Obama's Glaring Omission

At the Congressional Hispanic Caucus meeting Sept. 15, President Barack Obama quoted from the Declaration of Independence during his speech.

In talking about what bound together the people from so many cultures and made them Americans, he said, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; endowed with certain unalienable rights: life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

What the Declaration actually says is: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness (capital letters in original manuscript, emphasis added).”

What he left out of the quote is significant for a couple of reasons. First, it demonstrates that Obama is probably not a Christian, White House protestations to the contrary. I realize that his mouthpieces have said he is, but a Christian is known by his works. And forsaking the assembly of the saints (Heb. 10:25) for more than two years is not the work of a Christian. It’s more than likely — based on Obama’s actions and what is known about his upbringing — that Obama is either an atheist or agnostic.

But being a Christian is not a prerequisite for holding the office of President, and Obama’s faith — or lack thereof — is his own business.

The second, and main reason, the omission is important is that it demonstrates Obama’s view of where our rights come from. Obama views the Constitution as a list of negative rights: That is, a list of things the government is not allowed to do. And he thinks that is a bad thing, as he has said on more than one occasion.

Obama believes that government is Supreme, and if he worships anything it is at the altar of Big Government.

If Obama were to acknowledge that our rights come from a Creator he would have to acknowledge that only the Creator can take those rights away. But if government grants those rights, as Obama believes, then government can take them away whenever and however it so desires.

    I like a growing number of Americans believe that Obummer is, and always has been a Muslim.Heres why.

    Under Muslim law the absolute worst crime that can be commited is to be a muslim and then convert to another faith. the punishment for this is death.there is no alternative. the law also says that it is the duty of all muslims to kill these converts.

    Not to long ago Obummer held a Ramadan dinner at the white house. there were a large number of Muslims in attendance. Is it not strange that these Muslims would have dinner with Obummer and not be bothered by it in any way.

    Also under Muslim law there is a provision called Taqiyya, that means that it is all right to disquise yourself as another religion if it will in some way advance Islam.

    I find this to be the only explanation that fits what is happening between Obummer and the Muslim world.

        Sorry, you aren’t thinking. You call someone something based upon his actions. If he acts like a Christian, you call him one. If he acts like a Muslim, you can call him that. If he acts like an atheist, then you can identify him as that too.

    Does President Obama write his own speeches? He is surrounded by others who do this work for him. This is probably more a matter of a speech writer leaving out part of the quote intentionally or not and Obama simply missing the omission. I am sure he has many important matters constantly on his mind and often trusts his speech writers not to make such glaring mistakes. I had a 200 page book of mainly grammatical errors by former President Bush. Were you holding him to the same standards you seem to be holding Obama to? As far as forsaking the gathering of the faithful, I find it rather questionable that when Jesus returns he is going to recognize the so-called faithful as such. I was unchurched for forty years but still read the Bible faithfully and considered myself a Christian. As I use to phrase it when talking to friends or relatives, I believed in God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and the Bible but I did not believe in church. I believe most churches have strayed so far from the original teachings of Jesus that he would not recognize them as being Christian if he came back today.

      John, maybe your mother went to church as your name is from the bible. Going to church no more makes you a christian then going to a garage makes you a car. You say you read the bible therefore you know this. Juses created his church and where two or more gather in his name so he shall be there also. Yes many churches get it wrong, maybe you could find one that gets it right, bible based and a place for sinners. Of course they are human lead and will make mistakes! That is why reading the bible with others helps us to understand things differently then just our own understanding. I hope you converse with others as two can defend from satan where one would fail.
      As for Obama, HE siad he is responsable for what he does therefore the errors or omissions are his fault, besides he reads them before he gives them.

      Bush made gramatical errors, not unlike what Oblama does when he works without a teleprompter. But he always tried to get his statements right. ALL who give speeches MUST go over the speech prior to giving it if they expect to give it correctly, regardless of who writes the speech. And all who give speeches correct things or change things in what they are given to make it more “their own words”.

      Oblama does too. Therefore whatever he says is HIS words even if he got them from someone else. Your entire argument just went down the drain.

      “The Creator” was a Deist term for God, and the Founders fully understood the meaning of it. That was why they particularly avoided terminolgy such as “The God of Abraham and Moses,” or any other such term that could tie God to a particular revealed religion.

      Muslims also believe in a Creator, so leaving the phrase out of the speech would irritate them as well, if we are to believe you.

        The Creator IS God, not some spirit or other thing. Some Deists today try to differentiate but at the time of the founding of our country there wasn’t that difference. GO back and read the papers they wrote from then instead of listening to some non-Christian now trying to stir up trouble.

        I suggest YOU go back and read (this time with understanding) what Jefferson and others of the Founders believed. As David Holmes writes:

        “That Jefferson attended and supported other churches does not make him a Baptist, Presbyterian, or evangelical Episcopalian, any more than his regular reading of the Bible makes him an orthodox Christian….He remained a Deist in rejecting the rituals and sacraments of institutional religion as the proper forum for worship.”

        If you want to call this a Christian country, I would not disagree with you, in the same sense that Turkey is a Muslim country. Like us, “Turkey is a democratic, secular, unitary, constitutional republic…” (Wikipedia). As we are referred to as a Christian country, so is Turkey referred to as a Muslim country. The term “Christian” is used to describe the religion of the majority, and does not make us a theocracy any more than Turkey is an Islamic Republic.

      If you choose to see all of the Presidents actions through Muslim biased glasses, then everything he does will offend Christians and favor Islam. Vigilant is right, this has nothing to do with appeasing the Muslim community. I has nothing to do with singling out Christians either. He just left out a phrase. No one seems upset that he left out “that among these are “. Isn’t there anyone who wants to be offended for the unspoken rights? No, we have all learned about the constitution and I suppose the other, un-noted rights go without saying. Not everything needs to be spelled out every time.

    Had enough folks, “We the People” are experiencing the dangers that our founding fathers repeatedly warned us of. Now is the time to react above and beyond the good intentions and aspirations of the Tea Party movement while personally getting involved in the saving of our country. To be shy and bashful is the same as telling the tyrannical despotic government “yes, I don’t mind being a slave”.

    You may think that Obama’s regime is a house of cards, but those cards are made of steel and bullets backed up by the military whenever called for. The military must decide to be on the side of the freedom, liberty loving patriotic citizens of this nation if we are to survive, if not we will end up a no holds barred anything goes third world dictatorship.

    The persecution of Christians in this nation has begun and will get worse..currently there are many attacks upon the Christian faith,some subtle,some blatant..most barely make the news or hardly register depite the seriousness of some of them because the media itself has become like their Soviet counter parts…a godless govt. controlled outlet of propaganda.The last thing they want to do is waken the sleeping giant of Christianity in this country.There are many examples..the tour guide at the Liberty Bell that mocked Christinity and the beliefs of the Founding Fathers in front of a group of tourists,the teen who was told he could not wear a rosary to school,the removal of the word Christmas and replaced by the word holiday,a school that banned the wearing of red and green during the Christmas season because it’s considered Chrismas colors,the removal of crosses from public areas,the removal of the 10 Commandments as well from courthouses,a monument in Washington that had the Latin words for praise God turned away from public view,threatening churches with prosecution if they openly condemn homosexuality ..these are just a few..not to mention the blatant mockerys that take place on comedy shows and sitcoms.Praypraypray the time is getting short.

      There are many,many points made by every response that are truly valid. We have not, however, found enough people in the Congress and/or Senate to do the things necessary to put this clown back on the streets of Chicago, where he came from and, surely, still belongs.
      to the point in one of the earlier responses regarding “separation of Church and State” not being in the constitution. Absolutely correct. I cannot fathom how in the hell the “learned” Justices/Judges, et al, were able to twist the First Amendment that reads, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free excercise thereof;….”, to mean anything other than it says. It simply means that the Congress cannot create a law or laws establishing an officially supported religion such as The Church of England, which is the official religion of that country. All the “Bovine Scatology” surrounding the display of mennorahs or crosses, or any symbol, is a violation of the separation of church and state is as rediculous as this Obama clown being out to be qualified to be President of the United States

    Obama (may peace be upon him) is not a good leader for America. Zimbabwe perhaps, but not America, and that’s putting it mildly. A truly good leader leads, always moving forward and always within the basic framework of the Constitution and properly using the law that springs from it as his guide. Obama (may peace be upon him) makes excuses and blames his predecessor for his own limitations. Surrounded by like-minded socialist thinking “czars” to do his bidding, he leads by dictate. He ensnares the gullible and naive with “free” (“won’t cost taxpayers anything”) entitlements, like Obamacare and the scheme offered to our state school systems called “Race to the Top”, and always with the strings of federal control and compliance attached, the price for the government’s largesse. A further unwanted intrusion into our lives!

    Using America’s economic downturn as his excuse, Obama (may peace be upon him) and his cohorts in Congress, have seized upon this as their opportunity to completely redefine our economic system by first exacerbating the country’s economic problem with the so called “stimulus” which in fact has proven to be a pay off to Democrat and union supporters and second by imposing schemes like health care, with cap and trade and VAT to follow, that will bankrupt an already weakened America.

    Our economic system was built on the concept of free-enterprise enshrined in the simple, yet effective concept of private property ownership.”It’s not fair” is the mantra of the Obama (may peace be upon him) governing philosophy and stands, therefore, as his unassailable belief that only through government can “fairness” be ensured. Frankly, that’s scary as hell because he uses the power of the Federal Government to intrude on almost every aspect of public life from forcibly requiring the manufacturing of cars the market doesn’t want, to determining what a persons health plan should look like. He has elevated government agencies to a level that allows them to directly intrude into our daily lives; his deficit spending has increased ten fold while he is actively weakening our military to confront our outside enemies, like Islam. Is he actually an Islamist? Only “if the winds of disccent blow in that direction” or something close to that.

    Here is a word to become familiar with: Dhimmitude. It is the Islamic word that describes the muslim system of controlling non-muslims through taxation in exchange for muslims tolerating the presence of non-believers. Obama can use Federal force to enforce the Obamacare law, Muslims and Amish exempted, to commence the stripping of our non-believers wealth through taxation. It has started. It’s time to get involved resist. Political correctness is killing us as is Obama.

    No one is judging the hussien obama, he is making it clear himself, by leaving God and Creator out of his teleprompter speeches, that he is not a Christian. Some of you need to pull your heads out of the rightousness of your own Bible and understand that he is saying it himself, in his words and his actions. Jesus himself, in anger, cleared the temple of the filth of money mongers.     I’m sorry but, Obama quoting the declaration and ohmitting “by their Creator” three words in a document that guides our daily lives and forms the basis of our government. He has lowered this country, has told the world we aren’t christian, gives muslims more face time, and has proven he misses the teachings of reverend Jerimia Wright. It’s time for change and I can smell November just around the corner; I’m voting to retire Steny Hoyer, Barbara Mikulshi and Benjamin Cardin, that’s if all are on the ballot, atleast I know Steny the RAT Hoyer is up for re-election.

READ the Constitution NOWHERE does it say anything about seperation of church and State and in fact church services used to be HELD where Congress meets

It takes a 2/3 vote IN BOTH HOUSES to impeach a president and I think there are going to be to many loyal democrats still there to GET a 2/3 vote.     Donald your understanding of the Separation of Church and State is not correct. Please study the constitution before espousing false ideas. Nothing restricts a citizen or public official from speaking their beliefs, or basing their governing on religious principles. The Separation of Church and State is simply a restriction of the Government endorsing one religion over another.
    Such as Islam over Christianity.

The point of contention is that he portrayed himself to be a Christian while campaigning for office and then once he was elected there seems to have been an about-face. I personally didn’t believe he was a Christian at all, especially after his pastor incident. No true Christian would have those attitudes towards others or preach hate to their fellow “christians??”; that whole congregation was cheering and agreeing with ever word he said and you know Obama was as well. No true Christian would attend a church like that for as long as Obama did if they didn’t agree with what was being “taught”!
      I personally don’t care what a persons faith is, it is a very personal decision and every person has the right to make their own. I do however disagree with lying about who and what you are to gain an office of power (isn’t that what Satan would do?).

    Christian or not, when a President supports government (taxpayer) money being spent on the building of Islamic places of worship, even when they are a slap in the face to the AMERICAN’s that died on 9-11 at the World Trade Center, and Personally calls a Pastor in Florida to stop him from burning a Koran, this is pro-islamic actions.
    Especially when he does not support the 10 commandments being displayed, prayer in schools, or the teaching of Christian principles in schools. Neither is there anything said when Muslims murder citizens of Somalia, or of their own country, or behead Americans, or just kill Christians.
    But offend a Muslim and all hell breaks loose. HYPOCRITE!

      hasn’t thought of it. I am appalled at all my friends who are so opposed to the mosque near ground zero. To show our tolerance, we should let them build. Then right across the street, someone should put a topless bar, called “You Mecca Me Hot”. Next to that should be a gay bar, “The Turban Cowboy”. And next door to the mosque should be a pork rib restaurant, maybe “Iraq o’ Ribs”? Then the Muslims could be allowed to show their tolerance. Problem solved.
      Pretty funny, but not really realistic! Good for a laugh though.
      We need to stop the building of this travesty from happening.

My quesstion is, HOW? I live in Georgia on a limited income. There’s no way I’d be able to come as part of a collective of millions of citizens marching on Ground Zero or Washington,but I’d do it in a heartbeat if I could. We all keep saying what needs to be done, but some leadership would be helpful. Ya’ll look up Newt Gingrich’s words on the Cordoba House Mosque. So absolutley on point.

    He has to be careful of what he says because of the “Separation of Church and State” thing. What he says in that context, doesn’t prove anmyting one way or another about his religious beliefs.

    As for re-taking the oath on a Koran, Why would he do that? Any politician would be safer not taking an oath before God or Allah or any other diety.

        Nobody ever said the doctrine of separation of church and state was in the constitution. It, as explained by Jefferson, the intent of the first amendment to build a wall separating the church from the gov and vis versa.

    Just who had declared any of you deciding whether Obama is christian or not. His faith or choices is his, it is his path to walk. From the comments and post on this site and others sure does not go along with the teachings of Jesus. I would rather stand or sit by the side of Jesus when he fed the hungry and loved everyone than to stand and judge whether Obama is christian. These claims of Obama not being a christian is radical, being radical sure does not make one right, I pray that each will search your own hearts and get back to the teachings of Jesus.

        The definition of Christian is one who believes Christ is the only way to Heaven. Obama has stated that he believes there are many paths to heaven. You decide.

        If YOU would bother to read the Bible, you would know how to properly discern good “fruit” from bad “fruit”.
        If you cannot discern this then you can easily be led astray. Your post tells anyone that is a Christian that has studied God’s Word, that either you are a baby in Christ (as you don’t know what you are talking about) or you are not a Christian.

        You will know them by their fruits, it’s in the Bible. Obama claims to be a Christian, but his deeds don’t live up to that claim. Also, some of the stuff he says, such as we all get to Heaven or nobody does, is total ignorance as to what the Bible says. We will each be judged individually.

        Think About,
        God gives Christians discernment to see that which is good and evil. And I am not talking about the folks who go to church twice a year on Easter and Chrismas. I’m talking about the faithful who pray daily and attend church to be with the Body of Christ and in the presence of God weekly.

        In Galatians 5: 22-23 it says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,self-control…”

        This is how I can tell if someone I am talking to or spending time with is Godly. When I am in the presence of many Christians (not all) I see many of these traits and feel encouraged and happy, but when I am in the presence of one who is lost and just plain evil I feel like a semi-trailor truck just ran over me … it is so dark being with them.

        I do not feel encourged, loved or happy when listening to obama. He lies to us. Only God really knows if he is a Christian, but the facts are against it. He attended Black liberation theology for 20 years (Godless Marxism), did not find a new church home near DC for two years now, is a practicing gay and frequented Man’s Country gay bath house in uptown Chicago and now three people appear to be dead (bodies are dropping, not a good sign), attended islamic mosque as a child, visits mosques abroad, but not churches, bows to kings as NO other president has (I will bow to King Jesus) and supports Ground Zero mosque while allowing dicrimination of Christians, hangs out with Radicals who believe in depopulation and Redistribution of Wealth and the UN and NWO which is evil…

        It is in our BEST interest to be governed by like minded people so that we know they will protect our Rights and the people from those that wish to harm us.

        Think About, I am just not finding any reasons to believe he has the Christian Values that Americans are looking for in a President of the United States of America, nor the dedication to a Founding Father’s Constitutional America full of Freedoms, Liberty and God given Rights that We the People want and need. In fact, he and his wife Hate America and wish to “fundamentally transform” it. Why?… it is already the BEST blueprint for a free country that has been tried and proven good. I believe as the Government leaders also believe that a president should be a church going Christian that is why they have gone to such great lengths to cover up his Rev. Wright experience and get him to a church last Sunday to “put on airs” that he is when many citizens think he is muslim.

      I believe that whether he is Christian/Muslim/agnostic/etc is of little importance where he is concerned and the discussion is simply a wag the dog, that keeps us from seeing his real intent-into which he gave a little insite recently when he talked about fixing the United Nations. He wants to rule the world and will bow to any one-Saudi Arabia included-that will help him achieve his goal and he cannot “rule the world” without the Muslims-who will turn their backs on him as soon as he is no longer useful to them or better yet use him in life and death to further Islam-after all that is the goal-kinda reminds me of the Borg in Star Trek. “YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED!” And I am not laughing…

      Think About…. Barry has managed to get elected and put in power of a very large powerful country, which makes everything he says and does the business of the voters. I did not vote for him, nor would I vote for anyone who has a Muslim background with my knowledge of how Muslims hate Christians. Our country was founded on Christian values. Of course we do not know his heart; only God does, but his words and actions do not give any indication that he is truly a Christian. Am I judging him? Not really. God gave us the ability to make decisions for our well-being, and he is not a good decision that was made by the voters. We are stuck with him, but still entitled to call it as we see it!

        If government tries to impose laws that are contrary to God’s Laws, then we have a right and a duty to refuse to obey them.

        Only our Constitution is Law in America. Anything else Congress passes is statute, and statutes are not to contradict or overreach Constitutional Law. Any such statute that is contrary to the Constitution is null and void, and if we choose to obey them anyway, then they will continue to become more intrusive and controlling, as they have. We’ve failed to keep them in check.

        Throw them all out.

      Think About – You are correct when you say it does not matter from a personal standpoint what his faith or religion is. However, the crucial point you are missing (and has been clarified several times by other readers) is that he does not believe that our rights come from God, he’s making that quite evident. That’s a big deal because that is the basis of which the Constitution and our Rights are founded.

      As for loving everyone. Do you know the bible or are you yet another Christian that likes to pick and bend verses or bits of verses that support your belief? Look, there is no doubt we are told to love our enemies but He also said (Matthew 10:34)..”Think not that I have come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” And the chapter goes on to say how He will set our very households against each other due to those that stand for His namesake.

      I’m not trying to get preachy but if you are going to speak biblically you should have a better understanding of it. There are many verses that support tolerance but tolerance in the sense to “witness” and teach them the correct way. There are also many verses of God commanding nations be utterly destroyed. How many times did He rebuke the pharisees in the New Testament? How about when he came to the temple (in John) on the Sabbath destroying their selling tables etc? Did that seem peaceful and loving to you? Look, I could go on but my point is this. Obama’s religion is his own affair. However he is in a position as “leader” of a country that is predominately Christian, founded on the principles (regarding our rights as a HUMAN race) of a Christian/Judeo God. You cannot believe in that and then turn around and say but we should love our enemies, so give us your socialistic agenda and we will conform because we are told we should love you. And in essence, that is what you are saying. If you understand socialism then you know it means they decide what is best for you and what you will do. So then if they decide (hypothetically speaking to convey a point) that you are now to become a Muslim, what say you then? Do you still love your enemy?

        To you the bible is full of contradictions because you don’t understand what you are reading and you are leaning unto your own understanding.

        There are no contradictions or errors in the bible. The errors come from misinterpretation. Preachers misinterpret the bible all the time. God says in His Word “Even the elite will be deceived.”

        If a church preaches that christmas and easter have everything to do with Jesus, that pastor has been deceived and does not understand the bible. If there is one thing I tell people it is this: Listen LESS to these preachers and listen to MORE to God. That is, if you want to know truth.

        When ten Christians in a room, I can pretty much guarantee you will get 10 different interpretations of the bible.

        As I read this (and it wasn’t easy) he is condemning those who would chose a “non christian leader”. My direct response was to point out that our founding father felt it important enough to put in writing that “no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”

        I see your point, and I might agree if I had been responding to the article, but under these circumstances if I am a “fool” for pointing out this fact, then I am in the good company of our founding fathers.

        The freedoms expressed in the Constitution are called civil liberties. Civil liberties are not granted by government to individuals. The Constitution assumes that all people automatically have these civil liberties (as our founders believed endowed to us by the Creator) which in essence restrains the government from using its power to abuse individuals. This creates a private realm of life, which government officials cannot infringe upon WITHOUT violating the Constitution. So within this domain of privacy, individuals have certain liberties of thought, belief, and action.

        I’m not sure of the point you are making Vigilant? The two are intertwined, I understand it as an entire system created by like-minded individuals with God as the common denominator. I apologize if my “ramblings” are too thought provoking for you.

It is true that you can practice your religion (worship, pray, etc.) as you wish to, but some things that Obama bin Laden has been doing are against our Christian founding. Don’t use that lib arguement that they were all deists and atheists, because we all know that’s a lie. The rights under the Constitution and in the Declaration of Independence are given to us by Almighty God and no other. Keep up the good fight, fellow patriot and I like reading your posts Strawberry Shortcake. They are full of common sense and reason. Two things that the libs on this site are greatly lacking.         True… there is (should be) no RELIGION litmus test for ascendancy to the office of POTUS. However, the one thing the founders were UNEQUIVOCAL on is that POTUS and “We the People” be persons of the HIGHEST moral character possible, because they knew without that bedrock, havoc and destruction would surely follow. We’re all sinners in one way or another, but that doesn’t preclude us from striving for perfection. Where does one go for an education in morals??

        No….. not the Communist Manifesto.
        No….. not the Black Liberation Theological Church of Ki’ Whitey.

        I’ll suggest the 10 Commandments and Judeo/Christian teachings would be a pretty good starting point. Unless, of course, government is your religion…. or you’re and atheist in which case YOU are the deciding arbitor of what’s right/wrong, good/evil, and just know that YOU are the most important thing in the universe.

        Whether or not you choose to believe in a Creator, those who do believe, believe that you were created by “God”. I, therefore would agree with Jefferson that we are all, except in the most unusual of cases born with a sense of Justice and Morality. We each make the choice to follow or deny our conscience in our daily life. Those who are religious have the support of their church, their shared beliefs and perhaps the guilt imposed by the church to aid them in these choices, but this does not preclude those who are not religious from following their conscience and being good, moral people.

        Oh my goodness I think I give up, lol. It is so difficult to have these kind of conversations through text in a way that makes people understand what you are trying to say.

        I’ll have to research the bit about any leader not having to be held to any religious test. I struggle with that “as is” because it would seem too difficult for the founding principles to co-exist with let’s say, a person of Muslim belief as leader of this country. They have to recite their oath with their hand resting on a Judeo/Christian bible. Would that then mean they could ask for the Quran to make the oath upon instead? Do you see what I am getting at? If this country was founded on a Judeo/Christian God that believes we have certain rights given to us just by being human, then how could a leader that practices a religion or belief that does not believe in those same ideals be trusted to uphold them?

        Article 6 of the Constitution

        “The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”

        It would seem that your conflict is based on the notion that the “creator” mentioned in our Constitution must be a Judeo-Christian God. Once you set this notion aside, then it is a simple matter to accept that an elected official simply must uphold the laws of our Republic. Whether or not our laws are based on J/C principles matters little as they are America’s laws and must be recognized.

        As to swearing in, neither Theodore Roosevelt nor John Quincy Adams swore their oath on a Bible. There is no requirement here, so choosing a Quran or, as was the case with Adams a book of law makes little difference. Your word is your bond.

        Consider also these quotes;
        ..(P)roscribing any citizen as unworthy the public confidence by laying upon him an incapacity of being called to offices of trust and emolument, unless he profess or renounce this or that religious opinion, is depriving him injuriously of those privileges and advantages to which, in common with his fellow citizens, he has a natural right.         Reading, reflection and time have convinced me that the interests of society require the observation of those moral precepts only in which all religions agree (for all forbid us to steal, murder, plunder, or bear false witness), and that we should not intermeddle with the particular dogmas in which all religions differ, and which are totally unconnected with morality (Jefferson, Letter to J. Fishback, 1809).

        In both of these (the first being the basis for the religious clause in the Constitution) nothing is said about an inherent conflict between our government and any religion. To the contrary, the first addresses the intolerance of any one religion attempting to enforce it’s dogma in our government, and the second speaks to the similarities between all religions. If neither the government or the candidate attempts to interpret our laws through their religion, then there will be no conflict.

    Another point this shows is that he is picking and choosing WHAT he wants to follow out of the Constitution.
    Obama seems to do that on a lot of things, this picking and choosing what rules to follow. He lives by his own rules but they go against rules of the United States that we have are to abide by, ie: The Constitution.

    It doesn’t really matter if this prez is a Christian, a Muslim, an agnostic or an atheist. What does matter is that he’s not good for America.
    Many things he says can be taken at least two ways. Based on what I’ve seen and heard so far, I’d say he’s a member of the First Church of the Political Semanticist.
    Mr. Obama hasn’t dared to claim that he has a “covenant” with the American people (Bubba Clinton pulled that half-assed stunt). Mr. Obama’s ego seems to be of paramount importance to him, and in some ways he makes Bubba Clinton seem tame in comparison.
    Mr. Obama is where he is to put himself first, and if anything positive gets done for America, it will be a fluke. I see no reason to look at him as a leader. If he was in the White House as long as FDR, he’ll still be a non-leader.
    Anybody can be a talking head or an empty suit, and Mr. Obama seems to prove that on a daily basis, even after almost two years.

Anyone that would go into a college and have them put black material over the picture of Christ that has a long standing in that hall, is not only screaming out his disdain for the Christian religion, but he is demonstrating his disdain for the Christian religion. His actions speak so much louder than the words of his staff in the White House. I don’t understand why he is ashamed of his Islamic belief so much that he has to hide it.

        This came in this morning in response to the WSJ article published yesterday on Obama dividing America on race. There is no need to make any other comment other than pass along this mind boggling information…all comments that follow are from this article:

        Andrew Breitbart is a media genius. He proved it originally with his brilliant handling of the ACORN ‘hooker’ scandal which he skillfully manipulated so that the corrupt media was forced, against its will, to broadcast corruption in one of Obama’s most powerful political support groups. But Breitbart’s handing of that affair is nothing compared to his brilliant manipulation of the Shirley Sherrod ‘white farmer’ scandal.
        It all began Monday, July 22, 2010. As the country watched in horror, Breitbart released a snippet of a tape on his “Big Government” site which showed an obscure black female official of the Dept. of Agriculture laughing to a roomful of NAACP members about how she’d discriminated against a destitute white farmer and refused to give him the financial aid he desperately needed.

        As she smirked to the room, she’d sent him instead to a white lawyer – ‘one of his own kind’ – for help. The black woman was Shirley Sherrod – and almost immediately she became the center of a firestorm of controversy which exploded throughout the country. Within a day of the release of that infamous tape, the head of the Dept. of Agriculture, spurred on by Obama, demanded – and received – Sherrod’s resignation. Breitbart had won.
        But then seemingly Breitbart’s actions began to explode in his face. As Sherrod screamed in protest, FOX News released the entire text of her speech last March to the NAACP. And there on tape Sherrod was shown supposedly repenting of her racism against a white farmer and instead championing his fight to win funds to keep his farm afloat. Within hours of that entire tape being revealed, the entire world turned against Andrew Breitbart. Conservatives throughout the country were enraged that he’d endangered their reputations by releasing a ‘doctored’ tape. Breitbart, they thundered, had dealt a fatal blow to the conservative media.

        I confess that I also was horrified at what I saw as the clumsiness and stupidity of Breitbart in ‘doctoring’ a tape to make a supposedly innocent woman look guilty. But now I discover I have been as guilty of haste to judgment of Breitbart as the Dept. of Agriculture was of Ms. Sherrod.
        Only now am I realizing the real purpose for Breitbart’s release of that tape snippet. It was to allow him to cunningly trick the media into exposing one of the most shocking examples of corruption in the federal government – a little known legal case called “Pigford v. Glickman.”

        “In 1997, 400 African-American farmers sued the United States Department of Agriculture, alleging that they had been unfairly denied USDA loans due to racial discrimination during the period 1983 to 1997.” The case was entitled “Pigford v. Glickman” and in 1999, the black farmers won their case. The government agreed to pay each of them as much as $50,000 to settle their claims.
        But then on February 23 of this year, something shocking happened in relation to that original judgment. In total silence, the USDA agreed to release more funds to “Pigford”.” The amount was a staggering $1.25 billion. This was because the original number of plaintiffs – 400 black farmers – had now swollen in a class action suit to include a total of 86,000 black farmers throughout America .
        There was only one teensy problem. The United States of America doesn’t have 86,000 black farmers. According to accurate and totally verified census data, the total number of black farmers throughout America is only 39,697.

        Oops.

        Well, gosh – how on earth did 39,697 explode into 86,000 claims? And how did $50,000 explode into $1.25 billion? Well, folks, you’ll just have to ask the woman who not only spearheaded this case because of her position in 1997 at the “Rural Development Leadership Network,” but whose family received the highest single payout (approximately $13 million) from that action – Shirley Sherrod.

        Oops again.
        Yes, folks. It appears that Ms. Sherrod had just unwittingly exposed herself as the perpetrator of one of the biggest fraud claims in the United States – a fraud enabled solely because she screamed racism at the government and cowed them into submission. And it gets even more interesting.

        Ms. Sherrod has also exposed the person who aided and abetted her in this race fraud. As it turns out, the original judgment of “Pigford v. Glickman” in 1999 only applied to a total of 16,000 black farmers. But in 2008, a junior Senator got a law passed to reopen the case and allow more black farmers to sue for funds. The Senator was Barack Obama.

        Because this law was passed in dead silence and because the woman responsible for spearheading it was an obscure USDA official, American taxpayers did not realize that they had just been forced in the midst of a worldwide depression to pay out more than $1.25 billion to settle a race claim.
        But Breitbart knew. And on Monday, July 22, 2010, he cleverly laid a trap which Sherrod – and Obama – stumbled headfirst into which has now resulted in the entire world discovering the existence of this corrupt financial judgment. Yes, folks – Breitbart is a genius.

        As for Ms. Sherrod? Well, she’s discovered too late that her cry of ‘racism’ to the media which was intended to throw the spotlight on Breitbart has instead thrown that spotlight on herself – and her corruption. Sherrod has vanished from public view. Her ‘pigs,’ it seems, have come home to roost.

        It is the article, “Why Obama Is Subject To Blackmails” and describes a gay bath house, Man’s Country, in uptown Chicago where BO and Rahm Emmanuel frequented. It also states BO was with the Choir Director of guess whose church… Rev. Wright, but that guy is deceased now as are two others. It goes on to name others he is and was with. I was pretty shocked to read it is “commonplace” among some elected officials to have this behavior.
        I would say that is not the kind of American leader we need.

        Note that it was not a portrait of Christ being covered. Sounds like the White house chose not to give the impression that they were representing any one religion, but it does seem like it would have been easier to pick a different location. I don’t see this as a sign of the anti Christ or anything like that, but if that’s the direction your minds are headed, so be it.

        I do not see obama being the anti-Christ. As I understand it the anti-Christ must be acceptable by both the Jews and Arabs (muslims) as well as the rest of the world.
