Wayne, I lived a number of years in Canada. It has big shiny new hospitals with all the latest technology and a rainbow of Doctor’s degrees from all over the third world. People needing critical MRI’s for brain tumors might only have to wait 3 or 4 months and hopefully
they haven’t died yet. Emergency room wait times are as little as 12 hours but if you’re bleeding all over the floor they’ll get to you a little quicker. So their Health Care system works just fine as long as you never need it.

Yes, we can learn a LOT from Canada such as how NOT to be free. How to have terrible, poorly run, super expensive healthcare where people die on waiting lists, and how to give up the liberties that our founders enshrined in the Constitution.

Just to reiterate, I have been self employed for all but one yr of my adult life,in other words, created my own work and income,unlike 99% of the rightwinger ranters here. You,like most rightwingers, make the mistake in assuming that because I care about the poor and disenfranchised when we have fatcats,like insurance ceo’s, making tens of millions a yr,that then I must be one of the lower class. Wrong!! You people typically assume that because most of you are selfish and don’t think outside of your little life..so if you’re doing well,it doesn’t matter that we have 50 million or so poor at the same time we have extreme and even obscene wealth in this country. You can’t even figure out that the huge gap in wealth affects all of you in ways that you’re blind to. Crime,taxes,healthcare,education….
Just so you know, I own my business, a home, a separate piece of land, 3 vehicles and a nice retirement nest egg, all from the fruit of my own brain and 2 hands.

I do admire your entrepreneurship in going into business for yourself. Just wondering how you would feel if someone else or even big government came in and dictated to you that you will have to give say a 30% discount to people who want what you have to offer, but don’t feel they can pay the price for a product or service they did not in any way plan for…but must have? I too own my own (modest) home, rental property, and some land back home. You did beat me however with the number of vehicles you own; I own only one vehicle, as I can only drive one at a time and it’s been paid off for about 7+ years…..and I did not purchase a new one under the recent cash for clunkers bail out, although I certainly could have qualified.

I’m proud (but not too proud) of what I’ve obtained in my life, however I am more proud of the fact that I’ve accomplished something while still helping others along the way. Maybe you just forgot to mention it, but I don’t recall you commenting on any help you’ve offered others while amassing your individual wealth, owning three vehicles and contributing to Gore’s global warming dynasty….be it , what it is (NOT) …in your scathing comment to me.
