Christianity Not Accepted Here

Christianity Not Accepted Here

Expelled for being Christian. That’s the fate of two college graduate school students at separate universities that apparently should just put a sign out front that says, “Christianity Not Accepted Here.”

Julea Ward lost her lawsuit against Eastern Michigan University July 26. She sued after she was dismissed from a counseling program in March, 2009, for not affirming homosexual behavior as morally acceptable.

While in a counseling practicum course in the school in January, 2009, she was assigned a potential client who needed help regarding a homosexual relationship. Knowing she couldn’t affirm the client’s homosexual relationship without compromising her religious beliefs, Ward asker her supervisor how to the handle the matter.

The supervisor assigned the client to another counselor. The university then told Ward she would have to undergo a “remediation” program to help her “see the error of her ways” and change her “belief system” if she wanted to stay in the program.

She claims EMU faculty denigrated her Christian views and asked inappropriate and intrusive questions about her religious beliefs. She was then dismissed from the counseling program.

She appealed to the dean who upheld the dismissal. Now a Federal court has sided with the school.

A similar case is ongoing at Augusta State University in Augusta, Ga. There Jennifer Keeton was told her Christian beliefs are unethical and incompatible with the prevailing views of the counseling profession.

She must stop sharing her beliefs with others and change her beliefs if she’s to graduate from the program, the school has told her.

“A public university student shouldn’t be threatened with expulsion for being a Christian and refusing to publicly renounce her faith, but that’s exactly what’s happening here,” said David French, senior counsel with the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF), which is handling the cases for both women. “Simply put, the university is imposing thought reform. Abandoning one’s own religious beliefs should not be a precondition at a public university for obtaining a degree. This type of leftist zero-tolerance policy is in place at far too many universities, and it must stop. Jennifer’s only crime was to have the beliefs that she does.”

Requiring a change in a belief system to continue in a university program is an Orwellian concept and demonstrates a complete misunderstanding of the Christian faith.

You don’t “remediate” someone out of Christianity. Christian beliefs are rooted in Bible truths and faith in a Supreme Being. They are not simple ideas that you can pick which side you come down on.

More and more it seems the fascist elites in government and education preach tolerance of every alternative, abnormal, perverted or despicable, self-serving behavior that man can devise. But let someone profess Christianity and she is shown the door—or the losing end of a court battle.

It’s becoming painfully evident that, in this day and age, perhaps President Obama was right when he said ours is not a Christian nation. Certainly it won’t be if the elites continue to have their way.

My advice to Julea Ward is to transfer to a school where having to be pc isn’t a part of the degree program. Most universities blend ‘program integrity’ with pc and a government-approved approach, so if you encounter an issue that requires you to choose between your conscience and what is already pre-blessed by a school’s administration, you’re screwed.
That’s “education” in America, folks. Live and learn and avoid progressivism’s negative influences.

    • slickporsche

We have been doing like you say and that is what got us into this mess and place in time. You are dead wrong!!!!!

    • Raggs

SC …I like you but I have to disagree.

Why should anyone have to move to or run away from one school to find support at another?… Sooner or later you will run out of place’s to hide your beliefs. Is that what this nation has become?..

It’s not that easy to transfer between graduate programs, and often a lot of money in student loans is on the line.

What is the problem? She can get a job counseling for the Westboro Baptist Church!!!!d

I was given very good advice one day by a very good friend. “Mike, you can’t solve everyone’s problems, so you best concentrate on yourself and “have your own marbles” (try to do what is right). Seems rather simple, but isn’t it said somewhere that: “If each individual would try to do what is rght–then there would be that perfection in everyone, that we all wish we could ALL achieve!”

There are many many licensed and/or certified Christian counselors – which require a masters degree – in this country. This is a profession that people have the right to choose when they graduate. Thus, these women should have been afforded every opportunity to earn their degree and given clients whose issues are not faith-related, or Christian clients. As stated before, I am SURE if it was, say, a Muslim degree candidate, they would have been given Muslim clients or clients where their belief system is not compromised.

Yep, try talking to strangers, look at the distance look in eyes. They are clocked out!
I want to share this with you as inspiration. I went to get take-out at a very popular Mexican eatery. As I was waiting I noticed a little old lady waiting for her take-out. After a quick glance over my shoulder at her, I stood with my mind racing to figure out where I’d seen her before.
When I had my answer I immediately turned around, she was now standing, and I said…”You look like someone I know and love, can I have a hug.”
She didn’t hesitate, straight in to me she came. As she hugged me, only like a good loving Christian grandma can, she whispered up to me…”who do I remind you of?” I answered, “My grandma”.
Hug an old person today. They are still opened to it. They are a dying breed.

Great story, Deborah! Reminds me of one in my autobiography where I relate sitting in a restaurant waiting for my dinner when I saw a family sitting several tables away from me. The young man was a soldier in uniform (somewhat unusual around here) with a woman I surmised was his wife and they had a cute little girl not yet two years old. I said a prayer for them and I asked God to especially bless the little girl who was going to grow up in a much changed world from what we knew as children. Suddenly the little girl stopped eating and insisted that her mom take her out of the highchair which her mother clearly did not want to do. The little tyke continued to insist and eventually prevailed. Her mother took her out of the chair and put her on the floor, whereupon she turned around and ran as fast as her little legs could carry her across the room and past the intervening tables. When she reached my table she grabbed hold of my leg, the only part of me she could reach and gave me a big hug. I was clearly surprised and when her mother came and got her she said, “She must have mistakened you for someone else.” I knew however, that the girl felt the love of my prayer for her and was touched by it and wanted to return it the only way she knew how. I talked with the little girls parents for a few minutes and after finishing my lunch I went back to the lab feeling very special that day. I had learned this from one of Dr. Norman Vincent Peale’s books and have had adults turn and look in my direction when I have said a similar prayer from across the room or across the street.

The whole history of these books [the Gospels] is so defective and doubtful that it seems vain to attempt minute enquiry into it: and such tricks have been played with their text, and with the texts of other books relating to them, that we have a right, from that cause, to entertain much doubt what parts of them are genuine. In the New Testament there is internal evidence that parts of it have proceeded from an extraordinary man; and that other parts are of the fabric of very inferior minds. It is as easy to separate those parts, as to pick out diamonds from dunghills.
-Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Adams, January 24, 1814

Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law.

The catholic church is responsible for rewriting much of the bible and other attrocities. Do not trust the vatican

      • Deborah

The vatican is all some have left to guide them. If the vatican falls, holy war will be nearing its end and we’ll have stood and let it happen.
Christians are Christians, various belief, same God.
Just like patriot Americans, we have to know who is standing and who gives up without a fight. We won’t be allowed to live. Past wars with Muslims, children older than 10 were slaughtered with their parents.
You need more? There is more! Always more. Time for prayer and action nears. We’ve written to our law makers and look at how they’ve answered us.
The founders gave us specific instructions on how to handle the way things are today. Read your Constitution! It’s not that long!
The Supreme Court, look up Alito’s concerns to our illegal alien president. POTUS! He isn’t even Constitutionally eligible! Read the original and the amendment to the Constitution regarding the requirements of the president! BOTH parents must be naturalized citizens. Not to mention he was in a warring Indonesia and attending school…to attend school at that time was ONLY for the elite AND citizens of Indonesia. His admissions shows him muslim and citizen of Indonesia which did not allow for duel citizenship. No records on immigration showing him re-entering the US.
So…where the hell did he come from! Main stream media needs to come DOWN and never heard of again!

      • Richard Pawley

It makes little difference as he will be going back to Chicago in 30 months and according to what was discovered by the researchers in the Isaac Newton Bible Code Research Society, pretty much in disgrace for having wrecked the country. However, we have a chance in THREE MONTHS to slow this down by replacing the Congress who passed all his insane laws and spent enough money (wasted it I would say) that the result is going to be at least a tripling of inflation within the next few years. Yes, food and fuel will triple in this decade and some smarter people than I believe it will happen within three years. VOTE WISELY IN NOVEMBER AND WE CAN SLOW THIS DOWN. It is beyond stopping but we can slow down the destruction of the USA by voting wisely in three months.

Is this the same Vatican that protects all those pedifiles?

      • Deborah

It was the vatican that looked the other way. yes, but they have power that we need right now and since we have very few friends out there, we take what we can get!
The Pope is powerful. We turn from religion right now and we are SCREWED!

      • Doc Sarvis

        Deborah,
Tell the children who did turn to religon and got screwed.

      • Deborah

Society supplied us with enemies with our entire lives. Yes, those men have something to be judged for. I can only say to parents, protect your children. It is your place to see that they are safe.
Trust no man with your money, spouse or children!
I can’t help that predators infiltrated our churches. That does not mean all are like that. We need the allies! Better than rolling over and dying!

      • Doc Sarvis

        Deborah,
So being a Christian is not a prerequisite for beeing a creep, nor is it a prerequisite for being a good person. Would you agree?

    • Robin, Arcadia, IN

Norm… You have no proof. Your argument is lame at best.

  • Robert Esienbart

If any of these schools receive one dollar of public money, they are violating the separation of church and state by taking a position against these persons personal religious beliefs. Even private schools that receive public monies for say their library are effected. I would not put up with this if I were them. I’d take the issue to court. Personally I don’t think there is a proper interpretation of the constitution on the issue of separation but it is the law of the land now.

    • willrev

Right on. By these Universities receiving state and federal funds and DICTATING RELIGIOUS BELIEFS which are Constitutionally protected, then they are in effect ESTABLISHING A RELIGION based on their own beliefs they dictate this student must have. If government must not dictate a particular religious belief, then A GOVERNMENT FUNDED SCHOOL SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TELL ANY STUDENT WHAT TO BELIEVE OR NOT BELIEVE WHEN IT COMES TO CONSTITUTIONALLY PROTECTED RELIGION!!! I am a protestant Christian ordained minister. This is about the Constitution people! If we cannot take these rights away from inmates and force a Muslim or Jew who is in federal prison to eat pork and must serve an alternative food, then a government school has no right to force a Christian to go through forced “re-education” about her beliefs or they are violating the Constitution PERIOD! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! On the basis of what you can win!!!

  • Deborah

I do not understand! Some of you may never have been around “hard core” homosexuals. The first time I had what some refer to as a “flaming drag queen” was at work some 20 years ago. I asked questions and I got my answers.
He told me what salad bowling was, first time I’d ever heard of it.
He told me in deep detail about his sex life and HOLY COW it was unbelievable to me. Up until this point I though it was two men slappin peepee’s!
I did complain, and he was released. I did ask. I shouldn’t have. To be honest, this man looked really sick. I don’t mean sick as in the “eyes of the beholder” but sick as in ill.

This person was a temporary agency placement…he did his nails, talked on the phone and found every gd reason not to work. My work ethics were instilled into me long ago and are simply this, “You give your best for the amount of time and amount of pay you agreed upon. Cheat no one, don’t even take a pencil. Loyal to the company and its rules. And, most important, keep your word.”
I did complain, and he was released. I did ask. I shouldn’t have. To be honest, this man looked really sick. I don’t mean sick as in the “eyes of the beholder” but sick as in ill.
The colleges have gone this way for awhile now. We, the People, give billions to educate the poor in this fashion. Funny how Christians money paid for all this mess! We shut our eyes for to long.
Let me say this, about homosexuality, I don’t care what you do, where you go or how you get there as long as it doesn’t cost me a dime! (leave alone my Constitutional and Bill of Rights)
Now that the Christian churches have been raided our faith is close to falling. Gay priests have brought down the church and they’ve been interviewed bragging about it! The Pope called for Christian unity. Did anyone actually listen to him? Christians, within the last few months, have been driven in an Exodus fashion from the Middle East. Muslim countries participating in the mass extermination of Christians. Almost like shooting fish in a barrel.
We’ve shipped in Muslims at the speed of light since this illegal alien president took office, POTUS. They are in place to take down America! They are!
We are no longer desirable as people to the governing body, do we still pay for these programs? Face it, we’ve been used and we’ve allowed this to happen!
People better start figuring out where they stand with their neighbors. That Christian, Gun Toten’, Red Neck next door you’ve complained about for years…may just save your life.

    • Matt V

      Right on deborah

  • Terrie

I am a Christian and the bible says there will be days like this. Deception is everywhere. What is wrong is now right and the rightous are now wrong. We cannot even count on our own leaders to do right anymore. The Lord said to stay strong and have faith. We are not to have faith in our government but in God. However, the government wants us to forget about God and only look to them for our needs. I will never fall for this even if I have to live in the woods.

    • Matt V

Remember there will be a time when being cristians wil be a death sentence the bible says this too just read revelations and daneil

    • Deborah

We know where the deception is! We just have to figure out how to get rid of it! You vote for anyone in office…City, State and Federal (especially democrat) and you are a traitor to America herself!
We ARE Christians and WE will pay a high price for it.
Terry, GET YOUR GUN! You may need it for hunting or something :)

    • slickporsche

And you will need to seek refuge somewhere and soon I fear. It is progressing very rapidly.

  • vsop4u

if homosexuality is a choice, and the bible explicitly condemns it; then heterosexuality is a choice also, and if the bible is so expicit, why are others able to interpret it differently. i would never want those two nimrods anywhere near my children. the palpable ignorance of the history and origins of the bible of all you thumpers out there, is laughable.

    • Matt V

to bad your heart is dead

      • vsop4u

ooooo, you really got me with that one matt. and i don’t recall daniel prophesizing greek mysticism; or jesus(greek spelling) being a christian(which you can’t spell). you probably think the gospels were written by so called apostles(who were invented by paul)

    • Deborah

If you have a child that attends the public schools and she/he is in the 5th grade this is what they are told…
It is okay to be a homosexual. It is okay to experiment to see if you are homosexual…You can chose both ways. It’s your choice.
If you speak out against this, you are dismissed. It’s blamed on the feds.
Have you ever been WOW’ed with stories that tell of bus rapes or class room rapes?
They talk about sex with your kids and then say…go experiment…and you have no clue why these kids are acting this way!
      Now you have a clue.

      • Robert Smith

From Deborah: >>>You can chose both ways. It’s your choice.<<<

Doborah… When did YOU choose to be heterosexual? Is there any amount of money that might entice you to change? Is there any threat to your family that might entice you to change?

Gays are threatened by DEATH for their choices. Do you honestly believe that they made a "choice?"

        Rob

      • Robin, Arcadia, IN

Robert Smith… I believe that gays make their choice. Being gay is sin, nothing more, nothing less. I am not saying that there aren’t a lot of circumstances that went into their choice, but saying they don’t have a choice is making them unaccountable for their actions. A lot of what is wrong with the United States is this belief that accountability is no longer required, regardless of the situation!

      • Deborah

Rob, don’t place a gay bar next to a cowboy (s–t kicker) bar. I mean DAMN! Those that commit crimes against gays, do you truly believe that gays are the only targets they have?
The laws that apply to me, applies to you. Laws that apply to gays, don’t apply to me. Someone murders me…who cares. You, no matter what, will be considered a hate crime with more years to serve, or death.
Hello, I don’t feel sorry for you. You’ve taken more than your fair share and still wanting more.
You will never get a popularity award for being gay, nor will I for being straight.
You don’t want a draw, you want to belittle me to make yourself feel empowered. Don’t work like that.
Things will balance out again. If faith holds true, the greedy will gain nothing.

      • blv54

I think gays actually believe they were born that way but what they actually are is demon possessed.people can be infested with all kinds of demons even christians are harrassed by them but they know to turn it over to God.

    • Robin, Arcadia, IN

vsop4u… do you really believe what you posted? You think that Christians are Bible thumpers and you wouldn’t want them near your children? Wow… I would like to keep away sexual predators, murderers, rapists, and others that would do harm, but never Christians away from my kids.

  • Barbara Humphrey

These individuals were not expelled from school, they were removed from courses because their religious beliefs prevented them from fulfilling the requirements of the course. These students were not expected to change their beliefs, but simply to not impose their beliefs on others. That they could not do that–they could not and would not treat homosexuality as an individual characteristic, but rather as an aberrant behavior that was immoral and needed to be changed–meant that they were not qualified to provide counseling to people who are homosexual.

    • Ruby

But is this course/program a requirement for graduation?

    • slickporsche

YOu see Barbara, that is the whole point. They have a belief in god and are told they do not have that right. The constitution is very clear on that. This is just more of the same disintigration of our society, and nothing more. In addition to that, it is a proven fact that being queer is an extreme mental disorder, that is treatable in most cases. I also believe that it should be like in Africa, where it is illegal to be queer and they are jailed.

      • eddie47d

Your extremism is a mental disorder.

    • Deborah

It’s funded by our money. She had the right to her beliefs and should be able to refer these type of people to people that wishes to help them. I guarantee you this…I wouldn’t want a personal health care provider as a gay dude. I’ve notice they are more prejudice than any other people on this earth! Well, maybe extreme, radical muslims but…
I’ve lived through trying to get fair treatment from the “man” who HATES women, to the Flaming, drama, drag queens who would sell you out faster than a wall street crash!
I was slammed hard when I breast fed my son. I was told to stay home to feed him. Yet, go to a bowling alley on Gay league night. You get to see bare hinny and articles of clothing that emphasize their penis.
The drunker they get the more OUR kind become targets…either by your husband turning red from embarrassment or you because you are to this or that.
More than likely, you can find most of the ones with an education was educated with Christian money. See how grateful they are?

  • Mary L Nyquist

I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider consolidating your orgazinations with other like minded groups. My reason for asking this that my husband and I would like to be able to give to so many good causes, but we live mostly on Social Security and therefore we don’t have the money to spread on a lot of different orgazinations, but if there were just a few we could give a lump sum rather than little bits to a lot of groups, however, if you people got together there would be so much more strength . You know the old saying “United we stand, Divided we fall”.and at this time we need strong opposition to make an impact.

Our mailbox is stuffed full everyday with letters wanting money for different causes and it is amazing how many are supporting the same cause.

Thank you for you attention to this letter.

    My Best Regards,

    Mary L. Nyquist

  • Patti

Diana…it comes down to this….the Constitution protects these students rights to Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech….and noone, not even a University, has the right to infringe upon them. This is just one more progressive attempt at eroding our rights right out from under us….all Americans should be concerned and support these young people regardless of your own religion or lack thereof….it’s about Freedom and the Constitution.

  • Jimmy L. Shirley Jr.

I have been a Christian most of my life. But I will say this about that.
To some extent, this new anti-Christian bias is a backlash against lots of things that harmed in the name of Christ. Plus a misunderstanding of just what Christ stood for and what He stood against. Most non-Christians think we should always just fall down or bend over. You know, “turn the other cheek, judge not, the meek shall…, the golden rule, etc.” They dont know about what Jesus said to the scribes and pharisees and the very harsh tone He took to them as well as to the Jewish high councils. They do not know that He stood against sin which is explicitly spelled out by our holy book.

However, look at what has gone on in the Catholic church.

    • Diana

      Great Post, well said.

    • Matt V

yep the mother church and the beast

    • slickporsche

The catholic church is leading most of it people to the lake of fire.

      • Gene Miller

        Slickporsche

I agree Slick, The Catholic Church today is a disgrace to say the least. I don’t know of any other religious group with as many homosexual leaders than the Catholic Church. To make matters worse, the Pope and Vatican leaders have done a poor job of dealing with the situation. I once was a Catholic. Never again.

  • Jim Fishback

Calling Evil Good, and Good Evil. The Bible prophecied this but I wouldn’t have thought it would get into Mainstream USA, but it has.

May the God of the Universe have mercy on the Soul of this ONCE great nation.

    • slickporsche

We are all currently witnessing the death of America. She will succumb any day now. Her time is near.

      • Deborah

you finally got one right…well at least for the Christians…they’ll be forced out soon.

  • Diana

I see why she was dismissed. Even though I agree with her religous beliefs she has chosen a career which she would run into the sitation she did and I would ahve to side with with the college and/or her employer. Her religous beliefs have no place in the workforce. We gave up the right to prayer years ago, we can not go back. People are ostrasized for exercising their rights either way BY a christian or TO a christian. Bottom line is she brought her personal agenda to the work force/college and that violates everyones right regardless of who they are. What if she did not like people of color, or people with purple hair or old men that were bald. it is no difference. Keep your personal stuff at home, it does not belong in the workplace.
She should have known better. She would be a liability to any employer.

    • Jim Fishback

Good GOD ALMIGHTY Diane, Did you proofread your statement????
You say you agree with these lady’s Religious beliefs????

You give Homosexuality the same degree of respect as the color of hair or the lack thereof????

This is a CHRISTIAN Nation, Founded by Christian men and women, of Color. I am not white. I am Caucasion colored a little beige if you will. The background of this note is white. Jesus was Olive skinned, leaning to what we all call Black (Surprise). So I love Black people and I do not relegate their plight with that of the Queers who Choose to have Deviant behavior.

Get Real Diane. Julea and Jennifer will win eventually if they don’t give up the fight. Michigan and Georgia are absolutely wrong in their decisions.

      • slickporsche

Hmmm you must be real priveleged to actually meet Jesus. Were you listening to him or just examining his skin color?

      • Deborah

Apparently, Jesus appeared to man as man colors. From Native American to Asian…from Africa to albino land…
We better put color aside, WE ARE AMERICANS! Slave laws have been passed! TODAY! Americans are SLAVES! Laws have been signed, sealed and soon to be delivered!
Get your heads on straight! Those billy bad arses we stay away from, fixin to be our best buds!
They have been preparing for this for as long as Bill and Hillary and their drug sellin arses has been out there, poor like us with visions of COMMUNISM!
We’ve labeled people the way the lawmakers have seen fit. Now, Christians, it’s our turn. You either defend your beliefs and protect your GOD, or you let him die and you along side of him/her.
We’ve approached this all wrong. The politicians don’t “pick” a religion to talk about. Christians, quit trying to thump the bible in peoples faces! It makes you sound like horrible people.
Face current problems with the laws they’ve passed, our rights abolished. Keep it focused on the problems at hand and not the color of someones skin! Unless, of course it’s muslim…then you’d better pay attention! They shout, ON AMERICAN SOIL, “DEATH TO AMERICANS”…over and over and over.
I do not know how to tell the difference between a good muslim and a extremist…do you?
Their religion does not allow them to give up another Muslim to a non believer. They give aid to them and welcome them in, they don’t report it.
Yes, Christians! People of the God of Abraham. We are in a bit o’ pickle here.

      • Deborah

ummm..before someone brings it up…muslims are the son’s and daughters of Abraham too….just they are described as the warring tribes. They do share many beliefs as the Christians…only some chose to kill anyone that does not believe as they do.
I’d say Abraham should of rethought his desire to have children. To bad birth control and abortions were not allowed back then. I know, I know…that was bad, I’m sorry I’m so involved in this!

    • Robert J

      Diana

not to rain on your parade but what about the Muslims that sued their employers in NY and Ma so they can pray 5 times a day during their workday it would seem to me there is a double standard here correct me if I,m wrong

      • eddie47d

You are correct -so Christians should be asking for those same rights.

    • Ruby

Your way of thinking is exactly what brought us to this situation. You conform and decide “sobeit”. That’s the attitude that allowed Madeline O’Hare to win her suit to ban prayer in schools. Oh well, the Supreme Court says it’s unconstitutional; therefore, it is.

      Wake up Diana.

    • Matt V

Diane you are incredably insane for what you just said i hope god will have mercy on you.

      • Ruby

        Definitely drank some kool-aid.

      • slickporsche

I dunno man I don’t think it was cool-aid,it stunk real bad. I think it came from a jackass.

    • Rae Tatum MO

Diane, it seems to me that a person who needs counseling tries to find a good fit, a dr. that the person in need can connect with. The same can be said for the professional. If you can’t help someone, you send them to someone who can. Just because this student can’t help homosexuals does not mean she can’t help anyone. My OBGYN can’t do heart transplant but if I need that, he will send me to someone who can. This school had no right to kick her out because of one issue.

    • Rick Quill

Diana I disagree with you in regards to her dismissal being justified and the fact that their chosen career would require these two girls to have to serve people with alternative lifestyles. The fact is once they become licensed and go out into the wide wide world to pursue their chosen profession and are faced (if they are faced) with a patient dealing with homosexuality they could refuse to offer counseling service yet still suggest a counselor who does not object to such a lifestyle. Professional counselors, doctors, attorneys etc. do this all the time. If you go to a bankruptcy attorney for representation in a criminal matter he would, if ethical and responsible, refer you to a criminal defense attorney. If you have a bleeding ulcer and go to a plastic surgeon for surgical options that surgeon should refer you to one who specializes in gastroinstestinal surgeries. The same holds true for counselors…..I wouldn’t expect a marriage counselor to treat a child with an eating disorder.

The bottom line is the Universities are in the wrong and their views and/or policies in this matter is indicative of what is wrong with our education system. The progressives have been slowly eroding this country’s morals and ethics for decades and the primary avenue by which they have been accomplishing this is through our schools be it public schools or schools of so-called highter learning. When you have professors in college professing that the holocaust never happened then that school of thought gets passed down to the level of public school educators you know there is a much bigger problem afoot. The progressives started out by re-writing our history books to suite their agenda and now they are attacking our morals and ethics. Why do you think progressives are so against home-schooling and charter schools? Those alternatives would/could provide an education that teaches history as it has happened and not as the progressives would have you believe. These two gals should be allowed to stay in school and finish their studies without the school being allowed to rewire their thinking or beliefs.

      • WideRanger

Now, now, Rick. Mustn’t use common sense to muddy the waters. Common sense when out of style some time ago…it only confuses those who want to be confused and confusing. The bottomline, as they say in accounting,is that “Homosexuality is not a Family Value”. Some day I expect their ranks will be decimated by Aids and selective genetics. Until such time, they deserve counselling just as all ‘misfits’ do. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

    • http://ahalbert@smart-technology.net Allan Halbert

So if there is lying, cheating, stealing, or murder in the workplace, for example, one should say nothing?…and should leave religious principle at home? Ridiculous. It’s not a light switch. As an employer, I would, and did, prefer a strongly moral person to an amoral one any day. Accomodations of personal traits are always necessary with people. There are many worse traits to accomodate than religous values.

I am a federal prison chaplain. We are not allowed even to deny any federal inmate in prison the right to worship freely – Muslim, Jew, Christian, Catholic, Protestant, Church of Christ, Jehovah Witness, Mormon, Rastafarian, Wiccan, Nation of Islam, Buddhist, even Santeria. If these women take their lawsuit to FEDERAL COURT where it belongs, they would win on the denial of their constitutional rights. Inmates have won again, again, and again as long as the religion is a valid group. If the person was a Muslim or Orthodox Jew and they tried this, they would get their butts sued off in the University and lose. Christians don’t know how to fight hard enough. The University has no right to violate these women’s CONSTITUTIONAL FREEDOM of the guarantee to their religious beliefs. Would the program require a Muslim woman to uncover her head to pass the program? Both Muslims and Orthodox Jews believe homosexuality is a sin against God based on holy Scripture texts. All Abrahamic faith groups agree on this. This is a Federal issue and should be pursued at that level, especially since the universities receive federal education funds.

    • Matt V

      Right on Willrev

    • Deborah

I agree. But, Christians are no longer a concern because they’ve wiped us out. Just our bodies have to be cleared and we will be written out of history.

  • S P says:

Progressives are taking this current opportunity, window in time, to get in all the programs dear to their heart. While I believe the general public would never condone such things it is clear that the progressives are not going down the vote route. They have infiltrated our schools and churches. Take for example what has happened to the ELCA voting first to allow homosexual pastors as long as they remained celibate some years ago but now have voted to allow homosexual pastors to marry. It’s a drip, drip, drip,of ideas and we all need to understand that and stand tall for our Biblical based beliefs. That means standing up wherever you find this sort of thing.

    • Robin, Arcadia, IN

J.M.R. I agree that the ACLU is a lousy group. I think they should be held accountable to rally behind anyone who has had their civil liberties violated, not just people on the left. I was only trying to make the point that they are not what they pretend to be.

    • Matt V

The ACLU was started by a former communist

      • Robert Smith

        Which one was a commy?

        From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aclu

Crystal Catherine Eastman (June 25, 1881 – July 8, 1928) was a lawyer, antimilitarist, feminist, socialist, and journalist. She is best remembered as a leader in the fight for women’s right to vote, as a co-editor of the radical arts and politics magazine The Liberator, and as a co-founder of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom.

Roger Nash Baldwin (January 21, 1884 – August 26, 1981) was one of the founders of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). He served as executive director of the ACLU until 1950.

Many of the ACLU’s original landmark cases took place under his direction, including the Scopes Trial, the Sacco and Vanzetti murder trial, and its challenge to the ban on James Joyce’s Ulysses.[1] Baldwin was a well known pacifist and author.

Nelles, Walter (1883–1937).[1] A graduate of Harvard Law School, professor of law at Yale University, founding member of the American Civil Liberties Union during World War I.[2]

Nelles was a pacifist and frequently served as attorney in conscientious objector and civil rights violation cases. [3]

He served on the faculty of Yale University law school where he often taught courses on the history of labor injunctions. His offices of the then, National Civil Liberties Bureau in New York City was raided by the Department of Justice on August 30, 1918 by agents who seized all of Nelles’ files.[4][5] The raid was based upon invalid search warrants. Nelles was a close associate of ACLU co-founder Roger Baldwin[6] and served as the first chief counsel.[7] During his career he litigated many landmark cases of abuses of civil and constitutional rights.

Nelles is the grandfather of Amanda Pedersen-Norton a Washington, D.C. attorney and former chief mediator for the Food & Drug Administration, and great grandfather of Leif Pedersen-Diaz a South Florida television reporter.

So where is the ACLU? If they were ‘dismissed’ because they were Muslim, it would have made a huge stir with the MSM and the ACLU would have been all over it! I am so sick of the double standards! Our country is in deep trouble. All those who are apathetic to what is happening are to blame. Jesus even said that He would rather we be hot or cold than lukewarm; (for Him or against Him… not apathetic).

    • Doc Sarvis

It is not unconstitutional or against the law to be a Muslim or a Homosexual.

      • Robin, Arcadia, IN

Doc… What’s your point? It isn’t against the law to be a Christian either. At least not yet.

      • Sherian

Amen…..this is apalling….We really need to see this for what it is …an erosion of the American Way of Life…..ACLU will stand for Muslims but not for Christians….Maybe we need to get rid of the ACLU..because it picks who’s liberties it will stand for…………..

      • slickporsche

You have seen nothing yet! It is going to get to the point very soon where you will be persecuted for being a christian. Isn’t it written, that in the last days of civilization, christianity will be shunned and against the law? Will November put an end to this, or will the liberal movement grow to enormous numbers, allowing the Democrats to rule until the end? The thing is, if you really believe in the bible and have been taught the truth, then you know how this story will unfold. Are we wittnesing the last prophecies now? There is certainly alot to think about. Are you truly ready?

      • Stacy

remember the aclu sued against symbols of christianity. they have never sued to protect christianity.

      • Richard Pawley

Many are not aware that the ACLU was founded in the early days of Soviet Communism and supported by them as the best way to bring the United States into the fold of world socialism. People who have a strong belief in God are the only ones capable of slowing this down. The ACLJ (The American Center for Law and Justice) has won many cases against the socialist anti-God ACLU, even in the Supreme Court. Karl Marx was against all forms of law and was opposed even to marriage, and it his ideas that are so pervasive in the world today. The destruction of the United States has been going on for nearly a century. We have a chance to slow it down in three months but it will take a lot of patriotic people voting to do so. Even so I expect the inflation caused by all the money Congress has already spent to result in prices, especially food, to triple in they years ahead.

      • Diana

She wasnt dismiessed because she was a christian. She stated she could not do her job because of her beliefs so she needs to find a career where her beliefs do not interfere with her work or go to a christan school and work with christian companys. The homosexual person was not coming to her house for couseling. They were going to a place of employment, different laws apply. it did not matter if the person was gay, male, female, black, white. You can not be a biased counselor and expect to get a job couseling people-geesh, doest take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

      • Robert Smith

Diana said: >>> You can not be a biased counselor and expect to get a job couseling people-geesh, doest take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.<<<

Apparently Charistians aren't training to be rocket scientists.

The issue is: Employer, the college, said, "Do the counseling this way." The Christian didn't want to obey THOSE rules.

Who is it that is demanding everyone else change to accomidate their religion? The court rightfully said that everyone else didn't have to change.

if thats what you say then muslims cant go there either because in most muslim countries homosexuality is punishable by death. where are the liberals when muslims kill gays? nowhere to be found because the gay movement and womans rights are all afraid of the muslims but not against christians because they know christians dont kill gays or woman for what they are.

if you read the article correctly, the student went to her teacher not to refuse the homosexual, but for advice on how to handle the person. it was her school that removed her when she came to him/her for advice. the remedial course is nothing but a way for the school to indoctrinate and make more money. i have found most “required” courses have nothing to do with anything at all and in no way helps a person in their lifes journey. most of college is make do bull just to keep people employed who other wise couldnt make it in the real world

      • Doc Sarvis

My point is that homosexuals SHOULD be receiving the same counciling from qulaified councilors as heterosexuals receive.

      • Counselor

What is being ignored here is that homosexuality in men was and still is a symptom of molestation by a male at a young age. Even those pushing the Gay Alliance agree there is a coordination of this fact. However, they say that the children are raped because they are gay at the age of 4 or younger.

I am a public school teacher now. They tried to put the Gay Straight Club in and I spoke out against it. I almost lost my job. But through prayer it never received enough interest.

      • slickporsche

My point is Doc, homosexualality needs to be treated like any other mental disorder, until they are cured, or deemed incurable, and then locked up in the nut house, and the key thrown away.

      • Gene Miller

        Doc,
Homosexuality is a sick perverted way for someone to enjoy sex and is probably promoted by Satin himself. Did GOD tell the people of Sodom and Gomora that they need to see a psychiatric counselor? No! HE destroyed them. I’m sure you know where they are today.

      • Doc Sarvis

        Counselor,
To follow your argument – You ignore that heterosexuality in men is a symptom of someone who could perform rape.

        slickporsche,
You need to understand the term “mental disorder”. Homosexuality is NOT an example of that.

      • del

@ doc, yes doc being queer is a mental disease. Thats why people used to be in the closet (where they belong) until all the bleeding hearts screwed that up too and started accepting them. The fact that people are using politicly correct terminology rather than calling them QUEER and FAG are signs that this disease is being excepted more and more. No I call it like I see it. “My point is that homosexuals SHOULD be receiving the same counciling from qulaified councilors as heterosexuals receive”.

Knowing she couldn’t affirm the client’s homosexual relationship without compromising her religious beliefs, Ward asker her supervisor how to the handle the matter.

The supervisor assigned the client to another counselor.

In the real world, this is what would have happened….she would have referred the client to another colleague who was more able to help this person with his or her particular problem (regardless of what the “problem” is). What does a psychiatrist do when they have a client who is getting too emotionally attached do?…they referr the patient to another colleague. Once the supervisor reassigned the client to a new councelor, that should have been the end of it. Instead, the school decided to expell her because of her convictions…this amounts to religious persecution.
I hope that when all is said and done, that these schools are found guilty of illegal acts and pay a very large chunk of cash to these women (read millions) and that all involved from the school administration are censured and fired.

BTW, did you know that heterosexuals engage in more sodomy that gays ever will? It ain't got nothing to do with anything except that there are so many more heterosexuals who enjoy things like oral (and other) sex with each other.

Robin and Sherian, ACLU wasn’t even mentioned in this article. Maybe these students should get them to file a discriminatory lawsuit. Believe it or not the ACLU is for everyone’s rights even though they go about it in a strange way. Christians and homosexuals both need to stand firm in their beliefs and we’ll all get through this.

      • Robin, Arcadia, IN

eddie47d.. You are right. The ACLU was not mentioned in this article. That was my point. If this was a Muslim giving counseling and then removed from school, do you think they wouldn’t have been right there? The ACLU only serves the causes they choose to, and if it is a Christian who has their rights violated, they don’t come running.

      • Ruby

Let’s not forget when all this started…60′s…Madeline O’Hare…school prayer blocked. It’s been downhill ever since, and we’ve been asleep at the wheel.

I agree with Doc about Muslims. I was having the same thought.

      • Diana

I agree Ruby totally. We always prayed in school. Guess we are showing our age. But now it is different. My son was meeting a group at the flag pole to pray each morning, yes at a public school. He missed a few days at school because he was sick. WHen he returned the people would not talk to him and harrassed him because he was not present. He said he would not go back. It works both ways so now we keep our religous beliefs in our home and church. School, work-that is a different set of rules all together.

      • http://timodonnell.us Tim

It is unconstitutional to deny a person the right to exercise their religious belief.Especially when they are being told they HAVE TO believe something different.

      • Diana

Totally agree BUT she is the one who had the problem dealing with the homosexual person BECAUSE of her belief. She was counseling people not flipping hamburgers. If her faith said she was not allowd to flip burgers and she applied at a burger joint, should they have to accomondate her to stay on salad bar because of her religous beliefs?
haha, this is silly. Keep your personal stuff at home, period. No employer is going to face a lawsuit over someone else’s personal beliefs.

      • Gene Miller

Being a homosexual is against GOD’s law. In my book that comes first.
If you believe that being homosexual is ok, you will probably burn in HELL.

      • eddie47d

If God feels the need to punish homosexuals then He will do it not you.

      • Robin, Arcadia, IN

        Gene Miller… I agree…. God’s law trumps man’s law.
God gives many opportunities to those who do not abide by the Bible. If homosexuals choose not to turn to Him, then they will reap what they sow. We do not have to do anything. Last I knew they have the same God given rights we do.

      • Bert

Good point. Totally agree. The same way as the pedophiles and the people practicing bestiality. We all have the same rights.

      • wayne

Wana Bet if the students were Muslim this would never have happened?

      • del

No one said it was unconstitutional. What is unconstitutional is the special treatment/protection some groups receive over others. The law was written for all Americans regardless of gender, race or religion, etc. It is unconstitutional to deny Christians freedom of religion while showing favoritism to other special interest groups.

      • Diana

Agree but title 7 nipped that one in the bud.
Try looking into the Healthy Workplace Bill, it’s focus is to make the workplace equal across the board and has been proposed in 17 states. I do not know about religous beliefs but it does endorse equality in the work place but that still does nothing to assist the girl who lost her place in school over the homosexual issue.

      • Donna

No, it is not unconstitutional to be a Muslim OR a homosexual. Nor is it against the constitution to be a Christian.

We are a nation of people based on the FREEDOM to be anything we want to be and NOTHING should infringe on those rights! And, THAT’S the whole PRINCIPLE behind Christianity – to love others, EVEN THOSE DIFFERENT FROM US, as we would want others to love us.

Christians do not FORCE anything on ANYONE. We may talk about it and practice our faith. And, the Bible tells us NOT to judge others, lest we be judged.

Yet, WE are the ones persecuted by those in the courts and education system just because a person doesn’t know how to handle a relationship problem that a homosexual person has?

Are ALL councilors of the Christian faith? Were there no other to help that person?

What that college Admin did was wrong. And, so were the courts!

Hello!!! Did anyone bother to really read the articles surrounding this malfeasance? They were dismissed form the program because they would not publically renounce thier faith, attend ‘remediation classes’ and then tout the PC line!
I have been involved in the psych field for over 30 years and there are NUMEROUS TIMES when very well respected Counsellors and Psych professionals will tell a patient during the first meeting … “I’m sorry, but I cannot help you with this issue. Here are a list of others you might contact who will be better able to help you.” THIS IS VERY COMMON PRACTICE! The entire counselling session (therapeutic relationship) is based on empathy and trust of EACH other!

BINGO!……notice the line: “I’m sorry, but I cannot help you with this issue. Here are a list of others you might contact who will be better able to help you.” THIS IS VERY COMMON PRACTICE! followed by this line: The entire counselling session (therapeutic relationship) is based on empathy and trust of EACH other!

It’s only purpose is to destroy the country from within through promotion of communism, sexual perversion, and the destruction of families. The great irony is that if the country were actually taken over by individuals like Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Castro, or Chavez – the people most admired by the ACLU, those same people would see the ACLU as an existential threat and murder every one of it’s members. The ACLU was founded to defend communists and socialists. Not much has changed except the addition of perverts, child murderers (abortionists), and Islamo-Terrorists to it’s list of preferred defendants.

Christian are cowards. (I am Christian but no coward I am leaving a first line management corporate job even in these times) I cannot stand the policies and my convictions are coming in a direct confrontation with the HR department. When I leave I will tell them exactly why i left. My lagacy of work will speak for itself at their loss. Corporations and their control of policy is the root issue of our times. If we all left corporate and allowed corporate to be completely and utterly exposed the unabashed control of those without the beliefs of Judeo Christan values they would have no one to blame but themselves. A collapse under their own weight would change everything. We do not leave so we suffer and get exploited. I believe that is Good and right that we suffer because we are dissobediant from doing what is right, we deserve every single bit of it for standing by and watching the few who do stand up and not so much as even whimper a rebuttal. We have lost the wisdom and power of the holy spirit. It is not apparent in any of us anymore so we do not shine. We are cowards. The bible is right in saying that the many of will claim God but God will claim fewer than claim him. Unions have more power than Christians. That my friends is the root of and the real tragedy.

        Big G,
I agree that most Christians today don’t stand their ground for fear of ofending someone else and possible persecution. The Christians during the Roman empire were the real true Christians. They stood their ground and stood up for GOD. Yes they were persecuted, crucified, burned and fed to the lions, but they reaped the rewards of Heaven and GOD. You’re right when you say that most Christians today will never see Heaven and that’s sad.

This is only the beginning of tales like this. Morality has been slowly contaminated by those who never had any use for morality. It ‘gets in their way.’
If America exists for another generation, it is entirely possible that what we call religion now will be completely replaced by a ‘do as thou wilt’ mentality. That is, “anything goes.”
Logic and common sense are being strangled by a mentality that demands a Hitlerian, pc approach to reality. Maybe Mein Kampf will be the new Bible.
If you ‘fit in’ you’re OK. If you don’t fit in, your life may be the price you pay for that stand. Even Orwell didn’t allow for the breadth and depth of evil that is on the world’s horizon.

The bible isn’t everybody’s cup of tea (no pun intended).
Surely folks like you, who believe in individual freedom and minimal control by government, would not condone religion being forced down people’s throats by government or the “chosen” religious phonies.
Honor and moral decency, oddly, have little to do with religious doctrine. Some of the worst, most corrupt people I know wear religion like a suit of armor, to hide their true corrupt being.
The notion that an agnostic or atheist must be evil is pure BS.

“Some of the worst, most corrupt people I know wear religion like a suit of armor, to hide their true corrupt being.”

This is typical agnostic and Atheist rant, straight from the Alinsky playbook; obviously, if there is ANY sign of immoral behavior on the part of a religious person, all religion is condemned – it is a simplistic argument and demonstrates either a poor character or a lack of intelligence on those that use it.

Atheists condemn Christians and those of other religions because of their reliance on “Faith.” Yet, from my observation, basing your belief system on the scientific notion du jour requires just as much faith.

As “the theory of everything” continues to elude science, is it any wonder that the anti-religious amongst us have become so intolerant of the ideas of others that they feel justified in snuffing them out and denying those that hold them access to higher education?

If my foundational beliefs were on ground that shaky, perhaps I might feel the same way.

        About Hitler:

Hitler had to win over many people to come to power. Any of a number of individuals or groups might have blocked him at one point or another: German capitalists, the military, Pius XI, and the electorate, for instance. I would not argue that Pius XI simply put Hitler in power. Rather, he used the influence of the Church to promote a series of Catholic would be dictators, of whom Hitler was simply the last and most formidable.

Franz von Papen owned the largest Catholic newspaper corporation in Germany. He had the support of many highly influential German Catholics, but not of Pius XI or Cardinal Pacelli (who at this point was Vatican Secretary of State). Pius XI wanted the Catholic Centre Party dissolved in favor of the Nazis. There were many in the Party who wanted to keep the Catholic Party alive and rule through a coalition with the National Socialists and German National Peoples Party; they supported von Papen.

Intrigues rather than elections shaped Germany from this point forward. Von Papen was replaced by yet another Catholic Chancellor, General Kurt von Schleicher. Von Papen, aggrieved, is given credit for persuading Hindenburg to dump Schleicher in favor of Hitler. Von Papen promised the support of Pius XI to Hitler in return for Hitler’s promise to destroy Communism and make the Catholic Church the official German church.

      • Rebecca

How about in the Roman Empire when Christians (followers of Jesus Christ) were fed to the lions? The “Christians” who tortured and killed were not followers of Jesus Christ…they were simply called “Christians” because they were Gentiles or Non-Jews. The Spanish Inquisitions were carried out AGAINST followers of Jesus Christ. Also those who were called heretics for defying the Roman Catholic practices were tortured and killed. (Read Martin Luther’s Diet of Worms). Some of you folks need a history lesson because if we don’t learn it we are doomed to repeated it.

      • libertytrain

Thousands and thousands of Catholics were killed in the Holocaust – some were German, most were Polish.

      • Athrillofhope

Norm, give me a break. Hitler was an atheist. He only used the guise of religion to swing public opinion, much like Clinton and Obama do (not that these two were atheists, but they are not the Christians they pretend to be).

Hitler and Stalin and other fascist and marxist ATHEIST dictators have murdered well over 120 million people during the 20th Century based upon their beliefs. In fact, Hitler auto-biographically credit Darwinian-Evolutionary “survival-of-the-fittest” dogma as the inspiration and foundation for his attempted genocide of the Jews to “clean the blood lines” and create his superior Aryan Race.

How about Stalin and numerous other communist leaders? Hitler hated Christianity and said:
        Night of 11th-12th July, 1941:

National Socialism and religion cannot exist together…. The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity’s illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity…. Let it not be said that Christianity brought man the life of the soul, for that evolution was in the natural order of things. (p 6 & 7)

        10th October, 1941, midday:

Christianity is a rebellion against natural law, a protest against nature. Taken to its logical extreme, Christianity would mean the systematic cultivation of the human failure. (p 43)

        14th October, 1941, midday:

The best thing is to let Christianity die a natural death…. When understanding of the universe has become widespread… Christian doctrine will be convicted of absurdity…. Christianity has reached the peak of absurdity…. And that’s why someday its structure will collapse…. …the only way to get rid of Christianity is to allow it to die little by little…. Christianity the liar…. We’ll see to it that the Churches cannot spread abroad teachings in conflict with the interests of the State. (p 49-52)

        19th October, 1941, night:

The reason why the ancient world was so pure, light and serene was that it knew nothing of the two great scourges: the pox and Christianity.

Faith should be worn as a suit of armor to protect the soul from the evils of this world. It is so unfortunate that those without it so often are unable to see evil for what it is and thus allow evil to pervade their lives.

“The bible isn’t everybody’s cup of tea” This is true but nothing said in it has ever been disproved. Of course, no one would want religion forced down their throats by government or some particular church. That is why the founding documents of our country forbade any state religion but the atheists like the ACLU have extended that to include God Himself. There really is no such thing as an atheist. Those who call themselves atheists are most likely those whose ego is go great they can’t conceive of anyone greater than they are OR they just can’t be bothered. An agnostic is the more honest of the two as everyone believes in something and even Jesus said that he would rather one was for him or against him than being lukewarm, and he said it rather strongly.
“Honor and moral decency, oddly, have little to do with religious doctrine”. Yes and no. Honor and decency come from a sense of the divine within, that we are all the creation of the same loving Father. Religion is mostly man’s attempt to understand how it all works.
“Some of the worst, most corrupt people I know wear religion like a suit of armor”. This may be true but that doesn’t mean what they are hiding behind is false. It may be, as there are plenty of false religions and false gods (some 3,000 religious cults in this country alone) but that doesn’t mean that truth does not exist. Remember, Jesus criticized those who made a show of their religion and their giving. That may impress people but not God since he reads hearts. It is also why my books have a spiritual dimension to them.
“The notion that an agnostic or atheist must be evil is pure BS”.
No disagreement here but S C didn’t say that.and Jesus did say, “Seek and ye shall find.” If you haven’t yet found then keep seeking, you just haven’t sought in the right places and I predict that if you are sincerely seeking and not using imperfect people as a crutch then you have a great adventure in store. May God bless you on your journey!

My only comment is that if anyone needs religion and a preacher to prevent them from doing evil, then they are inherently evil and are hopeless.
If God knows what is truly in your heart, as Christians believe, then all the rhetoric and BS you profess won’t do you any good and a nonbeliever with a good and honest heart will prevail.

Norm, your snide and contemptuous remarks about those who believe in God speaks loudly about what is in your heart.

      • kate8

Besides, Norm, our traditional standards of what is good and what is evil are derived from……THE BIBLE.

Try reading the TEN COMMANDMENTS and then tell me which ones you disagree with. Thou shalt not steal? Thou shalt not kill? Thou shalt not lie? Thou shalt not covet? Oh wait. Liberals want what rich people have, and will lie, cheat, steal and kill to get it.

        Sigh.

      • http://winchesterarms@live.com AZ Rifleman

Well ,meant perhaps, Norm, But Wrong…

If your philosophy ends with the evolution and history of Man, you have no capacity to judge “good” or “evil”, and are therefore limited to the processes of what is “appropriate” as opposed to “inappropriate”, since these are relative to the judgment of man and the dictates of human society.

For those of you who are higher than that, “Children of God” then the wisdom of good and evil applies relative to elements of sanctity of the soul…Yes all are truely Children of God, but not even God is a dictator, and therefore will not remove the freedom of man to accept or deny his love. He gave us “Choise’ and the use of that impliment is up to each and every one of us.

        Look in the mirror, bub.

      • Richard Pawley

Norm, you are an intelligent man but some of what you believe simply isn’t true. That proves you are human, and the same could probably be said for 99.99% of the people on this earth, myself included. What some of us are concerned with is that you seem very unhappy and resort to name calling and ridicule, calling the little truth I know, “rhetoric and BS”. You don’t say you follow the ten commandments but the principles of them (not sure what that means) but if you follow the ten commandments your life should be happier than it appears to be. The ten commandments were given to help us to live well here, not to get us to heaven. When we die we go to be with those like us. That is why St. Paul even mentions that there are three heavens and some believe there is even more to the universe than that. The point is that the Messiah came to show us how to overcome this system (the world). He even said that the Kingdom of Heaven is not so much of a place you go to but is within you. You take it with you, if you possess it. No one can attain all this on their own. That is what the cults teach. Lucifer thought he could. Oh, he got his own kingdom (if you can call it that) but he did not prevail. As you say, God does read what is in our hearts but since he identifies with all of use, calling what I share BS or making fun of the Arizona Rifleman and others separates you from the wholeness and happiness you could experience. We don’t prevail, we grow or we don’t grow. Christians have a saying, “No one has it all together but together we have it all” I don’t know if you will go back and see this but I just wanted to tell you again, that while God loves you he also loves all of us. Those who discover this and cooperate with God and the Holy Spirit that He gives to those who accept His Messiah have a level of confidence and joy that can never be known by those who are just trying to make in on their own. David Dunning, a professor of social psychology at Cornell together with Justin Kruger wrote a paper called, “Unskilled and Unaware of It: How Difficulties of Recognizing One’s Own Incompetence Lead to Inflated Self-Assessments.” This can apply to most of us, and it behooves us to separate our emotions from what we know. Those who have experienced God in their lives, not just intellectually, but actually, have a knowing that cannot be gained any other way. Are they still human? Of course, but once you know that you know that you know, one’s understanding increases and ones fear decreases. Fear is one evil spirit that even affects most Christians although most don’t know it. This knowing by the way only comes when one grows in the spirit and usually begins when one has experienced what I call the second step in Christianity. That has happened to more than a hundred million in the past two decades and you can read about it in the book of ACTS just past the gospels. Don’t look at Christians as if you would look at Christ. You should be able to do that but if you want the unvarnished truth read the four gospels and ACTS which follows it. Then you will know what being a Christian is supposed to be like. This presupposes that you want to learn and grow (many want only to teach). God has given you free will and you can believe whatever you choose but as for me and my family we serve the Lord, and we choose truth. And so I’ll say it once again, may God bless you, and may you one day discover how much he really loves you. When that happens all who know you will know it, even without you saying a word, and when you do say a word, if will be helpful and positive not critical and divisive.

Actually, since the first century, the definition of “Christian” is one who is a footstep follower of Jesus Christ, obedient to his instructions, doing what he did, (that is, bare witness to the truth) and attempting to live up to the principles he taught A true disciple of Christ.

A true Christian is actually quite rare, as comparatively few who have claimed the title, “Christian” down through the centuries have even tried to live up to those requirements. That fact gives the lie to their Christian claims.

where do you atheist’s get your idea of good or evil, morality! But, just know that your belief is of no suprise, you were written about in the bible. In fact everything that is happening now is written in the bible, you cannot escape it.
My question for you is; If we evolved and just need to eat to stay alive, WHY DO WE HAVE TASTE BUDS? You see you were created!
How come I can talk all day to cows, dogs, monkey’s, or whatever about Jesus Christ (god) and they don’t get upset?
True freedom is this; being able to say “PRAISE THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!” Or say “THANK YOU JESUS!” If you have had difficulty saying just those few words try and say it again. If you can’t than you are not as FREE as you think you are. Your spirit is captured by the antichrist spirit whom controls you! And are not free!
This is coming from an ex-atheist, and talk of God should not bother an evolved from nothing person! The Bible is the only document that talks about these times and you are in it. Religion is usually offensive to non religious people because it’s almost always the Christian that is trying to FORCE their Christianity onto everyone else. No one ever said you can’t practise your religion in your OWN life, just let everyone else live their OWN life as they see fit! I thought your “God” said he would judge people on their judgment day, but that’s NOT the case, is it? Some Christians want judgment and punishment here and now, on this earth, NOT by their “God” in the “afterlife”, but by their own narrow-minded murdering infantile belief system!

      • Bluerider

        Bulloney!!!

      • Robin, Arcadia, IN

iowaheretic… You think Christians force their religion on others? Wait until the Muslims take over! You ain’t seen nothing yet!

      • Annie

What a load of rubbish…When your backs to the wall, the first name you call out is Gods, for help.

      • Gregg Pellegrino

You tell it Robin, Arcadia, IN!!! When was the last time a Christian offered you 3 choices: convert, live as a Zimmi who must pay a Jizya (Google those) read; live as a second class citizen who must pay a tribute for protection and as a sign of submission, or DEATH!? These are choices I wouldn’t want to make…

      • Robert Smith

From Jujubean: >>>Why is my religion so offensive to people who have no religion?<<>> And on the same point, why can they object to my religion and I cannot object to their lack?<<>>And, why can they tell me that I cannot practice my religion?<<>>This country was founded on religious principles.<<<

That's a diaper load. Where is ANYTHING from the christian bible quoted in our costitution?

        Rob

Reread the article the university faculty were basically requiring her to RENOUNCE HER FAITH! That is against the law, period.

      • John

You MISS the point entirely. Any person should be able to decide who they will work with by accepting or not accepting the client or job. Having that freedom violates the freedoms or speech and association the Constitution provides.

By asking “how to handle…” a particular situation in an education environment begs the question of the true role of our educators when they punish the question. Are they educators or brainwashers bent on control and manipuation. Education should teach how to best apply your skills and expand your aptitudes, not control or punish your personal beliefs.

      • Sheldon

If you reread your post and substitute the word “religion” for every instance of “education” it’s the opposite side of the same coin.

      • Robert Smith

From John who wants gays to change: >>> Education should teach how to best apply your skills and expand your aptitudes, not control or punish your personal beliefs.<<<

Shucks John, can gays live by your words too?

        Rob

      • Carl

NORM, you certainly are welcome to be an agnostic, atheist or whatever you want to be. Christianity cannot be forced down your throat as you complain. Someone testifying of their belief in Christ isn’t “forcing” anything on you. Most Christians will do nothing more than just witness to you of their belief and not badger you.
What the UNiversities are doing are forcing Their Secular Humanist beliefs on the students.
These counseling students are willing to refer people in deviant sexual behaviors to other counselors who accept their lifestyle. Why should any counselor be forced to counsel someone who they know they cannot help. A Christian counselor who counsels a homosexual to change his or her lifestyle can be charged with a hate crime. NORM, what planet do you live on? You have freedom to express your opinion, but you wrongly attack Christians on sites like this. Why aren’t you denouncing the Muslim religion which does force its beliefs upon other through force and threats of death?

      • William Barry

Obviously, Norm, you fail to see the progression of factors that indelibly connect agnosticism and atheism to true evil. Not believing in God invariably leads to not believing in the Devil (who is VERY real), and from there to saying “There’s no such thing as sin,” and “There’s no such thing as evil.” Nothing would please Satan more than deceiving you into believing that he doesn’t exist, believe you me.

      • http://naver samurai

Why abnorm, are we done with our tea bagging? By the way you sound, you must be an atheist or one of those who wear religion like a suit of armor. Obama bin Laden did this also during the election. I still remember him calling himself a christian and being busted on an interview saying he was muslim. Does he count also? How about Jesse Jackson, who proclaimed to be a preacher, but had a child on the side? How about Clinton? He said he went to church and was a christian, but he would be seeing many different women every week. I can see why being married to Hillary! Norm, be careful as you are walking down a road full of mines. On false step and you’ll blow yourself up. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      • http://ahalbert@smart-technology.net Allan Halbert

The article is about a graduate student being kicked out for not having correct beliefs.

      • Athrillofhope

No one asserts that the atheists (one who refuses to believe the knowledge of God that is created within them) are “more evil” than Christians. EVERYONE is hopelessly evil.

The only difference is that many, if not most, Christians and Jews acknowledge the true wickedness of the human nature and take steps to address it. It’s the ones who deny the wickedness of their hearts that take no measure against it. Atheists have murdered well over 120 Million innocent people during the 20th Century–at the hands of self-proclaimed atheist (and Christian and Jew hater) Hitler and the marxist tyrants of the USSR, like Stalin, Lenin, etc …

    • Diana

Most so called Christians do not practice what they preach.
WHen was the last time you helped your neighbor?
WHen was the last time you volunteered for any cause in your community?

      • http://timodonnell.us Tim

The true Crisitian does not boast of their actons. Most acts of kindness are done without any fanfare or attention from others. You need to get involved with helping people with a humble heart and then you will see who are the true believers. I went to Louisiana right after Katrina in 2005. I saw thousands of people, who left the comfort of their homes to help people they didn’t know. There were those who had suffed loses of their own, but they still reached out and helped others. There was a well known actor that really impressed me. when the news media came around, he went AWAY from the cameras and the rest of the team sheilded him from them. He was there for the people. Good actions rarely come to light because they won’t sell as good as bad news. Exercise of religion is a constitutional right. Those who say they accept All, rarely do.

      • rose tripp

christianity is all about love for your fellow man or woman. I love everyone, inclulding you of little faith. i do all i can to help all people.and there are many christains like me who follow the teachings of Jesus, so please do not classify all christians as not following their faith.

      • del

Yes. The Bible says we are not to place judgement. But, that does not mean we’re not suppose to determine what is right or wrong. It means you don’t have the right to tell people they’re going to Hell. Only God has that right, only he knows a person’s true heart.

      • del

The problem is..those of you who are not Christains expect those of us who are to be perfect. No one is perfect. We are all sinners. We are all just mortal men. Only God is perfect. If we we’re perfect, we wouldn’t need God.

      • JUJUBEAN

You are spouting liberal talking points and trying to FORCE people to practice what they already do as Christians. There is no need for us to proclaim to the world that we have helped someone. There is no need to advertise our humanity, we practice this. You’re only mocking what YOU do not understand. Where is your tolerance? You expect Christians to be tolerant of non-religious, but it’s never reciprocated. Go figure.

      • Gregg Pellegrino

        Judy… is that you!?

      • Carl

Diana, most of us Christians do practice what we preach. We also help our neighbors despite what you wish to believe. We give to help people who have lost jobs or homes or people who have suffered disasters. Think of all the Christian churches and organizations that give food away in America and around the world. Did you ever hear of OPERATION BLESSING by Pat Robertson’s ministry? That is just one of many that supply food, money, clothing, blankets, shelter and so much more in places around the world. How many other religions besides the Christian do so much good for the world?

      • Robin, Arcadia, IN

Diana… I am sorry you don’t seem to know about true Christianity. You must follow a different religion, heh?

Could one of you Christians explain the trinity to me. I’ve read Thomas Aquinus and frankly I don’t quite get it.
After that let’s hear about virgin births.
Then why man and chimps have 98% DNA match.
Oh yeah, how did Noah get billions of animal pairs on his little ark?
If you want to pray (or is it prey) for something, why not start with knowledge and truth.

I repeat the words of Mr Jefferson yet again:

      • http://ahalbert@smart-technology.net Allan Halbert

Atheists try to undermine Christianity by pointing out that Christians are not perfect. That’s transparent, and misses the point. Christians are the last to say they are perfect. The point is the principles of Christianity is what matters. What are your principles?

      • Norm

        Allan Halbert
        Sin.
        Be forgiven.
        Sin again.
        Be “reborn”.
        Deny reality.
        Destroy your enemies.
        Be forgiven.
        And so it goes.
        God bless you.

I don’t know who you are norm? All I know is that what you just said makes no sense at all. My husband must be right about you. You’ll say things just to cause hatred towards your fellow man. And jus who are you to say that if you destroy someone you’ll be forgiven?

If you have a Bible, please read this:

Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? Thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?

Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? Thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?

Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonorest God?

For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles, through you, as it is written. Romans 2: 21 – 24

This sounds like you. You are a hypocrite and blasphemer. You shouldn’t talk about God, because you don’t know him. You only know yourself and those ignorant raves against everything under heaven. You are nothing but a very little man and that’s all you will ever be, until you come to the Lord God and his son Jesus. I know in my country the biggest religion there is Buddhism, but I don’t believe in bowing to an idol made of gold. Sounds to me that your “god”, if you want to call it that, is yourself or this very small person president that is in D.C. now. You poor soul. I’ll pray that God forgives you and that you one day will see the light.

      • John Cobb

Are you a Chimp? Where are the hospitals and houses and cars bilt by chimps. Surely you know better than most of what you are saying. There are all kinds of teaching out there that claims to be christian and is not. The Bible says in Romans 1 that man is without excuse because there is plenty of evidence of God in the universe.

I find it strange that you compare a belief in Christianity with the alternative of Hitlerism and Mein Kampf.
Hitler was born Catholic, lived with the full cooperation of the Catholic church higher ups, and died a Catholic. He repeatedly stated his motives in his book “Mein Kampf”, that he is “doing the work of the Lord” regarding his planned elimination of the Jewish race.
Furthermore,he was to this date, never excommunicated from the Catholic Church.

There are many deranged people out there that use religion as a means to manipulate others. Lot’s of people call themselves Christians but, their actions speak differently.

      • iowaheretic

When Roman Emperor Constantine conquered Rome, that was really the start of modern day christianity – and the lies and cover-ups of where it all really came from. He was so ruthless, he would have made Hitler look like a Boy Scout! The Founding Fathers made America a SECULAR nation ( no matter what Newt Gingrich says ) and if people would just stick to that and practice their own religion without having to inject it into government and everyone else’s lives, then Islam would never have thought they had a standing in our government either! But then I think most of that is just BS, and just another scare tactic on the part of Christianity.

      • http://naver samurai

We are a christian nation and was founded that way by our christian founding fathers, who believed in nature and nature’s GOD! Don’t forget that in 1889 the SCOTUS ruled that this nation is a christian nation. You can also see references to this in Washington’s Farewell Address, many quotes by our founding fathers, etc. I don’t know what faith you are, but I think you need to quit bullying christians and mind your own business. You sound like a stupid lib, commie, dem, and atheist. If you are, I really hope that you are prepared to see your lord satan when you die.

        Our “Christian” founding fathers:

        Benjamin Franklin:
The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason.”
        -in Poor Richard’s Almanac
        Thomas Jefferson:
“Shake off all the fears of servile prejudices, under which weak minds are servilely crouched. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call on her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear.
        – letter to Peter Carr, Aug. 10, 1787
        James Madison:
The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe in blood for centuries.”
-1803 letter objecting use of gov. land for churches
        Johm Adams:
“I almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved– the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced!”
-letter to Thomas Jefferson ohn Adams:
        Thomas Paine:
“Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness, with which more than half of the Bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we call it the word of a demon than the word of God. It is a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind.

Seems pretty hypocritical of the schools and the counseling profession. They proport to be accepting of the values of others, unless those values are Christian which holds to a value system of things being right or wrong. In a relativist world nothing can be right or wrong.
