Brewer To Obama: 'We'll Meet You In Court'

Brewer to Obama: 'We'll meet you in court'Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has said that she will fight any attempt by the Federal government to overturn her state’s controversial new immigration law.

Brewer told CNN that Arizona is willing to engage in a legal battle with the administration over the statute, which has been publicly criticized by President Obama and several members of his inner circle.

"We’ll meet you in court," she said defiantly. "I have a pretty good record of winning in court."

Meanwhile, several media outlets are reporting that Obama has finally accepted Brewer’s request for a face-to-face meeting to discuss why the law is so important to Arizona citizens. Initially, the White House indicated that the president did not have time in his schedule to fit in a meeting with Brewer, who is in Washington this week to attend a governors’ meeting on homeland security issues, Fox News reports.

"The people of Arizona are discouraged," she said during the interview. "They’re fed up. We’ve had security flaws on the border for years now. And it’s time that we do something about it immediately."

Brewer also cited the results of several new polls that indicate that the majority of Americans support the new law, which will go into effect July 29.

    I’m proud of Governor Brewer for showing some “backbone” and standing up for her state. The Feds have been trampling on the Constitution for many years. It’s time that someone put them in their place. If the Feds had TRULY been enforcing immigration laws, Arizona wouldn’t have to be taking matters in their own hands. It’s time in November and 2012 to “clean out the cesspool” in Washington,D.C. and elect leaders who will go back to following the Constitution.

I can’t imagine how bad it really is in AZ, NM,and TX.     did a little research because a friend of mine who I grew up with in Ventnor,N.J. was murdered a couple of years ago by an Illegal that he knew that worked at a restaurant he frequently ate dinner at. The restaurant closed. Two weeks later my friend(Steve Wingard) walked in on the illegal burglarizing his apartment. He got into a struggle with him and was stabbed 13 times in the neck. If this stat is accurate, then since 9/11 more American Citizens have died on United States soil than 9/11, both Gulf wars,Afghanistan and Iraq wars combined. That comes out to roughly 360 American Citizens a month.
    I do not know about the rest of you, but I believe the number 1 function of our United States government SHOULD be protecting American Citizens within our home borders. NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY(MEDIA,OBAMA ADMINISTRATION) SPIN IT,NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY SUGAR COAT IT, US AS AMERICAN CITIZENS SHOULD SETTLE FOR NO LESS THEN TOTAL DEPORTATION FOR ALL ILLEGALS.       Chucky… I am so sorry to hear about your friend. There have been many people affected by illegal immigrants. A close friend of mine’s daughter and her husband were in an auto accident involving an illegal alien… They are a family with 5 children and the husband has not had work in many months. Their income is very limited and with 5 children, things have not been good. The accident didn’t do any physical harm to anyone, but insurance rates went up. The illegal did not have insurance. And, my father in law was sitting in his home, minding his own business when a lady knocked on his door. She was another uninsured illegal alien. She hit his parked pick up truck, literally snapping the rear driver’s side wheel off and sending it into a second vehicle causing damage. My father in law was able to repair the damage, but it was declared totaled by the insurance company. Now he can’t get it titled again. It’s a paper mess and very frustrating for someone in their 70′s. Your friend’s death, my friend’s daughter and family, and my father in law all would not have to deal with disastrous circumstances if illegals were not allowed to be in our country!

    If he wants to play in court, an aggressive offense is the best defense.

    Force the democrat party to prove he was actually eligible to be on the Arizona Ballot.
    If he wasn’t, seize all the assets of the democrat party located in the State.

    If ALL that States that are interested in PROTECTING their CITIZENS would follow through with that, the sooner he will perk up and pay attention.

      I had begun to despair of women in office (Pelosi, Clinton, Boxer, etc.) Ms. Brewer gives me hope. She’s what we need in office, or women like her.

San Diego,Phoenix and El Paso are some of the least violent cities in the country,and it’s all documented for all to see.         Refreshing is what we all need, Clean air, clean politics and a lot more cleanups in the Gulf. Obummer can’t speak to Gov Brewer because he can’t speak without a teleprompter or two. At the speech he gave at a recent graduation he said You don’t need no encouragement other than your own (not EXACT but you get the message) He actually can’t say damn near anything that is not written down. Probably by someone else. Apparently, some Harvard grads are lacking English grammar.

        One way to eliminate the problem: quite radical, do as the military junta in Mex used to do, line em up and have a shoot out, only one side has the guns though. That would solve the problem if the lily-livered elected won’t do anything about it
