Think about this one….Obama was 47 years old when he took office or there abouts. It takes years & years to become a lawyer. That would put him well into his 30′s by the time he finished. A lot these things he claims to have done had to be overlapping, including the 12 years at U of Chicago. I personally know a doctor who taught there at U of C, that said BO was not a full time Professor there. But it was more like a once-a-week “gig”. Otherwise he couldn’t possibly have packed all that other stuff into his life between his mid-30′s and late-40′s, and then have time to be in the Illinois senate 8 years (2 terms). That is pretty tight cramming of events.

My personal theory is that the Women’s Liberation Movement was more about politics than it was about empowering women. The vicious attacks on Sarah are a good example. Where are the women’s groups who should be sticking up for a woman striving for success?
It is interesting to me that the movement started in earnest during the Carter years after the government grew larger and the dollar grew smaller, so much smaller that it took two workers in the family to make a decent living. Could it be that the whole Women’s Lib thing was to convince women they should be happy to do the 5-9 grind, when in fact, thanks to Big Government, they no longer had any reasonable choice?

You can always tell when someone has altered the video, I might add, because it “jumps”. Karen, I try to keep an open mind to facts, & check things out, and have not always voted for the conservative, but for who I thought was best for the country. I just checked out this link. And I was “almost” interested. But not if the person selling it is already against someone from the get go. That means they have an ax to grind in their commentrary of her book.

It would be more persuasive for people, if this critic of Palin’s book “Going Rogue” was neutral. And could be more objective. Its obvious from reading that site, just now, that they clearly had something against her before they even opened the book. They talk about: “The most revolting quote”. That doesn’t actually make people warm up to the critic or necessarily believe them. That shows they already didn’t like her from the start.

For what its worth, I don’t really think Palin will run in 2010. I would be surprised. I think she is just being the cheerleader for the Conservatives right now. I think the Left is just barking up the wrong tree, and then someone else may slip into place on the Conservative ticket.

Karen J, Two things. Most Oil companies are not owned by a board of conservative fat cat rich guys. That is a misconception. A stereotype. Most of the oil companies are owned by thousands of individual people through various mutual funds. Its someone’s retirement nest egg in their portfolio. They have nothing to do with the oil company except to receive a small profit now and then, and maybe a loss.

And my 2nd point was that there are just as many rich democrats as republicans. And I am not rich by any means–Sort of moderate, and clipping coupons at present like many of us these days. But there is nothing wrong with being rich. Its the obsession with it that causes the evil.

After all, most philanthropists MUST BE rich in order to give. ei: Bill gates. et al.

Karen, Good question….I don’t think research has ever been done on that about how many shareholders send in their proxy votes or how many don’t bother. So we can’t second guess them. It would merely be a guess on our part. It used to be, in the old days, that the “Big Oil” companies were just a few rich guys….But no more. That has all changed. So our ideas about them must change. When we think of the “Big Oil” companies now, we forget most of the profits do not go to that big block of Rich guys. Although I am sure there are some, (Al Gore for instance does have oil stocks as well as “W”). Most stockholders are the “Average Joe”. And they are “We the People”. They are not the enemy. The big oil companies are “US”!

As for Carli Fiorina, remember that Fiorina did work on the McCain presidential campaign so I would like to think that Palin knows what she’s doing supporting Fiorina.
Are you a California resident? Just curious…sometimes a successful business person might just make a better candidate to start a fix on California’s liberal politics than a politician would. I also am liking Meg Whitman for governor for that same reason.

I have to AGREE with you, Sidewinder, that we don’t need to remove generic references of God from our money and other places. The Founding Fathers often made reference to God in meetings and even prayed at government meetings. It started with George Washington himself, as well. But I keep needing to repeat in many of my comments the fact that one will NEVER find the words “Separation of church and state” in our Constitution. It just isn’t there. That were the opinion of one of the Founders, true. But in addition to the words “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…” the 1st amendment also says “or prohibit the FREE EXERCISE thereof;…” And unless this has recently changed, there is a paid minister who begins the Congressional sessions with prayer each time. This has been happening since day one! There are Bible verses written on many government buildings and monuments. I don’t think the Founders and others through the years were as paranoid as we are today about it. I agree we should follow the Constitution and NOT establish an official religion,& for the purposes you stated. That was all it meant. Not that we should try destroy God. Even Jefferson believed in God. He just didn’t believe in the church.

Yes, Seperation of Church and State is a clarification of that part of the First Amendment. This country was truely BLESSED with such brilliant men as the Founders. I would not second guess them.

Is the world really 6,000 years old?
There are those who would love to attain the highest office in the land who believe that.
The Bible states that God created the Heavens and the Earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th.

How long is one of God’s days?

On the 4th day of creation…THE 4TH DAY.

And God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. 16 And God made the two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; he made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light upon the earth.

Obviously, the first 3 days of creation were measured by something other than the Earth rotating on its axis in relation to the sun. Because the Sun was not created until the 4th day. The light that was created on Day One was obviously NOT the sun.

As it states in Chapter 1 Verse 14, God created “lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And he did that on the 4th day. Our sun was created on the 4th day of creation.

Our 24 hour Earth day is determined by the size of the Earth, and the speed in which is spins on its axis.
So if God was not using OUR sun as a measurement of a day, how long then is one of God’s days? It could be 250 million years. No one knows. Young Eartheres certainly do not know. The Bible does not tell us.

I don’t want these people in government. They could not figure their way out of a paper bag.

I agree with your assessment of the length of the days of God Creation being unknown. The Bible also says, “A thousand years is like one day to God”. I think it means God is greater than we are. He doesn’t measure like we do. Time means nothing to him, and we need to learn patience. On the other hand, God is so Awesome, He could do whatever He wants. He COULD create in one literal Earth Day, OR he could “take His sweet time” and create over a 100,000 years. It just means a measure of time. Either way, I am fine with it. But just because someone believes He may have created everything in 6 days and rested on the 7th , doesn’t mean they are not intelligent. There are many super-intelligent Scientists who believe in Creation and many who are literalists. There is even an organization of Creation Scientists. So intelligence is not necessarily a factor. Also, until the 1960′s people were not worried about teaching Creation in class, but about teaching evolution as fact. I notice it is still called the “THEORY” of evolution. But it is rammed down our throat as “IF” it were a sacred religion. It has BECOME the RELIGION of the modern world.

Let me say that I don’t thnk that the world is only 6000 years old.

Why, a number of things but first off is, Pumapunku in Bolivia I have stood there and seen these buildings in person thus knowing that they date to 12000 plus – BC kind of makes one question any other time lines.
Also keep in mind that the stones used are so hard that we have only had the ability to cut such rock within the last 40 years.
Be that as it may the very size of these rocks and the cuts and groves make anyone question how these could have been done even today.

On that note I do firmly believe in God and his son Jesus Christ,
I have no question in my mind that both exist.
Thats my Faith and as you both have pointed out we live in a country that has the FREEDOM to believe and worship.
As well I do believe that the United States was founded on the Christian beliefs and no others, plus all the founders were quite religious and Christians.

Jack, That is NOT what we are saying. I don’t think you actually read our posts very closely or you would see, we are NOT trying to Leave God out of the country. We just believe you can’t force people to be controlled by any one religion (unlike some places in this world), especially under the banner of the USA. We stand for FREEDOM. If we did that, their heart would not be in it. Officially it is a LAW we cannot have an official religion. But that doesn’t mean most of us aren’t Christians. The real question is…I guess you’d rather have the Government doing all of that for you? Isn’t that easier to let others take care of you, rather then you taking care of yourself. It’s easier to attack others… when you don’t question or hold yourself accountability first. Do you want your Government to believe, think, learn, work, live, care, breath and die for you? Not possible.., that is your work to do.

Does the current President or majority ruling politician really unifying this country by their deeds of actions and virtues? Are you, yourself too busy attacking mere individuals like the Sarah Palin’s out there?
