Pataki Condemns Obama's Recess Healthcare Appointment

Pataki condemns Obama's recess healthcare appointmentTaking advantage of a congressional break, President Obama appointed Donald Berwick as the head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services last week, avoiding a likely confirmation battle as Berwick’s liberal views on healthcare policy clash with those held by many Republicans.

In fact, the latest criticism has come from former New York Governor George Pataki, a prominent Republican and chairman of Revere America, an organization that works to promote policies rooted in the traditions of freedom and free markets.

Pataki stressed that Berwick is known for his admiration of the UK’s government-run healthcare system and is in favor of the rationing of care.

"With [this] decision, President Obama is trying to avoid public disclosure of the views of the man who will have enormous unprecedented power over the healthcare of every single American," the former governor stated.

"The American people deserve far better, and they certainly deserve a full public discussion of Berwick’s radical views," he added.

Revere American is currently conducting a nationwide campaign to collect 1 million signatures to repeal and replace the healthcare reform bill signed by Obama earlier this year. ADNFCR-1961-ID-19880756-ADNFCR

    I cannot believe that anyone in his or her right mind would support Obama. He has lied and been caught so many times it’s hard to keep up. He has insulted our allies, he has buddied up to every evil leader of an oppressive regime in the world. He has made promises to everyone – and crawfished on every one…He has made very small interest group angry – except perhaps the militant black panthers who threatened white voters – those animals screaming about killing crackers and their babies (this I heard with my own ears) he lets them walk. He is suing Arizona for upholding the FEDERAL law which their law mirrors — not because he gives a damn about Mexicans but because he wants their democratic votes. He has empowered the already corrupt labor unions, he cancelled the Christian Day of Prayer (86% of Americans say they are Christian) but held a Muslim day of prayer on Capital Hill (that doesn’t offend anyone since less than 1% of the nation claims to be Muslim?). He is STILL promoting global warming which has been proven with hundreds of pieces of documentation to be a total scam. He has made his birth records (the Hawaii papers are not legal documents and can be bought by anyone who lived there – NO hospital in Hawaii has any record of his birth…However, there is a statue in Kenya dedicated to the town that is the birthplace of Barack Hussein Obama with his birth date on it..His Kenyan father’s mother has sworn on a legal document that she was present at his birth. His college records are sealed probably because he got his school loans as a foreign student because of his step-father’s Indonesian birth…He went to Pakistan at 20 which he has admitted when NO ONE with an American visa was allowed entry into the country… Why the secrecy if he is on the up and up…the ONLY PRESIDENT in history allowed to get away with hiding all of his records… This man is the man who not only voted for partial birth abortion (where the babies are coming through the birth canal when their brain stems are cut open and their brain is suctioned out…He also tried to get a law passed that any baby who defied the odds to be born should be left in a room and allowed to die a natural death ( a slow painful death by starvation and thirst)…This is the man who wanted veterans to pay for their health care because…”They knew what they were signing up for…and they want to whine now??” I could go on and I have read and read and read from the Times, The Post as well as Canada Free Press, European and Australian papers…PLEASE tell me that this anti-American monster who cannot even do anything for our country overseas but apologize for it…is NOT someone you are supporting. This man is a menace who is destroying the economy of this nation, taking over every industry that he can because he wants the government to rule and reign over everything in this nation…the one who let the Gulf fill with oil while he did nothing – while he refused dozens of offers of help from countries experienced in this – while he said in his own words that “we need to leave all the other oil skimmers alone in case there is another emergency.” Did you know one of his buddies George Soros bought millions of shares in Brazilian oilfields — just days before Obama announced he was banning ALL offshore drilling in the Gulf?? When his moratorium was overturned he filed another lawsuit… Is THIS the man you trust and support…? Are you both out of your minds…? This man is the most dangerous man we have ever had in any position of leadership in our country’s history…He is anti-America, Anti-Christian, Anti-Democracy, anti-capitalism, anti-States’ Rights, anti-Constitution…and he is best buddies with every radical progressive who spouts those same beliefs…He has appointed avowed Communists and all kinds of radical thugs to White House positions, many who have been arrested and jailed for crimes. The czar of education has backed legislation that would make it legal for men and boys (consenting children) to have sex legally…Go out there and research these hideously immoral people and you will change your mind unless you simply don’t care about your country, her values or her people… Nancy Pelosi – Obama’s #2 BFF just said that we need a ‘distribution of wealth in America – because we have 12 million illegal aliens who need our help as well as other poor people and minorities…” Want your money taken away and given to Mexican drug runners – that is who is running Mexico now. When it hits your wallet and impacts your freedoms, then tell me who you want to support. I don’t care what color the guy is – I wanted Colin Powell to run and still would back either he or Condi Rice… I care that he is not pro-American – not by birth – not by heart – not by words or deeds…
    I looked at the Rev (I use the term loosely) Jeremiah Wright’s website before it was cleaned up — the hatred it spewed was unbelievable… they pledged allegiance to mother Africa and their first duties as African American men was not to God or Christ in that church but to fighting for the cause of the black man. It was hard to find the name of Jesus Christ on that huge website anywhere – just hatred…He raised his babies in that horrible hate filled environment… And he didn’t KNOW he stated some of Wright’s ideas…please tell me you cannot be this gullible to believe in this scary individual…Please tell me you will check these facts out for yourselves, educate yourselves and fight in every poll to oust this interloper and his henchmen asap… He is following a prescribed formula to turn the US into a fascist state…read the book…this is so scary but it is best to be informed…

    WE ARE IN THE WORST MESS WE HAVE EVER BEEN IN. WE HAVE NEVER HAD A PRESIDENT IN THIS COUNTRY THAT HAS LITERALLY TRIED TO DESTROY US FROM THE INSIDE OUT.     I agree with Dave. Take a deep breath and stop trying to lynch the president. Does it really matter that he appointed this man versus taking up the time and paying all those senators to sit and say “NO” anyway??? Republican party will be the party of unemployment. Republicans were willing to vote for hundreds of billions of dollars of war expenditures without paying for them, or trillions of dollars of tax cuts without paying for them. Are reps actually concerned about this sort of increase in the national debt? Republicans want to block anything that can boost the economy and create jobs. Throwing people out of work may not be pretty, but politics was never pretty, and it is getting less so by the day. The dirty secret that most Americans aren’t aware of is that the only way to get most anything done in the Senate is to hold their vacation time hostage.Bush sure set a good example of this didn’t he?

    Republicans are so angry about health reform passing that they are just not going to cooperate on anything major.
    The Republicans have no interests beyond their own political survival. That survival, as they see it, necessitates that they toe the line set down by the banks and mega corporations who fill their campaign coffers.

    Most of the banks and big corporate interests look upon Obama as a wrench in their gears. The Republicans have been instructed to block Obama at every turn. If Obama praised “Mom and Apple Pie” the Reps would oppose it.

    Is it really in the interest of this country to effectively paralyze congress? Or are you one who believes that nothing is better than something? Are you so pleased with the status quo that you’d prefer nothing ever change?

He has no respect for the American citizens, he is going to do what ever it takes to further his own agenda, without regarde to the cost to us.I’m sure that if you take a poll of the people that want obummer removed from office, the majority would be in favor of removal. You would find yourself in the minority, but then thats the people that obummer favors.

    It’s clear that berwick shares the view of zeke emanual, if one is under two or over 45 you are only intitled to a portion of health care equal to “your value to society as a whole”!
    I guess that the youth who support this bill and therefore these men, do not plan to either have a family or grow old! While they do have a choice in the first case, they will all too soon find that they do not in the second!!

Could he have possibly done anything to make you happy or were you looking for something to bitch about since day one. He is not a communist and he’s not trying to destroy this country. Like I said, he’s not perfect but you’re being led by your fears to think crazy things about the man. These same tactics have been employed for years by the right and you fall for it every time. Don’t call me unAmerican for supporting a president I voted for. What do you think makes someone an American. Do you think our founding fathers thought everyone should agree on everything? Don’t you think they argued over what went into the constitution and what didn’t? I’m sure they all left with some regrets.         Why do we even try? So many of the people on this site have decided that the President is a “foreigner”, a “communist” or a “Marxist” out to destroy the country that any rational thought is drowned out by the cries of “Impeach!” They comment over and over again about Obama’s failure to heal the divide in our government, yet they ignore the fact that the Republicans have openly announced that they will remain in opposition no matter what. They claim the the President ignores the opinions of those on the right, pushing through his agenda at will, but they seem to forget that our previous President, Mr. “I’m a uniter, not a divider” Bush used his Republican majority to run roughshod over both the Democrats AND the Constitution!

        Yes, that’s right folks, I mentioned BUSH. What do you think, Dave, would they like me to talk about Reagan too? You know, a lot has been said about Reganomics and how it saved the country. How his tax cuts turned our economy around and increased government revenue. Little is said about how his policies increased the size of government and took the national debt to record highs, but then, at the time we were told that the deficit wasn’t anything to be concerned about. Maybe they knew that Clinton was going to step in a get it back under control. Either way, even if Reagan was right and cutting taxes was the best way to go, you can’t keep cutting taxes forever. At some point there wont be enough money to support our infrastructure. Then, when you decide to start TWO wars, well the coffers will really be strained. But Bush knew that. You talk about wanting to pull the nation down, Bush not only increased spending while cutting taxes, he tried to hide it. He didn’t include the cost of his wars in the budget (which was already in deficit) but paid for it through “emergency” spending bills.

        So now our President has concluded (and logically so) that the Republicans would obstruct just about anyone he offered up for any post, so he used his LEGAL recess option and placed a qualified man in a position that is vitally important to our nations health. A man who has a history of working for better health care at reduced cost. One who has championed the cause of better procedures to stop unnecessary hospital deaths, and the good people of this site cry foul? Why do we bother?

        I remember the vitriol from the left being just as unrelenting as what the right feels about Obama.

        The funny thing is, Obama has kept everything Bush did, and expanded on it, but somehow that’s okay with you.

        BTW, many conservatives became very angry about the things Bush was doing. All the things Obama likes.
