    This woman is a threat to the Constitution of the United States and should never be confirmed to serve on the Supreme Court. She is a liberal who believes in partial birth abortion, taking away free speech, and in my opinion a socialist. She and all of the Democrats in power need to go!

    I am impressed by Elena Kagan’s willingness to obfuscate and misrepresent in her responses to the Senators’ probing questions. Answers about her role impeding military recruiting on Harvard campus were a good illustration. Her presumption that a hypothetical law (the banning of “books”) would not be enforced, so therefore Kagan is ambivalent on its passage, is the reasoning of a child or a liar or a lunatic. Kagan seems driven by social politics, lifestyle choice, collective shame about the US Military, her benefactor’s need and purpose, sexual preference and freedom to abort. This is no Supreme Court mindset. Who among our wimpy RINOS will vote to confirm?
    Nice writing by Angelique, who would be a better choice for the High Court.

    The root cause of all of this trouble goes back to the voting in the primary system. Cleverly, quietly the clintonistas and obamanites gathered up to vote in the Republican primaries. These people are quite clever in a devious way and they learned a lot from Karl Rove (the architect). By stuffing the GOP ballot with nitwit candidates, the Dems win big. So, here we are: up that well known tributary without means of motivation. And, without sufficient votes to stop this social/cultural/political juggernaught. Conservatism hasn’t a chance of regaining a toe hold until the Primary System is fixed. BTW, VMCox get a life!

      The “primary” system has already been neutralized. The Demopublicans and Republicrats simply have not noticed yet. Let them have their primaries. We can use social networking to select the best candidates for office and use the social networks and U-Tube to gather support for our candidates. In Nov we can vote for whomever is on the voting card OR writein our candidate if they have not been allowed to be on that card.

      In fact we can use the card to easily identify incumbents most of whom need to be voted out anyway.

      Interesting. The people that match your list are mostly liberal (I.E. Far left) in what little I have been able to untangle from their hateful/bigoted opinions. They also defend Obama and his policies.

You don’t believe in a creator, as a liberal, so I guess you don’t get to have any rights, except to abort your potential offspring. So, with regards to liberals, I support their right to terminate their progeny, every chance they get, or come out of the closet, the sooner, the better.

        Now that’s the funniest thing I have read all day so far. Go to NRA.org, the backstabbing profiteering compromising kings of scam and swindle. Send us your money RIGHT NOW or your 2nd Amendment rights may be lost forever!!! Meanwhile the NRA endorses and supports myriad gun control measures. But only the “reasonable” ones right?

        There is no such thing as reasonable gun control, only incremental tyranny. The NRA does not care about the 2nd Amendment, only about dragging the fight out to keep the money flowing in.

        No thanks. I dropped the NRA like a hot rock back in the 90′s. I will not ever again send them a single penny of my hard earned money, just so they can stab me in the back… again.

        On some issues there is no room for compromise, and the 2nd is one of those issues. Without the 2nd, and without an armed population, everything we are debating is meaningless. Without the rights of the citizenry to keep and maintain arms, there is no check against the government running roughshod over every single liberty and freedom we have left, including the right to this discourse.

        The NRA does not care about anything but keeping the money coming in. They may talk a good game, but I’ll believe their actions before their words. Their actions have spoken loud and clear over the years as they have given their blessing to all sorts of gun control laws and measures and regulations. Dressing up their actions with BS speech and justifications that their membership blindly gobbles up and goes along with.

        No thanks. The NRA can burn. NRA = Not Relevant Anymore.

        There are many other organizations who take our 2nd Amendment freedoms much more seriously.

    Whomever Mr. Obama nominates next is not a given that he will nominate another far-left inexperienced product of the wacky SDS type academics. Kagan is the nominee now & must not be confirmed. I find her decisions, her hesitations in aswering & legal babble most disturbing. Mr. Obama has proved over & over again by his appointees just the kind of “New World Order” he wants. This is not what America is about. We are an exceptional nation. People came here from all over the globe to become “Americans,” not a hyphonated step-child, but a fully assimilated American. This is what the “new immigrants” crossing unlawfully into this country fail to understand. We must do background checks as other nations do (including Mexico) for crimminal records, gang bangers & terrorists. Ms. Kagan does not appear to me to have the needs of the nation as a priority, but rather her own liberal, Social/Progressive agenda….as does our current President. We are on a dangerous course to “change” our basic laws into something very alien to us as a freedom-loving people.

    Right now, during hearings she will say and promise anything, just to get the seat. As soon as she is in, she will do anything she wants and Sonja Sotomayor will vote together with Kagan.

    But the problem is, if Kagan is not confirmed, what the next nimination from Obama will be? I don’t think the Senate will be able to grag confirmations for 2.5 years. May it happen that if Kagan is not confirmed, Cuss Sunstein will be nominated? And he is more dangerous, because he is more intelligent and more articulate?

    It doesn’t mean that I support Kagan, I’m firmly against her. It just means I’m very troubled with the whole situation.

    The text promised in the hook appears nowhere in the clip, which actually has Kagan saying that an attempt to ban a book should fail an “as applied” challenge — a phrase meaning, she opposes efforts to ban books, and thinks they would be found unconstitutional.

      I think that fact went over their heads. If something was left out of the tape then this article is being manipulated and then meaningless. Many folks liberals and conservatives alike want certain things banned. Liberals don’t like our loose gun laws and conservatives don’t like Hollywoods “indecency”(sex and violence). Both sides want to ban something. Liberals want to legalize many drugs and conservatives want to ban these same drugs. Thus we have this drug war going nowhere.I have heard conservatives over the years say they want certain books banned but never a liberal. So where do you really stand? I have heard both liberals and conservatives promote porno and denounce it.(I’m against it). We can support all kinds of laws and nobody pays attention anyways.

    Because of the deep political indoctrination involved, a progressive is a progressive retard. That is, a progressive starts with a mental disadvantage, and over the years the problem worsens until an individual is a mindless parrot for whoever pulls the strings.
    If Kagan is not yet at that stage, she’s close. She proves that it IS possible to get an education and have no common sense. It will be her job to carry out the whims of whoever’s in the White House.
    Kagan didn’t hesitate to LIE about her role in keeping the military away from Haavid. That makes her an ‘ideal’ progressive choice.
    Most of the time, a liar is a liability. However, in Herr Obummer’s dream world, a liar is a great asset. Whatever else she is will become evident in short order.

      It is the same point of view concerning immigration. The law requires ‘visitors’ to our country must have documents; whether for temporary visiting or work. But the federal government doesn’t enforce it! Doesn’t apply unless those currently in government WANT to apply it!

      These progressives simply do not believe in the rule of LAW. Her explanation is the exact perspective of a ‘dictator’ who DECIDES what the law means when he or she wants it to apply!

      She and her cohorts believe themselves more important than the Constitution or the citizens of this country!
