The War at Home

August 20, 2010 by

The War at Home

In researching another topic, I stumbled across a column I wrote three years ago.

That was back in the days before Personal Liberty Alerts started sending my musings to more than 500,000 people every week. No, in the fall of 2007 I had just 1,000 or 2,000 readers, most of them were probably named Wood.

So the column below didn’t reach very many people. If it’s okay with you, I’d like to run it again. Because the message it contains is quite literally a matter of life and death for every one of us. See if you don’t agree. Here it is.

Like me, you were no doubt sickened by the news from Newark, New Jersey that three young college students, Terrance Aeriel, Dashon Harvey and Iofemi Hightower, were ruthlessly murdered at a school playground. Each was forced to kneel on the ground and then shot, execution-style, with a bullet to the brain.

What you may not have heard is that the person accused of the crime, a 28-year-old thug named Jose Lachira Carranza, was in this country illegally — and the authorities knew it. His alleged colleague in this heinous crime is also an illegal alien.

Moreover, this was not Carranza’s first or only vicious assault. He had been arrested just one month earlier and charged with repeatedly raping a 5-year-old girl and threatening to kill her family if anyone called the police. A year earlier he was charged with assaulting patrons at a bar.

One of the better commentaries I’ve read on this topic is by former House Speaker (and soon to be presidential candidate?) Newt Gingrich. In his weekly column, he wrote, “There is a war here at home and it is even more deadly than the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Far more Americans are being killed by violent, evil people here in America than in our official military ‘combat zones’ overseas.

“The truth is, all too many Americans are being killed. But what is so completely senseless is having the lives of three young, achieving college students cut brutally short by someone who not only should not have been in the United States in the first place but also, after two previous arrests for violence, should not have been on the streets. Instead, the suspected killer should have been in jail awaiting trial, sentencing, prison and eventual deportation.”

And then Gingrich reminds us of a story I’d almost forgotten:

“New Jersey was already in the news for its failure to protect its citizens from illegal aliens when the federal government arrested six would-be terrorists for plotting to kill U.S. soldiers at Fort Dix. We soon learned that three of them had been illegally in the U.S. for 23 years, during which they had been charged by the New Jersey police more than 75 times. And still, our government never discovered they were here illegally.”

The former congressman then points his finger at the real culprit:

”…the government of the United States is not protecting the people of America.”

He continues:

“The federal government’s incompetence, timidity and uncoordinated efforts to identify and deport criminal illegal aliens have had devastating consequences for innocent Americans.”

Rather than just rail against injustice, though, Gingrich proposed a solution to this tragic situation. He called for new legislation, named after the three murder victims in Newark. “The Terrance Aeriel, Dashon Harvey, Iofemi Hightower Act” would do five things:

  1. It would demand that the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security develop a real-time identification system to check the legal status of every felon in America.

  2. Every person arrested for a felony will be checked against the Federal database. Unless there is positive evidence they are American citizens or are here legally, they will be detained. If they are here illegally they will be deported. (This sounds remarkably like what the citizens of Arizona asked their police to do, doesn’t it? We know how Washington reacted to that.)

  3. And here’s one I love: Any city, county or state that refuses to participate in checking every felony arrest will immediately lose all of its Federal aid. (Hey, San Francisco, that would mean losing a bunch of taxpayer money, wouldn’t it?)

  4. No illegal alien will be released back into the population at large to prey upon new victims. After they finish the time for their crime, they will be detained until they can be deported. (A question from Chip: Why feed and house them at our expense? Let’s send them back where they came from immediately.)

  5. All current prisons in the U.S. will be screened to identify those who are here illegally. The illegal alien prisoners will be deported to their countries of origin once they’ve completed their sentences. (I repeat the question I asked above: Why keep ‘em here at all? Let’s send them back just as soon as the courts say we can.)

  6. I’ve argued in the past that it’s usually a mistake to ask the Federal government to solve a problem. In my experience, every time they try they create new problems that are bigger and more costly than the one they promised to eliminate. In the process, the budget gets bigger and the bureaucracy gets more bloated. A good rule of thumb is, Don’t feed the monster.

But this is an approach I can endorse. After all, what is government’s first and most sacred obligation? Isn’t it to protect its own citizens from assault; to guard against attacks on our persons or threats to our property by “all enemies, foreign and domestic?”

No, we can’t prevent every crime by every illegal alien. But we can make certain that, once caught, he never gets a chance to prey on an innocent victim again… at least, not in this country.

I’ll let you know when (or if) the Aeriel-Harvey-Hightower Act gets introduced in Congress. And what happens when it does.

Back To The Present
Of course the legislation Gingrich proposed has never seen the light of day in Congress. Instead, all of the publicity recently has been about Barack Obama’s determination to stop Arizona from doing precisely what the former Speaker demanded our Federal government do to protect all of us.

At the end of his column three years ago, Gingrich wrote, “We should demand more of our leaders — or we should get new leaders.”

That’s still a good idea — even though I suspect he is one of the “new leaders” he’s talking about.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

Chip, do you think the Democrats affection for illegal immigrants would change if suddenly we all had to show a valid I.D. in order to vote???….I think this could be a game changer but I don’t understand why the Republicians or anyone else for that matter ever try to pass a bill to require this….

    • tg7357

I don’t know why either!! I have to show my ID to tag my car, open a bank account, or to buy real estate, but I don’t have to give anyone an ID to vote??? Of course, that makes voter fraud so much easier for both parties. Remember the 2008 voter solgan “Vote Early and Often!!”

      • http://?? Joe H.

        tg7357,
wrong! Here in Eastlake Ohio, Ward 1, I have to show my licence each time I vote. I’ve had to show it for the last 19 years!!! I always thank the ladies that check, too!! I gladly show it for that the same as I do for my checking. In both cases it enables me to know nobody else is using either!!! I have written on all of my credit cards “ask for ID” instead of signing. nobody has ever given me a problem about it either!!

  • atlas reborn

I have a great idea, when we find an illegal allien who commited a crime we take them to court when found guilty we send them to north korea, china , or iran to put in prision at a cost to us not in excess of the cost of our lowest cost jails in america. we would have to have a treaty with them to do this. but I am the message to illegal alliens get to them quickly and a lot of the problems would go away.

    • Bob

Our court system is corrupt. Our prisons are privatized. Judges get bonuses for sending people to jail.

  • http://www.haringenterprises.com BSHARING

This is not only about illegal aliens who commit crimes, but our court & legal system, which sucks!!!

  • Ruby

I don’t care about your politcal persuasion, do you not care that illegal aliens in OUR country are committing violent crimes against US? Does that matter to all you partisan idiots? Yet, you’re the first to cry, “partisan politics”…get over yourselves. These are crimes against US…not just Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians!!!! We’re ALL being perpetrated upon. Geeeeeeezzzzzzzz

  • Norm

There is a sure fire way to get rid of Illegals.
1- Levi a 5,000 fine for 1st offence foa any person hiring an illegal
2nd offence one year in jail.3rd offence 5 years in jail.
2- Also fine any landlord the same ammount with the same punishment for additional offences.
3- Stop the auto citizen for their babies born in the US.
We would not have to deport any of them.If they couldn’t work or have a place to live ;They would go back themselves even if they had to walk.
Obama and his minions want amnesty and a path to citizenship. Why?That’s easy. They could over time get 20 million new votes thereby ending all opposition.Anyone who thinks they love the illegals should be checked by a shrink.
Dump all democrats and RINOS’Free our country.

    • tg7357

I think cities should require ID and proof of citizenship before allowing people to be able to turn on utilities like water, sewer, etc.
If illegals can’t get water, I doubt they will stay around long.

      • meteorlady

Some cities have done just that and have lost in court. The city of Grapevine, TX passed a law that fined landlord who knowingly rented to illegals. It was over turned in court.

Our government does not have our citizen’s best interests at heart – they have their own best interests and that of business. An over abundance of labor causes the wage scale to drop and thus businesses make more money.

We should publish the names and addresses of businesses the knowingly hire illegals. I know a couple – Tyson Chicken plant in Arkansas for one.

      • Carol

You wanna bet? You should have seen the home an illegal family was evicted from. They didn’t have water. The whole place had to be gutted and one floor had to be replaced. It had 4 inches of feces(both human and dog) on it. The owner had to hook up to my outside water faucet and hose it down just to be able to work in the house.

    • Bob

Millions of them are living off the taxpayers. We have to end welfare. If people don’t want to work let their families take care of them. Why should the taxpayers pay for people to sit on their butt all day and make babies.

    • TIME

      NORM,
Hello, Thank God I knew you just pulling our collective legs.

      • JeffH

Time, this just can’t be ab-Norm’s post, must be a different one. If it is then we do agree on some things after all.

      • Claire

JefH–Possibly someone using his name? It has happened before.

      • TIME

        Ckaire & Jeff,
Your both more than likly right, someone sniped me a while back. Oh well there is always HOPE! Have a good weekend both of you. I have to take off again for a week, I hope to be back by September 1st.
If not your both in charge.. LOL ;-)

      • JeffH

Claire and TIME, remember some posts awhile back by simeone named “eyeswideopen” that were a complete opposite of what we would normally read? It’s happened to me and I can remember the same happened to TIME before. You end up reading the comments a couple of times then realize it’s just someone else.

    • meteorlady

Not necessarily true. There’s a little thing called Identity Theft at which they are most adept.

    • hflashman

I would agree with #1 if you changed the fine to 30 days in the hossgow. A fine is nothing…do the math and the monies gained from evading taxes and profits from lower basis in cost of production …and a fine makes hiring undocumented workers just a cost of doing business…and profitable

Toss ‘em in jail for 30 days and et the spouse explain where they went. Bet they won’t risk another 30 day vacation.

Anyone remember when as a youth they worked the fileds or mowed lawns or delivered papers/ Why don’t we start tossing in jail the employers?

no jobs, no reason to be here. Problem solved quick fast and easy.

  • tg7357

Newt Gingrich is a member of the Old Guard with dirty hands, an overflowing pocketful of taxpayer money and corporate pay-offs, and tainted with too many skeletons in his own closet. We’ve got enough riff-raff in Washington in elected office as it is. No thanks!!

    • http://google Leonard W. Giddens Jr.

ALL THAT SHINES IS NOT Gold MY FRIEND. When you hire a lawyer, do you ask about his back ground? No you don’t. If he is the sleaziest of all, and he can get the job done, you don’t care. You tell him what you want done and he does it. That’s all that matters. I am skeptical of those that toot thier own horn too much.

      • JeffH

Leonard, when you vote do you ask about a candidates back ground or do you just blindly vote? Look where we are at at now in this stage of our history. It is more important than ever to research every inch of a candidate, you’re more likely to make a better choice that way wouldn’t you think?

  • AZ Jack

Why are all conservatives so enamored of Newt Gingrich. I do not believe he has our best interests at heart. He is never asked about his membership in the Council on Foreign Relations, an organization that is dedicated to a one-world government. Someone heeds to ask him this question. I have emailed him twice and the only answer I received is that he is too busy to answer my email.

    • JeffH

AZ Jack, good post. The CFR is the link to the Trilateral commission, the UN, the World Bank and has had more of it’s members appointed to work for presdents than any other organization. You can bet that the House of Rothschilds could be linked as the headstone of the CFR. Just like President George W. Bush’s cabinet, Barack Obama’s cabinet is brimming with politicians affiliated with the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderberg group.

Of Barack Obama’s 14 top cabinet selections, 9 of them are affiliated with the Bilderberg group, 10 of them are affiliated with the Council on Foreign Relations and 5 of them are affiliated with the Trilateral Commission.

Obama has filled his cabinet with extremists who are members of organizations that are openly hostile to America remaining a free market society and a sovereign country.

      • meteorlady

That should tell us how they get money for their election campaigns and who they owe once in power.

      • JeffH

meteorlady, the CFR has been involved in running American politics since its inception. The CFR shadow government is a major threat to American sovereignty. The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) was established in 1921. Colonel Edward M. House, who was a close advisor of then-President Woodrow Wilson, was very influential in the establishment of the CFR.

Bob,I have been following, paying close attention to illegal immigration since the carter/democratic party and their blanket amnesty proposal. They of course opened the flood gates and did so with malice and forethought.I’ve read governments estimates of 11 million illegals in the U.S. I’d estimate 25 to 35 million conservitively. We are faced now with a new threat beng the invasion, infiltration, of the U.S. of the U.S by saudi arabian muslims and wahavee? style islam. Small numbers of muslims are purchasing land to build mosks(I know)Funded by saudi arabia where 15 of the 9/11/01 hijackers came from. Our democratic party I suspect has given them the go ahead and aid and abet this radical islam. The voices of americans infected by this virus will not be heard by the government. The democratic party has sold america to radical islam.

    • tg7357

i agree with your post excpet on one issue: it wasn’t just the democrats who sold us out to the Saudis. There are dirty republican and independents who helped that with all their hearts and with their pocketbooks open for the payoffs. The new mantra of the November elections should be : There Are No CLean Hands In Washington.

  • http://yahoo.com L.M.Howell

They have nothing in the white house but a bunch of ignoraqnt jerks. The Democrats want all the illegal aliens here to con them in to voting for them. They are more than likely paid well to vote for their party. All of the illegals should be sent back to where they came from. I pray they will be voted out come November.

    • Bob

We’ve had an illegal problem since WW2

      • http://www.SaveLakeAtitlan.org Duende

      • Al Sieber

I think it was the Vikings before Columbus, or maybe the Phoenicans when they mined copper near the Great Lakes.

      • http://www.SaveLakeAtitlan.org Duende

But they didn’t takeover the neighborhood and leave their crap for others to cleanup.

      • Al Sieber

Duende, you’re right, I have to agree with you there.

    • meteorlady

the current people in power are not stupid – to say that underestimates their cunning. They are just criminals, tax dodgers and lead around by special interests.

      • http://www.SaveLakeAtitlan.org Duende

Thank you meteorlady. When ever I’ve heard any one say “Stupid politicians” I just wince. It gives the speaker a sense of superiority when in reality they are just pawns and suckers. This goes for either . I’ve always maintained that one shouldn’t blame on stupidity what can easily be traced to conspiracy (or compliance to conspiracy).

  • JoMama

    One more thing:

Thse guys would – not for a minute – stand for ANY of this BS from the illegal aliens, Muslims or Barack Obama!!

    • Bob

What did Newt do about illegals when he was speaker?

  • JoMama

I really like the way Newt G. says it like it SHOULD BE!!

Anyways – that is the way it should be (the are laws – STILL).

NEWT/MITT/JAN BREWER/BOEHNER (either one) FOR PRESIDENT IN 2012!!!

    • JeffH

NEWT/MITT/JAN BREWER/BOEHNER or any combination would be a terrible choice. In my opinion Newt better serves this country where he’s at, Romney and Boehner are political business as usual and despite the Arizona law, Brewer doesn’t have the wherewithal t lead this nation.
I’d like to see Paul Ryan and Ron Paul at the top of the list.

      • meteorlady

I think we should start a national write-in campaign for Ron Paul and the likes.

      • JeffH

I just wish that Gov. Chris Christie would consider a run in 2012. I just don’t think he is interested though. He’s too dedicated to fixing NJ, his home state.

    • Bob

A Newt is a lizard. Aptly named

  • WakeupUS

The reason he didn’t want to deport them immediately back to their own country is because he knows that our government would do nothing to prevent them from hopping back across our borders. Until the border is secure we can’t release these criminals to their homelands because their governments don’t want them there and will do anything to allow them to break back into our country. Our leaders need to get their heads out of the ivory tower and out of their beeeeps and live in the real world with the rest of us. As it says in the Constitution it is their primary duty to defend us from external and internal threat and if they are not doing that then they need to be FIRED (impeached/not voted in next time)!!! Take the trash out America, kick um to the curb!

  • http://www.dondehaven.com Don DeHAven

I have to say that it is clear by now that not the Republican Party or the Democrat Party past or present have been willing to secure the borders or for that fact operate within the U S Constitution. Do any politicians from these two parties even respect the Constitution? They certainly have not kept their oaths of office. These two parties dog and pony show has been in the spotlight for decades and their failures are plain to see. These parties are so far from reality with all their failed promises to adhere to the u S Constitution that I have to ask how can sane and intelligent people continue to support these lies? It would be laughable if not for the fact that it is so destructive to this republic.

The real fact of the matter is that states must now clearly and with all purpose take back their sovereignty and protect their own citizens. That is exactly what I am willing to do as Governor of Pennsylvania if elected in November. If Governors do not take an all out do or die approach to reclaim their individual state sovereignty and do so now, then there is no hope left for this republic. We are collapsing under the weight of federal government failures. It’s now up to the states.

    • tg7357

Good luck with that! Go ask Arizona how much luck they are having fighting the Feds over amendments to their own state constitutions.Go ask Oklahoma, after the feds gutted HB1804. Did you know Eric Holder has threatened Oklahoma because they want to make English the official state language and are putting it on the November ballot? If they put it to a vote, the DOJ is going to sue them. So what we have here is 50 states (not counting the states already lost to rabid liberals) trying to defend their citizens against a federal government that wants to be part of the New World Order.

    • Bob

You are almost right. Back in 1954 Eisenhower started operation wetback to remove over a million illegals from the US. They flew them to southern Mexico so they would have a hard time getting back to the border. Google Operation Wetback and read for yourself.

      • meteorlady

Actually Ike deported 8 million in two years. Nice work – seems our current crop of legislators don’t have the balls to protect citizens of this country so they pander to illegals and the Mexican vote.

  • Ron

I agree with you except for – (A question from Chip: Why feed and house them at our expense? Let’s send them back where they came from immediately.)
Sendin them right back – will just result in them comming back illegally again within days. Lets bring back hard times in prisons.
Why should any felon. legal or illegal, be living at the taxpayers expense. It’s time to make them work to pay for the facilities and guards that are needed to seperate them from the rest of society. Once their time is done – then deport them.

    • Bob

Put them on chaingangs and let them keep our streets and highways clean.

      • JeffH

I recommend putting the whole prison system under the control of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Imagine a prison system where the prisoners are actually contributing to their incarceration and the illegals are really deported after serving their sentance.

    • meteorlady

As one that worked at Immigration I can tell you that they are usually back faster than the buses are that took them to the border.

  • Diane

The LAST thing this country needs is reprehensible old Alvin Toffler disciple, Newt Gingrich, or as Chuck Baldwin refers to him, “The Grinch Who Stole Conservatism:” http://chuckbaldwinlive.com/home/?p=1997

    • http://www.SaveLakeAtitlan.org Duende

Thanks for the link Diane. It was quite refreshing to read Baldwins take on the Grinch. As a Progressive I could smell the stench behind Gingrich’s positioning himself as a populous figure when the conservatives were flocking to him (just like all the conservatives could smell Obama’s stench as the liberals flocked to him). I really appreciated Baldwin’s bringing to light Rear Admiral Chester Ward, who withdrew from the CFR after realizing their true agenda. I’m sure the Admiral would appreciate one of my heros, Marine General Smedley Butler, who wrote War is a Racket ( http://www.ratical.org/ratville/CAH/warisaracket.html#c1 ). It’s a great read and shed’s light on the workings of the power elite in the 30′s who are much more sophisticated in subterfuge today. I really advise anyone who thinks the US participates in “noble” military actions to read him. It may keep them from allowing their children to go die for some financial predator who wraps their agendas in the flag.

      • Diane

Yes, Duende, Smedley Butler was a truly great man. Wish we had more like him. Another great from that bygone era was Representative Louis T. McFadden http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=16862 What amazing courage!

      • eddie47d

Diane; Interesting article on the Federal Reserve Boardby Louis McFadden. “Substance and shadows” was a becoming phrase he used. We have all become those shadows.

      • http://gunner689 gunner689

Let’s not forget Senator Joe McCarthy. Regardless of the press attacks against him, he was right. The gvt. was and still is full of communist sympathizers

      • Diane

gunner689, Eustace Mullins did research for Joe McCarthy, and stated (in the 2003 Rense article by James Dyer titled, “An Afternoon With Eustace Mullins”), “I [Eustace Mullins] introduced him [Joe McCarthy] to the real origins of Communism, which was the international bankers.” Mr. Mullins also stated, “Joe is still potrayed in the press daily as a monster that goaded people to their deaths, and they’ve never produced one person that he made a false accusation against.”

Mr. Mullins passed away earlier this year. Pat Shannan wrote in his American Free Press article, “Legendary Populist Historian Eustace Mullins Dies:” “Considered by many to be the greatest political historian of the 20th century, Mullins’s meticulous research uncovered far more political secrets of government shenanigans than anyone else dared to touch.”

      • http://www.SaveLakeAtitlan.org Duende

        Hey Gunner
Communist sympathizers don’t worry me.. banker sympathizers do.. or those who are just ignorant of them (the majority). I think what’s interesting is that many are saying the bankers are the biggest supporters of the communists. That would make me wonder why would wealthy predators who want it all embrace a philosophy that says the wealth should be shared. Any body wonder why ? CONTROL.. if they can control this movement then it will be no threat to them.. They’ve accomplished this. They backed the worse of the worse in the Soviet Union and from that grew a “Communism” that would be repulsive to all. and to top it off they’ve made zillions from the cold war and all the little hot spot militaary actions created from this mock battle with the “Enemy of Freedom”. They’ve gotten it to s point that when many well intentioned people hear the words “re-distribution of Wealth” they freak out and start screaming “COMMUNIST” at who ever suggests the wealthy be taxed higher. Yup mission accomplished.. lambs all in their pens. And now we’ve got the newsest diversion. TERRORISM… Yup…The sheeple are ready for fleecing :-)

      • Diane

Duende, here are some interesting excerpts from an article from good ol’ “Personal Liberty Digest” (The Federal Reserve Conspiracy by Antony C. Sutton):

“He [Antony C. Sutton] also unearths a little-known document written by Clifford Roosevelt, a cousin to Franklin Delano Roosevelt, which was a forerunner to Roosevelt’s new deal. That manifesto, The Science of Government, Founded on Natural Law, written in 1841, proposed a totalitarian government without individual rights and run by an elitist establishment. The book has been removed from the Library of Congress catalog and only two editions are known to exist.

Clifford Roosevelt was, of course, one of the elites, hailing from a long line of bankers and legislators. In addition to FDR, Clifford’s relatives included Theodore Roosevelt, John Quincy Adams and Van Buren. So it’s not surprising he would advocate a totalitarian government run by an elitist aristocracy.

Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto, written seven years later, contained many of the same themes as The Science of Government. Coincidentally, while writing his manifesto Marx was funded by a cabal of German and American bankers, and it espoused a 10-point plan to bring about the destruction of the middle class and establish control in the hands of the elite. Point No. 5 was the establishment of a central bank.”

        http://www.personalliberty.com/suggested-reading/the-federal-reserve-conspiracy-by-antony-c-sutton/

      • http://www.SaveLakeAtitlan.org Duende

Thanks for the link Diane. i just downloaded the whole The Federal Reserve Conspiracy off the internet. It seems like the elitists have all the bases covered. Control through communism or control through capitalism. Or at a political level Democrat or Republican. They’ve also seemed to do a pretty good job of controlling the Christian Churches on a whole as well. There’ all tax exempt lap dogs with too many willing to bless our wars as being approved by god. It seems to me the only way out if for each individual create the type of society they want and grow their own vegetables.

        Duende

      • Diane

Duende, it absolutely sickens me how the government tries to “control” the churches; this news clip about “clergy response teams” from a few years back is blood-curdling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRIDNQNsUss

Tom Mullen brings up some important issues in his Thursday, December 10, 2009, article on his blog, “The U.S. Constitution: The 18th Century Patriot Act,” where he writes, “The U.S. Constitution does not embody the American spirit. It is a document that grants power to government. The document that truly embodies the American spirit is the Declaration of Independence, which was written expressly to remove all power from the existing government. If Americans are truly interested in reclaiming their liberty, they should look to this revolutionary document as the source of their inspiration. After such a long train of abuses, it is past time that we instituted new guards for our future security.”

It seems we should scrap the treasonous U.S. Constitution and bring back the Articles of Confederation (at least). I love your comment, “It seems to me the only way out if for each individual create the type of society they want and grow their own vegetables.”

We know that the further away power is from the people, the more likely it is to be corrupt! Not only that, but like you implied, not only government, but food itself, is better when it is local!

I have to disagree on 1 point only..While in pricipal I agree that it makes no fiscal sense to keep them in our prison system, sending them back to a country to run free, likely right back across the border, makes little sense either.

This can of worms that is called the Federal Government has to be opened from the inside out. Its going to take citizens of states with a constitutional amendment (There are 19 of them, and the District of Columbia)that allows federal level senators and congressmen to be recalled between elections for cause. So far, from what the iternet says, its never been done by anyone. Well, this is the time for ‘hope and change’ and the impossible should be possible now. Once the citizens of a state succeeds in recalling a sitting federal politican, all h#ll is going to break loose and you’ll see a scramble for these useless poltical hacks to cover their butts. But until the ‘entitled’ politicians start gettng thrown out of their cushy jobs, nothing is going to change in the country. If it doesn’t happen in Novemenber, then America need to go to Plan B and start the recalls.

Politicians like Gengrich talk a good game after not performing while they had the opportunity. If he had truly wanted to address the open borders he would have done what (as the Dumocrats have) pushed harder.

Gengrich talks out both sides of his mouth(typical career politician) as he did with Sotomayer-first he was against her then he was for her.

When ask to serve Obama by teaming up with Sharpton to enable the National Education Association to push their radical agenda on our children Newt stepped right up and said yes sir.

We need people in Congress who are of high moral character and will honor their oath to uphold the Constitution. Right now we have no one that has no already sold their souls just to be elected.

I was never involved in politics(other than voting) until Obama was elected (I did not vote for him) but I am now. Hope to get conservative candidates in. I am working to vet candidates by checking their backgrounds and voting records. We have to get the Democrats and Rinos out of office they have stolen our children and grandchildren’s futures.

More blathering from the GOP to throw red meat to their lapdogs. I note the rush by the GOP to intrduce any legislation on Immigration Reform. I note the lack of the calls by any side as to punishing the real criminals and tax evaders…those illegally employing undocumented workers. And I not espcially the lack of any call by those posting here to punish those true crimnals costing us jobs and taxes…again, those that illegally emloy undocumented workers.

I doubt one will read two posts here today calling for the real criminals to be brought to justice and social stigma. Yet y’all scream about Americans losing jobs and taxes being too high.

Think about that…don’t wait for your GOP robot controllers to tell you what to think… It will be difficult to most here, but give it a try.

    • Lubo

      Ole flashman again… the uber-progressive…..

Flash my man, once again you spout the same ole divisive foolishness. I thought that was your complaint about we conservatives. I would suggest that you practice what you preach, if you want to make any “Progress”.

The fact is, you only speak of one side of the coin when it comes to this ILLEGAL INVASION of our country. Yes, we agree on something, we should go after those who employ illegals, including our representatives in Washington, who employ those illegals.

So let’s get busy with a solution by first building the FENCE and then documented those who have ILLEGALLY entered OUR coountry. Once we have documented those folks, and since they broke in line, then they should be sent to the back of the line, and then and only then should they have a PATH to CITIZENSHIP.

So yep, your are correct, let’s get these criminals rounded up on both sides of the coin and then and only then will the problem be solved.

So before you fire back with your typical progressive hate slurs, etc, I DO BELIEVE IN LEGAL IMMIGRATION to our GREAT NATION. That is what made it GREAT so can it before you say it. Now, those who want to come here, GREAT, learn the language and pledge your allegiance to the UNITED STATED OF AMERICA not MEXICO and SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!

      • hflashman

If there weren’t jobs here, the main reason to come here wouldn’t exist. Why are there jobs? Because no one faces any punishment … either by law or by social stigma. And thus the criminals who knowingly employ undocumented workers evade taxes and cost Americans jobs.

As for what they put into “law”? Give me a break. the Az law has so many loopholes for employer sanctions swiss cheese holds more water. And when was the last time you chastized or chewed on someone you knew for employing undocumented workers….and don’t say you don’t know anyone who does…we all know someone who does.

But it’s easier and conceneient to demand the poor slob looking for a job is punished, harassed and demonized. I mean, isn’t that what the TP and Conservative movement is about these days? Go after the poor guy who is looking for a job?

      • Conservative at Birth

They are criminals. Violating the laws of this country. Although it is a misdemeanor it is still a violation period. It should be made a felony. All violators including those who employ the illegals should be prosecuted. I know no one who employs illegals do you?

      • Bob

Here in NJ the illegals gather in small towns and wait for the contractors and landscapers to pick them up. I even know citizens who pick them up to work in their yard or do masonry, carpentry or other little jobs. The only way to end the problem is to start local and organize to keep these people from picking them up.

      • http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/03/29/60minutes/main2625305.shtml cemott3rd

Yes plenty, where are you hiding? Try looking in most restaurants. Blaming the illegals for coming is like blaming the ants for eating the honey you left out open. This has been going on for 30+ years and NOW it is a big issue for the GOP?!

It was so bad in LA 25 years ago I moved to Australia and then to Amsterdam and worked illegally, because the wages dropped so dramatically and if you can’t beat ‘em join ‘em!

      • hflashman

You know no one using a Spanish speaking or foreign born housekeeper/babysitter/nanny? A lawn care service? A contractor hiring temp labor (the worst offenders IMO) If you say you don’t know anyone, then you havent taken the time to look around …

And yes, I do say something to anyone I know who has or is employing undocumented workers. I say plenty.

      • eddie47d

Conservative; There are plenty who knowingly hire illegals. The Purdue chicken farms as with most agriculture entities advertise in Mexico and even bring these immigrants back. In the case of Purdue, which to me is disgusting, there is a sinister reason for it. They do want cheap labor and they bring in far more than they need. When the INS comes a knocking they throw a few illegals to the wolfs and the INS leaves them alone for awhile. This is repeated a few times a year and they go down to Mexico and get some more new hires. Hell of a racket and a burden on INS agents. It’s also wrong to treat these immigrants as human waste knowing that they will be sent back. What jerks!

      • http://?? Joe H.

        edduhh!
That can’t be true!!! All you progressives say that they only come here and do the jobs that Americans won’t do!!! Which is it edduhh?? Make up your mind!!!!

      • Lubo

Ole FLASHMAN…..You seem to be a very confused person, full of HATE. In fact, in the last blog you actually called your fellow conservative Americans “Terrorists”. Given that, your opinion means very little to us who are looking for answers. Please give us a break from the Mire and the Muck of your life.

Now, looking for a job while you are trespassing seems to be self-defeating, does it not? So again, when you want to have a meaningful discussion about this VERY LARGE problem of illegal immigration where upon we examine BOTH SIDES of the coin, then let me know. Otherwise I find you, your mentality and hatred towards our GREAT NATION, disgusting!

Also, I have turned in several who were found to be employing illegal aliens and I have personally NEVER employed one. So once again, your “Assumptive Nature” sheds all the light we need to see your foolishness.

        THE hflash?
Most do not come for jobs. They come to have there children born here at no cost (75% of babies born at Parkland in Dallas are from illegal parents) so they become citizens. Then they can collect food, money and place to live from the taxpayers. The others come because they are ciminals and would have to go to jail in their own country and here they may get deported but usally just get let go to commit another crime as is stated in the artical. THINKING!?? Most do come here for jobs and work hard. You don’t hear about them only the drug runners and the pregnant ones. They are the ones who are sensationalized and you love every minute of it. That’s why I believe this site is right up there with the National Enquirer. So start thinking and dig into the history of immigration and why has every group since our founding been looked down on. Every ethnic and racial group has faced an overseer or corporation that has used and abused them. Why does every generation feel they have to keep doing the same to somebody? Go after the businesses who do the hiring and leave the workers alone.

      • Bon, from the Land of Babble

        Thinking, you are correct.

They come here for Free American Taxpayer Money.

And, they’re only doing what the government allows them to do. An impenetrable wall could be built tomorrow if the government so desired.

I live in California, and it is 100% verboten here to speak of the cost to taxpayers, estimated to be approximately 10 billion dollars, of the illegal alien fiscal burden–the hospital closures due to unpaid medical services, the impact on the schools, their use of social services, the displacement of the productive population–all forbidden topics when discussing how to close the 19-billion dollar budget gap.

I heard tonight that California is on the verge of issuing IOUs (again) to state workers: “…50-day-late state budget, state employees and the state’s fiscal standing stand to be the biggest losers… state Controller John Chiang said Thursday he will have to issue IOUs in the next two to four weeks to keep the state solvent as it tries to close a $19 billion gap…”

IOUs were previously issued in 2009 and… “the biggest U.S. banks refused to accept California’s IOUs…”

Those IOUs are about as worthless as the American dollar.

        Bon

Yeah, Flashman, and if we didn’t have any property, there would be no thieves. What a dolt.
The fact is that we pay the Government to enforce the laws. We don’t pay Corporations to enforce the laws.
Most of us here know that Liberals look for any chance to tear down those who are productive. Ahh, the politics of envy. What would Cuba have been without them? What would the USSR have been without them? What would North Korea have been without them?
Why don’t you Liberals use all that time wasted seeking the lowest common denominator to do something productive instead?

      • hflashman

What I find amusing is that you Liberals make statements like this assuming that this is the only work that Mexicans are capable of doing and unfortunately most of the Mexicans think that you are defending them …when in fact, you are degrading them. You are actually incouraging them to not better themselves….so that they can continue doing menial tasks at low wages.
I believe that they are capable of becomming Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Business Owners, Scientists etc. but to do so, they must come here legally. peole like you defend the fact they they come here illegally and work in jobs that have no better future than what they have left behind, only now they have to live in the shadows of our society. That makes you the oppressor of the Mexican people by doing so. I want them to come here legally and become a benifit to our nation and not have to live in the shadows that they are forced into , simply because a few American’s want cheap labor…in the form of..”housekeeper/babysitter/nanny? A lawn care service? A contractor hiring temp labor”.
I offer them hope and a brighter future. You want to keep them in the shadows and keep them doing meaningless labor…shame on you.

FLashman: the problem isn’t just with the GOP, but with ALL political parties. They are populated by hacks, crooks and cheats in Washington, who are desperate need of reality checks and term limits. But until the voters give them a healthy dose of ‘kicked to the curb’, nothing is going to change. So instead of baiting the republicans and conservatives, help us dump the nitwits in Washington and start to fix America. Otherwise, you are as much of the problem as the politicians are.

    • FlaJim

You’re a leftist troll but you never give up, do you? The Big Lie, as Josef Goebbels explained, is giving the same misinformation over and over until it’s accepted as what your lefties like to preface with, “everyone knows…”

Some of the biggest tax evaders are in the current executive branch and number among its minions. We have been screaming that these people be punished but the DOJ does nothing – or maybe slaps them on the wrist.

I suspect you get your talking points from airheads at the Huffington Post but don’t digest them too well.

Since you can’t read anything longer than half a page and hope to retain it, the AZ immigration law imposes severe penalties on employers who hire illegals (invaders). Two strikes and you’re out – of business – and facing serious fines and possible jail time.

This will probably take a little time for you to comprehend. Take it a paragraph at a time. Wouldn’t want to to get the vapors.

      • Dagney

I would actually argue that if our esteemed government enforced the laws already on the books, we would not need to build that fence. If there are no jobs to be had, and police officer’s hands were untied to arrest illegals, the illegals would not even come here. Then, maybe just then, they would have a reason to start their own revolution and FIX their own darn country! Wouldn’t that be novel????

      • Lubo

Dagney….You make a very good point….hard to argue with common sense.

      • American Citizen

For once, I agree with you.

FlaJim….You nailed the Ole Flashman to the T. I have been reviewing his comments very carefully and it is obvious that he does the ole Cut and Paste out of his favorite progressive-marxist newspaper. Some of “his” posts have entirely different sentence structures that were obviously written by someone else.

Typical LAZY hate filled progressive. To lazy to speak or think for himself, so he copies others, like a parrot.

      • hflashman

LOL …. analyzed my posts and now declare they are cut and paste? Now THAT is hilarious. I cannot recall the last time I read Huffington. It’s called independent thought…something you are obviously not familiar with. I’m not a Conservative, not a wacked TPer, and certaily not a Liberal. I am a thinking American…you should try it somtime.

      • eddie47d

Flajim; All tax evaders shouldn’t be given the time of day in their scamming the system. It’s unfortunate for all the loopholes that get used. That will be an interesting law in Arizona on the two strikes and your out of business. That should make headlines if it’s ever enforced. I’ll certainly be watching.

    • thinking

      THE hflash?
Why if Arizona police are not allowed to ask if you are here legally do you want business to become the police? Why should business have to check if you are legal, that is not there job. If I hirer someone to cut my grass I have to check their papers to make sure they are legal? Do I get a badge and gun so as to arrest anyone that doesn’t have the proper papers? Do you think of what you type or is it a list given to you from democrate headquarters that you copy to your response?

      • Dagney

It is the employers job because it is ILLEGAL to hire someone not here in the country legally. Makes sense? They have all kinds of LAWS they must conform to. Why is so hard to make sure you are hiring true AMERICANS?????

      • tg7357

Because the Feds make it so hard to do the checks. Ask too many questions and the ACLU and their buddies come knocking on your door.
When I hired on with my present employer, I had to provide information for a 10 year background check with the FBI AND state authorities. But I know for a fact that same employer didn’t check the bonafides of the painters they contracted to come in here and repaint the hallways!!!

      • http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/03/29/60minutes/main2625305.shtml cemott3rd

It’s called a W-9 and all employers are required to have it filled out and documented properly, by law. To hire an illegal knowingly is up to a $20K fine for EACH employee acording to the 1986 Immigration Reform Act, so what they do is hire them through an agency (usually owned and run by an immigrant) so the employer is not held accountble. It is common in most of the lower 48, especially AZ, TX, OK, CA, CO, NM, etc.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        cemot3rd,
that’s the problem. to prove that they KNOWINGLY hired an illegal. Just make it illegal to hire one at all!!! You hire a landscaper to cut your grass? Make him give you a paper that guarantees he doesn’t hire illegals. then if a problem arises HE GOES TO JAIL. Problem solved!! Factories are required to use E-verify right now but the government doesn’t enforce it because E-verify is only renewed a year or two at a time. Make it permanent and enforce it!! As far as hiring someone to mow, just use common sense. If they are trying to get hired to do anything, they can’t refuse to show papers!!

      • DaveH

Thinking is right. We all know that there is a law requiring Employers to be the Immigration Police. So what? Does that make it right to force our Corporations to be the Immigration Police? We pay the Government Big Money to enforce our laws. They need to do their jobs instead of palming them off on the people who provide us with jobs. You said in an earlier comment (like Flashman said) that if they couldn’t get jobs, they wouldn’t come. And like I told Flashman, if we didn’t have property there wouldn’t be thieves.
The Mexicans aren’t the cause of our weak economy. They are just scapegoats for the real cause of our weak economy – Big Government. Big Government is draining our financial resources and must continually pit us against the Enemy du Jour to divert our attention away from that reality.
Hong Kong has 3 times the population density as our most densely populated state, and yet their economy is robust. They pay 15% of their GDP for Government. We pay 37% of our GDP for Government.
Put the blame where it belongs!

      • eddie47d

Come on Dizzy Dave! Hong Kong doesn’t have the infrastructure that any State would and does have. Not as many bridges, roads, miles of sewer lines and utility cables or as many municipalities. How do they figure in their farmers? opps! They don’t have any! They are like wealthy Singapore another CITY which is very selective and self contained. Hong Kong has wall to wall high rises and deals in shipping and finances. You could compare it to NYC but not the whole State. You said big government is draining our finances, okay, that can be a reasonable assumption.Yet above that you said that corporations shouldn’t have to deal with who they hire (to be the police). Well then, it would fall back on the government. That same government which is “draining our finances”. They would have to hire more government workers to police the corporations. That sounds like a circular firing squad! Both have to work in unison to keep on top of illegals.

      • JeffH

DaveH, leave it to fast eddie to put his minimal focused mind on Hong Kong. I can only shake my head and laugh at him.

      • eddie47d

Jeff H. Do you live on the same planet as the rest of us? You come up with nothing yet act like you are king. Do some thinking instead of blowing putrid hot air!

      • DaveH

        Dizzy Dave?
Eddie, you really must put down those doobies. You know absolutely nothing about what Hong Kong or Singapore have. Do you think you have any credibility at all anymore?

      • DaveH

        And Slow Eddie,
JeffH contributes orders of magnitude more factual information to this board than you do. Most of your comments consist of personal attacks in lieu of facts. Typical Liberal.

      • eddie47d

Dave H. Just like I said Hong Kong is into financial and shipping. Your site said it’s mostly a service industry dealing in finance. I don’t have to smoke doobies to know the facts. Now I will say your comparison is even more lame. Next time come up with a better answer(comparison).

      • eddie47d

Dave ,I would say your the one with the credibility problem. You use to be more factual and honest.

      • JeffH

DaveH, “facts” must have a new meaning as well as credibility.

      • DaveH

In 1998, overall government expenditures in the United States were 28% of GDP. Now they are 37% of GDP, a 30% increase in 12 years.
Has our infrastructure increased 30% in those 12 years, Eddie? If anything it has decreased. I have noted a worsening of our roads in the last decade.
Eddie is just grasping at straws with his Infrastructure comment. For it’s size, my guess would be that Hong Kong has much more Infrastructure than any area of comparable size in our country since it is so densely populated. I will leave it up to interested parties to research that. But certainly don’t take Eddie’s word for it. His “facts” are made up on the fly like most Liberal facts:
        http://www.nationsencyclopedia.com/economies/Asia-and-the-Pacific/Hong-Kong-INFRASTRUCTURE-POWER-AND-COMMUNICATIONS.html

      • eddie47d

You’re on the wrong side again Davee H.; Infrastructure is way down because it usually takes government expenditure dollars to get a project off the ground. Whether it is Federal money or State money and private companies involved in those infrastructure dollars seldom provide their own money. Since it takes a wide majority to approve road construction or dam building or whatever and Republicans and Libertarians always vote against these projects;Well the obvious is that nothing gets done. I’ve heard conservatives complain how bad some roads are to their representative. That Representative will turn around and vote against that very project. That bridge collapse in Minnesota is a prime example of politics being played out. The Governor will play tough on spending and refuse to get weakened bridges repaired. The same thing happens in my State where 112 bridges are in major need of repair. The Republicans always kick the can down the road even though these repairs are a necessity.

      • JeffH

edduh! You are like a bright and shining star in the universe of idiots and every one can watch you shine brighter than all of the other idiot stars.

      • Bob

During the last presidential debate it was brought out by Rudy Giuliani that Mitt Romney was hiring illegals. If it was against the law why wasn’t he charged.

      • http://gunner689 gunner689

        thinking:
Your “Gun and Badge” is your ability to say “NO” in hiring anyone you doubt is illegal. They’re really not too hard to spot. Inability to speak English is normally a dead give-away. hire the kid next door to cut your grass or do it yourself. I’m a disabled Vet and manage to cut my 4 acres twice a week.

        1) As to big companies that regularly hire illegals; make the fine so high that it’s cost prohibitive to hire them without proof of citizenship.

        2) Cut-off all social-welfare funding for illegals; let them go bankrupt San Francisco and other sanctuary cities. See how long their citizens put up with that crap.

        3) As to the aurgument about American not being willing to do the work, cut way back on the welfare system. Hunger is a great motivator to get out of bed and get a job.

        4) Repeal or re-write the 14th Ammendment. It’s original intent was to make former slaves and their off-spring citizens; not open the door to illegals via anchor babies.

        5) Scale back on all immagration. No one from 3rd World Countries, especially the Middle East, without a formal education that we can use. We have enough cab drivers and convienent store operators. The days of manual labor, mill jobs are basically a thing of the past. what’s left should go to Americans.

      • AnhydrousBob

        Gunner689:
I agree with you in principle on all your items EXCEPT number 1. The principle of making government smaller and less oppressive, which points 2 thru 5 do, is most important. Item number 1 would give more power to the government to coerce and oppress the people – probably by misconstruing the law. Besides, Item 1 would not be an issue if you did the other ones first.

      • michelleo

        Gunner – That’s right AMEN

    • Conservative at Birth

Exactly what immigration laws need to be reformed? Or, is this code for amnesty?

      • Dagney

Yep. You got it. We do not need more laws. If fact, I would argue that we need less. Part of the left’s ideology is to confuse the law by adding more laws that you have no hope of complying with. You confuse people so much, you can get away with all kinds of crap. There is no “rule of law” on the left.

      • Lubo

Agreed! That is why the Obamacare bill is 2,700 pages long where as our constitution is what? About 17 pages maybe?

      • Bill J

The Constitution is 6 pages long!

      • DaveH

That in fact is an oft used Legal tactic. To drown the judge in documents that he/she will be unlikely to read.

      • Dagney

Yes, our wonderful Constitution is elegant in its simplicity. It says what it means, and means what it says. However, knowing human nature so well, some of the founding fathers then wrote the Federalist Papers for complete clarification. If we do not educate ourselves on what is in those documents, how can we know when people are trampling on our rights? Here’s an example: there is no right to citizenship for babies born to illegal aliens in the 14th Amendment. It is a trick the left has been playing for years to circumvent our “rule of law”. Just like there is no “right to marriage”, for anyone, in the Constitution. ONE judge in California has given that right to a select few, stating it is, in fact, in the Constitution. He overturned with a swoop of a pen Proposition 8 and disenfranchised 7,000,000 people who voted for it.

      • Conservative at Birth

Since the mother was here illegally, does that not make the child in the womb illegal as well? They shoul be subject to deportation as well.

      • DaveH

Gay Marriage. Another one of those Red Herrings that Government employs to keep us fighting amongst each other while they grow ever larger.
Who cares? If they want to be stupid enough to legally bind themselves to each other, let them. The only real problem would come if the Gays were allowed to force ministers or other religious organizations to perform the marriage ceremonies.
We need to tackle the disease, not the symptoms. We need to get our freedom back. And that isn’t going to happen until we shrink the size of Government dramatically.

      • meteorlady

The 14th Amendment was drafted to protect the newly freed slaves so that they would have citizenship. It was not intended to give legal status to a pregnant illegal who enters this country through fraud, drops into the nearest hospital emergency room or free clinic and drops her kid at the expense of the American taxpayer.

Some historians believe that this amendment was never truly ratified because there we controversy over the way it was voted on. Most southern states would not vote to ratify it so the government declared a sort of martial law and voted it in. I believe it’s time to rethink that Amendment and do the right thing for our country.

      • meteorlady

I agree with Dave H – what do we care if a bunch of people want to protect their sexual preferences? It’s of no consequence and will not make others that are against the lifestyle like it any better than they do now. It’s a form of government legitimization to the gay community, but does nothing to actually make most people believe it’s right.

Government loves to give us something to be concerned about and divide us. It’s their way of creating crisis so that they have to act in a hurry before we really figure out what’s going on.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        DaveH,
That is exactly what will happen! Look at what happened to the abortion pill that was made legal under the name morning after pill. Ther were phamacies that refused to dispense it due to religeous objections and were sued!!! The courts decided that they had to dispense!!

      • DaveH

Very possibly, Joe. But if that does happen, Freedom lovers everywhere must stand up and squash it. We need to attack the actual affronts to our freedom, not the potential affronts.
It has long been a burr in my saddle that the good people are made to jump through numerous hoops in a vain effort to eliminate the potential acts of bad people, instead of leaving the good people alone and punishing the bad people when they actually perform their evil acts.

      • DaveH

        And Joe,
Libertarians would get the government out of the business of telling private pharmacies how to conduct their business.

      • Lubo

Depends on the font size and the size of the paper…..(:>

In the last few months there have been alot of attacks on Mexicans living in Staten Island New York. Now the Mexican gov’t wants to send troops there to protect their citizens. You can’t make this stuff up.

      • Conservative at Birth

I would be interested in learning more about this. Do you have a web site or link?

      • Bob

      • DaveH

Wow. Unbelievable. Thanks, Bob. Here is the specific link:

      • Al Sieber

Bob and DaveH, thanks for the link.

      • Dr. Mabuse

This is beyond incredible. The hubris of the Mexican “government”
is staggering. Their “troops” would be put to better use curtailing the drug cartels. Our troops would be put to better use rounding up the illegals (and their sympathizers) and shipping their azzes back over the border. And yes, I have a Brown shirt in my closet just waiting to be put into use.

      • Al Sieber

Dr., I’m with you, at least it’s a brown shirt, not red.

      • hflashman

        But you just did ….

      • DaveH

Spoke a little too soon, didn’t you, Liberal?

    • JeffH

hflashman, I’ll continue eat the red meat while you suck down your liberal gruel like a good little liberal anti-corporate communist. Why would the government want to shut down businesses over illegal hiring when the government can do it better with taxes and regulations? That way they can collect some tax money and keep those oppresed and poor hard working illegals right here in America.

    • meteorlady

Actually I believe that Bush tried for immigration reform. It’s just that he had to throw in amnesty to get his reform passed. That made a lot of people mad and thus nothing got done AGAIN!

We gave amnesty to 2.3 million illegals in 1986 and 83% obtained their “legal” status through fraud. Reagan signed the bill because the DEMOCRATS PROMISED TO SEAL THE BORDER. That never happened as the Democrats reneged and didn’t properly fund this endeavor. After 10 years the newly “legal” immigrants had brought another 1.2 million of their relatives into the country and most were living of the government entitlements programs. It was estimated that these new “legal” residents and citizens were costing the American taxpayers about $10 million per year in entitlements and when they were able to obtain SS benefits (think disability), the cost escalated to around $27 million. These figures are in 1986 dollars so figure out today what that has come to. Even more telling is that 53% settled in California.

You need to go study up on history and facgts before posting. I think you will find that the posters on this sight are more intelligent and to fall for the things you post.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Meteorlady,
You remember it well!! There was one other part as well. We the people raised so much hell with our reps tha we stopped the Bush Amnesty dead in the water!!! We made so many calls, sent so many E-mails and sent so many letters that politicians started worrying about their jobs!! Amnesty never became a fact during the Bush years!!

    • Bob

I live in NJ and never knew there was a bill submitted in the legislature to stop illegal immigration. The newspapers never write anything about it. I saw it by accident on the internet on ALIPAC.com

  • THINKING ABOUT

I guess many are lowering their standards in backing Gingrich, one of the leaders in impeaching a president for affairs and we know Gingrich’s record on that, very consistant. If Gingrich had spent more time on focusing on the open borders and illegals when he was speaker, perhaps this would have been shut down many years ago. No, we have another 12 years of open borders. I would like to see Gingrich explain this one away. Maybe his own affairs and incorrect issues to spend his time on left our borders open.

    • Dagney

Impeachment of Clinton was for LYING TO A GRAND JURY. Stop your ignorant prattle and/or trying to rewrite history. We know that’s a favorite pasttime of the left, however, people on the right are now on to it. The ones who were asleep are now reading, reading, reading. Your nonsense isn’t doing anything but make YOU look bad.

      • tg7357

Isn’t the internet a wonderful thing? The information you can dig up on people who don’t want it found!! I really think Clinton would have been tossed out of the White House on his well worn a## if the internet had been a little more accessable back in the day. Well, one learns from the mistakes of the past: look out Obama!!! What goes on the ‘net stays on the net!!!!

      • Bob

There is also alot of misinformation on the internet.

      • DaveH

That is true, Dagney, but even if he had been impeached for his “affairs”, as the Left likes to promote, that would be a very valid reason. Can we trust a man with the kind of power that a President has, when his wife can’t even trust him?

      • Dagney

The left cares not for the content of character. In fact, they REWARD people with character flaws. It just means that the elitists can feel perfectly fine looking down on others. They know they, themselves, are flawed, so they encourage others to be MORE flawed so they can continue to feel superior. It is my contention that people on the left have severe mental disorders. The sooner we start recognizing that, the sooner we can start getting them real help and not electing them to office or allowing them to teach our children.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        DaveH,
what thinking(?) likes to forget is that Clintoon did his deed IN the white house. Gingrich did the deed outside the government bldgs completely!!! Not only did Slick Willie do the deed and lie about it, he had no respect for the office he was elected to!!!

      • eddie47d

Dagney; You’re never the one to answer a question directly,so you are the one who looks bad. Let’s try it again! Why after 12 years didn’t Gingrich spend more time on the open border issue? Why didn’t he tie it into the NAFTA vote? Why is immigration a problem now and it wasn’t just a few years ago? Is it because Obama’s President? The problems are about the same so it must be your hatred for Obama;right? Obama has deported 389,000 already and has more agents on the border than President Bush did. Too many righties are trying to make history now instead of taking responsibility for all their past screw ups. Newt will be the same horse running in a different race.

      • Dagney

I’m sorry, I see no question directed at me? I’m not defending anyone, Newt, Bush, Obama on the illegal immigration issue. This is has been a problem for years and years since Reagan illadvisedly granted amnesty the first, and, hopefully, only time. It’s starting to come to a head now because it’s obvious the statist in chief wants more votes because he is going to need them next time around. However, I don’t even think if he does manage to legalize them all, he will have a prayer after the anger he has generated for himself on his complete lack of American sensibilities (the man is NOT an American whether he was born in Hawaii or not!) and incompetence in all other areas.

      • JeffH

Now now fast eddie. Dagney; You’re never the one to answer a question directly,so you are the one who looks bad?

Aren’t you about as hypocritical as one can get about answering questions? You duck and dodge questions like you’re in a dodge ball game. C’mon, like when was the last time you answered anything on this board. You’re so great with liberal scenarios and generalizations but so, so short on answers and even shorter on the facts…this make me howl with laughter, the simplest case of the pot calling the kettle, oh never mind. It ain’t gonna change anyways!

      • eddie47d

Okay half baked Jeff! You tell me why Newt didn’t solve the immigration problem after 12 years? You can sprew you usual bile but come up with nothing. Now turn over and bake the other side!

      • JeffH

fast eddie, you can’t even stay on subject. You’re a straight up hypocrite! In case you haven’t read, I’m not fond of Newt either. Did that escape you when you trolled around here or did you conveniently forget?

      • http://?? Joe H.

        JeffH,
He’s in dodgeball class. Remember, if you can dodge a question, you can dodge a ball!!!

      • eddie47d

Jeffy; Newt’s name was brought up so weren’t you paying attention again? You and I both have a right to respond to whomever we want so do you have a problem with that? Oh,I forgot only righties have rights!

      • JeffH

fast eddie, wrong one more time…you accused Dagney of never answering a direct question and I properly noted that you are a complete hypocrit with that comment as you NEVER answer a direct question and YOU always slink away like a liberal rat!

      • DaveH

But Eddie will take our comments and twist our words and accuse us of saying things we never said. One more weapon in the Liberal arsenal. Please, readers, if Eddie accuses us of saying something, look at our actual comment for the truth. Don’t take Eddie’s word for it.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        DaveH,
If edduhh! said it was raining and I could see water on the window, I’d still stick my hand out the window to make sure!!!

      • eddie47d

Dave H. Okay readers if Dave says anything please go back and re-read his comments and see if he can back them up against the responses. If he can’t and only resorts to put downs then you know his original story line may not be true. He and Jeff do the same thing all the time so don’t trust their responses and don’t fall for their good cop bad cop routine.

      • JeffH

fast edduh! Everybody on this website can read and reread your comments and DaveH comments and my, JeffH, comments and see the absurdity of your comments over and over again. Other than point out the rediculousness of what you say time and again. You must think facts are something you send throuh a fax machine because you NEVER PRESENT ANY! You are a classic case of “STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES”.

I doubt that there are but a handfull that provide the source or links to the information that is used in the comments on here, and I can truthfully say DaveH and I are two of them. All you do is generalise and stray away from the discussion and run like a scalded dog from any requests of your source of info. The difference between reality and what,s in your head is infinite.

Sorry liberal, you just don’t make the grade.

      • eddie47d

Wrong again Jeffy Just because you say something doesn’t make it true. I know some of Dave’s links are half baked and many of your comments are too!

    • Bob

He’s spent the last 12 years getting rich and now when he wants to be president he starts saying what the people want to hear. He’s still a weasel.

      • http://none John Detwiler

Well Bob you can call Gingrich a weasel. But I would rather have him in the white house than the pacifying, apologist, arrogrant and narcissistic, and inexperianced person now in charge. Just wait if gingrich decided to run as president, then you will see just how incompetent ist the person he will have to debate if Obama will even debate. Gingrich has more leglistative knowledge in his little finger, than Obama has or even will have in his entire body. But I suppose you voted for him once and will probably do so again out of your so called party unity.

      • DaveH

What everybody should know about Gingrich. Listen carefully to what he is saying:
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdP1I7uzI7Y&feature=related

It all sounds so good. But unlike in the Movies, we don’t really know who the bad guys are unless we allow Government to surveil our every movement and suspend our Constitutional Rights. And then who says they aren’t the Bad Guys? Our Forefathers gave their lives to secure our Freedom, and we are going to let these “protectors” take that away for something that might happen?

As Ben Franklin said “Those who would give up Essential Liberty
to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety”.

      • Al Sieber

Screw Newt, he’s just the other side of the same coin.

      • Bob

I don’t want either. I switched to Rep to vote for Ron Paul in the primary and then voted for Chuck Baldwin in November.

      • Conservative at Birth

So in reality, you voted for Obama, as Baldwin had no chance of winning. You fool.

      • DaveH

        No Conservative,
You are the fool. Voting for the lesser of two evils is still just evil. It is why we are in this mess now. Better to “throw away” your vote than to vote for somebody who really isn’t interested in your Freedom.

      • DaveH

Thanks to Big Government Republicans, who aren’t much better than Democrats, the Overton Window just keeps sliding to the Left. And the voters don’t know any better, because most don’t even know there is a good alternative. Until we start “throwing away” our votes and bringing ever-increasing public awareness to the fact that there is a better solution, then we will keep on sliding left.

      • Al Sieber

Conservative At Birth, DaveH said it right, but I and, probably Bob, voted our conscience, a vote for any of the 2 canidates, was a vote against the constitution, who did you vote for? what chance did Chuck Baldwin have? my vote was a FU vote against the Govt., a protest vote.

      • Al Sieber

C.A.B., if voting counted, it would be illegal.

  • dan az

Chip if there is a november election then they will see there mistakes in the unemployment lines.Hopefully this will be the biggest turn out in history, the only thing that obumer has done that I would have to give him credit for.Thank God!

    • http://?? Joe H.

      dan az,
On the news today they showed a graph on the unemployment levels in the last two years. the rate was low when nobama took over then spiked to just over 10% and now is dropping again with the election coming up. the spike was just into the middle of the time shown. If nobama wants to claim the drop in the last few weeks then he also has to claim the spike!!! He can’t have it both ways!!!

      • American Citizen

More jobs are still being lost than are being created. The unemployment rate is higher than the government claims due to the fact a lot of people have stopped looking and are content to take unemployment money. The only spike happened during the census due to the new government jobs, but those are gone and the rate went up again. The MSM won’t tell the truth about what is happening.

As for the illegals, the second time they are caught, throw them in prison for a while before sending them back to let them know it’s 3 times and you’re out – a long prison term.

The troops coming back from Iraq should immediately be sent to the border to stop the illegals from coming in. We are being invaded and the military is supposed to stop invasions.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        American Citizen,
The only problem with a long prison term, at least a normal prison, is that we the people would still have to support them!! Put them in a prison like sheriff Joe Arapao runs, make them raise their own food and build the fence as well.

      • dan az

Good point joe but you know he will blame it on bush.then take the credit.

  • dan az

    chip
how about some names for local congress ect. time is short and I would like to only vote conservative not like brown the turn coat.

    • DaveH

      Dan,
I haven’t yet seen a candidate without a website. We need to use those websites first (especially their “issues” page) to see what a candidate says he/she stands for. And then check their past history (if any) to see if they have indeed behaved or voted that way. And then, if elected and they don’t keep their promises we need to vote them out, no excuses accepted.
And please, if you are Republican, vote out the RINO John McCain. Hayworth may be no better but we can deal with him in the next primary. There must be some kind of punishment for John’s RINO behavior.
Best of all would be to start giving your fervent help to the Libertarian Party. They are the only ones with the Principles to take us back to the roots of this countries Freedom, that is Individual Freedom, Personal Responsibility, Free Markets, and Limited Government:
      http://libertarianparty.org/platform

      • Bill J

Libertarians are long on words but short on actions! It seems that they would rather win an argument than win an election!

      • DaveH

Puhlease. We are trying our best. But the two major parties like their power and they don’t want to give it up. So, they have done everything possible to marginalize us. Now, however, with the Internet, and thanks to Fox News, and Fox Business Channel, we are finally getting the message out to the citizens. Still, only a very small percentage of the population understands our platform and why it would work. Instead of bad-mouthing us, why don’t you look into our platform and seek knowledge of why our proposed Freedoms would result in a more peaceful and prosperous society.

      • DaveH

        more sources for Libertarian wisdom:
        cato.org
        reason.org
        mises.org

      • http://?? Joe H.

        DaveH,
I agree with almost all the Libertarian principles and yes I would like to see them get in just once to see what they could accomplish, but we had the internet and Fox channel and Fox business and they and anyone that the two parties didn’t agree with were marginalized from the start!!! One thing we need is to schedual ALL the states primaries at the same time!!! That way the two parties couldn’t hand pick the states to make sure the states that might make a difference can’t!! Quite often there are states that don’t even count in the primaries so a lot of people are so disgusted they don’t even vote in the primaries!!

      • dan az

        Thanks dave!

      • Al Sieber

DaveH, you can bet your ass I’m voting against McCain, I’m registered Republican, I switched from Independent, to Repub. to vote for Ron Paul in the primaries. so DaveH, who do we have here in Ariz. worth a crap at the local level?

      • Al Sieber

        I’m with the Libertarians, also.

      • dan az

        Hey Al
same here I know who to vote out but with all the names not familiar its difficult I too went republican to vote Ron Paul as for Gov. who else Jan Brewer.Hayward sucks eggs and mc cain lays them.there has to be some good conservatives out there.

      • DaveH

        Dan and Al,
When I got my property tax bill last October, I was enraged. Here we were in a deep recession and they were raising our property tax! So I fired off an Email to all of my representatives at the State Legislature (all Republicans). Three of them didn’t mention Jan Brewer, but the three of them that did all accused her of stopping them from cutting taxes. I don’t pay much attention at the state level, so I didn’t realize she was in bed with the tax and spenders. I actually got a personal phone call from one of the Representatives. It was funny, because when she announced who she was, I immediately started pondering ‘uh oh, did I say something in the Email that they could twist into a threat?’. As it turns out, she was a sweetheart and thinks very much like I do. I will probably vote for her this election, even though Republican, because I was so impressed with her response.

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty” – Thomas Jefferson.

      • JeffH

DaveH, isn’t it nice to at least feel like someone is actually reading and responding to your letter? I’ve been lucky that way also with two of my representatives. One, Devan Nunes, had one of his assistants call me because he was in DC fighting the HC debacle and the 2nd Dave Cogdill always responds with with a personal letter unlike Boxer and Feinstein who send the generic email responses.

    Chip,
I think the time is getting real close to vote some common sense into office!!!

    • JeffH

Joe H., as much as I’d like to agree, isn’t the term “common sense” used by every lying politician every time they propose new laws or regulations that restrict our freedoms? Every anti-gun proponent uses that term and it just makes me sick to even hear it used. No offense meant to you.

I’d like to see some genuine constitutionalists voted in and as you well know, we’ll do our best to make it happen.

      • DaveH

Every person has their own idea of what “common sense” is. The reality is that everything we think was learned at some time either from somebody else or from our own life experiences. “Common Sense” is just a manipulative phrase.

        Liberal in disguise?

Liberal only in the sense that Immigration, can’t , won’t or do their job!

Liberal in tolerance, knowing people are here that shouldn’t be here.

Liberal in thinking, that it’s somehow not a big issue.

For what it’s worth to you, in the last 17 months Immigration under Obama administration has been much more forceful and active then the prior administration.

        >>”French couple have Canadian visa application denied

June 08 2010 by Liam Clifford

A French couple living in Canada on Canadian work visas have had their application for permanent residency rejected because their daughter has cerebral palsy.

Sophie and David Barlagne were told by the Canadian immigration department, which is traditionally among the most welcoming in the world, that their personal wealth was not sufficient to look after their daughter’s needs. As a result they deemed their seven-year-old daughter, Rachel, to be to too high a burden on the country’s health system.

The couple moved to Canada as economic migrants, one on an investors visas, the other as a skilled worker. They found these visas easy obtain as Canada is always looking for immigrants to boost its dwindling and aging population.”<>” Obama Administration Heads for Record Number of Deportations, Leaving Record Number of Families and Communities Devastated

Undocumented students from around the country demand the passage of the Dream Act outside the White House, despite the threat of arrests and deportation.

In a bid to remake the enforcement of federal immigration laws, the Obama administration is deporting record numbers of illegal immigrants and auditing hundreds of businesses that blithely hire undocumented workers.
        This Story

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency expects to deport about 400,000 people this fiscal year, nearly 10 percent above the Bush administration’s 2008 total and 25 percent more than were deported in 2007. The pace of company audits has roughly quadrupled since President George W. Bush’s final year in office.

The effort is part of President Obama’s larger project “to make our national laws actually work,” as he put it in a speech this month at American University. Partly designed to entice Republicans to support comprehensive immigration reform, the mission is proving difficult and politically perilous. ”

        barbwire,
Did those illegals demonstrating outside the white house get deported??? there they had a whole group of them, easy to round up and they just ignored them!!! As far as his deportations being 10 percent more than Bush, that is no reccommendation at ALL!!! Bush was nothing to brag about, being a progressive himself!!! Everyone of those troops they bring out of Iraq should be stationed here in the states and everyone they replace should have to do one year minimum on the border with Mexico!!! Show ALL, including the cartells, in Mexico we mean business!!! with that many troops we could seal the border so tight a mouse couldn’t get through, A south of the border mouse, that is!!!!

      • Al Sieber

Well, they sure as hell aren’t deporting them here in Ariz.

BW, I don’t have a t.v. that get’s any reception where I live, no Fox news etc. if Obama was doing his job our borders wouldn’t be wide open, in the S.W. part of our state the drug cartels have invaded and taken over the game refuge and other areas, so how is it Obama’s admin. is tougher on illegals? did you see it on Fox News?

You want constitutionalists, you can have constitutionalists. Go to constitutionparty.com, or if in Missouri, go to constitutionpartymo.org We want to see our country return to the Constitution, and return to the country of our founding fathers.
Nationwide we have many Constitutionalists who are running for office. I say vote a straight party ticket, (The Constitution Party ticket) and let’s get rid of the Democraps and the republicans, and let’s return our country to its roots.

VOTE CONSTITUTION PARTY AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!

    • Richard Pawley

Joe, common sense is what many don’t want. Look at how much Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and the Tea Party are opposed. We don’t need egg heads with grandiose ideas of building a utopia on earth to be running any government, much less ours. We need practical people who have the sense to know if they don’t know something they can find someone who does. These are just ordinary people that those in power are so fearful of they call them ‘terrorists’ while they themselves pillage the population for it’s pocketbook and they are worth. I wrote about the illegal alien who executed those three college students in my politically incorrect book about what is really going on in the United States and why. I pointed out that if he were a white man or a black man or even a Native American there is no way in the world that he would be on the street to rape and murder but he is a member of the ‘protected’ class who can do no wrong – illegal aliens! Remember even George Bush would not answer and actually hastened his step to get away from those who were asking him about the possibility of uniting Mexico, Canada and the USA into a North American Union of sorts during his Canadian visit while president. In the “The Last Days of the Late Great United States” I also mentioned that there have been more Americans killed by illegal aliens here in the USA than were killed by the evil-doers on 9/11. I mentioned the then known ONE MILLION SEX CRIMES perpetrated by illegal aliens on the population, something that congress considers just a cost of doing business. Ranting and raving about Bush or Clinton or Obama isn’t going to change anything – none of them could do much of anything without the complicity of Congress. Additionally, Congress has already squandered so much money in so many ways that food and fuel are going to triple in price in this decade and some think within 36 months. Only when we get rid of all those in Congress who want to crush the little guy while saving those “to big to fail” will anything change. There are Republicans in this group too. This may happen in November but sadly the Democratic-Socialists have spent so much borrowed money that they are now just printing it and that never ends well. Food and fuel, as I just said, will triple in the future and the then president will likely be blamed for that but it is the 111th Congress that will have caused it. Get rid of them in ten weeks or it could be much worse than just terrible inflation. There is a skimpy handful of Democrats and another of Republicans who care and try to do right but they are outvoted by those whose main interest is their cushy jobs with great benefits, millions in perks, as they laugh at the ‘little people’ who elected them. If, as the ancient Christian teacher said, “Politics is God’s punishment to mankind for sin” is true, then we are surely being punished by the 111th Congress. Some believe we have created problems so big we can’t solve them without God’s help and in that I tend to agree but we are as stubborn as the ancients and we would rather do it our way if it kills us, then humble ourselves before our creator and ask for help and direction. The ACLU even trembles at the idea of the God mentioned in every state constitution and in our national one. They want to be God and even the president makes fun of those who believe in their Bible and the Constitution but government alone is not going to be able to protect you from Sharia Law and the goal of Muslims to conquer the earth for ‘their’ God. We don’t have a lot of time left. Congress must be replaced, voted out and sent home to retirement. They continue to dictate how they will take our money and spend it for us, for our own good, of course, billions here for the banks and billions there for the heads of the unions, and on and on. I was surprised to discover that 70 members of Congress are outright Socialists/Marxists/Communists/Progressives or whatever name they choose next to call themselves (“Our Saviors?”) and are members of the Democratic Socialists of America. These despisers of freedom and God look down on the Constitution and it’s freedoms and are affiliated with the Socialists International in Europe. We have one last chance and that is to vote them out in ten weeks and maybe we can slow down this train that is careening down the mountain as Congress just greases the tracks with billions here and billions there. In any event the tripling of food and fuel is a given as a result of what the 111th has already squandered. Prepare for that and you will be ahead of the know-it-alls in our District of Corruption. May God bless the United States because no one else is going to do so, and only you, the people can vote the 111th out. TEN WEEKS!

      • Hugh Jordin

Palin and Beck are opposed by many who do not want hypocritical tabloid phonies representing them and shaping opinion. We DESPERATELY need wise conservative leadership to move our country forward. Cerebrally challenged individuals, no matter how much media attention they get, do not do anything to further the cause of true conservatives. On the contrary, bozos like these make conservatism sound like the philosophy of dim wits.

Let’s get SMART conservatives in office and leave the winkers and criers to the pages of supermarket tabloids where they belong.

      • Richard Pawley

I disagree! Many fear truth and justice, morality and honor. Glenn Beck has no intention of running for any office, that’s not his gift, but that’s the kind of person we need, someone like Washington who doesn’t want the job but feels the call of duty. Instead we have hot-to-trot Congressmen and women who want the power, and the prestige, and believe they know better than anyone else what is good for us. People like Beck and Palin and Jindal and Bachman are people who know they don’t know it all and are quite capable of finding those who do know. It is just because they are down-to-earth that Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck appeal to so many. They don’t Lord it over any nor pretend they know better than others, or worse yet, believe they are better than others. Another problem us that we have 36,000 highly paid lobbyists in our District of Corruption who are ready to dole out money, power, sex, and a lot more to those who will vote their way and for what their sponsors want. They spent upwards of $300 million to overturn the Glass-Steagall Act when Clinton was president and that had kept the FED and the banks from causing a Great Depression for 66 years. Once it was gone, replaced by the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act, it only took the FED and the banks 8 years to bring about this current crisis. Truly smart people are not experts in everything, they are people who truly care, and who are smart enough to know they are not better than others. You need not fear Glenn Beck running for president. That is not his gift. He is more like a Thomas Paine or a George Whitfield who is using his abilities to rouse a sleepy nation from their apathy to regain what freedom they have already lost before we lose it all. If it were not for Beck and Palin (I first saw her on his TV program months before most outside of Alaska had ever heard of her) we would be well on our way or replacing our Republic with a socialist/marxist/progressive or commuist form of government. Regardless of who gets elected in 2012, and it will make little difference unless the 111th Congress is sent home this November, we are still going to have food and fuel and imported goods tripling in price due to all the borrowed money that Congress has already squandered. Probably the next president will be blamed for that but it is really the current Congress that is responsible. What we don’t need is a Republican counterpart to President Obama. He is the smartest president since Woodrow Wilson, the Democratic president who started segregation in the military but IQ alone is insufficent to guide the United States. I know someone who has an IQ of 200, the highest possible score on the Mensa test but he doesn’t have a a lot of common sense although he has PhD’s and many other degrees. I’ll take everyday common sense and some business experience over PhD’s and lawyers every time.

      • Hugh Jordin

You are right, they don’t know it all… but we need leaders that are more than just appealing, we need genuinely intelligent leaders. When you consider our beloved founding fathers, they were among the most intelligent and articulate people of their time, or any time for that matter. That it how they were able to shape the foundation of our great country.

Palin, Bachman, Beck, and Jindal are nice people, are patriotic, etc. but to think they are smart enough to command the most powerful military in human history, and to handle the complex problems of our great nation you are kidding yourself. Because they are appealing personalities and “down to earth” does not mean they are eminently qualified to lead the country. Palin’s presence on the ticket is why Obama won. Moderates could not take her seriously and were afraid to have her finger anywhere near the nuclear button.

If you saw Palin’s recent encounter with a teacher in Alaska you would understand her cerebral limitations

Also: brilliance does not mean that one automatically “lords it over” other people. Many of the world’s greatest geniuses conducted themselves with great humility. The smarter you are, the more aware you become aware of your mortal limitations.

It is important to get conservative ideas guiding our country, but that will only happen when intellects that approach those of our founding fathers carry the torch. Individuals that seem to spout memorized sound bites are not going to cut it.

      • LocalYokel

Only six people attended Thomas Paine’s funeral because of politically, socially, and religiously threatening nature of his words, but like those of Palin and Beck are very worthy of deep consideration.. If conservatism can not stand up to to the waves caused by both the philosophy of those who support it and the biased perpetual media attacks, then perhaps the time for a new spirit with a new title is at hand. False pride anchored in fantasy is as destructive as media lies. All “smart” candidates will defer any announcement of eligibility to converge with the expensive TV waste necessary to swing the uninformed voters and avoid early character assassination.

Hugh, these people think , Beck and Palin are the answer! You can’t convince them of anything! They are just smart by natural selection and all the rest of us that struggle to stay informed, abreast of the issue and apply unbiased reasoning are just stupid! & liberals!!!!!!! let’s not don’t forget the liberal part. Never mind they both carry Liberal Art degrees. ~ Well I know Palin does, and Glenn tried! Maybe someone might “gave” him one by now.

I just wanted you to to know everyone on this site don’t think as they do. Beck has developed into quite a snake oil salesman and Palin is all about Palin, always was and always will be. Palin has way too much going on in her life at this point to ever stop, back up and get a firm grip on the issues ~ for her, ~ it will always be “talking points” ~ she can regurgitate the talking points for 15 minutes, 30 minute would be a serious stretch.

These people “love” these two characters! The more you attack them the more they will defend them.

      Hi CHip,

It contiinues to baffle be how our government is set on dissarming this country while at the same time encouraging trespass within our borders by such an evil element as depicted in your report.

As to deportation with immediacy, I don’t believe it would work. If they are not detained here they will not serve sentence anywhere, especially in their own countries, and there will be no deterrent to keep them from continuing to show up here time and time again much as it is now.

There should also be a stiff and direct sanction for anyone entering this country who has a prior of deportation especially if it was connected to serious or violent crime.

Just a thought… we could build federal facilities like Gitmo to house these prisoners. When released, they are on their ownn to arrange for a (Taxi) to get them back to their own Country…

Some laugh at being deported. One minor criminal was deported NINE times. It’s a joke and the only one’s laughing are our representatives in Washington, laughing at us for having elected them.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Richard P.
So don’t deport them right away! Make them spend their time in a facility like Sheriff Joe’s tent jail, work the crap out of them like the old chain gangs and when their time is up send them back with the information that they will be shot on sight if they return! Do this a few times with a few of the bad criminals and the rest won’t come back either!!!

      • Christin

That sounds like a plan, Joe H.
I think we (USofA) will have to back that up with MORE for it to completely work.
        Finish the double layer FENCE.
ADD Border Patrol Boots on the ground (not desk jobs.)
        Add High Tech Equipment.

I might add, cut the FREE citizenship if born here when the parents are illegal. Minor children should be deported with their illegal alien law-breaking parents.

Fed gov should protect and defend American Citizens… #1.
(Well, that is what the real America should do, but we aren’t a sovereign nation anymore. Others are pulling the US strings.)

      • JeffH

        Joe H. my sentiments exactly!

      • Mary

That’s right. There is only one way left. It’s them or us.

      • Al Sieber

Christin, it doesn’t really now, because the illegals are still pouring into the US. the Trojan Horse is already here.

      • PETE SEGER

I SORT OF AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT THE ILLEGALS HAVING TO DO THE TIME FOR THE CRIME MOSTLY THOSE THAT ARE A&B THROUGH B- FELONY WHAT THE HELL AM I TALKING ABOUT {MURDER} + {ROBBERY} WITH A GUN OR KNIFE {RAPE}AND {A-SALT} HERE IS A LITTLE SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO TAKE INCONSIDERATION WITH A TWIST “OKAY”O-KAY YOU TAKE THEM ALL LOAD THEM INTO A BOEING B10 MAYBE LOCK THEM DOWN NO NO THAT WOULD BE CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT.OKAY LOAD THEM IN WITHOUT A PILOT ONLY A REMOTE CONTROL WITH A QUARTER OR HALF A TANK OF GAS DEPENDING WHERE THERE LEAVING FROM TELL THEM THAT THEY ARE FREE TO LEAVE BUT WITH IMPLEMENTATIONS THEY ARE NOT TO COME BACK TO THE {U.S.A.}EVER AGAIN WATCH THEM LEAVE HAVE A FIGHT PLANE ESCORT THEM OUTSIDE THE PERIMETERS 200 MILES OUT OVER THE OCEAN OR WELL OVER OUR SOUTHERN BOARDER AND THEM SHOT A DESTRUCTIVE MISSILE AT THE PLANE WATCH IT EXPLODE IN A ARRAY OF “HELL FIRE” THEN WE CAN DISCO TO THE TUNE OF “I JUST WANT TO CELEBRATE CELEBRATE I JUST WANT TO CELEBRATE” . . . . !
