Florida Doctor: Supporters Of Obama Should 'Seek Care Elsewhere'

April 8, 2010 by

Florida doctor: Supporters of Obama should 'seek care elsewhere'A Florida doctor who strongly condemns the recently passed healthcare reform bill is encouraging Obama supporters to seek medical care at another physician’s office. Dr. Jack Cassell, a Mount Dora urologist and registered Republican, posted a message on his office door late last week stating, "If you voted for Obama…seek urologic healthcare elsewhere."

Despite Representative Alan Grayson’s (D-Fla.) threats to file a formal ethics complaint against the urologist, Cassell is standing by his political statement, and is encouraging doctors around the country to take a stand against a piece of legislation that he thinks will adversely affect patient care.

"I got a little discouraged when I found that most of the ancillary services and nursing homes and diagnostic imaging, all these things start to fade away," he told Fox News.

Specifically, Cassell objects to the Medicare cuts in the current bill that will effectively put a stop to hospice services and end of life care.

"Not only do they want you to die at a younger age, but they want you to die a slow and painful death as well," he noted.

Cassell said he will not take the sign down despite mounting opposition from liberals around the country.

Johnstake; We should have tort reform and lawyers do gouge everyone. As long as patients aren’t forced to accept a lump sum payment for a botched surgery then I would agree with you. Many medical costs go on for years and that should be reflected in any tort reform.

  • eddie47d

S.C.; A Dr. who is dead and is still cashing checks must be a magician OR his staff is scamming the government and should be prosecuted. Florida is well known for it’s medicare scams.

    • JeffH

…or maybe the ones doing the scam aren’t related to the deceased Dr or staff and is just a proffessional scammer. Maybe the government should do a better job and cut the waste. I already know yor position on that one. Tax, then tax some more. We all have to make the “contribution” to cover the irresponsible government’s wastefull spending through increased taxes. When government grows, the tax money flows.

      • JeffH

Try pulling the blinders off and looking at the bigger picture here.

      • Mike In MI

JeffH – You know the thing that has always intrigued me about government’s inability to get to the bottom of the fraud barrel is that so much of it is artfully concealed and ignored. I know part of it is big time, highly connected clinics and professionals who have avenues of ingress to legislators.
I wonder how much of it is the bureaucrats who know how the billing system can be invaded for personnal enrichment? What is there to stop the government unions from skimming it for personnal gain and contributions to Obama. Then they could cover it with a cloak of officially enforced secrecy and refusal to open the books or respond to requests for information.

      • JeffH

Mike In MI, I often believe it might just be that government jobs don’t have performance requirements other than the: show up and shut up, afterall, it’s not your money type of mentality!

  • Sandy

My hat goes off to the Dr. Maybe more should do the same. Obama has force all this on us. You can only be pushed so far!

  • American

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning November 2008′s Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 McCain: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 McCain: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million

    McCain: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:

    Obama: 13.2 McCain: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…”

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

Tax payers know this take over of healthcare is going to kill us all quicker and unless you free loaders do the math and figure itout yours self you will find that no doctor will be taking care of you soon!

    • American Citizen

The saying is, “Be careful what you ask for, you just may get it.” Liberals and progressives don’t know what they are asking for or they just don’t care what the results will be.

  • Barbara

Sounds like the doctor is starting early. He is showing what is going to happen if this medical nightmare is implemented. We will be obligated to prove standards that will have nothing to do with our health needs.

    • Norm

      Barbara
Correction, It’s not if it’s when.

  • Joe C.

    To Bob Wire

You talk about the oath this doctor took. What about the oath these politicians took, to uphold and defend the Constitution. Seems to me they are ignoring everything about it.

    • JeffH

OOPS! So much for rational thought on the subject!

  • Raggs

Hats off to the doctor…… This is really going to get ugly when obama trys to push a VAT tax on us to pay for his marxist-care for the lazy.

  • http://bwmelton@atmc.net B Wayne Melton

I, for one, applaud the good doctor. I don’t believe health care is a right but a priviledge. If you are indigent or can’t afford health care because of a sound reason, by all means, let’s help you. If you are too lazy to work for a living, too bad!!If you are an illegal, go to your homeland and get health care. You have been allowed to bleed the system long enough!! Why should the citizens of our country have to pay large premiums for less care?!!! Keep up the good work, Doc.

After reading all the comments on this board I see that the liberals have learn nothing from history. Review your history and learn that everytime that a progressive liberal view has become the dominant political policy of a country, that country has been destroyed by nations bent on conquering the world. Germany tried to do the same with the European nations. The only thing that stood in their way was the non progressive people of this nation. The other were fighting against going to war. You may not have heard much about that movement during that war because it was so small and the majority of Americans did not subscribe to this view. But it has grown over the years thru infiltration of liberlism from European people migrating to the US. Then by Vietnam War it had become more prevalent and was televised more heavily. If it continues to grow in this country we will eventually be destroyed as well. There will be no one left to protect the world from people bent on world domination.

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.
    Abraham Lincoln

  • Marilyn

Dr. Cassell gets the “Atta Boy” award! More doctors should do the same. Very few doctors belong to the AMA so they had no input to the health care reform bill. I’m beginning to wonder how many medical professionals did have any input? Insurance companies are the culprits and need regulated. Insurance companies are the closest thing to Mafia tactics. So, what happens? All Americans come under Socialized Medicine that has proven NOT to work in other countries. Did anyone take notice who passed the health care bill and what goodies did each voter get to vote for the stupid bill? Almost like “stuffing the voting box” wouldn’t you say?

  • Is is November Yet

Good for the Doctor. Someone who has the cojones to stand up for what he believes in!!! Wish there were more like him!

  • Jack

I pray all the Doc.swill wake up

  • Charles Campbell

I support the doctor completly. He has a right to treat who he pleases.

He is very courageous. I applaud him. We need more good men like him.

    • Dennis

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you My Brother……..

  • 3rd worlder

Actually, the Doctor’s comment is just what Obama wants. Obama just doesn’t have the balls to admit it. Get used to rationing.

  • Brad Harrington
    • JeffH

Brad Harrington, what a great story, one that should be read by all in this matter. It exposes, once again, that Democrat Grayson is filled with hate and vitriol, not the first time nor will it be the last, for those that don’t tow the line to the left’s satisfaction. Watch the media on this, like everything else, they will ignore Dr. Cassel’s right to free speech and go into their corrupted attack mode.

  • Arlington Kennedy

Geeze people, can’t we all get along? That is without the 60 year old, wanting people to eat their nuts, idiot Liberals, come on….

    • JeffH

If I offended you, I apologize not only to you but those that I didn’t intend to offend. The rest of you nuts can, well, you know…

  • American Liberal

Someone above mentioned greed… I’ve got nothing aginst medical professionals and drug companys making a real profit but their does come a point where the profit gets excessive and then it’s greed…that’s when the need for caps come in… Some of you call that socialism.. I call it survival… The system will break down everytime when a free market turns into greed…some socialism is needed because some people and industrys are greedy and take more than a fair share…drug companys are huge offenders in greed…

    • johnstake

I see you didn’t mention Tort Reform. Some lawyers make 30-percent or more of their settlements, and they do not improve patient health.. I know a lot of doctors that would be happy with 10-percent, or even 5-percent. Why didn’t we get tort reform. That is a simple answer, the laws are written by lawyers and they are not about to take food out of their own mouths. The only purpose for lawyers is to protect citizens from other lawyers, especially those in government. No mans life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session. Obama Care proves that statement.

      • 3rd worlder

You’re right. No tort reform. No public option and no price negotiations for the drugs. The healthcare law is the SOS, except now we are requied by law to pay for it.

    • American Citizen

Most companies don’t make huge profits, 2 to 3 percent is the norm. If a company doesn’t make a profit, it goes under. They need money for new equipment, building maintenance, etc. Anybody who has never run a business, whether a farm, a zoo, a museum, a doctor practice, etc., just doesn’t understand. Small businesses are the backbone of this country. What is happening with this administration is scary. Nothing it is doing is helping the job market.

      • JeffH

AC, the liberals could care less about anything but securing a spot at the government trough. Businesses are run by capitalists and capitalists are their enemy.

      • Mike In MI

        JeffH -
I personnally like to think of it more in terms of the Host/parasite relationship. The parasites in Washington keep sucking more and more, constantly out of the private sector.

One of these days they’re going to suck that Percheron down to a chihuahua. Tell me, what happens to the parasite when it kills the host?

  • naturalist

Everyone should resist socialized medicine. We should also do our best politically by voting against politicians who favor big government. If we don’t, they will make Nikita Khruschev look like the sage prophet of our time. He said, “Your grandchildren will live under Communism.” Unfortunately, that is getting close to becoming true.

    • American Liberal

That’s nonsense… When a person needs medical he can’t resist medical care… Socialized or not… You need to understand that your paying for people that can’t pay their medical bills already… What you calling socialized medicine just acknowledges this and adjusts coverage… That’s a major reason medical care can bankrupt a family… The healthcare bill keeps that from happening…so you can claim to be aginst socialized medicine all you want but the fact is you’ve already been paying for uninsured people….people who get sick seek care…you can’t resist … The problem was that the 30 mlion uninsured people were going to emergency rooms to get treatment and the cost was huge.. Guess who’s been paying for that socialized medicine ?.. You.. This bill is a good step in the tight direction… Needs some tweaking but it will help

      • American Liberal

        Typo.. “Right direction”

      • Mike In MI

No, A.L., It was not a “typo” it was an accurate description of what is going to happen. It’s another step in the “tight” direction. If you think the situation we have now is constricted…just wait.

Big Government is like a 20 ft. boa constrictor. Once it gets what it wants it squeezes tighter and tighter until it quits resisting. Then, swallows it whole.

A government health system is not going to reduce the demand for services at all, or costs, or paperwork, or anything else you spoke of. It will reduce availability of care, quality of services, quality of providers, therapeutic choices, doctor discretion and applied art, scientific changes/innovation and ability of the system to quickly respond to immediate needs (like H1N1 flu) or alterations in the biosphere, ecosphere or technosphere. It will be a straight-jacket that feeds and maintains vested and entrenched interests that stifle evolving needs of society. It’s part of the bill and government corruption.

      • naturalist

You need to be corrected. The nonsense is that too many Americans don’t recognize that there are thieves who steal from them by using government. Anyone who advocates socialism is a thief, plain and simple. They are evil, plain and simple. Just because they hide behind the facade of government, there is no moral justification provided. If one person steals from you that is wrong. If fifteen people steal from you, that is still wrong. If millions of people steal from you, that is still no different. Are you evil?

      • Hollywood

Naturalist, you have to remember that back in the late 40′s when we were having problems with Communist Americans, they kinda went underground and did some re-thinking. Now they are Socialist and have for 50 plus years infiltrated our educational system (seeding). Now they are reaping what they have sewn. To argue with the adult Socialist is a waste of time, try educating the young first.

      • Robert Wayne

I fear it’s too late. The sleazeballs took over public education and the universities in the late ’60s and early ’70s and used it for their own long range left wing propaganda machine.

      • Mike In MI

        Robert Wayne -

Yes Sir, you have that A-1 100% right. Lots of our kids have been stultified and saturated in the dregs of the sewage plant settling pond ideotology of (RETRO-)progressivism that progresses to martial law or anarchy. Most people don’t know it – or care – that there have always been close ties between communists and anarchists. Neither one has a shred of ethics or morality. But they need to seem like they are to appear credible and attract followers. So, they inculcate and brainwash people with ideas and cliches culled from classical philosophy and theology. That imbues their adherents with a patina of “respectable” ideas (but, divorced from the reasoned and logical continuity that give classic disciplines their integrity). Progressives, therefore, have no integrity and we see on many of their posts here that they lack disciplined thinking, preferring instead to accost people with emotionalized anecdotal harangues, cliches divorced from original academic context, popular inflammatory media topics and practiced personnal destruction. All the elements of propaganda subsist on these pillars of liberal argumentativeness – not true argumentation or thoughtful discussion. (At least this type of venue disallows the normal, rude liberal ploy of “butt-in and shout-over”.)

A variation is what Obama did during the ’08 campaign with his “Yes We Can” and “Hope and Change” mantras. He, deceitfully, never said what he envisioned “we can” to be, or what, how or when. Likewise,
“hope” is usually a wonderful sentiment, as long as it is given some sort of definition – which he never made an attempt to do. “Change”? That is meaningless without putting some context to it as to what, when , why and how “Change” is to be brought about. No one I ever heard made him clear the misty bog with definitions. So, every listener and “O” voter put his own concept of what those three things should be. There must be some wild fantasies going round.

What I find really interesting is to go through the Gospel accounts to see how Jesus Christ’s adversaries lined up their attacks against him. The scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees (Liberals of their day) lined up their attacks in similar fashion. In John 8 Jesus said they were of their father, the devil. Like father like son? Why wouldn’t children of darkness do the same today? But, he beat them.

I think they can be beaten today, too, without going through what he endured…for us. Know what you’ve got in his name, and stand in the evil day.

The terrible thing is the greater percentage of voters were uncritical of and welcomed Obama’s lies, deceit, double-think, bribery, slander, disfunctionality, intimidation and corruption.

As you indicate, Bob. Much of modern education is a charade, a shiny b
brick and mortar edifice that is hollow, dark and putrid. Then, the stuff that slithers out of it goes to Washington, D.C.

      • Suzanne in Texas

        Dear American Liberal,

The problem with socialized medicine is two fold.
        1. We just don’t have the money to pay for it. Period.
        2. Socialized medicine draws down the quality of care for everyone in the system. Common procedures are extremely limited.

        Now, for this bill.
        1. It does NOTHING to address the cost of healthcare. All it does is increase the costs across the board which will cause more hardship.
        2. It cuts the funding for Medicare instead of Medicaid, so that the senior citizens who have paid into the scheme are being cut on their benefits.
        3. It allows the government to decide who gets what treatments and when. The statement that the government will not get between you and your doctor is a flat out lie!
        4. The bill is unconstitutional. It forces individuals to PURCHASE a specific product or face criminality.
        5. The bill is not deficit neutral as it has been touted. We (the people of United States) will be paying for this POS for 4 years before ANY benefits kick in.

As for the physician, not only is he a doctor but he is a businessman. While he is not flat refusing care, he does have a right to not see someone. He’s just asking them to pre-screen themselves.

      • http://naver samurai

In my hometown a lot of the people who don’t pay their bills are here illegally. Do you think we should pay for them? Sorry, not authorized by our Constitution. The people who can’t pay? I guarantee a good percentage could probably pay, but just choose not to do so. I had a friend who owed $25,000 in hospital bills and couldn’t afford to pay them, though he was working. There was an office he went to in the hospital that would help him out. The lady looked over his bill and ran it through the computer. Charities paid 50% of the bill! After that, he went to a credit agency and they worked with him and the hospital and set up a payment plan that was affordible for him. If more people would do these 2 things, we wouldn’t need this unconstitutional healthcare bill, which will be repealed in 2011!

      • JeffH

samurai, simply called: responsibility. Too many don’t and won’t do the same thing.

      • American Citizen

Too many people don’t know how or won’t work off a budget. I don’t know how they do it. The first thing I do every month is knowing how much money will be coming in (mostly SS) and the bills that are standard, i.e., insurance premiums, utilities, etc. and put them down on paper, dividing them up into two different sections. One section comes out of my SS check, the other out of my husband’s. That helps me decide which bill to pay when. The extra pays on credit card (we use only one), entertainment, gas for the car, grass mowing, etc. We usually have some extra some months and some months not. Particularly the ones in which car insurance and home owners insurance are due. We also contribute to charity as much as we are able. For these i put all extra money aside into one account and try to spend it judicially. We also try to save when we can. We don’t live high on the hog, had our home paid off years ago before we retired, and drive a 15 year old Chrysler which we baby. It serves us well as my husband is handicapped and can get in it easily. It can be done as we do all this on $25,000 a year.

Politics shouldn’t even enter into a Doctors office… I’d have my doubts about any doctor who had his mind on politics instead of treating a humanbeing… If it was reversed I’d feel the Sameway… I wouldn’t want a doctor that conciderd my ballot box vote in treating me… It could very well had said( if you voted for John McCain seek treatment elsewhere… I believe this violates his ethics to be a doctor…

    • johnstake

American Liberal says that politics shouldn’t enter into a doctors office! Just what does he think that OBAMA CARE does? It places government restraints on what doctors can do, and how they must treat their patients. When anyone negatively impacts the doctor patient relationship or reduces the services to patients with legislation doctors have a duty to inform their patients and the public. I think that his sign clearly states who is responsible for the damage done to the healthcare profession, uninformed voters who put unqualified and unethical persons in the White House and Congress. What is ethical about requiring citizens to fund programs that politicians choose to exempt themselves from? NOT MUCH!

      • Mike In MI

John, my man, that is absolute genius. And, it goes not only for health care but every other interaction between people. Liberalism is sand in the machinery of the Universe.

    • s c

Never let anyone accuse you of having lofty morals, AmLib. On the topic of a dictatorial government controlling the economy (via healthcare), I’d like your response on a topic that you just can’t get through your head. Are you aware that the government is so screwed-up that it pays bills submitted by MDs who are DEAD? It has much in common with ‘support’ from dead VOTERS [Chicago-style].
Overbilling is part and parcel of a system gone mad (compliments of Uncle Scam). You bitch about high drug prices, but the people who make sure prices will stay high are your ICONS. “In a world where politics doesn’t enter the doctor’s office” – give us a break AmLib. You and your ‘peers’ have been hiding behind Mary Poppins’ skirts so long that you don’t have any sense of right and wrong.
You live in an enforced world of fantasy and anything that ‘feels good.’ I wouldn’t trust you or your icons to flush a toilet (and do it right), let alone run America’s healthcare.
The day you’re on speaking terms with common sense is the day I’ll believe you give a damn about anyone other than yourself and your schizoid chums.
You’ve found too many ways to be mind-numbed useful idiots, and you can’t understand how or why anyone refuses to be like you. Enjoy your bliss. True ‘enlightenment’ is going to be world-shaking for you and all of your your dumbed-down chump pals.

    • Robert Wayne

You liberals get more and more insane every day. You talk about how politics shouldn’t be in a doctor’s office, but YOUR president, comrade Odumbo and his pals like Pelosi and Reid put politics in the medical field when they started really harping on this healthcare scam, which by the way is nothing but another way for them to steal more of the ordinary American taxpayer’s hard earned money!!!! Wake up and smell the coffee libtard.

    • zack

You have to look over American liberal. He thinks a doctors office is a place of worship. You see he is a little off. He can’t remember from one time to the next to take a VIAGRA or A BIRTH control pill. I don’t think he quite understands the difference between a man, and a woman. I am sure he would vote for Ms.Palin, because he is always talking about her.

  • s c

The MD is right. Obummer is wrong (as usual). The retard in Florida sounds he’s stumping for votes to go to Washington. Once again, the loonies are scratching their empty heads that anyone can find a reason to complain when America is being forced to look down the twin barrels of a bastardized ‘healthcare’ system. Wrong is wrong is WRONG, schtuppers.
Obummer expects everyone to follow behind him like
lap dogs. Americans are NOT followers of those who are NOT fit to govern.
The MD was very polite. He didn’t use any bad language, and his assessment of the situation is exact. Obummer has some screws loose if he thinks every half-baked piece of UNREAD, UNFATHOMED legislation that gets passed has been handed down by the gods. Obummer and his mental giants (apparently) didn’t know that convicted sex offenders would have access to viagra [what GENIUS]. If they didn’t know that, then a) they don’t care or b) they’re so damned stupid that they think nothing truly bad can be in that damnable healthcare insanity. I’m betting on ‘b.’ Kindly remember that Haavid isn’t what it used to be. Congress isn’t even close to what it should be, and the current denizens of the White House never knew the difference between winners and losers.
At the heart of Obummer’s healthcare scam is a diabolical plan to drive caring MDs out of the profession, and make matters even worse. Mental giants, my aching asterisk!

    • JeffH

What I have seen of Grayson is that he has come across as nothing more than a big mouth bully. I also remember his references about a female lobbyist being a “whore”. Maybe he is a good guy with an obviously big mouth and the discretions of a Democrat.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        JeffH,
I agree with your statement!! Look back a few months at Brown. Everybody thought he was the best thing since sliced bread and all he was was another RINO!!!!

    • eyeswideopen

s c, you are aware that 83 yr old men are presently approved to get penil implants aren’t you? Does that seem like a good way to spend money? Yep, the men who have always controlled congress voted for that wonderful little procedure. We should kick all of the men out and for a change have this country be run by women. Most of us control the household budgets, work, take care of kids and keep the households running. We mediate fights, and teach our kids how to comprise on issues so that everyone feels like they haven’t lost, because you can’t always get things your own way. Why not use our skills and kick out the old senators who can’t play well together? Women would revise the tax code, judicial system, education system, healthcare, energy and finally get paid what the men do. LMAO and no, this wasn’t an ad for Palin or that nut she is presently hanging out with. Forgive me I am just venting like you did.

      • Michael J.

        EWO,
So not only do you advocate, “We should kick all of the men out and for a change have this country be run by women.” But you are also saying that these women should be progressive liberal females?
A sexist and politicaly biased comment all wrapped up in one. How sad for you.

      • Mike In MI

        Oh, EWO -
Now that really sounds like a great way to teach kids the difference between right and wrong – compromise on everything so no one gets their feelings hurt. Don’t listen to them to see what the dispute is about or determine the issues. Don’t have a standard of right or wrong. Don’t dispense a just solution or establish just instructions for the future. Where there is no justice you will have chaos erupt at some point.

      • eyeswideopen

Mike, you are not reading or understanding what I said. As ususal as you have a closed mind. You teach children that they can’t always get or have what they want. Life is nothing but comprises and learning to distinguish between wants and needs is a valuable lesson. The entitlement attitude of the younger generation was generated by parents who wanted to be friends with their children and never said no to any of their desires for fear of not having them like them. When children never have to work for results or learn how to comprise they become those who you conservatives hold in such distain. The generation who thinks they are due something. Must be a lot of parents out there like you, who gave your kids everything expecting nothing in return, and now your kids expect to have the income right out of college that most of us took 10-15 years to achieve. ” You betcha”, I think women in general could do a better job at running this country than the present men in control. Who are you more afraid of women or the minorities getting control?? lol.

      • obiwan

        EWS,
I forwarded your comments to Sarah Palin. She’s comming to “getcha,
you betcha.” When all the good doctors quit an unprofitable business,
you can “betcha” life on the mediocre ones.

      • Mike In MI

        Dear EWO,

There isn’t enough room on this computer to tell you how proud I am of my three kids. One of the first words they learned was,”NO!” and then the phrase, “You ought to think about that. What will happen if you do that?” Two of them worked their way through college – without loans or debt at the end. They have moved ahead and their supervisors fight to keep them in their departments. Yes, they all have jobs, even the one who is still going to college. None of them came home pregnant or with VD or addictions. All were voted captains of high school teams they participated on – none were super athletes (just admired for other qualities). Quit, Mike; I wasn’t going to go on so.

Hell, why do I bother telling you this stuff?

      • JeffH

Mike, anything you reveal to this quack is a mistake. She’ll try and try to find a way to corrupt it and then share the info with here little slug like companions.

      • cr747

        eyeswideopen,,
Give us a break..Where do you come up with all this non-sense,,and anger.. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Claire

Mike in MI — You stated that you are very proud of your kids and then you said “Why do I bother telling you this stuff?” I want you to know that I respect you for what you have said about your kids. In a lot of instances kids are a reflection their parents. You obviously were/are a good parent.

      • Mike In MI

        Dear Claire,
Thanks. I humbly and gratefully acknowledge your kind words – especially, coming from a source I’m learning have reason to admire.

        Bless your heart, my dear.

      • Claire

Mike in MI— I believe good parents are the backbone of the youth of yesterday, today, and the future. Parents are the teachers from infancy until they start school. And then it can become tricky because they learn from other sources and sometimes these sources are not good. Parents have to remain vigilent during the entire growing-up phase. It can be a tough job and parents must never give up, they have to try to do the best they can.

      • JeffH

Mike, this is the same EWO that is teaching her niece to be a socialist. She often braggs how she turns her niece onto this site just to laugh at the stupid conservative Republican right wingers. Talk about indoctinating and influencing a child.

      • Mike In MI

Hey, JeffH, Thanks for the heads up on EWO’s niece. It’s good she brings her here. You never know what might happen. The brain of genetically complete people is built to hold reason and truth. These ideas have a way of taking root, springing up and bringing good stuff to fruition. If she reads her Auntie’s life, compares, considers and, then, draws conclusions…who knows?

      • JeffH

One can only hope for the good.

      • del

That would be great idea if woman as a whole were capable of rational thought rather than making blind and emotionally motivated decisions. More than likely the reason for Obummer getting into office in the first place.

      • eyeswideopen

del, you are exactly what the republican/conservative men are all about.
That is why the dems don’t ever have to worry about Palin or any other female getting to be President. You are all backwards and I bet you have a wife who works, and you still don’t give her credit for her contributions. Eventually you old chauvinstic men will die off and women will finally get their freedom and equality.

      • JeffH

”and you are a prime example of what del was talking about…You give women a bad reputation.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        del,
I disagree and not that I’m agreeing with the myopic witch either. My wife is an international manager and is damn good at what she does. she voted against Obummer, too. she was against him from the start, just like me!!! She has done this for 27 years and will soon retire from it!! I’m damn proud of her ethic and determination!!

      • Robert Wayne

It depends on who the woman is. I’d vote for Palin in a second. As for that witch Pelosi, the only thing I’d give her is a new broom to fly the hell out of this country.

      • JeffH

I’ll supply the fuel, a big plate of red beans and rice…and away she goes…

      • zack

eyes, I see you have loosened up a little bit. So there is hope for a female President. One that would make obama look like the sissy he is. Then vote Palin, an educated, God fearing, female with a whole lot more sense than anyone in Washington, including the looser obama. Now remember I am a democrat to, but I was smart enough not to vote for the looser Obama. I knew he was lying the first time I saw him speak.

      • eyeswideopen

Zack, sorry, can’t vote for a women whose husband belonged to the radical political party, AIP, took 6 years and five schools to graduate, quit during her term of office, drug her kids around the election circuit for 3 months, doesn’t even know that the VP doesn’t write legislation, whose grandson is on socialized government healthcare and constantly opens her mouth about things she has no concept about. She doesn’t pass any test except she is pretty.

      • JeffH

Nobody is listening to your lying rampage. On welfare? Get me the link, linkless and put down the proof. Your wild imagination and lying reputation doesn’t qualify as the truth.

      • coal miner

        Eyes,

I am listening. You always speaks the truth.Sarah Palin is a joke, wait till here looks changes.

      • zack

coal miner, you need to learn how to spell if you are going to comment on here. Have to inform you that after Obama signed the no nuclear treaty, Sarah Palin’s approval rating has increased dramatically.. Obamas is dropping fast.

      • cr747

        JeffH,,
Can you believe this,,first she was talking about women taking over the Whitehouse,,and then she comes off the wall,,”"can’t vote for a woman,,”" which she misspelled,,and then coal miner says he believes everything she says,,and misspells every other word..Do you think maybe these two dropped out of school at maybe the sixth or seventh grade..Maybe they got kicked out,,and they are still angry at the school that kicked them out..You said it right back earlier,,not very much smarts in these two..Lack of a good education here..

Cheer up you two,,you are making life rough on yourself by stating one thing,,and then going down the line,,and saying something completely different!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Mike In MI

        AmLib -
It so happens this issue was one that came up for real. The law as written was going to give Viagra to child molesters and needed to be changed. But, rest assured, this is just the sort of liberal madness that will be found to be a major part of this bill.

It’s what happens when bills are not discussed, debated, resolved and passed with open and honest commentary from everyone who will be affected by it. This madness is just the first of many disgraces that will show the kind of wisdom available to liberals.

We cannot afford to pay for everyone’s medical insurance…what is next…are we all going to have to chip in for people without work?
Oh wait a min. we already do that sorry…it is the moro in me…woops…please send the politians home on next election…

Cuts to Medicare? Are we absolutely sure about this? My Blue Cross Blue Shield supplement was raised. I have never used it. I have had no surgeries of any kind, and the cost still increases. I have a feeling things are getting worse and worse.

    • JeffH

This is just the tip of the iceberg. I “heard” yesterday that the nations insurance companies swithboards are inundated with callers asking when they can get their “free” health care. Little do they know that their “free” health care isn’t “free”, they’ll have to start paying for it now but won’t recieve the “free” health care for 4 years. Those that can’t afford health care will be put on Medicaid.

    • cr747

Hello Claire,,Jeff H,,and the rest of you honest people,,
I took two weeks off,,and spent time with my family,,and some friends..We flew to the ranch and spent four days and three nights out away from phones,,traffic,,and the bright lights..Loaded up the wagons,,saddled our horses,,and spent the time away on the ranch..It felt so good to rough it for a while..

Yes,,things are going to get a little bit out of the ordinary very shortly..The Democrats are finally reading what they voted on,,and are having second thoughts..I knew this was going to happen,,but you can not tell someone who at the same time their palm is being padded..It is with shame that what we have in Washington is so greedy,,and believing that they would vote on something with only Pelosi,,Reid,,and Obamas assurance that they where doing the American people a great favor..

I kept telling some that they where doing the wrong thing,,but as I have always said,,”"money talks,,and bull—-walks..”"

As the song goes back in the sixties or seventies,,WHOSE SORRY NOW??

Hope God Has Blessed all of you..You are in my prayers..
      God Bless,,and God Bless America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s all eyeswideopen knows is being pissed off..It does not bother me to the least..She probably would holler if we agreed with her..Can’t be satisfied..Sure would hate to have to live with something like that..Hell I wouldn’t even want to live on the same block!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Asthe lady Claire said the other day(quite tongue in cheek,I’m sure)” better to be pi..ed off than pi..ed on!” Poor googleeyes!!!

      • cr747

        Joe H,,
Good quote there,,that is probably eyeswideopens problem..She has been pi–ed on,,and now she is pi–ed off..Have to overlook someone like that..They have to be living a miserable life knowing they have no friends,,so they show it with temper-tantrums..coal miner lives in the same world..He has to be miserable to with the way he comments on here..He thinks he can scare someone off line by bad mouthing them..Childish,,that’s all it is.. The old saying sticks and stones may break my bones,,but words will never harm me..I look over people of their caliber..It does not bother me at all..I kinda think it is funny for them to show everyone how childish they are..Everyone gets a big laugh out of it any way..

If they had to take the remarks,,and “yes cursing” that I had to take while in flight training,,they would have called mommy to come and get them..They for sure couldn’t have took it..Made me a much stronger,,and better person,,and I learned to respect my seniors,,and instructors..Also learned to take it without getting upset about it..Just like now,,it does not bother me at all what someone says or believes..That is their prerogative,,they have the right to doubt,,but only to make fools out of themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Claire

Jeff H — LOL I have to laugh at your comment–”or somebody stepped on its tail and really pi—- it off.” I remember one time I was looking for mushrooms, stepped on the tail of a hog-nosed snake and it sure raised up and struck at me. It was scary as heck. I must have really pi—- it off. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. My heart was almost beating out of my chest. Have you ever seen a hog-nosed snake? Terrible looking head on them.

      • JeffH

Funny but I bet it wasn’t too funny at the time. I don’t think we have hog nosed snakes in California. We have gopher snakes that look similar to a rattlesnake and their defense mechanism is to coil up and wiggle their tail like a rattler. I’ve run from them before I could recognize what they were.

      • JeffH

        Hi Claire,,
Want to tell you what a sweetheart I thank you are..You are so good with your comments,,and I know it is hard for you at times,,and yes a lot more of you on here also..

You know,,life is to precious,,and to short for the way some on here show their,,”should I say ignorance,,”or do they just don’t know any better way to blow off their anger that has built up all through the week with,,maybe family,,friends,,or work..I can’t live like that..As I have told a lot of young people with anger problems,,seek help now,,and one way to do that is join a branch of service,,and they will remove that anger from you..ONE WAY OR THE OTHER..The other is not good.. God Bless all Of You,,and God Bless America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Claire

cr747 — Yes indeed, life is too precious to even waste one moment!!
I agree with you about kids entering the military, it does teach them self-control. My son joined the Air Force after high school. I remember very clearly the first time he came home on leave. He had changed so much. He was so “grown up” that I wept. I wept because he was no longer a “little boy.” I wept with happiness because he had grown to be a fine young adult. He became a young man that I was and still am very proud of. He was in it for 4 years and ended up in the Air Guard for 12 years. During this time he went to college and excelled in ALL mathematics and received his degree in engineering. He has worked for IDOT for many years now and the blueprints he draws are mindboggling. If anyone drives on I55 and its tributaries, think of my son!! But if there are any potholes, it is up to the state of Illinois to maintain the roads!! He just designs them. The military is good for young boys. I would recommend the miltary for every young boy.

      • zack

        Claire,,
God Bless your Son for his service..It’s great to here a great story like that..I do know it is hard to realize how they mature in such a short time..

Proud for him becoming an Engineer for Illinois Dept..Of Trans..Sounds like he has a great career ahead for Him..
        God Bless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • cr747

Claire, I know you are proud of your son for serving..It does make them grow into an adult fast..I remember when I came home from boot camp my Mom couldn’t believe the change that I had made..She was so proud that she called all the family in for a cookout..We had a blast,,but the hard work was yet to start..Flight training..I had been flying since I was 13 years old at our local small time airport,,and it was such fun that I knew that was what I wanted in life!!!!!!!!!

      • Claire

cr747– I do have to admit that shortly after he graduated from high school, he came home one day and told me and my husband that he had enlisted in the Air Force. I almost had a stroke. I did not want him to go!! But my husband accepted it. He did not have any problems with Tim enlisting. Then on the day he left and we had to take him to the airport (where the 183rd is located) I was so worried. He had never been away from home like that, and I just couldn’t imagine him leaving for such a long time! It was all I could do to keep from crying when we said our goodbyes. But I sure did squall in the car going home! It was hard to let go. What memories.

      • Claire

cr747 — God bless you and yours.

    The Hippocratic Oath (Modern Version)[10]
“ I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:

I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow.

I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures [that] are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.

I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon’s knife or the chemist’s drug.

I will not be ashamed to say “I know not,” nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient’s recovery.

I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.

I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person’s family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick.

I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.

I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.

If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.

So maybe he should have been a plumber?

    • Claire

Don’t mention the word “plumber” to me. I had to have a plumber this past week. They charged $ 123.00 an hour for labor, and it was during working hours. I couldn’t believe it. And all the trouble was under the kitchen sink. No wonder the world is in such a mess. I call it GREED. I should have been a plumber.

      • Jimmy G

You should have fixed your plumbing yourself, kept track of your time and see what you would have saved per hour.

      • Claire

Jimmy G — You darn right I’ll fix things myself from now on. I am capable of fixing a lot of things.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Claire,
your plumber was probably a DR. before he was a plumber!!!!

      • Claire

Joe H — You may be right about that. LOL

      • Mike In MI

Claire, ??? Why, if it’s “GREED” for the plumber to charge you $123.00 per hour and you’re mad about it, would you say, “Maybe I should have been a plumber”? You didn’t want to dig around in that nasty trap or you didn’t have the knowledge to do it. Sort of like a Urology Clinic, isn’t it? If you’re unwise enough to let your sewer system get backed up you may have to pay what the man wants for his time…and skills, and tools…and truck…and helpers…and replacements…and taxes…and insurances…and – and – and.

And Obama is making all of that about twenty times bigger for all of us because his bill will come too.

      • Claire

Mike in Mi — I had a leak below the kitchen sink, they came and “fixed” it. An hour later I checked and it was spraying water. I called, they came back and said I needed a new valve. My sewer wasn’t “backed up.” I am grousing about it since they should have fixed it correctly in the beginning. Especially since they charge the way they do. Greed??!! I believe greed is the cause of most of America’s problems.

      • Mike In MI

Oh, um, OK – sorry. I take it back. You had a right to be real torqued off. I would have been, too. That’s part of why I got appropriate tools, some household repairs books, supplies and the attitude, “If a human being dreamed it up and put it together, I can probably take most things apart, fix ‘em and put ‘em back together. Maybe not as fast, but man it’s a lot more satisfying.”

      • JeffH

Mike, Claire is a wonderful person and very neutral minded. A great participant. Oh, she also raises shorthaired pointers which are an important part of her family and her life.

      • Claire

Jeff H — Bless your heart. You know the way to my heart! Speaking of the dogs, I am checking into a web site/Facebook. I will let you know on this.

      • JeffH

I hope you know I’d just love to meet the family, oh, and you and your hubby too. lol!

      • eyeswideopen

Claire, it is the “free market” at work. Plumbers get paid what the market will bare.

  • Bob Wire

Moron? “”Moron” was coined in 1910 by psychologist Henry H. Goddard[3] from the Ancient Greek word μωρός (moros), which meant “dull” (as opposed to “sharp”), and used to describe a person with a mental age in adulthood of between 8 and 12 on the Binet scale.[4] It was once applied to people with an IQ of 51-70, being superior in one degree to “imbecile” (IQ of 26-50) and superior in two degrees to “idiot” (IQ of 0-25). The word moron, along with others including “retarded”, “idiotic”, “imbecilic”, “stupid”, and “feeble-minded”, was formerly considered a valid descriptor in the psychological community, but it is now deprecated by psychologists.[5]

The note on the door read , “, “If you voted for Obama…seek urologic healthcare elsewhere.” That pretty clear to me that this man has little interest in health care

So who is calling who a moron?

let see ~ you had another laps of being able to articulate yourself and resorted to “name calling” Quote;”Your comment shows, again, that you are just a complete idiot.”

Jeff do you think you might make the effort to control your strong desire to assign people labels you don’t agree and keep the conversation above a 3th grade level?

If you are luck enough to reach maturity you learn to control your tongue. It not wise to speak everything you think.

This Doctor has the same problem you do ~ if both of you ran the world it wouldn’t be worth spit. Even you ~ would find it a most unpleasant place to live.

    • JeffH

Bob Wire, did you happen to see the doctor’ interview? If you did, then you would have realized that he said if someone came through the door seeking his services, he would not turn them away because he has taken the hippocratic oath.

I really don’t give a flip what you have say about anything. I call it as I see it, right, wrong or indifferant and your opinion is just that, your opinion.

So what; I wear a hat thats says BITE ME, if some one was stupid enough to bite me – I would make that their last act ever.
As thats a clear case of “assault with a deadly weapon”,
Or the – Vampire tooth syndrone. LOL…….

      • Hugh Jordin

The doctor should become a cosmetic proctologist and take you on as a patient. Perhaps he can make even a narrow minded, hate filled anus like you look good.

      • JeffH

Now now Hughly, no hate in these bones. You sure got a fetish about the anus. Try removing your head from yours, you might just get a look at the real world.

      • Hugh Jordin

        You need a plexiotomy-

That new procedure involving implanting a plexiglas window in the abdomen, so people whose heads are crammed in their colons can see.

      • JeffH

…as I said before, a fetish or fixation on your part.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        JeffH,
I wonder if the kind Dr. can come up with a cure for libbers. They are sure making me get pizzed off!!! I mean, he IS a urologist!!!

      • JeffH

Yeah, I think they are called “libber” pills and you can buy them over the counter. Guarnteed or your money back…

    • http://Thefactis,,, Connie

The doctor is continuing to see patients as usual. He is not breaking his Hypocratic oath, he is making a statment. Nor is he placing a hardship on the community since there are other urologists in the town. Since when are we not permitted to say what we believe? I notice that Grayson allows himself that privilage!

      • marypat

I admire this Doc Cassell’s courage and knowledge to voice his concerns about the crazy healthcare plan coming down on all of us. He’s right to encourage other docs to educate their patients on some huge fundamantal changes in healthcare. I want to mention to those who are not so savy about healthcare ,please google urologist and find out what type of Doctors they are. He doesn’t care for those in emengent situations. I don’t recommend a trip to his office for any emergency as they will call an amulance and have you shipped to the nearest ER. Good luck navigationg the healthcare system after this, because I have a feeling specialist like him will be far and few between and we’ll more than likely see diseases that were prevalent in the 50′s rearing their ugly heads. It will be up to you to google symptoms and diagnose yourself, until you are able to get an appointment with the helper of the Primary Docs.

      • Mary T. Del Buono

Sad days are here…now we will not only pay extra for this medical service??? oh…dear me….what ever it is going to be now…paper paper everywhere and not a stethiscope anywhere…
Now our prez wants us to pay for more taxes…a fed. purchase tax…on top of our state taxes … woowooo…happy days are here again…oh well…signing out here…God Help us…God Bless our former America

  • JeffH

This is another great story and once again the “SS thug” mentality of Grayson is exposed again and again and again. This guy make Rahm Emanuel seem like a choir boy. They must really love his Chicago Mafia mentality in Florida.

Cassell said he will not take the sign down despite mounting opposition from liberals around the country. He also said he is sworn by the Hippocratic Oath to not turn patients away. He also said if they read the sign and turn away, that is their choice, not his and so be it.

    • eyeswideopen

This Dr. has an implied contract with those that he is or has been treating. Putting up that sign and denying a continuance of care, has now put his rear end in deep trouble. If anyone dies, due to not being able to get into a new Doctor right away, that man is liable and will be sued. Maybe the Mount Dora police if called to his house will ask him who he voted for prior to helping him, walking away if they don’t like his answer. Leaving him in the same kind of lurch that he has left his patients in. Now we see the real integrity and ethics of the radical right.

      • JeffH

Your comment shows, again, that you are just a complete idiot. He has turned no one away and has said as much. I watched the interview with him. If they choose to not enter his office and seek his care, that is on them, not him. GEEZ, always try to lie about things. Where did you get your law degree?
Tell me what your opinion is of Grayson? That, I’s like to hear! MORON!

Jeff, the sign says, “If you voted for Obama, seek urologic healthcare elsewhere”. He didn’t say if you are under my care, I will continue treating you until you can find a doctor. My Neighbor is attorney. He is laughing his rear off, as this guys is going to pay big time and he shouldn’t be practicing medicine. Doctors aren’t supposed to see color, race, religion, sex. He isn’t a doctor, he is a politician. But you and the conservatives can claim him, and pray you don’t ever make him mad, think if you were under the knife and he didn’t like the books you read!!!! Scary. LMAO.

      • JeffH

You obviously never saw his interview, I did! You’re an idiot. I won’t try to explain it to you because you obviosly have a learning disorder. As for your “lawyer neighbor”, I believe you lied again and don’t have one. Until he refuses care to someone that voted for O’idiot, patient or not, he hasn’t violated any laws. You’re such a mental midget!

      • Chuck

Color… Nope not based on color

Race….. Nope not based on race

Religion… Not based on Religion. Unless Obama worship is a religion.

        Sex… Not based on sex.

See – the problem is that he has done nothing wrong. The simple fact that there are trial lawyers lining up and wanting to put someone up to suing him is evidence of just how absurd our system is, and shows how the liberal elites try to influence our country.

cr747, what are you still doing on this site?? They didn’t pick you up for revealing classified information about the WMD’s that you supposedly flew out of Iraq to Canada?? How old are you? Who should be at the controls during the critical phase of a flight? Since you came on this site bragging that you flew WMD’s out of Iraq, I have shown all the Vet’s I know your statement and they laughed out loud about the “Wanna Bee” military pilot. First thing out of their mouths was that no military pilot would be stupid enough to ever give any information out about his mission, especially on an internet site which is monitored. So, dude, I am calling you on your lie. You are not a pilot and you did not transport WMD’s from Iraq to Canada.
YOU ARE A LIAR!!! You and Berbroini the fake Ph.D should hook up and start a business together. LMAO!!! Vet’s who have had classified missions never devulge information about them at all, until the government declassifies them. We are still at war, so your bragging did you in with your stupid statement.

You say he is not a doctor but a politician by putting up a sign which is granted by our 1st amendment in our constitution. However, I see nothing in our constitution giving our politicians the right to practice or dictate medicine. It seems to me you have it backwards, this doctor is not playing politician it is our politicians playing doctor and trying to control our doctors and our lives when it comes to healthcare. And as far as the doctor being in trouble I honestly believe when elections are here again you will see that it is the current politicians that are in trouble. I live in Brevard and if I need urology care I will travel to this doctor to show him my support

      • Flynn

What is the problem here? The good doctor has a right to treat whomever he pleases, just as the patient has a right to seek out any doctor he chooses, the current unconstitutional health care law notwithstanding.

      • Michelle

Great comment and right on! He hasn’t refused anyone treatment and anyone who reads the sign and decides on their own not to seek his treatment is making their own decision. He’s not asking when they come in to the office if they voted for Obama, so he isn’t refusing care. Doctors can turn away patients because they don’t accept Medicare or Medicaid patients and that’s okay. Aren’t they doing exactly what you are accusing Dr. Cassell of?

      • JeffH

Michelle, being rational isn’t an alternative to the naysayers. It’s just way to simple for their advanced minds.

      • Claire

Michelle– You are correct when you say some doctors will not take patients on Medicare/Medicaid. As far as this doctor refusing to see Obama supporters, that is his perogative. Heck, if I were a doctor, there would probably be some people I wouldn’t want to have as patients. For example, criminals.

This doctor didn’t even have enough class to discharge a patient correctly…You people who don’t like any laws or regulations, this doctor is the reason we have to have them. Medical Professionalism defination is as follows: “requires that doctors adhere to certain principled responsibilities, chief amoung them, the primary of patient welfare and the SUBORDINATION OF SELF INTEREST” That means politics should never come into play.
A doctor must notify a patient and transfer care to another acceptable doctor if planning to withdraw care. The doctor may be charged with negligent abandonment for ending the relationship with a patient without appropriate referral, transfer or discharge. This doctor should get out of the profession.

My prayers and thoughts are with the families of the coal miners. Tragic situation. The company should have put the safety of their employees first. From what I hear, the company thought it was cheaper to pay the fines rather than protect their workers. If this is indeed true, then this company is lower than a snake.

      • coal miner

        Claire,

Thank you, for the compasion you showed for those unfortunate coal miners. When I retired, mines were safe and a good place to work. All of them were unionized.I hope their deaths aren’t in vain. What I am seeing now, is Perry County all over again. This was not only a total disregard for human life, but cold blooded murder as well. There were 450 violations and some on this blog said it wasn’t the scab mine owners’ fault. The miners should have known better. They knowed it was unsafe, when they started to work there.Lets bring back the unions and make mines safe, and in factories as well.

      • Claire

coal miner — Union or no union. The safety of the coal miners are first and foremost. The owners of this company should be held accountable. If I had anything to do with it, they would be in a heck of a lot of trouble. I would be going “after” them. I would make sure they could never pull this stunt again.

      • Claire

coal miner – You said the miners should have known better. The coal miners no doubt NEEDED their jobs. They had to make a living and sometimes a person does what they feel they have to do in life. And perhaps this is the only line of work that they know or want to do. It is still negligence on the part of the company.

      • David Long

Don’t Doctors take an oath to “do no harm”? Interesting irony. this Doctor “claims” that people will receive less care because of the health care reform, and he goes out (with his sign and policy) reducing health care for people. It is indeed unethical!

      • Mike In MI

        Hey, JeffH -

You’ve got to take into account the basis of the problem faced by EWO and other liberals. She’s right that doctors are ethically bound to take patients and not refuse care on the basis of “race, religion, color or sex”. The law doesn’t say anything about being “liberal” and they see themselves as a breed apart. I suspect there may be some legitimacy to this being a concern. They obviously don’t see themselves being bound by the normal rules and relationships that govern ordinary mortals on thei earth – just look at the programs Congress is trying to enact under their domination. They’ll never work under the rules and principles set up by God for region of the space time continuum we live in.
Besides, studies have been conducted to find out where the highest fequencies of various diseases are in the nation. Once that was done somebody got the crazy idea to super impose a grid based on political demographics. Guess whose political leanings coincided with the highest disease rates. Democrats and LIBERAL voting areas won hands down. Mental disorders of various sorts were in very high correspondence.

Now, anybody who knows the Bibe could have told you that in a heartbeat. Just on the basis of God’s Word it’s predictable. Why? It’s only logic. Well, in II Timoth 1:7 it says, “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but, of power and of love and of a sound mind.” I never yet met a lib who believes the Word. They may believe “in” God, but that’s a far cry from “believing” God. So, they don’t have that spirit. Ergo, they can’t have the sound mind that is supposed to go with that spirit. So, since a sound mind is a sane mind they must be what?

Insane. See… even God thinks they’re nuts!!!! He’s just too nice to say it in an unkind way.

      • Mike In MI

        I forgot:

It is a literal Truth, documented by the Word of God(several places):

Liberalism is a Mental Disease. Rampant unsound minded insanity.

      • TIME

Mike, All valid points, I have always liked the statment, (That if it were not for double standards they would have no standards at all.)

      • coal miner

        Claire,

I didn’t say the coal miner should have known better, reread my statement,I am quoting what some insensitive bloggers said.Withnout a union it would be virtually impossible to keep mines safe.Prevention comes first, once it happens you can’t cure the accident. With govenmental budget cuts there are far too few federal mine inspectors, making it very difficult to inspect all the mines. They usually come once a year and enough hush money, they do spots checks and move on.Some don’t even bother going inside of the mines.Factories and coal mines need unions, without them you got violations of safety and rights. Both go hand and hand.

      • JeffH

With govenmental budget cuts? Now that would be a new innovation for government.

      • CharlesD

The Doctor is not putting anyone in risk. You always have the choice to go to another doctor. The only thing putting people at risk is the so called health care bill now law. I don’t have health insurance and I have never been denied health care. I think the doctor is correct in his statements on the HC that was forced upon us. I have fired doctors because I didn’t think they were doing the right thing. So why can’t a doctor tell some patients, “it might be better for you to go someplace else”.

      • del

“Maybe the Mount Dora police if called to his house will ask him who he voted for prior to helping him, walking away if they don’t like his answer.” Once again you write from your rear end instead of your head. He could have just closed his practice. It’s called freedom of choice. He’s letting people know how he feels about Obamacare. Notice, he menrioned the ‘death panels” in so many words. Not directly the words, but the meaning.

Another left wing scumbag hypocrite. They were all yelling and screaming about how happy they were when they thought Rush Limbaugh’s health was life threatening awhile back. Now they’re ready to lynch that doctor because he has every right in the world to pick his patients. And if I were a doctor I wouldn’t want to treat any of the morons who voted for or support that communist crook Obama either!!!

      • LAConfidential

eyeswideopen – your lawyer neighbor doesn’t know diddly about the medical community. Doctors have a right to FIRE patients. That’s right – discontinue care to them at will for whatever reason they see fit. If you’re a whack-a-doo, and the doctor doesn’t want to deal with you, he will refer you to another physician. The Hypocratic Oath does not mandate that ONE specific doctor provide care to ONE specific patient. It merely relates that a medical practitioner should give the best possible care to his/her patient while that patient is still breathing. That’s not to say that better care cannot be provided by a DIFFERENT physician and this will be difficult to prove; especially if not in a life-or-death situation. You see – unlike YOU – this doctor read the portions of the health care bill that will affect him and his practice and he is using his FIRST amendment right to protest this garbage legislation as it will PROHIBIT him to providing the best possible care to his patients, which in following the provisions of the new bill will actually countermand his Hypocratic Oath.

I suspect that you are the one without a job. Some poll just stated that majority of Tea Partiers are unemployed and that is why they are so angry and acting radical. You must be a tea partier? I am sorry you aren’t employed, but a republican senator is stopping your unemployment checks not me.

    • Claire

JeffH–My friend in Florida really likes Grayson, and she is a Republican. She says he says what he thinks and does not beat around the bush. (No pun intended.) I have heard him a few times, I do believe he would go after Obama too if he doesn’t agree with him. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

      • eyeswideopen

Claire, alot of the Repubs in Fl like him, as he calls a spade a spade and didn’t take any lobbyist money to get elected. He used his own money, so he doesn’t owe anybody anything as far as favors go. He returns your calls and letters, and actually thinks that he represents the people. He is a multimillionaire, and felt that he should give back to the state that he made his riches off of. Some of my family live in Orlando, and even tho they are repubs they voted for him.

      • s c

Orbs closed, by your own choice you make the same mistakes most ultraliberal progressives make when they dare to open their mouth(s). That is, there is a big difference between a ‘Repub’ and a conservative. A Repub is a political switch-hitter (not unlike morons like Specter and McCain).
A conservative is not afraid of common sense. A conservative will call a spade a spade – without checking a poll first. A conservative worships freedom. The main difference between what you see as political ‘truth’ and what a conservative sees as political truth is the bottom line.
We KNOW why the Constitution is so important to freedom. You and your ilk never understood it, you have no use for it, and you are ‘naive’ enough to think we will sit back, smile and flock to your open tent to become ‘friends’ (on YOUR terms, of course).
May your tent be the breeding grounds for all manner of pests. May your tent be used as the amorous resort of elephants in rut. May your tent be seen as the home of every type of perversity and subhuman acvtivity known since the first human walked the planet.
We don’t need no ‘estinkin’ tent. May you someday
find a better, more positive path. The way you’re headed, you have no chance because you never TEST your icons. When/if you find your way, your icons will have much to fear. For now, THEY control YOU. That is NOT freedom.

      • Mike In MI

        s. c.

Don’t put it, “may your tent be”. It already is and I ain’t goin’ in hat briar patch.

      • Claire

sc –”May your tent” — your comments made me think about something I heard years ago…

“May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits.”

It was funny as heck way back when but probably sounds goofy now.

      • eyeswideopen

sc, conservatives have been masquerading as repubs and vice versa since someone came up with the idea that the conservatives can’t get into office, so let’s just ride on the republican coat tails, get into office and try to stay there. If that isn’t true how do you account for all the conservative think tanks employing all the republicans who are no longer in office? Check out the political designation of the directors, ceo’s of: Heritage Foundation, Americans for Prosperity, Citizens for Sound Policy, Cato, Inst. Freedom Works. Every single one of them are Republicans playing like they are Conservatives. You people need to research your own people and understand that they represent you!!! By the way what is Ron Paul legally known by in the Senate? His designation is REPUBLICAN, not conservative or libertarian, but Republican. You are hypocritical.

      • JeffH

Claire, that would be the problem I have with Grayson. He’s well known to speak his mind when it suits him. Grayson obviously supports Obama’s agenda and to me that speaks volumes about the man.
He’s not afraid to speak before he thinks, or his temper is such that he can’t restrain himself. I see the same thing in Pelosi, Reid and Obama as well as many RINOs.

      • Claire

Jeff H — I remember the first time I heard him I did a double-take. I thought Whoa!! He was very outspoken, not mad or anything. Just very blunt in his speaking. And he was going after the Dems too.

      • JeffH

Claire, this link was posted further down and shed light on this matter. I found the article comforting and enlightening to read, and goes into great detail about Grayson and Dr. Cassel.

      • Claire

Jeff H — I read this article. Very informative. I still like the guy’s courage to say what he thinks regardless of party affiliation. And I still think he would take on Obama and any other Democrat if the situation arose. But then again, “speak softly and carry a big stick” has some merit too.

    • Hugh Jordin

This Doctor should switch to proctology. That way he only has to treat anuses like himself.

      • American Citizen

A doctor’s practice is a business most like any other and he/she has a right to accept or reject a “customer”. That’s the problem with people in this country, they think they have a “right” to health care.

      • Doc Sarvis

Why shouldn’t people be able to get the health care that they need?

      • JeffH

The better question is; why should government have the right to use an IRS armed force that can force anyone to get mandated health care?

      • Doc Sarvis

Actually, I think my question is much better – more fundamental.
