With One GOP Vote, Senate Committee OKs Kagan's Nomination

July 23, 2010 by

With One GOP Vote, Senate Committee OKs Kagan’'s NominationThe Senate Judiciary Committee voted Tuesday to approve President Obama’s nomination of Solicitor General Elena Kagan as a Supreme Court justice to replace John Paul Stevens who is expected to retire later this year.

The only Republican to break the ranks with his colleagues was Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). The remaining GOP members of the committee have repeatedly expressed their concerns about Kagan’s limited legal experience outside of academia and her political involvement during the Clinton administration.

Obama praised the vote, saying his nominee is “one of this country’s leading legal minds,” and expressing his belief that she will be a fair and impartial Justice.

However, many conservative organizations—such as Family Research Council (FRC)—disagree with this assessment.

Its president, Tony Perkins, commented that Kagan’s ascent to the Supreme Court will endanger constitutional governance.

“Today’s vote ignores Elena Kagan’s troubling record of impassioned liberal activism and disregard for the law,” he said, adding that she “has trampled every obstacle standing in the way of her pro-abortion, pro-homosexual agenda, which calls into question her ability to be an impartial jurist.”

Earlier this month Perkins testified against her candidacy, focusing on her ban on military recruiters when she was dean of Harvard Law School because of the army’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.ADNFCR-1961-ID-19901274-ADNFCR

This a tragic event for America nad freedom but not unexpected. If she proceeds to perform on the court as we believe she will the Constitution does provide the means for her removal if Congress has the courage to do so.

    • Smilee

      Dream on, Sucker!!

  • BigIron

Lindsey Graham is a perfect example of why Republicans are held in such low regard by true Constitutional Conservatives. Why do they allow him to call himself a Republican? He should be excommunicated from the party if the Republicans hope to regain anything of their roots. With the Tea Party they have a real chance to do so if they WILL!

Allowing LG to remain in the Party means the Democrats have an “uncontested seat” even with two choices on the ballot; the election just becomes a “runoff” for the Democrats. Dump the Rino and get a real Republican! A “skunk” (Rino) by any other name (Republican) still “stinks”!

    • George

I disagree. Lindsay Graham may be one of the reasons there may be hope for the Republican Party. I happen to agree with him on this one.

      • Smilee

        Me Too!!

      • Norm

        Me three!!

      • Michael J.

Hmmm, The Three Stooges heh? Hey Moe, hey Larry, hey Curly, why don’t you go invent a fountain pen that writes under whipped cream?

      • Smilee

Even if you were right we would still have more intelligence than you have!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…
You said that just like the arrogant-elitist piece of progressive waste that you are.

I would be willing to bet that Mike’ “morning leavings” are more intelligent that the 3 of you combined!

      • Rod the Other

        George…
The only hope that Graham gives the REPUBs, is the hope of holding the ground that the DEMs have vacated to become progressives. HE IS A PROGRESSIVE-CANCER AND HE IS NOT IN THE SLIGHTEST A CONSERVATIVE.

  • Steve Dolyniuk

As someone who does not believe in either Party, all I can say is, VOTE THE JERKS OUT! It is time we quit voting for the lesser of two Evils.Until the people running for Congress learn to quit lying, we need to make sure they serve only ONE TERM. Both parties are POWER MAD, Money Hungry, Crooked Cheating Liars. They find it easier to climb a tree to tell a lie, then stand on the ground to tell the truth. Anyone thinking they care about the USA or the Legal Citizens, really don’t have a clue. Then there are people like Norm, who says Obama has never lied. He shouldn’t be allowed to vote period. That goes for anyone who always votes straight ticket !

  • http://Cox.net Janice Bonnecaze

I thought this was about Kagan. This woman practiced law for only 2 years. She was Dean of a law school which is an administrative position. Other than that, she had held political appointment jobs. Instead garnerin the experience necessary to do a good job, she was pandering to the leftists. She totally lacks the experience to do the job….and, scary, but a lifetime appointment. Nominated by a jerk who totally lacked the experience to be president of the US.

    • George

Apparently no one is experienced enough for any position.

A student graduates with a masters degree in orchestral work. From the time he was 13 he had directed choirs and played the organ as music director in various churches. At the time of his graduation he was the chief musician over a staff of 12 at a large Episcopal church in the Los Angeles area. He sent out his resume to orchestras around the country. He could not get hired even as an assistant. Why? No experience.

He decided to create his own and started a chamber orchestra after getting several thousand dollars in seed money. He built that orchestra to become an award winning group.

He could have done that with any of the orchestras that he applied with. They wouldn’t have it because he lacked experience. Their loss was Pasedena’s gain.

Experience is good to have, but it does not necessarily guarantee success.

      • Rod the Other

        George…
So you are equating the risk of an inexperienced conductor, to the risk of having inexperienced national leaders?!?!?!?!?

Please remind me of the last time that a dictator lead nation sought to infiltrate and destroy an orchestra!
You might want to consider the FACT that not only are peoples well being at stake, but their VERY LIVES ARE AS WELL!

    • Smilee

      You sound Angry!!!

      • JC

Most of us are…keep you’re head down Obama boy.
There is some “serious” change coming your way.

  • fatmansplicer

OBAMA LIED SO MUCH IN HIS CAMPAIN THAT HE SHOULD BEABLE TO BE IMPEACHED JUST FOR ALL HIS OUTRIGHT LIES!

    • Norm

Bush never was never impeached for his lies and they were whoppers.

Obama has never lied as far as I can see. He tried to do things that the party of “no” prevented him from doing. He tried to cure the Bush depression, but that’s going to take time.

      • KATHLEEN

Hey you who’s STILL blaming Bush . . . you can’t see where O’Bummer LIED? Let’s start with transparency . . . and the stimulus bill . . . and health care bill. He’s lied about ALL of those things! Kool Aid causes brain damage. Find another drink!

      • Smilee

No he didn’t, for example the health care bill was more transparent than any I remember and I have following politics daily since the mid fifties, Ever remember a president who met before cameras with the opposite parties caucus to discuss the a bill and then spent two days in negotiations with leaders of both parties on camera for the public to watch, to start with he went to capital hill and met with the republican house caucus and the minority leader before the meeting emailed his members saying we will not agree with anything he says and they never did just NO NO NO and in committeemen (which were all televised) the republicans proposed oodles of amendments and in the final law they have a little over two hundred amendments were accepted and are now a part of the new law. Lack of transparency is the position of the far right wing conservative propaganda mill and of course they always tell lies and it appears you accept that over fact. There are more examples I won’t bore you with more.

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…
Are you refering to the transparancy of the bill that, “had to be passed to know whats in it”? That BO said would be posted online for at least 5 days before the vote, so the public could review it? Or the transparancy of the coertion used on the GAO to score the bill as being deficit neutral, then rescored it higher once the bill was law?

        YOUR SUCH A TOOL!
So youv’e been watching politics since the 50′s huh? Where you sharing your popcorn with cloward & piven? Your a 60′s radical aren’t you? or maybe your a teacher to those 60′s radicals?

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Abnorm,
how could the party of no, as you call the repubs stop Nobama from doing ANYTHING??? he had a super majority and couldn’t get HIS party to agree with him!!! He almost always has some of the dems vote against him and you call the repubs the party of no??? Get Real!!!

      • Rod the Other

Joe H….Come on joe, you just don’t get it….Obama is being oppressed. It is because of obstructionists like you, and me, and other right thinking individuals that understand unintended consequences are damaging.
If we would just stop oppressing the most powerful man in the world, he would be able to show us a better way. A way where everyone gets to be a king or a queen, a world where we all ride ponys to work at the unicorn factory and love our strawberry scented paychecks that we hand over to him and wait for things to get even better.

We just need to better understand that it is not the actual results that matter….what matters in intentions. Even if that means living like a 3rd world country….trust him…he doesn’t know what he’s doing, but he intends well….You oppressor you!

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Rod,
You have truly shamed me. i think I’ll go slit my wrists……NOT!!!!!

      • Smilee

Republicans are 100% NO, a few democrats are, a super majority in the senate is 60, the democrats currently have 59 and the republicans in the senate have stopped them by filibuster 70% of the time ( a record) up from the precious record of 28% seldom has it gone over 10%, no matter what you say they have as a matter of record and in lock step said NO. Stop distorting the facts joey.

      • Rod the Other

I find it funny how you propagandists focus on how the REPUBs are saying NO, but you totaly disregard what they are saying NO to.
The things being said no to are not in line with the Constitution or Conservative thinking and this is why the REPUBs are the party of no. Being a TRUE Conservative, I am glad to see them FINALLY doing something to protect the American people and the integrity of the Constitution.

I find it shameful that they have voted yes on a number of things, like the financial reform bill that is likely to be the DECIDING nail in Americas coffin….I bet you got all warm inside when I mentioned Americas demise….right Smilee?

      • Smilee

Sorry Rod but I believe you and your type (Conservative far right wing radicals) will be responsible for our demise if you got enough power, that is why in the last half decade Americans voted the way they have to prevent that, Your type are the ones trying to destroy the integrity of the Constitution and the sad part is you do not even no you are doing it as you are all totally in the dark about our realities and your failures to understand what the constitution is and how it works, actions based on ignorance can be very destructive and your type are totally ignorant.

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…
I’ve got to give it to you, you know ignorance well and when you call me ignorant I find it reassuring. I would be truely alarmed if I found myself agreeing with you.
After all, how ignorant do you need to be to state, “Equal justice and Social Justice are the same thing”? I know what the Constitution stands for Smilee, and you have proven over and over that you want to interpret it to mean something than other than what is does. It may just be your lack of ability to comprehend the written word, as you previously demonstrated. You should wear a helmut when your riding in the car…We don’t want you to hurt yourself or someone else.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Smelly,
the word used is was! Before brown was elected, he had a super majority!!! Read and COMPREHEND!!! That progressive worm has done more damage to your brain than even I thought!!!

      • Christin

Joe, the Conservative Republicans are the party of “HELL NO!”
we aren’t going to go for your UNCONSTITUTIONAL MARXIST BILLS/ LAWS congress and mr. o!!!

      • Smilee

Sorry, you not going to have a choice in the matter!!

      • Rod the Other

Why Smilee…IS obama going to pass a law against it….I beleive he already has a title….The “fairness Doctrine”.

      • kate8

Smiley, why is it that you libs think it is your right to take choices away from everyone who doesn’t agree with you?

What’s wrong with all of us having choices to live the way we see fit?

Nothing is ever enough for you libs. You aren’t happy until everyone is under your control, FORCEABLY if need be.

No wonder you guys have such an affinity for Islam.

      • Carl

You can call it a Bush depression if you wish, but it was more of a recession until Obama took charge and spent many, many trillions more dollars to save his Wall Street bankers, the United Auto workers, The SEIU, and foreign friends. Now he is giving our money to Kenya to influnce getting abortion law on their books. Really nice guy in your eyes, I suppose. But just wait until this Obama Depression gets worse – and it appears it will with the massive tax increases in 2011 coupled with high unemployment except in the government sector.

      • Rod the Other

        Carl…
Even after all the democrat spending Bush let happen with the pelosi-lead Congress, he just can’t match Obama.
Deficit Bush left office with APRX $200bil….Deficit after 1st year of OBAMA over $1.3tril…..NUF said!

      • Carl

Norm prefers to call this a Bush depression even though Obama has been in office for 18 months. It was more of a recession until Obama took charge, then spent Trillions of $$$$ to save his Fannie, Freddie, Wall Street bankers, the UAW, SEIU, and foreign friends. Obama’s sending money to Kenya to promote abortion. But just wait until this Obama Depression gets worse – and it appears it will with the massive tax increases in 2011 coupled with high unemployment except in the government sector

      • Rod the Other

most economists that understand how the Great Depression occurred agree that the recovery would have been MUCH faster had it not been for the SOCALIST policies of FDR. We have had a number of occassions throughout history that have resulted in recessions. The only time these recessions have become depressions is when Federal policies like FDR’ are enacted. Every other recession that was responded to with TAX CUTS resulted in the economy BOOMIN back….Can you say “roaring 20′s”? We had a recession after WW1 and after Wilson was bounced out of office and TRUE CONSERVATIVES were in power, taxes were cut and the 20′s roared!

      • Norm

        Carl
The Hoover depression lasted from 1929 until the 1940′s. The government spending for the war (ww2) effort, finally cured it.
Why would you expect Obama to cure this one in his FIRST 18 months. We are back from the brink. Profits can and have been made in the stock markets by the wise and lucky.

      • Rod the Other

        NORM…
Once again you need to learn true histroy and not the REVISIONIST history that you progressives so love.
Under Hoover it was a recession. It didn’t become a depression until FDR got involved and placed socialist burdens on the American people (a quick aside note, under FDR it was a Federal crime to own gold). And, what brought us out of it in the 40′s….1946 to be exact, was TAX CUTS AND REDUCED GOVT. SPENDING brought about by the Conservatives!

      • Smilee

Rod, Someone sure snowed you as you are totally incorrect!!!

      • Michael J.

        Norm,
Back from the brink, heh? Strange thing that financial guru from your side of the funny farm, Paul Krugman said this recently.

Krugman, reading the Political tea leaves here and in Europe, has thrown in the proverbial towel and predicted that America is heading into a Depression to rival the one we had in 1937

      • JC

It was government intervention that kept the depression going for so long, and the Kenyan is trying to do the same thing. maybe worse.

      • Smilee

OH, Carl admit it or not Bush first in Oct 2008 and Obama second put the brakes on the recession and slowed it down and now it is slowly reversing itself, Did you see Ford’s Profits this week quite the turn around for them over the last decade and GM is following suit after going backwards for 25 years. Isn’t interesting that both parties agreed on what was needed and after the election the republicans took a about turn and changed their limited vocabulary from yes to no, pure politics, just to get the votes of the likes of the ignorant, like you. You people who do not under stand how the economy works always distort the reality of whats going on.

      • JEM

Good grief Norm! Are you blind or from another planet???

      • Norm

        JEM
From some of your comments I think I’m on another planet or in the physco ward of an mental institution.
Average second graders have more sense than you do.

      • Smilee

Norm, I think the psyco ward is the closest to reallity

      • http://?? Joe H.

Thanks for sayin what I was thinkin norm. I think BOTH you and Smelly are posting from a mental institute!!! At least that’s where you belong!!!

RINO Elitists and the Ruling Class

I don’t like Senator Lindsay Graham (R-SC) any more. Actually, I don’t trust Senator Lindsey Graham any more either. Like John McCain, Snowe, Collins, Murkowski and others, he has clearly sipped the tainted Kool-Aide from the fountain of political elitism; that sincere belief that only the elites, like him, can really know what is best for America and Americans. “Trust me, I’m from the government!” It’s his closet fascist beliefs that have enable him to go along with the Socialist-Progressives agenda of wealth distribution and meddling control of every aspect of American’s lives, that is quickly making the Republican Party a simple clone of the Democrat Party; but worse, is bringing America closer to the point of dissolution and probable conflict.

Senator Graham has demonstrated he does not intend to carry the conservative banner that believes in limited government, lower taxes and more individual freedoms as given to us by God and codified in our Constitution as natural rights. From his own mouth issue silly nonsense supporting the current governments continued pursuit of unsustainable spending programs including the asinine climate control issues based upon discredited theory’s of global warming, as well as amnesty for illegals. What does he possibly think granting American citizenship to illegals will do for the Republican Party?

The recent series of primary wins by candidates supported by TEA Party’s around the nation has clearly alarmed Senator Graham and those other RINO Senators that think like him. This has caused the good Senator to castigate those concerned Americans, as “out of touch” with reality. It’s clear who is out of touch with reality, It’s Senator Graham, McCain and the other Republican elitists in Washington. Graham silently supports Democrat economic policies that are unsustainable. Because he has no answers to criticism directed against him for his positions (and his votes), he does what Liberals do when they can’t win an argument on the facts, he resorts to name calling and trying to reduce his detractors to the level of mere innocents who could not survive without their guidance. “Leave it to the professionals”, he asserts, to take care of your legislative business. We know best! Really, we do!

Sen. Graham was one of nine GOP Senators who voted for Sonia Sotomayor to become a Supreme Court Justice after she assured him, during her confirmation hearings, that she respected the “Heller” decision on the 2nd Amendment rights for citizens to keep and bear arms and then promptly stiffed him with a dissenting opinion in the “MacDonald” case. Now comes Elena Kagan seeking confirmation of her liberal views to sit on the Court and Senator Graham has indicated he will support her as well!

Further alarming is Graham’s support for other taxing vehicles which will, when all the ‘progressive’ thinkers of both political party’s come together to agree, will result in the hand of government being shoved even deeper into our pockets to extract even more “voluntary contributions” for enriching the governments depleted coffers. Let’s cut to the chase, shall we? Graham is a RINO. So is John McCain, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski. They are desperate to stay in office as part of the ruling class for their own power hungry reasons. To perform as statesmen is beyond their comprehension or ability. America’s education is sorely lacking and these people need to be removed, re-educated, then turned back out into society so they to can enjoy the misery they have helped bring to us. Go get ‘em!

    • kate8

ByG, I don’t think Lindsey Graham and vast majority of those in Congress really give a rip what is best for America. They care about what is “best” for themselves, and that is to help further the agenda of the global elite controllers.

A financial insider was talking about how many “accidents”, poisonings and such occur among those who have any inclination to stand up for Americans. Our politicians have all jumped ship, and now ride the waves on the PostUSSNWO.

    • bbstacker

By George: Great post! You, Sir, are a great Patriot who knows very well what he is about.

  • Jack

RINO Lindsey Graham has to go. Also included are Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins and John McCain. To this point, I am also disappointed in Scott Brown. I guess he should be given more time to see what he does.
Getting back to Graham, he is one of the most liberal progressives now serving in congress. Can’t figure out why he wants to continue using the “R” after his name.

    • http://?? Joe H.

      Jack,
why should we give Brown any more time?? that’s the same thing the progressives are saying about Nobama and look at what that has gotten us!!

    • Rod the Other

      Jack…
He uses the R for cover… If he was open about his true beliefs and objectives he wouldn’t be able to get those uninformed votes that put him in office.

  • http://msn Joe Melton

Well we now know he is not a REPUBLICAN but just like all the other people who support Obama he is a DEMOCRAT, and should be kick out of the REPUBLICAN patry. they should be some way to put a time limited on the years a person can served as a Supreme court judge. It seem once you on the Supreme court you are above the law of American. Why don’t the people get a change to vote on them. No one should be apported by the President and become a Judge of the Supreme court by some Seante committee. They should be approve by them and then let the American people vote for or agaist them. No one should ever be appointed to such a job without the vote of the American people.

    • Henry Langley

      AMEN !
That is WHY I QUIT giving donations/contributions and became an Independent!

      • George Halepis

        Better yet, become a Libertarian!

  • Ed Weirdness

As far as I know, Graham isn’t up for election in November. What we must all concede then is that we have to elect enough Conservatives and Independent Republicans to diminish the threat that this self serving mad man Lindsey Graham represents. Doubtless, we’ll need to elect a significant Republican majority in both houses to send this Administration and the Democratic party the appropriate message. Likewise, with significant turnout, we may also be able to send the RNC and GOP a message that even these poor morons can accept, that message being the the will of the people will hence forth be the guidance in our governance. Pragmatically speaking, we must stop our present political disaster, before we can begin the process of taking back control of our government. Republicans however; should not allow themselves to get too comfortable once we’ve replaced the asylum patients presently running Congress. Owing to our two party system, we the people have no choice but to vote Conservative Republican and end the threat to our social, economic and environmental interests posed by this President and the self serving liberals and RINO’s in Congress. This fact should not be mistaken by either party that we will ever again allow them to usurp our will, or ever again undermine our interests.

    • George Halepis

Remember what happened the last time “conservatives” took over Congress?Come on, people! Wake up! They can’t be trusted! It’s time to start voting Libertarian! The same rich and powerful elite control both major parties!

      • http://?? Joe H.

        George,
Remind me, when was the last time conservatives controlled anything?? We have never had a truly CONSERVATVE government!!! you guys keep interchanging conservative and RINO!!!!

      • Rod the Other

Part of the radical 60′s communist movement had a goal of taking over 1 or both political parties….They succeded in taking them both over and GRAHAM-nasty, Mclame, Snowed (you), Collins and the like are all the proof needed!

      • Smilee

        UNREAL, ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…
        Is that all you got???????
How weak….keep driving by, because you can’t stand toe-to-toe!

      • JC

He’s an ACORN Obammunist shill. keep waving your button moron…we’ll be coming to see you.

  • Holy Katz

This is it people, last chance. Try thinking with your gut instead of your head. She will not support that which she knows???…the constitution as written.

  • http://www.personaliberty.com Educated Intelligence

    NORM,
Fred Howard said he respected Kagan “for her knowledge, abilities, and integrity”. WHAT ABOUT EXPERIENCE ? HOW can you consider someone for a high court position who has no experience in the courtroom.

    • George

Some of our greatest justices had no experience on the bench before being appointed to the Supreme Court.

      • Rod the Other

        GEORGE…
that was many years ago when there wasn’t such a strong internal current working AGAINST the American people, the free market system, and the Constitution. The baby-boomers and socialist 60′s radicals were not around, or at least of sufficient age, to pursue their radical agendas.

      • Smilee

You make it sound like one without experience on the bench is exactly what we now need as since we had one you maintain everything has gone bad!!

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…was that directed at me?

      • Smilee

I was directly under your post, WHAT DO YOU THINK!!

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…
Well Im glad you asked what I think, because I think that you are an moron or a socialist (which would make you an ignoramous to the history of socialism and communism).

I also think that your post (read thinking) is so far off base from what I said, that I wanted to make sure your babbaling was directed at me because…I couldn’t tell from your complete inability to read and comprehend the written word.

I also think you lack the common social grace that is typical of self-righteous psuedo-intellectualls…How about directing your comments to a person so they a response is expected, particularly if your reading comprehention is as lacking as it is….Ohhh but that isn’t what you do is it…your fortay is obfuscation, not clear and rational reasoning.

Just to make it easier on your little mind. My point is that we are in critical times and incure much more risk as a nation when inexperienced radicals are placed in positions of criticallity.

  • http://www.lewrockwell.com Hofmanndawg

In South Carolina the blacks vote straight Democrat just like they do here in Georgia, and everywhere else for that matter. So it’s the whites in South Carolina that keep electing RINO Lindsey Graham in the primaries and general elections. Take a look at what’s going on in Arizona.

Juan McCain is the #1 RINO in the country (Graham’s #2, pun intended). McCain has a habit of being conservative in election years and liberal the other five years of his term. And the people in Arizona are too dang dumb to figure it out. McCain is ahead in the polls against JD Hayworth. It’s disgusting.

    • William

you are so right my friend, it’s disgusting the way the people of Arizona flock to a rino when they have a much better man running against him.

      • Al Sieber

William, I live in Az. and don’t support McCain, and either do a lot of people I know.

      • Smilee

Well, If there is not enough of you then the democrat will win!!!!!!!!!!

      • dan of arizona

        Al
i dont no where they get their polls but i deal with many people every day and i can truthfully say they are not voting for mc cain or hayward
in fact if you ask they are true conservative and will vote that way

That’s not true. Graham is so popular with the democrats in South Carolina, that the blacks jump parties and vote for him. Graham and always supported the ‘MINORITY’ programs, so they make sure he is in position to take care of them. The white people in South Carolina are working hard to get this guy out of our lives and our pockets.

      • Smilee

Sounds like he draws votes from both parties, sounds to me like a recipe for winning another term,I guess you are out of luck!!!!!!!!

  • Mike N.

She “seems” like a good choice. so did obama to a lot of people. When you do the research you will know the facts and then she won’t “seem” to be such a good choice. She dosen’t support the costitution. She has a political and social agenda to push through against the wishes of the american people.

    • Norm

      Mike N.
She knows more about the constitution than you do or ever will.

      • William

norm how in the hell do you know what everyone else knows?? you dont know catshit and you damned well dont know a damned thing about kagan. why dont you try reading up on her and her past actions AND her views. you just might learn something. as seemingl ipossible as that is for a brain dead yellow dog democrat,

      • Coservative at Birth

        My sentiments exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • kate8

William, progressives don’t need no stinkin’ facts!

They don’t read-up, they intuit. Besides, they implicitly trust their progressive officials, so there’s no need for them to think.

      • Robert

Norm knows everything, he works at McDonalds with kagan.

Norm is on that Wacky Tobacci, so cut the fool some slack. He don’t know which hole the fork goes in at the moment. Careful Norm that could really hurt.

      • Christopher51

Norm: You’re exactly right! In fact, you’re so right, it’s scary. She does know more about the Constitution than, “We The “Sheeple!”” There-in lays the problem.

How many out there have ever read the Constitution?…The Bill of Rights?… The Federalist Papers?…Original Intent?… The Declaration Of Independence? Hmmm… I thought so.

Ask the common man on the street, “Who’s in charge? Who are your representatives? What do they do? What are their views and background?” Now there’s a lesson in futility!

However, ask the common man on the street, “Who got kicked off the Island? Who wimped out on Survivor? Who’s dancing with who? Who’s screwing who in Hollywood? Everybody knows that crap. So long as, “We The “Sheeple”” remain focused on crap like that, as we’re supposed to, the ‘dog and pony’ show shall continue.

Think about this, could you imagine this sort of crap going on in Washington 200 years ago? There wouldn’t have been enough left of them for a dental records check.

As Thomas Paine once said, “It is the duty of every patriot to protect his country, from its government.”

We have failed miserably to protect ourselves from our government, and now it is too late. Only a revolution will save us now.

Sure she does. That’s why she stated that she’s not “sympathetic” with the 2nd Amendment.

      • George Halepis

The above comment was supposed to be in response to Norm. It’s in the wrong place.

      • JC

What she knows about the Constitution is how to “interpret” it.
It doesn’t need to be interpreted…especially not by a COMMUNIST! ;)

      • Smilee

Oh boy, The SC has been interpreting it almost since day one and many times there is great difference in interpretation amongst the Justices but we understand you simpleton’s do not understand why it is needed because to you all is black and white, I doubt you will ever understand what the Constitution is or how it works. Ignorance is Bliss I suppose!!

.How many questions on a bar exam are related to constitutional law limitations Norm? Did any left leaning profs teach the true purpose of the constitution or just how to abuse it? The best way for a mole to ace one of their classes is to tell them what they want to hear. A neurotic is not noticed among his own kind.

      • Rod the Other

        NORM….
I am quite sure that she knows a great deal about the Constitution…probably more than most Americans. She’s no dumby and she knows it is very important to inform yourself about something that you are seeking to defeat!

Her knowlegde of the Constitution is in NO WAY an endorsement of it from her. The Constitution declares Equal Justice…She supports social justice. If she wants to win, she needs to know her enemy and bring it down from within, not by direct confrontation.

      • Smilee

        Equal Justice is social justice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…
So you don’t deny that she is trying to destory the Constitution subversively from within the Gov…But your trying to convince me that Equal justice under the law is the SAME as Social justice!?

        NOW WHO IS DELUTIONAL!!!!!!1

In another post you called yourself a Constitutionalist, please explain to me how a Constitutionalist can equate social justice to Equal justice!

Social justice: seeks to MANUFACTURE equality of OUTCOME.

Equal Justice: “Equality before the law or equality under the law or legal egalitarianism is the principle under which each individual is subject to the same laws, with no individual or group having special legal privileges.

ONCE AGAIN PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THEY ARE THE SAME!!!!!!!!!! YOU SIR OR MADAM ARE NO FRIEND TO THE UNITED STATES, OR A FAIR AND JUST WORLD!!!!!!!! YOU SEEK REPARATIONS FROM THE SUCCESSFUL TO THE FAILED!!!!!! Or how do you put it, “from each depending on ability, to each depending on need?

The supreme court is the judicial branch of government. The legislative branch authorizes spending.

      • Robert

        Norm,
In a round about way, the judicial branch WILL CONTROL spending by NOT declaring healthcare and other bills by obama and company unconstitutional, the same way obama goes round and about the congress with appointments that law decree be scrutinized, and approved by congress.

      • Smilee

It’s not round about it will be head on and constitutional despite the fact you will not like that as I’m sure it would be OK with you if the legislatived from the bench and declared it unconstitutional

You really like that word “Communism”. You should really find out what it means.
How simple it is to call anyone you don’t like a communist. Joe McCarthy did it in the fifties until the country got wise to it.

        Sound familier?
Joseph Raymond McCarthy (November 14, 1908 – May 2, 1957) was an American politician who served as a Republican U.S. senator from the state of Wisconsin from 1947 until his death in 1957. Beginning in 1950, McCarthy became the most visible public face of a period in which Cold War tensions fueled fears of widespread Communist subversion. He was noted for making claims that there were large numbers of Communists and Soviet spies and sympathizers inside the United States federal government and elsewhere. Ultimately, McCarthy’s tactics and his inability to substantiate his claims led him to be censured by the United States Senate.

      • George Halepis

Inability to substantiate? You mean like Alger Hiss? Harry Dexter White? The Rosenbergs? FDR himself stated that some of his best friends were Communists. He surrounded himself with them and grew angry when anyone said anything critical. Censure? What would you expect from a Democrat, pro-Communist Congress?

      • Michael J.

        Norm,
Your “Whack” at McCarthy deserves a rebuttal.

Senator Joe McCarthy is one of the strongest pro-American figures in the history of the United States. Despite many attempts by socialists to demonize McCarthy and “McCarthyism” with revisionist history, McCarthy’s achievements shine through the propaganda. At a time when America was threatened by a murderous, backward, anti-freedom ideology of Soviet communism, Joseph McCarthy was a champion of capitalism and Democracy. Even when his career was threatened because of his vocal anti-communist speeches, McCarthy did not back down from the cause of freedom. For the courage Senator McCarthy showed in sticking to his American principles, he is today considered to be a hero by many.

Joseph McCarthy was born in 1908 in a small Wisconsin town. In 1935 he earned a law degree from Marquette University and was admitted to the state bar. After an unsuccessful district attorney campaign in 1936, McCarthy was elected to district judge in 1939, becoming the youngest judge in Wisconsin state history.

After America was attacked on December 7th, 1941, Joseph McCarthy enlisted in the Marine Corps. He served his country honorably, flying eleven missions and earning a Distinguished Flying Cross award. While on duty, McCarthy made a hasty attempt at a US Senate campaign in 1944 but was defeated by Alexander Wiley. Determined to reverse his fortune, McCarthy again ran for Senate in 1946. This time McCarthy’s campaign was much better planned and he found success, narrowly defeating the Republican incumbent candidate in the primary and going on to easily win the general election.

In the late 1940s, Russian spies infiltrated the deepest levels of the US government, including the Rosenbergs who had stolen the plans to the nuclear bomb. America was threatened by a ruthless enemy in Soviet Communism that would not stop until the world was enslaved. When Senator Joseph McCarthy learned of the Russian infiltration of Washington, DC, he was determined to take the evidence public to the American people.

In his famous speech on February 9th, 1950, McCarthy brought public a list of 57 known communists working for the state department. These revelations took the American public by storm. Out of all the Senators and public figures in Washington, only McCarthy had the courage to stand up against communist infiltration. It was a deed that McCarthy’s leftist critics would never forgive him for.

For the next four years, Senator Joseph McCarthy stood undeterred against the strong socialist influence in Washington, exposing literally hundreds of anti-American operatives working incognito for the US Government. The American people generally appreciated McCarthy’s brave efforts and he was well-liked all across America.

McCarthy’s enemies also followed his activities with a strong interest. Determined to stop McCarthy from spreading the truth about their communist agenda, many anti-American Hollywood insiders found willing accomplices in the budding liberal media. These propaganda-mongers added a new word to the dictionary, defining “McCarthyism” as a senseless political witch hunt. In fact, McCarthy had exposed scores of known communists in the capital without a single known false accusation. Joseph McCarthy’s critics were never interested in the truth however.

The leftist counter-offensive against McCarthy was beginning to take its toll in late 1953. Many Senators became fed up with McCarthy’s showmanship as the liberal media relentlessly launched baseless attacks against his character. On a dark day in American history in December 1954, American hero and patriot Joseph McCarthy was censured by the US Senate.

Following his censure, McCarthy sunk into alcoholism from which he never recovered. He died of hepatitis on May 2nd, 1957 at the age of 49.

Even after his death, McCarthy’s critics continued to crucify him posthumously. Not satisfied with merely ruining a man’s career and driving him to alcoholic suicide, the liberal media courageously dragged McCarthy’s name through the mud for the next fifty years, continuing to this day. Leftists have never forgiven McCarthy for his crime of exposing them for who they truly are, inventing phrases like “The Red Scare” to demean McCarthy’s anti-communist efforts.

The VENONA Project files, declassified in 1995, provided indisputable evidence that nearly all of those McCarthy accused were traitors to America. Not surprisingly, the media ignored these documents completely, instead choosing to run yet another round of anti-McCarthy propaganda. As if that wasn’t enough, in 2005 Hollywood released the greatest propaganda film since “Triumph of the Will”, an anti-McCarthy slander picture known as “Good Night and Good Luck”. Dead for fifty years, McCarthy’s body has now been tarred, feathered, crucified, cremated, and his ashes shot into space by a leftist media who cannot handle the truth of their own miserable existence. The anti-McCarthy media claims the Senator wrongly implicated many. Despite their accusations, no critic has ever brought forth a single documented case of someone being wrongly accused by McCarthy.

McCarthy’s achievements to America are undeniable to those that view history with an unbiased eye. At a time when America was being infiltrated by agents of the most murderous empire in human history, McCarthy was the lone voice who stood against tyranny. He exposed hundreds of agents determined to destroy America. Had McCarthy not had the courage to speak up, it seems possible that the USSR might still exist today. Hundreds of thousands of Eastern Europeans who once lived under the Soviet fist today owe their freedom to Senator McCarthy.

McCarthy’s patriotism cost him his job and eventually his life. For his determination in protecting American freedom, Joseph McCarthy is undoubtedly an American hero and patriot.

Michael J. – Thank you for the brief bio of McCarthy. It is because of him that the communists failed back then. Of course, they’ve been working under the guise of the democrat party since then, and now they’ve nearly succeeded.

Where is our McCarthy now? Are there any statesmen today?

The clueless libs, like Smiley, will continue to spout the progressive bilge, but they only show their inability to see things for what they are.

Michael J….Excellent post and thank you for it!

        Just a quick aside:
Don’ you find it amazing that the same progessive-liberal propaganda smear machine that opposed McCarthy is the same machine the touts Senator Robert Byrd as a “pillar of the senate”?

Senator Byrd, Who philibustered against civil rights, was given this glowing endorsement from Obama upon his death, “…“America has lost a voice of principle and reason”

But Someone like McCarthy has been villified by the progessive-liberal propaganda smear machine for his attemps to defend our nation against communist assault! It makes sense when you see the lefts attempts for what they are…An assualt on Liberty and the Constitution.

      • JAFO

You think ” Big Mac’s” not coming back ? Why do you think the Progressives are screwing the Constitution so hard? Don’t be angry at fellow American’s. Save it for the real enemy. “Those who refuse to learn from Histories mistakes ar doomed to repeat them”. ie: Civil War/Lincoln , Great Depression/FDR, WTO/Clinton, ARM/Obama-Frank-Dodd, and coming inevitably : All of the Above/Obama-Reid-Pelosi…
There will be “many” Big Macs crawling out of the woodworks… They’re being called out.. I know… I’m one of them.. I’m American !

Actually Norm I use the word communist, I don’t “like” the word.
I use it to describe socialist / collectivist activities and attitudes…like yours. The word automatically applies to “COMMUNity Organizers” like the Kenyan.

      • Smilee

In other words you use the word to describe anything you do not understand!!

      • JC

Nope, understand it just fine. Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and now a Kenyan in the White House…all communists. Disgusting, low life cancerous tumors on freedom.
Oh! He’s your deity isn’t he? Sorry if I hurt your widdle feelings.

      • LocalYokel

Go over the stats again Norm and forget what all the purchased media told you. All the info that the country heard then had the same spin that if evident now. The truth in info today must give full credit to influence from internet resources. You get only one guess concerning government control of the internet. IT AIN’T NATIONAL SECURITY but it is the only weapon available to counter the damage done by media lies and half truths. The internet must be controlled to continue the media scam. Observe the outspoken support today from the same groups accused back then. Then figure out where you can stand when when you are forced to concede that McCarthy was 80% correct. They’ve misled their flock and the intimidation is just beginning.

      • Rod the Other

        Norm…
History shows that McCarthy was correct and that he was onto the communist-American underground.

The 9/11 attack by Muslim terroristS was horrific enough, and to allow a Muslim temple to be built on that sight is TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE…IT IS SACRED GROUNDS! Any right thinking Muslim (read non-terrorist) should realize the insensativity of seeking to do so.
Furthermore, it is the tradition of Muslims to erect tempels on the sites of their CONQUESTS! To allow this to be built would amount to NOTHING MORE THAN BOWING DOWN BEFORE THEM….IT CAN NOT BE ALLOWED.
Also, this would do nothing more than to inflame any NON-Muslim that considers him or herself an American Patriot… This act would be one of the most devicive things that could be done and will only result in further violence!
An aside note…Remind me how tolerant they are to Christians and how many temples are there in Pakistan, Afganistan, Iran…etc.

So if Norm or anyone else says what you don’t agree with he/she should leave the country. Which constitution do you follow? Or are you in favor of repealing the 1st Amendment?

      • George Halepis

You mean that so-called “liberals” [actually "statists" would be more accurate] follow the Constitution? If they did, the federal government would be limited to what the Founders intended, instead of the monstrous cancer that it is. As for Kagan, maybe she promised to go straight for him.

      • Robert

        Norm,
Advise the American People if you will of ONE CASE, and ONE CASE ONLY that Kagan has presided over? You can’t, she is all book, and NO PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE. NOT GOOD. ONLY IN OBAMA’s ADMINISTRATION or McDonalds can you get a job with no experience required.

      • Dan Burke

I think I would take someone without experience IF you could prove that they were impartial. In other words, could you PROVE that they have and would make a judgement that was correct even IF they personally disapproved of something.

For example, I think homosexuality is a sin. Could you prove that I would rule in favor of a gay or lesbian because at some point in the past I showed that I can overcome my personal views? You cannot. I have no history that could show that. It doesn’t matter what I say. Even though I think homosexuality is a sin, I also think that someone who beats up, abuses, tars and feathers, or whatever against a homosexual is actually the criminal. But I have no history to that you could use to prove that I would rule in favor of the Rule of Law over my own viewpoint. I could be wrong about that of course, maybe I do have a history that could be shown to prove that I can be impartial in judgement, but right now I am trying to illustrate a point (plus, I personally cannot think of any examples in my life that show I can be impartial). We want “blind” justice. Justice that does not judge based on race, class, poverty versus rich, or any such prejudices. Unfortunately, that is why many of us are inclined to be opposed to Elena Kagan because her history seems to show an inclination to be almost the opposite of what we are looking for as a Justice….

However, this quote is very telling. “… one of this country’s leading legal minds.” What does it tell me? I think the key words here is “leading,” as in leading to somewhere. That is what we fear in her nomination. We do not fear that she is dumb. She probably is brilliant and great at what she has done. However, the question we’ve been asking and pondering is “Where does this lead?” And it is the answer that has so many of us all up in arms and angry.

By the way, haven’t we gone past mob mentality yet? What’s with the tar and feather stuff? I would rather be tarred and feathered for standing up for my freedom, my religion, and even my personal beliefs than to support or stand with people who would tar and feather someone else. Just because I think someone else is wrong, doesn’t mean I think we should revert to such barbaric behavior. Leave that for unions, communists, marxists, and any other sort of “enlightened” progressive to do.

      • slickporsche

I do not believe that a human being, as imperfect, as we are, could vote impartially no matter what we would like to think. There has to be some partiality in there somewhere, at least to some degree. It remains to be seem if this Kagan can do a good job. I think in most cases, she will vote in a liberal manner.

      • George Halepis

The “liberal” mindset is incapable of being impartial. That’s why some “liberals” [socialists] in the past who have become impartial were also more libertarian. I’m not pro-gay, but I would vote for a lesbian if she were libertarian.

      • s c

Robert, Herr Obummer is very consistent in one thing. He wants and attracts people who have NO practical experience in ANYTHING.
Obummer’s ideal candidate (a czar, a Supreme Court nominee or government drone) is someone with documented criminal skills (felons preferred), hates the Constitution, wants to put America in chains and sees illegal aliens as superior citizens.

      • Norm

On January 5, 2009, President-elect Barack Obama announced he would nominate Kagan to be Solicitor General. Before this appointment she had limited courtroom experience. She had never argued a case at trial, and had not argued before the Supreme Court of the United States. This is not uncommon, however, as at least two previous Solicitors General, Robert Bork and Kenneth Starr, had no previous appellate experience at the Supreme Court, though Starr served as a Circuit Court Judge prior to acting as Solicitor General.
Kagan was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on March 19, 2009, by a vote of 61 to 31, becoming the first woman to hold the position. She made her first appearance in oral argument before the Supreme Court on September 9, 2009, in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission.
The First Amendment Center and the Cato Institute later expressed concern over arguments Kagan advanced as a part of her role as solicitor general. For example, during her time as Solicitor General, Kagan prepared a brief defending a law later ruled unconstitutional that would have criminalized depictions of animal cruelty. During her solicitor general confirmation hearing, she said that “there is no federal constitutional right to same-sex marriage.” Also during her solicitor general confirmation, Kagan was asked about the Defense of Marriage Act, under which states don’t have to recognize same-sex marriages from other states. She said she would defend the act.
At her confirmation hearing, Kagan also drew criticism from liberal activists for arguing that battlefield law, including indefinite detention without a trial, could apply outside of traditional battlefields. The New York Times paraphrases Kagan as saying “that someone suspected of helping finance Al Qaeda should be subject to battlefield law — indefinite detention without a trial — even if he were captured in a place like the Philippines rather than a physical battle zone.”

The “balance” in numbers, will not change. Stevens, however could bring about consences. With the addition of Sotomyer and Kagen, will come an increase in vitriol!!

  • Mike N.

Graham says Ron Paul and the tea patry have no place in the republican party. That should tell you where he stands. The two party system is broken and corrupt. I’m a registered democrat but I vote libertarian because the two parties haven’t produced a viable candidate in decades, except Ron Paul and his own party won’t support him because he has libertarian views.

    • http://www.evergreenfarms.org Fred Howard

Mike – I tend to agree about viable candidates stepping forward for the GOP. Wish Dr. Paul would meet with true Conservatives, Republican, Tea Party, et.al. to formulate a plan of action to unify the ranks to assure we will take our country back this fall before it becomes the North American Islamic Socialist Republic which it seems to be headed for. Liberals love to see division and lack of cohesion amongst the opposition and I feel we are a ship without a rudder at present. We’re in a Chess Game and the stakes are too high not to become focused behind a unified strategy.

    • George Halepis

I assume that you’re a registered Democrat so that you can vote in the primary. Yes?

        Qualify that, moron.

      • Joyce from Loris

DeMint is a good representative of our state. When we are discussing “cleaning house”, he is one I would hate to get rid of. He understands what majority of people in South Carolina want. He is for smaller government. The only problem we are having is making him agree to work to end welfare. Almost half the population in our state is on welfare, and of those, 80% are on welfare because the don’t want to work. We can’t understand why government wants to continue taking hard working, tax payers money and give it away to people whose goal in life is to have one baby after another, just to increase their welfare checks. We are tired of that. DeMint can only do so much on his own.

      • Sally S.

DeMint is not alone in his backing of Welfare. One Mayor in Bordentown, NJ made welfare recipients actually WORK for their checks. It’s absolutely pathetic how corrupt Welfare has become. They should work, they should NOT be paid for any additional children they have once they begin Welfare. I would love to see more Mayors and Governors promote working for their checks. Or they don’t get one.
PS the work was for the local government, cleaning roadsides, painting over grafitti, planting trees and shrubs etc.

      • Robert

New York City tried that route a long time ago. I can’t remember under what Mayor, but I do remember a black man on the news saying how he got his dignity back because he was working, although it was only sweeping the sidewalks in the Bronx Zoo, but to him it was a job, and the job equaled dignity. Sound good so far? READ ON!!!
Along comes a group of lawyers that you may have heard of, the A.C.L.U.. They tooki the city to court arguing that it was illegal to force someone to work, the outcome, this man again has no job, no dignity, BUT MY DAMN TAXES. Hey AQ.C.L.U. How about arguing that it is illegal to take my money and give it to someone who is quite capable of working, but chooses not to.
I guess they can’t grasp that feeling, or sentiment!!! Bunch of losers that they are. They are perpetuating poverty which will in turn, create a government run society, oh wait, were there already.
        WAKE UP AMERICA PLEASE!!!!

Mr Graham, is by any way of thinking a Progressive, in the like’s of Wilson, and others before him. And give’s reason for Term limit’s, or just Voting the BUM’S OUT!!!! Just what we need is another RINO that understands the Constitution need’s to be RE Written! But when they do finish writing it it will read like MARX!

I’m sorryfor not being very PC, but (words removed for offensive content)!

    • Michael J.

      Upsidedownjack,
I agree with most of your post. You should know however, that “Political Correctness” is also a strategy derived from the teachings of Karl Marx.

      • Norm

        Michael J.
        Have you read Karl Marx?

      • Michael J.

        Norm,
If you would like to know more about Marx and his 1920′s fan club in Germany, search the Frankfurt School. They not only devised the tactics of slow communist subversion that was later dubbed “Political Correctness”, but were also responsible for the spawning of Saul Alinsky once the group relocated to the campus of Colombia University in New York 1930′s.
Read some history, there’s no future in remaining a “useful idiot”.
Who knows, you may even learn enough to prevent yourself from drowning in the water that Obama walks on.

      • Smilee

You ignored Norm’s question and failed to give an answer!!!!!

      • Michael J.

        Smilee,

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…
I have no doubt that you’ve read Marx…I bet you have it tacked to the ceiling above your bed…How many copies have you gone through? I bet when OBAMA was elected you went through an entire copy!

  • Christopher51

Looks like “Flimsy” Graham strikes again!

This is his comment… his justification? “This president chose someone who is qualified, who has the experience and knowledge to serve on this court … and understands the difference between being a liberal judge and a politician.”

I guess that she’ll stand true, honest, impartial and unbiased….. just like the “Wise Latina Woman.”

“Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first.” – Ronald Reagan

  • http://??? steve

sc and michael are right on! Do you suppose that any thing we say about this is going to help? We have to vote this year and clean out the trash by voting out any that do not hold with the principals of the constitutin and God as our founding fathers wished. Wake up America, this is your last chance to get our country back from the enimies within or lose it forever! Start by voting everyone that has gone against the wishes of the people!

    • slickporsche

Its gonna be like playin “Russian Roulet”. Pick one and hope for the best.

    • Rod the Other

      Steve…
Good post, but I would like to add one thing.
When voting in Nov. I think the best path we can take is to NOT VOTE FOR ANY, again ANY, CAREER POLITICIAN.

      • Smilee

What have you got against experience?????????? Many on here sure are complaining about Kagen and Obama’s so called lack of experience. no consistency just slam those you do not like without good reason!!

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…
Your post is contradictory….But then again, all your trying to do is muddy the facts and distort the truth.

I have nothing against experience. I do have someting against corruption and the left is full of it. Obama’s particular brand of chicago style corruption is particularly corrupt.

Any right minded individual would be worried about the lack of experience these two have…The only place this administration can move quickly and decisively is when race is involved and they want to be the first to claim racism and victim status.

BTW, I recognize your ost as another attempt to confuse the issue and distort the truth…It’s not going to work.

You arguements would be much more productive if you could state your position and then give evidence to substantiate it. I know your liberal mind is probably struggling understanding this and your bleeding-heart is probably screaming “Let me out”. So just take all the time you need…you know that may be a bad idea, your going to get all tired and grumpy spending that much time in thought.

  • Michael J.

There’s no need to be surprised at the actions of Graham or any of his other political prostitute cronies. They disagree with the opposition while the camera is rolling, then sit side by side in upcoming Bilderberg meetings to receive their masters requests.

    • Christin

Is there anyway to get a list of who is on the Bilderberg list??

Glenn Beck had the list rolling on one of his shows behind him and mentioned that the Clintons were on it and attended the recent Bilderberg meeting.

Wow, why isn’t that plastered all over the news.

I sometimes think that some congressmen/women are trying to reach the ELITE stage so they can be on top above the law reaping the whip cream goodies, and not be cast out and put down in the bowl of pits where they are putting us.

  • s c

Assuming that there was no practical way to defeat this half-assed procss, there is only one thing that matters now. Namely, Graham needs to be treated like the back-stabbing vermin that he is. Don’t we have enough potential Specters and McCains in this world?
Graham is the epitome of a fence-sitting, moronic,
head-up-rump, mindless, grinning pizzant who sold his miserable posterior BEFORE he went to Washington. Did he ever know right from wrong?
Disappear, Graham. Become a progressive. Here’s another chance to sell your posterior. Retire. Go away. Take a long hike in uncharted territory. Get a brain transplant. Consider Cuba in the summer, and North Korea in the winter. Leave America. In plain English, Graham, YOU SUKKKKK!

    • Pathfinder

Yep!! Just another RINO that needs to be gone !! If the republican party continues to be a pale echo of the democrats; then it needs to face the same fate as the whigs did so long ago. It is for this reason that I now VOTE LIBERTARIAN. Quit wasting your vote on the RINOs.

      • Norm

        Pathfinder
Libertarians, anarchists, religious zealots, and feet dragging neocons don’t represent the majority of Americans and will never get elected in sufficient quantity to make a difference. Thank God.

That may be, but at least they’ll not have sold their soul.

      • George Halepis

That should be “foot” dragging. The singular is used in the adjective. Are you sure that God is on your side? The Founders believed that God was on their side, and they [libertarians all] gave us the greatest nation in the history of the world.

      • Norm

        George Halepis
The founders were patriots. The wealthy ruling class of today are greedy traitors who have sold the country out for personal profit.

      • Rod the Other

        NORM…
I find your comment comical and revealing of your belief in “class warfare”. The funniest part is that you are firing on your own party! You commented on the greed of the ruling elite, but fail to recognize that the richest politician are ALL democrats…and that the majority of their wealth has come from pushing corrupt legislation that is designed to benefit them, not the people!

        Here’s is just ONE example:
How do you explain the wealth that Barney Frank has amassed? He has never held a private sector job yet his net worth is in excess of $1mil!!!!!!!!

Take a look at this link:
        http://www.wsws.org/articles/2008/jul2008/fran-j18.shtml
This is from the World Socialist Website and even they expose Frank and his political party for the frauds that they are!

      • Barbara Fraley

God answers, you may not like what his answer is but all the prophesis have been reached and it says he lets things happen as they are now. But if we believe and ask Him and it is his will we can be saved if our country were to ask for his help. He is upset because we are very lax about our faith.
If you have a Bible read Daniel it is a small book in the Old Testament it is very enlightning.

        NORM…
They better represent the Constituion and the majority of the American public than do you LEFTY-SOCIALISTS.

It is and was the VERY EFFECTIVE propaganda that the left is disseminating that vilified the true American spirit and turned people towards the DEMO-LEFTIES. Now that they have had the power to move our republic they are being exposed for what they are… MARXISTS, and the people have begun to revolt against their rule. This is evidenced by the emergence of the TEA party. Enjoy it will it lasts because you guys failed at many points in hiding your agenda. Heaven help us if we get to the end of the rope, but you guys failed to DISARM the American populus and if your agenda gets that far you will face an armed militia ready to reinstate the Constitution!

Hopefully it wont come to civil war, but if you see the body of Lindsey Graham-nasty launched from a catapult over your castle wall, you’ll know it has begun.

      • Norm

        Rod the Other
This isn’t the 1700′s. Muskets are gone. Do you seriously believe that a bunch of armed hillbillys could defeat the US Army?

      • Smilee

Norm, they would not stand a change but it should reduce the number of these idiots substantially in a hurry if they actually tried. Things should get better afterwords because then even they would understand how little influence they really do have

      • Christin

Rod, that’s how they (the radical leftist Marxists) want you/us to react: angry, volatile, and ready to shoot… then their claims that YOU ARE A TERRORIST will come true and they can declare MARTIAL LAW and open up the FEMA Camps.

We’ve got to think this one through, be SMART, and have a GREAT plan.
Come on guys, a lot of you are really bright. I read your posts and many of you have a lot of expertise and experience.

The Tea Parties (Constitutional Conservative Patriotic Americans for smaller gov, lower taxes, stop spending & less regulation to let the Free Market work) are talking and stratigizing.

Things are bad… we are at the end, not the beginning. What CAN WE DO??? I think standing up to Washington, speaking intelligently, loudly & peacefully and on THEIR turf will hit home most. Where are the constituional lawyers?? Why are they not filing suits that congress, and czars, and president are against the CONSTITUTION??

We have to help each other with information and strength.

      • Rod the Other

        Norm…
I don’t know what the 1700′s or muskets have to do with my post….But, as usual, you are trying to steer the conversation into an area that has nothing to do with the statement.
I also find it typical how you would call an American seeking to defend the Constitution a “Hillbilly”. Is this another Alinsky tactic to demean the opposition?
By the way, I HIGHLY doubt that the majority of those serving in the U.S. military will fight on the side of an ANTI-American dictatorship (certainly not for long, or not after they realize that they are not fighting for the Constitution). I very much beleive that if the U.S. Military was used against the U.S. people in subversion of the Constitution that those in uniform would QUICKLY abandon the ANTI-American side and fight against that effort and join the patriots and those fighting for LIBERTY and the Constitution!

        Christin…
Just for the record my post was not in anger or in a willful effort to promote violence. My post was merely meant to convey that I, like many others, will not be bullied into submission, or allow bold-faced ANTI-American forces to control the streets.
I truely beleive that open and honest discussion is the best path to restore America. And that resorting to violence before diplomacy is a GRAND mistake. It is just, if not more, dangerous to say, “We are going to take the high road and talk and talk and talk too our enemy until they understand that we just want to have peace”. There comes a point at which physically defending yourself is the only course of action. I do not beleive that we are at that point…Yet! But, we can not remain niave or lazy about our duties as defenders of the Constitution….If someone where pounding on my front door and was trying to force their way into my home…I would talk to them while the door remained secure and inform them of what faces them should they enter my home. Once the door was busted through, I would, through discussion, let them know that one step into my home will result in my PHYSICALLY defending myself. Once they entered my home I would defend it and everyone inside with as much force as needed to drive them away.

I am NOT advocating any violence towards anyone, but I will not tolerate any voilence towards myself or my family. SO to sum this up and be VERY CLEAR, I desire the more peaceful approach, but if I am attacked I will not hesitate to DEFEND myself.

CHRIS, I truely value your call for calmer heads to prevail. And I am willing to bet that our founding fathers made the decision to defend our land with a VERY calm and thoughtful resolve.

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…
Is this an attempt to besmirch me or the U.S. troops?

1st off: Conservatives like me aren’t the radicals here….It is you and your revolutionary socialist-progressives that are seeking “FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE”. The Forefathers of the United States were radicals because their belief in freedom and personal liberty was contrary to the belief held by British rule. You are the radical here sir or madam…Due to the fact that you don’t hold dear the Constitution or that for which it stands! Your beliefs are contrary to what the American Patriot holds dear. In your efforts you would have the Constitution done away with and replaced with Socialism…..can you say cloward & Piven.

For those unfamiliar with Cloward & Piven philosophy see this link:
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloward%E2%80%93Piven_strategy

2nd off: To infer that the U.S. Military is comprised of brainwashed robots willing to kill U.S. Citizens because the “Commander” says to, rather than patriotic sons & daughters of America is nothing more than proof of your contempt for our military. You and your kind are fearful of our military because they are defenders of our Constitution and your movement (read B S) can only progress so far as long as we have a standing military that knows thery are fighting for liberty not to further the agenda that has been in place for some time now…Namely the Communist conquest of the U.S.A.

      • Michael J.

        Smilee,

      • s c

N, this amounts to being a whizzing contest with a skunk, but as long as you REFUSE to distinguish between a Republican and a Conservative, you have NO reason to talk about either. A Conservative has standards for those who are elected. A Republican (RINO) is a useful idiot who sold his or her ass to the lowest bidder, and will go to bed with anyone.
I won’t go into how to distinguish between a Democrat (an almost extinct species) and a Progressive (a diseased, lower life form). It will suffice if you’d get it through your thick skull what a Conservative is and what is a Republican. They are NOT the same.
If you live long enough, you might be able to understand. I won’t hold my breath, as you seem to struggle with 1 + 1, and Dick and Jane are overly complex to you.
Get yourself a translator, if you need one, and try REALLY hard to concentrate. Then, and only then, you claim that you TRIED, instead of remaining an overpaid shill for those who will use you and throw you away when it’s convenient. And remember, “ask not what your slavemasters can do for you, ask how you can be a martyr for social justice”).

We have to get serious about our vote this November and when we do get another somewaht resemblance of a government for the people and of the people we must support it and the senators and Congressmen/women that we elect.
Its not over when we vote we have to be active with sharing our opinions with the elected officials. Whether they like it or not.

I personaly don’t beleive the acussation that he was born elsewhere, but his FAILURE to address this issue with the American public, that he is supposed to serve, is VERY suspicious! At the very least it is proof that he is a devisive element not a uniting one! and CAN NOT be a fair and just leader that ALL Americans deserve!

The American people have yet to see the usurper’s certified birth certificate. The “live birth” cerificate doesn’t hold value.

      • JC

Smilee, the only thing he’s proved is that he is a completely incompetent moron or he’s hell bent on destroying America, either way he is an enemy of the Constitution and IF he’s an American, then he is a traitor.
        You’re boy has to go.

      • Rod the Other

        NORM…
I find your comments very revealing….You embody the sickest mindset of how America is being dismantled. You are more concerned about which party wins and don’t care that the American public is losing.

We need to return to what made America great and stop seeking “FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE”.

      • Norm

        Rod the Other
America is going to hell in a hand basket.
Take a drive through the decaying cities of this once great industrial giant and look at the rotting factories that once employed thousands at livable wages. We can no longer feed or cloth ourselves without foreign labor and capital.
We are amassing a huge national debt and are losing the middle class. The right wing nuts think all is well.
I suppose if you are a talk radio host, making millions annually spreading hate, things are great for you.

      • JC

And all of that is the result of a welfare state…and what’s the Kenyan doing? Expanding the welfare state.

      • Rod the Other

        NORM…
I want to puke-in-rage everytime I hear someone (almost always a progressive-liberal) pointout the results of failed liberal-socialist policies and say “…see what the repubs/conservatives have done”. This is liberal-logic on FULL DISPLAY. The cities/counties/states that are in the worst shape have been under Democrat control for decades. The high taxes and more than generous entitlement programs are what is ROTTING these communities. 18 of the top 20 POOREST cities have been under Democrat control for over 40 years….Democrats keep promising to help the workingman, but all they seem to do is enrich themselves while the poor get poorer and the former middle class become wards of the state.

This “Once great industrial nation” has been driven out of existance by the Unions. The sheer greed of the Unions is what is ROTTING our cities/counties/states. Take a look at the steel industry…Bethlehem steel specifically. Due to Union greed this company was crushed under the weight of their compensation and pensions. Management tried to reason with them and negotiate a reduction in the remunerations to keep the CO. open, but the Unions refused to concession and EVERYONE lost their jobs!

I totally disagree with your statement, “… we can no longer feed or cloth ourselves without foreign labor and capital”. This is crap! We do just fine for ourselves, but would be doing better if we didn’t have the Socialist-progressives getting in the way with undo regulation and over-taxation of business. But, that doesn’t really fit with the continual down-talking on America that you LIBs so enjoy does it? This Country has done more to better the human condition than ANY OTHER NATION EVER! and all you want to do is deride and belittle it….You should be ashamed of yourself!

Lastly, “…We are amassing a huge national debt and are losing the middle class. The right wing nuts think all is well”. This is being perpetrated by the left, not the right. Although I do think that the progressive-right (like Lamsey Graham-nasty) are perfectly good with it. I find it astonishing that you can claim that our house is being burned down, and blame the right when the Barack-brigade and the Pelosi-pack are wearing flame throwers and dacing around it!
We are losing the middle class because of over-taxation and progressive policy. Guess what happens when you have high taxes and only 1/2 of the citizens pay State and Federal income tax….YOU KILL THE MIDDLE CLASS BECAUSE THEY CAN’T SURVIVE UNDER THE BURDEN. The poor do fine because they recieve social support paid for by these taxes, and the rich remain (relatively) rich because they have the means to weather the storm and claim most of the ground vacated by the formaly middle-class.

YOU REALLY NEED TO EDUCATE YOURSELF NORM….OR IS YOUR AIM SIMPLY TO DISCREDIT EVERYTHING AMERICAN SO YOU CAN ACHIEVE YOUR GOAL OF SOCIALISM?

      • Smilee

As I said before you really are totally delusional and out of touch with the real world as that is what delusional is, confused, bitter, angry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…
You do nothing more than strengthen my resolve with your BS…Your vociferous complaining tells me nothing more than you can’t handle the light of truth. Further evidence that you would rather live under lying-promise of socialism, rather than the warm shinning sun of Capitalism….your a sad little being.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Smelly,
I suppose then you are gonna try and tell me that everything is just hunky dory in California, that bastion of liberal infection, that has been under lib control for so long???? Please don’t even try to tell me the terminator, that RINO b@$tard, is a republican. One only has to see what family he was allowed to marry into and they would know immediatly he is a liberal progressive.
Your pus festered brain, infected by the worm of socialistic welfare can not even begin to grasp the idea that your dem handelers are leading you to your future destruction!!

      • JC

Smilee has nothing of substance to say…he passes judgement from somewhere under a rock. It’s all meaningless.

      • dan of arizona

norm does nafta ring any bells who was it that gave away all of our industry hint clinton and the chicken little where are all of the rest of the jobs that amnesty will provide lets get real here this has been going on for a long time now you no what its going to take to make it happen why dont you foget that you voted for the socialist and join the team to take back the god given rights that where handed to you there has been alot of blood spilled so you can sit there and complain about the poor judgment that you made its time to correct it an fight with us even if you must die along with us to protect our great nation that is a small gift for what you belive in or not

    • William

way to go SC makes me think about moving back to S.C. just long enough to vote against the worthless bastard,

      • Joyce from Loris

I live in South Carolina. We are diligently working to get this two faced, worthless idiot off the payroll. We all send him emails and phone his office constantly, explaining that he is suppose to represent the PEOPLE’S choice. Graham thinks he knows what is best for all of us, that we can’t be smart enough to know what we need. His term isn’t up yet, but when it is, we are armed with desire and will vote him out. Be patient.

      • Barb

Two thumbs up to all of you. Wish I could vote against him also. He is now a traitor to our COUNTRY, alas I live in Utah.

      • http://personalliberty.com Texican

Ditto, Barb. I agree whole-heartedly and wish the SC the best of luck in ousting Graham!!!

      • Norm

        Barb
You live in Utah. I guess that explains it.

      • JC

Norm you are a disgusting piece of…You liberal jack of…dictate how everyone should feel about everything then reveal yourselves as compete and total hypocrites when you make statements like that.
God but you are a disgusting lot.
OBAMA is a Kenyan and should be deported from these United States and he can take Norm with him to go milg goats in his home village. :)
        Have a nice day.

      • Evelynn

Hope you get rid of him. Only problem he won’t be off the payroll. He will get his salary for the rest of his life and his wife gets paid too. This is something that needs to be changed.

      • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Liberty

Graham, phony that he is, is a member of the “ruling class”, or elite; they rule by consensus amongst themselve. You see, you can only be involved in the consensus process if you are one of the “right kind of people”. Citizens and taxpayers are not “the right kind of people”. His arrongance matches that of his fellow compatriots like Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Frank, and Kerry to name but a few.

        Toss the liar out……………….

      • Norm

        William
        Do you mean Demint?

    • Sally S.

Well said SC.! She’s Obama’s ace-in-the-hole……. in other words, they’re both ace-holes…..and let’s not leave out Hillary, Pelosi and Reid.
      Come on November!!

    • refuse2lose

      Graham is a…….CRACKER!!!!

      • JC

        So is Ritz.

      • Smilee

        FUNNNNNNNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • bbstacker

I wrote that clown about his support of crap-n-raid, told him to man up and grow a set. The good people of SC need to find a rail, some tar and goose feathers for this Benedict Arnold of our generation. Pathetic candy-pants should be tossed by his party. He’s a grinning, runt of a fox, living in the hen house.

    • slickporsche

This is exactly one of the reasons that a vote in November will do us no good. I will vote, but do not expect anything to change. You cannot trust any of them, I do not care what party they are from. I think we are screwed.

      • George Halepis

You’re absolutely right, which is why it’s time to start voting Libertarian.

      • Lawrence H.

NO! It is not time to vote Libertarian. It is time to get off your keisters and find good reliable conservatives and put them on the primary ballots. Then vote the RINO out and go after the next one!

      • Ted Crawford

Lawrence, well said! This is EXACTLY what needs to be done!!

    • Rod the Other

GRAHAM MUST GO….He and his type are the cancer that will allow the progressives the ability to put the Constitution in the grave. Graham beleives that it is more important to “work across the isle” and acheive consensus than it is to stand for the Constitution. You can take a look back a senator GRAHAM-NASTY and quickly come to the conclution that he disregards the Constituion at nearly every turn.

Graham and his policy/actions are much worse than ANY lefty. At least the LEFTIES tell you what they stand for and are going to do. Graham hides behind the viel of being a conservative, but lets the enemy inside the gates at every crucial point.

GRAHAM IS A TREASONUOS TRAITOR and should be tared and feathered!

      • Smilee

An awful lot of adjectives that are nothing more than a pack of lies!!!!!!!

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…
        What are the lies?
Is it that Lamsey Graham-nasty is not worse than the Lefties…It is quite a feat to be worse than them, but he gives them a run for their money.
Or is it a lie that DEMs are honest and fairly forthright about what they want to do? I mean we know their liers, but they only lie to their opposition, which their constituents find endearing.

I will concede the point that I don’t think you would find Lamsey a treasonous traitor. After all, He’s on your side.

Let me know SPECIFICALLY what the lies are so I may respond in specific….Thanks sweetness!

      • Rod the Other

        Smilee…
        Where’s your spine?
Are you going to stand behind your ridiculous assertion or are you going to slither away?

maybe your just waiting on your Seminar-blogger-Handler to get back to you with a response that will sufficiently obfuscate the issue!
