Chicago Tries Another Tack In Its Battle Against The 2nd Amendment

Four days after the United States Supreme Court overturned a Chicago handgun ban as unconstitutional, city aldermen passed another ordinance that bans gun shops from the city and makes it a crime for a gun owner to step outside his home—even onto his porch or into his garage—with a handgun.

Several people and at least one organization have already sued the city in Federal court seeking to have the new ordinance declared null and void, according to The Washington Examiner.

The Eric Holder Justice Department ripped Arizona’s immigration law within days of its passage, saying the law stepped into the jurisdiction of the Federal government. On Tuesday the Federal government filed suit against Arizona over the law.

The Supreme Court’s ruling in the Chicago handgun ban made it clear that cities and states could not infringe on the right of Americans to keep and bear arms—essentially making gun laws a Federal issue. I’m sure that, since Holder is so concerned with keeping Federal authority where it belongs he’ll soon be joining the suit against the city of Chicago.

When will we see your department file that lawsuit, Mr. Holder?

The recent actions of this administration have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying our capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming our governmental and economic systems with crisis. If you’re not familar with the “Cloward & Piven Stategy” you need to look it up… simply stated it explains how any social or political change that you want can be achieved through mangaged crisis… the bigger the crisis the more drastic the changes that can be accomplished. The theroy being that a people will agree to about anything if they feel threatened enough. Cloward and Piven were professors at Columbia University where Obama got his degree from.

    Let us remember the words of Samual Adams, that ‘if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom.’ It is a very serious consideration, which should deeply impress our minds, that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers in the event.”

    Our 2nd Amendment is ours to protect from all corruption and thanks to those who care – it will still be ours come 2012.

    Play the Obama game, send him emails daily to his website ask that the suit against Arizona and Jan Brewer be dropped immediately. Tell him to leave our 2nd Amendment alone, it’s not his right to attempt to change our Constitution.

    The masses can make a huge difference between now and November 2010, if we’d join together and play Obama’s favorite game. “Distraction and keeping the troops divided.” Just reading the comments is a perfect example of the way Obama and gang keep the troops divided.

    This new bill that Chicago has passed shows just how corrupt Boss Daley is. You can’t buy a gun in Chicago but have to go elsewhere to get one and can not take your gun out of your house and must get certified at an approved shooting range in order to be allowed to own one. That doesn’t sound too bad on the surface, does it? Well, take another look. You buy the gun and are on your way home with it, you are violating the law because you have it outside of your home. In order to go to a shooting range, you have to take the gun out of your home. Well, that’s illegal. Since you can’t take the gun out of your home in order to get to a range to get certified you can’t own it. In effect, Boss Daley is saying to the Supreme Court “f*** you!” One way or another Boss Daley is going to prevent people in Chicago from owning guns. And if you think Holder or anyone else in the Obama regime are going to side with the people filing a law suit against the city, well, think again. They don’t want citizens to be able to defend themselves either.

    I try to read as much as I can on both sides of an issue, with an open mind. But first you must be at least a little educated in the founding of our nation, and why the Bill of Rights (that also apply to you) and the US Constitution is so important to protecting you.
    You speak of liars and crap artists “intelligent young man named obama” sic,. Do you know how to read, can you hear, are you an American? What part of the Constitution do you not understand? Have you not read history? Are you not aware of how Hitler, and other dictators, were able to take over a country and imprison and murder their countrymen? It is almost unbeleiveable that a citizen of the United States can make ignorant statememts such as you have just made. Maybe people with opinions and ignorance such as yours should get a government that takes from the working individual and give to the non-working individual. Are you aware of how much money this government gives to an illegal person in our country who does not work, and how much money a citizen of this country can get if he is down on his luck, without a job trying to feed his family. Are you saying that illegal people should be treated as kings and Americans should be treated like [word removed]? Are you saying that the government knows better than you on how to take care of your family? Are you saying that anyone in the world can be the President of our United States wheather they are a citizen of the US or not? Being a citizen of our country is more than just being born here, or becoming naturalized. It’s protecting our country in small ways, such as reporting crimes that you see happening, and making sure that all of YOUR rights are protected, and all of YOUR neighbors, of any color, rights are protected, and making sure that all citizens rights are secure from all enemies within or without of the borders of YOUR country. Are you an American that beleives you have duties as an American citizen or are you an American in name only? At what point in time does this current administration start to be responsible for their actions, instead of blaming Bush or the stars, or the boogie man? Do we have to wait for 3 years, 10 years, or 20 years? Who’s fault is it that the Gulf is still spewing oil? Who’s in charge? Can’t be Osbama, he’s to intellegent to let the spill continue, or let the citizens get sick from the junk being put into the gulf to hide the oil, or let the media cover the great work being performed down there by BP and our government.     It is our civic duty to own firearms to prevent tyranny. I was born in 1949 and did not own a firearm until Nov 8, 2008. Why did I wait until then? My excuse was that I did not hunt and saw no need to own one. Until a totalitarian socialist was elected. Then out of a call to duty I purchased three (legally.) I am currently stockpiling ammunition for those weapons and considering buying a fully automatic machine gun in preparation for the coming confrontation with the gestapo.

        Muslim? Here we go with name calling because of ignorance. I am ashamed to say that once was prejudice against Muslims. That was until I met and got to know a Muslim family, who are wonderful people. It would be like some of the people who hate Catholics because of a few bad priests.

        Getting to the point of handguns. The City did not create a NEW ordinance banning guns from one’s porch, garage, etc. It has always been a law to a your gun inside one’s home. Also, the City already requires that all guns be registered. Once your gun is registered the City knows you have a gun and can take it from you. I know this to be true because the City confiscated my gun without cause. I was in the hospital when my cousin gave the gun to the police, upon their request. There was no legal reason or authorization for the police to take the gun. Once a police officer illegally takes your gun (theft)- you never get it back.

See New Orleans for example – the little piggies on the politico’s orders decided that normal Americans ( read as law abiding)cannot and did NOT deserve to protect themselves from the THUGS (piggies and regular criminals) that did NOT have to give up their weapons.         This county is deep deep trouble if we see more of these “Chicago” style laws come into existence….not that I am advocating violence but the easiest way to get back your rights in Chicago or anyplace else is to vote (not what I really mean ;) ) them all out of office and elect only those who will actually FIGHT crime and NOT against any American who wants to carry a weapon that is NOT commiting a crime.

The law is OK with them as long as they get what they want. When they don’t get what they want (or should I say when their masters aren’t pleased?), they’re required to respond like Pavlov’s dog(s).

        You are right Claire, both parties are corrupt, two wings same bird. But Ron Paul is also right, a third party would divide the vote. It makes sense to me to vote issues not party. The man with the right answer to the issue gets elected regardless of his party. It shouldn’t take long to get both parties on the side of what the people want.

        Would someone comment on this please, I want to know if I’m on the right path.

        DonJ–Yes, voting for a third party would no doubt divide the vote. It usually does. And I think this is sad, because the Democrats and the Republicans need to be taught a lesson–big time. But this is not the time to do it. Yes, it is fair to say that we should vote for the person that has the right answers, but will they stand by their word if elected? I don’t put much faith in what Democrats and Republicans have to say anymore. I am rather tired of listening to them bash the other party and none of them have any answers to the problems at hand themselves! I don’t hear very many of them say what THEY would DO to solve America’s problems. They are too busy bitching about each other and stumping for their cronies. I want a true conservative, someone I can trust–then I will vote for that person.

        That is the only way to vote. I always vote for the candidate/issues not the party. Unfortunately there are too many fools out there who can not see past party symbol. I don’t know how many times I have some variation of this quote “My daddy was a democrat I have always voted democrat and I ain’t gonna change now”.I am sure you would hear the same in republican strongholds. Everyone should look at the candidate, their remarks on issues, and most important their voting record then decide who best represents their position on issues and vote for that person.

        As far as third partys are concerned for a third party to be successful it needs to start localy building a base and move up to the state and national level as it gains strength.

        The Libertarian Party has a platform that would attract people from both Major Parties. Heck, there are times I wish my son would run for office, but if he got elected, they would put a pair of cement shoes on him.         Revolution? No. There would probably be bloodshed of innocent people. People that would not want to be part of a revolution. This is not the answer. At this time and regarding the issues at hand, the best answer is to vote them out, get rid of the corruption (somehow), and if the politicians that are elected do not do what they are elected to do and conduct themselves accordingly, then they must be held accountable. They would have to stand before a judge and jury if the wrongdoing warranted it. Look at all the politicians that have shady lives, and bring it into the White House and Congress. Look at the abuse of power and privileges. The problem is that they pass the legislation. What politician is going to sign legislation that will hold them to be accountable? How many would sign a law that would automatically “fire” them if they commit wrongdoing? How many would sign any legislation that would put them in jeopardy of possibly losing their position? I think it is time for Americans to stand up and DEMAND that these politicians be accountable. We can do it, we would have to unite, put party affiliations aside, and proceed en masse. It is up to us as Americans to end these political shams and game-playing antics. Both parties are guilty of this.

        The major problem we have is that people are under the illusion that Government people will make the effort to care for them when they do not care enough about themselves to make that effort. It simply isn’t reality to expect somebody else to care more about us than we care about ourselves. Leaders are primary focused on one thing – how can they make their own lives better. Anything they say contrary to that is most likely just being said to fool the public so they can retain their power. Not all politicians are completely self-centered, but most are.

      One is people can be made to believe anything if you tell them the same story for long enough. Even that an inanimate object like a gun is evil and just owning one will make you harm or kill a family member. this is just one the tells being told to the people here in Chicago just one of many. I have often wondered how a man could be told that he is somehow wrong to protect what is his how could he be convinced he was wrong to protect the people he is supposed to love. but lets be real its not just Chicago its the whole state of Illinois or should I say the majority of the people in Illinois are cowards its as simple as that!!!There are still people here who believe you can take a Glock pistol thru a metal detector so good is the media is at fooling the people here or is it you can tell a dumb ass anything?

    While it is certainly “no shock & awe” that Chicago (as well as others?) immediately fired a voley back at SCOTUS so quickly over the 2nd Amendment, I mean (after all) there have been ongoing, never-dying, simply-won’t-go-away type lawsuits on this issue for practically my entire lifetime (circa 1954).

    what I am shock & awed about is how little depth on the overall subject was included in this Article. Mr. Bob Livingston, WHAT were you thinking of? Of all the potential discussions to have on your website, anything directly related to the Bill of Rights, should ALWAYS have a considerable amount of depth (history, in this case) included in the posting of said Article. You should be ashamed, sir!

    I’ll elaborate just a little.. mostly from memory…

    During my lifetime, and in reading in both american and british, not to mention GERMAN newspapers, especially (if memory serves me right) during the 1970′s … I seem to recall hearing about no less than FIVE (5) different Court Cases pushing for the ERADICATION of the 2nd Amendment.

    The Reason? – The claim that owning a fireman of “any kind” should be considered an exercise of anarchy. I mean, after all, how is a Government to rule …. (notice I do not say “Lead”) …. a people if they have firearms with which to destroy and tear down said Ruling Body (??)

    Oh, they also cite all sorts of crime statistics … I mean, seriously, we ARE talking about a John Marshall/Alexander Hamilton Court (and society).

    One must always remember – it was Thomas Jefferson who spoke about the “in-alien-able” rights of man. That was never any of the Hamilton Followers.

    Hamilton was for Prince John of Nottingham

    While the book Robin Hood was fiction … I think you see what I’m leaning towards.

    As we all know and do, you can (and probably should) google/yahoo/BING, whatever…. search up on the web about these other Court Cases.

    What I do remember distinctly, is that a LOT of taxpayer dollars have been handed over to some very very tyrannical Lawyers with very snooty attitudes about “people on the street” when it comes to this topic. And, by that, you should understand, that once one of these lawsuits gets submitted, it becomes a cash cow for those Lawyers and that Organization they are representing in the process…. as these Court Cases don’t just come up and then get decided and suddenly go away…. THEY LINGER… THEY HANG AROUND…. they get extended over rules and procedures…. and they simply do not go away…. EVER!

    The Hamiltonian types of America – with us since the very beginning (think of it as Day One) – are all about re-creating another Monarchy, an extension of the King of England and his subcommander, Prince John of Nottingham. They would prefer a Dictatorship.. like GW said, a ‘benevolent’ one would be much better than what we have now. The problem with that, is you can plainly and strikingly see…. how “indoctrinated” GW Bush became with the Neitzschie-training he received at the Chicago law University, where that logic is the mainstay of collegiate scholastics. Bush graduated from there. Obama was a part-time Professor there. kaga was also affiliated with that School. Seeing a pattern here? I think someone should check and see how many more of these Chicago law University types have been shoved at us over the last ecade or two.

    As I stated earlier, I do remember there being at least five separate cases in different courts being processed alll at the same time, hoping to disarm the whole Country, under false premise.

    And, what’s more? Britain and Australia have already given their said right, away by electing such egomaniacal leadership in their own Countries. Always cherish what you wish for, eh?

    After all, if you weren’t wishing for it, why did you vote for those people? Oh sure, it had to be something to do with the Press… But, let’s look at it this way. We’ve had the Internet since (what) at least 1997, since I remember having access to Netscape Navigator/Messenger back around that time. Therefore, WE ALL have had access to researching what we need to fight back against the Oligarchs for OVER A DECADE. It is our own fault for not paying attention when and where we should have. We let ourselves be distracted by TV, Sports, etc.,etc. Which is exactly what they had planned all along. Victor Davis Hansen has a great paper out discussing that very plan. WE FELL FOR IT.

    So – what about it, Mr Bob Livingston? You want to add a comment or two about the missing paragraphs in this Article of yours?

        DaveH – I’m fairly certain Mr. Livingston took my complaint in the appropriate light it was meant to be in. As I’ve seen Mr. Livingston comment on here at any time towards many a poster for all sorts of reasons. Yet, he has chosen to not chastise me nor ban me from making comment. I’m fairly certain Bob Livingston doesn’t need anyone to carry his water for him. I am somewhat surprised that after your comment he “hasn’t” logged a thought or two as to my so-called ‘classless’ rhetoric. Overall, it could be that Mr. Livingston just didn’t have time to add more intel to the Article, or he simply wasn’t out to do anything more than what he already has. For my part, I was surprised he included no real dissertation to the facts at hand.
