Joe Biden’s Deceptive Celebration

February 26, 2010 by

Joe Biden’s Deceptive Celebration

Well, once again Barack Obama’s schedule conflicts with mine. The President has announced that he will host a “bipartisan summit” on healthcare this coming Thursday in Washington.

I say “this coming Thursday,” but by the time you read this, it will have been “yesterday.” That’s because I submit this column five days before you read it. So my comments about the healthcare summit—like the one last month, on POTUS’ SOTUS—will have to wait for a week-plus after the event. (In case you’re not up on your Washington acronyms, POTUS’ SOTUS stands for the President of the United States’ State of the Union Speech.)

Every week I write three columns for Personal Liberty Alerts, the wonderful free ezine you just clicked on. Straight Talk (the one you’re reading now) is the lead column every Friday morning. Also on Friday, I write a mini-column called Chip Shots that is the last item on the page. Chip Shots, as the name implies, is a collection of interesting little tidbits from the news. (For example, in today’s effort the first item is the scariest proposal to come out of Washington in a long, long time.)

Then on Wednesday I write another mini-column called This Week in History. This one gives me an opportunity to look back over the past 200 years and select one meaningful event to share with you. For example, two days ago I wrote about “The worst-ever addition” to the U.S. Constitution. Hint: It happened 94 years ago and costs you a ton of money every year. To read it, or any of the past columns, click on the archives tab to the right of this column.

The reason I mention all of this now is that today’s column is about another event in history—the signing one year ago this week of Barack Obama’s $787 “stimulus” bill.

Yes, the White House wants to go all-out to rewrite history about the biggest spending bill in history. It has announced that Vice President Joe Biden and various Federal officials will fan out across the country to speak at numerous rallies that are being staged to “celebrate” this wonderful program.

But what the heck are they celebrating? Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) said recently that any businessman in this country who has hired one new worker has done more for jobs creation than all of Obama’s hundreds of billions.

When he signed the bill into law 12 months ago, President Obama promised that unemployment would never get above 8 percent. A few months later it passed 10 percent. And even that figure is dishonestly low. It does not include anyone who has gotten so discouraged he has stopped looking for work. Nor does it include anyone who lost a full-time job and was forced to accept a part-time job at much lower pay.

The real unemployment figure in this country is at least double the reported number. And it’s probably much higher than that. But don’t count on Obama and his buddies to tell you the truth.

And don’t expect them to tell you the truth about any jobs that were created, either. A year ago, President Obama fully promised that 90 percent of the new jobs would be created in the private sector. An analysis by The New York Times found “the data suggests that well over half of the jobs claimed so far have been in the public sector.” Isn’t that great? Your tax dollars are being used to make our gargantuan government even bigger.

And how about this? We now know that hundreds of millions of stimulus money was spent to create jobs overseas! Thousands of jobs that the White House claimed to have created are in places that don’t even exist! Plus, USA Today reported recently that billions of stimulus dollars are being spent on programs that are so inefficient or redundant that the Administration now wants to cut or eliminate them.

Please tell us, Joe: What the heck will you be “celebrating” this week?

One more rant and I’ll get off this soapbox. When he signed this odious piece of legislation a year ago, our president declared that the money would be spent on “shovel-ready” programs. Every penny would go to work promptly, we were assured, to patch roads, repair bridges, improve sanitation and otherwise fix our shaky infrastructure.

Today, one year later, only one-third of the stimulus funds have actually been spent. Did you know that? Were you aware that of all the money Congress appropriated for this pork-packed monstrosity, a little more than $500 billion remains unspent?

Barack Obama wants to send Joe Biden around the country, bragging about what a spectacular success the stimulus package has been. And the VP—who has absolutely no problem claiming that black is white, hot is cold and wet is dry, if that’s what his boss wants—cheerfully goes along with the fraud.

But the American people haven’t been fooled. A recent New York Times/CBS News poll reported that only 6 percent of the public thinks the stimulus bill has created any jobs.

Let me repeat that number: Just six Americans out of 100 believe Obama’s $787 billion stimulus bill did what it was supposed to do. No wonder the White House has told its many minions not to use the word “stimulus” any more. Now it’s a “jobs creation” program. Or maybe a “jobs savings” program. At least that’s what Biden and Obama hope it will turn out to be… for them.

Before I get off my soapbox for another week, let me mention one more deceit that President Obama loves to utter. Time after time, he defends his massive deficits and budget-busting spending programs by claiming that he inherited “a trillion-dollar deficit” from President Bush.

No, he didn’t. While I’m no fan of the debt George W. piled on the backs of us poor taxpayers, his last deficit was less than half the total our Dissembler in Chief likes to claim. Here are the facts: The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office reports that George Bush’s deficit for fiscal 2008 was $454.8 billion. While that’s a lot of red ink, it’s less than half of the number Obama likes to use.

To get the higher number, the White House engages in some sneaky slight-of-hand. It adds $700 billion from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) to the CBO number, thus coming up with a deficit of over $1 trillion.

The problem with that particular bit of chicanery is that the Treasury only spent $400 billion of the TARP funds while Dubya was still in office. The other $300 billion was handed over to President Obama and Treasury Secretary Geithner in early 2009.

And here’s one more little factoid these grand deceivers like to ignore: Most of the funds the Bush Administration paid out have been returned to the U.S. Treasury… with interest.

So if smilin’ Joe Biden comes to your town and hosts a public rally bragging about all the wonderful things the Obama Administration has done to create jobs with your tax dollars, use the information in this report to set the record straight.

After all, that’s why it’s called Straight Talk.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

Lest we forget, we live in a capitalistic society, but Obama is wanting to change all that so that everyone is the same.

      Wayne in TN,

Yea!!! Another conservative Tennesseean!!! By the way, I’m not happy with Lamar Alexander for voting for the so-called “Jobs Bill” this week. He did a good job at the Health Care summit, but I was already PO’d because of the Jobs vote! This is the 2nd mistake he’s made this year. The other was voting to appoint the radical progressive racist, Sonya Sotomayor, to the Supreme Court! He’s on my list & it’s NOT my Christmas list!

      • budd hamster

        ‘usmadgirl’

So she finally revelled her true self as a back stubbing republican traitor voting for ‘Sotomayor’ a democrat to a chair in the supreme court.

budd hamster. thank you very kindly.

This economic crisis was created by the elites so they can legitimize taking 3/4 of a trillion dallers from the american people, and then Bernaky turns around and makes himself into a hero by saying he saved us from a depression. The largest transfer of wealth in the history of this country could only be pulled off by creating a crisis. The primary reason in which capitalizm operates is to maximize profits, and people comes second. So you see why those big inshurance corperations will never create a healthcare system that benefits all americans, it will only take money out of our pockets to make themselves wealthier. Our biggest mistake was to make it a profiting system.

    • DaveH

      Keith,
Don’t confuse Free Market Capitalism with Crony Capitalism. They are two different animals. Crony Capitalists only succeed with the help of their “enforcer”, i.e. Big Government.
In a Free Market, the consumer is king. If the companies don’t please the consumer they are soon out of business. Free Markets also address a lot of perceived employment wrongs much simpler and without the expensive involvement of the Government Meddlers. For instance, say one company is ignorant and hires its workers based on the color of their skin. In a free market, that company is going to fall prey to the companies that hire the best, most productive workers regardless of skin color. In an unfree market, companies just find ways around the well-intentioned but misguided rules.
The only way the Discriminatory Company can succeed is with the aid of force given by Governments (Crony Capitalism) in a heavily regulated economy.

      • Keith H

Dave I know the difference between the free market and croony capitalizm, The type of capitalizm that our health care system is involved in is to make people believe they’re getting good sevice by charging them a 35 or 45 daller copay just to see the doctor for 5 minuts and make them believe they’re getting there moneys worth when they’re not, because a monetary system breeds corruption, because a car salesman will lie to you to get your money, there is a way to make honest money, but greed always lead to corruption,I only support a honest form of capitalizm.

      • Joe H.

keith, I don’t know where all you people get your Dr.s from. I have heard they don’t reccommend vitamins, only see you for about 5 mins, and all kind of other crap but mine is ALWAYS tn with me for at least 15 minutes or longer if needed. She is the one that started me on 50,000 units of vitamin D twice a week, started me on vitamin E to help my diabetes, all sorts of things like that. You guys need to shop around a bit. If the doc doesn’t fit you then find one that does!!! I’m very satisfied with my dr. and that’s what worries me about Obummers plan!!!

      • Fed Up Gal in NM

        Joe H,

I agree. With the exception of one or two in the past 10 years or so….my Docs spend anywhere from 15-30 minutes, depending on how many questions I might want answered.

Funny story (sort of): I recently switched to a new Doc closer to my home, because when I saw him about a year ago due to a bad case of bronchitis and my Doc could not get me in for a couple of days (and I was quite pleased with him). He is polite, but frank and he occasionally cuts me off….well….I reminded him a couple of times…he does not let me finish when I answer his questions….well…he said…”You don’t mind challenging your doctor, do you?”…..I said…”Of course not; why should I”, and I told him about the “last doctor that I felt responded to me in a demeaning way because I asked about alternative treatments for migraines…I just threw that doctor out of my exam room”. He busted out laughing…and I said…”it’s true”. He apologized and said he will work on being a better listner; he even came back a few minutes and apolgized again and tried to clarify his position in a very respectful manner.

Anyway, long story short….I let my doctors know that I will follow their advice, IF they can convince me there is no alternative treatment that will be effective…and they will need to take my concerns into consideration for my treatment. So far, so good (except for the one or two yoyo’s).

I just think if we go in there as if the Docs are the only one’s in control of our health….well that’s what we’ll end up with. We do have more control than we realize and more than we utilize (IMO)….and we have to be willing to invest in the important dialogue with our doctors. Just my thought.

Thanks Joe H, for your comments.

        Joe H,

        Continued from previous post:

I’d like to add, I also think HMO’s / PPO’s are what causes a lot of problems between patients and their doctors. Many, if not most doctors now belong to HMO’s / PPO’s and have restrictions and quota’s (IMO) placed on them. It’s kind of like a double-edged sword. I will say the doctors I’ve dealt with are in those categories, but with the 2 exceptions I referenced above….when I put them on polite, but firm notice of my health care expections…they still seem to come through. Maybe I’ve just been lucky to get those doctors that will pay attention, when you shine that bright light in their faces.

Sorry you’re still sore about the two GWB elections, but that’s in the past. Time to move on. It’s just too bad that we have a Pres. but not a leader that brought a bunch of amateurs with him to attempt to run the place.

  • Ellen

My question exactly. Why not return the $500 billion to the treasury.
The answer seems obvious; the Chicago mob in the Whitehouse is using it for their slush fund.

    Ellen

  • perry

Where were you guys when George Bush was on TV on October 2008, just before the election, telling us how important it was to stimulate the ecomomy with this 3/4 Trillion loan to banks and businesses or else we would all loose our retirements and stuff? Heck, the whole economy was going to collapse without it.

Geo was the biggest bungler we ever had in office. All of this started and was set inplace on his watch. He must be a democrat.

    • JeffH

perry, where were you? I don’t recall hearing anything on anything from you? In case you haven’t heard or been interpreting comments on this site, very few people, if any, offer total support for GW.

    • DaveH

Actually, George Bush was a Fiscal Liberal, just like his Dad. But guess what? George is gone. It does no good at all to cry over spilled milk, just clean up the mess!

    • L, USA

Please look past your nose when you post. The short of it is that President Bush gave us a LAST CHANCE try to save the good ship America, as we knew it then. Yes, the biggest caper of Chicago gangsterism has been/being pulled in DC. Even if the grassroots survives a full blown socialist takeover attempt, Welcome to the first floor, from being on the top! That is, if the brake on the ‘elevator’ even gets pulled!!!

      • L, USA

Also, study how world (national) governments rise and how they fall. When the tipping point is past, the best hope is in breaking the landing. One thing to think about is that the $500 thousand thousand thousand is only the tip of the iceburg to what has gone thru the democrat(ick) funnel. It will never be returned to the Ameircan people for nothing.

      • L, USA

And one more thing, When not if the changes in American government happen, the most important thing to consider is to prevent mass suffering and death on a megalithic scale across the continent because to much of the pioneering day self-reliance knowledge/strength is now non-existant, along with mass depletion of natural resorces. In other words, without food, clothing, shelter and personal protection, all the gold in the earths crust is worthless!

    • George E.

      Perry,

My recollection is that GWB’s administration told us the banking industry was in peril (triggered by subprime mortgage defaults which was a favorite program of certain Democrats in Congress), and as a result proposed the TARP bill to “loan” money to the banks to help them get through the danger of default. I don’t believe he ever proposed massive bail-outs (give aways) to businesses, like Obama did with General Motors and Chrysler (which was done to save the unions). While the TARP program was controversial, it did strengthen the banking system, and much of these loans has already been repaid to the treasury. If our banks had defaulted in mass, the economy would have really tanked like it did in the 1930′s great depression. So, while I’m reluctant to encourage federal intervention into the private sector, I’ve come to believe there is a role for the fed in managing the banking system.

      • Joe H.

        George,
Careful there, you’ll have the hampster dude on you for sayin that!!!!

    • budd hamster

      ‘perry’

You are obsolutely correct, That shunk is a dirty traitor democrat. he deceptively disguise himself as a republican, so nobody can recognized him to attempt to avoid being held accountable for destroying this country. No good traitors like him should be summarily quartered and salted then hanged to dry.

To think that govt. jobs are just jobs for everyone, just remember, govt jobs do not produce ANYTHING (except red tape). You need the pvt. sector to hire people, to produce widgets, to pay the taxes to keep the govt running. W/O pvt companies, large and small, we have nothing. Look at the Soviet Union and every other communist country. Everyone worked for the govt. and got paid squat unless you were a party insider.
BO/Biden, Pelosi, Reid, are nothing but amateurs that haven’t a clue, but will tell you one lie after another. Then contradict what they said the next week. The Dems in Congress follow suit. The trouble is they all know it, but think we are too ignorant to know the difference At least Bayh knew when to abandon a sinking ship. His father would too, but he was around when things were a lot different.

  • Penni Eads

If a little more than $500 billion of the stimulus money remains unspent, why not return it to the Treasury?

Is it really our government’s fault? Isn’t it truly our fault for letting comfort and materialism trump the true intangible American values that made this country responsible for its actions – the land of manifest destiny?
Everyone, me included, should cast the log out of our own eyes before going after the splinters in our neighbor’s eye. The core principles of our freedom haven’t changed; the constitution is still what our law of the land is predicated on.
It’s we the People who have changed and will keep on changing. The question becomes, do we wish to remain a United States – one nation under God – or do we put party ideology and special interest above community and leveraging our (USA) diversity to strengthen our Nation.
The government is suppose to be representative of its people; as our forefather’s comprehensively put it when declaring our independence in our declaration; when Government ceases to work for the people it governs it becomes the obligation of the people to dismantle that governing body and replace it with one that is truly fashioned by the people to serve the people.
Some 50 years later – about the time we stopped being a producing country and started becoming a consuming country – we are finally waking up to the fact that through our apathy we have allowed a promising flourishing nation become destitute. Don’t blame the ineptness we elect and appoint (from both parties) in false hope of recuing us from our demise; look into your own souls and be truthful, we have compromised our own values for the sake of instant comfort and now we are coming to grips with its consequences.
If our forefather’s could change their plight with the limited resource they had at the time of the revolution against the mightiest empire in the world at that time, surely We The People of this great land can find common ground to band with our neighbors and create positive vision using the same principles our establishers did when they told the King and his Parliament to take a walk if all you are going to do is use US! God Bless America!!!

        Jeff,
Where’s Tim the state employee? Oh, he must have a furlough day off.
Desiree Rogers has announced she’s leaving the WH. Poor soul she only had to arrange 330 events in 14 months. How tiring is that!

      • Claire

Warrior–I had not heard this. Why is she leaving, did she give an reason? There has to be more to it.

      • Warrior

        Well Claire,

I didn’t see any reason given but knowing what a talented individual she is I’m not surprised. There are probably many fortune 100 companies attempting to hire her to manage their gatherings. Oh such a social butterfly!

      • libertytrain

Claire – it looks like it is a direct result of her failure to keep the uninvited guests out of the Whitehouse – though the Secret Service took the blame, she apparently is supposed to be there as guests check-in…rather than socializing with the other guests — that’s what NBC reported this morn.

      • Claire

libertytrain—To me, she should have been doing her job. If she had been there checking the guests then perhaps that goofy couple would not have been allowed in. The people that were responsible should have been on the ball. The way the world is nowadays, a terrorist could have gotten in and then guess what would have happened. This is not acceptable and it could have resulted in dire consequences. It does not matter who the current Presidentis. These are crucial times and we do not need another problem to add to the growing list.

      • libertytrain

Claire, I agree, she should have been doing her job – however, she probably assigned it to one of her 40 assistants – just kidding she probably only has 10-20.

      • Claire

Thanks for the article Mr. Chip Wood. Yes, we have stimulus-plenty of them, but the job situation is underwater. How can we stimulate the job market when we have shipped most of them out oversea.? We need to bring those jobs back and the manufacturing back to create productions and jobs. Just watch what is happening and not listen to empty talk. God help us.

    • http://Don'thaveone Sally

As long as their are Unions with all their demands, and the tree huggers along with stupidity like global warming, we cannot bring manufacturing jobs back. The only reason they left was because of too much regulation, and high cost of employees and their benefits. How can anyone in business justify a janitor at $30.00 an hour plus benefits? By the way David H, good articles on the super wealthy are democrats, and middle class wealthy support Republicans because of taxes. I don’t know if you people on the bogging board know that USA corporations pay the most taxes of any corporations in the world. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

      • Claire

I was under the inpression that “global warming” meant the glaciers were melting, and I heard two big glaciers broke off this week. Global warming does not mean our winters are going to be hot, etc.

      • American Citizen

Glaciers are always breaking off. They get so big, it’s the same as when there’s too much snow, it has to let go and slide down the hill. Scientists have measured the sea ice and say it is actually thickening. The polar bears are increasing in record numbers. Haven’t you heard that global warming is a hoax? Those scientists who started the rumor have admitted it.

      • Claire

American Citizen–Sure, glaciers break off frequently, but nonetheless they are still melting. Climate change? Where I live, we never had tornadoes, now we do. I almost dread Spring because of the storms, and tornado watches/warnings. I have been through numerous tornadoes, and I don’t relish going through another one. Concerning the scientists, they don’t know everything, their so-called lies have indicated this, and since the scientists told lies about global warming, how can I believe them if they say the ice is thickening? I call that backpeddling. As far as I am concerned, they no longer have any credibility. I do not pay attention to Al Gore, I could care less about the guy, he has no credibility either. What I have said here are my OWN beliefs, not someone elses. I do not depend on the so-called professionals for everything I believe and think, especially when the media is so divided. I am my own person.

      • Joe H.

        American Citizen,
        “Glaciers are always breaking off”
So true! Look at the titanic!!! That’s exactly what sunk her!!!

        Claire,
Actually the weather here is less severe. I bought a chain saw about ten years ago when a tree came down and I swore I’d never pay for another to be cut up as it was the fourth one. Since then, we have not had any come down and neither have any of our neighbors. We did have a flood about four years back but that was after three inches of rain in one day!!!

      • Claire

JoeH—I kid you not! I do not look forward to Spring. We had a lot of rain last year, and the storms! When those sirens go off, I think not again! I am so paranoid now about tornadoes that I have a separate room downstairs with crates for the dogs. Then when the sirens go off, I quickly get them indoors and into the crates. One day last year the sirens went off at 4:00 p.m. and I flew out of the office, raced home and I got home while the sirens were still going off! Got those dogs in the house, and into their crates. I never moved so fast in my life. In 3 years I have had 2 new new roofs, siding, and some windows replaced. I have 6 foot cedar fencing around my backyard, and it has blown down every time a twister/tornado comes through. And the posts are 2 feet into the ground. I am amazed a lot of people are not killed. I know other people have been through tornadoes like I have and no doubt worse ones, but I still get worked up. You just never know what will happen. In my area we used to never have tornadoes. I still believe there is some climate change. The weather seems like it is more volatile.

      • Joe H.

        Claire,
The guy next door to me has stockade fencing and it comes down in any wind over 40 miles an hr. It doesn’t let any air through so it acts like a wall instead of a fence. Around here, we have to have our posts 30 inches in the ground because of frost heave. All mine on my chainlinc have been dug down 36 inches and concreted in!!! the people that built the house next door were being A..h.les and when I asked them to be careful of my fence they waited and when I turned my back, they slung around on a bobcat to bump it and snagged a hose someway. The guy got sprayed from head to toe!!! I never laughed so hard in my life!!!

      • Claire

JoeH–That is funny!! People can do crazy things at times and you wonder if they have any common sense. We always have an inch of space between the boards. The posts are 2 feet into the ground. The fence was only 2 years old last summer. One day during a storm we had winds up to 60 miles an hour and the posts snapped off at ground level. The sections were laying outward. It was like a bomb went off inside the fenced-in area. I had to walk all my dogs for 3 days until the fence was replaced. Boy, did I get my exercise! But I guess I should not complain, it could have been worse. Got a new roof again, and new picture window plus windows on the southwest side. I remember one year we got hit–my weddings rings were in the bathtub and a tube of lipstick was rammed into the wall. Boards became arrows and stuck into the walls. Eggs all over the kitchen. OH!! I remember one year we got struck by lightening-took out the TV in the one of the bedrooms, and cracked the foundation of the house on the northwest side of the house. It was weird. It split a big tree in half and traveled down the cable wire into the house. At least this is what the insurance adjustor said. Yikes! I always make sure I am prepared, if possible. Maybe it will be better this year.

Just a couple things to think about, and you can do it if you try real hard….. 1st… Why was a stimulas bill even needed after President Bush left office?… (hint)… It wasn’t because he left the enonomy in good shape….2nd…. The money the author of this artical leftout that the money paidback wasn’t paidback during President Bushs term…3rd. Talk about lying?… Didn’t president Bush tell us… Don’t worry, go shopping the economys strong and growing…was that accurate?…4th… Jobs are jobs… I don’t care if you want to call then goverment jobs or not and the people employed with those jobs don’t care either… The money will still go back into the economy….5th.. The author admitts he wrote this before Vice president Bidens ( tour)… Why not wait until you hear what he really has to say…..this recession is 100 % republican made no matter how you want to spin it and if you thought this economy would turnaround in just 1 years you’re delusional… I know President Obamas spending a lot… Mist ever, I also know that had the republicans not run this economy into the ground that President Obamas spending on a stimulas bill wouldn’t have been nessessary and he wouldn’t have had to spend his first year cleaning up after the last administration….I’ve seen where some of you think this recession started with the election of the 2006 democrat congress… B.S.. Name an economic bill they past?… Also president Bush had veto power… And the republicans called that democrat congress the Do nothing congress because they past the lest bills of the last 20 years… Can’t blame them.. I’m sure you’ll try anyway…..and lastly….I’ll admitt Obamas the biggest spending president… But do you know who the 2nd and 3rd biggest alltime spenders are….. Yep, Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush…. And at least president Obamas spending is on America, President Bush sunk trillions down the empty rathole in Iraq… Fighting his personal war in Iraq…

    • Louise

You hit the nail on the head right on!
I am relly tired of the whinners and their complaints.
Perhaps President Obama isn’t perfect, but neither are the whinners.
We gave George Bush 8 years to ruin this country.Let’s give Obama a chance to get it right.
Whinners remember this all started under the Bush era.

      • John

Sure let’s give obama a chance, what do you think? Another 3 years or perhaps another 7 years.

        What a moron.

They forgave FDR 10 years of Depression. And they still think he is a Hero.

      • Claire

DaveH—I am glad you brought this up. I have heard that FDR was the greatest president that ever lived. I have heard this my entire life.

      • DaveH

Yes, those that worship Marx would like FDR.
You probably never heard of it, but there was a nasty economic collapse in 1907. There also was a collapse in 1873 and 1893. They called them “Panics”. The reason they were relatively short-lived was that government didn’t get involved.

      • Claire

DaveH–Way back when it seemed like a lot of the older people were the ones that liked FDR. Somehow they thought he worked wonders for America.

      • Joe H.

        Claire,
My father was born 1909 and I never heard that from him!! Course I never saw him miss a day of work, except when in the hospital. I can still see him at the shop when I was about ten sitting at the welding table welding Jigs N fixtures with a cast on his leg. When he was done with the jig, he would stand up on bad leg and all and put the 100 pound jig on a cart!!! After that year was over his arms were almost as big as my leg now!!! I learned my character from him. Like I said, I could be on full disability right now but I can’t bring myself to do it!!! That is also why I won’t support a liberal EVER!!!!

Yeah, and remember, if Al Bore had won his own state of Tennessee in the 2000 election, he would have won the presidency outright. Perhaps the good people of Tennessee knew some things the rest of us didn’t know.

You bet we did! We’ve know what a lying farce he is for a LONG time! Al-the-Earth’s-core-is-millions-of-degrees-Gore is an embarrassment to my state! He gets goofier all the time & as far as I’m concerned, he should be imprisoned for fraud. He’s become a multi-millionaire, not from hard work (his family was wealthy, as well) but from the millions of dollars he’s received by deceiving the entire world with his, first, “Global Warming” hoax & now that the globe is cool, “Climate Change” hoax! I honestly think the 2000 loss finally pushed him over the edge!

I believe in capitalism & have no problem with people being as wealthy as they can possibly be if they earn it legitimately, but he’s no different than Bernie Maddoff! If for no other reason than Pukelosi taking all her friends & families to the “Climate Change Conference” joke, Gore owes us millions of dollars to pay us back for that worthless shopping trip!

Hint, Phil, the Democrats controlled the Congress the last 2 years of Bush’s Presidency. And Hint, they controlled the Senate 4 of those 8 years. And Hint, the Congress passes all laws and spending bills. The President can only veto them, which Bush should have done, but with Democrats controlling Congress he would be vetoing bills constantly, and many of the vetos would probably have been overridden.

Obama wants to spend his way out of this recession. Adolf Hitler attempted the exact same. Lets hope the results aren’t the same.

    • http://PdersonalLibertyDigest The Buck in Alaska

Wow, are you ever wrong. The donkeys did take over the congress in 2006 and tried to ram through the same bills they have now been successful under Obama. By the way, Obama was one of those who was in the Senate at the time. Can you find one bill that Obama wrote himself? No, because he didn’t write any, during his entire time in the Senate.
Obam keeps saying he inherited a mess, well, it was not 1 Trillion like he says. it was $450 billion (or there about) and Bush did not spend more than all the other admenistrations in the history as Obama and many people say. He may have spent that much in two terms, but look what Obama did in his first six months (not 8 years), he authorized the spending of about $3 trillion! That is more than 9 times the amount Bush wasted as you said. The only problem that screws up your figures is that the money Bush authorized under TARP (with the Congress), has nearly all (90% plus) been paid back with interest. So, subtract the entire TARP expenditure. Also, the WMDs that Sudam had hidden have now been found. I understand that more than 500 tons of the stuff has been shipped to Canada mainly to prevent the terrorists from getting their hands on it. Any questions about why Bush went into Iraq if this doesn’t explain it?
Wake up! You elected this socialist mouth piece for Moe, now we have to deal with him in the next election. Kick the bums out!

I read that Barry inherited a mess from GWB almost every week from someone who is still with “EYES WIDE SHUT.”

Yet has of these persons who suport Barry ever stopped to think about the utter mess Barry and his CZARS as well the Congress and Senate are making right now, and every day from his firts day in office this has been the case.

Its obvious that Barry nor any of his Gang of Thugs can tell the truth, I think we can all agree that a bigger lyre and gang of thugs has never had so much control over the United States, no matter who one wants to blame someone else, there is no one else that comes close, not even any ten others come close.

So now the question is what will the land scape of 2012 look like to the person who enters office at that point in time.

As it is now with no more spending nor crazy political antics by Barry and his crew of thugs.
Whom ever gets to the WH will have a $20 TRILLION dollar PLUS def.
More in line with about $25 Trillion.

Unemployment will be at record highs of 65% plus of the US population if not more in line with 70%. There will be NO JOBS left here, there will be no jobs but Government jobs. And due to the fact that there is NO tax base left to support these jobs even 70% or more of these Government jobs will no longer exist.

Social Security will not exist, Medicare will not exist, The amount of home forclosures will be well over 75% of all persons who own a home.
Tax’s will be at 95% plus, thats if you even have a job. Home owners will not be able to pay the taxs on their homes, thus the amount of home loss’s will be higher and more in line with perhaps 85%.

So will, we still hear about what a great job Barry did then by the ones even here that have the blinders on as the ship sinks deeper and deeper daily.
Or will it all still be GWB’s fault?

As it stands now even if your 100% totaly brain dead the light has to be coming on that Barry has done nothing at all from day 1 when he took office that has been to the advantage of the American People.
Thats with a Super Majority of Congress and the Senate.

Every bill he has pushed has been to destroy the very fabric and back of this nation, its not been baby steps, its massive leaps.
There is no one who can say with a straight face anything differant.

    • JOE SCOTT

AMEN YOU HIT IT RIGHT ON.

      Time,

You are right on the target! What you said is exactly what I see for our future & have tried to inform friends & relatives. My relatives are ALL conservatives & see some of this, but aren’t quite as passionate as I am! Most of the few friends I have (Tinwarble & I work 16-20 hours per day to not even make it so there’s not much time for us to have many friends) are oblivious to what’s going on because they won’t watch Fox even though most of them are conservatives. Drives me crazy!

      • Time

        USMadGirl,
You know the old adage you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.
What I find is many folks think that everything will just take care of its self. Thats how we have the current mess we face.

As to working Yea I know that horse, I love what I do and I come in contact with a lot of folks, not all of them thinking the same thoughts so I get a first hand look at how they think or lack of such.

What I have found is many just do the spin cycle about 20%; these people can’t be swayed, just to dumb for their own good.

The sound bite infomatic rhetoric, these types are about 55%, they have no idea why they think what they think. Its just easy for them.

But the positive point of this is when you take a few moments to explain things that hit them stright in the pocket, its wild how fast they start looking at things from a differant view point.

So my basic rule of thumb is this 20% of the US population is to stupid to live, and we would be far better off without them.
Sad I know but facts are what they are.

55% are willing to learn something new if someone takes a few moments to relate to them whats really going on.

25% are quite clear about whats going on and are mad as hell about it.

We can only hope that a “TRUE LEADER” is somewhere in the US that is not motivated solely by Greed, and has only the population of the United States in their mind and heart.
I pay that we have someone like that.

Blame it on Global Warming which doesn’t exist! I’m sometimes ashamed to admit that I am a scientist, but I have been arguing for at least 7 years, that the only place the Earth is warming is AT THE NORTH POLE!!!
The US and German Coast Guard in the summer of 2001 or 2002 found 13 or more ACTIVE VOLCANOES below the Arctic Ocean. These volcanoes have raised the temperature of the Arctic Ocean and of course that was filtered down into the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans just like the El Nino. Funny, Gore didn’t research nor Goggle such information before writing the Convenent Lie!
Blame it on Global Warming. By the way NASA says all the planets in our solar system which have ice at their poles have started melting. I expect someone to blame that on humans any day now. Better still, blame it on Gore, the inventor of the World Wide Web!

Joe was in Michigan touting how great the stimulus has been for our state.

Now granted they saved the UAW, saved the state, saved the jobs that are sucking the life out of our state – SUCCESS!

Not even the liberal bastion paper had the balls to lead with his story. They (Detroit Free Press, in case anyone cares) have gotten wise, every time they run a story touting how great the Democratic spending is, their readership declines.

What a farce this all is.

One thing the government has been telling us, since Katrina at least, is to “Be Ready.” Most people are ignoring the warnings, thinking that they only speak of hurricanes.

I, for once, am taking the government warnings to heart. Be ready. Whether we want to open our eyes or not, one thing is for certain, the middle class (non-government/non-union) is going down. And life on the other side is not going to look anything like life on this side.

Keep the powder dry, and the water purification/storage at the ready.

    • http://PdersonalLibertyDigest The Buck in Alaska

Right! Putting aside two years worth of food, water and other supplies is a very good idea. However, I don’t think more that 20% of our citizens have the financial ability to do that. I can barely put up two months of supplies and that after working 50 years at reasonably good paying jobs!

Wrong again, it didn’t take 8 years, it only took two as that is when the Democrats took control of the Congress. That is when the progressives made the banks give loans to those who could not afford them and we reaped the benefits of the housing market disaster. Two years, that is all it took of progressive policy to ruin a perfectly good economy. Learn your history.

All the people that have higher seniority than the people from the area get called back first then if there’s anything left, then they call you back!!!!
If you are talking about the mills around Cleveland Oh. forget it it’s a temp call back!!!

    • http://PdersonalLibertyDigest The Buck in Alaska

Clinton didn’t create jobs. What he did was to borrow several hundred million from the Social Security Trust fund, replacing that money with IOU’s which still haven’t been repaid. He used that money to balance a budget, the only one he ever had, and that my fellow Americans is why the Social Security Trust Fund will be broke before most of you will be old enough to receive back the money you have paid into the fund during your working life. In addition, there are millions of people now receiving money from the Social Security Trust Fund who have never worked a day in their life or have never paid a cent into the Fund! Guess what the Trust Fund is our money. We paid into it for 30 or 40 years and we are supposed to get it back at a level we paid into it. When the 20 to 30 million baby boomers retire they will find there is no money in the Trust Fund because the government could not be trusted to keep it safe! Welcome to the 21st century.

If only it did work! It didn’t, and most of America knows it. Barry will be a one term President. Too many people are suffering and even with all the shucking and jiving they are trying to spin, people know the truth.

    • Nancy from PA T

Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

People are suffering (and we have huge deficiets) because of what past administrations did: unfunded Drug program for senior citizens, out of control and unfunded spending on wars and overspending for the private medicare plans “Advantage Plans” – What has Obama done? – he hasn’t been able to do anything with legislation getting blocked by the lobbyists (6 insurance industry lobbyists per Congressional person.

Hopefully Obama might get his rear in gear and make the rich suffer a little. You do know that money doesn’t bring happiness. Health effect happiness so shouldn’t the govt support healthcare?

      • Mary in NJ

        Nancy,

You are so misguided. The government is not supposed to worry about your happiness, or your health. They are supposed to stay out of your way so you have the right to happiness, and you are supposed to take care of your self to have your own health. Should we tax payers pay for electricity for all since that makes us happy too? What about government mandated laughing sessions since laughter keeps us healthier? When will you progressives realize what the educated people in America already understand? The government gets in the way of individual happiness and freedom. Wake up!

      • buddhamaster

Dear Nancy, You are obsolutely correct when you say that less government is better than more government, But when less government have directly lead to the biggest financial meltdown by deregulations of financial laws by repelling/removing the legislations that was specifically designed to prevent such scenarios from happening… Then one must go back to square one. Surf to “http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-weissman/deregulation-and-the-fina_b_82639.html” for the facts. Deregulation was driven by the insatiable greed of bankers that decided they can also be risks takers to make profits without end by repackaging mortgages backed security to Institutions and Investors. It was a time of easy credits, the Bankers will lend to anyone who wants to buy a home with no background checks or proof of regular income. It was extremely profitable for the Bankers as long as real estate prices keep rising. A real estate bubble was created, fed by the rising real estate prices, Everybody was happy, the lenders were happy, they were making a lot of money, the borrowers were happy, they are living in their dream house, payments are affordable. However the bubble did not last forever, it started to colapse, the mortgage payments reset to unaffordable levels foreclosure becomes a reality, which lead to the biggest financial collapse in history. So clearly regulation of financial laws need be restored. Thus more government interventions.

      • Time

The rationale of bailing out the banks during the Financial Collapse by the Bush administration was based on the the premise that these Institutions were too big to be allowed to fail (file for bankruptcy, according to Wall Street Pit report as of Dec. 5, 2009 130 banks failed in the U.S.A. during the year 2009 ) because these institutions are financially interconnected, their failure will lead to total collapse of the U.S. economy and even drive the entire global economy under as well. And so it is cheaper to bailout the banks right away immediately than wait for the collapse of the U.S. econmy since it will become prohibitively be much much more expensive to bailout the entire U.S. econmy. Thus the Financial Banks bailout was top prioirty. So if the government has already invested tax payer’s money ($1.7 trillion dollars) to bailout the banks and the are in need of more tax payer’s bail-out money, the government can not refuse them, can’t they?

        Hey Joe;
Do you think there is a market for hamster pee? Do the liberal socialists snort it or drink it? I’m thinking maybe when the liberals kool aid runs out, we could buy hamster pee from budd, put some grape food coloring in it, and sell it back to the liberals. At the rate that biden, obama and the rest of the libs are swilling it, it won’t be long before there’s a shortage.

      • John

obama hasn’t done anything because he is inept. He is inexperienced his only credentials are as a community organizer… Not to mention his history of political ties and lack thereof.

You people keep bringing up the past. So the stimulus hast’ worked and isn’t working. So if GW is responsible for obama’s inheritance, then how do you explain obama piling on debt, ten-fold, over what he inherited from GW?

This new founded debt, these wars are obama’s. He should have thought of those responsibilities before he ran for office. Now he’s whinning like a baby and blaming the GOP. It’s obvious that he’s in over his head.

And the list goes on, what a bunch of idiots in that administration. And you people are blindly following those fools. Pelosi, Reid, Holder, Bidden, that’s the short list. The facts are overwhelming. I’m sure that DaveH has a repertoire of websites for the facts that you idiots ignore or perhaps you just can’t read or you little minds are beyond reasoning!

Stimulus, we’re going to need another Stimulus just to cover the costs of his healthcare reform that he’s poised to shove down our throats.

      • john

Wow, legislation getting blocked by lobbyists? You certainly don’t have a clue do you?

      • DaveH

“Hopefully Obama might get his rear in gear and make the rich suffer a little. You do know that money doesn’t bring happiness. Health effect happiness so shouldn’t the govt support healthcare?”

No, money doesn’t bring happiness. So, explain to me, Nancy, why do you want to forcibly take the money of others?

        And “make the rich suffer”?
You mean, Nancy, those nasty rich 1% of income earners that pay 40% of the income taxes? Sure we should make them suffer for having the initiative to educate themselves, work long hours, take personal risks that most of us won’t take, and provide real jobs for millions of people. Instead we should listen to you Liberals who have wasted your time and taxpayers’ money muddling through public schools, and then partying your life away instead of making something of yourselves. Now, you want free health care at the expense of the people who are making the sacrifices?

Not only is what you seek immoral (theft), but it doesn’t even work. Country after country has tried the Socialist experiment just to end up in poverty for their whole country. Oh, but at least everyone is equal! Except of course for the leaders who always enjoy the good life no matter how their citizens suffer.

What makes you think that someone who makes more money than you some how they owe you money due to their working just as hard if not harder than you?
Thats outright MARXIST thinking on your part.

The people who make money are not the problem, its GREED and ENVY, combined with stupidity based on the mindless rhetoric you get spoon feed daily by the media, MSN NBC, CBS, ABC, CNBC, MSNBC etc..

Ask someone who works 16-18 hours per day 7 days a week how their life is? You will find they share the same problems you do, they have the same feelings you do.
If we stop the ones who produce everyone will fail.
BIG Government is not the answer its the problem. Ask old Nancy PIGoSEE how much she made last year as I figure it was an cool Billion.

If your not making enough money, get a second job, learn a new skill or trade. Think outside the box.
I have worked for 35 years for 16-18 hours per day 7 days a week, yes I made a lot of money, I also have given a lot.
What I pay in tax’s is down right CRAZY. And I am not the only one who is sick and tired of all the doo do gooders that want a FREE RIDE telling me how I owe them something for their being lazy butt heads.

With all the new tax’s we have had added in the last year, I now work until September just to pay TAX’s for spoon feed Buffoons like you.
I am sick and tired of it.
The numbers are growing of people just like me who are sick and tired of Barry the arrogant pig and all his con artist Thugs. Ask Barry how much of his Baxter stock gains he plans on paying tax’s on, he made well over 9 million dollars last year while you struggled, keep in mind his wife did the same on her Baxter stock, think H1 N1 shots, you sad mindless little person.

When we who produce leave, who will you tax then?

        Nancy from PA T,

Regarding your comments “Hopefully Obama might get his rear in gear and make the rich suffer a little. You do know that money doesn’t bring happiness. Health effect happiness so shouldn’t the govt support healthcare?”…………………..

While government should facilitate a sound health care objective, it’s not the government’s job to “support” health care…let alone force others to pay higher percentages of their income to such a plan.

There’s enough blame to go around, including the fact that the majority of us are not consistent about our own health care initiatives….you know the ones we have more direct control over….more balanced eating, sleeping, exercise, and spiritual lifestyles. Maybe if we took a more active interest in what we do have control over, those [greedy] insurance folks you referenced would have to find other lines of work.

It’s hard to win over the folks that will have to suck up the additional costs, when we aren’t doing our own part. That seems to be the going theme lately….why should we do it ourselves?…When there’s someone else we can force it out of….like the rich you want to “suffer”. Just wondering if you believe stealing from others…because they have more….will make you happier?

I do hope Obama will get his rear in gear and move on [out of here] and he can take moveon.org with him.

The only responsibility the Federal Government has, constitutionally, is the security of this country. All the rest have been power grabs by those in Congress and the White House.

      • Fed Up Gal in NM

        American Citizen,

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. While I agree with you fundamentally, the point I was trying to make is…how our society has slowly, yet methodically encouraged a victim mentality….even as it relates to our seemingly unwillingness to be somewhat responsible for at the very least…our own basic health conditions (food, nutrition, exercise, and spirituality for example).

I agree about the role of government’s responsibility as you explained it, but I also believe the government could redeem itself somewhat by simply faciliating a sound dialogue allowing a sharing of information about both traditional and alternative health/medicine.

Actually NO, the government should be doing what the constitution says it is to do: Protect and defend our country and its citizens. The constitution does not indicate Health Care, Social Welfare, nor any of the many social programs which have become Entitlements. It does give the citizen the right to bare arms by saying that a militia is necessary and in order to have a militia, the citizen soldier must own and keep his own weapon (arms). That militia was authorized because the government has a tendency to burden the citizens with too much and a revolution is necessary to any free society. Don’t let the anti-gun lobby over power you with a large amount of “words” that the constitution doesn’t give the right to the citizens. Read it yourselves. Most people do not realize that the militia “Is made up of citizens who own their own weapons!” which was how it was done back then. Then British had taken away the private ownership of firearms and those who sot freedom recognized that the American Constitution protected that right. Thousands of them came to America from countries just like Britain. Thousands still come to America for the same reason. Let us not rest while people like Nancy and Harry try to change our Constitution!

      • http://savageheart.blogspot.com/ Silverdrake

The Constitution does not “give” any rights. It merely recognizes and guarantees rights that people have inherently as sapient beings.

And lest some yahoo decide to ask what rights a person has when faced by a mad, hungry bear, the person has the right to do his/her best to kill that bear and take it home to feed the family. Just as ever person has the right to defend his/herself against oppression, enslavement, theft, murder, and every other infringement of his/her natural rights.

The Constitution codifies those rights that all people instinctively know are theirs, while setting forth guarantees that everyone else will respect those rights by force of law. Where we’ve gone wrong is in thinking that some people shouldn’t be allowed to exercise their rights because we don’t like them. Guess what? If you don’t respect my rights, I don’t have to respect yours, and we quickly devolve into Hobbes’ “man in a state of nature.”

But guess what else? We still have the same rights. We have just stopped cooperating by respecting the fact that everyone else has them, too.

Thanks for bring up Biden’s stupidity and the Peter Principle. However, it goes further than that. I lived (35 years)in Delaware where Biden has been a burden for more years than I can remember. Back about 20 years ago, he ran for president! The first mistake he made was trying to fake an ascent from the State of Mass. Yes, he tried to sound like JFK and rumors were started that he was a bastard son of old Joseph (I think that was the elder Kennedy’s name).
Guess what, we citizens of Delaware knew too much about Biden and he didn’t even carry his home state! I have always wondered why the down state people kept re-electing him to the Senate. Obama selected him to counter balance his Socialism I suppose. Not much substance in that man!

You cited Evan Bayh above. Let me fill you in on why he quit, which is off subject, but its real. His quitting is a way to distance himself from Obama and these ultra liberal right wing anti American democrats that are controlling the White House and taking this country down the drain as much as they can before they are cermoniously kicked out in 2012, and they will be kicked out. Bayh has future plans to run, but this way he can avoid having what these guys are doing sticking to him, as he will be able to say that this is why he quit, because these guys are so whacked out. And its true, he is right, and they are whacked out. Also, he is smart enough to know that in mass the democrats are going to get voted out all over the country, because all the anti American rhetoric they are practicing has opened the eyes of millions, who arent going to take it anymore. 2012 cant get here quick enough though, as these cats can do a lot more damage in the next 2 years. Pray for these guys, that God will direct their decisions, they need all the help they can get.

You say that Evan Bayl quit because of Obama running this country into the ground. What plantet are you on. George Bush and his gang put this country into the ground and are still trying to destroy it. President Obama has done nothing but tried to work with the Republicans, Party of No”, and they still only look out for what is better for them and they are doing a very bad job at that. The Republicans have put this country into two wars that the country should have never been, drove the economy back to the Great Depression, created the biggest financial meltdown of our financial system, and run the automotive industry into bankrupty and drained our money surplus into a trillion dollar debt all within eight years.

How can anyone believe that President Obama did all of that in one year? Why would anyone want to put the Republicans back in office? I know why. They are the same people that are paying the Republicans to spread the lies about the President, the same people that are trying to block Health Care Reform, and the same people that don’t want Wall Street regulated, the insurance companies and banking industry.

      • Eve

RNorman, Obama doesn’t want to ‘work with’ Republicans or the American people. He wants to gain as much power as he possibly can. So many forget his speech in Germany where he proclaimed he would work toward a WORLD government with a World army to keep countries straight. As well as a police force as large as our army to enforce government rule in America. It amazes me that Germans said he sounded like Hitler and asked if American people had gone crazy, yet Americans didn’t take the time to listen to him or demand he give over his past records. He is only doing what he has threatened to do. He strives to create a communist society in America. All this is moot however since the American people will vote but the history books will reveal what a scam artist Barrack Hussien Obama is.

Gestapo type format. If thats to hard to grasp just read Orwell’s

As well, Barry has spoken countless times about a

Rnorman, Wake up and smell the coffee, your arguments are so week they can’t even hold up to a 5 year old.
Barry has done nothing but lie, and spend like he is on a drunken rage.

In 1987 we had a massive melt down that was in far worse than 2008, no one bailed anyone out, and look at what happened it all worked its self out, then along came the 1990′s.

Barry and his CAZARS – Congress and Senate have had the votes to RAM the HCR down the populations throats.
Yet thank God we still have some “TRUE liberals” only in the Congress that said NO DAM WAY.
Oh and these folks are in the Democratic party.

The word LIBERAL is not a bad thing, its true meaning is a very good strong American value as a matter of fact its the core belief of “FREEDOM.”

What has happened is the {PREVERSION} of the word by what can only be noted as “ULTRA MARXIST,” touting themselfs as LIBERAL, they are so far from being a true liberal that again even a 5 year old can see that.

Any one in Government that wants “MORE government controll” is not a LIBERAL, they are a (MARXIST.)
Get your histroy books out and read.

Until then you are welcome to say any mindless things you may wish, thats granted in the Bill of rights, under “FREEDOM of SPEACH,”
But after you wake up you may feel very dumb for ever making such ignorant statments.

Time, All good points but you can’t call todays government anything butsome type of hybrid containing elements of Marxism,Dictatorship, Communist,Fascist,Corporatism all Masquerading as Democracy.
It is scary to think that very similar financial and political cahotic scenearios existed in the past(hyperinflation, bubbles, busts, recessions freedom curtailments etc) and these led to world war.The US governments actions politically (selling arms to Tiawan,European missle bases etc) just might start a situation that would be beneficial for certain elements to benefit from World War.

        Rnorman,

Do you actually believe the deception you’re typing? How have you gotten to the point to think the things you say?

You are so ungrateful for Bush keeping us safe for 7 years after 9/11. Do you think Bush was supposed to ignore terrorists killing 3,000 of our citizens like Clinton ignored the first attack on the World Trade Center? Why do you think you have the right to say all the fictitious things you say without somebody beating the crap out of you & putting you in prison or just shooting you? It’s because men & women have fought & died for your right to say them.

The war in Iraq was necessary because Bush & everybody else had reliable ‘intel’ that Saddam had WMDs. Your liberals & leaders around the world said so as well. Just because they didn’t find them doesn’t mean they weren’t there! On July 6, 2008, the Associated Press reported that Saddam had 1.2 million pounds of concentrated uranium & devices that could be used in a nuclear weapon found in Tuwaitha. Sounds like potential WMDs to me! War is not a picnic in the park, but it is necessary to protect our country from people whose sole purpose in life is to kill us – all of us, even you! What do you not understand about that?

And our economy was doing just fine until the Dems took over the House & Senate in 2006. If you want to blame somebody for the financial breakdown, talk to “’Bawney’ the big gay boob” & his ‘wittle fwiends’! Progressives could turn a bucket of gold into donkey poop then try to pass it off on us as “health care or climate change or jobs”!

If you actually believe that Obama has “tried to work with Republicans” then you’ve been living in a cave for the past year! It’s difficult to correspond & interact through locked doors or being told to “sit down & shut up”! If the Republican Party WASN’T the “Party of NO” then we’d be in worse shape than we are now & they’d ALL be fired because about 75% of the American people don’t want any of the “big government” power impositions O-dumbo has to offer & the Repubs are “getting our message”!

Your “pres” can’t even get his OWN party to pass all the idiotic crap he & his progressive thugs are trying to shove down our throats. Remember, YOUR party has the ultimate majority! I guess you forgot that, living in your cave & all & not having access to media! Since you’re typing your comments, you must at least have a laptop so you should do some research to see how uninformed you are.

Since you LIBS are having such a difficult time “fundamentally transforming” THIS country into your “Progressive Utopia”, why don’t you just go the Europe or Venezuela or somewhere that your ideal government is already in place or is your main goal to destroy the country WE love! Or maybe we conservatives & all those evil big businesses that employ people, should just pack up & move to Mexico & start the United States of America over. I hear Mexico has “vacancies” because most of their citizens are already here illegally so you & your “pres” can try to support them & all of you who rely on the government for handouts. Oh, I forgot, you can’t survive without us or the big businesses because you wouldn’t have anybody to “steal” from!

      • American Citizen

He also used WMD on his own people plus our troops found shells in the sand that had traces of Sarin, a deadly poison, on them. He did have WMD, the big question has always been, where is it now?

      • buddhamaster

Ohhh! didn’t you know? Saddam with the wisdom of Allah, in the last minute decided to bury the WMD in the deserts of Iran, Where the U.S. could not possibly go in to find it. They need to invade Iran to do that. So Saddam pulled a good one over the U.S. while the were watching.

        http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2010/02/27/academics-on-what-caused-the-financial-crisis/?KEYWORDS=financial+meltdown

I trust that you do consider the WSJ is competent to report about financial matters, or you would rather reject the report as too bias one way or the other towards the financial banking establishments. Or the report being too technical in nature and don’t want to waste your valuable time on it.

        Budd, Budd, Budd!!!

        ‘Time’

The rationale of bailing out the Bank during the Financial Collapse by the Bush administration was based on the the premise that these Institutions were too big to be allowed to fail (file for bankruptcy, according to Wall Street Pit report as of Dec. 5, 2009 130 banks failed in the U.S.A. during the year 2009) because these institutions are financially interconnected, their failure will lead to total collapse of the U.S. economy and even drive the entire global economy under as well. And so it is cheaper to bailout the banks right away than wait for the collapse of the U.S. economy since it will become prohibitively be much much more expensive to bailout the entire U.S. econmy. Thus the Financial Banks bailout was implimented. So if the government has already invested tax payer’s money $1.7 trillion dollars to the banks and they still need more tax payer’s bail-out, the government can not refuse them can’t they.

        budd hamster

A link to a website will be sufficient, Thank you very kindly. if not then I shall assume it is just fiction?

        Budd hampster,
No I don’t want to do any of THOSE things, but I will question real hard the sources the WSJ used for the report. One was a past governor of the FED!!! The very participant that made it possible for Obummer to have money printed like wall paper!!! I’m sure THEY would cut their own throats and make a statement critical of themselves!!! that might cut off some of that billions in profits they made last year!!!
All the WSJ had to do with that report was to print what others had said and they weren’t employees of WSJ!!!

Hey, Budd. If Congress had the sense the gods gave a goose, they’d have used that “bailout” money to buy up all the failing mortgages. That would have A) removed the “toxic assets” that were causing the financial meltdown, B) saved the financial institutions from collapse, and C) saved the homes of millions of Americans.

However, it would not have been a huge glob of corporate welfare, which is all that the oh-so-anti-corporate Democrats have sent gushing forth like oil from the Deepwater leak ever since they got their latest stranglehold on political power. It also would not have sent those same millions of Americans into bankruptcy and homelessness where they are easy prey for those same Democrats to woo with “stimulus packages” and other bread-and-circuses pie-in-the-sky utopian promises that never appear. Or do appear and turn out to be yet more ravenous, gluttonous government predation upon the populace.

As much as I despise the Republicans and their corporatist/theocracist agenda, the Democrats have no interest in helping anyone do anything but become slaves to their elitist, power-addicted selves.

we have asked our selves and others where has he created jobs and for who he has not done anything for our country except make history for a black person to be in office and to put the U S in more debt the insurance is a hoax it is to help foreigners so they can get better health care that the United States Citizens does forget about the American workers and I know that there are some that is too lazy to work and they live off of the tax payers but yet there are others that really need it that can not get help with things without having to list their property and other things to me this is not right

The jobs he has created, are government jobs, to support the expansion of government that the democrats always make, and who do you think pays for all these government jobs? You and I, the tax payers. We do not need bigger government and more government controls, we need smaller government and less intrusion into the business and private sectors. Growing government is a hazard we cannot afford.

Folks ok here you go, Please all of you do yourselfs a big favor look up the history of Argentina, I know your all saying why?
Time, Why would this be of any help to us now or ever?

I want you all to see the parallels with US here in the USA now and Argentina in 1916, when they were one of the Richest countries in the world, they elected {Hipolito Irigoyer} to run the country under the banner of “CHANGE and HOPE,”

He was followed by Juan Peron, look at what these marvels did, Note every one of Barrys idea’s as well FDR’s ideas.

      Then look at Argentina NOW.

If you still think Barry is doing the RIGHT things after you look over the “great ideas” these two came up with.
All I can say is thats OUR FUTURE here in the United States, do you really wnat it that way?
