Paradise Lost: For The Gulf Coast And The United States

Paradise Lost: For The Gulf Coast And The United States

“So many and so various laws are giv’n;
So many laws argue so many sins.” –Paradise Lost, John Milton, 1667

In the epic poem Paradise Lost, Adam and Eve have taken the forbidden fruit and God is asking Adam why. As in Genesis, Adam is passing the buck, telling God that this woman whom He made gave him the fruit. Adam asks God how such evil could have ever been expected from one so lovely.

God tells Adam that the mistake is Adam’s not Eve’s; that Adam was to look out for Eve. God points out that just before Eve met the serpent Adam had told her that they should stick together because the Archangel Raphael had warned them of the serpent. Yet Adam let Eve stray away to meet her fate, the consequences of which changed the world.

And in the end God holds Adam accountable for the loss of paradise.

Obama’s Blame Game
Just as Adam did with Eve, President Barack Obama is shifting as much blame as he can onto BP.

According to The Daily Telegraph, BP CEO Tony Hayward’s grilling looked like a kangaroo court. He had to listen to a litany of accusations from United States lawmakers before he was able to say a single word in his own defense: “As far as the members were concerned, he was there to take the blame, whether or not there were mitigating circumstances, or companies other than BP should be sharing culpability. It was as though, in a criminal trial, the victim’s statements were being read out before the verdict had been passed, although that was a foregone conclusion—a resounding ‘guilty.’ A kangaroo court would have offered a fairer hearing.”

What The Daily Telegraph doesn’t understand is that the Congressional inquisition of BP and Big Oil was never intended to be fair. The goal was to keep the elected elites in office and increase their influence.

Just as Adam thought Eve was a perfect foil, so too, does President Obama think that of BP. And he is right. Last week White House spokesman Bill Burton mocked BP’s CEO and all-around English twit Hayward for attending a luxury yacht race on crystal waters while the Gulf of Mexico is turning into the Black Sea.

Burton opined that Hayward should take part in the cleanup operations in the Gulf of Mexico with the $400,000 yacht he co-owns.

"You know, look, if Tony Hayward wants to put a skimmer on that yacht and bring it down to the Gulf, we’d be happy to have his help," Burton said to a chorus of yuck-yucks in the White House briefing room.

It is almost beyond my comprehension that BP could have such bad PR, from Hayward saying he “wants his life back,” to BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg calling the people of the Gulf Coast, “small people.” But it seems the people of the Gulf are small people, not just to BP but to Obama as well.

The same weekend that Hayward was skipping his yacht, Obama was walking the links. Even as tar balls washed up on Destin, Fort Walton and Panama City Beach, Obama was busy hitting golf balls.

Just as Adam was quick to condemn Eve, the Obama White House sees no hypocrisy in pointing out BP’s sins while denying their own.

Caught Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea
One estimate reported by CNN says the catastrophe of the Deepwater Horizon platform spill could cost just the Florida Gulf Coast alone 200,000 jobs before it is all over. Yet the cost on all of us is only starting to climb. Seafood is becoming more expensive and oil prices have resumed their climb towards $80 per barrel.

It is important to note that before the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon, the Gulf of Mexico was producing about 1.6 million barrels of oil per day. That is almost a third of domestic production.

If the Obama administration follows through with an overall ban on offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, and further tightens the screws on exploration in Alaska, the consequences of this crisis will have a devastating affect on our oil needs.

Last week a New Orleans Federal judge lifted the six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling imposed by the President, saying: “The court is unable to divine or fathom a relationship between the findings and the immense scope of the moratorium.”

However Interior Secretary Kenneth Salazar responded that he will issue a new order on deepwater offshore oil drilling.

“We see clear evidence every day, as oil spills from BP’s well, of the need for a pause on deepwater drilling,” Salazar said. “Based on this ever-growing evidence, I will issue a new order in the coming days that eliminates any doubt that a moratorium is needed, appropriate, and within our authorities.”

Expect the White House to throw its full weight behind suspension of deep water drilling. And that is bad news for the nation which desperately needs oil from the Gulf of Mexico. Without it we will be left begging OPEC.

Does BO Have A Backdoor Deal With BP?
Meanwhile BP has kicked in $20 billion to pay for their mistake. That led Congressman Joe Barton (R-Texas) to apologize to BP saying that the $20 billion escrow fund was a “shakedown” by the White House.

I think Barton was not only ignorant of the political winds but was dead wrong. I believe that BP and the White House made a deal for the Federal government to funnel that money back to BP in the back door. One of just a handful of ways for this to work would be to give BP sweet deals on future leases.

In the end it will cost the taxpayers more than it will cost BP. Still, Obama probably considers the price tag a bargain if it can turn the nation Green.

“The motivation for allowing the well to blow and prolonging the crisis isn’t merely financial, it’s political too,” writes Prison Planet. “The motto for the people who pull the strings inside the Obama administration, people like Rahm Emanuel and Hillary Clinton is to ‘never let a good crisis go to waste’—and Obama himself has certainly taken that to heart over the course of the last two months.”

Prison Planet speculates that Obama and BP are joined at the hip: “The Obama administration has aggressively exploited the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico to manufacture an artificial urgency in an effort to speed the passage of cap and trade in pursuit of a ‘green economy,’ an agenda firmly supported by the transnational oil corporations Obama is claiming to be reigning in. British Petroleum is one of the founding members of the cap and trade lobby, and has consistently lobbied for greenhouse gas restraints… and subsidies for oil pipelines, solar panels, natural gas and bio-fuels.”

Prison Planet concludes that BP stands to profit to the tune of billions.

Unfortunately what is good for BP is not good for the U.S. Some economic studies have indicated that going Green costs 2.2 jobs for every new job created.

In the Gulf, not only are shores being infected with a killer sludge, but now the Federal government is putting a moratorium on drilling. At stake are hundreds of thousands of jobs for people who have neither the time nor the money to go to yacht races or country clubs. It is their, and even our, paradise lost.

Cute! Walk the walk, looks like your going through pushing people around who don’t agree with you and this so-called President, and prase the ones who do. Nice touch, now why don’t you walk off and talk some where else instead of playing this childish bulling game. Typical of a Liberal to stup to degrading and name calling to try to make himself look good!

  • Take it or leave it!

Sorry to say it, but no matter what any of you defending Obama say, as bobinpa has passionately commented, Obama has done nothing but lied and deceived the American people. This notion that there are no facts as norm and every other defender of Obama has tried to point out, is a last desperate attempt to keep this president of welfare entitlements and hater of capitalism in office. This discussion has gone beyond trying to prove ones argument by fact-finding, with this guy its hard to tell what the facts are. People see a guy who looks at his job almost like hes Bruce Almighty, if you’ve seen the movie, where all the power has gone to his head and with this new power hes going to pass everything that benefits him and his agenda, not whats good for America. Now, those are the facts, Norm and not just a bunch of rambolin. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist or a professor fact-finding to prove his theories, to figure out what this President is doing! You Obama-defenders need to take a step back, listen instead of criticizing these people for what they feel about this guy, and really take a look at what you voted for. This guy has fooled a lot of people on the outside, but now the true Obama has emerged from within and nothing about him is good.

If everyone got a dollar each time they told a lie, Oblama would be the richest man on earth.

        Would you care to elaborate.

      • John

Norm, excuse 45 Caliber for accusing obama of being a liar.
We all know he doesn’t lie.

He just lacks integrity, that’s all.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Nah, Im think Bill and Hillery along with John Kerry would be right up there at the top. It used to be when I was little, my mom would say “your going to go to hell for lying”. Im sure pretty much all moms said that. Now days, I tell people “You know where your going to go for lying”, and they say, “Yeah I know, to hell”, to which I say, “No, to the Clinton cabinet”.

I’ve worked in the chemical industry for over thirty years now. I’ve worked in a plastics plant for the last ten years or so.

Plastics are made from oil. So we deal with a lot of it. There are several places in the process that could be dangerous if not controlled. We have so many different safety measures in place that if one fails there are probably half a dozen more that can catch it.

BP owns and operates chemical plants too. They have the same need for safety measures. So I doubt if BP is used to doing without safety measures on platforms.

Yet all I hear about is ONE safety device that failed. We have flash surpressors on all vents to prevent any explosion. We have flares to burn off any gas that might escape. Yet nothing like that worked on the drill rig. It exploded. There is only ONE way I know to stop all safety devics from operating at the same time – sabotage.

Further, it takes oxygen mixed with the gas or oil to make it burn – and oxygen can be found only in the air. What made it explode at the bottom? There is only one way I know about to cause such an explosion. Again, sabotage.

In addition, oil platforms have at least four legs to provide stabilization in the water. The oil rig can’t bob with the waves or it would tear up the piping. They tow a rig to the site and then partially fill the legs with water to stabilize it. The legs are also the flotation devices that keep it afloat. They are at the perimeter of the platform and for the most part are under water. If they have a hole at the top, it means nothing – all boats do for instance.

The ONLY way an oil platform can sink is when more than one of the legs are ruptured below the water line. Further, there are decks inside the legs which can be sealed off. Those decks must also be ruptured – or someone has to leave the sealed doors open between decks. An explosion above the deck as was shown will not bother the legs at all. Only one reason I know will – sabotage.

I don’t know that sabotage is the factor and I certainly hope I am wrong. But it is interesting to note that the platform is no longer available to inspect for causes of the explosions. And the timing is so noticeable. Oblama agrees to let more drilling go on – and two weeks later the explosion. Now he wants to shut down all drilling. Further, he’s not allowed any of the things he should have done to allow BP and others to stop the oil spill and the spread of the oil.

    • DaveH

      Excellent comment, 45.

    • Norm

      45caliber
First you make up a totally unsubstantiated premise. Then you build on it. Input a little paranoia, and now you have totally nonsensical conclusion.
It reminds me of the conspiracy plots on the Trade Center of 9/11. Only then the neocons were on the side of reality for a change.

      • 45caliber

I fail to see your comment about an impossible premise.

All comments about the chemical industry are actual. In fact, they are sometimes too actual since it is a pain to put in all those safety items such as flares, flash surpressors, etc.

I will admit to some speculation on the actual cause of the (multiple) disasters at this site. There MIGHT be another reason and I’m waiting to hear it. As I said, I don’t know for sure – yet. But I do know what safety equipment would normally be used, I do know how hard it is to stop all of it from working WITHOUT sabotage, and I do know how the drill rigs are supported.

        What is your explanation?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I agree, and everything Ive read about these safety blowouts, are that all of them cannot fail at the same time, without something hokey going on. I still think someone got the switchboard, probably a greenie with an agenda that oil is bad, and made this happen to be able to piss everyone off at the oil companies. I would not put that past them. I mean, look at the radical things they do. They have driven spikes into trees that have made chains come off saws and cut guys arms off. They have burnt down SUV dealerships. They have burnt down condominium projects. They ram fishing boats with their boats. They dont care, they push their agenda at all costs, and feel they can do no wrong. This is the type of guys we are dealing with, with the greenies. I think one of them got a job there, and did this.

  • http://www.adobemachine.com Dan

Just remember this folks, It’s all about the power. No matter what the situation the Liberal left with their pet media spinsters will drive EVERY situation for their accumulation of power. How much of what you see is actually fact? If the media says it’s so don’t believe it. I’m waiting for the power grab just like Clinton in 94.

  • Robert Palmer Smith

“Prison Planet speculates that Obama and BP are joined at the hip.” That is excellent speculation because it will not be the first time that BP has been ‘joined at the hip’ with government. The undersigned, along with BP, were active participants in legally(?) breaking the embargo imposed by Great Britain and the UN on Rhodesia in 1965. May I take the liberty of quoting from the DARKEST TRUTHS OF BLACK GOLD, “……the factor that allowed a British Government majority owned oil company (BP) to continue to supply petroleum products to a country, a country that had been embargoed by that very same majority owner, was the British Government’s need for the economic impetus represented by the South African economy.” BP has been ‘in bed with government’ for so many years that it just comes as second nature ‘to be joined at the hip’.
However, now is not the time to raise all these probabilities. They should be allowed to concentrate on the job at hand – stop the leak-and when they are successful, then all the questions of how and why need to be answered.

One comment that Oblama has made about BP has caught my attention and he said is several times. “I’m going to make BP pay ME twenty billion dollars.”

Why does HE get the money?

        45 he’s the head dclk-tater

Since you put that in quotes, can you back that up with a link to where he said it ? Did a Google search and got no results.

JOHN MYERS – GREAT ARTICLE – THANK YOU…
It’s a terrific article, and I agree with what you say.
There is one particular issue on my mind. Why did Obama meet in the Oval Office with only the Chairman of the Board of BP? Any intelligent meeting should have included Tony Hayward, the CEO and Operations Manager. He is the person that would provide information, not the Chairman of the Board. Here’s my guess, the deal was made between Obama and B.P.’S Chairman of the Board. The fact that Hayward was not included makes me believe that Hayward wasn’t in on the deal. The Congressional Committee looked like a bunch of thugs. When Burton stated that he felt it was a “shakedown”, and then took back his words, I was really angry. The $24,000,000,000 escrow count was not a “shakedown”, it was pure extortion. Obama didn’t have the right to appoint himself the Supreme Court. He is the Executive Branch, messing around with the checks and balances of our Constitution (which he hates).
Hayward was told to limit his replies at the Committee Hearing. This was after the meeting between Obama and the Chairman of the Board. The Committee looked very ignorant and cruel. Good luck with your elections!!

Hey Norm. Bobinpa is right on, Obama is a liar and if you cant see that then you are either stupid, or just a progressive opps the same thing. When the collapse happens you will still be in denial, which is a good thing as you would have not prepared “because the government will take care of you right?” Well then you have the possibility of staving to death and therefore there is such thing as poetic justice! And buy the way where is the birth cert Huh??? Comi

    • Conservative at Birth

The Progessives, ie. Totalitarian Socialists, are not stupid. Obviously they are very devious, and capable of deluding are large portion of the population. Calling them stupid will not change their success at deception.

      • DaveH

Whether they are intelligent or not is a matter of debate. But what they do have that Conservatives don’t is a lack of honor. They will say or do whatever it takes to get their way, damn morality.

      • John

        Dave H,
Exactly, just as some of obama’s own left-wingers are turning on him and like the one that’s responsible for McChrystal’s dismissal.
True they have no sense of loyalty, especially to this Great Country within which they reside.

  • OneDamnAngryAmerican

There is only one reason why we have this mess in the Gulf. On day one, BP should have been ordered to cap this well and shut off all production of oil from it. As I type this post, BP is still being allowed to produce from this well, even though it is leaking at least 60% of it’s crude into the Gulf. Why is this? Since day one, not one elected official, from the WH or from the HOR made a demand that this well be capped and all production stopped. This is the “only” reason why we have this mess, today. Think about it! And, if you aren’t capable of comprehending my comment, you can ponder this one. Both the President and the HOR have received more campaign funds from BP then any other president or member of the HOR have ever received from BP, IN ITS ENTIRE HISTORY! And, on another note, even if this mess is cleaned up, which it won’t be, the negative effects on tourism, home sales, jobs and commerce in the Gulf states will NEVER recover. To this day, you can still walk the shore of Prince Edward Sound and “smell” oil! Why is that? Bill Clinton was apparently correct, when he noted that the “average American citizen is nothing but an idiot!” Or, words to that effect!

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Having been to Prince William Sound, I found it to be pristine as it was before the Exxon Valdez spill, and I did not smell or detect the scent of oil anywhere. Are you sure you werent working on your car and it was on your hands or rubbed on your nose or something?

  • Winston W

If we were to use the assets we have on land and there were to be an spill— would’nt be easier to clean??— Safer and less exceptive on land??– Also help get the USA away from the countrys that do not like us. I believe the environmental people are part of the problem , all they say is –no not here, no not here. They do not seem to help give any answers , just no not here. IF YOUR NOT PART OF THE SOLUTION YOUR PART OF THE PROBLEM !!!!

    • American

I’ve often wondered Winston, why there has been no drilling on the Balkan (am I spelling that right?) reserve. The largest reserve in the world sits under the Dakotas, in the wilderness no doubt, and is easily accessible yet no one is drilling there. We could completely supply this country long after other wells have dried up and stop depending on other countries if we were to tap this source. Is there anyone out there that can give me a fact-filled argument against this? I don’t mean tree huggers who spew out a bunch of baloney either; I mean a good case against drilling there.

      • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

        Dear American,

John Myers has repeatedly spoken about about the Bakken formation. Following is the text of one of his recent responses to the question:

I really wish readers would stop saying there is an oil bonanza in North Dakota. I know some of you have read estimates that claim there are 1 trillion barrels of oil or more in the Bakken Formation. This is nonsense on so many levels.

First there is some oil there, but is not in easy to access pools.

Second, U.S. oil reserves stand at 21 BILLION barrels.

In fact the 1 trillion barrel number that people are kicking around for the Bakken Formation would double all existing oil reserves in the world. Meanwhile, since the Bakken “discovery” a decade ago the price of crude oil has increased by almost four-fold.

Finally, who thinks BP and others are drilling miles into the Gulf of Mexico if there are hundreds of billions of barrels of oil in North Dakota? Here is a hint: the population of Bismarck is around 100,000. It has increased by 10,000 people in the past decade. Hardly a gold rush to cash in on that trillion barrels of oil.

If you don’t believe me come to Calgary and talk to the people that make their living drilling for oil and gas. They will tell you that in terms of the big picture, the Bakken Formation is a joke.

I hope this answers you question,

        Best wishes,
        Bob

THis along With countless other reason why Obama should be Impeached along with his fellow Anti-American Subversives in Congress that’s if this country is to survive their attemps to destroy it. IT’S TIME TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH THAT HOLDS OUR GOVERNMENT AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE PRISONERS OF THEIR TYRANNY IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

    • http://m.villa@insightbb.com WalktheWalk

      James,
They didn’t impeach Bush and did a lot worse at his job. I am sure there is an impeachable offense that falls under just plain ignorant..

      • 45caliber

Frankly, I fail to see how ANYONE could do a lot worse than Oblama is doing. And if you could impeach anyone for ignorance, Oblama would have already been gone.

      • Jeep

WtW, and where was President Bush worse? Maybe unemployment numbers…no, still steady at 10%. Maybe taxes….no, new taxes and a whole bunch more slated for nest year, and the Bush tax cuts expire. Maybe deficit spending…way no, these guys have outspent every previous administration by far. Maybe scandals within his administration…definately no, do I need to list all the tax evaders? How about vacation time…no. Wait, maybe it was in the appointment of so many czars…no, not that either. So, where was President Bush worse?

      • WarriorH

I think Bush was the one that gave Eve the fruit! Yea, that’s it, it was Bushes fault.

      • Marc

Going to war with the wrong country over 9/11 ? Not saying a change in Iraq wasn’t needed but how about doing things for the right reasons ?

      • 45caliber

Going to war with the “wrong” country? What country would you consider the right one? After all, terrorists are all over the place. All Bush promised was to try to root them out – regardless of where they could be found. I think he was trying to do that. At least we didn’t have any other attempts on us by terrorists. So far with Oblama we’ve had at least two.

      • DaveH

Then, we have the grounds to impeach you, WTW.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Really. Again with you, lets bring some facts into the equation. Under Bush, employment at an all time high in this country, un-employement at an all time low. Stock market at an all time high. Millions of people freed in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the worlds most brutal dictators brought down. United States kept safe from terrorists that Bill Clinton allowed in the country to set up 9-11, the same guys that punched us in the nose time and time again as Billy grabbed another cigar. Seems to me, that when Bush left unemployement was at like 4-1/2 percent. Obama has constantly been 10 or more, and its going to get worse when he cancels the Bush tax cuts which is coming up soon. So seriously, you just got caught lying, and besides man, Bush has been gone almost 2 years now, so can we concentrate on the lack of action being taken by this current admin for the last two years? Can we? I mean, when Bush took over from Clinton, Billy had the economy in the tank. It was bad. Never once did Bush and his boys stand on their pedestal and point fingers and blame Clinton. No sir. They rolled up their sleeves and went to work, and did what they said they were going to do, and got the economy rolling. Why doesnt this lackey in power now do the same, and climb down off of his pedestal, put his pointy finger away, and roll up his sleeves and get to work? Why? Because he has no plans, no course of action, no leadership skills, nothing. All he has is that little pointy finger he used to get elected. Thats it, and the blame everyone else thing is getting quite old sir. Quite old.

Most do not believe for a minute these were ” accidents”.
Why we feel the media can’t be trusted to be honest with the public!
We have all e-mailed Reps and the media and are ignored. When something smells bad it is usually rotten and this smells very bad! Most of us have not been fooled.
The Obama regime gave George Soros 200 billion dollars to drill offshore in Brazil and he is the largest stock holder but why would he need two stock numbers ( shown Below)?
The Obama regime needed this disaster to grow as large as possible for two reasons:
1- To push Cap and Trade
2- Bring in more oil from Brazil
That is why Obama was so slow in reacting and why he refused then and is still refusing outside help. It is also the reason for the moratorium
on drilling. All the blame is being put on BP to cover for the fact that the government is working hand in hand with Soros and the fact they forced BP to drill that deep.

The fact that not one mention of the possibility of foreign/domestic terrorism/sabotage being the cause of even one of the ” accidents ” happening within one month just screams cover-up!

Check out the one month timeline.
On March 31,2010 Obama announces he will OK off shore exploration and expanding coal mining. Same day it is reported Sachs Goldman Sachs Asset Management (US) sells off 4,680,822 shares? Coincidence? We would like to know if any of the money went to buy shares in .Petroleo Brasileiro S.A.Petrobras?

April 3, 2010 An explosion and fire at a Washington State oil refinery has claimed a fifth life.
April 5, 2010 W Virginia coal mine explosion kills 25 April 20, 2010 Oil Rig explosion
April 20, 2010 Deepwater Horizon rig, 11 killed
April 30, 2010 2 men killed in KY mine collapse
May 5, 2010 The AGE Refinery truck explosion and fire happened shortly before 11.30am local time on San Antonio’s south east side.

These are the top 5 holdings of George Soros

    1.Petroleo Brasileiro S.A.Petrobras (PBR) – 9,818,323 shares, 15.42% of the total portfolio
2.Hess Corp. (HES) – 5,123,198 shares, 10.56% of the total portfolio
    3.Petroleo Brasileiro S.A.Petrobras (PBR-A) – 5,884,700 shares, 7.53% of the total portfolio
4.Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc. (POT) – 1,978,053 shares, 7.06% of the total portfolio
5.Plains Exploration & Production Company (PXP) – 6,526,400 shares, 6.84% of the total portfolio

Note that there are two Petrobas stock numbers (PBR and PBR-A, numbers 1
    & 3 listed above).
This looks interesting to me considering the Soros-Obama connections.

The media and government are silent now about the first so called ” whistler blower “. Why? Because this is what he said they don’t want you to hear again.
Former CEO of Shell Oil was on Hannity talking about the oil rig explosion and stated that something was very wrong, very bad happened out there because that explosion should never have happened, I E a worker ” accidentally ” shoved another rod down the pipe where that seal was damaged”but that has been conveniently ignored by the media and we haven’t heard from or seen this man in weeks since the people picked up on that part of what he said.
Haven’t you noticed that all the environmentalists have been very quiet about this. No protest marches, nothing.
When you consider the fact the very same scenario took place when Bush tried to pass oil drilling, coal mining and power plant expansion. Immediately after he announced the bill the ” accidents ” started happening, there were explosions at oil refineries, power plants and mine collapses until the bill was filibustered by the Democrats this begins to look more like a planned pattern.

      Daenna,

Get your facts straight. None of what you are saying makes any sense..Where did you get your data and who is we..??

“We” is apparently not “you”. And if you are as dense as you appear to be, then you’d do a lot better to keep your mouth shut and learn from the rest of us.

      • Jeep

WtW How much does the DNC pay you for each comment? I am not a big conspiracy theorist, however, Z lists a pretty interesting series of events that did happen. Or, maybe CNN didn’t report on those, whatever. You are very silly indeed.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I think WtW gets his news from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC, so of course he knows nothing about the truth of things, just the left wing liberal agenda they spew to him. Seems to me his agenda doesnt allow him to see the truth.

      • Marc

Would be nice if people would supply links to their ‘data’. Let others judge the validity. I’d like to know that it’s not some ‘space alien invasion site’ .

Along with most of the others posting this site it appears you get all your info from Glenn or Rush. Therefore you are wrong, wrong, wrong!
George Soros divested himself from the ownership group in Brasil. The 200 million came from the previous administration. The year long secret meetings held by VP Cheney removed safety the device (sonic trigger) which would have prevented this whole tragedy.
Try a website which employs less extreme supposition (there will be no back door payments to BP) or any other oil company.
How about calling Obama a Kansan as his mom was from Kansas and she was a Christian. Obama never practiced or adopted the muslim religion. Sadly, many of us are named, none too happily after our fathers. We can’t help where we come from but we can decide where we go. Obama went to the White House and I’m happy for it!
Oh, and people there is something called spell check, try it.

      • Conservative at Birth

Making sarcastic remarks aout typographical errors as spelling mistakes is counter productive to any intelligent conversation.

      • Conservative at Birth

Can you prove that Obama has not adopted the Muslim Religion? After all he has admitted as much in television interviews.

      • Marc

can you prove you’re not an alien from outer space? The American legal system is based on the persecutor (oh , guess that should be prosecutor) proving a case . Please present your proof .

Secret Meetings that you know the outcome of? Interesting.
Do you have any references, MadDog?

      • DaveH

So MadDog says “George Soros divested himself from the ownership group in Brasil.” When did that occur, MadDog? Since I have proof that he had 7.4 million shares as late as November 2009:
        http://www.fundmymutualfund.com/2009/11/george-soros-reveals-stake-in-ford-f.html
Do you have a more current reference? Or are you just the typical Liberal reporting fabricated facts?

      • TIME

        Dave,
The old adage is a mad dog is just a frothing mouth piece. I think we have one……….

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I dont think he will respond to the truth. Liberals hate being called out and having the truth presented to them. It throws them into a frenzy, because it is so strange to them, that they cant comprehend it.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I think you are in great error. You see, you say Obama’s mom is a Christian. It cannot be. A Christian would not marry a muslim and become one. Someone might tell you they are a Christian and do this, but if she were a real Christian, there is no way. You dont sell Jesus Christ for a false belief. It just doesnt happen. And Obama is a muslim, I heard him say so myself on live TV. They wrote it off as a slip of tongue, but sorry pal, no one can say “it is against my muslim faith” as a slip of tongue. This could never come out of me. Never, because its not in me. He slipped the truth, and they swept it under the rug. And if your happy your president sits there doing absolutely nothing about this oil leak but pointing fingers, hampers the clean up effort by not accepting help so that he can give free money to the unions that cannot skim this oil out, and your happy he uses our tax money to perform abortions overseas, which was one of the first things he did when he got elected. And your happy he gave GM and Chyrsler billions of dollars of our money to buy future UAW votes, and your happy that he has offered no plans, no actions, and no solutions to anything and everything, then I would say you are as he is, part of the problem, and not the solution. How you can back a guy who has screwed up every which way so far, is beyond me. Good luck with your love affair of this community organizer, because after 2012, thats about the only title he will be able to hold on to.

I SEE THE BLAME GAME GOING ON EVERYWHERE EXCEPT THE E.P.A. WHERE A LOT OF THE BLAME SHOULD GO AS THEY SAID NO DRILLING IN SHALLOWER WATER BP DIDNT WANT TO DRILL IN 5000 FT.DEEP WATER BUT WAS TOLD THAT OR NOTHING.

    • 45caliber

There is one thing that still puzzles me. The US does NOT control the entire Gulf. In fact, the government controls only a certain distance off the coast. In the case of FL, they control only about 30 miles.

Was this well even in waters that the government “controlled?” I’m not certain – but I don’t think it was.

      • J.M.R.

45caliber i’ve wondered the same thing i thought they had control of a few miles off the shore and it wasn’t no fifty miles.

      • Jeep

International Treaties usually encompass a 12 mile zone off shore. The US has since around 1945 claimed 20 miles. Areas outside these territorial waters are “free game”, thus we have Chinese oil rigs out in the gulf. And, they are still pumping oil, btw.

      • DaveH

I thought it was 200 miles for economic purposes, but it is more complicated than I thought:

BLAME!! BLAME!! BLAME!! That’s all this POTUS knows how to do!! If he were an executive in a private corporation, he would’ve been fired months ago for being so irresponsible!! It may not be his fault that this BP incident occured, but he’s been so lackadaisical and negligent on solving the crisis. I bet if McCain or Bush were in The White House now, this Gulf crisis would’ve ended weeks ago…..As for the ‘Blame Game”, IMO Obama was to blame for this never-ending recession and high unemployment since 11/5/2008, months before his inauguration. Judging by Wall Street’s reaction to the disastrous 11/4/2008 election, it’s obvious many businesses and investors knew BHO’s policies would be a disaster. Thus there was never any reason to blame Bush for anything!!!!

    • Marc

Why don’t Bush or McCain come up with a solution now? Let’s hear what the would do/have done .

      • TIME

Marc, Thats really novel, how long did you think about that before you posted it, what 1000000000000000000000000000000000 of a second?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

It would have been capped by now if either one of them would have been in office. And if Palin had been in office, they probably would have been drilling safely on land in Alaska where all the safety studies and precautions have been set in place for years, yet the federal government through the eco’s has held it up, and we wouldnt have needed to drill in 5000 feet of water. I know for sure they wouldnt be sitting there doing nothing like this community organizer is doing.

  • http://m.villa@insightbb.com WalktheWalk

Intresting how in one hand the government is at fault and in the other hand “We don’t want big government involvement”"…:) Funny..

    • Raggs

If they create the problem without us knowing, they can then pass new constrants on us and our freedom in order to “fix” the problem.

It’s pretty simple if you think about it. Marxism.

      • http://m.villa@insightbb.com WalktheWalk

        Raggs,

No sure I understand your point. Can you explain so even I vcan understand. Sounds like just a buch of talk with no substance..

      • Raggs

I doubt seriously if it would do any good to explain anything to you!
In the first case you cannot even spell correctly so I’m sure you would be lacking in comprehension as well.

      • JeffH

Raggs, this WalktheWalk character is “fast eddie47D”…no doubt about it…

      • DaveH

I would be very impressed by anybody who could explain anything to you, Walk, so that you could understand.

    • 45caliber

If the government is at fault, why wouldn’t we want them out of the picture? So far both the government and BP is at fault. I agree that the one causing the problem should clean it up.

    • DaveH

Unbelievable, Walk. And “Intresting how in one hand the government is at fault and in the other hand “We don’t want big government involvement””…:)” passes as logical in your Liberal mind?
So, if we thought the Government was at fault, we should want more of it?
      And you called Raggs “Stupid”?

      • John

Thanks Dave, Walk’s comments didn’t make any sense to me either.
Imagine being in a philosophy class with a bunch of liberals like Walk.

      • Claire

Have you ever heard of a person that couldn’t walk and chew at the same time?

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Thats right, we dont want big government. We dont need government running GM, creating more and more social agencies, bankrupting the school system, social security, the postal system, medicare, medicaid, and now health care. They failed at all of these things. What they are supposed to be doing, is making sure our infrastructure of roads and bridges and national parks are well, that our national security is well and that our military is well. That when we let companies drill for oil in the water, that it is done safely and procedures are followed. But they failed in this. This is one of the main things the government should be looking out for, is to protect the environment. This could have been done by drilling in ANWR or many other places. But do to the clout of the eco’s in conjuction with the democrats and other left wing liberal organizations, this is where they made them drill at. And they didnt do their job of making sure the safety of the environment was there. That is what the government should be doing, not giving lawyers to terrorists. Not running baseball courts for steroids. Not spending billions of dollars in legal fees spreading abortion around the world, suing places to take down the Ten Commandments, stopping the Pledge of Allegiance in school. That is the big government tyranny we dont need. We need them to manage the military, the budget, the infrastructure, and make sure drilling for oil and things like that are safe. Thats what they are supposed to do, but they have gotten side tracked with all this other stuff they need not be involved in.

Obambi knew what he was in for when ran for pres. Now the little spineless twerp blames everyone else for his inability to do anything right. Why dont you man up and show the world that you are the man you think you are. “Or get the F’ out” !!

    • http://m.villa@insightbb.com WalktheWalk

      [Offensive comment removed]

    • American

Pete, I don’t think he really did know what he was in for when he ran for the “title” of POTUS. Anyone with the right qualifications to do a job would also have insight as to what the job entailed; he has never had either one. The man has been groomed for this role for many years and after being “taught” and pumped up by the thugs and alinsky followers for so long he, in his vast arrogance, truly thought he could do the job. The problems are, not only is he completely unqualified, he didn’t have a clue what really went on in the president’s seat. Because he has never truly been and American (i.e. one of us) he didn’t realize that politics isn’t simply swearing an oath and then handing over a list of demands. He didn’t realize that there would actually be some who didn’t agree with his ideology and that his wishes wouldn’t just suddenly become law of the land simply because he said so. He’s a narcisist in its purest form and this is why, in his mind, he will never do anything wrong. Everyone else is wrong and everything negative that happens is someone else’s fault. I keep reading, “never send a boy to do a man’s job” and I whole-heartedly agree with that. Then again, so many felt (and still feel) that this is a position in which on-the-job training is acceptable. With all that being said, the truth of the matter is that at this point finding out who’s “ass to kick” is not top priority but his narcisism won’t let him see that. Maybe one of his numerous czars should tell him. The highly questionable election winning (how many of those votes were valid?), non-qualified (no proof of citizenship), no experience man who sits in that chair needs to take a vaction from taking vacations and do whatever it takes to get this mess cleaned up, even if it means bringing in experts in the field and making use of the help offered by our foreign neighbors. If he refuses to do what’s best for this country, especially the states most affected, then he should be tried for treason. I am only one woman with a voice and there is little I can do. But you can bet your sweet a** that I’ll be casting my vote in all elections to help America get back on it’s feet.

      • DaveH

Obama is indeed very unqualified, but no man is qualified to have his hands in so many other peoples’ business. We have let our Government spread like a cancer and, like cancer, it will eventually destroy the host.
There is only one way back to prosperity and freedom, and that is to get back to the concepts that were in place in the beginning of this country. The only Party I know with those core values is the Libertarian Party, the Party of Principles:

Vote libertarian and be a loser.
Let’s go back to 1776 when men were men and life was very simple.
Who needs science and the great progress made since then. With a life expectancy of 40 years we could eliminate most social programs. All you need is a farm, a musket, and crooked preacher. Those were the days!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I am all for eliminating all social programs Norm. Lets all keep the money we earn, be able to have that cash to put aside for ourselves, and learn how to stand up on our own two feet, and not teach our offspring to watch us lay around and collect handouts all their life as a way of living. I sure wish all the money Ive have taken from me for Social Security, Medicare, Federal Taxes and such, and Id pretty much be set for life, and I would need nothing the rest of my life. All these social programs do, since FDR started incorporating them, has made people lazy and content to live off of the backs of the working man, and its high time those days ended. However, the democrats keep making more and more and more of them, and one of the first things Obama did was expand the welfare, food stamp and unemployment benefits. Sorry, get off your ass and get a job. I did it, Obama did it, Bush did it, so why cant anybody else? Thats my point.

  • Raggs

Since obama is the so-called “messiah” I figured he would have used the hurricane to suck up the oil and spread it around the way he wants to spread my pay-check around to his buddies like the unions.

ummmm….no, isn’t Sarah Palin the messiah ? She thinks this can be fixed with prayer…..

      • momof4

        Marc,
Many things have been fixed with prayer.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Well Marc, in response to your comment, I have to say this. I was fixed with prayer, and if I can be fixed, from the broken state I was in, I truly believe anything can be fixed through prayer. Ive seen and experienced things that on a human level cant be done, so yes, I believe in the power of prayer. Some just have faith, some like me, have actually seen. How much more blessed are those that believe and havent seen? Much much more. So please dont discount the power of prayer, as you evidently have no idea of what it is your saying to make that statement.

  • David

Big difference between blame and accountability. You make the mess, you clean it up. We learned that in kindergarten. President Obama didn’t make this mess anymore than President Bush. BP lied about safety. BP made the mess and,to their credit, they are taking responsibility for it and paying the costs. Let’s cut them some slack. Thank goodness President Obama is in charge. If A republican/conservative were in charge, as some have already stated, the tax payers would be footing most of the bill.

    • Al Sieber

Yeah, we should thank our lucky stars David, that Obama is in charge, I’ll make sure it’s in my prayers tonight. what would we do without him.

      • http://m.villa@insightbb.com WalktheWalk

      • 45caliber

When a government refuses to allow the private company to use the equipment and people offered, then it is already involved – and shouldn’t be.

      • Jeep

Are you just now getting into the game? Halftime ended a long time ago. When the govt refused to allow accepted procedure for preventing the spread of the spill on day two, the govt took responsibility.

      • JeffH

        …you can’t even “talk the talk”…

      • DaveH

Oh sure, “Think man”, like the Liberals do when they emulate the failed policies of Socialist countries throughout history.
Maybe, Walk, you can explain to me why the least regulated countries have much better economies than the most regulated countries?
If you want to learn something, pick the country names from this list at the top (least regulated) and at the bottom (most regulated) to see why they are where they are:

A failed state has several attributes. Common indicators include a state whose central government is so weak or ineffective that it has little practical control over much of its territory; non-provision of public services; widespread corruption and criminality; refugees and involuntary movement of populations; sharp economic decline.

Who is paying for that? Us, the taxpayer you jerk. Republicans spent too much money, but one thing they dont do, that the Democrats specialize in, is making social agency after social agency, and keep taxing the hell out of the workers and business’s, to give to those who dont feel like they should have to work. So dont give me your baloney. This president hasnt done a damn thing to help stop this, au contrare, he has turned down help that was offered. I guess you’d rather play circle jerk with your extremist anarchistic buddies than to even consider other view points. It’s sort of like preaching to the choir.
You are right, I do comment on some of the more obvious “dumb statements” and out and out lies.
The wildest thing is the faulty basic premises that some people attempt to extrapolate from.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

But when your comments come from so far a place from reality, just how do you expect us to even consider them Norm? I mean, my gosh man, you have assaulted everyone that ever had a point contrary to yours, then you come back with this rant? You live by the liberal do as I say, because I know whats good for you, yet really, you havent a clue about what is even good for you, let alone me or the rest of us. So come with something good just once in awhile, and itll be much better for everyone.

      • Norm

Suspicions confirmed. You enhance my point. When you neocon radicals have nothing of substance to say you turn to name-calling, and nonsensical raving.
Is truth and reality that difficult to fathom?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Left wing liberal democrats are radicals Norm. You give a lawyer to a terrorist that we caught trying to kill us, and pay for it with my money. That is as radical as it gets. Now go away.

I believe you have to much anger…That does not settle anything.
Obama is our president. Right or wrong we must not let the hate
spill over into our judgment or we are doomed. Pulling together is the answer. If you do not like this man, then you hold meetings, meet with people to make changes in our world. Be active in politics, have town meetings, orginize coffee clutches and talk to your heads of government in your state. Become active. I did after I had enough of Reagan…I have never regreted it. You soon learn truth from fiction….and right now in our country there is more fiction then truth. Thank you.

      • Jeep

45cal, you see…its like this…ummm…he is…well…the prez is…I guess he’s a nice guy, so even if he ignores offers of help in the gulf, prevents the building of berms, and generally gets in the way of any progress in the gulf, well gosh darn it…he’s a nice guy! Oh, and did I mention he’s arc…ummm…artical…uhh…articulate! So give ‘em a pass on this one.

ladyB12 says ” If you do not like this man, then you hold meetings, meet with people to make changes in our world. Be active in politics, have town meetings, orginize coffee clutches”

First, Americans that have political meetings (example:Tea Party movement) are put on a “right wing extremeist” list by DHC, called vile names and are classified as hate mongers and racists by not only the government but also by the leftist MSM.

Second, coffee clutches? You gave yourself away with that one…

If you got tired of Reagan, I would have to say one thing. Move out of the country now. I was born and raised democrat, and it was the Ronald Reagan years that turned me around. It was also around that time that Jesus Christ entered my life and I had my eyes and ears opened, and started to hear and see things they way they really were for the first time in my life. Thank God for Ronald Reagan. If you got tired of that, your not a very strong American.

      • Claire

ladyB12–You are certainly correct about your sentence–” and right now in our country there is more fiction than truth.” But I think you should apply this sentence mainly to our government and the politicians. Americans would not feel this way if we had decent, honest, and logical government. I for one am tired of the same old song and dance. Lies, dishonesty, corruption, greed, lack of good common sense and morals is the name of the game and I am tired of it.

The bible is no tall tale….sounds like you need to do some research yourself. As far as the spill, when gross negligence is apparent, reprimands need to be made and penalties imposed. More importantly, corrected procedures put in place to eliminate a future recurrence. What needs to happen now is for everyone to pull together and quit lamblasting. America’s greatness has never come from fingerpointing blamegamers. Its greatness comes from citizens who recognize a mistake has been made and that we need to address it and help achieve a desired end. Our politicians need to be thinking about American security and American needs for future fuel rather than what is politically correct.

    • BigBadJohn

The bible is no tall tale, it is mankinds “oral history”. Man has been around for 100,000 years but the bible has only been around for 3000 years. Think of Indians sitting around the camp fire telling stories about the past and their great ancestors, that is what the bible is. It was only put down on parchment after man learned to write. Prime example – the story of Noah, it was recorded in Sumeria as the story of Gilgamesh 1000 years before the Hebrews changed the name and wrote it in their bible. Like all stories that are told over and over, it grew and got bigger and grander.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

And your totally discarding the original texts they have, and the dead sea scrolls, correct. Your totally disregarding, that when I asked Him into my life, my whole life changed. Your totally disregarding, that some of us have seen, while laying hands on a person and praying in the name of Jesus Christ, watching a once wretched and crooked and crippled arm straighten out and be restored. And you say its a campfire story? What ever dude. Just because you dont know, doesnt mean all of us dont know. And the main reason you dont know, is because us that do know arent doing our jobs and getting the word out to you. But you have heard, and you reject, and that my friend, is the thing you get to explain one day, face to face with the man. Hope your ready when that day comes.

      • BigBadJohn

The whole basis of religion is FAITH. Those miracles you saw came from faith.

I am sure the same sort of miracles have been witnessed in all faiths, including Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc, etc.

I refuse to question yours or anyone’s faith. But yes the Bible’s origin is questionable. The catholic church was the sole proprietor of the bible and edited it heavily to protect their power.

Even the origin of “ONE GOD” is questionable. The first time the idea of there only being one God was written down, was when the Pharaoh Akenaten proclaimed there was only one god and that he was the son of god. The Hebrews were slaves to Egypt at that time so did Akenaten steal the idea of “one God” from the Hebrews, or did the Hebrews steal it from Akenaten?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

My faith cannot heal someone, either can yours, or anyones. It is the power of Jesus Christ, not mine or any earthly person. The moment someone tells you THEY have the power to do that, you better run from them, because they are not from God if they are claiming the power to be theirs. And no, I do not believe Buddhists, Muslims, or any other so called religion can do these things, as Jesus Christ is the only living God, and the only source of power. Muhammed is dead in his grave. Dont believe me, dig it up and see the bones laying there, right where they were when he died. That gold Buddha can be melted down and made into rings and jewelry. But Jesus grave is empty, as death had no hold over him, as prophesied 2000 years before He came. You all in the dark seem to always forget, that the Old Testament was 2000 years before Jesus, and everything they said was going to happen back then, happened 2000 years later. There is one thing left. The revealing of the lawless one, the Anti-christ. That one is coming. And in case you didnt know, keep an eye on Israel. When you see that Golden domed muslim mosque come down, and the temple being rebuilt there, its real, real close to the end. Everything else it has said has come true to pass, as will this. So you can believe now, or believe later, but you will believe. I guarantee it.

      • 45caliber

Actually the Sumarian story of Noah was about a guy called UrNash. Gilgamesh met him. Gilgamesh was supposed to be an immortal seeking the fountain of youth or something like that. Incidently, ALL writings of that time were factual. No one is sure if Gilgamesh was factual or was the ONLY fiction written down at that time.

And before some idiot insists that the Sumarian story “proves” the Bible is wrong, Abraham was a Sumarian before he was called to be a Jew.

  • Jimmy

Deregulation runs back to Ronald Reagan.

Airlines, banks, wall street, environment, getting the government off your back was job one.

    • ladyB12

Right on Jimmy. Most believe that Ronald Reagan was a saint!
I lived under his rath in California when he was govenor…He had the gift of talking and that was it. Deregulation has caught up with us, and I don’t think we will ever recover. Big business has run this
country now for to many years and lining many of congress and senates
      pockets.

      • DaveH

You two don’t have a clue about “deregulation”. What do you think California is spending all that money on? They aren’t in the trouble they are in now because of deregulation. They are in trouble because the Government is sucking too much money out of the private sector and into the wasteful and inefficient Government sector.
The Electric fiasco in the early 1990s which got blamed on “deregulation” is an excellant example:
        http://mises.org/freemarket_detail.aspx?control=347

      • JeffH

DaveH, correct and you can add in the eco/enviro led government regulations the force businesses out of California.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

So why then did we all live in the greatest prosperity of peace time ever because of the things he did? Why was America stronger than it ever was under Ronald Reagan? Why did it take Bill Clinton 6 years to screw up what it took Reagan 8 to accomplish? Your living in some kine of drug induced world, and you need help. Ronald Reagan was the best thing that ever happened to this country, and for you to deny it, shows you to be a fool.

    • CJ

Yes, thank goodness for the deregulation. Without it, government involvement would have made the cost of energy skyrocket and we wouldn’t be able to afford it. Let the econony decide where prices should be. Government can do nothing but make things worse. The extent of the spill could have been limited more if the government hadn’t been in the way. Out of the ideal of not harming the environment with human hands, we’ve allowed worse distruction to happen “by accident”. Sometimes neither choice is good. We have to be willing to go ahead and do the “better” thing when the “best” isn’t an option. Inaction is the WORST option, in this situation, but that’s what they chose.

    • Linda

What does it matter whose fault it is at this point? All this time and energy spent by this administration and BP blaming each other, spent in the struggle to posture and look tough could be better spent on fixing the problem. There probably are ulterior motives why Obama has dragged his feet or, what is more likely, he is incompetent and indifferent. The whole disaster has now become a disaster of moral issue and if we the voters don’t stand up and vote out the big players who are driving our country to ruin, we deserve whatever happens to us.

      • TIME

        Linda, Good post.

Really, we know whos at really at fault with this event, as I have said time after time there are “NO ACCIDENTS.”

Where in the bloody world are the EXPERTS on shutting down this mess?

Thats the question of the moment, if there are NONE, then the question is why in the world would anyone drill that deep in the ocean.
Also please do keep in mind that 500 feet is a lot less than 5000 feet as per what the wack jobs in DC made BP drill.

Also keep in mind that BarryO hates the British, so what else is there to say but “WHERE ARE THE EXPERTS?”

      • Conservative at Birth

Exactly, and he hates the Jews as well as the Catholics, Hindus, Buhdists, Baptists, and mainly anyone but Muslims and [offensive word removed].

      • TIME

        CAB,
Yes I have been finding that all to be very TRUE.

And yet Barry Soetoro is giving $5 Billion plus US Tax Payer Dollars to Brazil to drill at nearly two miles deep, oh and that money will go to non other than George Sorus.
And like he needs more American Tax payers money, How many billions did Barry give him already? I hear its well over 20 Billion.

** So can anyone of you great thinkers that feel that Barry Soetoro is such a special guy can you tell all of us why its ok for drilling at near 2 miles deep in Brazil where as in the Gulf of Mexico at 500 feet is tabooooo..

Oh and why is it Barry Soetoro has such distain for the Britsh company?

And while your at it please explain why we American Tax Payers need to give MORE MONEY to George Sorus you know the guy who’s NET worth is well over 20 Billion dollars?
You know the guy who works for the Rothschild family, the one who gave Barry Soetoro over ONE BILLION Dollars to run for US President, the guy who owns Move on dot Org. amoung other sights.
And while your at it please explain why his finger prints are all over Cap & Trade? Or The American Power Act. And CCX?
You know that guy who as he said he “Hates the Free market,” and “Americans are the problem with the world”?

We all – await some form of Briliance so please indulge us.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Thats because Barry and the democrats OWE George Soros, who OWNS them. He bought and paid for them a long time ago, and now its time for them to pay him back, and that is going to bring some really bad stuff to the United States of America. Soros hates America, and when you see the democratic party has gotten in bed with him, what does that tell you about their party? Anti Americans, every stinking one of them. That is why Evan Bayh of Indiana resigned, he couldnt stand being one of them anymore.

      • Dagney

Finding where fault lies is LEARNING from mistakes. However, using the KISS principle (keep it simple, stupid) I can see that REGULATIONS and a Marxist government are the problem. They were drilling HOW FAR out to sea? And, WHY is that? Oh, yeah, government regulations forced on a free country by MINORITY enviro-communist groups. They can’t “plug the damn hole” WHY? Oh, yeah, only mechanical robots can get to it. Now, the only choice is for the GOVERNMENT to send a submarine down there with a nuke to plug the hole. How SOON do you think THAT will happen??? In the meantime, we have a Marxist president who has PURPOSEFULLY sat back and played golf and went on vacation, while making sure NOONE else was able to do anything to help alleviate the damage to our shores. Using the KISS principle again, WHY? Hmmmmm…..Cap and Tax?? Ya think?

Seriously, regulations only hurt legitimate business. The only reason regulations become born is because of CRONY capitalists and the communists who fled Europe in the 1980′s (yeah, maybe we can BLAME Reagan for THAT! LOL!) latched onto our Enviromentalist groups. These huge corporations want to eliminate competition. The commies in the enviro groups just want to eliminate our freedoms. So, they lobby government and new regulations are born. DE-REGULATION and Term Limits are the only way to blunt all this corruption.

If you don’t believe me about the Environmentalist Groups being commies now, why aren’t they screaming bloody murder over the damage to our shores? You know they would be if a non-Marxist was in the White House right now. No, the groups are silent because it’s their political side that is causing the damage. You can hear individual envirnmental people crying over it. Yes, they are not the problem because they are just like the rest of us. They are sad over the damage being done. It’s the big groups giving Obama a huge pass and THANKING him.

Yes, there’s a reason for everything and it’s usually very SIMPLE and sometimes quite sinister….IF you use your critical thinking.

      • 45caliber

PLEEEASE don’t nuke that hole! With the pressure of the oil beneith it that is causing so much oil to shoot out, any attempt to bomb the hole closed is FAR MORE LIKELY to simply open it up. You would crack or melt the ground from the explosion.

Further, creating a billion tons of steam at that depth would cause an even greater explosion when it hit the surface. That would cause a tidal wave that would make Noah afraid. And the Gulf is too small for the tidal wave to be able to disapate before it hit everyone.

      • DaveH

I agree, 45. Nuking the hole would be a huge gamble with unknown consequences.

      • Jeep

45cal…buddy, you and I are generally in the same cirlce, but it can be done. A small nuke properly placed will create a glass bubble that has a very good chance of plugging that darned hole, without creating a huge tidal wave. Just be opened minded about this. Of course, this class clown will never let this option be considered, so its probably acedemic anyway.

      • JeffH

I heard a pretty strong arguement for a small nuclear blast deep(+18,000 ft) that would cause the sealing of the leak by melting the sand and earth around and over the hole. We’re not talking about a blast like Nagasaki or Hiroshima and apparently there has been testing done by US scientists and this method has been done in the Soviet nion in the past.

      • DaveH

18,000 feet – 3.4 miles, and you think that would be safe? Good luck on that one.

      • JeffH

…perhaps DaveH, you can give an explanation of why it wouldn’t work. It’s said that the secondary drilling won’t cause the leak to seal…if the idea is feaseable, why would it be so far out there to “not” work?…we could be staring at years of leaking oil, toxic gases and fumes from this blowup…any better ideas, my ears are wide open?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I agree, and think your totally right, but that would just be the sort of thing Obama and his band of demons would do, to cause some more destruction, and then blame Bush for it. Why? Because that is how they roll.

      • DaveH

And what if it didn’t work, Jeff? What if instead it opened a gaping hole and the oil gushed out?
Like I said, it would be a huge gamble.

      • Al Sieber

JeffH, I have a idea how to fix it. if they built a hugh funnel flipped it upside over the hole with a safety valve on it, and pipe it up to the oil tankers.

  • Mike

Government regulation is more at fault than BP. If the idiot green movement ant they were not in bed together then drilling could be done in places that repairs could be done if a disaster happened. You cannot depend on robots to repair somethng a mile deep in the water. This is Omamas plan to get the Cap and Tax passed, what a perfect situation for him, and a horrille one for us. If He had allowed international help, the oil may never have soiled the beaches, but he had to let the beaches get soiled before the people get pissed enough to fall for this crap. Yeah, Obama can play golf, but others are not allowed anything. The Obama way, make everyone else look bad and the heat goes off of him.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You are correct. It fits his agenda to let it flow and screw up a lot of stuff, that is why he isnt helping at all, and that is why he is a big part of the problem, and refuses to be a part of the solution. What a shameful stance for him to take. Is it 2012 yet? I cant wait until he is gone.

    • Richard Pawley

So why doesn’t President Obama accept the much needed help which we still need when the largest ship in the world for this purpose lies waiting in Virginia, a ship which can clean up as much oil in two days as all our little boats have cleaned up in over two months? Because the union bosses won’t allow it, or so it seems (not the hard working union workers but the bosses who revel in the power and control they have. Even Obama is not free to do what is best for the citizens of the US but must do what he is told, just like most in Congress). It is after all those in Congress who go along with all this and who are ultimately to blame. It is Congress who gave the environmentalists so much power that they can reign as false gods over us and do the stupid things they do. Taking care of the environment is important but those who would welcome even a nuclear war for the sake of the environment are insane. This is just my opinion of course. (“Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?” — Maurice Strong, founder of the UN Environment Programme or how about Ted Turner who said,“A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.” — Ted Turner, founder of CNN and major UN donor, or maybe “We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis.” — David Rockefeller, Club of Rome executive manager. I mentioned the Club of Rome in “THE LAST DAYS OF THE LATE GREAT UNITED STATES” as they first predicted the 21st Century world wide famine in the early to mid-1970′s). Of course we need some control on those who would pollute the environment and rape the earth but we also need, oil, gas, copper, etc. Both parties have been responsible for the mess we are in and the only way we can change this is to change the make up of the 111th Congress in four months. THEY MUST BE REPLACED! We must stop the insane spending and we must reduce taxes or we can just vacation until the USA collapses along with the rest of the world. All the messages written here may make one feel good but it we don’t elect Tea Party Conservatives, Democrat, Republican, Independent or Libertarian, those who believe in the Constitution, the founding fathers, and pay-as-you-go government, then we are headed for the last days of our great country and how we “feel” won’t make any difference. How many who write here are going to Washington at the end of August to protest the take-over of the United States by the communists, socialists, Marxists, and others in Washington? How many are going to vote in November for those who don’t have disdain for the stupid ‘little people’ who vote for them. Someone has said that one of the problems with the US is that we have never lost a war on our own soil, or even fought one, since the War Between the States. Others are convinced that the US is going to break up into several countries after Congress destroys the value of the dollar by their insane spending and new taxes. I don’t know all of what is going to happen and no one does, but some things can be projected. If you earn $38,000 a year but owe $800,000 on 42 credit cards it doesn’t take a genius to predict where you are headed economically. The deficit that Congress has agreed upon this past year and for which Obama gets blamed is something like 1.6 Trillion dollars. If we intended to pay it off in any way but inflating the dollar, well it’s impossible. The deficit FOR JUST THIS YEAR would take three thousand years to pay off at the rate of one million dollars per day! Three thousand years! We have deflation now and will have it for a while longer but when it ends we are going to have prices tripling IF WE CAN REPLACE THE BIG SPENDERS IN BOTH PARTIES in four months. If it’s business as usual and Americans agree to all the new taxes that are coming then I can assure you that the future is going to be bleaker than I would even dare tell you although I touched upon it in my latest book. Pass this on to your friends, your associates, all you know. Really hard times are coming but it is NOVEMBER OR NEVER on whether we are just going to be have a tripling of prices and a doubling of taxes or complete chaos and shortages for years. I’d rather see us go down with a bang than a whimper, but the choice is up to the voters in four months. IT’S NOVEMBER OR NEVER! May God bless America because no one else is going to do so.

“Some economic studies have indicated that going Green costs 2.2 jobs for every new job created.”

Just the other day GE said that going green was creating jobs.

I suppose the jobs lost are the environmental cleanup, regulatory and the armed forces jobs related to securing that oil.

    • 45caliber

They are creating jobs! They just don’t say where or what the jobs are. And the fact that they are killing more jobs is immaterial. After all, they created a lot of jobs taking the census. They are creating a lot of jobs in the Welfare and unemployment office. I’m sure there are more examples of jobs they have created.

Incidently, on average, the US creates about 300,000 new jobs a year – without cutting jobs. I have failed to see it last year.

    • DaveH

When the Government creates jobs, they usually are on the order of make-work jobs which produce products or services that are not generally in demand by the public. In the private sector if your goods or services are not desirable, people won’t pay for them and you go out of business. In the public sector if their goods or services are not desirable, they just raise taxes and keep on producing those undesirable goods and services.

      • 45caliber

The government doesn’t produce goods – and their services aren’t that great. The ONLY government agency that has been worth the money spent on it is NASA – because of the inventions they have turned out such as the EKG.

      • DaveH

        Those aren’t goods?

      • 45caliber

They don’t produce the EKG’s – they simply designed them. So it isn’t truly goods. It is the research. As I said, only NASA has anything of value. Most services are overstaffed and under worked.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Just like Obama is creating jobs. Enlarging government and creating more government jobs that you and I get to pay for, while jobs in the public sector are continuing to be lost. The guy doesnt care though. He just doesnt care. It doesnt fit his agenda, so he doesnt care. He could care less if the oil stops, because it doesnt fit into his agenda to stop it. He is the worst president ever, as witnessed by his anti-American behavior that continues to raise its ugly head, which makes him far worse than Carter.

    • Doug

I would not be listening to what GE has to say! In the year 2012 when their debt is due and they don’t have the Fed. govt giving them low cost loans they will be bankrupt look at the debt they have on their books they are just like the Fed. Govt. to much debt that they can never pay back!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

But the Government if run by the democrats, will give them a bailout, like GM and Chrysler, that way they can buy more future union votes. Thats what they did, and they will do it again.

Your first statement destroyed any credibility you might have actually garnered from your post. You are clearly a Godless leftist that is determined to destroy this country. The rest of your post is so whacked out that it merely confirms what a loser you are. You and your obungler need to leave this country. Never send a BOY to do a MAN’S job.

        You are quite correct.

        Agreed Sadie has no credability.

Sadie Palein… Wow! Sweetie… You are on a conservative website. Making comments that the Bible is a fairy tale will not win you any points here. Have you ever read the Bible? Perhaps you should read Revelation. It’s very revealing and foretells our future. God is still on the throne and still in control, whether you choose to believe or not.

If we are getting to the ‘end times’, it’s a good thing, right ? The Rapture will take up all the good ones, correct ?

      • Richard Pawley

This is a theory based on a number of scriptures and while it is not impossible it is dangerous to sit around hoping for what may or may not happen (and we certainly don’t know when) when we can be informing ourselves of what is going on around us and what will happen if we don’t vote wisely in November. The monies already spent by the Marxist 111th Congress are already going to cost us dearly, with prices at least tripling once the deflation ends. That too, is something we can’t predict when and with a thousand houses a day going into foreclosure it may be a while yet. Although believers in the Bible are not supposed to be “of this world” they still have to live “in this world” and hence they need to be informed, and they need to seek truth and not rhetoric, and they need to vote in a country where that is allowed. I am personally convinced that the election in November 2010 will be the most important one of our lives. If we wait until 2012 which is also important, it will be to late! It is NOVEMBER OR NEVER.

    • Buster

You are 100% right. The bible is a work of fiction, and these conservatives would rather believe a book written 2000 years ago by near ignorant savages than the discoveries of modern science.

Do any of you atheists ever wonder why modern day scientists are making new discoveries consistently that agree with and support the teachings of the Bible? Even the History Channel, known for their Godless and liberal leanings, is airing shows that prove the connections. They are reporting the facts of their findings and relating them to the corresponding verses found in the Bible. Are you so smart that you know all the answers and believe that scientists who spend their lives studying these things are simply wrong? Or that Christianity has been alive and well for thousands of years but the billions of people who believe(d) in God all this time have been wrong and up until now no one was enlightened to the truth as you are? I pray for you all and feel sad that your short life here on earth precludes the eternity you will spend burning in hell because your arrogance prevents you from admitting that there is One greater than yourself. And I’m not talking about obama. It’s a tragedy that, because of your refusal to let God into your heart, you won’t spend that time in the glorious presence of our Maker.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

If science spent a tenth of what it spends on trying to prove evolution, and spent it on proving creation, they would have it allready. There are places in Iran and Syria and other Muslim strongholds, that are fenced around and contain key archeological finds, that they are afraid to destroy, but do not want the world to see, and science goes no where near it. But they still try to screw together false things and try to tell me that a bird crapped on a rock, the sun fermented it, and man stood up and walked. Or that some fish thought “Hey, it looks good up there”, so they grew lungs and started walking and left the water. Yet other fish decided they liked being a fish and stayed there, unchanged to this day from prehistoric times. Unbelievable. They have for years put atheists on the History Channel, and present them as “Biblical Scholars”, and then they prostitute the Bible and out and out lie about what it says, twisting it and turning it to where it is a farse and out and out lies. Science can do some good things, but they also are responsible for some very damning things. I am amazed how so many of them, who are supposed to be so smart, are so stupid that God is right in front of them and everywhere, and yet they play act like He doesnt exist, because they think so high of themselves, that they can explain things, and not even take Him into account. Many of them, are just sad little men, and thats too bad. Just like many of us in life, they spend much to much of their energy in the wrong direction.

        BELIEVEING IS SEEING MY FRIEND

      • Richard Pawley

There is some truth to this. People who claim to believe in the Bible need to be living it, in other words living lives such that others know there is something different about us. Sadly those who are convinced that they are God or that they can be God or that their party is Godlike often miss this. I’m reminded of a teenager in the old Soviet Union who was arrested and hauled away because he was a Christian. “What a waste,” said his teacher, “and he had the highest grades in the class”. It never occurred to the teacher that the fact that he was a Christian undoubtedly contributed to his being the smartest student in her class. Christianity, as I more or less pointed out below, is about accepting God’s love for us and accountability. It is not difficult as some make it out to be. The trouble is that some would prefer to make themselves out to be God and that job is already taken.

      • Jana

        Very good post Richard. Thanks

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I am a Christian, and I am a sinner. Im a fallen man. But I know there is a God, and I know that Jesus Christ came and died on the cross for me, and rose 3 days later. I know it because he showed me and instilled the truth in me when I called out for Him to come into my life. Without Him, I am nothing. I am just a vapor. I will let my fellow man down. I will say things I shouldnt, and I will lose my temper time to time. But I do know from whom my blessings flow. I do know who to turn to for forgiveness, to lift me up out of the mire of this world. Anyone who tells you they are a Christian, and presents themselves as perfect and without sin, well they are lying to you, and most likely are something else. I try my best to help others, and to be giving and caring, but sometimes my human flesh gets in the way and I get selfish. We all do it. Its just that as time passes, I do it less and less, as I am aware of God’s presence in my life, and Im getting better all the time. It is a constant process. So you in the darkness, without God, dont count someone out when they fall, or say they are not a Christian because they sin. You do it. I do it. We all do it. We may not want to, but we do. That is the whole reason Jesus Christ came here for us, because we cant do it by ourselves. We need Him to cleanse us and forgive us. Once you realize that, life gets a lot better.

Would that list of discoveries include an understanding of what happened when God said “Let there be light….”?

Remember that the Big Bang Theory is still a Theory.

      • Buster

A scientific theory is an explanation of a set of related observations or events based upon proven hypotheses and verified multiple times by detached groups of researchers. Darwin’s Theory of Evolution is proven to be true every day when monkeys like you post this god drivel.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Sure pal. Like the scopes monkey trials, where the evolutions were supposedly proving evolution, and got caught fashioning cow bones into bones in human skeletons trying to show the change from walking on all four’s to walking erect. Dont you seriously think, that will all the science in the world, all the technology, and all the billions of dollars science has poured into trying to prove evolution, that if it was true, they would have done it by now? Come on man, get real. You may have been a monkey or fish once, maybe you still are, but not me. I was created in God’s own image. Male and Female he created us. He gave man all authority over the beasts of the field, sea, and air. Do you see the difference there? Man was given authority over all these. He didnt derive from them. He was made to rule over them and have dominion over them. And we do. Do you know what the rainbow is a symbol of? If not, do yourself a favor and start reading your Bible. Pray for wisdom before you do, and you will soon understand.

      • Vicki

A Scientific theory is still just a theory. A theory is as described the currently best explanation for a set of proven hypotheses. If the Big Bang Theory were a scientific law we would not have built the LHC to investigate more of the hypotheses.

      • Ono Nadagin

        Buster go back to school

A theory is a theory until it is proven, and then it is a proof

Yes it is true species evolve… but until the missing link is found Darwins theory man evolved from apes is is still just a theory.

The Human genome shares a staggering similarity with many species not just the great apes.

And as I Christian I believe that when God created the Heavens and the Earth in 6 days… but Gods days were not 24hrs they were million-billions of our years…. lost is translation is that the word used in the old testimant that was tranlated into English as ‘day’ was the Hebrew word ‘yome’. Yome can also be translated into ‘era’ And Era’s can be hundreds of millions of years or longer by definition… Era is a vast period of time.

Interesting. Make Louisiana pay for allowing them to drill. Well, I read that Louisiana actually approved the drilling for much shallower (and possibly easier to fix a problem) waters but it was the federal government that stepped in and said that it needed to be further out (for environmental concerns of course). So who do you blame then? Louisiana for allowing them to drill or our current government (supposedly get pushed to drill deeper happened after Obama became president). Of course, you would probably blame Bush and deregulation. Which is ironic. See, deregulation means that they would drill in the shallower water despite those environmental concerns. More regulation makes those environmental concerns a greater factor and thus is completely fitting with the opposite of deregulation (or your much worshiped Obama regime), so it makes more sense that they were pushed deeper by regulation instead of deregulation….

      • Jana

        Dan,
Many from Lousianna went out to help do some clean up on the water and the Coast Guard sent them home. They were not allowed to even volunteer. What a shame, and poor miss Sadie wants to sue them?

Thanks Claire, but I understood what you were saying.

      • James DelBianco

Dan, The train has been running deregulation bound for forty years… now you say it happened after O-man came into the presidency, because of regulation. Now that is funny. Sad, though humorous, in an ironic sort of way. See how oil was traded as a stock (futures) and it still is today! Do you remember who lobbied for this to come about… Enron. Now that they are gone, and the regulators are deregulated, wait and see what happens when the stock market goes back up (if it ever really recovers) because the price of the “precious” fuel will go up along with it… probably well past the $4.25 per gallon mark it was at. Seems like you are for deregulation. Feudalism, here we come. Very soon indeed.

    • Richard Pawley

      Sadie,
The Bible is the distilled wisdom of God intended to help us live on this earth. “Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth” as the punsters call it. You may not like what is said there if you are choosing to go another route, but the basic truth of the Bible is that God loves us and that we are accountable. What’s so terrible about that? Everything else seems to be a derivative of those two basic facts. Of course there are a lot of things on the surface that seem difficult to understand unless you really dig into them but you don’t have to be concerned with them if you KNOW God loves you and that you can’t do it all alone. By the way you were never meant to do it alone. That’s why God promised and then sent the Messiah, the one who would teach us what counted and what doesn’t (the classic paperback GOD CALLING has over 360 addition things that Jesus taught to a woman in England over 75 years ago and many have found it very helpful as to what counts and what doesn’t). I like the saying some Christians have, “None of us have it all together, but together we have it all”. What’s more nothing mentioned in it’s proper context in the Bible has ever been proven wrong or incorrect. On top of that, in this, the most skeptical and hedonistic generation that has yet lived (ancient pagans would blush at some of what transpires today) the Father of us all, has allowed brilliant scientists to uncover an amazing code, hidden in the Bible, and detectable only by computer (for these days when mankind so desperately needs it). It’s not designed for those who have the gift of faith, but who those who do not and who are truly seeking. One seldom finds what one is not seeking. Ever heard of the Isaac Newton Bible Code Research Society? Their volunteers have uncovered amazing things hidden for millennia by using statistical analysis and the Bible Code software. Of course it isn’t necessary to believe that but I have found it helpful. Now make sure you are reading a good translation of the Bible and not being “guided” by one of America’s 3,000 religious cults into what it means. Millions of Americans are in such ‘churches’ or groups that twist and change things from what they are (even Satan quoted scripture to Jesus) and not much has changed in thousands of years. The Bible Code is not about the Bible per se and there are literalists, both Christian and Jewish who don’t like it or believe it, but that’s OK. In addition to GOD CALLING I have found the short 106 page PRISON TO PRAISE to be very helpful as well as a great adventure story. It’s a true story and not just a man’s book. I even knew one of the women mentioned in the book (at least we corresponded for a while in the days before the Internet was invented). These two books are not promoting religion or church or denomination but truth and understanding. Both books are available from places like eBay and in many stores and have sold dozens of millions of copies. If you are interested in growing as a person I would highly recommend these two books, written a generation apart, even over my own two books. I have found that the Bible is trustworthy although some promoting it are not or are, shall we say, are misinformed. By the way there is nothing you can do to make God love you more than He already does. Nothing! All you can do is draw closer to Him and He will draw closer to you and you will discover you are loved. The two books I mentioned are not for everyone but I think you would find them helpful. May God bless you…RP

You’ll get your chance to tell that to Jesus Christ when you bow down before Him on judgement day. But I for one, hope you change before that happens, and I will pray for you. I assure you it is no fairy tale, as He lives inside of me and has changed my life drastically. You know He is there, your afraid, thats all.

      Sadie Palein,

You are right. The bible is more than a tall tale, its a fraud based on myths stolen from pagan sources.Check it out on the internet.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

It is the Word of God, breathed by the Holy Spirit to men. One day you will get to meet Jesus face to face, and you can tell Him how you feel about this “myth”. By the way, good luck with that.

    • Claire

Sadie Palein–Oh, they did their job alright. BP and the government were too slow on the uptake. Neither of them had the common sense or equipment to deal with this disaster. And turning away help? Give me a break. After all, BP and the government ONLY ruined the economy, the land, and look at all the marine they are killing. You’ll think differently when you have to start paying more for your food, gas for your car, and probably higher taxes. The Americans will get stuck with the aftermath of this mess. Go ahead and praise BP and the government. Get you head out of the clouds and face reality.

      • Claire

        your head

  • Claire

I don’t care about this administration and I don’t care about BP. The government and BP is at fault for this disaster. The incompetency both of them have demonstrated in the handling of this tragedy is appalling. Offshore drilling would be great and would certainly benefit the U.S. but why don’t they realize it should be done carefully? Why don’t they realize that safety comes first? Why didn’t they think of the outcome if an accident happened? Why weren’t they prepared? Sure, accidents happen, but when they do most of it is caused by carelessness, faulty equipment, and the constant greed to make a profit. And this is exactly why I do not approve of offshore drilling. Now they have ruined the gulf, the economy, the beaches, the wetlands, and are killing off the marine animals. I hope they are happy with this deplorable situation. Damn right I am an environmentalist, and when we destroy the environment we also destroy the economy in various ways. These people in charge are supposed to be so brilliant–where is their common sense? None of them have displayed any gumption or logic in the prevention of such a major disaster. We will pay for this mistake of theirs for years to come. None of them have any moral character. They will always play politics until the end of time. I am totally fed up with the apparent lack of respect for human life, the earth, and animal life. Shame on them, no, to hell with them.

    • Al Sieber

I agree with you, it goes a lot deeper then we’ll ever know, we hear rumors it was sabatoge to get us to accept cap and trade and the phony green agenda, or they didn’t put o-rings in the pipe joints, they didn’t use any or not enough drill mud, space aliens did it, the list goes on and on. from what I’ve read it can’t be fixed, the pressure coming out of the pipe is too great (20,000 psi- 70,000 psi) and the depth to the pipe. I read, from the ocean floor bottom the hole is 13,000 deeper, a of total of 3- miles from the surface. the pipe is eroding away from bed rock and fissures are appearing in other areas around the hole. this is killing our oceans, and can kill us in the long run. and Obama just sits on his ass doing nothing. we need to wake up and all together find a solution without the damn govt. they complicate everything.

      • http://NONE COLLEEN

Seems almost biblical to me, they cannt stop it, the oceans running red?? hmmmm we are living in some scary times people …

      • artinthewild

That’s right Colleen. Not only that but remember the illuminate – Obama is their boy and they want to destroy America – so far so good. Remember also that Obama is a Muslim and that the Muslims are sneaking in and pushing their religion and sharia law on the U.S (see Dearborn, Michigan) (Boston) This oil spill is part of a diversion to sneak other things through, inc. amnesty for immigrants. Remember that Obama iwas a do nothing snator and now he’s just following orders.

      • Al Sieber

COLLEEN, I found this in the bible . Revelations: 8:8 and the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea; and the third part of the sea became blood; 8:9 and the 3rd part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the 3rd part of the ships were destroyed. yeah! sounds right..

Yes Colleen, I agree with your quotes from Revelations. You are witnessing the Desolation of the Obamanation….sound familiar.

Tall tale? I beg to differ, anyway

      • JeffH

Al Sieber, I heard yesterday a “scientific” experts aguement for a small nuclear explosive device be inserted deep in the well and exploded. I’m not talking about a Nagasaki or Horoshima sized bomb, but a small scale nuclear device, that when inserted deep in the well, 18000 feet would seal the well by melting the earth around the well. The explosian most likely would not even register on a Richter scale. There has been extensive testing done and apparently the Soviets have implemented and succeeded with this process. He has been involved with the original tests and is supposedly an oil scientist.

      • WarriorH

IF congress would just pass “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”, all our problems would be solved. The flamer, Luis Guitierez, was on Van Sustern last night and couldn’t answer the simple question about securing the borders first.

        ?????

      • WarriorH

        Diversion!

      • Al Sieber

JeffH, I read that also, the Russians had to do that on a few of their oil wells and it worked, they have drilled some wells over 30,000′ deep and had the same problems. this is sitting on a methane gas bubble 2 miles long by ? wide ? deep, if I find out more details I’ll let you know, I’m a independent geologist, so I get “field updates” in the geology world, boring to most people, but, not me.

      • Al Sieber

JeffH, sorry, I didn’t notice you said Soviets until I pushed submit. are you aware of what “Abiotic” oil is?

      • JeffH

Al Sieber, I don’t have a clue…I’m about as unknowledgeable as they come about the technical/geological/scientific side of oil.

      • Al Sieber

JeffH, Abiotic oil is formed naturally in the earth, it does not come from dinosaurs, in fact oil will only carbon date back as far as 1000,000 years. from my notes, that hole is 30,000′ below the sea bed, and they can’t use a “nuke” because of the New Madras fault that is at the mouth of the Mississippi river, this is a major fault and the “Nuke” can cause the tectonic plates to shift, this is probably more than you care to know.

      • Al Sieber

        I meant 100,000 years.

      • http://PLD Tommy

        carbon dating is unreliable

      • James DelBianco

I actually have a way to cap the pipe… or at least control the leak. If you can follow this it is very simple indeed. I understand that the depth will make submersible vehicles necessary only at least I have an idea, that is more then I have heard from anyone else.
A threaded pipe will have to be inserted into the opening.the force of the oil will only be acting upon the small surface area or the difference between tho OD(outside diameter) and the ID(inside diameter) of the pipe. neoprene gaskets can be put into the leaking pipe between the leaking pipe and the threaded (inserted) pipe. The threaded pipe will have a small lip to catch the first neoprene gasket.Next a specially made threaded “ring piece” can be threaded onto the inserted pipe, and threaded all the way down to squeeze the gasket sealing the inside of the leaking pipe with the outside of the inserted threaded pipe. This can be done many times over for as many squeezed gaskets it takes to seal that damned leak. It will certainly take a lot of time. The particulars if you are interested I have worked out. The sealing “ring piece” will have a specially made “sawtooth” shape to allow it to be threaded into the leaking pipe. The matching “sawtooth” shape will be used to screw down the rings with a sort of special ratchet type “ring piece” driver. The problem with this is that it is only one way in and can not be screwed out. If it takes 50 gaskets to seal the pipe, then use 50 gaskets. The threaded pipe will allow oil pressure to escape through the opening in said pipe. That threaded pipe will be fitted with a valve to be left open until the gaskets are in place and squeezed to seal the area between the inside of the leaking pipe and the outside of the threaded inserted pipe. Once enough gaskets are in place to seal the area between the two pipes, the valve can be closed. If the leak does not stop, the whole assembly will probably be blown out of the pipe.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You come up with a plan like that, which probably would work. What I find astounding, is that we have all these so called great engineers and scientists, and all this technology, and your going to tell me that they cant stop this oil from coming out? Baloney. They dont want to stop it, because it fits into someones political agenda that wants to use this oil spill to further their agenda. Its sad that our leaders sit by and watch this happen. Yes, it is BP’s fault and problem to an extent, but also, when a problem arises that affects so many in this country, shouldnt our government be a part of the solution, instead of being more a part of the problem like they currently are? And shouldnt our government, have made sure safety measures were in place before they started drilling this thing, back in February of 2010? What was the Obama admin doing then, and what are they doing now? It appears to me, dropping the ball is the correct answer.

      • TDMW

Did you not hear President Obama say that he was assured that all the safety measures were in place before he agreed to allow them to drill off the Gulf Coast? The government are not drilling experts, and the drilling experts were in way over their heads, obviously.

    • Jim S.

You are absolutely right. The Federal Government shares at least equal blame with BP. When Washington DC creates a regulation or law in the name of Safety or Security it really boils down to a means to limit the personal freedom of the law abiding citizens of this country. If it is not about loss of freedom they are trying to get their hands in the pocket of every honest, responsible, hardworking American. The founding fathers must be spinning in their graves.

    • Hans Brinkhuis

I agree 100% with that article. I Have one daughter who is a marine biologist she just got her master degree at the university in Fort Lauderdale Fl,and now she is working for Fish and Wild Life tn st:Petersburg Fl:she has to dive and preserve Coral and othe species hope it won’t ruin her research.
And the Federal Goverment should help and fund the cost of the whole clean up of the oil leak in te gulf of Mexico, they gave the order to BP to start drilling, and the deepwater rig had a freak acident that cst 11 men their lives who knows what realy happen with that explosion
maybe it was a kind of an earthquake on the bottom of te sea and was created by the drilling what send a spark through the pipes to the rig.And America has to wake up in November 2010 and select a better government man who has more knowledge and expierence to do a better
job as the Obama administration/ Thank You

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Good post Hans. I agree the Obama admin should be a part of the solution, and instead, they have refused help, and have become a part of the problem. This lack of leadership has reared its ugly head once again.

      • Mitch Beales

So in addition to bailing out the banks you believe that the federal government should also bail out BP? I figure they have plenty of money to give ridiculous bonuses to their executives if that’s what they choose to do. They don’t need my help!

    • DaveH

Life is risk, Claire. And for all we know it was no accident. Absolute Power corrupts Absolutely.
The reason we have the kneejerk Big Government that we now have is because so many people have become risk-averse. But the problem is that all the paperwork compliance in the world doesn’t guarantee that accidents won’t happen. In fact, the perceived safety that Big Government brings (at a very large cost) even makes people more careless thinking that they don’t need to worry about being careful because the Government is protecting them.
All you have to do for evidence is look at the auto-death statistics. They have remained relatively constant even after years of growing safety requirements. I believe that is because the more protected people feel, the more reckless they become.

They could lock us all in rubber rooms so we would have no risk at all. We maybe wouldn’t live in longer, but it would sure seem like it.

      • DaveH

        ‘any longer’

      • Claire

DaveH–I know life is a risk at times. But I cannot condone this oil spill. My beef is that they drilled the rig and didn’t have the wherewithal to take care of any problems. That should have been taken into consideration. An ounce of prevention would have certainly been worth a pound of cure in this fiasco. I am beginning to have doubts–why the big delay? Why didn’t BP have the machinery to plug this leak? Unless it was not an accident?

      • Jana

        Claire,
And since this is all playing into the hands of Obama to pass the Cap and Tax bill (what I call it), it sure does sound suspicious.

      • Richard Pawley

The cost of drilling far off the coast and a mile deep is far more expensive than the cost of drilling closer to shore in shallow water. No company spends money it does not have to, so if they were allowed to drill where it is so much cheaper they certainly would have. They drilled in deep water where it is much more expensive (and dangerous) because the EPA made them go there. If we don’t drill for our own oil we will have to buy it at inflated prices from foreigners and the safety rating of the ships that will bring it to us is much worse than that of oil rigs. The problem is we have to decide if we want to have cosmetics, plastics, hoses, tires, synthetic vitamins, as well as heat and gasoline and diesel fuel. All that and more comes from oil. You are right to be upset that the Democrats would not allow ships from other nations who are equipped to capture this oil to do so but again it was because the Dutch ships could only make the oil 99.99 percent oil free and the EPA demanded more (at least that is what was on the TV news last night). I have read that it is the EPA that has kept the most pollution free diesel car on earth out of the United States, the tiny two seater Smart Car diesel that gets 70+ mpg in Canada (it has gotten a 100 mpg in coast to coast tests). The gasoline version is sold in Mexico where it gets 54 mpg whereas they have allowed the gasoline version into this country but only when it was changed to meet our standards where it gets 38 to 41 mpg. Europe is supposed to have higher standards but they can drive this cute little (and very economical) car but not us. We do need sensible laws on major pollution. Thank God for Rachael Carson but we need common sense laws and not insane costly unrealistic ones. Why are our citizens allowed to buy milk and cheese and ice cream made from milk that contains artificial bovine hormones, illegal in every other major nation on earth but good enough for us. Canada even outlawed them because of what they do to the cattle. Isn’t our food part of the environment. Every nation in Europe must inform their citizens when they are eating genetically modified franken-foods but not here. Isn’t the 80% of GMO’s in our food supply a kind of pollution, eating things that nature never created? I don’t eat High Fructose Corn Syrup or worse yet crystalline fructose both of which do not occur naturally, and it is hard to avoid HFCS because it is in 90 percent of processed foods, medicines, jams, many breads, all major sodas, and more things than I have space to write here. I don’t eat beet sugar for the same reason, it’s no longer natural. I pay more to buy organic but the Democrats and some Republicans now want to make even growing your own food something that will come under government control and regulation and their favorite local Marxist in Venezuela has just taken over the food supply and it is rotting in government warehouses while people go hungry. Long live Progressive-Socialism (tongue in cheek) BUT NOT HERE! Congress is totally out of control. They all must be replaced. Even Bill Clinton has said what I said he would have said if he were president, take all the help you can get and seal the leak, and finally after 70 days Obama has decided to accept the foreign help we so desperately need, no matter what the EPA and the unions say. (Now I am not opposed to taking care of the environment but government bureaucrats cannot do that any better than they can do anything else. This is why we have people like Dave Foreman, co-founder of Earth First saying things like. “My three main goals would be to reduce human population to about 100 million worldwide, destroy the industrial infrastructure and see wilderness, with its full complement of species, returning throughout the world.” The Iranians would love him). The point is that if you want change we have one last chance and that is not with just Republicans but with Tea Party Conservatives regardless of what label they are. Even Obama has said we cannot go backwards to the failed policies of the past, and I would add to the failed policies of the Marxists that he and the Progressive Democrats in Congress and even a few Republicans seem to like. We cannot wait until 2012 either or it will be much to late. It is NOVEMBER OR NEVER! That’s just the way it is as all will see next year, one way or another.

In response to a point by Richard Pawley, the Obama admin wouldnt let other countries help, because of the democrats being in bed with the unions, they have it set up that even though they dont have the proper stuff to skim the oil out of the water, the unions were given the work, which amounts to giving them one large amount of money to basically watch the oil flow, because they cant skim it out like the countries that offered help.

Claire, I am so sorry to disappoint you. Neither President Obama, nor BP are to be blamed for this disaster. It’s our sins that are bearing fruits, beyond our imagination.

Technically: BP has oil rigs all over the globe, so why it is, that only the one that is located in the Gulf of Mexico has this huge impact on us. You know Claire, if the Texan Billionaire who actually did the blast can be caught, and all his helpers who actually set-up the blast, it would be a really wonderful thing.

Right now: everyone who does not like Obama, gives him a STRAINER TO FETCH WATER. (My Grandmother told me, since I was a child, to be on the watch for “Those who do not like you, will give you a BASKET/STRAINER TO FETCH WATER).” If we can get rid of Chronic Bigotry, which keeps us poor, we will be a very prosperous, and successful people. The sad thing is, we will rather release the poison of BIGOTRY, and get nothing for it, but a momentary foolish satisfaction, and lose whatever BLESSINGS should have been coming to us. It is time for us all to wake-up, throw the TRASH out, and start living like people, then we will all escape the judgements that we are now bombarded with.

Stop blaming President Obama, and BP. They don’t carry out judgements! It is God who sees what we do, in secret, who rewards us in the broad daylight for all to see. Check the story of King David, in the Scripture. He had a fling with Bathsheba, and he did not escape the judgements, upon his kingdom, in BROAD DAYLIGHT! If Kings, do not escape the judgements that are written, what makes us think that we will. WE ARE A VERY SINFUL PEOPLE, AND GOD WILL JUDGE US, so STOP THE BLAME GAME. WE ARE ALL TO BE BLAMED. OUR FILTHINESS HAS BECOME A HORRIBLE STENCH IN GOD’S NOSTRILS.

However, take courage. We are not the only stinking sinners. The whole world are also on the same path. I am sure that makes someone feel good. I wish we will become a smart people, who fear God’s Wrath, and start pursuing ways, and means to dig ourselves out of our self created HELL! Thanks.

      • Claire

Sue C–Sorry to disappoint you, I stick to my comments. You have a right to your opinion and I have a right to mine. Nothing you can say will change my mind. They are all at fault. Although I do not have to explain myself to you or anyone else, I want you to know that I do I believe in God, but I want to tell you something–God helps those that helps themselves. Yes, we are all sinners, but we have choices. We can be truthful, do what is right, and conduct ourselves accordingly, or we can follow the path of deceit. I am a person that believes the government and BP follows a path of deceit. All in the name of GREED. One of the Ten Commandments is “Thou shalt not lie.” I don’t think God approves of lying and deceit, do you? Go ahead and try to protect BP and the government. That is your choice, not mine. I believe in the truth, and if you do not approve of my comments, don’t read them, and I certainly will not read yours.

Claire – I do so like the way you express yourself – excellent words -

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I think your all wrong. Im a Christian, and I dont believe for a minute that God made this happen to punish us, or that he made 9-11 to punish us. When He has had enough of us, He will deliver this country into the hands of its enemy, and probably a lesser nation, as He did with the Greek, Roman and Medo-Persian empires before us. The farther we move away from God, the closer to the end for the United States comes, and that is a fact. But God isnt going to piddle around with bringing down a couple of buildings and spilling some oil. Think about it. Dont put Him in a box. I think He is a little bigger than that, dont you?

      • Jana

        Bb,
I agree with you on this. I think we have become a nation that has pulled away from the Lord and He is in the process of removing His hand of protection off of us.
We have voted in to the White House someone that has brought dishonor to us and to God. He has refused to honor the National Day of Prayer, yet he invited an Imam and Islamics (Muslims) to come onto the White House Grounds and do their praying to their false god. We have seen the results of this type of activity over and over in the Old Testament. I will say, it did not start when Obama became President, it started with a people so gullible that says we don’t believe there is a God, that voted someone like Obama in as President.
The Christians of this country have been so brainwahsed that we are supposed to turn the other cheek without knowing what that really meant, that we have let those that do not know the One True God, push us around and take our rights away from us so that we are no longer allowed to pray in public or even say the Pledge of Allegiance in school. It is time for those of us who know the Truth to stand up and take back our rights, as well as this country.
NOT RASCIST, NOT VIOLENT, JUST NO LONGER SILENT!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

They took God out of the schools, and look at the shape of them since then. Straight down hill. They took God out of government, and its gone straight down hill. We are becoming a God-less society, and it is going straight down hill, where people are accepting as normal hedonistic perverted sexual activity between those of the same sex, and think it’s ok. They think of it ok to rip unborn children out of their mothers womb, and our own government subsidizes it. I assure you all, no matter how wise you think yourselves to be, or how much advance you think your dirty little special interest group causes have made, that God is not too happy about this stuff, and while He tolerates it for now, there is coming a time, when a lot of people are going to have to answer a lot of actions that they did over the years, and woe to those people when that day comes. As it is written, it would be better for them, that they were not even born. So enjoy your sexual perversions for now, and enjoy your murder’s to cover up not being able to control your sexual behaviors, and keep thinking of yourselves to be in power and all wise, because there is an awakening coming soon to all of us, each and everyone of us.

Yes it is a shame it happened. Yes BP is at fault. Yes the government is at fault for not making sure everything was done safely when drilling began in February 2010, over a year into the Obama admin. But the blame you didnt place, was on those that forced this offshore drilling to be done offshore in the first place, and in 5000 feet of water. The left wing liberal greenie eco’s, in concert with the left wing liberal democratic party, wouldnt allow the safe onshore drilling, or to easy to fix shallow water drilling. No, they sent them out in 5000 feet of water, and now look what weve got. The green eco’s bear a great guilt in this whole thing. We should have been drilling in ANWR and other places, but they stopped it all. They too, bear the burden of guilt in this. By the way, I always thought drilling in deep water was dangerous, and now its proven to be true.

      • Claire

Beberoni–This rig was built in 2001. The Republicans and the Democrats contributed towards this mess. Neither party did what they should have done. They backslided on the oil companies and the illegals. All in the name of greed.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

And it was a safe rig, and used before safely, because the so called safety steps were checked out and working in its previous use. Something happened though, when in Feb. 2010 when the drilling commenced at this site, that nobody bothered, either from BP or from the Obama administration, whomever it is that they are supposed to have check this stuff out, the EPA or whomever, but they didnt do their job. Someone was asleep at the switch, and Im sick of reading people write that its Bush/Cheney’s fault, when they had been gone for over a year when it happened. The current admin, is responsible for making sure wells that are drilled like this, are done correctly, and that didnt happen. I know accidents happen, but things like this shouldnt, especially when theyve been done thousands of times before. Something is rotten in Denmark here, and something dirty went down, and the fact is no safeguards were check when drilling here. Thats all I was saying.

      Clair
Just finished a statistics class and even if it was carelessness
on BP’s part, the opportunities per million equation suggests other
out of control factors. Did you see the bit about John Kerry and
other Democrats as well as Goldman Sachs short selling BP stock
two business days before the explosion?
Toward the end of March, Obama states that he wants to shut down
all offshore drilling, a week later he announces that he will allow
offshore drilling. He also compared it to 9/11. First, he denies
9/11 was an act of terrorism and suggested it was an inside job.
Ok, So if he’s trying to relate this to 9/11 the only thing in
common with this and 9/11 that would be fitting with his belief of
9/11 then this would also be an inside job!
Next (back to the statistics stuff) what is the probaility of this
happening the day before “Earth Day”? Why didn’t this happen any
      other “Earth Day”?
And finally what would you want to do with any incriminating evidence?
Destroy the evidence course! and within (I believe) it was less than
36 hours the rig sunk! a mile deep, with oil, saltwater, and various
micro-organism eating away the evidence through various chemical and
biological reactions. How convenient! Is retrieving evidence any
priority right now? No! Stopping the leak is! So in the meantime
the evidence has more opportunity to decompose. Ever notice that
no formal sceintific evidence based investigation has been started
yet? Nor will there ever be. A really (in)-convenient truth?

      • Claire

Gary–With this current administration and BP nothing surprises me. I have not trusted any of them for a long time. If it was indeed a act of terrorism on behalf of our government, or anyone other country or organization, this would not be surprising. And you are right, we will never know the truth, it would be very difficult to find any evidence, and besides, they all cover up for each other. I am truly worried they will not stop this leak. So much damage has already been done, and there is more to come.

    • ashforkdan

There are four fail safes on the rig and the odds of all of them failing is astronomical if the proof comes out that haliburtons helecopter was on the rig twenty minutes before the explosion with there crew of blackwater leaving the rig ten minutes before it blew maybe the reason would be about patten rights on the largest vein that extends to venesuala that might never come out in our life time but who knows

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Here we go, lets blame Halliburton. Yeah, they wanted to lose a crap load of money by having this thing blow up. I guarantee you BP and Halliburton, neither one, wanted this thing to blow up. They both lose in that event. But someone had something to gain, didnt they? Like Obama pushing his cap and trade? Maybe, just maybe. Like Al Gore and his greenies? It furthers their agenda doesnt it? Im just saying.

    • ChimpImp

      Claire,

There was no oversight. This was done on purpose to speed the passing of Cap & Trade and raise the price of oil. This will destroy millions of more jobs. We are already in a severe recession. This will only make things worse. Your assumption that this was an accident is fallacious. It was no accident.

Offshore drilling would reduce the price of oil. Oil companies don’t want that. They want perpetual shortages and inflated prices.

      • Jana

        chimplmp,
All falling perfectly in place just for Obama. I just do not trust that man, nor the people he has surrounding him. Chicago style politics = Chicago thugs = dishonesty = anything that is in it for them. The= is an equal sign here.

    • http://LiberttyDigest Bruce D.

I agree Claire. Most accidents are caused by carelessness, poor maintenance, or putting off taking care of a small problem before it becomes a big problem.

    • Ernest Caldwell Ltc( ret) Engr

To many Greedy People they have destroyed Florida and are working on the rest of the world. And the wildlife suffers. Good Comment!

    • http://none constance drummand

      I totally agree with you.

    • Mona

I certainly agree with you Claire. I feel that they have purposely waited about doing anything so it will get bad enough that Obama will have an excuse to do what he wants. People that are greedy and want power will do anything to get what they want. It is too bad that some people are so ignorant and naive that they can’t see this. It is people like this that are helping to destroy our great country.
