.

      • eddie47d

WOW! I can agree with both Denniso and P. Nightmare. Isn’t life good!

      • JeffH

progressive nightmare, that was very precise and simple explanation. Thanks and keep up the good fight fellow patriot.

      • Denniso

        Nightmare…we’re aren’t talking about MY behavior,since I don’t drink,smoke, or use any drugs,even prescription drugs.

You think because I am talking about the principle of freedom in aspects that may be considered negative to some, that I’m promoting
that behavior or do it myself…wrong. Real freedom is not just allowing those things that you or I or the majority approve of, that’s easy, granting people the right to do what we think is right. The test of freedom is allowing that which we despise.

Millions of Americans engage in bad behavior, that is legal, every day and it costs you and everyone else tax money and higher insurance premiums. Careless drivers, smokers, drinkers, people eating lousy foods, divorce that impoverishes kids, extreme risk takers….All legal activities that cost us all money one way or another.

So,to argue that restricting freedoms is OK if it saves you money is absurd, since so much legal behavior also costs taxpayers money. You sound like some extreme liberals who want to outlaw everthing that is
bad for people and therefore society in general as well as an expense to society.

      • a progressive nightmare

Denniso…. What? Your progressive babling lost me?

Let me simplify this for you. I don’t care what YOU do as long as I AM NOT FORCED TO PAY FOR IT or if it does not have a negative impact on me or my family.

It’s simple, self-reliance, financial independence and FREEDOM from the negative life-styles of others.

Cut out the nanny-state funding of BAD BEHAVIOR and you will get GOOD BEHAVIOR as a result of that action. Have your every raised any children??? Reward them for BAD behavior and it only cultivates MORE bad behavior. Punish them for BAD behavior and you will get improved behavior patterns.

What I would really like to see, is for us to return to our ROOTS of Freedom where people take responsibility for their OWN actions AND mind their OWN BUSINESS!

      • Doug

Really now and your idols like Obama and Peolosi give a rats ass about anyone but themselves????? You really are out there you know. If i hit any animal driving my car I would do eveything I could to save it but if I hit Obama or Pelosi with my car I would go back and forth until I am sure they are dead just like there brains and their followers zombies that need their heads chopped off!

      • Denniso

        CHILL…….

      • eddie47d

Someone let the sewer rat out of his wire cage. Shame on you Doug

  • Conservative at Birth

This humorous article would make me laugh, except for the fact that it is not a laughing matter. It is and has been very serious for over 100 years. The attempt to enslave the human race completely is nearly complete. The impending violence will take many lives. Be prepared is the only advice I can give. Unfortunately most of the voting population is oblivious to what is happening, and as proven in the election of 2008 can easily be swayed by slogans and hype ( Hope and Change.) I always ask those I know voted for Obama: How is that Hope and Change going for you now?

    • ontopic

‘Conservative at Birth’ has a problem with slogans – isn’t that somewhat ironic?

Is your name somehow trying to lay claim to the pro-closed thinker movement. Your moniker suggests you had no choice in the matter and furthermore are stuck with it.

Have you never changed your stance on any issue ever? You were right on WMDs right from the get-go? Should Russia have ever been an ally? And (my meme today) did none of your ancestors, assuming your trait is hereditary, think the earth revolved around the sun?

      • 45caliber

I think you have the wrong idea of what conservative means too. Conservatives consider something and look for both good and bad in it. They use “learned experience” – either their own or someone else’s – to determine whether the newly suggested idea will work or not. Unfortunately, to the progressive/liberals, their ideas have all been tried somewhere at least once – and most of them have failed.

Einstien said that the insane believe that you expect to get different results when you do the same thing over again. And the progressives do believe that.

Oblamacare has been tried (and is still used) in most of Europe. Socialism/Communism has been tried throughout the world. And all of it has failed. So why do you all believe it will work now in our country?

      • eddie47d

Come on Caliber, you sometimes are full of yourself. Thomas Edison worked on the light bulb over and over again and it took years and years to find an idea that worked. If you don’t succeed the first time try try again, and that’s true with every theory or invention. Climate change is a work in progress and all the answers are not there, but that does not mean it isn’t happening.

      • Brad

Then Eddie if it’s not happening prove that it is happening, prove that global warming is happening?

      • eddie47d

The industrial age has been proven with core samples drilled in the Antarctic and how much of their pollution is flowing around the world. It’s like carbon dating. Most of the Glacier National Park glacier have melted during this same period.(150,down to 21).One third of Artic ice has melted in a short period of time(10 years). To the best of modern man’s knowledge all these changes are unprecedented. Most of the world’s climate changes in the past took hundreds and thousands of years (even millions). So this rapid change we are experiencing is different and needs to be addressed. Not if or when but how?

      • 45caliber

eddie, my boy! Yes, old Tom did work on light bulbs for years – but he did NOT do the same thing over and over!! That is the problem with the lefties. They simply do not understand the differences between scientific research and insanity.

      • 45caliber

Climate change takes thousands and millions of years? Not hardly! Research Krackatoa. It was a volcanic island that blew up about 1896. We had a mini ice age because of the dust that went up in the air – and it still isn’t all gone. Research mammoths found in the ice in Alaska and Siberia. Climate change again – in a VERY short time!

      • a progressive nightmare

45…you’re wasting your time. None of these progressives understand basic science or math. With them, if you say something enough times, then it becomes science and facts, only in a liberal mind.

The fact is, and as I stated to Flashpan, if man is so powerful, then why did we not prevent Mt. St. Hellens from erupting? Debris from Mt. St Helens was evident in the atmosphere all the way to the east coast!

The fact is, if the ring of fire in the pacific were to have a chain reaction it would probably be an (ELE)extension level event for mandkind. These progressives with an IQ of an ameba better get to working on this problem quickly or we are DOOMED. LOL!

I wonder what would happen if the ring of fire were to erupt?
I bet it would get hot as hell, don’t you? Then, once the sun is blotted out for a period of YEARS, I would suggest we would go back into another ICE AGE. I wonder how this VERY POSSIBLE event fits into our progressive “gods of the planet” climate models? LOL!

      • eddie47d

Thank you Caliber for using the words climate change with Krackatoa.Whether it’s volcanos or man made pollution it’s still climate change and has the same effect. The earth will change enough on it’s own without deliberately doing the same thing.

      • Karolyn

have you talked to any people in Europe about their healthcare systems? I have, and everyone I’ve talked to seems to be pretty happy about it. That includes Danes, Dutch and Germans.

      • 45caliber

I’ve talked to both English and Canadians. Neither like it. One Englishman told me it took up to three days AFTER your appointment to see a doctor since a lot of Welfare people use it as a form of entertainment. For emergencies, he pays the doctor about $250 a month just to see him fast – and has to pay 100% of the cost. It figures to paying for insurance here – except here the insurance company will pick up at least 80% of the cost. Many Canadians come to the US for medical aid because their system is so bad.

Yep, matter of fact, I have, they tell me it SUCKS!

I still believe in hope and change, despite what anyone says. Unfortunately, though, many go into politics with grand visions, they are thwarted when they get there. Have you noticed how gray Obama’s getting? Most Presidents by their second year are graying at a rapid rate.

    AND IT GOES ON………………………

VERY QUIETLY OBAMA’S CITIZENSHIP CASE REACHES THE SUPREME COURT

    AP – WASHINGTON D.C. -
In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama’s qualifications for the presidency, the group “Americans for Freedom of Information” has Released copies of President Obama’s college transcripts from Occidental College . Released today, the transcript school indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship.
This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama’s detractors have been seeking. Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim. The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama’s legitimacy and qualification to serve as President article titled, “Obama Eligibility Questioned,” leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obama’s first official visit to the U.K. In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments concerning Obama’s legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey . This lawsuit claims Obama’s dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. Donofrio’s case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama’s citizenship or qualification to serve as president.

Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama’s campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U..S. attorney general, Eric Holder. Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter…

LET OTHER FOLKS KNOW THIS NEWS, THE MEDIA WON’T !

    Subject: RE: Issue of Passport?

While I’ve little interest in getting in the middle of the Obama birth issue, Paul Hollrah over at FSM did so yesterday and believes the issue can be resolved by Obama answering one simple question: What passport did he use when he was shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi ?

So how did a young man who arrived in New York in early June 1981, without the price of a hotel room in his pocket, suddenly come up with the price of a round-the-world trip just a month later?

And once he was on a plane, shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi , what passport was he offering when he passed through Customs and Immigration?

The American people not only deserve to have answers to these questions, they must have answers. It makes the debate over Obama’s citizenship a rather short and simple one.

Q: Did he travel to Pakistan in 1981, at age 20?
A : Yes, by his own admission.

Q: What passport did he travel under?
A: There are only three possibilities.
    1) He traveled with a U.S. .. Passport,
    2) He traveled with a British passport, or
    3) He traveled with an Indonesia passport.

Q: Is it possible that Obama traveled with a U.S. Passport in 1981?
A: No. It is not possible. Pakistan was on the U.S. .. State Department’s “no travel” list in 1981.

Conclusion: When Obama went to Pakistan in 1981 he was traveling either with a British passport or an Indonesian passport.

If he were traveling with a British passport that would provide proof that he was born in Kenya on August 4, 1961, not in Hawaii as he claims. And if he were traveling with an Indonesian passport that would tend to prove that he relinquished whatever previous citizenship he held, British or American, prior to being adopted by his Indonesian step-father in 1967.

Whatever the truth of the matter, the American people need to know how he managed to become a “natural born” American citizen between 1981 and 2008..

Given the destructive nature of his plans for America, as illustrated by his speech before Congress and the disastrous spending plan he has presented to Congress, the sooner we learn the truth of all this, the better.

If you Don’t care that Your President is not a natural born Citizen and in Violation of the Constitution, then Delete this, and then lower your American Flag to half-staff, because the U.S. Constitution is already on life-support, and won’t survive much longer.

Ummm…I believe there is proof that Obama attended Occidental College in 1979-81, Frosh and Soph years, as Barack Obama. I’m not yet sure I believe he is an American Citizen, but this seems to be a false rumor.

      • 45caliber

Actually he did attend then but as Barry Soetoro. And his time there was paid for by Indonesia as one of their citizens.

    • VMC

This person continues to spread false and old news on this site. If you idiots can, you should bar him from the site. If you google just Occidental College Transcripts, you will find that this message has been going around since early 2009, and the entire thing is just plain bunk. It has been proven time and again to be FALSE. James Graham is a liar, if he actually exists!

Watch these people in the “saving the Earth”business and making millions.
It is Gore’s only science. You never hear of Milankovitch cycles that are the first reason why climat is changing,as it has done from the beginning and will be doing for ever.We are ants on this Earth and it will continue on it’s journey well after we are gone.To understand more go to see Maurice Strong on internet.

    • Denniso

Natural climate cycles occur over thousands or millions of yrs, not usually a hundred or 2. This debate is typical of our modern culture where many people w/ NO real training or education think they know better than the highly trained and skilled in society, because they listen to some fool like Limbaugh telling them that something isn’t true. The same thing is going on w/ the economy…buffoons like Beck and Savage encouraging part of the public to think they know more than PHD economists…ridiculous.

I wonder how many of the global warming deniers and people who think they know exactly what to do about the economy, also don’t believe in evolution?

Science isn’t always right, it’s always a work in progress based upon
evidence and experiment and study…but it’s usually more right than
the uneducated mob trying to shout the facts down for political or religious reasons.

      • a progressive nightmare

        Boy, what an “Educated” comment.

      • 45caliber

        Denniso:

Wrong. Climate changes frequently. Most climate change depends upon the sun. One climatologist stated a couple of years ago that the last 100 years or so of our climite has been very unusual in climate terms in that it has been somewhat stable and therefore possible to predict it. His comment was that climate is normally NOT predictable, changing frequently, and that we are going back to the natural state. His whole point was that predictable climate is the basis for most agriculture today. We need to expect the unexpected climate and plant more crops to make up for those that don’t do well.

The last several years has seen the sun being fairly stabile. Astronomers now say that there is increased sun-spot activity and that this activity is one of the things that governs our climate. And it’s on about a 7 year cycle – not millions of years.

You might wish to turn your tv back to Oprah and forget trying to pass yourself off as a scientist.

      • eddie47d

What about all the Conservative “scientists” on this site? So many experts and so little facts.

      • JeffH

The Lord knows you know about so little about the facts. You never have any.

      • eddie47d

      • 45caliber

Actually, I’m a mechanical engineer but they require engineers to have a lot of science and math. I once figured that if I took 9 more hours of math and 12 more hours of science I could earn two more degrees … except the colleges require 32 hours for another degree.

      • Denniso

Astronomers are scientists…climate scientists are as well. If most credentialed astronomers think that sun activity is causing warming then why wouldn’t they talk to their fellow climate scientists and tell them the breaking news, then the scientific community would mostly agree that warming is not caused by man. The problem w/ your theory is that most climate scientists agree that warming is human caused or at least made worse by us.

I’m and engineer w/ many courses in science…I don’t claim to be a scientist which is why I generally give the benefit of the doubt to real scientists who spend their lives and everyday working on the problem. In the same way, if a knowledgeable plumber gives me advice on a plumbibg issue, I tend to trust him.

      • independant thinker

“If most credentialed astronomers think that sun activity is causing warming then why wouldn’t they talk to their fellow climate scientists and tell them the breaking news, then the scientific community would mostly agree that warming is not caused by man.”

I have read many articles and seen many science programs stating just that but they never gets any “press”.

      • Denniso

No, most astronomers are not global warming deniers, and in the scientific community ‘press’ is not what determines the truth…rather
it is preponderance of evidence and debate and experiment that gete to the truth. Scientists don’t get into press wars unless they believe
in a majority that an issue is crucial enough to try to alert the public to get them motivated to do something about it. They seldom wage PR battles in the press against disenting views…that happens in peer reviewed journals and symposia.

      • Jim H.

Hi Denniso, Is my cousin, who is a professional meteorologist qualified to have an opinion, or would he just be a “denier” too? I doubt he listens to Beck or Savage either. He just studies meteorology for a living.

      • Denniso

Hey JimH…everyone can have an opinion, but shouldn’t it be based upon the best science and evidence, rather than emotion or politics?
If your cousin is a highly trained Meteorologist then he should understand the problem more so than the average layperson. But,it’s also possible that he may allow his political feelings weigh in where they shouldn’t. That’s why any scientific theory or knowledge has to have, over time,a preponderance of evidence on it’s side and a majority
of scientists as well. It’s pretty tough to have 100% of all scientists agree, but 75-80% starts looking good.

Like I asked in another post here, how many of the global warming deniers also refuse to accept one of the strongest scientific theories around, evolution? There is virtually NO scientific debate about it,other than details and timing, yet something like 1/2 of Americans don’t believe it. Doesn’t that make you wonder about the people who deny both theories?

      • Jim H.

Hi Denniso, If my cousin let politics rule his thinking, he would not think the way he does. He grew up in a house hold that was staunch Democrat. When it comes to meteorology that has been his passion since he was in middle school. Politics wouldn’t over rule his objectivity. He does say there is a lot of grant money out there to study global warming, so maybe he does have a healthy skepticism going there.

      • Denniso

Does he think that humans are not responsible at all for global warming?

      • Jim H.

Hi Denniso, His conclusion is the climate is changing naturally. It isn’t man made. Since he has more resources and education to draw on than I do, I consider him to be a valid source. ( He is family ,so I may be a little bias)

      • Denniso

The way science works, he could be right, but it’s highly unlikely. Almost all well trained climate scientists think,w/ evidence to support it,that humans are responsible for at least part of climate change,if not all of it. I think it’s good for science to debate issues, but when there is an almost total consensus the time for debate
is done. The debate isn’t just some abstract scientific problem,it’s about the future of human life on earth. Even some people who don’t know or believe in human caused warming want to be safe, since the stakes are so high, and think we should err on the cautious side and curtail greenhouse gases. Wouldn’t that be the ‘conservative’ thing to do? Less risky than doing nothing and waiting to see if we boil away?

      • Jim H.

Hi Denniso, Just for fun let’s kick around some ideas on global warming. I don’t know where you get your stats from, 75 to 80% consensus, are you sure it’s that high? Consensus doesn’t mean fact. The consensus WAS the earth is flat and the sun revolved around it. I hear no one has proved that global warming is not man made, on the other hand no one has proved that it is. If some one proved we caused it, how we caused it, and what to do to correct it, the grant money stops.(yes, I’m a skeptic) I understand erring on the side of caution. If the rapids look to rough, I portage my canoe even if I might be able to make it. I may be able to absorb the extra cost for my energy use, but some of the poor may not. I can’t afford my cost and to help subsidize theirs too. Carbon offsets are a joke, It didn’t stop the footprint, someone just paid money to make one. I hear about people being taxed and fined for creating green house gasses. Who gets the tax and fine money? Are they going to use it to find real solutions or just build another bureaucracy? Throwing money at something doesn’t solve everything. I know my cousin has the resources and education needed to use those resources, to come to an educated conclusion, just because you don’t agree with them doesn’t make them any less valid.

  • Vigilant

“Global Climate Disruption?” Is that supposed to be a euphemism?

Speaking of makeovers, now that Al Gore is their poster great, not.Remember when he was running for president?Every time we saw him he had a different look.He looked like a little girl playing dressup. And remember John Kerry wind surfing and oh that great hunter shot. These guys think we are the fools and we think they are rediculous.I read an email that showed the last 20 presidents that had cabinet members that had actually had a real job,the lowest was 30 and the higest was 57.Obamas’ cabinet has 8 people who have actually had a real job or never had to make a payroll. All of his cabinet members are aaacademics.Yes I did that on purpose. They have never had a real job. These are people who cowdown students in their classrooms. What was that ole saying.”People who can’t do teach”,or something like that.Anyway they don’t know anything about real life. All of their paychecks have come from the government,or colleges. All they know is numbers and words on paper,no experience in real life. They were either in leftist orginizations, colleges or government. And now they know how to tell us how to live, when they have never had to make it from paycheck to paycheck. They were guarenteed a paycheck every week no matter what.No wonder they are so out of touch with the rest of the world. They need to hear what my grandfather used to say,”Without common sense, all the book learning in the world will just make a smartelic fool.”

At Homeland Security, Obama appointed the gov of AZ whose efforts to combat illegal immigration included cracking down on employers who hire illegals, forgers who sell fake ID, and deterence at border crossings. At Interior, there’s a farmer and private sector lawyer who was a member of the House and the Senate for awhile. At Defense, he’s got a guy who worked his way from entry level to become CIA Director, and was former president of TX A&M. At Education is the former CEO of the 3rd largest school system in the US. The Attorney General was appointed to the bench by Ronald Reagan. Others include the former governors of Washingon State and of Iowa. Facts, buddy. Learn some.

Would that 2-pack-a-day smoker really make it even to the 10th mile of the Marathon?

As an add-on to the list: Jimmy Carter. His new mottos could be:
    1. At least I’m no longer the worst President of the last 40 years;
    2. It’s all Ted Kennedy’s fault!

    • Casey in Texas

Im to young to remember much of J. Carter. I was born in ’72. I come from a strong union democrat family both sides so my opinion is considered very stupid one to them. Makes for great Thanksgiving dinners. Anyway, its puzzling to me that Carter waits until Ted Kennedy dies to come out with the blame game on him? What like 30 years later to say something wasnt his fault? What a pu$$!! Or was he really scared that he might end up in a river? I hear it over and over again that the right has no ideas. Yes we do in fact or ideas are 220-235 years old. We arent the progressives ones! We think the country how it was orginally founded is just fine with us. We belive it wasnt broke so why did progressives try to fix it? They want two classes in the world. The ruling class and the peasants. One thing is for sure all liberals, democrats, progressives, or whatever they want to call themselves, do is blame other people for there mistakes. Kinda of like Carter blaming Kennedy that is funny! You would think they didnt come from the same party!!! Why didnt he blame someone else on the right?? That dude is an idiot. The other thing progressives do in a debate is talk over you. They dont come with anything they just try to drown you out. Then when you finally prove them wrong after about 3 hours of debate. They simple say Im not going to argue with you! And run and hide. Just like all these liberal/progressives/democrats do on here. On global whatever, I thought it was acid rain destroying the world, I mean global cooling, whatever the left tries to use as scare tatics to get their aggenda passed they will use. Well, it doenst work to us Right wing radical Christians, because we know who has control over everything and that person decides when it is over no one else!!! That person is GOd!! I dont think that progressives even belive in GOD at least not the one that i belive in. We will have change and its coming in Novemeber. Just a reminber to registar voters if you are inactive in voting then you lose your registration. I found that out last election. Thanks Clinton!! Why did they make that law?

      • 45caliber

Don’t worry. You didn’t miss much by missing Carter.

      • SFC Townsend (R)

Mr. Carter accomplished over ninety percent of his goals in his short time in office. He is much maligned by the opinings of individuals who have no real knowledge of the economic, military and political events of his term. Presidents, as a whole, do not rule tyrannically in the United States, but act as one part of a whole, including not only the other two-thirds of our three-part, federal government but industrial, corporate, and citizen influences, as well as the international community and acts of God. Most of the world agrees, however, that Mr. Carter continued to pursue his goals after leaving office, and has had a noticebly positive impact in terms of international negotiations and efforts to combat the effects of poverty.

Very Good. The cowards just change the name of something instead of admitting the wrong. That global warming crap made an idiot like Gore richer. Man will never change what God controls. Speaking of changing names, Combat was taken out of the names of many Army units and replaced by Advisory. Big idiot T.V. shows a few troops leaving Irag, but the majority of the same troops are still in Irag doing exactly what they have been doing, fighting insurgents and dieing. While this idiot kenyan imposter thinks he is swimming in success by taking the combat troops out of Irag. All that idiot did was take combat out of the name of our troops, and that stuff he is swimming in, is hog sewage run-off.

    • 45caliber

Gore discovered a company that produces equipment to remove CO2 from the air. The only trouble is that it costs billions to install. Due to his contacts in Washington, if he can get them to pass a law stating that CO2 has to be removed from plant exhausts, that company would become one of the richest in the world. So he bought up a lot of stock and now pushes that in an effort to get the people to believe his hogwash and give the government permission to do it. If they do, he will become richer than Bill Gates who – the last I heard – was worth over $80 billion.

And his friends in Washington are in favor of it because they expect Gore to give them millions in “reelection” campaign funds.

      • Jim H.

45caliber, I found something that removes co2 from the air. It’s called a tree. Just plant an acorn.

      • 45caliber

That’s what I tell every person I meet who is worried about CO2. In fact, a single large oak tree will take care of all the CO2 you can put out in your life.

Further, there is enough trees in Brazil, Siberia, or the NW US for each area to take care of all CO2 now. CO2 is a mock threat originated by Gore so he can make billions of dollars selling equipment to industry IF he can convince enough people to let the government require the equipment.

      • a progressive nightmare

Correct and another interesting fact is, there are more trees in American NOW than they were 100 years ago. I guess that has contributed to our “Global Warming”? LOL!

Kinda like Nixon taking credit for winning the Vietnam War, Not!

      • Brad

Obama will have all US troops out of Iraq by end of summer next year, is it right some agree some don’t. Did Nixon bring US troops home from Vietnam, yes he did, but it was the unjust excelleration of combat troops sent to South Vietnam by JFK and LBJ in turn which caused the death of 58,195 Americans. All in the name of preventing the spread of communism. Look at the out come, a political war where the military had their hands tied, the politicians calling the shots instead of their military commanders. DO we still have combat troops in Iraq today, we sure in the hell do, but there advisers and they train local police and Iraqi Army units and assist local Iraqi units when asked.

      • eddie47d

You’r right, the Vietnam War never should have been. Shame on Johnson for escalating it and he knew he made a mistake when he dropped out of the Preidential race. Nixon promised to end the war and even called Johnson out on that. But he didn’t and there wasn’t any of his phony “peace with Honor” for there was no honor in our getting involved to begin with. Remember Ford was President when the war ended and Nixon was a Tricky con before Ford took over.

      • JeffH

Wrong again…Tricky Dick Nixon officially ended direct U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.

On January 15, 1973, citing progress in peace negotiations, Nixon announced the suspension of all offensive actions against North Vietnam, to be followed by a unilateral withdrawal of all U.S. troops. The Paris Peace Accords on “Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam” were signed on January 27, officially ending direct U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.

You aren’t supposed to read them! Even the Congressmen don’t. Once they are passed and given to some agency, the agency writes down what it means. Obviously it doesn’t. But since you aren’t a liberal, you can’t understand that.

      • SFC Townsend (R)

I was just looking at how big the government has become, which is obviously part of some liberal, progressive, tax and spend conspiracy; right? Went to the Personal Liberty Digest, and read an article by Chip Wood, where he quoted the Declaration of Independence, talking about, “commissions, buraucratic monstrosities or other meddlesome agencies that harass our people and eat out their substance” (talking about King George). He compared those to our current, bloated goverment. Looking at those agencies, I see the Dept of Ag was created under Abe Lincoln in 1862, Eisenhower; the Dept of Health and Human Services which was finally split under Carter in 1979 and is now 3 Depts: Housing, Education and Health, and finally; Homeland Security (Bush-2003). All Republicans. All “conservatives”. Yeah. Right. Whose side is who on?

Global Warming is such a hoax. I think our government scientists are messing with out atmosphere, causing problems and then trying to blame the effects on “global warming”. Check out the HAARP project. I think our government is messing with things that are too big for their britches – not telling us about what the real side effects are and trying to cover it up. I know it sounds conspiracy theory, but it would be just like them!

We should all be questioning what the government has spent millions of our tax dollars on and the public is being given no knowledge of it.

Ma’am, “could you say fired instead of hired? we’ve worked very hard to get rid of her”………..May the people of SF show their intelligence and get rid of her!
Tea Party people are just America Loving Patriots!!!

Focusing on the problems..IMHO a waste of Time.

Focusing on the solution..desperately needed. If you think that NOV is a solution, your going to be sorely disappointed.

If a candidate is OK with the Federal Reserve or doesnt know that its a Private Bank..dont vote for them.

If a candidate is OK with Corporate welfare it’ll be obvious…hes on a major ticket which is supported and endorsed by Corporate interests. A vote for them is a Vote Against we the people

If a candidate supports 1 amendment but mentions nothing of the others, there’s your sign….another OBAMA. Dont Vote for them, they are playong to special Interests

If a candidate cant tell you why Afganistan & Iraq are Illegal, then they dont understand the English language used in the Constitution. Dont Vote for a candidate that doesnt Understand the Constitution they will swear an OATH to!

    • 45caliber

The Dems get more from corporations and give back to them more than the GOP. Further, if a candidate is in favor of individual welfare (including Oblamacare) he should be rejected.

  • Pat

Good job Ben. But, I think “it is Bush’s fault should have been both the first and the last item on all the lists. It is the very essence of the Democratic party’s mantra !

    • eddie47d

I thought it was the Republicans playing the blame Clinton mantra we heard for 7 long years.

      • Brad

That’s Obama and company’s main platform, blame bush for the woes of the country. Obama signed 787 billion stimulus, HCR, Financial reform, Take over of Sallie Mae, cash for clunkers and other bills he’s signed into law that add to the national deficit. So why can’t Obama stand up and take credit for his actions today, because he knows it has caused more harm than good, it’s going to cost yours and my kids and grandchildren before this mess is paid for.

  • Larry C.

    Hello,
Ben this is priceless, and I really mean that. I have never laughed so hard. These are just but a few of the thousands of LIBERAL quacks out there that deserve to be made over, and I know like you said bandwidth does not allow for such a list. When will people wake up? I am so happy that some already have, and that is what the Tea-Party is all about. May God help America before it is to late.

    Larry C.

  • George Williams

The repackaging of global warming reminds me of the 1970′s. American Motors, hard hit by the gas crisis, had almost no money to retool to improve mechanicals to improve gas mileage. It did, however, manage to come up with enough cash to put opera windows and square headlights on its “Hornet” model — creating the “Concord!”

“It’s not fast. It just sounds fast!”

Changing from global warming to global climate disruption is not even retooling at all. It’s just changing the name plate.

It’s too bad Ford didn’t change the name of the Edsel to something else in time to fool people into buying it.

    • Larry C.

Hey George I love your post, but I have a better way to look at these losers. To me they are “Global-Whiners”. Whnever man tries to do the work of Almighty God we get into trouble, and that is what has happened ever since the man made garbage started.

      Larry C.

    • Pat

Actually the 1958 Edsel was a pretty good car. My dad had one with over 300 horsepower. His buddy had a Ciatation with 410 cubic inch V-8 with three dueces that put out 400 horsepower. Now that was a fast car in 1958.NOt much could beat it in a drag race.

      • 45caliber

I had a Ford Galaxy with over 400 hp. It could do all of 210 mph without a problem. Wish I could get a brand new one just like it. It was one of the largest cars on the road and it got better gas milage than most small cars do now.

      • independant thinker

I had an AMC Javalin with a 290 V-8 and 3 speed manual that got better milage the faster you drove if you could drive a constant speed like on the interstate or long stretches on two lane roads.

      • independant thinker

        I should have said a 1969 Javalin

    • a progressive nightmare

Yep! Kinda like changing the liberal label to progressive and then back again.

  • Michael J.

I get it, that’s a recipe for roasted dog, right?

  • valricoslash

Ben. You left of “Its Bush’s fault.” from about half, but i liked them all.

  • Billy

Don’t use the word Global at all, go back to WORLD WIDE.

    • dordor

I agree… we should use our own terminology for climate change..it’s called seasons and it doesn’t cost anything.

      • ontopic

No comment on the distinction between the terms seasons and climate but there is (as you imply) money at stake here.

Why is it that Russia, US, Canada, Norway, and Denmark are all “debating” about who owns what in the Arctic? It’s because there is already enough credible evidence to suggest “using” this area will be increasing cost-effective. There’s no voters up there, only money.

      • 45caliber

        It’s called “black gold”.

It is an interesting map too. Russia claims a lot – even over Alaska. Canada claims a lot. Iceland claims a little – and Denmark claims a lot. The US? Very little despite Alaska’s shores. I think Iceland claims more of it that the US does.

      • Carole Howell

Global warming whether ‘man made’ ‘nature made’ or a combination of both is happening, it is a fact.

      • JeffH

I thought it was Global colling or Climate change or is it still Global warming? Why do they keep confusing the people? Because they can!

      • JeffH

        “cooling”

      • independant thinker

I would not say it is happening but rather it will happen. It was not so very long ago the scientist were worried about us entering another ice age. Now they are worried about the warm trend who can prove it will not enter another cooling spell next year.

There are going to be fluctuations in the temperature trends both up and down no matter if we humans have any influence or not. The sunspot cycle affects our weather, the fluctuations in the earth’s orbit around the sun affect our weather, Volcanic activity affect our weather, and on and on.

One other thought. If a super volcano such as yellowstone (which is due to explode based on average times between eruptions) did explode any concerns about global warming would be quickly forgotten in the aftermat and race to find and stockpile enough food to survive for 10 or so years.

      • a progressive nightmare

        Let’s see your facts.

      • 45caliber

As someone else said: “Why do you believe someone who can’t predict what the weather will be tomorrow to tell you what it will be in a hundred years or more?”

  • JeffH

Ben, great great scribe with all of the right, er, should I say left points well covered. Like sc said, I really can’t add too much more other than Obama is a Marxist without some liberal hack getting their feelings hurt.

I can one of the liberal hacks standing, hands on hips, telling me not to dis-respect the president. NOT!

    • JeffH

I can just picture one of the liberal hacks standing at their pc, hands on hips, telling me not to dis-respect the president. NOT!

      • ontopic

There should a distinction between the office of the president and the president himself.

Case in point. A recorded speech from the president to school children on the importance of education is more about the latter than the former. And it’s not “indoctrination”. If there was something in the message of the speech which caused offense then this is okay to critique but just having the speech is not an offense. Taking issue with the fact there was a speech is disrespectful to the office of the president.

Maybe this will help make the distinction: It is tradition that the president calls the Super Bowl winner to offer congratulations – that’s more a function of the office rather than the person. While I’m sure the president has a preferred winner on most occasions, it’s not as if that team has won each and every time.

P.S. If they are standing at the PCs with “hands” on hips how are they “telling” you what to do? Is it the case that you post comments without typing? Or can you type while your hands are on your hips? (sounds awkward) – Anyways thanks for the mental image – my laugh for the day!

      • 45caliber

Most of us respect the office of the President. But most of us here do NOT respect the man holding that office. Incidently, “President” when referring to the office is capitolized. You might want to remember that – if you respect it.

      • a progressive nightmare

        LOL!

      • eddie47d

Then call Obama President Obama instead of all the other labels. You can disagree with his policies without the extreme name calling. Some on this site need to show some of that Presidential class instead of coming across as neanderthals climbing out of a cave.

      • JeffH

ontopic, I don’t play by Alinsky’s rules..that’s for you guys and gals and I really have reached a point that I don’t care what you’ve got to say. The time for your kind of talk is over. I’ve no room in my parlor for Marxists, socialists or communists which clearly means there’s no room for you and your comrads.

      • JeffH

Thought I’d offer a little lesson for you…ever hear of “speech recognition” software? Didn’t think so!

      • JeffH

Jen, I’ve seen that you’ve used that word , narcissist, on more than one occasion. You’ve mis-used and confused the meaning. Prove what you accuse and don’t mistake my frontal attacks on some liberal hack as being narcissistic. I get my enjoyment from presenting the facts, not from the rhetoric of some liberal hack.

      • eddie47d

She has you pegged! You get you’re enjoyment from slanderous “wise” cracks and dabble it in with selective “facts” from other right wing sites. You’re a classic narcissistic …..

      • JeffH

Jen, you’ve accused me of being narcissistic and again I’ll say you need to get your facts straight. I said every bit of what I’m credited with and meant every word. The door swings both ways little mis-informed one. I’d like you to explain where I displyed my narcisissism othe than your mis-used version.

nar·cis·sism  [nahr-suh-siz-em] Show IPA –noun 1. inordinate fascination with oneself; excessive self-love; vanity. 2. Psychoanalysis . erotic gratification derived from admiration of one’s own physical or mental attributes, being a normal condition at the infantile level of personality development.

      • JeffH

Jen, Obama is a classic example of a pathological narcissists.

Narcissus was an actor, as are all who succumb to his malady of self-obsession. Obama considers himself to be a star players on the world stage. The more grandiose the narcissist’s image, the bigger the lies required to protect it.
Example: It is significant that Obama mock the Judeo-Christian tradition, because that tradition carries with it a standard of truth and conduct.
Obama’s “world as it should be” will be one that glorifies the two-dimensional, backwards, grandiose, greedy idol-images of himself.

Within that morally upside-down world, the walls protecting our republican government and our Judeo-Christian values will crumble — just as Obama said in Berlin that they must — and our people will be sacrificed to the false god of malignant narcissism.

      • JeffH

        Did Jen’s comments just disappear?

      • SFC Townsend (R)

You said, “I don’t play by Alinsky’s rules..that’s for you guys and gals and I really have reached a point that I don’t care what you’ve got to say. The time for your kind of talk is over. I say to you, sir, that you are a seditionist; a citizen who opposes the foundations on which this great nation and its Constitution were built. Every voice must be heard. The substitute is tyranny. Mind your words (or for starts; why don’t you learn the definitions before using them).

  • s c

There’s not much I can add to this article, Ben. If I added aything to the article, it would be a short list of extremely pointed expletives, designed to put the knee-buckling, white-knuckle fear of early retirement into the hearts of the many subhuman monsters in Washington.

    • HFlashman

Easy article to read. Right off the bat, the author discredits any hint of impartilaity then goes to prove he writes either through the foogy airs of ignorance, the green seas of being a paid hacker for the Right, or the red mercenary streams of manipulation and making money feeding from the ignorant fearful, hate filled masses comprising todays Conservative movement.

Fox News. Jeesh. Let’s begin the article with a lie…’cause whatever Fox spews, it sure ain’t news. Fact is…there is nofact in the article. Go ahead…read it through again carefully. Not one fact. All made up and filled with hate, fear, envy, and manipulation so that you…yes you..the Conservative reader is maniplated, filled with prpoaganda, lied to and mislead.

Offering solutions? The “solutions’ if any..are akin to driving down a road and having to make a turn because a building stands in the way. Easy solution…move the building, and the adjacent building, and the one afer that. Have it done immediately and don’t worry…because it’s been mentioned as the solution…it must be an easy fix…right? Don’t worry about the infrastructure, don’t worry about the owners…it’s all minor stuff.

Would anyone buy that line of spiel? No. Yet there are those who will, in essence, not only buy it….but can somehow convince themselves that the speaker was correct and anyone who disagrees must be “the enemy”.

That’s the goal of this author and those who join his ilk in being paid to manipulate you into believing the hate, the fear, and not see the power grab for which he is paid to hide. Logic goes out the window. Reason takes a back seat.

Ask yourself..if you wanted to have a good, honest, complete debate…would you not offer a solution to the proposal you are opposing? Or…if you wanted nothing less than stall, cause disruption, throw morale and unity out the window, and most importantly have no solution to offer other than one which would expose your past actions and your forward goal showing you to be in line with a select few whose interests are against that of the good….would you just say “no’ to every solution, decline any participation, and broadcast lies, mistruths, and be as obstructionist as possible?

Now ask yourself..what has the GOP done? Further America? …or ..

      • L.A.

WOW, what ranting! At this point if YOU don’t get what the Progressives are doing to America then you are very nieeve or stupid!!
Go watch MSNBC, obviously, that’s where you get your information!

      • HFlashman

LA…so you’re saying that the past 30 years when the Conservatives and Far Right were calling the shots…we are standing tall ? Seriously?

Astonishing….that anyone can look back since Raygun took office (may he be very very warm where he is right now) and say we are better off today than before 1981 because the Far Right and Conservative policies worked?

Give me a break….or send some of those drugs you’re taking …

      • Brad

Flash get your facts strait congress has been controlled by the democ “Rats” for 18 of those 30 year’s. The rats had controll going back another 30 more year’s, now isn’t that funny???

      • HFlashman

Brad…so you’re taking the tack that the WH doesn’t push the agenda for Congress to consider? That Raygun didn’t have the yellow dog Democrats in his corner ? And that the Dems at every step of the way said ‘no” and did nothing but obstruct and divide?

Yet…you give Raygun credit for his “accomplishments” … and Bush I credit for his ‘accomplishments”, and even..grudgingly ‘ give clinton credit for his “accomplishments’ … and what about Shrub’s six years with a GOP controlled Congress?

When the Right was fought and defeated…we went forward. When the Right was accomodated and given its way…we went into the abyss.

And overall…the record for the GOP and the Right is abysmal.

Fact is fact. No matter how you want to spin it. Doing anything the Conservative way led only one way … against us and for the wealthy and Big Corporate America.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

The president doesnt control what the politicians do flashy boy, no, congress does. And the democrats have controlled congress many, many more years than the republicans. They are the wankers leading us amuck, creating social programs we cant afford, and keeping millions on the public dole instead of looking for a damn job. Get real, and wake up, and join the human race. Your left wing buddies are destroying us as fast as they can. Can you not see that? Here is the most recent example of how they work things. Michelle Obama was employed at the University of Chicago Medical Center who hired her in 2002 to run “programs for community outreach, volunteer recruitment, staff diversity and minority contracting”. In 2005, the hospital raised her salary from 120,000 a year to 317,000 a year, twice what her husband made as a Senator. Of course, he had just become a Senator, and requested an earmark for the UC Medical Center for 1 million dollars. Nice networking Michelle. Now that she has resigned, as Barack is the president, the hospital says her position will remain unfilled. How can that be, if the work she did was vital enough to pay 317,000? Let me add, Michelle’s position was part time, 20 hours a week. So just how did this quid pro quo corruption escape all the reporters that were digging as deep as they could to find dirt on Sarah Palin, but couldnt find any? What a joke the left wing liberals are, and what a joke the left wing liberal press is. Thank God for Fox News where people can actually hear the truth. And flashy boy, read this please. Recession is when your neighbor loses his job. Depression is when you lose your job. Recovery is when Obama and the democrats lose their jobs. There you go. Some truth for your day.

      • Kinetic1

The point being missed here is that “Global Warming” was an unfortunate choice to describe the condition. Yes, the theory is that Earth’s temperature does rise, leading to the moniker “Global Warming”, but the short term effect of this warming can be increased temps in one region and reduced in another. Watch any video or look at a chart like this [ http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2004/05mar_arctic/ ] describing the effect of polar ice melt on the oceans flow, and it’s clear what the concern is. Warming is the cause, but the true effect is best described as Global Climate Change.

I understand your skepticism. After all, you’re used to hearing the Republican party referring to the end of their decade old Bush tax cut as a Democratic tax increase, even though the Republicans scheduled the end date to get it through. While were on that subject, your used to hearing that the Democrats are up to “dirty tricks” when they use the same rules that were used to push through the Bush tax cuts! And we all know that any judge who rules against what the conservatives want is an “Activist judge,” but when he (I say he because every good conservative knows how unlikely it is that a good, conservative judge is female) turns decades of accepted ruling on it’s ears, well he’s just a solid “Constitutionalist”. And let’s not forget FOX’s “Fair and Balanced”! That’s what you get when you put Blow Hard Sean Hannity on the same show as milquetoast moderate Alan Colmes. Now there was a show where you could always count on hearing both sides (If you could hear Colmes underneath Hannity’s screeching rant.) Yep, you have to watch out for these name changers.

      • Brad

Answer one question, who has control of the purse strings and where is 13+ trillion dollars at?

Congress controlls the money and legislation, the president is just a figure head, a sitting president can either take the full brunt of bad decisions made by congress or take full credit when things go right. So, why aren’t we holding congress accountable for the mess we are in, is it easyier to blame the president and his policies. Currently Obama and his policies to include legislation from congress has cost us today 3.4 trillion in new deficit spending, why aren’t you crying about that??? Inquiring minds want to know.

      • Conservative at Birth

The Republicans have never had a fillabuster proof majority in the Senate. They have never been in total control. That is why the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 were sunsetted. Get off the the phone Ya Big Dope!

      • Denniso

What a long winded and pretentiously wrong headed article! Global warming is not even close to discredited and appears all the more ‘real’ after this summer of super flooding rains around the world in apparently unprecedented numbers. The most recent in Mexico and Wisconsin and Minnesota. The self interested and delusional ‘conservatives’ who are doing the work for corporate America in fighting science and the facts for the monetary benefit of big biz, will continue their denials as the facts and the weather changes mount.

Once again, the Repubs position comes down to money…maintaining the sometimes obscene profits of companies like Exxon while the earth,it’s animal/plant and human life tries to cope w/ a building disaster, the likes of which humans heve never seen.

      • alpha-lemming

WOW!!! Where to begin??? I didn’t know it was possible to be 540 degrees out of phase with labels, history, and recent/current reality, but you’ve proven me wrong.

First…. Conservatives is charge??? Like who?? Bushes, McLame, Lott, Grahamnesty??? They’re progressive-lite, “socialism is an acceptable bi-partisan compromise between Constitutional government and Communist government”, vote-buying, government growing imposters and NOT… repeat… NOT CONSERVATIVES. I don’t know if we’ve seen a handful of REAL conservatives (Reagan… Dems “broke the deal” in ’80s and grew DC… not RWR, who can’t spend any money… read the Constitution) since the Civil War. Just increasing progressive implementation (Wilson, FDR, LBJ, Bubba, Chairman ObaMao) resulting in loss of freedom, redistribution, and dependancy. Federalism is dead… killed by the death of a 1000 cuts… with only the centralized oligarchy remaining.

Second…. your definition of far-right and mine are different I think. I have little use for the Pat Robertson/Falwell wing of the party, as far as institutionalizing a theocracy is concerned, but I haven’t seen them writing any policy. I suspect your definition (correct me if I’m wrong) of the far-right is “anyone who doesn’t facilitate voter and welfare fraud is a racist, greedy, and enriching the wealthy”. It’s wrong, but that’s the only bullet in the progressive idea-gun.

Finally… as a good will, olive branch I’d like to reassure you that it is indeed very VERY warm where Reagan is…. in the “cockles of the heart” of every conservative, Constitutionalist in the country.

      • eddie47d

Brad; We wish Ben Crystal would get his facts straight. His tirade was that of a little child. He screams and hollers and threw a political tantrum and still said nothing. He says he wants to restore honesty but resorts to being totally dishonest. I’ll take Steve Colbert over this guy and that isn’t saying much!

      • John

The conservatives never had control of the senate or house during Reagan’s term so it is amazing that he even got anything done. AS for going to pre Reagan yea I like the 20% mortgage rates, high unemployment, and gas lines!!! Just more proof that Socialism does not work.

      • Brad

        Eddie47d,

Go ahead and blame someone because they don’t think or write the way you want then to. I blame Keith Olberman for race baiting, ya he’s a white guy with a progressive mantra, he isn’t fair and biased, just remember two wrongs don’t make a right.

And “humor” based in painting those who are at least trying as evil, stupid, and subtly portraying our fellow Americans as ‘the Enemy’ …

Flushpan,,,, I have a solution, since you asked. Vote all the progresive-marxist commies out come November and RESTORE the Republic through the complete re-institution of OUR constitution. Oh, I forgot, you think AMERICA belongs to the Soros NWO, correct? I guess WE THE PEOPLE can’t implement my suggestions? I forgot to ask Soros, Jones, Aires, the new black panthers, seiu, acorn etc. etc etc…..SUCKS! How dumb of me!

Notice I made no delineation between the dems or pubs because it is the “Progressive-Stupid”. Been trying to tell you that for months now.

…and by th way, when did the “Far Right” start calling the shots???? Heck, if the “Far Right” had been calling the shots for the past three decades, as YOU suggest, then we would be a REPUBLIC not a “Progressive Nightmare”.

My gosh man, that sounds exactly as the platform that Obama used to run for president. He offered no solutions, no plans, and like a child in school pointed the finger and blamed others. That is the democrat playbook that you just laid out pal. Nice work.

Hey HalfBrain, (probability less) Even a moron like you should be able to tell “Global Climate Disruption” is a sack of processed fuel. Let’s see, the Age of the Reptiles (Devonian, for us educated people) was more freaking hot then now, and since we were not even out of our nappies as a species, how did man cause the first large Ice Age? Or for that matter the warmth of the Devonian? For all you, “humans is bad people” kooks, (the left, for moronic DNC paid talking points psychopaths) the big ball of fire in sky (the sun) does most of work, or non work, right now. I would be much more concerned about the start of the next active cycle than global change. (See Carrington event) It might make the electronic age, fried, much like your brains.

I was just noticing the labels have changed. It looks like yesterday’s “liberal” is today’s “progressive”. It’s all about “us” against “them”. At any rate; anyone for or against the ideas of climate change theory; please research urban heat islands. Seems urban sprawl undeniably leads to temperature increases in the affected areas. If you’re living in a rural area, you can get the same effect by standing next to the tailpipe of an idling car, or on a tin roof. Population control seems to be the answer to many of the themes discussed here; joblessness, climate change, dwindling resources, etch. I guess we all need to balance individual freedoms against personal responsibility. That sounds like a very conservative statement, but it’s the “conservative” wing that opposes any form of birth control, promotes economic expansion through growth, etc. Strange days indeed. Most peculiar, momma.

      • SFC Townsend (R)

I apologize. I misspelled a word. “etch” should have been “etc.”

      • Brad

        HFlashman,

So what you are saying in a nut shell, it’s my way or the highway, no discussion, do not pass go do not collect 200 dollars go strait to jail for opposing the liberal/progressive mantra. It’s dam time people started listening to EACH OTHER, we can bring solusions by combining the good from both sides of the house. Mr. Crystals article higlighted the extremes on the left and I will say there are extremes on the right, but he is right!!!

Global warming being repackaged as Global climate disruption give me a break, its moronic to say the least. Who’s to profit if cap and trade is signed into law, not the greedy bankers, its Al Gore your global warming alarmist and oscar winner. So why aren’t you and the left crying about the greed of the left, did you know there are more Democratic Congressmen/Senators then Republican, 7 of 10 are Dems and John (The Traitor) Kerry leads the pack, who and don’t forget a tax cheat.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

He is a liberal, and that is the liberal agenda. My way or the highway. They dont care what people want, they could care less what the majority wants, and they could care less about right and wrong, good or bad, or the betterment of the country. All they care about is spreading their left wing liberal anti American agenda around, and they dont care what they have to do to do it. That is the democrats playbook to the T.

      • a progressive nightmare

Yep and the next step will be their jack booted “form of persuasion”. However, I don’t think this is going to work out in the way they think it is.

      • JeffH

Beberoni, you’re missed around here. Welcome back and I can see you haven’t lost a step. Yes, flash and his Marxist/socialist/communist comrads only have one agenda in mind and you sumed it up very well.

Keep up the good fight fellow patriot.

Brad,You’re just a man in an empty suit.

      • JeffH

Brad better to be in an “empty suit?” than be completely emptyeddie headed.

Nice try Jeff but you still get the gong.

FlASHMAN SPEWS THE FOLLOWING: “Easy article to read. Right off the bat, the author discredits any hint of impartilaity [sic] then goes to prove he writes either through the foogy [sic] airs of ignorance, the green seas of being a paid hacker for the Right, or the red mercenary streams of manipulation and making money feeding from the ignorant fearful, hate filled masses comprising todays Conservative movement.”

So much for your feeding from the ignorant fearful, hate filled masses comprising todays left wing movement. Attack the messenger? You’re a poltroon. Not once do you address the issue of global climate change on a factual basis. You’re a loose cannon.

Science is never “settled” as the Gore-types would have you believe. When a scientist starts taking sides on any empirical question, he ceases to be a scientist and becomes just another political zealot.

Too bad the humor plays to 7th grade mentality. That makes it too profound for about 90% of the libs.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Al Gore took some 7th grade science teachers who backed his theory on global warming. However, real geological scientists, the ones who actually know and study this stuff, have since come out in droves saying the evidence shows the planet has actually cooled since the 70′s, and that the ice caps have grown so thick and heavy, that pieces are breaking off of them under their own weight, then growing more. Of course, the Gore-ites take these pictures, and show them to sheeple like flashman, who believe Gore when he tells them they are melting. All in Al Gore’s quest to make a billion dollars tying to sell America this lie. Sad thing is, there are more sheeple’s like flashman around that eagerly buy into the doom and gloom the democrats spread, because they have no lives to speak of. Its pretty sad actually.

      • a progressive nightmare

Well said! You see progressives are wordly people and therefore need a wordly god. “Global Warming” IS the progressives “Golden Cow”. Just think about it for a second or two and it will make perfect sense. ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOULTELY!

If global gore successfully achieves his goal of having the masses(SHEEPLE) believe this nonsense, then he will become the “Global god” who saved planet earth. Thus in effect, USURPS JESUS CHRIST and GOD the FATHER….THE CREATOR.

Matter of fact, all of us adults understand at this point, that the continual assualts from the progressives on our GOD/FAITH, Family values, education system, capitalism, our nation and our constitution have been clevely cloaked in the nonsense of “Collective Salvation” or better put, MARXISM. You see, a FREE peoples of faith cannot be easily fooled and understand that GOD can destroy and/or save the planet however humans cannot.

Bottom line, this type propaganda only works on the least of us with very little faith in GOD and/or common sense…..i.e; sheeple

      • eddie47d

I saw an article on MSN (it lasted maybe half a day before it dissapeared)that said the ice melt was much less than previously stated (I think 90% less).

Global warming is real the question is how much if any influence we humans have on it. Global warming (the period between ice ages) has been going in cycle with global cooling (ice ages) for millions of years.

      • vicki

eddie47. Judging from the number of cites you provide for your proofs I do not think I will worry overmuch about my library.

flashpan said: “Easy article to read. Right off the bat, the author discredits any hint of impartilaity then goes to prove he writes either through the foogy airs of ignorance, the green seas of being a paid hacker for the Right, or the red mercenary streams of manipulation and making money feeding from the ignorant fearful, hate filled masses comprising todays Conservative movement.”

Now, that is very interesting flash. Why don’t you read your own comments and just substitute “progressive” for conservative and see if it fits.

Flashpan contiues: “Fox News. Jeesh. Let’s begin the article with a lie…’cause whatever Fox spews, it sure ain’t news. Fact is…there is nofact in the article. Go ahead…read it through again carefully. Not one fact. All made up and filled with hate, fear, envy, and manipulation so that you…yes you..the Conservative reader is maniplated, filled with prpoaganda, lied to and mislead.”

Same again, just substitute MSNBC or anyother of the numerous progressive controlled propaganda outlets and see if this fits.

Flash continues in his POINTLESS rantings: “Ask yourself..if you wanted to have a good, honest, complete debate…would you not offer a solution to the proposal you are opposing? Or…if you wanted nothing less than stall, cause disruption, throw morale and unity out the window, and most importantly have no solution to offer other than one which would expose your past actions and your forward goal showing you to be in line with a select few whose interests are against that of the good….would you just say “no’ to every solution, decline any participation, and broadcast lies, mistruths, and be as obstructionist as possible?”

What you just described sounds VERY familiar to me? OOOOOHHH, let me think. Oh, you are talking about Obama and the progressives and the most serious divide in this nation that I have personally witness in over a 1/2 century. Thanks for verifying this for us. Kinda makes my depression about this “Progressive Nightmare” even more so depressive.

Now, you call us ignorant but you actually believe in Global Warming???? Who is ignorant here? Heck, a simple 8th grade math equation will totally debunk YOUR unfounded claims about Global warming. You people actually think that you can predict future weather patterns??? You actually think you are smart enough to measure the things of this ever changing planet? Are you nuts or what?

We have about 100 years of climate data collected to date on a planet that is 4.5 BILLION years aged and you think that a 0.000000022% time slice of data is sufficient to draw some kind of “Scientific Conclusion”??? JUNK!!!!!!! Nobody could possibly be this STUPID!

We do have climate change or climate disruption Flash and it happens 4 times a year! It’s called the 4 seasons:

        1.) Winter
        2.) Spring
        3.) Summer
        4.) Fall

Now, isn’t that just amazing! You think maybe we can get cap & tax passed on my “science”?

      • RightOn

Eddie, you have said nothing yet you attack. Shouldn’t you be blogging on MoveOn.org? Plenty of much ado about nothing there. Also, no shortage of party hacks there either.

        1. Cap and tax- just stupid. If it was solely based on bad science that would be understandable since the lib party is heavily supported by the ‘green’ agenda and their money. Got a little research project for you. It involves ShoreBank, located in where else but Chicago, and the Chicago Energy Exchange. Look at its board and you will see prominent theives/libs and look carefully and you will find the Clintons, BarryO, and many of their buddies as directors and shareholders. This is where the energy credits will be sold and the commissions will make all of these ‘neutral’ parties darn near billionaires. That is why the bill is so important to them.

TARP (both of them) You libs rail at big business and give the government a pass on bailing them out with tax-payer dollars. Hypocrites all. They had their shot now its up to them to stand on their own collective two feet.

Small business reform- only see new equipment subsidies there. What about struggling small businesses that dont need equipment- what is in it for them?

Healthcare- Flash’s ideas for that aren’t so bad. Still, we have medicaid to handle this already. Still, socialized medicine doesnt work anywhere else and the working taxpayer will foot more of the bill for the nation’s dependents on top of what we do now. Screwing the nation’s medicare recipients who have paid into the system all their WORKING lives is morally wrong too.

Like his workfare ideas but he needs to take them further. ONE day per week is not enough work for those who are professional welfare recipients. How about 40 hours cleaning up their communities- and from what I’ve seen there is plenty of work to keep them busy. The way they care for their taxpayer funded housing is atrocious. Even dogs are smart enough not to poop where they eat. Drug tests for public aid abusers as a requirement are much needed also. Stay clean or stay indigent. Those of us who foot their bills have rules, so why shouldn’t they?

I enjoyed this article on the whole- nothing said here that isn’t based on current facts. They are just not the fact libs accept. Smaller govt, tarrifs on goods(especially those produced by US corporations abroad), and term limits for kingdom building legislators in both houses would be a good start to mend this country. Do we have the courage to start this? Time will tell.

      • HFlashman

You want what I would suggest as some alternative solutions? OK

        1. Health Care. Erase state limits on selling polices. Break up the five in the oligarchy and repeal the monpoly status granted in ’48. Offer a public ‘option” (option…not mandate). Do not require Physicians, hospitals etc to join in the “option’…but they have to forego federal dollars if they do opt out. And if they opt in, they are in for a period of five years having to accept all, no cherry picking. Encourage public hospitals to join forces and form ‘cooperatives’ where one may specialize in caridac, another in neo natal etc….reduces liklihood of repetitive machinery etc and concetrates expertise.

        2. Economy. I agree with the Stimulus. I agree with TARP II (making ‘em pay back with interest). As to the stimulus, I would target it more specificaly towards alternative energy technology, small business creation (small business…not Big Borp. ‘small business’), rebuild infrastructure, give easier access to credit for homeowners to improve property, etc. I would eliminate ag subsidies for the mega corporate farms and have it available only to family owned/operated farms. I would eliminate any monies smacking of oil. I would put in place cap and trade on emissions and create a bourse for trading. I would do what JFK did..hike taxes on the super wealthy, decrease them on the Middle Class. I would do away with Capital gains…period.

        3. Social programs. I would require at least one day a week ‘contributing” via work ed. etc. You draw on the dole unemployment or welfare…one day a week back to the community. I would eliminate SSI checks for those over 62 having incomes above $60,000. I would target math and science grads…get a degree in X field, work for the gov’t for 5 years in that field…loans are forgiven or decreased.

        4. Immigration. Easiest and quickest solution of anything. If someone knew, or should have known, they were employing undocumented labor, $5000 fine and 30 days in the county lock up…appeal does not stay the sentence. Any and all taxes avoided during the period of employing undocumented workers…doubles and becomes an immediate personal and business lien and garnishment. No one in their right mind would then employ undocumented workers … no jobs..no reason to be here.

        5. Repeal the UnPatriotic Act in its entirety and reestablish the Right to Counsel etc. Shut down gitmo immediately and transfer those held to max security prisons in the US. Then give them public open trials.

And on and on … but those are some of what i would propose as solutions..

      • Vicki

HFlashman and I find common ground. Very small but it is there.

        1. Health Care. Erase state limits on selling polices. Let the free markets decide the prices without state government barriers. That is the purpose of the commerce clause in the Constitution.

        2. Repeal the Patriot Act.

      • Doug

Wow no SS for those over 62 with $60,000! Fart why is their money your to use please explain this to me? Also why do invaders and people who don’t work get any SS? Typical liberal you want to spend my money but when we want your money it not available. Sorry Fartman you are indeed and idoit what college do you work at?

      • JeffH

Flash, do you even know what SSI is? Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a Federal income supplement program funded by general tax revenues (not Social Security taxes):

It is designed to help aged, blind, and disabled people, who have little or no income; and It provides cash to meet basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter.

“I would eliminate SSI checks for those over 62 having incomes above $60,000…”
You can’t get an SSI check if you’re making $60,000/yr or $20,000 for that matter.

      • independant thinker

“I would do what JFK did..hike taxes on the super wealthy, decrease them on the Middle Class.”

I believe JFK cut taxes across the board.

      • Vicki

IT you believe correctly. It is a little hard to dig out the data but clearly the tax cuts by CONGRESS at the request of JFK did indeed help fairly evenly all Americans who had “income” http://www.conservative-politics-infofind.com/JFK.html

Of course the rich get more $$ back from tax cuts. They pay by far the most.

      • RightOn

Flash you started strong and finished progressive(weak). Nice idea and then a bunch of dreaming.

      • refuse2lose

Have you ever thought of taking out that Kool Aid IV? If i was you I would do it STAT,because your brain has turned to mashed potatoes. Not everything that is written has to be factual, just ask the people working for our “unbiased” mainstream media. But of course when THEY do it,you stand and applaud, because you believe that government should teach our kids, feed our kids and then they will vote democrat for life because they are so greatful for what has been done for them and love the fact that they don’t have to work for anything.

What has the GOP done for the USA? It has saved us from the likes of YOU and your ilk. Without the GOP,the USA would be DOA….. and allowing Obama and his clown posse to continue their destructive dance will surely get them their decades long goal.

      • Cherri Roper

Well, here’s a fact…Global warming, climate change, global climate disruption, going green, saving the planet….whatever you want to call it is nothing more that slick marketing for certain groups of people and big business to repackage and market new ideas, package and sell things that would never have sold before. For example, grocery stores and department stores have now found a way to make the customer pay twice for the bags they take their merchandise home in. Hey, buy the fabric or plastic bag and reuse it..therefore the store will not have to supply the bags, even thought that is in their cost and advertising budget, they now are making a profit off the green advertising..and the publis is dumb enough to buy it. I am not saying that we don’t need to take care of our world. I am saying there is a lot of poppycock in all the green hogwash! Al Gore laughs all the way to the bank at how naive and stupid people are! And when they listen to his hog wash they are stupid!!

      • RightOn

HFlashman: Nothing more to say. Just like all the rest of the Loony Left. Give them enough rope and they will hang themselves, with out anyones help. I stated that very fact after the 2006 Election, and the Loony Left proved me right.

      • SLJohnson

Hflashman, you are clearly an astute, well read, and articulate individual. However, you have been brain washed almost beyond saving.
I am one who doesn’t believe either side is free of lies and manipulation, ESPECIALLY the liberal left that is in charge. They have done nothing to fix our problems and everything that have done, from what I have seen, is only making things worse. Do you honestly believe that Bush was a conservative? Really?
The sad fact is HE WAS NOT. He was just a liberal with an R in front of his moniker.
Please, for the good of your soul, you need to stop believing the liberal left. By all means, continue to doubt Republicans. I’m not too fond of the old school Republicans myself. Let’s let the Tea Party take the party back and see what they do.

wasn’t it hitler or gobels that said tell a big lie and keep telling it until the idiots believe it, just paraphrasing. you are an idiot.

      • ontopic

Both. Hitler was accusing the Jews/Marxists – Goebbels was accusing the English of employing the “Big Lie” technique.

They weren’t explicitly endorsing its use but I do think it’s a classic example of projection (ie, imparting one’s thoughts/ideals unto others – there’s a mirror in your future).

Interesting that Hitler was fighting (in words and actions) actual self-proclaimed Marxists but the president is accused of being both.

And of course (back to the article) ‘National Socialist Party’ is a classic example of re-packaging. Among the first things this socialist chancellor did was to outlaw trade unions.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Truth is, we really don’t need brainwashed pawns of Pelosi and Obama here. Reality dictates that we accept them for who they are. You can spout your liberal ideas elsewhere- why are you posting here? There are plenty of liberal comment boards spouting the drivel Flash and Co. are posting here. You come to our boards with your propanganda, expect to be scorned- as we would be on yours. Except we have no interest in liberal ideas. We have seen them fail since 2006.

HFlashman is correct with respect to the “as seen on Fox” lead-in. Reminds of when a bad movie uses reviews from never-heard-of small-town papers because it was totally panned by the national critics.

      Switching gears..

It seems to me that people who present global-warning/climate-change as a right vs left issue fail to appreciate one aspect that makes it unique. Unlike other issues, this one will be empirically resolved one way or another in our lifetime. Abortion/guns/immigration/etc. have been and will be debated for years but climate change is going to either happen or not. Ultimately there will be a “correct” position on this one.

Sort of a modern day version of whether the earth is flat and/or revolves around the sun. Imagine yourself back then – which position would you have taken?

      And finally…

On the subject of packaging: The Ground-Zero Mosque is neither.

      • a progressive nightmare

LOL! Keep believing that Buddy! Read my response to flashpan above. I do have a science and math background so let’s see your “Progressive Facts” that led you to these “scientific conclusions.”

Make sure the “data” hasn’t been progressively corrupted before you send it to me.

      • ontopic

@prog. I was simplifying matters just to underscore the real distinction between the terms “climate change” and “seasons”.

I read your post as instructed and it only reinforced that you think these concepts are synonymous. (I ignored all the MSNBC/FOX interchangeability stuff)

Seems the phrase “climate change” is not understood and that (for you and several other posters here) a re-packaging would actually help.

I am a mathematician (not a climatologist) and have great respect and understanding for data scrubbing/noise elimination/Kalmann filtering/etc. It’s all about signal to noise ratio concepts – techniques that put men on the moon, keep satellites in orbit, optimize crop rotation, etc. etc.

      • Vicki

Ahttp://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2000/interplanetaryseasons/s long as the sun stays small and the earth stays tilted on its axis there will be winter/spring/summer/fall. Laws of physics. How warm and cold they are might change based on real factors such as solar constant (which isn’t), the amount of gaseous water in the atmosphere and the amount of dust (from volcanoes etc) in the atmosphere.

It might be too warm for humans but it is good for dragons. The seasons will remain.

jeez there were dinos in alberta canada. so bloody hot year round reptiles lived there 24 7. the place was covered with ice a mile thick after that and now it has warm summers and very cold winters. get your head out. keep our water clean and we will be ok.

        Prog. Nightmare..

Let me ask you…if the climate change proponents are correct…then we have to act to at least slow down the changes and disruptions so we can adapt and try to correct the ills causing it. And, in the process move forward in technological advances in both ebrgy and environmental protection.

OK…will you give that as a basis so far?

If the anti climate change folks are right…we need do nothing.

Now…what if the Climate change proponents are wrong? What harm has been done? We’ve moved forward technology wise and moved into 21st century energy advancement and gotten off the Middle East power over us.

And if we did nothing…what if the anti climate changers are wrong? What are the consequences?

        Think about that.

What if you are wrong and we did do nothing?

      • a progressive nightmare

You seem to “feel” that in some wierd way that you or I can change the climate of a planet. A planet that is in a continual process of change well beyond our human concepts.

Since you think that we humans are THAT powerful, then why did we not stop the eruption of Mt. St. Hellens? Why can’t we stop earthquakes? Why can we not stop a meteor the size of a state from stricking the planet?

Can you predict for us when the Pacific ring of fire may errupt? I would be REAL concerned about that possibility because it will in all probability be an ELE for we humans.

The cold hard facts of this nonsense of Global Disruption is political! Politically motivated JUNK SCIENCE. Nothing more, nothing less. We all clearly understand why you progressives need to have the masses believe this scam, so you can get yor GOLDEN COW cap and tax passed. In doing so, our freedoms, as we currently now them, will become an ELE.

Bottom line, I do not worry about Global Warming because there is no scientific way to prove or disprove YOUR progressive theory. It is the same thing as yelling on a busy street corner that “The Sky is Falling!!” If either of the two happens, it will be because the CREATOR allowed it to happen. I do not claim to be more powerful than the CREATOR of which BOTH my life and my FREEDOMS flow.

Let’s see if your progressive science can predict just how much the temp is going to increase over the next 10-20 years. After that, we can re-visit this subject and see how accurate you are. Of course, there are things called anomolies that may require decades, centuries or milleniums of data to make that scientific determination. But, you see, that scientif suggestion won’t work for your agenda because then you cannot claim that YOU saved the world by implemeting your cap and tax and GREEN power grab schemes.

In other words Flashman -Nightmare is saying ,No matter what the proof (and he will deny it anyway),he will put it off and see what happens. He will be the guy who watches the dam break to see if he will get wet!

        Eddie47d,

It come to mind that some 30 thousand scientists have debunked the climate warming alarmists.

      • a progressive nightmare

eddie47demond….Where is your proof? Send the data to me for analysis. I’ve spent a lifetime analyzing data and FACTS. I’ve actally lived on this planet for over a 1/2 century which is 0.000000011% time slice as it relates to the age of the planet. Do I see or feel a tempature change from 1 year aged to 50+ years aged? Nope, we have the same climate now that I experienced in the 60′s, as a Kid. We also had a 1/2 century ago massive flooding, hurricans, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, etc etc etc We also had 4 seasonal changes back then…SHAZAAM!!! Sounds just like current earth!

Now, wonder if I said YES to that question??? I wonder what the scientific reasoning would be behind that “Feeling” because the DATA says otherwise!

You you actually think people are this stupid???

        nightmare:

You asked flash why couldn’t we stop Mt. St. Helens? It reminded me. The left’s scare tactic at that time was: we have enough nukes to blow up the world! And we have to get rid of them or we will!

Shortly after Mt. St. Helens went up, someone calculated the power of that blast (which really isn’t that big of an explosion for volcanoes) as more than every nuke in the world combined into one blast.

It was on tv news. And, you know, I haven’t heard the lefties argue about too many nukes since.

      • eddie47d

Caliber; Most volcanos don’t target cities like nukes do.

      • JeffH

fast eddie, again your brilliance is just amazing!

      • Karolyn

Nightmare, as regards your assertion that nothing’s changed, I’ve been around at least as long as you; and the weather sure has changed in my view. I’m from NJ but moved to SC. This past summer was the warmest in the record books. As far as NJ, I’ve been gone from there for over 5 years, but from what I hear, there’ve been a lot of extremes, and that’s what’s being seen all around the world.

      • Claire

Karolyn–Where I live, we never had tornados. Now we are a part of tornado alley. I believe there is climate change.

      • a progressive nightmare

Karolyn, Exactly, thank you for making MY point. Planet earth is in a constant flux of CHANGE. No one day, week, month, year or decade will be the same. Datasets on climate readings are VERY limited as it relates to the age of the planet. For once in your life, try to apply a little reasoning to problem solving. You cannot accurately predict future weather patterns because you nor anyone else on this planet has enough experience or data to prove or disprove anything when it comes to this politcally motivated FAKE “Crisis”. In fact, NOBODY on this planet has any idea what events will take place tomorrow, much less 50-100 years from now.

The fact is, “THE DATA” actually reflects that the planet has gone through a cooling cycle over the past decade, as if that really means anything or has any REAL significance. Now, if you don’t believe that then provide me with YOUR data. I want to see it so I can analyze it for MYSELF.

I don’t need or trust ANY government scientist to give me the correct answer because once a scientist is PAID by the governemnt then their objectivity has been corrupted by “Political Motivations”. If you want to be a “Sheeple”, then be one but don’t parrot claims to others that you cannot prove-scientifically. We really don’t care how much warmer it “Feels” to you and that is about how accurate your claims are and the left’s claim on the subject at hand. ZERO!

      • Vicki

        Karolyn says:
“As far as NJ, I’ve been gone from there for over 5 years, but from what I hear, there’ve been a lot of extremes, and that’s what’s being seen all around the world.”

That would be a sign of the biblical apocalypse not global warming.

      • eddie47d

Oh please vickie! Now, you’re comment might be considered Fake Data.

      • vicki

eddie I don’t think that word (data) means what you think it means

I observed a comment and noted its similarity to a sign from the bible.
Since it was not data and is demostrably accurate it can not be fake.

      • RightOn

Yeah, Eddie- You are in my world now. Nukes. President Reagan made it his mission to run the Soviets into the ground with nuclear improvments and supplemental technology to fight and win against a once evenly matched opponent. MX, Trident D-5, and the threat of Star Wars technology pushed the already troubled SU to the brink of bankruptcy.

The SU and Star Wars was the key. We threatened with missile defense on the ground (which we have) and missile defense in space (which we also have, but not in the form of lasers or anti-missile missile platforms. Ground penetrating look-down satellites were the difference. The beginning of the end was when we mapped the underground tributaries of the Nile and the Aswan Dam and publicized the photos- from satellites.

The SU then knew it was over. We knew where their missiles were hidden-it was over. We didnt need to target cities to win. Our subs could hit their silos before the missile left them. This combined with their their waning influence in the nations of the Warsaw Pact was their defeat- without our firing a shot.

      • 45caliber

        Nightmare:

You are correct. Further, they worry about 1/2 degree difference but the difference between summer and winter is more like 50 degrees or more in some areas. And the only reason we have that difference is that the sun is perhaps five hundred miles closer to our hemisphere in the summer vs. the winter.

Just how much of a swirl in the surface of the sun would be required to make a 1/2 degree difference? And considering that the solar flares can come out as far as Mercury or further, I would think we could possibly see temperatures of far more.

      • a progressive nightmare

You got it! That is my point with all this Global Disaster JUNK Science. Fact is, NOBODY, I MEAN NOBODY on this planet has a CLUE what tomorrow will bring much less stating the planet’s temp will rise by 1/2 degree in 10, 20, 30 or 2,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years.

It’s JUNK! Cap & Tax scare tactics, global governance by the self-appointed gods of the planet (gore)…nothing more, nothing less.

FYI for the progressives: The aforstated number is 10 to the 21st power which is a SEXTILLION. Given that, I would give your global warming theories about a 1 in sextillion chance of being correct.

      • eddie47d

Whether it’s right or wrong, cap and trade is about responsible emission levels and how they affect human health. That is a concern for all.

      • HFlashman

Prog….what if you’re wrong? We know what happens if the climate changers are wrong…we don’t lose, we still gain. But what if you’re wrong?

BTW..I was in Portland when St Helens blew. I also grew up near a pulp mill town. Trust me….one year in Cosmopolis Washington I saw far more junk thrown in the air from one pulp mill than the eruption I saw with St. Helens.

      • a progressive nightmare

Flash and eddie, Cap and tax is nothing more than a progressive scheme for creating wealth for a select group of people and controlling the planet so those select group of people can fly over us and say ” Can you believe those dummies down there bought this crap!”. In other words, It’s just another all-encompassing marxist scheme of “Wealth-Redistribution”. It has NOTHING to do with our health and certainly has nothing to do with the health of our planet.

When your TOP Billionaire GUNS( Gore), live in Mansions with 12-15 HVAC units, own several homes all over the planet, fly all over the planet, are over-weight and spew hot air all day, HOW THE HECK DO YOU THINK ANYONE WITH AN IQ OVER 80 WOULD BELIEVE THEM???

Sell this JUNK to a bunch of sixth graders! Oh, I forgot, that is what Gore is doing! He is flying around the country meeting with our children telling them that their parents don’t have a CLUE about global warming. How convenient!

I’ll tell you what I told Flashman: Science is never “settled” as the Gore-types would have you believe. When a scientist starts taking sides on any empirical question, he ceases to be a scientist and becomes just another political zealot.

You may be ontopic but you’re offbase.

      • ontopic

By “emprical”, I was referring to effects – you seem to be using “settled” in the sense of “causes”.

It is “settled” that the earth revolves around the sun. Why it does so, in the context of all forces (grand unifying theory, etc.) is not settled.

Perhaps you aren’t pushing back on the “existence” of climate change but rather the “causes”?

Most posters here are pushing back on the “existence” and I maintain that will be settled in our lifetime.

      • a progressive nightmare

the concept of science and basic maths skills eludes you, doesn’t it?

      • Vigilant

        Ontopic:

You said “By “emprical” [sic], I was referring to effects – you seem to be using “settled” in the sense of “causes”.

“Most posters here are pushing back on the “existence” and I maintain that will be settled in our lifetime.”

Pushing back? Sorry, I have no ax to grind when it comes to this subject. Scientific theories have been continuously modified over the centuries and will continue to be so. The thrust of my comment was that no science is “settled,” regardless of whether we talk about effects OR causes.

No one has ever challenged the idea that world climate changes over geological time. That’s not a theory, that’s a fact. The fault with people like Gore, et. al, is that they fancy themselves as authoritative or compelling when they repeat sweeping generalities as if it were settled science when in fact it is not.

I would be as willing as the next guy to admit that mankind has a catastophic effect on climate change, if I could be shown compelling facts to support the claim. But, when the pseudoscientists at the UN and at East Anglia are shown to be the charlatans they are, I tend to discount ANY statements they make along those lines.

You may very well be proven right in your assertion that the science of causes will be settled during our lifetimes. But that assertion can only be proven or disproven when “scientists” move away from being political cheerleaders and once again become scientists.

      • JeffH

        Vigilant, very well said.

      • 45caliber

        ontopic:

A “theory” is an educated guess. Nothing more. That means it is not a law set down in granite.

As I mentioned above, the difference in temperature between summer and winter is 50 degrees or more. The ONLY difference is due to the tilt of the earth. In the summer the location is less than 500 miles closer to the sun than it is in the winter. (You said you could do the math – go ahead.)

To get a 1/2 degree change in temperature would mean that the surface of the sun would have to me only a couple of miles closer than it is before – and the surface of the sun constantly shifts. Solar flares can come hundred of thousand of miles closer to us, which also provides heat (and EMP).

So trying to insist that a 1/2 degree difference in temp is going to destroy the world is hogwash.

In fact, about 1896, Krackatoa blew up. The dust from this volcanic explosion lowered the world’s mean temperature by over 10 degrees for a number of years. Dust from that explosion is STILL in the atmosphere. If the change in temp was so critical, everything would be dead.

Sorry, you are listening to junk science from people who make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year off of “researching” it.

      • a progressive nightmare

Well said 45! Good to see another patriot with just plain ole common sense. These people spew this unfounded JUNK, that insults the adult mind, and don’t even have a clue their doing it. Pathetic!

I understood enough about the planet, the sun and the solar system in the eight grade with math skills to debunk this crap then. They act as if the audience on this blog is about 6-8 years aged and dumber than a box of rocks. Must be the global gore desease? No wonder his wife left him. He probably drove her nuts with this childish-foolish crap!

      • ontopic

@prog Scientific theories do indeed evolve/improve over time and are never “settled” in the sense you suggest (see wave/particle theory of light). And the word “theory” connotes much more than educated guess – it suggests a framework that can be rigorously/experimentally tested.

None of this seems new to you but you can’t be suggesting that it’s possible the sun revolves around the earth? That point has been settled.

When a scientific theory is modified/improved, it better explains all the related experiments/data that came previously – it doesn’t nullify them. The results of those experiments are settled only the causes are up for grabs.

Our ability to have this discussion, in this forum is built upon settled science (harnessing electricity/chemical properties/etc) – Are you implicitly suggesting this conversation is merely a mental construct and someone will come along later to explain what our exchanges really represent?

it’s being implemented through back-door tatics by the EPA. That’s another department that needs to go….dump it and start over with VERY stick guidelines of command and control by WE THE PEOPLE through our elected officials.

      • 45caliber

One of the biggest problems is that Congress no longer really makes laws. Take a look at Oblamacare, for instance. They don’t set any real regulations – some agency is to be set up to do that.

The EPA is the same. They say something in Congress such as “The EPA will establish chemical release values.”

Then the EPA sets and changes them as desired by whatever group convinces them is a good idea sans science. And if you complain to Congress, you are generally told, “well, we REALLY didn’t mean for them to do that” … but they never come back to change it.

      • alpha-lemming

Sorry to disagree but it IS a “right vs. left” thing. EVERYBODY knows the climate is in constant flux…. we’ve got records to prove it. It’s only the left that asserts 51%+ of the change is due to human activity/existence (a better descriptor would be the biosphere… aka ALL life of which human beings are a bit to mid-level player). I personally believe that humanity is responsible for some climate change…. to the tune of about 1 or 2%.

      • 45caliber

        alpha:

I think one of the main reasons the left and right disagree about “climate change” is because of our basic beliefs. Most Christians believe in God being the mightiest force in existence. Those who aren’t religious believe MAN is the mightiest force. (Why, I don’t know. There is bound to be other intelligent races in existence – but that’s for another blog.)

Christians are willing to admit that man really is insignificant. But those who believe in MAN are convinced that MAN causes all the changes in existence now.

We are willing to admit that man might cause 1% but really is insignificant to the Earth. They can’t imagine that we are. So, to them, it is simply a matter of their “religion” that climate changes and everything else bad is due to man.

When are the people of this nation going to stop the back-and-forth that keeps us apart, and begin to focus, together, on what REALLY matters: Keeping our country alive and well? What are the kinds of activiites that promote sustaining the natural resources, freedom, prosperity, and unbridled opportunity that made us a strong nation in the beginning? Which one of you knows George Bush, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi or Barrack Obama, OR knows what it takes to do any of their jobs? Or Sarah Palin, for that matter, although I see no evidence that SHE knows how to do ANY job.
