Report: Justice Department Unprepared For A WMD Attack

Report: Justice Department unprepared for a WMD attack In a new report, the Justice Department’s inspector general concludes that the majority of the nation’s law enforcement agencies are unprepared for an attack involving a weapon of mass destruction (WMD).

The 61-page review, authored by inspector general Glenn Fine, found that none of the law enforcement agencies under the Justice Department’s control—with the exception of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)—have developed operational response plans to deal with an attack, The New York Times reports. It also found that the department, as a whole, is "uncoordinated and fragmented" in terms of their oversight management.

According to Fine, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the United States Marshall Service does not provide training to their employees for responding to a WMD attack.

"We found the response planning among all the components…to be inconsistent and not well coordinated," he wrote in the report.

Meanwhile, a bipartisan commission in January gave the Obama administration an "F" for its ability to respond to a biological attack, according to The Los Angeles Times.

    The best way to get to elected do nothings in Congresas, is to show up at any public events, where they pat themselves on their backs, and you need to start asking question on exactly why they voted for bills and show how they aren’t keeping the constituants in mind or the country. It can get a little heated and confrontattional. If you get their staffs only showing up, ask where the gut less wonders are, and why they will not show their whimpy mugs? If people don’t like what has happened, then make it known. Any time I hear whining, even at filling station, ask if they voted, and who they voted for and why. I haven’t heard one dink every admit they voted for Onumnut and his socialist democrat gang. I love getiing known democrats who bragged they voted a straight dem ticket. Going on the wonderful health care and stimulas plan that was foisted on us, by their communists party that was put on the country. Since these clowns between 06 and 08 bragged how great the country would be with total democrat control. Hope and change, now hopeless and a terrible depressing change.

      George E–I keep hoping for a better future for America. It has been this way for years and years. Even if we are fortunate enough to get really good people in office, it will take years to get on solid ground. You are no doubt right, it will take more money. Authority? Americans had better watch that aspect of the political game-playing. In fact, Americans must watch everything like a hawk.

        Actually, I said more money and authority in jest. They use every excuse in the book to get both from us, but in the end they remain largely an incompetent, bloated, and over powering set of organizations. Just like in the case of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the feds had the authority they needed to prevent this disaster, but they were looking the other way…..at how they could get every bit of tax revenue they could from produced oil, and at campaign contributions, etc. The government is too big, too powerful, and too expensive. They are falling all over themselves because there are too many agencies with too many people and too much power, except where they need it; ie, protecting our borders….

        George E– You may have said those words in jest but I think they are very true words. The hope and change aspect is not working. I think Obama has found out it isn’t as easy as he thought it would be. I do hope for a better future for all of us and America, but it may not happen in my lifetime. Too many years of greed, foolish spending, backroom dealings, lobbyists, Wall Street and banks that own too many politicians and corporations that pull the strings have caused a ripple effect on our government that seems insurmountable. I have a good life but I am still concerned about what is yet to come.

    With the continued dumbing down in our schools, and the eleits always crying for more tax money for teachers, the unions and educated socialists keeping our schools, students dumber and then they go to college and get even more brain wasting time in college. Hopeful there is still more young adults will began to learn the history of what really happens in the USA. Hopefully will be smart enough, to be able to think out of the government controlled learning process box. The Americans can with enough courage, starting at the state level implement state regs, to force their federal elected officals to serve on one term and no more. It will not happen in the federal level to much CYA in the beltway. There is always a way to over ride bills written by legal crooks, called lawyers.

They are all incompetent and we are seeing more transparency only as to how unprepared Obama is to be president of the U.S. The only thing he knows how to do, is campaign or make deals behind closed doors, as well as bash America, to the point that everyone in the world is bashing us, also. Obama constantly puts our country down, as well as allowing foreign visitors to do the same, as well as allowing Mexico to set up a “Get out of Jail Free” card shop on Catalina Island and give illegals U.S. Identity cards to use our banks, schools, hospitals, and jobs with these cards. We need to vote them all out of office.

      Joan, America is infested with useful idiots and their bastard friends. Some of the worst ones manage to get elected and re-elected [Specter comes to mind]. James Polk had the right idea. He said he’d be a one-term president if he was elected. He was elected, and he served ONE term.
      FDR, on the other hand, is the poster child for corruption and agenda-driven, dictatorial politics. If he had to ‘endure’ a single term, he’d probably have died way before ’44. No one has to be a scholar to know that multiple terms do NOT make better politicians [McCain, Rockefeller and Byrd come to mind].
      Single terms (with absolutely NO chance for ANY consecutive terms) is the way to go. Now, if we could only get people to realize that enforced term limits will NEVER happen. The same people who have the most to lose are the same ones who will NEVER let us have enforced term limits. Thank God, enough people were suspicious of FDR that he wasn’t able to be a prez for any longer than he was.
      May he be the ONLY prez who came close to being an American dictator-for-life.

      The truth is no longer pertinent to policies. Reality is not the issue.       I think the terrorists hate the USA and capitalism and American power more than the libs do, more than Ayers, more than Michelle Obama, but not by much. The kinship is directly perceivable and prevalent in all that is occurring.       So when the terrorists want to burn the USA to the ground, don’t be surprised when the democrats and their base agree half the time or more – if not in direct words, certainly in actions and positions and policies. Leaving the borders wide open is “very important” for instance.

    After 9/11 billions and billions were spent and/or allocated for security,safety,wmd attacks,beefing up airports,ect. Was that money well spent and if it was do we need to dole out more dollars?

      I expect a lot of it was wasted. After all, that’s how our government works, isn’t it? I can say, however, that we weren’t attacked again, so it’s possible the money did accomplish its primary objective, even if we spent far more than we should have.

    In a perfect world the intelligence people would find out about the attack and we would stop it before it started. The world isn’t perfect though. During the Cold War we had the Civil Defense. Now, I don’t hear or see anything about them. Are these people still here? After 911 we were going to revamp our system and do whatever it took to be better prepared. It seems we slipped back into being complacent again and it will take another 911 to wake people up again. We saw it in the gulf with the oil rig accident. No equipment or plan was available. Now everyone is scrambling. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

      Just a little reminder – there was of course a plan, the govey was supposed to have 5 of those giant hoses to reel onto the ocean to pool and then burn off spills – but NONE of those hoses the law demanded be at the ready were – and the govey got just one after the fact from some Illinois company who had one in inventory…
      So just like with the levies – the government has endless meetings, million upon million dollar consulting fees and expert opinions with safety certain conclusions – has congress or other law bodies meeting, scrolls out the laws, hammers away with million billions and trillions in the budget, but in the end, the warped and bribed and lying and colluding criminals doing it all EPIC FAIL, because some dirty little line item or clause, or change, or diversion of dollars, or lawsuit, or enviro weenie stoppage occurs, and the gigantic identified gaping hole to hell is left uncovered.
      Let’s face it – look at TSA and the insanity at all the airports for how many years now ?
      We don’t have adults in charge, we have PC morons so deranged and disjointed with babbling platitudes that it’s a wonder they can tie their shoes in the morning.

        Anthony, I’m just saying that’s what the intelligence people SHOULD be doing if they can. Sometimes you don’t catch it all. When they don’t, that’s when we need an emergency plan. It seems all the money that was to go to train first responders and make these contingency plans was squandered away with no result. The money was given to communities to use as they saw fit, with no real plan how to best use it.

We have felt that our safety is up to us for a long time and still do. Hopefully we will know in enough time to be able to do something before it’s too late for our community. No communication between departments, no plans, no readiness, no nothing. Our government better get on the ball and now, not later. What if we are attacked?         Al Sieber–I do not trust government either, I have become wary of everything they do. I don’t have the answer as to whether or not this has been planned for years. I can remember my Mother and Grandmother back in the 1950s saying “they” will get us from within. I can remember thinking who is “they”? But I was young and really did not pay much attention until I got older. Now it all makes me wonder what they knew or thought they knew.
        When I stop and think of how our government has conducted themselves in the past and currently now, some of the actions appear to be subversive. It is scary. Things are not what they seem and we have to be watchful.

Their propaganda has infected countless minds in the USA, and unless someone forcefully rebuts the years of spewing, those minds will remain captive, and actually be quite dangerous right up to the point when and probably for a bit after, the storm hits the fan.
        I’ve seen it myself quite recently. The truth can destroy the communist indoctrinations and lies, but first it must be offered, and then it must be jammed down the throat of the indoctrinated – because their desire always is ” I’d rather not know” or talk about it, or discuss it, it’s “upsetting” (of course the indoctrination used has a very large emotionally upsetting component that is used for a purpose, and the poor brainwashed soul has gone on protests and rants and raves and even life missions because of those very emotionally charged lies and spins and one-sided falsities.
        Having the left wing belief system our pop culture society has crammed into their brains decimated by facts and fairly simple ideas and truths they have never heard nor contemplated is not something they easily or willingly move toward. It is upsetting too. Very disturbing to find that out, what one has been on a mission for, in an emotionally charged pity and rage activist ruckus, is a bunch of spun up hogwash…
        Many prefer to stay cuddly, warm, and enraged, in the left wing communist spin the media and culture has jammed into their gourds from birth. It’s so much easier, now that the pattern has been mentally established, and the personality formed about it.

        When was the US ever prepared for ANYTHING??? “It just can’t happen to us” is the motto. The last time the US was REALLY prepared for any contention of action was the Civil War, or maybe the Spanish/American war. DC is one big sand box with the politicos’ heads inserted!!

        I’m not certain I want them prepared. Why do I want them ready at all ?
        I watched after Katrina, there were fires around San Diego I believe, it was in California in any case (from the insane jackassed liberal idiots not allowing brush clearing and clear cutting and forestry maintainence)…
        A very good friend of mine lives there and we were talking and although he tends to the right and is even a registered republican, he completely supported the massive BUG OUT forced by the GOVERNMENT for like 500,000 residents in that region, because “some fires” threatened “san diego”.
        I could see how the government was on a power trip of over-reaction – clear EVERYONE OUT ~ not a single life must be lost in a home that happens to catch on fire — so half a million people were forecfully moved from their residences and daily lives so the gigantic demonic beast could come in and rule the safety roost….
        My friend went so far as to scream in unison with the command orders from on high that all citizen vehicles must be shut down and remain off the roads so the ” fire trucks and volunteers too ” could drive in and save everything….
        There was screaming against anyone who stuck behind and used their garden hose like a SANE PERSON to water down any embers that happened to aloft on their roof, etc. No my God, you might be reducing water pressure for the government sanctio0ned and sponsored fire truckies, the lords and masters…. heck you might be breaking some ordinance on how much water you can use from your own garden hose…
        Heck, don’t cut down that crispy leaved tree that will certainly turn your home to cinders when the approaching fire gets near enough – by golly it’s jail time that tree on your property is state and federally protected property of the LEVIATHAN….
        Man, I’m telling you…
        Surrender, GTFO, get off your property, forget trying to save it, the masters of the universe are on their way in, and you go to jail, citizen, if you think you can “obstruct their rights” to do “their duty” to save the collectives property…
        (any home they can’t get to burns to a cinder but that’s just part of the trade off of course )
        So anyway, I checked after the big incident – ONE OF TWO HUNDRED HOMES HAD DAMAGE – that was the statistical result…
        Now just imagine 200 homes surrounding where you live – and one of them catching on fire to some degree – and you BUGGING OUT because of it. Would you flee ? Can you even see the 200th home from where you are, even in a densely packed city ? Probably not – probably one has burned, has already happened and you never knew it.
        I quite understand destruction was more concentrated as a general rule, that’s just how reality works with spreading fire – nonetheless, I sat here absolutely SHOCKED that half a million were buggered on out by the big fat, hyperactive, dominant, bossy, often wrong, government powers.

    This may be acceptible behavior for corporations – but NOT for the voting process of a FREE govenment. . . The American citizens want to have choices – and not to have politicians steering who gets elected…

    I have to agree with many of Caire’s comments that our govermental agencies are just not prepared for the “What-ifs” – why?

    I just want to add to them by saying that as long as we can’t get really fair election because they keep allowing politicians to get away with bribing candidates to NOT run (so they can keep their candidate of choice on top), we will not be able to have the political candidate the people want. . . We will continue to end up with Career Politicians who do nothing for the people! They need to realize that it may be business as usual within corporations, but unacceptable for the government of FREE people – to be able to get away with convincing candidates to not run for a particular office. This must be stopped now. We have laws against that sort of thing and these laws are being ignored. . .

        George E–The Republicans here in Springfield have monopolized the Tea Party group. A real estate lady is more or less in charge. I attended one meeting but I was not overly thrilled since they do try to promote the Republican party. And I believe in neutrality and trying to find the best candidate possible, regardless of party affiliation. I thought this was what Tea Parties were all about. Consequently I do not pay much attention to them anymore so I don’t know if they are promoting certain candidates or not, but if they are, they will no doubt choose a Republican. God help me for saying this, but to me Republicans here are RINOS. Being in Illinois, I do not care for any candidate that is running, Democrat or Republican. They all have their “problems” with honesty and character. For example, Kirk a Republican that is running and is in hot water now since he said he served in Viet Nam and he didn’t. He also said he received a Navy award and he didn’t. Brady, a Republican that I voted for in the primaries, apparently put forth a bill concerning the euthansia of animals at local shelters. He wanted all dogs and cats placed in a small room and gassed to death using auto exhaust instead of being put to death on an individual basis. To save money??? I found this out AFTER I had voted for him in the primaries. When this was all published in the newspaper he took his name off the bill and gave it to one of his buddies to push through. He is a jerk. Some of the stuff that goes on in Illinois is unbelievable. Mindboggling to say the least.
        Personally I do not know who I will vote for in November. My husband and I are not very happy with any of the choices. Politicians in Illinois are cut from the same cloth as far as we are concerned. And we have been registered Republicans for over 30 years.

        Oh that’s too bad. Sorry to hear it. You may just have to hold your nose and vote for the least of two evils depending on which one represents the least of all worries for you. Sad. Take care.

        George E–Hold my nose and vote! That is what it has come to. Today Kirk is in more trouble. I can’t believe this guy-he must be a pathological liar. It is unbelievable. He had to realize he would get caught!! People that lie on a continual basis always get caught eventually. Truth prevails. I just wish truth would prevail in a hurry especially with what is going on in the world right now.

      u say “laws are being ignored”. Heck man, have u been to civil court lately? The ‘laws’ were never written for ‘us’ sovereign patriots or real flesh and blood people. They where written only for corporations, esp. when dealing with the banks and foreclosure laws. They litererally ignore all the ucc laws, throw admiralty laws at you and step all over the Constitution. I saw a good friend forcefully removed from a court house for having legally transfered power of attorney from his wife, so he could better represent themselves, thus protect their property. The judge refused it and when the poor guy objected, the judge(retired), (who was sent up from LA specifically to ‘handle’ this case, because they knew that the husband knew, how to handle the law and the court),had him forcefully ejected from the court house leaving the wife to defend for herself.The whole process by the banks is fraud. Its all coming down anyway. U can’t run an honest operation(government) on fiat money based on nothing but a digital command to a printing press. When Americans, IF they ever wake up and get over their denial/apathy and ‘ it can’t happen here’ stupidity, then maybe we can get down to bussiness. All I can say, BUY SILVER. No numismatic value, just silver rounds .999 silver or 10 oz. bullion bars. When JPMorgon Chase goes belly up, so will their illegal fraudulent paper short position, and silver, now based at a ratio to gold of 64 to 1, will acquire its more common denominator of 16 to 1 and go 4 times from where it is now, and then when the dollar melts down completely……I am heading for the exist. Buy me a farm and get outta here. Me…If the anarchy doesn’t get us first, what 2012 brings, will. My only suggestion for the seeker of the truth, are the u-tube presentations of ‘Zeitgeist’, the new version, and ‘Kymatica’, that is, if u can handle the truth, for it WILL set u free.

    Why am I not surprised. American has not been “prepared” for any major disaster for years. This did not happen overnight. A department is only as good as the person in charge. Obviously these people do not have any credibility nor the gumption to get the job done and do it correctly. This is an ongoing problem. All of our governmental departments need an overhaul and a good housecleaning. All administrations are guilty. They only think of themselves and “what America can do for them.” The FBI appears to be the only department that is functioning like it should. I heard all of this on TV. As I said in an earlier post, politics is the ruination of this country and this will continue until such time we have qualified candidates that are not on an ego trip.
