Can Obama Find Hope?

At a fundraiser in Milwaukee on Monday, President Barack Obama said in a speech, “Let’s reach for hope.” Apparently hope is all he has left.

While he “inherited”—a word he loves to use as if the economic woes of the country came to him by surprise—an economy that was in freefall due to Federal Reserve interest rates set at near zero and government policies that benefited Wall Street and Big Banksters while absolving them of risk, he supported most of those policies while a back-bencher in the United States Senate.

Obama has officially been president for 19 months, and his economic team began working hand-in-hand with the George W. Bush administration immediately after the November, 2008 elections. Everything done subsequently that has created the almost $2 trillion deficit and deepened and prolonged the recession lays at his feet.

He can hope things get better before the November elections. He can hope his economic advisors will get a good surprise for a change. He can hope his (and Michelle’s) summer vacation continues.

Our hope is that enough awakened voters hit the voting booths in November to stop the train wreck that is Obama and a Democrat-controlled Congress.

While Obama urges his followers to reach for hope, right thinking Americans will soon be able to make a change.

    Yes and Onumnutts didn’t have to work with a Congress, since they were all in shock and awe of the “intellual idoit” with out any actual experience, at even selling lemonade. He has rammed the worthless health care plan through,more social programs, way more people out of work and more waiting for their lay offs. The dumb illegitamate bastard couldn’t stimulate rattle snake, even if he tried to purple lip lock it. Bush may have started the bank bailout, which was asked for by Onumnutts and his socialist a-ses in Congress who wanted and developed the plan to protect, the dems big corportaions and finaical buds who donate millions to them. Thank God this goat humper hasn’t got his marxist agenda rammed through. The wars employ smart people not some dip wad with brains of a pacing piss ant, also if we went and fought hard and fast, instead whimpy feely meely style the way liberal want.     The American public voted for then candidate Obama knowing what his agenda was and how he would address the issues (health care, the economic crisis, the wars, etc.). His approach is what most voters wanted. His plans were not fully implemented since, as with any president, they must work with congress to hammer out the details. I can’t imagine anyone coming into office early in 2009 turning the economy right around no matter what approach they took. President Obama’s stated approach prior to the election was to use stimulus dollars as President Bush had started. Considering his situation, I cannot fault President Obama for where we are and I believe he has pulled us further along the path to a strong America. He has worked hard, worked with integrity and with intellegence. Proud to be an Amercan and an Independent.
    Let the name calling begin.

        Almost every presidential candidate uses those three buzzwords in their campaign. Change, hope, and prosperity are not a presidential platform. I mentioned three general planks in his platform and he has made progress in all three; not as much as he wanted and not as much as we all want but progress for a better America (considering the mess he started with).

      Doc Sarvis, I beg to differ. Yes, Obama was elected because he promised “Hope & Change”. The problem is that most people didn’t do any extensive research into the man himself to see that he was a disciple of Saul Alinsky, that he gravitated toward the radical communists, that both his mother and father were radical communist sympathizers, that he had a strong connection to the anti-American George Soros and he had very little experience in anything but “community organizing” with ACORN.
      Not once did he ever lay out any specifics of his Hope & Change other than social equality, re-distribution of wealth and a fundamental transformation of America. He talks the talk but he doesn’t walk the walk. Too many that voted for this mysterious Hope & Change now realize it was just a ruse concocted by he and those that put him in office, his puppet masters.

      You say that these people knew what he planned and therefore voted for him. As far as I can remember, he never once stated what he wanted. All he talked about was “hope and change”. Not what the change would be. Since he has taken office and we’ve seen what his change actually is, (such as voting blindly on a bill before you could see what was in it) we as a nation no longer support him. He has the lowest rating of any President in just this short a time in office. There is no way you can say the people want what he wants nor can you say that these same people will vote the way he wants this November. Actually from the polls it appears that only those like you on Welfare will be voting his way.

    Barack won because he convinced 50% of American that he had ALL the answers. His campaign was based on that. As soon as he got elected he ‘suddenly’ was shocked to see how bad things were, and sort of had to amend himself. Now he says be patient? What a crock, he is an empty suit, he’s always been an empty suit, and without some major miracle he will die and empty suit. The man is a ligthweight who has always taken the cop-out route. Always wanted to be of the elite, but didnt want to do the work. He hid much of it by paying a forune to hide his past, but his politcal records were there for us to see…why werent people concerned about his laziness and ineptitude in congress and the senate? Now he vacations constantly, plays Bball daily (and ties up WH staff to play with him), and has played more golf in 18 mos than Pres Bush did in 8 yrs. We put a spoiled little boy in a man’s job. Now our children and their children pay.

      Those vacations cause people in those locations he goes to, to get stuck in traffic. HE was in Los Angeles the other day and people were stuck in traffic for up to 4 hours. The people should not be inconvenienced by the clown that way. He was only attending a fund raising dinner to add insult to injury. If I was one of those, needlessly stuck in traffic for 4 hours, I would demand that my lost time be deducted from my taxes.

    I see a lot of big words here, but I choose to keep it simple. The so called inherited economy was voted into place by a demorat held congress while Bush was still in office. That demorat congress was led by all the far left extremists like obama, and yes he did vote that budget in, and now he trys to place the blame, not on those that voted this enormous crap in, but the one guy that had to sit back and watch it happen in the demorat controlled congress. We do not need any more left wing extremists. Carnahan in Missouri is an obama puppet and needs to be laid to rest permanently. Hope is all obama has indeed. He is hoping that the idiot sheep and weak fools that voted him into office have not woke up yet. His hope is that they are still idiots and fools and they will vote his far left extremists into offices around the country. He is a fool, his cast of croonies are a bunch of fools and his supporting voters are flocks of fools. These idiots are so far left that they do not deserve to be called democrats and I am very surprised that the middle road dems have not took a stand, I am very surprised that our military has not took a stand, locked the doors, so that these idiots of tyranny cannot report for work. It is time, to take a stand, sit them down, then wipe them out.

      Our military is taught, rightly, that they are military. It is their job to protect the country from outside enemies. It is NOT their job to impose military rule on us due to something they dislike – even if they dislike the same things we do. That is our job. So don’t try to push OUR job off on the military. Further, most of the military and police have take an oath to not interfere if and when we the citizens actually do attempt to make a change.

    We have all heard all the latest rhetoric coming our way via the occupants of this white house and others on the sensitive issue of building a mosque on what has become known as hallowed ground in lower Manhattan, NY., In his speech during a White House celebration to mark Ramadan Obama said: “I understand the emotions that this issue engenders. Ground Zero is, indeed, hallowed ground.”, when questioned on the subject, Obama responded, “Well, you know, I think that whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or the perspective of US Law, answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade.”

    Over the weekend, Obama pulled a John Kerry, (you remember him don’t you, the liberal guy with the boat and tax issues, who could not make his mind up, if he was a war hero or a war protester, or both, or just another troubled soul, trying to over come the burdensome issues of taxes!)

    Initially, Obama supported building the Ground Zero mosque, when giving his speech during the White House celebration to mark Ramadan in Washington, D.C.

    Arriving in Florida, some 1200 miles from the nation’s capital, speaking to the folks, while trying desperately to distance himself from his own words, he claimed he was only dealing with the vague constitutional generalities of the case. He implausibly insisted, “My intention was to simply let people know what I thought, which was that in this country we treat everyone equally, in accordance with the law, regardless of race, regardless of religion. I was not commenting, and will not comment, on the wisdom of making a decision to put a mosque there. I was commenting very specifically on the right that people have that dates back to our founding. That’s what our country’s about, and I think it’s very important that, as difficult as some of these issues are, that we stay focused on who we are as a people and what our values are all about”. Imagine placating this or that group, while serving up a party for this or that group in the white house, while the folks who pay the bills for the party givers, are watching the galore from afar, with hopes of stability in their lives!

    I for one am surprised and confused with all this talk concerning religious rights in America; frankly, I am amused with the notion that the secular crowd and the so called American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has all but fallen silent on the sensitive subject of religious faith and rights in America, and where to build this or that religious building or house of prayer in our land of the free and brave, in which believers would like to pay homage while worshiping their God!

    Ergo the secular and the so called ACLU silence, which frankly reminds me of the words written in that old book, called the bible, (“when the armorbearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell on his sword and died with him”). You, might even equate their silence with the notion, that they too have; fallen on their secular sword, when their so called messiah signaled his followers to follow him into their nirvana, and his quest for Muslim attention and so called fairness in America, (does that mean in order to be PC we will have to enact into our Laws some form of that pesky Muslim law which allows their believers to stone to death women who violate Muslim Law as written in the Koran, nothing like a little appeasement to appease those 1.6 Billion Muslim’s living around the world). It’s reported we have 8 Million Muslims living in the land of the free and brave, so I guess we won’t have to witness many of those pesky stone throwing rituals here in America, by devote Muslims who with the right provocation might donate a dime or two, and cast a vote instead of a stone in their quest for fairness!     Aside, from those pesky, stones, stoning’s and votes, you may recall, that the ACLU and secular group’s across the land have been troubled and affronted with traditions like Christmas Holidays, Jewish Holidays, and words like Merry Christmas, being shared by folks across the land, and have been relentless in their efforts to ban all nativity icons, and so called christen icons from being displayed in private business and or public buildings across the land! It would almost be amusing if it were not so hypothetical, I mean it appears that this group of secular liberals or as they like to say progressives, along with their favorite liberal action group the ACLU, has either gone tone deaf, deft or fallen in love with the words of the Koran, or are just following their leader, looking for votes and love, in the process of searching for their PC nirvana and Muslim acceptance!

    Imagine!

    I too can be judged guilty of finding, this or that latest fad amusing from time to time! But the first time some Muslim cleric suggests wearing a cumbersome vest, (for those of you confused with the notion of cumbersome, think in terms burdensome expectations short term in this life) I suggest you might run like hell!

    Imagine the secular outcry if a Christian or Jewish cleric were to suggest such dastardly and hypothetical conduct to their flock of believers or even more sinister, condone such vile actions of hatred with their absence of voice and disapproval! Imagine, a silence; which speaks volumes, while condoning acts of terrorism in their places of worship!

    The travesty of it all; seems to me, to reek with; a stench absent any notion of honesty, the absolute absence of any reality or honesty. Talk about a, palter of disingenuous innuendo, the silence of Muslim clerics regarding so called suicide bombers and Islamic terrorist and the so called Jihad, deifies any reality, I can fathom, or grasp, while silently speaking volumes regarding their contempt for all non believers, who are supposedly to blame for all the evils in the world.

    Oooh well I am sure you will vote your own feeling regarding your interpretations of inactions or the actions of this administrations efforts to make America a better place, via those pesky voting booths across America, when making your way pass those pesky Black Panthers stationed at voting booth across the land to protect the people, or so say the Obama administration and its AG Eric Holder.

    Obama asked for this job, he campaigned hard for this job, he said he could do this job. He said he could fix the economy. Now all he wants to do is blame Bush and all of the Republicans. Obama is the one who shut out the Republicans from making any of the major decisions on any of the major bills/fiascos that have been voted and approved.
    Obama chose to ignore the economy and instead pushed through his unpopular agenda’s. Now he is having to eat his mistakes.

Please, understand there is a reason for government. And it is not just to protect the interest of the few, but, to protect the common interest of society as a whole. It would have been better to have a public option in the healthcare reform, but people that don’t know any better were convinced by the very astute to fight against their own interest. But insurance/healthcare reform is needed because without it the price to society as a whole is greater. Insurance in health matters is not a consumer friendly product, nor is a practical investment to the consumer. To understand this you only have to look at the concept for creating a profit, because unlike any other product it only generates a ‘profit’ when used at a minimun, or not used at all. Now that you have a better idea of how insurance works you will understand why they attach so many conditions to the policy. These are called ‘exclusions and limitations’, and are very important because not knowing them could be the difference on whether the insurance pay for your emergency room treatment, or you will be stuck with the $20,000. 00 bill (this is not a lie, it is the average cost for a one day visit/treatment at the ER). Now, if you are like most people that are only a few paychecks ahead of themselves, probably don’t have the money to pay and the government (taxpayers) will foot the bill, of course, unless you prefer to let you die instead for lack of medical care because you have no health insurance. And it doesn’t take much to have health insurance: 1) Your employer could drop coverage because is too expensive (average cost for a family plan is $1200.00 to $1500.00 per month). 2) You lose your job, and ntherefore you lose your plan. You can buy into ‘cobra’ but this plan is usually more expensive and, remember, you don’t have a job at this point. 3) You work for a very small employer, or are self employed, and though you could making enough money to afford the premiums, because of a pre-existing medical condition you are declined. Or 4) The insurance company outright cancells you out. Oh, wait a minute they can’t single you aout for a rate increase, nor they can single you out for cancellation, unles they cancel the ‘whole class’ group, it says so in the policy. I guess your safe then. Oh, wait a minute, not so fast, you are reclassified/assign to a different policy group together with others designed for cancellation, and guess what? now you are part of a whole group destined for cancellation. Too bad, no more insurance for you. If this was to happen to you, then what? would you still be against insurance reform, would you still be against a public option?. See, all the ideas put forth by the republicans to influence reform were done to protect the status quo of the insurance industry, thus newtralizing any reform, and they were somewhat successfull in doing so. Just look at who was doing in favor of the insurance by looking at who was contributing to their campaings as it was with sen. Lieberman that received approx. $1 million from insurance. I could go on but time and space is limited. Please, support insurance/healthcare reform for the benefit of America. Don’t let those that have ulterior motives deceive you.

        Actually, I’m a registered Democrat – but I haven’t voted for a Democrat on a national level in about thirty years. And I don’t normally vote for state Democrats. But I am a firm conservative and have been all my life. But that comes from being able to think – something most Democrats can’t do. Or at least not well.

        I’m quite sure that all of the Soros linked 527′s have never accepted a dime of foreign donations. Now if memory serves me right, the Democratic Party has been bought and paid for by Soros, through his Open Society Institute, which funnels approximately $300 million a year into various liberal venues, including the influential MoveOn.org, which he owns.

        The financial contributions that Soros and his fellow donors made to these 527s greatly exceed the sums which campaign finance laws would have permitted them to give to any political candidate, political party. By funding the 527s, Soros is helping them promote messages and worldviews that were consistent with those of leftist politicos; as such, the funders were indirectly but quite substantially helping candidates of the left. In a sense, Soros and his fellow donors effectively laundered their political contributions through Section 527 groups.

        Soros’ believes the best way to bring America to its knees, to weaken it’s will to survive, to cleverly turn it against itself, was to do everything in his considerable arsenal of means to deliver the White House to Barack Obama. Up to this point in time, he has succeeded.

        Our political process is OWNED by foreigners. Just who do you think sits under the unbrella of the House of Rothschild? George Soros, a major funder of US politicians and policies, and a Bilderberg, is Hungarian. The Saudis throw tons of money toward Obama.

        What people are slow to realize is that the global elites have already taken control of America, and we are sovereign no more. They are in the process of fully implementing their system that they have so methodically and systematically set up for past decades.

        The NAU has been done by treaty, just as has the rest of the sell-out of America to foreign elite bankers. They are hoping most people won’t notice until it’s too late. Well, it may be already too late but, at any rate, the clock is ticking…

        Nothing is as it seems. We are living in “Alice in Wonderland”.

        They are no different than any other religious group. Someone comes up with a “revealed” message, starts a cult or religion around it, crystalizes a doctrine, and the followers will cling to that “message” even against all evidence to the contrary. We see this every day and everywhere.

        With libs, their gods are their leaders. They walk in lock-step, spout their ideology in the exact same buzzwords and talking points, and have their minds locked on this program to the exclusion of all other input.

        It is exactly the same as the Islamic jihad. They have a goal, vision, and everyone who doesn’t share that “vision” is simply to be run over and/or eliminated.

        Such wasted minds. They just can’t see it, either. It would be comical if it weren’t so tragic and dangerous.

        One of the problems with liberals (progressives) is that they have this vision of what the world should be like. That includes working only if you wish to work, everyone has everything they want without having to work and pay for it, everyone gets along with everybody, etc. Then they see someone else with the same general idea who touts himself as an “elite”. That appeals to their own ego. After all, if the other is elite and has that vision, then obviously they must be elite too. And anyone who doesn’t agree must be stupid for not seeing this vision.

        And every time one of them starts spouting off about the vision, I always ask them – when they say that all work will be done by those who really want to do it – if they are the ones who are going to clean all the sewer lines.

      What Obama and Pelosi want everyone to forget (and they do a good job of keeping quiet about) is that this nation was doing quite well until the democrats took over congress in 2006. It is always very easy to blame or praise the sitting president but it is congress that writes and passes laws. We tend to blame Bush for all this and the last election reflected that anger. However, we need to (in order to stop Obama and the dems) remember who was in congress voting for all these unpopular laws. We need to vote out ALL the dems and some republicans too. Then we need to not make the mistakes of the past. That is to say we need to attack the real problems of this country not the party that exacerbates them. Fix the country first!

      Jana, The Senate failed to pass a popular small-business bill last week that was full of Republican ideas and supported by both parties.It was key to re-energizing our economy. The business community was clamoring for approval of this bill. Who voted against this bill:the Republicans. They shot themselves in the foot again just to spite Obama.You really don’t care,do you? The Republicans have done this too many times lately to give them political credibility.

      One thing that annoys me about his rants against the Republicans is that he keeps saying that he wants to work with them. Then he refuses to meet with them and simply tells them to vote for whatever he wants without reading it. That isn’t working with them or cooperation. It is dictating and demanding instant obedience. Personally, if I was ordered to vote for something without being allowed to see what I was voting for, even if I thought I wanted it, I’d vote the other way as a protest against trying to do business that way.
