As immigration supporters converge on Washington, FAIR accuses Obama of sellout On March 18, President Obama made a pledge to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) that he would push for amnesty for illegal aliens, in a move that that the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) called an act of "buying votes."

Obama’s promise came just hours after members of the CHC threw their support behind the healthcare reform bill, which passed late on March 21.

The announcement also coincided with the release of an outline for amnesty legislation by Senators Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), which would require illegal aliens to admit that they broke the law, pay a fine and back taxes and fulfill certain civic requirements in order to regulate their status. Moreover, the proposal calls for increases in future immigration to the United States.

"The Schumer-Graham plan appears to be a near carbon copy of the McCain-Kennedy-Bush amnesty legislation that was resoundingly rejected by the American people in 2007," said Dan Stein, president of FAIR.

Coincidentally, a huge crowd marched on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., March 21—the day of the healthcare vote—to support the administration’s proposals for immigration overhaul.

During the rally, Obama spoke via a video link, saying he would do "everything in my power" to get a deal within the year.

"While Congress and the administration ignore the concerns of millions of American families who are struggling through the worst economic crisis in 75 years, they appear remarkably responsive to the demands of people who are in the country illegally," Stein commented.

They were fed government cheese so they became known as constipation camps.Also I looked up the term oxymoron in wikipedia and Rush Limbaugh came up.The after effects of abusing oxycontin are the acts of twirling ones arms and bouncing up &down.     It is NOT that Conservatives are against Immigration! They are against ILLEGALS! Everyone coming in should be approved for Citizenship, AFTER they are screened for Criminal backgrounds, just like they were in Ellis island, etc, 100 years ago. That Would be FAIR. The process just is too long now. When my grandfather came over from Northern Ireland, he didn’t have to wait the years & years people currently have to wait. It needs shortening; we just should NOT let in the criminals. That is the point of the immigration process. Many illegals have committed murder & rape crimes here! We should WELCOME people into Our Country, But we also should get to choose our citizens based on their good records….No Criminals need apply!

      There was a little difference then. We still needed laborers to help build this great nation of ours. We don’t now. we have to do like Austrailia does in that they don’t allow immigration unless you have a skill they need!!! We need to do that, too! It has to be one that has a projected shortage as well!!

    I would like to respond to Joe H. Eisenhower deported 80,000 during operation Wet Back, but esimates believe that 700,000 to 1,000,000 fled due to the operation. FDR’s Presidency deported 400,000 as a result of the Great Depression. During the 1970′s 10,000,000. were deported. If they can do it then we can do it now. We now have one out of every seven Mexicans in America, if they are legalized there is no point to the border fence. La Raza is on the payroll of this administration. So it has cost the Americicans one trillion dollars in the underground, according to democratic Senator Wiley of N.Y. plus billions more State for State. Nancy Polosi also gave them 10,000,000 for lawyers in the fall of 2008 to help them. Don’t you find it odd they just want to legalize the Hispanics? Maybe they will add a few others just to make ikt look good.

      Marilyn, I have hunted for 20mins trying to find documentation about those 10 million you said were deported during 70′s. If that amount was successfuly deported, why did Reagan in the 80′s grant amnesty to 3.2 million?? Was he just too lazy to deport? You totals are not correct, how about a link showing the 10 million stats? A link would be nice to support the 10 million you claim Nancy gave to them.

      A few links to back up your statements would be nice.

    I would love to give the Pastor of this predominantly black church in Virginia a hug and a high five.
    This guy is obviously a leader and not one of the sheep.
    Perhaps we should each decide who our real leader is….. It is amazing to see that very little has changed in 4,000 years.

    Good morning, brothers and sisters; it’s always a delight to see the pews crowded on Sunday morning,
    and so eager to get into God’s Word. Turn with me in your Bibles,
    if you will to the 47th chapter of Genesis, we’ll begin our reading at verse 13, and go through verse 27.

    Brother Ray, would you stand and read that great passage for us?
    ….(reading)…Thank you for that fine reading, Brother Ray… So we see that economic hard times fell upon Egypt ,
    and the people turned to the government of Pharaoh to deal with this for them.
    And Pharaoh nationalized the grain harvest, and placed the grain in great storehouses that he had built. So the people brought their money to Pharaoh, like a great tax increase,
    and gave it all to him willingly in return for grain. And this went on until their money ran out, and they were hungry again.

    So when they went to Pharaoh after that, they brought their livestock, their cattle, their horses, their sheep, and their donkey – to barter for grain, and verse 17 says that only took them through the end of that year..

    But the famine wasn’t over, was it? So the next year, the people came before Pharaoh and admitted they had nothing left, except their land and their own lives. “There is nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our land. Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for food, and we with our land will be servants to Pharaoh.” So they surrendered their homes, their land, and their real estate to Pharaoh’s government, and then sold themselves into slavery to him, in return for grain. What can we learn from this, brothers and sisters?

    That turning to the government instead of to God to be our provider in hard times only leads to slavery?
    Yes.
    That the only reason government wants to be our provider is to also become our master?

    Yes.

    But look how that passage ends, brothers and sisters! Thus Israel settled in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen…And they gained possessions in it, and were fruitful and multiplied greatly.” God provided for His people, just as He always has! They didn’t end up giving all their possessions to possessions to government, no, it says they gained possessions! But I also tell you a great truth today, and an ominous one.

    We see the same thing happening today – the government today wants to “share the wealth “once again, to take it from us and redistribute it back to us. It wants to take control of healthcare, just as it has taken control of education, and ration it back to us, and when government rations it, then government decides who gets it, and how much, and what kind. And if we go along with it, and do it willingly, then we will wind up no differently than the people of Egypt did four thousand years ago – as slaves to the government, and as slaves to our leaders.

    What Mr. Obama’s government is doing now is no different from what Pharaoh’s government did then, and it will end the same.

    And a lot of people like to call Mr. Obama a “Messiah,” don’t they?

    Is he a Messiah?

    A savior?

    Didn’t the Egyptians say, after Pharaoh made them his slaves, “You have saved our lives; may it please my lord, we will be servants to Pharaoh”?

    Well, I tell you this, I know the Messiah; the Messiah is a friend of mine; and Mr. Obama is no Messiah! No, brothers and sisters, if Mr. Obama is a character from the Bible, then he is Pharaoh.

    Bow with me in prayer, if you will.

    Lord, You alone are worthy to be served, and we rely on You, and You alone.

    We confess that the government is not our deliverer, and never rightly will be.

    We read in the eighth chapter of 1 Samuel, when Samuel warned the people of what a ruler would do, where it says “And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day.”
    And Lord, we acknowledge that day has come. We cry out to you because of the ruler that we have chosen for ourselves as a nation. Lord, we pray for this nation. We pray for revival, and we pray for deliverance from those who would be our masters.

    Give us hearts to seek You and hands to serve You, and protect Your people from the atrocities of Pharaoh’s government.

    In God We Trust…

      AMEN! I just sure wish more Obama zombies would read this and actually understand it as it is a glimmer into our future the way things are going right now. For all those American Blacks that think Obama can do no wrong, for those that hated the era of slavery in this country, well, they are headed right back to it and they are doing it willingly. It is a said thing. For those caucasian Americans that do not know anything about slavery, well, they are going to find out the hard way. I for one, do not want slavery ever again in this country and I will not allow it to take we over without a fight.     As a retired military man that have given over twenty-seven years of my life to my country, I truly feel that what this
    Country needs most is a new amendment to the Constitution . I am recommending that we add the 28th amendment to the Constitution of the UNITED STATES.

    For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that Congress members could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they didn’t pay into Social Security, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform that is being considered…in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn’t seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

    This is a good way to do that. It is an idea whose time has come, Jim.

    “Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Congressman, Senators and Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Congressman. Senators and Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States”.

    congressman, Senators And Representatives.
    Just think how must money this action would save the tax payers!!!!!

      You sound like you have been reading or listening to Thomas Paine. If so, that’s great! We need to get back to the ways of our founding fathers. I’m also a member of the TEA PARTY. Many of these things, I think, Obama is trying to tell us to be tollerant to what’s going on. Remember what Aristotle said, “Tollerance is the last virtue of a dying society.”

    We have to man up and apply a little tough love for our country. Yes, it is tragic to separate children from parents, but repeat after me, THAT IS HOW THEY FORCE US TO COWARDLY CAVE IN TO THEM. It is not much different than a divorce or restraining order when one parent is deprived of relationship with children. We MUST tell them, “Take your American citizen child back to Mexico with you, or leave it here as a foster child and go back!”
    And as to the idea we cannot arrest and deport 12 million illegals, it is too much of a task? What if 12 million Mexicans gathered at our borders and invaded? Too cowardly to kick them out?

    With millions of Americans out of a job, not only do you have millions of illegal’s here taking jobs but there are 130,000 legal immigrants per month pouring in to make up a cheaper wage pool when and if jobs return.
    Greenspan summed it up when he testified in congress ” American workers have become too elite, we need the foreign workers to fill the jobs and occupy the foreclosed homes”, And none of your Congress people objected.

    To hell with illegal aliens!

    We need to make life miserable for them. It’s become a birthright for Mexicans to waltz across the border and set up camp in America. They don’t even consider what they might do in their home country.

    They often leave jobs and family in Mexico, not the kind of people I want added to our population. They often have no education and no skills, they are a permanent burden. Then they start spewing out their spawn and raping our welfare system.

    We have to make it known loud and clear that they are not welcome here and there will be consequences for their abhorrent behavior. They came here on their own accord, no one dragged them. If families are split up it’s no ones fault but their own.

    The suffering needs to be transferred from the American citizens to those who blatantly break our laws and destroy the lives of citizens through their belligerence and selfishness.

    Enforce the laws on the books! Add another 10,000 border patrols agents on BOTH borders. Deport the bastards when they’re caught. Remove all entitlements, especially birthright citizenship. Make their lives miserable and we can reverse this trend!

      You are absolutely right, they are mostly uneducated and unskilled. I see dozens of them hanging out in front of Home Depot everyday. Another nursery in town had to put up a chain-link fence around the parking lot as the illegals were descending upon drivers coming in, they toss their cigarette butts all over the property, urinate in the company’s bushes and harrass the customers. Send them all home!

    Abortion kills the innocent. But there are a few people now in power, whose mothers should have had an abortion. I can think of 50 or so in about 30 seconds. Killing them would not have been killing the “innocent”.
    God has allowed a bad winter to show Al Gore who is really in charge. Let’s hope the environmentalists figure it out while they, themselves, are wasting our resources

These politicians have done a good job of class warfare would you agree? We The People are in this together. Use some good old fashioned common sense folks. Whether they be Democrat, Republican, Independent they have found that to divide us is to conquer. I say send them all a very clear message and vote them all out come November, even the ones we agree with, we can always vote them back in come the next election. This is truly the only way that I can see to let them know who is in charge (at least peacefully.) Remember my fellow patriots that if we do nothing but bitch about it then it’s bitches we get.       Last election far too many of us thought we would show those republicans and voted for democrates with out thought as to their qualifications! The problem was never republican, democrate in any case! It’s progressive, conservative! If we can focus on this in November, we can begin to correct the problems we have allowed to be created!

    All that they have to do is make a law that says just because a child is born in this country dual or single citizenship WILL NOT BE BESTOWED UPON THAT CHILD OR ITS ILLEGAL MOTHER AND FATHER! It should be worded in such a way that all children EVER born in this country of illegal parents would fall under this law! I do not care if they are 50 years old. If they want to live and work here then they should have to come in the “right” way, by working through the citizenship class after legal admission to the country. Give ICE the manpower to round up all of these people and I guarantee a bunch of them would run for home before they got arrested! Then the border fence should be built as originally planned and be patrolled every minute of every day! Mexico should have to pay for the restoration of the once beautiful country in Arizona and neighboring states which has been destroyed by these people, to say nothing about the livestock and people who live close to the borders property and pets which have been killed! It can and should be done but you can bet the democrats and BO will not do it because they want the votes! They do not care if they are legal votes or not!

    I have mixed feelings about the whole thing.I TOTALLY believe that ALL immigration should be done legally, that is a fact, I also believe that all illegal aliens should NOT be here.I don’t think amnesty for them is the answer(because what they’ve done is a crime) the problem is so huge and out of control, I’m stumped! I do know this, there is a right way to do something and a wrong way and amnesty is probably not the right way. It will cost millions of dollars(either way) to attack this problem but something must be done.
    I also think there is an inherent weakness(by America,mainly obama) by allowing illegal aliens amnesty.Obama has already went around the world apologizing for “EVIL AMERICA” and by allowing amnesty to illegal aliens,that only solidifies our weakness. Maybe I’m wrong about this analogy.
    My mixed feeling is,I DO FEEL SORRY for the people of Mexico their government is so corrupt and the people are so poor I really can’t blame them for coming here, but we’re facing a corrupt government too.

    Obama an expert on Constitutional law should know that a usurper is ineligible for the Office of the President. One cannot faithfully execute the Office of the President of the United States because;

    His every act in the usurped Office of the President is a criminal offense as an act under color of law that would subject the People to the deprivation of their constitutional rights, and entitling no obedience whatsoever from the People;
    As a usurper acting in the guise of the President you could not legally function as the Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy and of the militia of the several states, as such forces would be under no legal obligation to remain obedient to you;

    No one in any civilian agency in the Executive Branch would be required to obey any of your proclamations, executive orders or directives, as such orders would be legally VOID;

    Your appointment of Ambassadors and Judges to the Supreme Court would be VOID ab initio (i.e., from the beginning), no matter what subsequent actions the Senate might take as well as rendering any such acts by such appointed officials void as well;

    Congress would not be able to pass any new laws because they would not be able to acquire the signature of a bona fide President, rendering all such legislation legally VOID;

      American Liberal, I just want to say that in my home state of Indiana the governor, Mitch Daniels, has already had legislation passed dealing with illegal aliens. Since then, we have had more alien round ups, fined more businesses for hiring them, and had more jobs open up for Americans. Whoops! I forgot! Barack “Insane” Hussein Obama was elected president and now they’re all gone!

      Fines for hiring illegals is not enough; they should shut each business down until the issue is thoroughly corrected! Let these business owners loose their income temporarily until they learn to obey the law also.
      If this were to be implemented; we might see a reduction in illegal hiring of illegal aliens!!

Just fine them and make it steep enough that they don’t care to take the chance again and make each infraction worse!!!     Their proposal does not address what happens to illegals who don’t go along with the amnesty requirements and choose to remain illegal aliens. This is insane! A third of the prisoners in my state are illegal aliens. Once they see how easy it is to break our law to enter legally, it emboldens them to break even more laws. This includes some of the most violent criminals in the state who would kill you for $2. The democrats are doing this for one reason only, to get more votes and then all the illegals can get in on this health care fiasco too.

      Joe H–First of all, I sincerely respect you and your judgement. You are correct on many issues and I read all of your posts. However, I have really listened to Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, Olbermann, Coulter, Maddow and others. I have read “between the lines” and while some of the things they say are correct, they always add their little “bits and pieces” of tidbits with the full intent of keeping the dissent going and growing. With some of the stuff they say, I really get the impression that they all WANT something bad to happen, they WANT trouble. I am not standing up for the current administration nor any of the past administrations, I just do not believe in adding fuel to the fire with the rebel rousing comments that the radio/tv entertainers make. I think they want to incite violence. Consequently I will no longer listen to any of them. I will find out what I need to know myself. I will use my common sense and figure out what is right and what is wrong. I will not depend on these people to make up my mind. I will come to my own conclusions about issues.
      Nothing will be achieved with violence-only death and destruction and the downfall of America. Violence begets violence.
      Martial Law- the current administration would be nuts to do this. If they do, then we will have to protect ourselves. Simple as that.

        American Liberal–I really believe what I posted. This may sound corny but I consider my husband to be the epitomy of honesty and good judgment. And when he stopped listening to them, and said he would find the truth himself, it made me sit up and think about it! Also, he is a fighter. He does not believe in violence but he will not put up with it either. He defends his rights and will stand his ground for what he believes in. He is very patriotic, and with him, America comes first. He is truly aggravated with the health reform issue and he knows a lot about it. Since he is retired, he has had a lot of time to find out the truth about a lot of issues. After 50 years of being together, I trust and believe him more than I would believe any administration. He is wise and a lot of what he has predicted has come true.

        I became involved with politics in 1968, after my tour in Vietnam. That was long before the internet, of course. I learned the value of the local Library. There one can access the contemporary documents, liturature,and correspondence. Usually I gleen a far different picture of events, past or present, than by listening to the radio, watching the t.v., or surfing the internet! I use the internet only to discover how some others feel and ,occasionally, find a new topic to research!

        Ted–No, we do not need these people or any politician inciting violence. Politicians from both parties have said radical things. They should get a grip and stop it. It is a matter of voting out the politicians you don’t want in office. If the Republicans gain control they will probably undo what has been done regarding health reform. If the Dems remain in control it will be more of the same. Who knows what will happen. I really don’t respect either party at this time.
        Regarding amnesty–it will be argued about for another year and who knows what the outcome will be?
        The economy and jobs should have been taken care of first. Then amnesty. And BIG SUPPORT for our TROOPS. We have to take care of them.
        These are just my thoughts and I stick to them. Regarding my husband, yeah he’s a doll. He is my rock. 50 years and we are still going. Thank the good Lord.

When is this insanity going to end? Until the true Americans are totally destitute? Why don’t they round them all up, like the government did to the Japanese in World War II?       Claire, there weren’t 12 million of them to round up. How much money do you think it would cost to do that? How much to feed them until you transport? How much to transport them? What do you do with the children born here? Please don’t say suspend the Constitution. How much in medical costs during transport? How many personell do you think it will take to round them up? What do you do with all their personal belongings, furniture, cars, clothes? How many billions of dollars do you think it would take to round them all up and transport them back to Mexico? That is probably why Reagan granted amnesty to 3.2 million. But then he failed to make our border more secure and pass stricter laws, but the biggest offenders are the employers and those that know illegals are working somewhere and don’t turn them in. Do you have any ideas on what to really do?

        Eyes–You have made some strong points. I thought about all of this, it is a nightmare. I realize the issue concerning the children that are born here, but that is why they hurry up and have kids. Reagan and the Congress at the time dropped the ball and the administrations that followed Reagan did not deal with the situation either. None of the administrations wanted to “deal” with this issue, they always left it all up to the “next” administration. Like you said, Reagan dealt with 3.2 million but didn’t follow through with closing and securing our borders so that no more would get in. A golden opportunity to end the issue or at least put a “lid” on it was lost. Consequently the illegals thought they would all be granted amnesty so they came in droves. And now they are raising hell with the current administration. The current administration has to deal with the mess that was never dealt with properly.
        Possibly the couples/single parents that have children that were born here could be granted amnesty but not the rest of them. But then again some couples will have a child born in the U.S. and the rest of their kids were not, so the whole family would be granted amnesty. The family unit cannot be broken up. I would handle this issue in this manner, all other illegals would be sent packing. It will be a “hard nose” situation, but there is no other solution.
        If they grant amnesty to the ones with American-born kids and to all illegals that are already here, they should follow through with the process and close the borders and make damn sure no one else gets in. This can be done if they want to bad enough. We have already spent trillions of dollars on everything else, what is another trillion?
        The Constitution–leave as is. The administrations–there are so many loopholes they have all used to “get around” other issues that are debatable with the mechanisms of the Constitution. Look at all the people that are screaming that the current issues at hand were not dealt with according to the Constitution. This is a fact that has been going on for years. This aspect will never go away.
        Regarding employers, they want cheap labor and not give any benefits. A lot of these issues regarding employers is nothing more than greed. I realize not all employers/employees are greedy, but a lot of them are. Greed and corruption has consumed the way of life for many many years. A lot of them were/are concerned with making and pocketing a fast buck. And if illegals are granted amnesty, they will continue to be cheap labor, and others will continue to be jobless. The taxpayer will still have to contribute towards their welfare.
        The issue of amnesty has reached a “boiling point” and has to be dealt with. If this issue is not handled properly/thoroughly and taken care of NOW, there will be no turning back. It is an issue that cannot be evaded.

        Just because they are born here doesn’t give them status to be called an American. If their parents are illegal aliens then the children are too. We shouldn’t forget that we aren’t Americans just because we are born here either. We have to earn the right to be called Americans by remembering service, honor, and duty to country. We should love this country, follow the ways of our founding fathers, the Constitution, vote for our representatives, etc. If we do these things, along with working hard and earning our pay, then we can call ourselves Americans.

        My niece and nephew were born in England (American military parents). The family returned to the United States. The parents took care of the children, not the government of England or the government of the U.S.A. It is the parents responsibility to care for their children where ever the family lives. At birth the children were granted dual citizenship until the age of 18. At that point the children declared their allegiance to their county of choice.

        sc—I did not know about FDR wanting to round up the Japanese Americans before the attack on Pearl Harbor. It makes me wonder if he knew Pearl Harbor was going to be attacked? Maybe he was preparing? Or probably it was because we were at war with Japan. Interesting. Basically, I have read about FDR but apparently not enough because I did not know this. But I have read enough about him that I know he wouldn’t have been my choice if I had been old enough to vote at the time. There are so many politicians that have contributed towards this mess we are in, that it is appalling. A downhill slide for years and years.

        Actually, back during The Great Depression, President Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work..

        Harry Truman deported over two million Illegal’s after WWII to create jobs for returning veterans.

        And then again in 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million

        So, in reality there were three Presidents who supported amnesty. It CAN be done if we step up and rage against the machine.

      Careful Claire!!! I fought alongside the 442nd Regimental Combat Team — an all Japanese-American outfit — in Italy in 1944. If anyone ever earned the right to be called “American,” those guys did. They had one of the best, if not THE best combat record of any outfit in the Army.
