Arizona Threatens To Cut Power To L.A. Unless Boycotts Are Lifted

May 21, 2010 by

Arizona threatens to cut power to L.A. unless boycotts are lifted An Arizona utility commissioner said on Wednesday that he is willing to cut off Los Angeles’ power if the city moves forward with its economic boycott of the Grand Canyon State.

Last week, the L.A. City Council overwhelmingly approved a measure to suspend a variety of business contracts with Arizona due to the state’s controversial new immigration laws.

Gary Pierce, a commissioner on the five-member Arizona Corporation Commission, wrote a letter to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa this week stating that he was "dismayed" with the council’s decision, and would entertain the idea of fighting a boycott with a boycott unless it reconsidered the measure, according to CBS News.

"If an economic boycott is truly what you desire, I will be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives any power from Arizona-based generation," he wrote.

"However, if you find that the city council lacks the strength of its convictions to turn off the lights in Los Angeles and boycott Arizona power, please reconsider the wisdom of attempting to harm Arizona’s economy," Pierce added.

Currently, more than one-quarter of Los Angeles’ electricity comes from Arizona-based power plants, Fox News reports.

Why in the hell would LA oppose the Az. immigration laws., that doesn’t make sense? A large part of California’s financial problems stem from their expenses on illegals. If LA and California would adopt similar laws, they could help reduce their budget and reduce crime, or is it that the states wimpy governor is also an illegal?

    • JC

Brooks, it makes perfect sense when you understand the Globalist agenda of destroying America and American sovereignty.

    • Joyce

      Because they are STUPID!!!
Hope AZ turns off their power and shuts the whole city down!!!

    • Pat R

      Brooks:
California already has an immigration law almost identical to the Arizona law on their books. Probably not too many people know it is there, or would rather ignore it. They just need to ENFORCE IT!

    • Allan

They are all counting on a bigger piece of the pie.

  • peter

I TOTALLY agree with 100% of the comments posted here. God bless Arizona for taking a stand, I will support Arizona based businesses and will boycott anything and everything associated with CA, products services and including movies. We have the most divisive polarizing socialist President and left-leaning government in history. The wind of conservative change is blowing and will sweep them from power over the next two and half years. DC needs to get back to the three R’s, Repeal, Rewrite and Reduce! I am proud to be a legal immigrant, this is the greatest country on Earth, God Bless America!

  • http://aol.com Bob

I say boycott the states and the morons that don’t understand what illegal means for what they suggest to do to Arizona. i’m tired of giving illegals my social security after the illegals drop a kid here. Vote out the liberal panty waists and put in some people with a set of nuts and stop this madness.

    • Joyce

Excellent and Thank You for speaking up.

And the worst thing is, when they reach retirement the go tback to their country and live like millionairs with OUR OWN MONEY thank you to our Govwrment. I too am a Vietnam Vet.And when a person goes into the service they take a oath to defend the Unite States Of Amercian. And when they leave the service, that oath never stop’s.so if the people who are not doing there job in Washington D.C.should be taken out of office! To many people have died to keep us free,if they don’t like they are free to leave.I see where the (IDIOT) who let another (IDIOT) in the USA to say he doesn’t agree with Airzona Law should have not came here.He should go back to his country and do his fare share and clean up his own mess.

    • Norman

      Hi Tom;
Glad to have you as a “BROTHER” in Arms!
All they have to do is take the time to read The Constitution and then compare it to the Arizona State Law and the will not find much difference. The Arizona Law just enforces what is said in the Constitute that “OUR GOVERNMENT” will not enforce. We have all the “LAWS” we need, we just need “ENFORCEMENT” of them by “OUR GOVERNMENT”! Do not tie the hands of the Law Enforcement Offerers that are only trying to do their jobs, their job is tough enough as it is, give them some help to uphold the Constitute of our “GREAT LAND!” I know you are an “OATH KEEPER” by being in the service or at least I hope you are! If not, Please join the cause and make your voice herad!

      • BARRY, A FIGHTING AMERICAN!!!!

THANKS NORMAN, I AM A VIETNAM VET AND A OATH KEEPER, I THINK WE CAN BE PROUD THAT WE ALL IN THIS BLOG HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEAK OUR MINDS,I RESPECT THEM ALL, BUT DO NOT HAVE TO AGREE. NEVER TAKE FREEDOM FOR GRANITE, IT IS NOT UNLESS YOU PROTECT IT.

      • JLC

Tom Martel, Norman, and Barry — I am a WWII veteran (Yeah, there a few of us still around) and I believe that I swore the same oath you did. But, if my memory is correct, my oath was not to the United States, but to the CONSTITUTION of the United States, against all enemies, foreign and domestic. The question arises: Where does our duty lie, when we are faced with treason — or, at the very least, sedition — within our own government?

      • http://?? Joe H.

        JLC,
My Father in law is a WW2 vet Dark Horse div. and he thinks very much the same as me!! This is nothing less than an invasion!!!

  • Jayboy

How is it the Government is always so quick to enforce Tax Burdens on the Citizens without hesitation, despite the outcry of those being taxed. But, call on them to enforce the “already on the Books Laws” and they halt any action and listen to every little squeaky voice that protests! The Arizona Law makes perfect sense!! The U.S. is turning their head on Laws they approved and refuse to enforce because it will protct the citizenry and many aspects of the local and national economy and will not line the pockets of the Spinless Socialist Administration now occupying the Whitehouse.
For all the Fools that voted for “Change you can Believe”, How’s that working for you so far?

  • BARRY

AND PLEASE FOLKS, DO NOT USE THE NAME OF THE GUY WHO IS SITTING IN THE PRESIDENTS CHAIR ANY LONGER, I SIMPLY USE THAT EXACT VERBAGE. SINCE WE HAVE NO AMERICAN PRESIDENT THEN IT SHALL BE HEREBY KNOWN AS “THE GUY SITTING IN THE PRESIDENTS CHAIR”"

I am with you Barry. By the way did his royal highness, registered for the draft?

IF ALL OF THE POLITICIANS PUT THEIR HAND ON THE BIBLE AND SWEAR AN OATH TO PROTECT AND ENFORCE THE CONSTITUTION, THEN WHAT ACTIONS CAN BE TAKEN AGAINST THOSE WHO DO NOT DO WHAT THE SWORE TO DO!!!!!!!!
WHERE ARE THE GUTSY LAWYERS WHEN YOU NEED THEM?

    • http://georgejshinnlifeinsuranceagency.com George

TREASON is what they are guilty of…

      • Jose Cordero Torres

If you think we have done a treason act, talk to the over 70% of citizens of Arizona who back the new law. And if by any chance you live in Az., I gladly invite you to also pack your stuff and I will escort you to the State line on your way to California.

    • http://?? Joe H.

      Barry,
I don’t mean to be crude, but it seems the governor of Arizona has a bigger set than ALL the male politicians in Washington D.C.!!!

  • Private American Citizen

Stay Strong Arizona! People in this country have GOT to stand up and protect the rights of the LEGAL citizens. Come on people – Arizona is being brutalized by the media and the liberals for trying to protect the interests of their state. The US Gov – ODrama and the rest of the dems in office are trying to destroy our way of life. I say to Everyone – See you Arizona this summer! Buy something – anything in AZ.

Also, go ahead AZ – Cut the power to California. Those freaky nuts need a wake up call. Do it!!!

I have never really paid any attention to politics until recently – but – I am so damn angry with what I see coming out of Washington right now that I plan to vote every time I can & try my best to vote for people who want to get these America destroyers out of office. I am not a political person but I am a single mother. I am self employed and pretty well off & I am one Pissed Off white woman!!!

    • Joe

One pissed off White women. Could you just have been a pissed off American. Can people really see this is racism?
There is a great need for immigration reform but, the law passed by our Governor is not the answer. Too many questions about how to handle the very lives this law will destroy. Please think deeply if you are capable.

      • Norman

If you will take the time to read to read The Constitution and then compare it to the Arizona Law you will not find much difference. The Arizona Law just enforces what is said in the Constitute that “OUR GOVERNMENT” will not enforce. We have all the “LAWS” we need, we just need “ENFORCEMENT” of them by “OUR GOVERNMENT”! Do not tie the hands of the Law Enforcement Offerers that are only trying to do their jobs, their job is tough enough as it is, give them some help to uphold the Constitute of our “GREAT LAND!” And you might become an “OATH KEEPER” yourself! That is if you want to help save “OUR GREAT COUNTRY”
        Korean Vet and
        OATH KEEPER

      • TIME

        Norman, Great Responce!

      • Eric in AZ

        AMEN!! ENFORCEMENT NOT REFORM!!

      • Private American Citizen

Joe, I am not a racist. I am just sick and tired of the media and my government repositioning the hard working white citizens as horrible, racist people. Seriously, anyone can see that the US gov is working hard to make us all look like hate mongers in order to promote their socialist agenda.

If I had said I am one pissed of Mexican or black woman the message would have been received differently?

Get real buddy – I have the right to be proud of my heritage and you don’t have the right to try and make me feel guilty. People are people. Some good and some not so good.

AZ has the right to protect it’s interests – The Government in WA is broken and they are not protecting it’s citizens.

Put down the kool-aid and read the constitution.

      • Annie

Joe, don’t you think that the illegals are destroying our American way of life? We are supporting them with OUR money, education, social services, etc. Look, if you broke the law, you can bet you will suffer consequences, so it should be with the illegals. They are running from a horrible situation in Mexico but they are affecting our COUNTRY. don’t you get it? or maybe you never got an education in fairness and the difference between right and wrong.

      • andrew

hey joe,do us all a favor,if you can, read the law before you state your knee jerk liberal response.

      • Steven Thomas

Why are you on the “White” kick. I have yet to see anyone quoting our governor as being a “White” woman? I have had it with illegal immigrants in my state. Have you seen what they have done to the Sonoran Desert during their illegal entries? It is disgusting; filled with fecal matter, garbage, dirty diapers, etc. FEMA will have to be called in to clean it, yeah right, like they can do anything right.

If you are here illegally, get out! I give you the one strike option, first strike, 5 years in prison, not liberal prisons like we have here in the US, but prisons like those in Malaysia, etc. where you have no rights at all. Then, you get shipped back. If you are caught again, it is instant gratification to put a .45 ACP through your head where you stand and send you home in a body bag!

Illegals are killing this country, so why not return the favor?

      • angel-wanna-be

Steven Thomas, Oddly enough, two days ago, I recieved a email, with pictures, showing a desert location in Arizona, in a shallow revine, filled with junk diapers as you say, make shift tents, clothing, trash and fecal matter, strewn everywhere. It’s a damn shame.

      • Palin12

angel…there’s a couple of houses on my block that harbor illegal aliens. You should see what they do to the properties, it’s just despicable! No maintenance of the yards at all. Junk and trash piled all over, 4 ft tall weeds growing with wild abandon, graffitti on the garage doors, junk cars with no license plates piled up all over the block. They are content to tear down our property values and turn the neighborhood into a barrio.

      • rwnut

Steven Thomas…..Not only are they killing this country, they are killing citizens daily.

      • goat head on

again joe….now one wants to hear about you liberal ways and again the commie —- junkie was in reference to you

      • Robert Wayne

All of the racism I see is coming from left wing communist scumbags like you. If she wants to say that she’s one pissed off white woman that’s her business and not a damn bit of yours. Also it’s these stinking mexicans who are invading this country, not the other way around. If we were invading and destroying their country you empty headed idiotic liberal retards would be yapping about how terrible and racist we are. But now that we’re out to stop them from invading this country you imbeciles are claiming we’re racist for protecting ourselves, our property and our homes. I find you and the others, from Obama on down, who are on the side of these illegal invaders to be utterly and completely despicable.

      • del

I hope it does destroy the lives of these illegal aliens. They can go back to their mud hole!

      • http://?? Joe H.

        del,
        No, that’s called a jacal!

      • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Bruce D.

What are you a biggot. There is nothing wrong with being white. Get over it. If we want to call ourselves white we have every right to. If it okay to be a black American there is no reason why anyone has to be ashamed about being a white American. Wake up Joe and stop that leftest mind control crap.

      • rwnut

Bruce D…..That’s the problem with Joe and the left. They won’t call themselves AMERICAN. They are always a HYPHENATED-AMERICAN.In their eyes this gives them a special status.

      • Jose Cordero Torres

Seems you had trouble thinking yourself amigo. Just as I told a few a others, pack your stuff and go someplace else. ADIOS!!!

      • angel-wanna-be

Joe, when your losing the battle, you liberals always revert to racism, we know your games, take your Dollies and go home! ;)

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Angel,
hope that wasn’t pointed at me. I made a post then everyone goes after “Joe” I just want to make sure everyone notices the H!!

      • angel-wanna-be

Joe H, Nup wasn’t you, there was another Joe up farther on the post!

      • tom

libs are real racists they just use crack smokin fools to get votes and screw up the country so they can (fix it)

  • barry

FUNNY, IF LA GOT RID OF ALL ITS ILLEGALS, THEIR POWER USAGE WOULD DECLINE BY 25% ANYWAY. IT SEEMS LIKE THERE ARE MANY SPANISH OR MEXICAN LEADERS IN CALIF. DID THEY BECOME CITIZENS IN THE PROPER AND LEGAL WAY, WHEN YOU PUT THEM IN OFFICE, THEY WILL PROTECT THEIR OWN AND NOT THE USA..

    • TIME

      Barry,

From what I understand 25% is on the low side, think more in line with 65%, as well the crime levels would drop by 90% plu, all so the Social programs that your Tax dollars pay for like EBT cards Medicade, and just think about the traffic, all of these things would put the State of Calie back in the black and out of their $54, Billion dollar hole.

  • Glenda

I support Arizona completely. It apparently took a woman to take a stand!!! They are entering this country illegally and if we were to enter Mexico illegally, what do you think would happen to us? The people are behind you.. Keep up the good work.

    Glenda

    • Joe

If ya break a law in Mexico your sent to what they call Jail..is a hell hole and the Illegals breaking a law in the US at least get 3 squares and a dry place to live.. If ya go Juarez the local cops will put the squeeze on ya.. and Say you have broken a law, even if you havent and say, You can stay out of jail (a hell hole) if you give me a twenty USD. Its easier to pay the Jackson and move on.. I tell everyone dont go to Mexico NO MORE.. If the cops dont get ya the drug gangs will. The gangs (most Illegal) are in Az NM and Tx, and spreading.
Just enforce the Fedral law and send back and back and back till they dont have the cash to come back
I love brown and was married to one.. Her Family came to America (1583-1588)before the Pilgrims.. But thats a diffrent story, Back AZ and get the Feds off thier butts., and tell Obama he doesnt not to count on the Illegals to win again. Thats the bottom line,, the vote thatthe illegals sneek thru,, why the lazy guys do nothing in Washington and still win.,
Have a nice day everyone and dance with life..Go to Mexico to dance a Ranchetia

    • Robert Wayne

I’ll tell you one thing. I hope Jan Brewer decides to run for president in 2012. She’d have my vote in a heartbeat. I guess women politicians are like men politicians. Some of them are good and some of them are scum of the earth. Unfortunately, there are some no good trash from the female gender who are in politics too. Janet Napolitano’s ears should be burning right now.

    • http://GOGGLE vaksal

GLENDA,LOOKS LIKE JAN BREWER IS THE STUFF PRESIDENTS ARE MADE OF,MAYBE THE FIRST WOMEN PRESIDENT EVER ELECTED? ,WHY? SHE IS FOR JUSTICE AND LAW AND ORDER,MORE THAN JUST HOLDING A PUBLIC OFFICE AND SITTING IN HER OFFICE,THIS GAL IS ONE GUTSY LADY AND IF SHE RUNS WILL GET MY VOTE FOR SURE. SHE,S THE STUFF THAT MADE THIS NATION GREAT.GREAT JOB WELL DONE .GOVENOR.BREWER. YOU JUST CANT HELP BUT THINK,FINALLY AN HONEST OFFICE HOLDER A NOBLE PUBLIC SERVANT.

    • rwnut

Glenda….Be careful with that “womens liberation” and “affirmative action” stuff. It could be argued that former Gov.Nipplestano allowed this invasion.Maybe the reason Nipplestano won’t do anything to protect Arizona and America is because “she’s” a male in drag!Damned men!

Hay Ma, Pack your bags we’re moving to Arizona. Hope they go with Texas and start A new nation without a bunch of Socialists.

    GO ARIZONA!!!

  • Raymie

Go ARIZONA…hit them where it hurts…there iphones ipads xboxes…t.v. and all other forms of electronics…a region wants to stand for law abiding citizens…and L.A. the heaviestly populated city full of illegals…is trying to defeat Arizona by not doing business with them…for trying to keep law breakers out of our Country…let’s vote these L.A. idiots out too. You break the law to get in you don’t care about our laws at all. Unlike those that take the time to come here legally…we welcome those that show up legally…I realize your Country is shit that is why you are leaving it…don’t try to bring it with you.

  • Kate

Do what I did yesterday. Find an Arizona business, one that you can assume does NOT hire illegals) and buy something from them. I got on the state web site and looked up a list of businesses, found a small business run by a woman which included her picture with her beautiful family, and I ordered something from her company. Then I wrote an email telling her I wanted to support an Arizona business and I will help support their economy even if I’m not able to travel there.

And before you lib kooks ask “How did you know she was not an illegal Mexican?” I will tell you that it was a white woman. I wanted someone who did not look like a Mexican, and a business that probably wouldn’t hire illegals.

So all you legal Mexicans need to stand up and speak out against the illegals who are here! Tell those poeple they are ruining our economy when they come here and drain our resources! They are not welcome.

    • Joe

Kate, Your comment is the most racist comment here. Love that you showed your true colors by saying the store owner’s picture was white. Do you not think she could have been an illegal Canadian? I suppose not because people like you are just racist, hate filled people who really are white supremacist’s hiding under a larger issue. Please crawl back in you hole and please stay out of our state. Would rather deal with a bad economy that have you here.
Yes I am white, legal and I am an Arizonan and I do not support this law.

        Racisim is your only card.
        GO KATE!!!

      • Annie

So Joe, I guess we will all now have to profile in order to support legal people looking to make an honest living, pay taxes and live in a country that gives people the opportunity to do things legally. But you consider that being prejudiced. Why do some people prefer Home Depot to Lowes, that’s a preference that we have and hopefully, we don’t lose our rights to do that. So many of our rights are being lost and violated in the name of JUSTICE by our government? Give me a break. This is AMERICA. I’d like to hear back from you when one of your rights become violated, which may be coming sooner than you think.

      • Kim

It’s unfortunate that another law had to be passed to attempt to control an out-of-control situation in Arizona (similar situation in other border states.) The audacity of the lawbreaking illegal immigrants and their demands for free citizenship, free health care, free education, etc., along with their refusal to assimilate into society as other immigrants have historically done has caused people who would ordinarily freely welcome outsiders to feel less welcoming.

We should immediately repeal the 14th amendment, which was needed after the Civil War to ensure former slaves citizenship but is no longer necessary. Without “anchor baby” status, we might slow down some of the illegal migration. There has to be some semblance of law and order in our society. If someone truly wants to immigrate, follow the same channels others have. File your paperwork, pass the exams, learn the language, pledge allegiance to the US (not Mexico) and we will welcome you with open arms. Oh, and by the way, leave your ties to the gangs behind when you come!

      • charles

        Dear dear Kim,

If you read the article by Chip Wood, he says that the 14th ammedment
never was signed or passed that the reason for it was if the southern
states were not part of the United States but being they were never
seperated from the Union, the 14 ammendment never is, was, or legal.
Sooo alll these anchor babies are just that, anchor babies without an anchor..

        GOD BLESS AMERICA,,,,,,,,,,,,,GOD BLESS AMERICA

      • andrew

wow talk about hate, why is it you libs have a heart so filled with hate? Why cant you have a conversation or debate with out the vitriol?BECAUSE you want to try to make people feel bad, well maybe its time to change your tactics because the american people are getting tired of your pre-school tactics and verbalage.

      • Bob Wire

Andrew, don’t confuse resistance to a bad idea as hate. Just accept it as resistance it’s going to take deeper thought then seem willing to apply.

case in point;Katey say,”And before you lib kooks ask “How did you know she was not an illegal Mexican?” I will tell you that it was a white woman. I wanted someone who did not look like a Mexican, and a business that probably wouldn’t hire illegals.”

Now I can read “racial hate” as motive into her statement very easily but Katey was attempting to make a point, not feeling she was displaying any bias, a bias I “might” conclude rooted in hate.

Never the less, it stands spoken and is what it is. Her bias was deliberate and intentional as she attempt to support her beliefs.

It’s interesting to note, a bigot is always the last one to know, much like a man with a cheating wife. The reason for this is a blindness to the facts and refusal to accept them when confronted with them. We don’t want to believe, we don’t want to see.

This human behavior is shared by us all, men, women, of all races. However, in this crowd it runs wild, unbridled and considered “healthy and the norm” and anything outside considered a “deviant” of the normal. So we get called names, all kind of names, this built up hate is now directed at us for offering resistance to what we feel as a bad idea. ~ I when thought the same thing with the invasion of IraQ, I thought it a bad idea, a fight I lost and you won. So, I’m use to being the odd man out, called names and personal attacks. But I don’t think I was wrong then and I’m not wrong now.

I fear, people are going to get all worked up, people are going to get hurt, government will spent a lot of money and little long term good comes of it. That’s not necessary. This can be done well.

Arizona and all of the US States has a huge immigration problem. I fail to see how SB1070 in and of itself address the real issue, and more of a half baked, knee jerk response to a serious issue that calls for a serious solution.

But I do think, it’s perhaps a great lay down, opening card for the game that’s to follow. A game where cooler minds and long term vision address the “whole issue” and all parties are represented at the table.

I’m African American and I fully support this law. Seeing what has happened in our schools (I have a son in school) with funding for Science and Math going to English Learner classes. Seeing our schools penalized because illegal immigrant families refuse to have their childrent take the Standardized Test (schools lose money if test are not taken). Seeing parents no longer participating in PTA meetings because the schools have to take an additional hour or more for translating to Spanish speaking parents in between each English phrase, and nobody has time for this. Pressing #1 for English (get real). We need a major crackdown on illegal immigrants and Arizona is paving the way.

      • Dale Altona

YOU MUST BE ONE OF THE MINORITY!

      • goat head on

hey you anti american so called white tootie fruity and probably real fruity want to be american, why dont you go to mexico then and lavish your self with all your illegal buddies then. i cant believe you actually side with the liber…….oh i get it , you must be the american hating obama bin laden lover….yeah you are…admit it you communist. i cant believe you dumped on your own people like that. hell i bet you were a draft dodger too. one of them commie fag junkies.

      • Robert Wayne

Kate was 110% right. As for scum like you Joe, I advise you to move south of the border since you love illegal wetbacks so much.

      • denniso

If I didn’t know you better I’d have to say that your comment sounds like the words of a white supremacist…

      • Jim H.

Denniso, Unlike your words, that come from a white inferiorist.

      • denniso

Do you mean what that sounds like? It sounds like you think you’re superior to others, especially nonwhites.

      • Jim H.

Denniso, If you had a sense of humor, you would have gotten the joke. In the humor dept. I am superior to you. I don’t have to over compensate, by being ashamed of my race, to prove that I don’t believe the others are less than mine.

      • Allan

Not that it matters to you, but illegals from Mexico are causing grief for legal Hispanics (and other minorities) across the U.S. You are aiding and abetting that.

      • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Bruce D.

Stop the racist crap. That is getting old and is not going to work anymore. For the left the answer is always “it’s George Bush’s fault” or “your a racist”. We have severe problems and we do not want excuses for failure anymore. We are under attack by millions of Mexicans and we are not going to take it any more. You see what it is like in Warrez and we do not want that here in America.

      • Jose Cordero Torres

Then you need to back your stuff and move to California, amigo. I am an Arizonan, and I back Gov. Brewer, and SB 1070

      • JC

        Go Jose GO! :)

      • rwnut

Jose…I’m a kaaleeforneean and I back Gov. Brewer and SB1070.I also back Sheriff Joe Arpaio. If states had -alls,Arizona right now is the only state that has any! Go for it Arizona!

      • CS Key

Liberals always point the finger and claim “racism” or “discrimination” when they have no argument; they believe that this ends the discussion because now they hold the “superior” position in the debate. Not so…the facts have yet to be discussed.

Conservative, family-values, die-hard Americans point to facts (not at people) and debate along lines of thought and logical progression…good luck with this (it will be worth your time if you really try to debate with facts not finger-pointing). Remember, anything new is generally taxing on the brain.

A thought to ponder…why do young liberals age and become conservative, but young conservatives who get older NEVER become liberal? Hmmmm….

      • JC

You’re right, they like to think they take the moral high ground. Problem for them is that they have no morals.

      • Bob Wire

What a crock! You got ya sum morals have ya? Well try displaying them with your words!

People tend to get more conservative with age it’s true. One’s realization of our on mortality come into focus. As the teeth grow weak and vision blurs. As we seem to think we can still jump as high, but fail to stay up in the air as long. We all lose hang time.

As we take stock of what we achieved and how damn hard it was to do. Sharing it most distasteful to contemplate. I get pinch anywhere for 1 to 2 grand a year from various sources, from family, friends, strangers or small investment decisions I made with my heart and not my head. It’s not hard to come up short especially with this “predator” business environment government has allowed and protected over the last 30 years while “Claiming” to be conservative. I guess conservative for “whom” is the real question.

It is this very conservative notions that should encourage us to get this immigration issue “right” for it could well develop into a huge can of worms and left up to your grandchildren to deal with.

Does anyone see something wrong with doing it “well”?

      • jomama

        Joe -

I LOVE ARIZONA!! AND I SUPPORT THEIR LAW(S) & JAN BREWER FOR PRESIDENT!!
I went to AZ for a vacation the 1st week in May. I love AZ!! I wish the dummies in Massachusetts would grow some balls here & do what they did in AZ.
This is the United States!! Not the Divided States!! What the hell is wrong with you??

      • rwnut

Bob Wire….To you, getting this “immigration issue” right, means one thing; “comprehensive immigration reform”,which to you and every other liberal lefty means,”AMNESTY AND OPEN BORDERS”.I’ll say it to you just like I’ve said it to Teddy McCain,Put it where the son don’t shine! By the way, you’re mind must be going Bob,you forgot to throw in “racist”. Hussien Yo Mama will be pissed Bob!

  • David Luepke

Why not give the illegals a one way ticket to California?

    • crystal

      Hey, don’t send them here!!!

      • Palin12

        How about Massachussetts then? :-)

  • John

Actually, what the Arizona Corporation Commissioner was telling them that if they want to boycott, make it a true boycott and not get ANY power from AZ and he would broker the redistribution of the 25% of LA’s power that comes from AZ. He was telling them to “fish or cut bait”, that they cannot have it both ways! AZ knows that if they eliminate the 25% of LA’s power produced in AZ, that the entire power grid will be overwhelmed and Will go dark – either that or all LA residents will have to cut their usage by 25%, and we all know that isn’t going to happen! “Put up or shut up” was the message and a great one!

  • Robert Kapteyn

    We all should support Arizona!
We are going on vacation there!
Did anyone publish a list of Arizona businesses
    that we should buy from?
This tit for tat bull should not happen but L.A. started
    this.
Did anyone publish a list of L.A. enterprises that we should boycott!.
In a previous post , someone criticized the A.C.L U.
I am a member and only the members can change the erroneous direction they take.
Write the A.C.L.U. and demand that they take the focus of the protection
of non legal residents and turn to protect legal residents.
I immigrated here 54 year ago and am grateful for the opportunity to live in the U.S.

I CONCUR FULLY WITH THE STAND ARIZONA IS TAKING. WE AS AMERICANS CAN ALSO HELP BY MAKING OUR SUMMER VACTION TO BE IN ARIZONA AND ELIMINATE ANY STATE NOT BACKING ARIZONA. LETS SHOW OUR SUPPORT BY HELPING REPEL THIS TERRIBLE INJUSTICE. DO YOU AS ADULTS, NOW THINK AT ALL WHAT YOUR PARENTS WHO HAVE BROUGHT US TO THIS LAND OF THE FREE WOULD BE PROUD OF YOUR ALIENATION OF OUR CONSTITUION THEY AND WE HAVE SO JUSTLY FOUGHT FOR. IMMIGRANTS ARE WELCOME AS LONG AS THEY DO WHAT IT TAKES TO BECOME A US CITIZEN. AND THAT INCLUDES, AS ALL WHO HAVE DONE SINCE OUR EARLY YEARS, SPEAKING ENGLISH. ALL SPANISH SIGNS, PHONE CALLS AND GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SHOULD GO BACK TO ONLY ENGLISH. THE REDUCED COST OF EXTRA SPANISH MATERIALS ALONE WOULD BE TREMENDOUS. WE AS AMERICANS MUST FIGHT BACK IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE. I, AS A VIETNAM VETERAN WILL DO EXACTLY THAT, INCLUDING BACK TO WAR IF I NEED TOO. I WILL PROTECT MYSELF AND FAMILY AS THE CONSTITUION SAYS I CAN. FREEDOM FOR ALL, BUT IN A LEGAL FORM AND WAY. ILLEGALS OF ANY NATION SHOULD REFORM OR RETREAT!!!!

Rock on baby, Go Arizona, put the screws to LA, besides after a few gangs try to take over during a black out maybe LA will think better about getting tough.
Besides if California and its wimpinator governor would get tough on illegal aliens and throw some of the bums out, hey maybe they wouldnt be broke!

  • WarriorH

    Where’s Rodney King?

  • Glen

Sounds like Arizona has some backbone. The outcry against the Arizona law definitely reflects the dumbing-down of America. Arizona has the right to control its borders when the federal government refuses to do so. Other states need to use this situation to demand that the federal government finally establish true control over its borders. Boycotting one state because it reacted when its back was against the wall and it had literally no other choice is foolish.

    • Eddy H

I WISH OUR WIMPY OFFICIALS, BEGINNING WITH OUR GOVERNOR (WHO IS RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION) IN TEXAS HAD THE NERVE TO NOT ONLY SUPPORT ARIZONA, BUT TO PASS SIMULAR LAWS. MAYBE THIS NEEDS TO BECOME AN ELECTION ISSUE.

  • Sylvia

    Go Arizona! Good For us!!

    • Brenda

Go ARIZONA!! C’mon Texas get in the game. It will only take a few states to get the ball really rolling. Let’s TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!!

      • Dale Altona

Right on it is time to join with Arizona. Stand up AMERICA

      • http://? Allie Spurgeon

AMEN!!!! I am old, and remember when America was THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!! It is so sad to see what we have become. I believe every State should stand behind Arizona. I pray we can take America back before it is too late.

      • Robert Wayne

I live in Louisiana, about 25 miles east of the Texas border and I’m hoping both Louisiana and Texas side with Arizona on this. If the federal govt. had not been so lax over the years in dealing with these Mexican criminals, things wouldn’t be to this point. And it’s obvious that Obama is on Mexico’s side and against American citizens on this. As for as I’m concerned the communist ba*tard and all of his friends like Holder, Pelosi and the rest of the America hating libtards need to be deported along with all of the illegal aliens in this country.

  • Barbra Bronsberg

It is time that Arizona and all other States that have half a brain start to back Arizona and laws that should have been imposed by the Federal Government long ago. Arizona’s laws are even strickter than the laws the Federal Government never enforced. Do these other States not know what ILLEGAL means? They are breaking our laws. Their protests along with the ACLU whackos should be totally ignored. All the states should get behind Arizona and enforce immigration laws against ILLEGALS.

    • Ron

I agree. I would not threaten to do it . Just cut it off and let them know that Arizona does not deal with blackmailers.ILLEGAL-contrary to or forbidden by official rules, regulations, laws etc.

      • http://TDSpoweredbygoogle Nancy Dalrymple

I agree also, how can we get a petition to all states for this? I want to know how Arizona did it and then we can start in all the states. illegals take from those who are legal and having babys here is their ticket to freedom and health care etc. There should be a law that if they come here they cannot have any childen until they work at lest a year or more. The hell with the takers now is the time to give to this country that has cleaned them up and gave them a home and education etc.All those who disobey the laws and come here illegal should never ahve another chance period. You needto live in Arizona to see the crime that is happening there and all the people in ajils that are 90 % illegals. Never abuse them but send them home.

      • denniso

You people are being reactionary about this. You want to ignore the fact that racial profiling will happen, despite what the law says, because cops will look for petty infractions involving people who look like mexican immigrants in order to ask for rheir papers.
You also are being swept along in a frenzy by some politicians looking for political gain w/ the issue.
We’re being whipped into a fervor over ‘illegal immigration’ at a time when local police forces are overburdened by serious crime comitted by mostly American citizens, and the vast majority of immigrants are only here to work at low paying jobs and raise their kids.

People repeat continually that the sole issue is the illegality of people being here w/o proper papers….get in your car, drive down the highway and watch all the illegality around you w/ virtually everyone breaking the law by speeding, while putting all of us in danger of more risk on the roads…much more danger than all of the millions of illegals represent to us.

This is more witchhunt than law and it’s very hard not to see some degree of racism in it.

      • crystal

If a cop is racial profiling, he/she is doing it regardless of any legislation or not. Racial profiling doesn’t need a law. What we can do is people who are against Arizona can pay for illegals out of their own purse/wallet and leave the rest of us and our tax dollars for what our tax dollars should be spent on.

      • Eric in AZ

Thats right. We have enough crime to deal with. We don’t need to add Mexicos.
FYI, most crime in AZ are committed by Illegals and their associates. I hear it each and every day.

      • Jim H.

Denniso, I guess because SOME drivers speed, we should just IGNORE every other law too. LAME.

      • Dale Altona

When I am pulled over I am required to provide id and proof of insurance. If they find I am lacking or a warrant or what ever I would be fined or taken to jail. I see no difference in what Arizona is doing than Seattle area police. In fact I would say the King county sheriffs department couldn’t pass the test of serving the general public. Washington is boycotting Arizona because the politicians are stupid. The general public doesn’t seem to care but they will. It is comming to a boil.

      • Airangel

Denniso, I challenge you to get in YOUR car or fly to Arizona, CA, NM or TX and stroll the deserts, go to the border towns of Tuscon, Nogales, Sonora, Calexico, El Paso, Carlsbad…whichever border town you check out, also check out the schools and the hospitals and even the degradation of the cities then give me your assessment of what illegals are doing to this country – don’t just drive down the freeway…let along dividing us….plus as you stated…we have our own citizens to contend with we don’t need to support the other 26% of illegals that are criminals in our prisons!

      • Matt Mathews

You do a great job of using words and figures that lie to make your point of truth .

        The truth is
1 When the illigal Mexican comes across our border and breaks a law,
In general the law is either ignored or the law goes away . what is
left is what you use to make your point on!
2 in the passed 60 years (about the same time of our present illegal
alien problem) California has gone from the worlds 5th largest
        economy to a bankrupt STATE.
3 California’s prisons are loaded with illegal iliens
yet the damage done to the privet section of the FREE society goes
        unrecored.
4 Californias GOVERNOR makes a public statement—-”The illegal alien
has little or no effect on the STATE BUDGET DEFICT”.

That’s right —the ILLEGAL ALIEN is “NOT” the PROBLEM—-

——-The problem is MONITORING OUR LEADERS ——

      • Steven Thomas

I say profile away. If 99.99999% of the illegal people in my state are from Mexico, guess what, ask them all for identification. It is a federal law that you must carry documentation with you at all times!

If there is news that there is a blond haired blue eyed guy carrying a bomb and is threatening to blow up a building, don’t you think the police should stop every person fitting that description to see if they have the right person?

I would love the see the educational backgrounds and intelligence tests on the people that are screaming bloody murder about AZ’s laws. My guess is they are uneducated and lack any sort of intellect. They should be pissed because it is the illegal immigrants that are taking their jobs! Wake up and see what is going on, higher crime rates, less jobs, money leaving the country, funds not being spent on groups that truly need them to subsidize illegals, the list goes on.

The people that are against it should go to Mexico and help them with their economy and to keep them in Mexico. If you want to come here, do it the proper way!

      • marvin

dennisoso it ok to pick the law you want to and ignore other is that why phoenix is #1 or #2 in murders i try to obay all laws and if you are here illegally and most 98% are not white so if you are looking for an illegal there is a good chance he is black or brown just a little fact, i an white and have been stopped in a lot of states not becauce i was speeding or breaking the law, but because most states have dui check points or auto check points the first thing they want is id and if i as an american citizen can not or do not produce it i will not drive off they will impound my vehicle and i can go to jail if you are driving with out id it is called dws[driveing when stuped] if you don,t like are law go to mexico and pull your racist profiling sh–, see were it getts you, in jail or dead so go bow to calderon in his failed state we don,t need you ,here we sometimes deport in mexico they sometime kill

      • http://GOGGLE vaksal

TO DENNISO,YOU SAID IT ALL,THERE ARE PEOPLE SPEEDING IN THEIR CARS THAT COULD KILL PEOPLE,BUT THINK ABOUT IT,WHEN CAUGHT THEY ARE FINED OR ARRESTED,THEY DONT GIVE YOU A PRIZE OF BEING IMMUNE TO THE LAWS OF THE STATE YOUR DRIVING IN,BUT NO YOU ARE TELLING EVERYONE ,OH NO THATS RACIAL PROFILING,HOW ABOUT WHEN THOSE VERY ILLEAGALS DRIVE THEIR VECHICLES AND KILL SOMEONES FAMILY MEMEBER OR SHOOT THEM? PERSONALLY PLEASE JUST USE YOUR LOGIC,THEY ARE LAWBREAKERS THAT HAVE SPIT ON THE LAWS OF THIS NATION.I AM FOR LEAGAL IMMIGRATION WHERE THEY CAN REVEIW EACH CASE IN DETAIL,SO NOT TO LET THE MURDERS AND CRIMINALS IN FREELY AS WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON TO LONG,JUST LOOK AT THE FACTS NATIONWIDE,LATIN STREET GANGS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY,AND NOONE KNOWS WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE,I AM FED UP WITH THESE HYPE FROM THE LIBERAL BUNCH RUNNING THIS SIDESHOW,AND IF THE MORONS RUNNING CALIF.WANT A WAR SO BE IT.LET THEM HEAT THEIR HOMES BY BURNING THEIR HOMES TO THE GROUND FOR HEAT,THEM LET THE ILLEAGALS DO AS THEY WISH,THE END RESULT IS ANOTHER MEXICAN WAR ,WITH THE CRIMINALS IN CHARGE OF L.A. INSTEAD OF THE LIBERAL LEFT THAT IS ADVOCATING TREASON.BY NOT ENFORCING THE( UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION) PROTECTING THIS NATION FROM INVADERS OF OUR BORDERS AND ENEMYS FROM WITHIN AND LAWBREAKERS ARE NOONES FRIENDS.NOT EVEN YOURS DENNISO ,SO LIVE WITH IT.

      • marvin

denniso i have been stopped for walking down the sidewalk and ask for something that 99% of all american have it is called id stuped and if you have no crimnal charges you show they look you walk only reason you or anyone would not support this is you are doing something wrong

      • greyhog

Hey there denniso- if you think this is just political, why not take a trip to the Arizona border and camp out a few nights! I’m betting you’d be singing a different tune once the inconvenient facts hit you in the face! Funny how facts seem to replace fancy in the real world.

      • http://lesliebard.blogspot.com Leslie Fish

Excuse me, but “Mexican” is not a race. Genetically, Mexicans are a mix of Indian and White. Well, so am I. So are a lot of perfectly legal Americans. For that matter, the population of Arizona is 40% mixed-White-and-Indian, and another 20% pure-blooded Indian (which makes Whites a minority). That goes for our police forces, too. So, just how are Indian and part-Indian police supposed to do “racial profiling” against other part-Indian people?

        –Leslie Fish < )O(

      • Palin12

Dumniso….when you are speeding you are temporarily breaking a law. I don’t think an officer can visit your home the next day and give you a ticket. But illegal aliens by virtue of staying here are continously breaking the law. Even though I almost lost my breakfast, I watched Calderon’s speech (with that ugly witch in the background hopping up and down). How come he didn’t make any reference to Mexico’s immigration law? Such as carrying your papers at all times, 10 years in prison for returning after a deportation, showing proof of not being a financial burdon to the citizens, can only buy property if you don’t upset the “demographic balance”. Then Obummer states that “we are not a nation defined by its boundaries”. What hypocracy from the liberal lunatics!

      • Pat R

Racial Profiling is done by Obama & staff 24/7.

What about the incident in Arkansas yesterday? It was stated
that the ones that killed one Officer and shot another were illegal aliens. I am so sick of all this BS.
Furthermore, I despise that the Pres. of Mexico had the gall to come on
American soil and chastize American citizens. He apparently doesn’t like Arizona’s law! (I think it’s too lax) Let’s just adopt Mexico’s on immigration law and be done with it.
What really p@ssed me off was Obama standing there and letting that arrogant, Mexican pos rant and rail against Americans.
        IMPEACH OBAMA NOW!

      • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Bruce D.

It sounds like you are saying police should ignore petty infractions if they look like they might be illegal aliens. Now illegals should be exempt from the law. It is a silly argument to ignore petty fractions with the goal of ignoring illegal aliens. I am told in California as much as 25% of the prisions are illegals. It is time you wake up Denniso. America is being over run by millions of illegal aliens and we are losing control of law and order in the border states.

      • JMFELS

Denniso….how can you miss the point for one did you really read the law…or are you reling on what you hear from the pres on down to the a.g. yes there are laws being broken and people are paying price for it ….so if you have broke the law by entering this country illegaly then you deserve to pay the price and away you go back to square one.. if you are only restating the above mentioned persons than you are part of the problem….illegal is still illegal no matter what color your skin is if you are here that way then tough..besides the police ice and boarder guards are always looking for illegal drug dealers and smugglers….besides the ones who pay the smugglers are really stupid to pay anywhere from $2500 and up to someone to bring you here that way…they should use the money more wisely and take care of themselves and go against the drug cartels….but then again you dont care you just want to rant and rave like rules for radicals call for……well God Bless and God Bless America.. and God Bless Arizona and any state that stands up to enforce the laws…..

      • tshoot

Too bad about racial profiling. I get racially profiled all the time. All the chicanos look at me cause I’m a middle aged white man and assume I am wealthy. If racial profiling bothers you go back to meh-ico where you can get killed by drug runners. what are the police supposed to do, hunt down illegal Norwiegans? If you arent legal then get the hell out. cry me a river—-Spakata.

      • Kim McGough

Then maybe all laws should be revoked and MAYBE WE SHOULD GET OUR SIX GUNS BACK OUT, you can not stop racial profiling, and have laws to protect our borders without some kind of profiling. Who is targeted? the illegals coming from Mexico. WHAT ARE THEY? How can you round them up without profiling? Soon there will not be any reason for borders, when your Prez. and the reat of the goons in DC get through it will be one world one money and one religon, So have it your way and quit calling names and belittling each other, soon you want have a decent country to live in unless you can come together and agree on what to do about important issues, quit blame games and realize that the past is the past, and to bad, you can’t change it, but if AMERICANS GET TOGETHER THEY CAN WORK OUT THESE PROBLEMS, but it will be concessions on both sides,

      • Jose Cordero Torres

Mr. Deniso, read the law before opening mouth and state something you have no idea what is happening in Arizona. The problem with most of comments made about Az. are made by people that have no idea or do not want to understand that we under siege from South of the Border. The immigration laws in Mexico, would curl your toes if you read them ALL. So quit bashing the Az citizens doing what we feel is the right thing to do because the Federal Government has failed to enforce the existing laws, and closing the border to stem the continuous flow of illegal immigrants from Mexico. By the way lots of Canadian’s get deported back to Canada because they have either worked without proper visa, remained in the US with an expired visitors visa. Many other residents of other countries fall under the same category. So amigo, get your ducks in a row before you start condeming the Arizona residents, all 70% of us who approve SB1070.

      • JustaPatriot38

Well, Mr. Denniso, I think that you have a very narrow view of the situation. The Arizona law is simply an attempt to enforce a current Federal law; it is not new. It is not only the Mexican felons who enter illegally, there are many felon OTMs (Other Than Mexicans) who are entering illegally through this portal, and a great many of the OTMs have a definite intent to do this country harm. I have observed that most of the people who cry “racist” the loudest and most often are the most racist of all, and usually have something to gain by it. All states should follow the Arizona example. Any U.S. Citizen worthy of being called a U.S. Citizen should not have a problem with showing his/her ID with pride. Nearly all, if not all, U.S. Citizens carry a Drivers License or State issued ID, and Federal law requires all LEGAL immigrants carry their ID with them at all times. The police have a great deal more to do than pester locals that are not doing something suspicious. If profiling bothers people, the police should just randomly check everyone’s ID. As far as cutting off L.A. power, I feel it is quite appropriate; if L.A. is going to boycott Arizona it should include all products including electricity. Wake Up, America!

      • charles

        Well denniso,

you show that you really did graduate from 3rd grade..
you sound smart but talk dump……

      • denniso

I’ve been on the border. I don’t advocate that people break the law to come here illegally. What you all are missing is that the problem is blown out of all proportion to the real risk of crime from illegals. My example of driving as a greater risk to our lives was used to illustrate that cops have to prioritize what they enforce, and theoretically they should go after the greater threats to society. If speeding and reckless driving are a greater threat to everyone on the road then why aren’t you people outraged that the police don’t slow speeders down and save more lives?
That’s my point…you’re going after a group of people who mostly don’t harm anyone…most crime is comitted by american citizens and there are very few citizens who are victims of violent crime by illegals.
So the outrage and anger and hatred directed toward illegals is way out of proportion to the problem caused by them…that’s all I’m trying to get you to see…

      • GregS

Denniso, it’s the city government of LA, as well as any other external entitiy that decides to boycott Arizona, which is “being reactionary about this”…NOT the people on this forum! LA needs to keep its nose out of the business of other states! I should think that the state of California has enough problems of its own (especially financial) for LA to be concerned about, without getting involved in the affairs of Arizona. Shame on LA!

Secondly, you raised the issue about “…the vast majority of immigrants [that] are only here to work at low paying jobs and raise their kids.” My question to YOU is what about those who are here LEGALLY, who are unemployed and looking for jobs, so that they have money to raise their kids??? Whether low-paying or high-paying, those jobs are being taken by ILLEGALS!

      • Action Ministry

Please consider that when I go to the doctor I must show proper ID and health insurance card; that’s the policy supported by the law that I must adhere to. Is that fair? Why can’t I sneek past the doctor and get some medicine? People in the hallway would stop me if I didn’t belong and I would be arrested and sent “home” for not following the law. How is this any different? I can see the doctor, just have to get all the documents, ID, and proofs that I am in the office correctly. I don’t speak “doctor” but I have to tell them in some basic term what is needed or what is wrong. I don’t feel violated against for having to do that. Is that racial profiling in the doctor’s office? There is scripture for this – I Peter 2:15-17 “…Fear God. Honor the King.”

        Deniso,

One simple question. If you do not want anyone to prove they are here legally, then do you not remove ANY AND All methods for finding out if someone is here ILLEGALLY, which is a crime?

What gives you or the far left the right to pick and choose the laws to be enforced?

What about the 2005 UNANIMOUS decision by the supreme court giving all federal law enforcement officials to demand proof of citiczenship without any reason whatsoever?

Also, I am sick and tired of the argument the illegals are only doing the jobs Americans wont. They are in direct competition to my job and driving down my wages.

Let L.A. protest in the dark!!!!!

      • R. L. Goorey

        Oh, BOO HOO–
If you’re not involved in illegal activity or an illegal alien you have nothinto worry about!!!

      • aman

        denniso,

What country do you come from?

      • denniso

None of your business what country I come from…it doesn’t matter.

      • Another American Citizen

Denniso & Maruca, ……I agree with you both ! Why doesn’t everyone see one of the real reasons our U.S. is down,….is it because of this war ? etc, etc, etc,…… When the Towers were hit, they called them Mexican Terrorists….when there is a latin looking face…..they blame Mexicans ! When there is a crime …..they blame Mexican, when the economy goes down,…. they blame Mexicans. Have they blamed the stock drops on Mexicans yet? Exactly where is the blame for our many, many different disasters…..come on, lets stay focused “quit blaming Mexicans”. Lets focus on our many more serious problems that need attention. Also, like Maruca said: there are other Latin races, or is it convenient to just pretend and just accuse a “Mexican”? And when you mention crimes, how about the other 5000 crimes that are not related to Latins, why aren’t they mentioned here ? Maybe people are just angry because of this terrible economy and are dying to point the finger wherever it sticks so they can release some of their frustrations. Like whipping your child because you had a quarrel with your spouse…..shame on you ! Lets focus on the real issues and quit lashing out at whatever hate gossip that comes along. What about the incident where the 20 Immigration offices beat one immigrant to death and another Immigration officer killed a 14 year old boy while this boy was in his own country? I don’t see you talking about these incidents. I bet most of you out there were also immigrants, and now you talk and pretend like you all have blonde hair and blue eyes. All the Latin people I know are mostly hardworking people and just want to feed their families. Cut the racial profiling and just admit that you LOVE getting your jobs done cheap or free. I hear of many of these immigrants getting robbed or killed just by walking on the streets. And when it comes to working, they are not always paid for their hard labor, but I don’t hear you talking about that either! They are used and abused with long grueling hours of labor and heavy work that no one wants to do. So next time you want any work done that is too heavy for you to do…..try doing it yourself….believe me, you will wish you had just one of these hard working immigrants there to pay cheap to & to do that hard work for you! And as Maruca said: you can’t just say (Mexican) because there are other immigrants from Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua, Equador, China, Russia, Koreans, Bolivia, Peru …the list goes on and on. Don’t show your ignorance when it comes to where an immigrant can come from…..Maybe if you look down from your high horses and tell yourself, “this nation was made up of mostly immigrants”….and also ask yourselves “were you or your ancestors also immigrants” ? Be honest and unblind yourself & stop the finger pointing! We are all so involved in finger pointing these days at Latins, that we have all lost what should be our “REAL FOCUS”. I also agree with Denniso, that this AZ law is more of a “Witch Hunt” than law and it has quite a degree of “Racism” in it. I remember this similarity with the “Blacks” way back when…….how many races do we crucify before our “Racism” is realized ?

      • Ann

I am american and I have to show who I am when stopped by police! I have to identify myself just to write a check! Why would mexican or etc. be any different! Why would you reward criminals for breaking the law? Goodness where we would be in life without laws. It would be nice to find the “large employers” for our own people who have lost their jobs. Do you think you could go to mexico and not show papers as to who you are and where you came from? You are right about being used as a political weapon!

      • tom

that crack will rot youre brain.

      • goat head on

i could be wrong but i could have swore that there is no such thing as anchor babies. if there isnt there sure needs to be. to be legal you have to be legal. and one big HOOORAAAY for arizona

      • Hugh Jordan

On some issues I am conservative and others I tend to have a more progressive outlook, but when it comes to illegal aliens… illegal is illegal is illegal. What is not to understand?

I saw an interview with a young woman from Mexico who was completing her college degree. It turned out that she was illegally in the country and authorities were trying to deport her. Her family came here without invitation, had their kids educated in our schools at our expense, got free medical care through the welfare system and a free ride in college.

She believed that she “was just pursuing the dream” and should be allowed to stay. She genuinely felt that there was nothing wrong with coming here illegally, milking the system, and getting HER dream at the expense of others. On most levels, she seemed like a nice young woman.. but illegal is illegal is illegal. She got caught… time to go home. I she wants to be here… get on line like the honest people.

      • coal miner

        Hugh,

I usually agree with the people on the left and the moderate right.I don’t believe illegal aliens are entitled to a free education.I had to pay for my children’s and granddaughter’s schooling.Let their parent countries pay for their’s.I don’t know about racial profiling, that is another matter.

      • Jimmie

It is my understanding that we are the only country in the world that makes a child born in this country and makes it a citizen. Why? The U.S.A. is the greatest country in the world, everyone wants to come here. Someone needs to tell Obama that. I live about 3 miles from the Mexican border. Mexico has some of the worst laws in the world. If youa re caught in Mexico without a passport or papers, you are put in a Mexican jail for 2 years. Mexican laws are draconian. As for racial profiling – that’s a joke. You can’t help it. If I had robbed a bank they would be looking at all the fat old ladies, why look at a skinny young male? I’m not particularly bright but we have some of the stupidest people in the world in office and Washington. I weep for my country.

      • John Crum

WE are being run by a bunch of morons in Washington
600 14 year old children could do a better job.
John Crum aka old man crum

      • Rick Quill

Ron I agree with you. Granted, supposedly they can’t do that because then they would be breaking the law themselves but!! What if Arizona and other border states were to seceed from the U.S.? Then they wouldn’t be subject to “ANY” of the laws handed down by D.C. and they would be free to deal with illegal immigration as they see fit. Of course California would never seceed only because the progressive base in that state has become too dependent on all the “free” handouts and government sustenance programs they currently receive. Arizona has demonstrated that it has a backbone whereas California has proven they are wimps and have no backbone. I say “put California in the dark”.

      • Hugh Jordan

As a Californian, I am disappointed in our state’s gutless reaction to this problem. When I see crowds of demonstrators carrying Mexican flags demanding open borders for their relatives, I wonder if they would be out in the streets if the “immigrants” were from elsewhere.

This is a s much a cultural invasion as an ethnic invasion. They want to retake “occupied Mexico”.

Visit a public park in LA primarily use by those from south of the border. If you can find a square yard on the ground without litter you are lucky… while empty trash receptacles stand nearby.

      • tom

the park thing is the same here in the north east, there are as many illigals in my city as was the population here in the 70s

      • http://lesliebard.blogspot.com Leslie Fish

Is there any way we can cut off our LA-bound water, too?

        –Leslie Fish < )O(

      • Elaine

I agree with you Ron. I say Arizona should go ahead and do it. California always acts so mighty and superior. It is an attitude there, even while the state is broke, the people are mean and unfriendly, the crime is unreal, etc. Arizona is doing the right,
decent, moral and legal thing to protect its people. By far that is
more than California has ever done. California is going down so
quickly and they continue to boast. I am in transition at the moment, think I will move the Arizona.

    • Annie

According to a piece on Greta Van Sustern – Fox NEWS, on Thursday evening, the Arizona law is LESS severe than what the Federal Govt. law stated, not worse than what the Fed. Govt. worked (?) on in regard to illegal immigrants. check it out for that fact.

    • Wayne

Is Arizona the only state with any backbone . Three cheers for Arizona
      go for it!

      • crystal

No. Rhode Island has just sent a bill up that mirrors Arizona’s new legislation. Orange County, CA this week is backing Arizona and has stated they would observe all immigration laws.

    • CS Key

When did it become correct behavior to vote or side with people/cultures because they “look” like you? I thought more importantly that truth was the reigning quality that we seek as Americans.

First Black America votes for a “black” president (97% of the black population voted for him) and now Mr. Villarigosa (sp?)threatens the legal actions of law in support of those who share his ethnicity!

When did race matter more than law? We are in a sorry state of crisis when the ties of American loyalty are nullified by our country of origin! I think I will go out, find, and begin to identify with every Scottish person I come across! God Save the Queen!

      • Hugh Jordan

        Great observation.

    • George in NY

      Barb,
I agree, but most of those crying about AZ law do have something to hide or are close to if not related to someone who is here illegal. One cure for the border is those large shipping containers that come into this country from China each year. Over 150 million each year and we only send 20-30 million back, the rest are melted down for scrape and reformed into something else. Airzona could aquire some of them scraped containers and line the border with them 3 or 4 high and put high voltage electric fence along the top. Then the only job they would have is cleaning the fried border crossers and dropping them back to their side of the containers. What do you think, I bet it would stop any new illegalls or at least slow it down.I am sure if it were Americans going into Mex and comitting crimes , Mexico would have done the sams or worse years ago.

Well, here it is at last… surprise, surprise…

Lolo Soetoro, Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro, baby Maya Soetoro, and 9 year old Barry Soetoro.

      obama is an ilegal

This registration document, made available on Jan. 24, 2007, by the Fransiskus Assisi school in Jakarta, Indonesia, shows the registration of Barack Obama under the name Barry Soetoro made by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro.

      Name: Barry Soetoro
      Religion: Islam
      Nationality: Indonesian

How did this little INDONESIAN Muslim child – Barry Soetoro, (A.K.A. Barack Obama) get around the issue of nationality to become President of the United States of America ?

      PART 2:

In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama’s qualifications for the presidency, the group “Americans for Freedom of Information” has released copies of President Obama’s college transcripts from Occidental College…

The transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia while an undergraduate at the school. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify for this scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship.

This document provides the smoking gun that many of Obama’s detractors have been seeking – that he is NOT a natural-born citizen of the United States – necessary to be President of these United States. Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya, here we see that there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship..

Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama’s campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records.

Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still on-going but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. attorney general, Eric Holder.

Mr. Holder has refused comment on this matter.
