House Democrats report widespread threats following healthcare voteThe FBI is currently investigating several reported death threats and acts of vandalism aimed at Democrats who voted to overhaul the healthcare system.

While more than 10 lawmakers complained of threats leading up to the final vote, two congresswomen from New York and Arizona reported that the windows of their district offices had been smashed soon after the measure was passed.

Furthermore, the FBI is also investigating an alleged incident concerning Representative Tom Perriello’s (D-Va.) brother, who told investigators that a gas line had been purposefully severed at his Charlottesville home. Apparently, Tea Party activists had posted the address online assuming that it was the congressmen’s estate, encouraging members to stop in and "express their thanks" for his vote, Fox News reports.

Meanwhile, Representative Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.), who herself received "alarming" threats, blamed leaders of the GOP on Wednesday for "fanning the flames" of hatred toward Democrats, according to USA Today.

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) condemned the acts of violence in an interview with Fox News, calling the threats "unacceptable."

"Yes, I know there is anger, but let’s take that anger and go out and register people to vote, go volunteer on a political campaign, and let’s do it the right way," he said.

    As a widow of a military retiree, who stood with her husband for over 20 years while he served this country (which was the greatest in the world until this Congress and President took over), I have to say I agree. Shirley

    As a retired military man that have given over twenty-seven years of my life to my country, I truly feel that what this
    Country needs most is a new amendment to the Constitution . I am recommending that we add the 28th amendment to the Constitution of the UNITED STATES.

    For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that Congress members could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they didn’t pay into Social Security, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform that is being considered…in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn’t seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

    This is a good way to do that. It is an idea whose time has come, Jim.

    Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:

    “Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Congressman, Senators and Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Congressman. Senators and Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States”.

    This 28th amendment to the Constitution of the UNITED STATES Will apply to all passed, present and future
    congressman, Senators And Representatives.

    RECENT VIRGINIA CHURCH SERVICE -STIMULUS SERMON

    I would love to give the Pastor of this predominantly black church in Virginia a hug and a high five.
    This guy is obviously a leader and not one of the sheep.
    Perhaps we should each decide who our real leader is….. It is amazing to see that very little has changed in 4,000 years.

    Good morning, brothers and sisters; it’s always a delight to see the pews crowded on Sunday morning,
    and so eager to get into God’s Word. Turn with me in your Bibles,
    if you will to the 47th chapter of Genesis, we’ll begin our reading at verse 13, and go through verse 27.

    Brother Ray, would you stand and read that great passage for us?
    ….(reading)…Thank you for that fine reading, Brother Ray… So we see that economic hard times fell upon Egypt ,
    and the people turned to the government of Pharaoh to deal with this for them.
    And Pharaoh nationalized the grain harvest, and placed the grain in great storehouses that he had built. So the people brought their money to Pharaoh, like a great tax increase,
    and gave it all to him willingly in return for grain. And this went on until their money ran out, and they were hungry again.

    So when they went to Pharaoh after that, they brought their livestock, their cattle, their horses, their sheep, and their donkey – to barter for grain, and verse 17 says that only took them through the end of that year..

    But the famine wasn’t over, was it? So the next year, the people came before Pharaoh and admitted they had nothing left, except their land and their own lives. “There is nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our land. Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for food, and we with our land will be servants to Pharaoh.” So they surrendered their homes, their land, and their real estate to Pharaoh’s government, and then sold themselves into slavery to him, in return for grain. What can we learn from this, brothers and sisters?

    That turning to the government instead of to God to be our provider in hard times only leads to slavery?
    Yes.
    That the only reason government wants to be our provider is to also become our master?

    Yes.

    But look how that passage ends, brothers and sisters! Thus Israel settled in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen…And they gained possessions in it, and were fruitful and multiplied greatly.” God provided for His people, just as He always has! They didn’t end up giving all their possessions to possessions to government, no, it says they gained possessions! But I also tell you a great truth today, and an ominous one.

    We see the same thing happening today – the government today wants to “share the wealth “once again, to take it from us and redistribute it back to us. It wants to take control of healthcare, just as it has taken control of education, and ration it back to us, and when government rations it, then government decides who gets it, and how much, and what kind. And if we go along with it, and do it willingly, then we will wind up no differently than the people of Egypt did four thousand years ago – as slaves to the government, and as slaves to our leaders.

    What Mr. Obama’s government is doing now is no different from what Pharaoh’s government did then, and it will end the same.

    And a lot of people like to call Mr. Obama a “Messiah,” don’t they?

    Is he a Messiah?

    A savior?

    Didn’t the Egyptians say, after Pharaoh made them his slaves, “You have saved our lives; may it please my lord, we will be servants to Pharaoh”?

    Well, I tell you this, I know the Messiah; the Messiah is a friend of mine; and Mr. Obama is no Messiah! No, brothers and sisters, if Mr. Obama is a character from the Bible, then he is Pharaoh.

    Bow with me in prayer, if you will.

    Lord, You alone are worthy to be served, and we rely on You, and You alone.

    We confess that the government is not our deliverer, and never rightly will be.

    We read in the eighth chapter of 1 Samuel, when Samuel warned the people of what a ruler would do, where it says “And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day.”
    And Lord, we acknowledge that day has come. We cry out to you because of the ruler that we have chosen for ourselves as a nation. Lord, we pray for this nation. We pray for revival, and we pray for deliverance from those who would be our masters.

    Give us hearts to seek You and hands to serve You, and protect Your people from the atrocities of Pharaoh’s government.

    In God We Trust…

    When I see this country today I think Spain-1934 or 5. The forces of polarization are such that we are building the background for the Second American Civil War. For every nut case group like tho one they busted in the midwest there are individuals and little groups of quiet and sober people who are quietly arming,training (more just getting in shape physically and taking precautions) without any fanfare. The Tea party is just the outward tip of the iceberg. The vast majority of the fed up masses in the country are not resorting to violence and intimidation. That could change if the left uses the state as a tool of coercion and the powers of the state to “regulate” the people into a state of subservience. Being a westerner and a Montana boy born and raised I know well and understand the feeling of freedome and personal responsibility that is out there. Many people are saying..Just give us an excuse.

    Whatever those “camps” are they were there long before Obama took office. I think they were there before Clinton too. If they were Fema camps or what you suspect, concentration camps, Bush had 8 long years to do away with them.

    Sometimes things are not what they seem.

    Like I said, at least one such camp was a photo of a camp in North korea.

    Perhaps you are right, perhaps they are holding camps. Perhaps they do plan on putting trouble makers in there in the event of widespread civil unrest.

    That would be another very good reason to stay nonviolent, don’t you think?

      I agree Tom, Last week I was ready to go to war I was so upset. Then I sat back and watched Obama and realized that that is exactly what he wants. We are smarter than that, and we have to stay that way. We can defeat this non violently, peacefully, intellectually, gradually. We have to be patient and calm and when Obama or anybody tries to goad us into getting angry we have to try hard to ignore it. I know it won’t be easy, but we have to stay the course as long as they don’t attack us physically, we must not use violence either. That goes for all of us on this blog- don’t let AmLib and Norm and such upset you, don’t get mad, get even! It’s not hard considering the source.

        I do think our government has been hijacked by special interest, powerful special interest. But for them it doesn’t matter who is president, Democrat or Republican. They have rigged the game. We are only given choices of leaders they want, so for them, it really didn’t matter who won the last election, Obama or McCain, because special interest wins no matter what.

        Thats why we saw Bush handing out bailout money, thats why we saw Obama handing out bailout money.
        Bailout money wasn’t needed. GM wanted money, but Bush didn’t like their unions so he didn’t give GM anything. He played favorites, it wasn’t about saving any companies, or he wouldn’t have been playing games right?
        Obama was union friendly, so he gave GM money.

        They are all bought off and bribed.

    The problem is that Obama followed suit and did the very things that Bush did, so I no longer support him either.
    I am a lifelong conservative leaning registered Independent. I think this country is big enough that we can all listen respectfully to other people views without getting pissed off. Even as a conservative I support Medicare, because without it millions of elderly Americans would be with out health insurance. Medicare solves a lot of problems. Is it the governments job to supply health coverage? No, but sometimes the system can be tweaked to provide solutions, so long as we don’t get too far off track.

    I listen to so called HATE radio, yet I have never said all Liberal ideas are bad. Why am I not poisoned with hate?

    Right wing radio is just another viewpoint. if you don’t agree, then don’t listen.

    I for one shudder at the thought of an America with only 1 party. We need checks and balances. Imagine if Bush had zero opposition?

    I just think everybody needs to just calm down, and accept that there are opposing views.

    As for the so called Death Camps, or Fema Camps. Yes Glen Beck did debunk them, I heard the show. I don’t know what those are. I do know that one such Fema Camp picture was really a picture of a camp in North Korea. So I think some of us need to get a grip, and only believe what can be proven.

    Its not all hate….LOL! Most of it is pretty level headed. You just don’t agree with it, and thats fine.

      when you fight a war, do you fight them on their terms or their own? Do you fight them on their own area or do you draw them out if you can and get them to fight on unfamiliar territory??? Let me answer it for you. you get them to fight on your terms in unfamiliar territory if at all possible. To have fought all of them in the mountains would have been suicide!!     Glenn Beck has NEVER advocated violence. Glenn has been real clear, and has spent a lot of time urging everyone NOT to resort to violence. And he’s right.

    Violence like this is definitely not the answer. Not just because its wrong, but because it could result in a crackdown on our liberties. We don’t need more gun regulation, or any more loss of our liberties.

    Seriously, anybody even thinking that violence is the answer needs to get that thought out of their heads right now.

    Those who engage in violence are easy to stop. What they cannot stop are noviolent, unarmed people. Because then they look like A-Holes picking on nonviolent people.

    To understand how to get your country back, you need to understand how you lost it in the first place. No shot was ever fired. It was done through infiltration. To get it back, we need to do the same. Either support third parties, or use say the Tea Party to infiltrate the GOP like a trojan horse. Use the system to change the system.

    Violence looses all credibility, and its the stuff of complete morons.

    Although, I do have my suspicions that some of this violence may be due to left wing operatives hoping to discredit the opposition.

    Just stay clearly nonviolent. Be vocal about it and urge others to do the same.
    Violence won’t work, it will backfire.

    They can’t stop you if you are peaceful. Remember that.

        I was one of those Vietnam vets that came home and got a welcome from hell..I spent 22 years as a fighter pilot,,and the biggest part of it in Vietnam..I would like to fill that I saved a lot of our brave men by flying cover for them..It was sad seeing some of our on people tortured,,maimed,,and killed..
        I fought my heart out for our country,,and didn’t even get a pat on the back from anyone other than my family..But I am grateful that I made it home,,because a lot of my friends did not..God Bless Their Souls And Families..I still wake up nights and see those kids,,women,,and innocent people in those villages being killed..Some of them by their on people..They where ruthless people,,didn’t care for anyone..

Anyone think that Hannity, Beck, O’reilly , Madcow, Obberego or Limbaugh don’t recieve threats? Democrats aren’t the only politicians that recieve the threats, although based on media reports they are the only ones that are reported, until they are corrected. The mass hysteria reports by the media left that “Tea Baggers” are violent and threatening is laughable at worst. There are fringe idiots with all kinds of beliefs, right, middle or left that live for their chance at “fame”, which usually ends up with a picture in the police or FBI blotter and maybe a story on the arrest.
