Cheney Non-committal On Palin's 2012 Qualifications

February 18, 2010 by

Cheney non-committal on Palin's 2012 qualifications Former vice president Dick Cheney has been a vocal political commentator in recent months, focusing mainly on criticizing the Obama administrations’ foreign and security policy. However, when asked what he thought about Sarah Palin’s suitability to run for president in 2012, Cheney sought to dodge the question.

Appearing on ABC’s This Week last Sunday, Cheney was asked if the former vice presidential candidate was qualified for the job. He responded by saying that he had not yet made a decision as to who he would support in two years.

"Whoever it is [he or she is] going to have to prove themselves capable of being president of the U.S. And those tests will come during the course of campaigns, obviously," he said, quoted by CNN.

Cheney added that all of the prospective candidates today still have work to do to persuade Americans that they are up to carrying out "the world’s toughest job."

Earlier this month the former governor of Alaska delivered the keynote speech at the first-ever Tea Party national convention in Nashville, Tenn. A day after the speech, Palin, who is a new Fox News commentator, revealed that she was receiving daily policy briefings from advisers, and hinted she might run for president in 2012.

Explain Sarahs leaving her elected job as Govenor of Alaska before her term was up?.. That makes her qualified?… How so…?

    • susan

I believe Sarah left Alaska so the media would stop trying to destroy her family. She didn’t want the media to drag down Alaska too.

      • eyeswideopen

susan, so Alaska is so fragile, that they couldn’t deal with a little bad publicity? You are too funny. The woman wanted to make big money. Can’t fault her for that, however she can’t keep a commitment. What would she do, if she was Pres, and the name calling started? Quit?/// Yes, she would. She has a history of quitting.

      • cr747

susan,,A very true statement..Naturally if the news media gets some dirt,,they quickly turn it into mud..True that she didn’t want Alaska to be demonized by the news media,,so the best thing she could do was,”resign”,,She did the right thing:::As for her family the Democrats made a big deal out of her daughter,,and then all the news outlets started tooting their whistle,,and blowing it out of proportion,,The JEALOUS one on CBS,,Katie Curic thought she would really stir a stink,,and now CBS has lost a lot of news watchers..I am one of them,,can’t stand to even be in the room when she comes on..

Palin,, being the lady she is was just defending her family,,and Alaska;;You know I wonder how many in the Whitehouse,,and in the news media have illegitimate children,,and/or grandchildren.. Bet we would be surprised..

      • eyeswideopen

cr747, who cares about illegitmate? But I am concerned that by the time a women is 45, she should know that getting pregant at that age, is a big risk for a child to have disabilities. She admitted that it was not a planned pregancy, so she was careless and her child is paying for it. I can understand her daughter making a mistake, as she is a kid, but not many women over the age of 40 are accidentally knocked up, unless they are reckless and immature.

      • libertytrain

you are right eyes, we need pregnancy police -

      • coal miner

        Eyes,

I have to disagree with you on this one. There was was a recall on prophylactics, because of leakages in the products, accidents do happen.I don’t think it would be wise for women approaching middle age to take birth control pills. The high risk of strokes, blood clotting and other health factors, do increase with age.Palin may not have plan this one.

      • libertytrain

Coal Miner – exactly – things do not always go as planned – hard to believe that a woman wouldn’t understand that – if eyes is a woman.

      • eyeswideopen

liberty, we already have them, they are called Conservatives/republicans. Pretty soon, they will be dictating how many children we can have.

      • libertytrain

Eyes, from what I can tell, – from your comment, to me, it sounded like you were the pregnancy police with regards to your harsh comments about her getting, what did you say she was inept for getting “accidentally knocked-up” – – again, I can’t be that mean-spirited, and realize the body is a funny thing with regards to birth-control – but perhaps you have more insight on ALL WOMEN over 40 and have come to lecture us on our sometimes ignorance as women over 40. You claim to be a registered Republican in so many of your posts from Sept. Oct. Nov. – so I guess you must be the pregnancy police as you described.

    • Joe H.

      Phil,
Sarah Palin left her job as governor because a bunch of spineless, gutless libbies like you brought numerous frivolous charges against her to the tune of over one million dollars and she quit as she couldn’t give her all to Alaska and go to court every day! I might add she was found INNOCENT of all charges except one minor misdemeanor!!!! I wonder if your hero Obummer was brought up on as many charges that he could be found innocent? He’s about as innocent as the perverbial wolf in sheep clothing!!! Or in this case socialist clothing!!

      • cr747

Joe H,, we will find out about all his charges p r e t t y soon now..Don’t know whether it will be before IMPEACHMENT or after IMPEACHMENT..But his charges are a lot more serious than anyone can imagine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OH I FORGOT,,I CAN’T WAIT!!

    • Cel

      Phil,

You know why she stepped down as Governor.

So what are you saying about Evan Bayh leaving??

I look for Evan Bayh to run for office, not sure which office though.

  • http://gmail High Plains Pat

Phil the Recovery Stimulas Act did stimulate some rino republican government officals, but as to moving along the “shovel ready” projects, there was no movement, because there was not any projects ready. The officals had not moved the paper trail along yet and the theorist ovr educated wonks have never moved or created and thing but their jaws and paper. Oby’s crew are all professors or dreamers but don’t have a clue on how work is done. Gov. Palin has done more honest work than Washington eleits ever have. Of course Sheets Byrd has lit up a few crosses.

    • Joe H.

      High Plains Pat,
The only “shovel ready” projects that Obummer has produced are the ones people like tim and a few like minded ones have aquired. They involve walking behind Obummer and Biden with a shovel……..

    • Cel

      Pat,

That crew Obama put on his staff are like you said “boys” who went to school, read books and think they know everything and know nothing.

They do not care how much in debt we are or how much they spend.

Americans are so mad because they don’t have jobs, losing everything

and Washington is on one big spending spree.

      How crazy is that??

Our city is mad, they are hurting…and they have more time than ever

to read and research what is going on, before they had to work, but

      now….they know.

  • Phil

Myron… Exactly… I doubt if you even understand what you posted… But I’ll help you…. The people spoke … President Obama was elected by the people …it’s called democracy.. And in the best republican style you could come up with , you’ve avoided the question and you’ve avoided responsibility…I’m not at all impressed with your attempt at being “Folksy”….. Bottomline… The people did express their right…. We voted in President Obama.. You lost…your post is about as ignorant as I’ve seen in here… Just rambling nonsense…

    • cr747

Phil,,just like everyone of your post are plumb unrealistic;:I guess you think yours makes good sense then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • eyeswideopen

Phil, these people don’t believe in democracy. They only believe in one political party and one religion. They like wars as it let’s them feed on fear and gives them excuse for running up the military budget for their crony corporations who we subsidze with our tax dollars. These people are truly unAmerican. They demand respect, but fail to give it to others. School yard bullies sums up their attitudes and the self righteous anti-Christian actions are examples for younger generation to avoid. I can’t wait to see how the Tea Partiers and the Repubs split the vote and eat each other for lunch.

      • cr747

        eyes,,lmao!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Phil

Don’t forget… President Obama was elected by a majority of Americans and he was elected because the Republicans drove this country into an economic ditch….President Obama wasn’t elected because it was ” his turn “… He was elected because the republicans were horrible….and first you rightys need to face up to that fact…you’ve still had NO POLICY change….my problem with President is ” he’s still trying to include republicans”… It’s like trying to include foxes into guarding the chicken coop…ohhh Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh are not sources…

    • Cel

      Phil,

Go wash your mouth our and go to bed.

Your story is old…we don’t buy it….we don’t want to hear it.

We have seen the light…we know the truth…

You sir need to do that.

    • cr747

Phil,,elected majority eh?? Just where do you think that elected majority came from..Let me tell you:: The Democrats had a lot of dead people voting,,a lot of made up names,,a lot added an initial to their name,,and some even changed their last names..Now if you think that is HOG WASH,,it is..I talked to a black man,,and he told me that there was a bunch from Illinois that came to his home to see if he had voted,,he told them he had,,and voted for Obama,,Then they slipped him some GREEN BACKS and re-registered him again with a different Initial or last name,,as they did a lot of more people like that as I was told..So you see that is illegal,,and dishonest,,and screwing the AMERICAN PEOPLE..So that is how he got elected:::BY FRAUD,,AND CROOKS:::Just like what we have got in the Whitehouse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

      • eyeswideopen

cr747, what’s the difference between Obama and Bush getting elected. You think Obama stole election, and we have proof that Bush definately stole the election. So, we are even. Except you can’t accept the fact that America couldn’t take anymore of the bs the Bush admin was doling out.

Dear Phil, Seems there’s a whole lot o’ “assumin’ a’goin’ on, out there”. ‘t’only makes an “ass” out o’ you [u], not “me”. Lissin’ up, ol’ son, an’ I’ll enlighten you some. For you and all of the rest of you who use, for example, the derogatory pejorative “Teabaggers” for those who actually believe in self reliance, entrepreneurship and fealty to the intentions and concepts our founders put forth in both our founding documents and their written records, collectively known as “The Federalist Papers”, I give you these “Words to live up to”: “I am an American.” A non-hyphenated product of legal immigrants who willingly uprooted from their homelands to start anew in a search for a better life for not just themselves, but, most especially, for their posterity. Did they decide to stay in or move to Europe? Hell no! They looked around and decided that America’s promise of freedom to succeed or fail, based on your own efforts and abilities, offered a far greater opportunity for success for they and their families than the ingrained cast system of their homelands, wherein one is not supposed (nor, in many cases, allowed) to “Rise Above One’s Station” ever encouraged or offered. We have, until recently resisted the “womb to the tomb” mentality that permeates so much of Europa over the last half century or so, let alone the rest of the world’s numerous and various despotisms. They, our ancestors, also wished most fervently to escape the tyranny, soft or harsh, of their oppressive, anti-individualistic governments. If you’re so inclined to remain where you are, supinely depending on manna from “Big Brother”, that is your God given right. It is your right to choose giving up those unalienable rights He gave you. (It’s called: “Free Will”.) It is also your right to allow nameless, faceless others to choose for you what you may earn, where you may live, what products you may buy, how many of which and when and where you may do so. You may allow others to decide where you may go to school, live and work; how and when you will get to and fro on your daily rounds, as well as how much “Charity” you will fund with the sweat of your brow, and to whom it will be given in your government’s name. I, however, am an American – and I choose otherwise.

How?..

    • cr747

Phil,,since I am a Democrat I’ll answer that..They sure wouldn’t have gotten us over a trillion dollars in debt..Then we wouldn’t have to be worried about sending our soldiers over to a Muslim Country where the Muslim President will probably tell all the Muslims what move they are going to make next,,and get our soldiers killed,,or disabled for the rest of their life..I do not trust Muslim Obama as for as I can see him,,and I sure do not believe a word he says.. Tim, Phil, Norm and all of a similar ilk, pull up a stool and gather ’round the ol’ cracker barrel and set a spell. Feelin’ comfy yet? Here, take a swig of Capp’s “Kickapoo Joy Juice”. That’ll either settle you right down – mellow you out, so to speak, or fire you up. One or t’other. Now, unfortunately, it seems the rapidity of your rabidity belies reliability of your rectitude. That, “my good friends” (as they say in the worlds of politics and statecraft) is what is so disappointing. Ye claim the moral high ground, intellectual superiority and forbearance, yet, for some unfathomable reason, you devolve before our very eyes into that which you claim to despise. Why is that? Are you morally and intellectually superior beings, a more evolved branch of the family tree, or not? This inspiring mind wants to know.

Of course I would bet Norm and his friends are all Obama’s Zombie followers. Cheny has done something more in life than be and over educated slug who has always lived off of taxpayer’s money. Except when he was a drug dealer with a runny nose. Everything about dems. do is make us more like the EU and have never meet a government program they didn’t like. Don’t take my word for it..please research the polls on Who America blames for this economy…President Obamas only been in office 1 years and anyone with any common sense knows it’s going to take more than 1 year to fix the damage done by your party … And I know you’ve been waiting for the chance to say” how’s that hopey changie” thing going… Well it’s going fine.. But like I said,it takes more than 1 year… Ask me that in 3 yrs…and again… Name 1 change in policy that the republican partys made from the policys that got us where we are…I don’t think you can fo it… In fact , all you can come up with is silly slogans like Palin tried to bait Vice President Biden with…. Asking him if she could call him “Joe” just so she could say,” Say it ain’t So Joe”… That’s all you have…no policy, just derail the President…..once again… President spending( which you call socialist spending) is on America… What did you call that wasted spending on Iraq?…and I don’t just hangout on liberal sites…I go out of my way to post on rightwing sites…why would i want to be on a site that just agrees with me… It’s a shame the hate you have for anyone wanting a better America… Ratchet up your hate… President Obamas showing signs of sucess …. Amazing someone so dumb . . . can write a book, sell millions of copies and draw a large following . . . but I know, those illiterate folks just don’t know better.

How’s the hopey/changey thing working out for you?

      • susan

As things are now, I’d like to see a Mitt Romney for Pres. and Sarah as VP. They don’t insult other people and both have experience running a business, Both were very good Governors and saved their states millions. That would be truly amazing..Non offensive people who are fiscally responsible and have brains..Hmmmmm…

      • cr747

eyes,,that is pretty SLICK to be smart enough to write a number one selling book..Think you could write one??? Well maybe asking to much since you can’t seem to get all your comments straight::That was a dumb question to ask an illiterate person,,wasn’t it?????????????????

      • eyeswideopen

Good news on the war on terrorism and economy fronts is bad news for republicans… They’re Only goal is to discredit President Obama at any cost to America…..ask any Republican what policy change they have diffrent from Bush & Cheney and you hear the sounds of crickets and stammering … They have nothing…just the same old tax cuts for the top 2% which for some reason they believe they should be paying instead of those that could pay and feel no economic pain at all, then they still want deregulation so big business, banks and lenders could once again drive the economy off the road…America will start to wise up to them real soon…you can’t keep slamming President Obamas efforts with no message if your own…Glenn Beck?… He’s a typical rightwing nutcase…. And once more…. Run Sarah Palin…you rightys better ratchet up the hate…

    • Dale

Earth to Phil . . . the economy is running off the road as we speak . . . did you ever spend yourself to prosperity? The wheels will fall off next year . . . Comm Real Estate, Mortgage Default and high unemployment are not going away.
What caused the collapse . . . can you say “Comm Reinvestment Act” . . . 1999 . . . trillions in worthless mortgages fenced all over the world . . . Bush actually tried to stop Fannie/Freddie TWICE!! . . . but the Bamster, over Christmas gave them a blank check.

When you inherit a disaster, turnaround is not overnight. Look at Reagan’s first term record.

      • Joe H.

        Norm,
The biggest problem Obummer has is that he obviously has no financial experience. He hasn’t learned that spending more and more and more isn’t the way out of a budget crisis!!!!

      • Michael J.

        Norm,
“That One” inherited squat! The day after the election, everyone in the country had an Oh My God moment and the effect on the economy was that of turning off a light switch. We’ve been on a down hill road to hell ever since. Those people like myself who saw through this imposter even before he was elected, told everyone that would listen that he never intended to fix anything. That he intended to instead tear it down so that it might be resurected in the glorious light of Socialism. He hasn’t proven me wrong so far.

      • Norm

        Michael J
Short memory. You are forgetting it was Bush and his treasury secetary who pushed through congress the Tarp funds. Candididate McCain was also in full support.

      • eyeswideopen

Norm, don’t forget, that it is ok, for one guy to give 800billion to Wall Street, but it is not ok, for the next guy to give 800billion to the Main Street. You must have forgotten that this is now the United Corporations of America. lol

      • cr747

Norm,, the disaster started as soon as Obama walked into the oval office..He said damn,, never had so much money to spend,,wow I’m going to spend,, spend,, spend.. WOW this is fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Norm

        Nonsense!

      • DaveH

        Yes,
        Let’s look at Reagan’s record.
        Inflation Tamed.
The beginning of the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Unemployment declined from 7.5% to 5.3%.

But then, horror of horrors, Reagan expected people to work for a living. Such an ogre.

      • eyeswideopen

DaveH, I responded earlier, apparently “they” didn’t like the fact that I pointed out that you were wrong. In 1982 the unemployment rate was 10.8%. Over an 8yr period of time it was 7.5%. Key words 8 yr period of time. You certainly are not inferring that Reagan was responsible for the fall of the Soviet Union, that is an outright lie. Reagan, with Paul Volkers help caused an intentional recession with the blessing of Wall Street to stop the inflation. But you need to remember that Pres. Reagan had a Democratic Congress who worked with him for the good of the country and didn’t try to make him fail, even though they didn’t like the trickle down theory. That trickle down theory was attacked by your infamous Mises Institute, by the Cato Ins. chairman. see http://mises.org/story/1544
Appreciate you sending me to the Mises site, very informative. Was very surprised that he was totally against Reagan and his economic policies.

      • Get it right.

Dale, get in the real world, you are lacking in knowledge. Do you think the only mortgages in the world are through Freddie and Fannie? Why wouldn’t the Republicans listen to their leader Mr. Bush? SO, you are saying that the repubs are responsible as they didn’t do what their Pres. wanted them to do? Finally an admission of culpability. YEP, THOSE DARN REPUBLICANS WOULDN’T DO THE RIGHT THING THAT THEIR PRESIDENT WANTED. TOO BAD, WE COULD HAVE AVOIDED THIS MESS, IF THEY WOULD JUST HAVE LISTENED TO THE CHIEF!!!!! Too funny for words.

      • eyeswideopen

Get it right, they won’t respond to you. They can never admit that they didn’t do something right. Bush, had a Republican Congress who passed the Medicare bill, that he didn’t like, and refused to address the fiscal mess that was looming… WAY TO GO REPUBS!!!! He also wanted to address the immigration situation, but yet again, the party in power didn’t want to.

    • http://Don'thaveone Sally

I hope you are happy with your state of affairs. Which trough do you feed at? The top 2% already pay the most taxes. Just wait until all the Bush tax cuts are gone. That’s right take from the small busines owners and give to those who don’t work or work just enough to claim earned income credits. I don’t know what it is up to this year, but did you know that someone making 28,000 a year, say having a federal withholding of 2,000, and has (then) 2 dependents (don’t have to be their own children, actually in 2007 received a refund of 4000.00. So don’t give me that bull about the tax breaks for the rich. I worked for Liberty Tax service as a Tax Preparation Expert and saw who paid what.

      • Norm

        Sally
The top 2% of taxpayers are not small business owners by any stretch of the imagination. The top tax rate is 35%, and you can be damn sure that the multimillion dollar yearly cats have more loopholes than a knitted sweater. When Ike was president, incidently, the max tax rate was in the 90% area!!
Even Warren Buffet, one of the richest men in the world, only paid at a 15% rate because most of his income is from capital gains. He said, with much embarrassment, that his housekeeper paid at a higher rate.

      • cr747

Norm,, you keep on believing that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • DaveH

Apparently those “loopholes” don’t do them much good, Norm, since the top 1% of wage-earners pay 40% of the Income Taxes in 2006. That’s their fair share? My guess is that they don’t get any more “protection” from the government than the bottom 1% (who pay nothing) get.

        http://www.heritage.org/research/features/budgetChartbook/Top-10-percent-of-income-earners-paid-71-percent-of-federal-income-tax.aspx

      • Norm

        DaveH
If your not very rich, your very naive.

      • Fed Up Gal in NM

        Norm,

If true (about Buffet’s housekeeper), I think she’s the exception rather than the rule. If everyone paid their fair tax share (no loopholes and everyone paid for examaple 10% tax) then people would not be so angry.

There are too many who claim to be at or near poverty level, pay no or very little tax, yet have all the newest toys and amenities that many others who supposedly make much more don’t purchase!

Stop the emotional blackmail; it’s a lame attempt at masking typical FLL behavior as something good. It’s still stealing….no matter how you cover it!

        Fed Up Gal

      • eyeswideopen

FED Up, do you agree with the rich who are hiding their money in off shore accounts? Is it right that they reap the benefits of this country and avoid paying taxes?

      • Claire

Eyes–you make a strong point here. There are some people that will do anything to avoid paying taxes and then other people get stuck footing the bill.

      • Fed Up Gal in NM

Eyes – Not sure this will post in the correct order; there was no “reply” button to click on.

Stealing is stealing. The “rich” you refer to and hiding their money take a big gamble; if they get caught, they may end up losing more than they tried to hide…and if so, they and they alone should be accountable.

The difference between them and the government thieves, is the rich thieves are just criminals who get caught…..and the government thieves are masquerading as helpers of mankind as they promote their “taking” a higher percentage of “others” money…as something good! They are never accountable, because they’ve suckered all the FLL’s into their cause.

No one on the FLL side has even attempted to answer this question: If a tax base is needed, what is so wrong with expecting every person of working age and residing in this country, to pay an equal percentage of tax? I’ve said it before and I guess I’ll just have to keep saying it….5, 10, or 15% of nothing is nothing; 5, 10, or 15% of a lot is a lot more. What is so hard to understand about this? If there was such a fair tax, I would support going after those “rich” people you claim are the only ones trying to get over on the system…but I also expect those not paying anything in or less than their fair share, while taking from the trough… to be accountable as well.

        Fed Up Gal

This is priming the economy…..stimulas….do you even understand what stimulas means?…. You can just ignore it and the failed banks and lenders get better… Doesn’t work like that…. What airline do you fly for? I don’t want to put anyone I care for in your hands. Let’s just name two little things that your boy bushie brought to fruitation. 800 Billion Medicare Advantage Act, non-funded, which means NOT PAID FOR, and two wars. Let me see, 800 billion is very close to one trillion isn’t it? Two wars which have cost 750 Billion and counting, but he didn’t care,. none of the repubs even thought about balancing a budget. You are living in that space you fly in. Just give us back that money for Iraq and Medicare and this country wouldn’t be in bad shape. You do remember Reagan don’t you? He had horrible fiscal problems and even had to break the Republican pledge of not raising taxes. The unemployment rate was 10.2 % with him. But he was lucky they increase the SS taxes and the SS base was also increased, so he had some additional revenue to draw on. But at least he wasn’t killing our kids for no reason.

      • cr747

eyes,,I don’t fly for any airlines, I have my on personal plane..Billions comes before trillions..Now you take Obama he is not smart enough to know the difference,, but he has gotten us into the trillions,,like close to four trillion::: The 10.2% unemployment rate is where Obama has put us,,Like now somewhere around 9.7%.. When Reagan went into office the unemployment rate was at 7.5%, and he lowered that down to 5.3%..Think you need a new method of getting your history right,,and while at it keep up with the news of today..You are out of touch with the political agenda that’s going on around today..
Just stay on here,,and someone will help you along,,and keep you informed::They say it’s bad to be senile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • eyeswideopen

cr747, see link above, Dave says the Mises Institute is the all knowing authority. You are wrong, unemployment was at 10.8% in 82. You need a little research. His average after eight years was 7.5% Of course you are trying to compare one year of Obama to 8 yrs of Reagan. Silly comparison, and not really fair, but then again, your party is used to mis-stating facts aren’t they?

      • cr747

eyes,,you mean Obama did in one year what Reagan did in eight years..My Gosh,,by that then,”IF,” Obama stays eight years,,then no one would be working..That’s sad:: The figures on Reagan are wrong.. The unemployment rate never went over TEN percent..Wish I could say that about Obama..Dang he’s fast,, 10.2% or was it 10.4%?? (Someone just told me it has been 10.4% with Obama) 10.4% in his first year..Boy that sure is scary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • eyeswideopen

cr747, nope, Obama, came into office while we were losing 700,000 jobs a month. It didn’t start when he took office. Facts, baby, that you can’t change. Your boy Reagan wasn’t that hot, take a look at this link. Written by the chairman of the Cato Institute,
        http://www.lewrockwell.com/rothbard/rothbard57.html
He basically is stating that Reaganomics was a bust. You need to find someone else to idolize. Let’s recap: Reagan 8 years, Bush Sr. 4 years, Bush jr. 8 years. So, for the past 28 years, we have had Republicans running the country for 20 of those. Yet, you try and blame the Dem’s for all the problems, were you guys asleep or drugged out during the last 28 years? You Repubs and Conservatives own this mess and rightly so.

She’s dumb. When she was being prepped for her vice presidential debates/interviews, she scared her “handlers” with her total lack of knowledge on any subject.

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

At least she knew how many states comprised the US as opposed to Obama who didn’t have a clue and instead used 57 the states of Islam. At least she had been not only a mayor but also a Governor and had taken on big business and squashed them, and sold the airplane (she should have sole it to Pelosi). I am so glad she is down to earth instead of an arrogant politician. I would rather have someone who couldn’t read a teleprompter and give great speaches but speaks from the heart and experience. I had to laugh when they were downing her experience – Obama had ABSOLUTELY NONE. After watching all of this and researching for myself the credentials of the candidates, I voted for the McCain/Palin ticket because the other absolutely scared me to death, especially since he was a muslim. All you had to do was read his book and listen – had the tables been turned and McCain and Palin run on the Demo ticket and Obama on the Rep ticket, we wouldn’t be blessed with his sorry a_ _ today. But that is life!

I know, Norm, we should forgive his lack of knowledge of the United States, since he wasn’t born and raised here.

DaveH,,that’s for sure::I am beginning to wonder if he was maybe hatched instead of being born..He won’t prove he was born!!!!!!!!!!

Daveh, why yes, let’s reward stupidity, like Palin not being able to keep Iran and Iraq seperate in her mind or her speech.

    • cr747

Alfred and Norm,, You have got Palin confused with Obama..What both of you stated fits Obama and his pet sheep to a T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Don Tremaine

I think that Sarah would make a great president. I like her policies her beliefs, her attitude about a great number of issues. It is my opinion that we would be a lot better off today if Obama lost the election. It is also my opinion that if Sarah was president we would be even better off. She is a Reagan conservative, to me that speaks volumes about her values and opinions.

    • Get it right.

Don, dude poor old Reagan, wouldn’t even be accepted by the radical right. He passed abortion legislation in Calf. Didn’t do squat about deficit, granted 3 million illegal alliens citizenship, raised taxes, right after lowering them, was responsible for the Saving and Loan crisis which cost us 123 billion dollars, he increased military spending by almost 40% during a non war time frame. He couldn’t be elected dog catcher using the Conservative litmus test of today. You people are hypocrites.

      • Michael J.

        Get it right,
Dude, I bet you can’t even pass gas without a slip of the tongue!
Make no mistake,if Ronald Reagan were alive today and was allowed to run for president, he would win a landslide victory. But you just keep on a tryin tho, your words er purdyer than bovive genatalia.

Be hard for Reagan to run for President to day But that’s how Obama got elected was by a lot of dead people voting

      • eyeswideopen

ddc, But why would it be hard for him to run? Because he was for abortion, legalization of immigrants, or because he grew the deficit by 189%? Or is it because he just wouldn’t be radical enough?

      • jim

EYES, Reagan was Pro- Life. The reason he wouldn’t be able to run now is because he is dead( in case you missed it) just like some of the voters ACORN registered and had vote Dem.

      • eyeswideopen

Jim, you need to read about the Ca. law that Reagan signed into law. It is called the Therapeutic Abortion Act. Four months after signing it, he then decided that he was pro-life. WHAT HE MADE A MISTAKE? No, say it ain’t so. How easily you forgive someone who had such a big impact on abortion. Hypocrites.

      • jim

Eyes, It’s OK to realize you made a mistake and try to make amends. It is the Christian thing to do to forgive someone who is sorry for there actions, not hypicritical.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

No way Don – Sarah would not be able to sleep through many sessions. Her diarrhea of the mouth would not permit it. She gets angry and uses the excuse that no one has the right to criticize her son (she’s right – he’s a special little guy) but she sure tosses him around like a sack of potatoes to show what a good mama she is. Nice pity prop huh?

      • cr747

Dee D,,you are completely off line here.. Palin is a very smart young Lady::A lot more sense that Obama to be Commander and Chief..Obama is lost as a goose when it comes to making decisions,, especially on fighting war issues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Chuck Bear

Thank God Dick is still around to kick a little dirt into Obama and Bidens face. When Obama ran for office he promised change hope and a better world. blamed Bush for everthing if Obama had smelly armpits
it was Bush who cased them to stink, after a year in office Obama still blames Bush for all that is going wrong in Washington and in the country. Its not Obama’s bad policys our his poor decision making or the fact the Biden is a total moron and a screw-up. The Tea partys rock we all need to get out there and take back America before its to late. Obama is going to sell the Whitehouse to china and then tell us all it a stimulus package.

    Matt.

    • Tim

      I offer the following remarks:

Dick Cheney digs up dirt, because that is all he is good for. That is why his approval rating is below 20%, which is even worse than the Congress.

You complained about the stimulus bill. Well, many economists have stated that had the stimulus bill not been approved, that the economy would have been a heck of a lot worse. Sure, the unemployment rate is about 9.7%, which is way too high, but it would be much higher without a stimulus bill. Also, about 1/3 of the stimulus bill was tax cuts, something republicans usually support. The only reason they don’t applaud this, is because the stimulus was passed by Democrats. The other 2/3 of the $787 billion from the stimulus bill is for infrastructure projects, putting people to work (like police, teachers, etc), funding extended unemployment benefits for the 9 million who are unemployed, and stabilizing state governments, which are having problems balancing their budgets, due to the recession. So, it’s fair to say that the stimulus bill was a success.

Obama has every right to blame former president Bush for the mess that he inherited. Bush did the following things:

      1) Started two wars (Remember his “Mission Accomplished” banner?)

      2) Got us into two recessions (the one that started in 2001 and the one that started in December 2007)

      3) Spied on Americans and violated our privacy rights

      4) Practiced torture on terrorist detainees

      5) Had a CIA agent fired (Valerie Plame), because her husband opposed the Iraq War.

      6) Never vetoed any Republican spending bill from the Congress, thereby causing the Clinton budget surplus to evaporate

      7) Gave tax breaks for the rich, helping to explode the budget deficit.

      8) Had some U.S. attorneys fired, because they didn’t pass Bush’s political litmus test

Republicans are all incompetent! All of them deserve to be voted out of office in November!

      • Dale

        Tim . . . you have a vivid imagination.

        Valerie Plame . . agent . . . she worked in the office . . . outed by a member of the State Dept . . FACT!
Started 2 wars??? Only in your mind Tim.
Never vetoed any spending . . . that’s the Pres’s job Tim . . but you got me on that one.

I take it you’re thrilled with the present gang of thieves though!!

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

Dale, you know you can’t tell a liberal facts. They can’t stand that because then in most instances they have no rebuttle. However, I also want to point out a fact. The stimulous did not fund the extension of unemployment unless the dems spent all that money also. Unemployment is funded on two levels by employeers. They have to pay state unemployment and also federal unemploymnet. Federal unemployment is filed and paid once a year and is based on each and every employee the business had for the year’s gross earnings on Form 940, therefore the president like Bush did after 9/11 can extend unemployment for an additional 26 weeks. So get off it.

      • DaveH

        And Tim says:
“Sure, the unemployment rate is about 9.7%, which is way too high, but it would be much higher without a stimulus bill”.

And I say if we voted out all the Democrats, we would have the biggest economic boom in this country’s history. Prove me wrong Tim.

Is that the kind of flawed thinking that passes for logic in the Liberal world?

      • Get it right.

DaveH, Just what are you proposing that the “only correct party” in America do with all these awlful, stupid, tax paying Dem’s? Do you want to just round them up and kill them? Didn’t your mother teach you about generalizing about people or issues? I thought you were college educated? If your “party” has alot of people like you as members, no wonder they haven’t grown since the 70′s. You are so biased, it is obvious that someone who was a Dem, somehow harmed you. You want us to believe that the Libertarians would be fair and equal but the hate you have towards a political party makes me wonder about the gays, minorities, disabled, non-educated, you know, all those who are different, just how would you treat them? I suspect that you and your party members would turn on people, soon as you got control. You can’t even show respect for another point of view. In addition you use name calling like a weapon. Usually children resort to that type of communication.

      • Michael J.

Dale, maybe you should read more. Don’t you remember Cheney’s buddy Scooter Libby doing jail time? Just more Conservatives who don’t take responsibility for anything that they or their bed buddies, the Republicans, do wrong.

      • Michael J.

        EWO,
Your mind playing tricks on you again? Dale didn’t mention anything that would deny the fact that Scooter Libby was incarcerated. I guess those mid seventies TV commercials were right when they predicted bad trips and chance of chromazone damage?

      • eyeswideopen

Michael, it wasn’t someone in the State Dept who leaked her name. It was Cheney’s boy, Scooter. It was all retaliation against her husband, as he was telling the truth about the Iraq war, and how we were misled about the WMD’s that weren’t there. You did mean chromosome and not chromazone didn’t you? Of course maybe those 70′s commercials got to you too. lol

Hi Dee D, What reliable source did you get this information from? this is the first I have heard of it.

      • cr747

And worst of ALL the IDIOT DEMOCRATS, Whose ratings are way below the REPUBLICANS:::Sounds as though the Republicans have an advantage here,, probably because they are a lot smarter.. Yea Tim, and now Biden And Obama are trying to pat themselves on the back trying to take credit for all the good that Bush/Cheney did..How absurd can they get??

    • Cel

      Chuck,
You are not the only one who is sick of hearing Obama blame Bush.
That man will never be the man President Bush is…he will never have the respect Bush has.

The media made Bush out to be this monster…..and dumb people who can’t think for themselves listened to them.

Look, how you being a liberal can say anything with the people in your party is beyond me.

Man, look at these tax cheats, that is enough there….do you pay your tax? darn right, so do I…

      google his staff…….good gosh…they are all crooks…

You need to keep your mouth “shut” with a family like that.

      ****

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Cel. Bush was too stupid to even qualify as a monster. Just a failure at everything he tried to do and his own party (CHENEY) used him as the fall guy to accomplish their goals. He did however learn just a tad while vacationing at the taxpayers expense during his 8 year free ride.

  • Norm

Cheney’s opinion is about as useless as boobs on a bull. But even he, in his infinite misconceptions, has reservations about Elie Mae.

    • Michael J.

      Norm,
First you state that Cheney’s opinion is as useless as a transgendered bull and then in the next breath seem to place respect in his non comittance on Sarah Palin. So which is it? Do you value Dick Cheney’s opinion or not?

P.S. You misspelled Ellie Mae, I thought you Progressives were the educated class?

      • Norm

        Michael J.
Let me explain. My point was that even an idiot wouldn’t commit to Sarah Palin.

      • DaveH

        We can see that Norm.

      • Michael J.

        Norm,
I can’t help noticing that you did not deny being a Progressive.

    • DDC

Norm, and Obamas and bidens opinions are as useless as B___s on a brass monkey. They both wake up each day in a new world

    • Cel

      Norm,
You need to read Dick Cheney’s history.

This man fears no one……I look at this administration and not one of them with the exception of Hillary Clinton have any b****.

Obama goes to Cairo, apologies for America.
He goes to the UN and kisses that Iranian’s butt.

Norm, you would fit right in with those Chicago “thugs.

Take this “Rashad Hussain” …he came on his staff last year, now he is appointed to a position where he can protect “terrorist”

google him and see…….go ahead..do it ..and then tell me it is a lie.

      *****

      • Yes we did

Dick Cheney should be turned over to the Iraqis for trial , then planted right next to Saddam ..

  • Ed Butler

Dick supposedly has been halfway intelligent in his critisizing
of Obama and Co. And I’m all for it. Of course, I believe Glenn Beck has the best common-sense approach by far.
My point here is: Cheney mentions whomever (runs),will have to be qualified to be US President. Look at Obama. If he made it then Alfred E. Newman could sweep in 2012. Get it?

    • Tim

You stated that Beck has the most common sense approach. You have to be kidding! I take it that you are a rightwinger nut, who watches Fox Noise daily. I challenge you to read the hyperlink below:

      http://www.politifact.com/personalities/glenn-beck/

      • Michael J.

        Tim,
While we are comparing true versus false, you might as well look at this as well.
        http://www.politifact.com/personalities/barack-obama/

      • Gustofero

And your point is? Look at the ratings. Glenn Beck’s rate at MOST half-true, with a significant percentage in the “Pants on Fire” category. Obama seems at least to have made SOME effort to get his facts right.

      • denniso

Amazing to me that anyone at all would care what Cheny has to say about anything or anybody…Cheny asked about qualifications for president??? do you know how to torture? how well can you lie to the American people and look sincere and serious? Do you favor war and death and destruction over negotiation and working w/ the world? Do you have the proper personal investments to be able to enrich yourself on gov’t policy you enact? Can you use fearmongering and hate to promote your extremist agenda???

      • Fed Up Gal in NM

So we can trust a Website owned by the Left-leaning St. Petersburg Times?
        http://spectator.org/archives/2009/05/28/polifacts-fixers/

      • DaveH

        Michael,
Let’s dissect the accusations made by Politifact:
Glenn Beck is on 5 days a week making statements. They have him ranked for a total of 13 statements. What happened to the rest? Is that the best they can do?
Then take Obama. They have him ranked for 241 statements. Does he talk that much more in public than Beck? It seems like it of course. Yawn. Notice that they have Obama down for 43 false or worse statements. That’s more than 3 times the total number of ranked statements for Beck, and more than 6 times the total number of Beck’s false or worse statements.
I would say Obama is the champion in this contest.

      • Michael J.

        DaveH,
I know full well the political persuasion of the St Petersberg Times and their legendary liberal leanings. Less than a week ago some one else had posted the Politifact site as a means of belittling Beck. While I was there checking it out, I noticed that they also had stats for Obama which did not portray him in a favorable light. Well, since then Politifact has done an about face and has skewed their findings to reflect a different reality. That’s what I get for trusting a liberal rag like the St Pete times.

      • Dale

Tim . . . why not post all the “lies” Beck has told . . . I will post all the “lies” the Bamster has told . . . who will have the longest list? Why I will . . . .

      • Arkham Grundy

sad that you believe in Glen Beck. He is no journalist, he is an entertainer who will say whatever his handlers give him in a script as long as attracts viewers and therefore advertisers. Anyone who believes that bozo is delusional.

        As for Sarah Palin… BIMBO

      • JeffH

Arkham Grundy must be Tiny Tim’s father. AG, tell us how dumb GB and SP are, please?

      • denniso

Cheny is an evil fool…Palin, sadly, is just a fool. If she is the best the rightwingers can come up with, boy, are they in trouble. Everyone w/ a modicum of intelligence knows she is a joke on the national stage…was in ’08 and still is.

      • DaveH

        And Denniso, is, well, just…

      • Tom Hopper

This is how you can tell that the Left is intimidated by a political figure: They riducule them and call them dumd, stupid, or in the case of Sarah Palin, Bimbo. What is really encouraging to me is that if you take the name out of all the negative Palin comments, you would be convinced that the lefties were talking about Ronald Reagan during the campaign in 1980. Remember how dumb he was? Dumb enough to save the American economy from the brink of ruin, restore American’s pride, and destroy the Soviet Union with firing a shot. We need more dumb conservative candidates.

      • Conservative Carl

Tim, does this same website use the Truth O Meter for Katie Curic or any other “News” broadcasters or for Chris Matthews or Keith Olberman? No I believe they have a different standard for conservatives.
I seldom miss watching Glenn Beck and I happen to believe a good bit of what he says. You must have your head in the sand or glued to Katie Curic on CBS to not see what is happening today. Obama has surrounded himself with people who are Socialists or Marxists or who want our nation to be Socialist.

I just wonder why it is that the Tims of the nation can have their viewpoint aired by ABC,CBS,NBC,PBS,CNN,HNN and by most daily newspapers and yet hate to see us have access to FOX NEWS or our weekly conservative newspapers and to Talk Radio. Your side controls much of the media and yet you just hate, as does Obama, to have any opposition. Can you rationally explain why that is?

      • eyeswideopen

Conservative Carl, yes, you just type in the name you are interested in and it will give you the facts.

      • Cel

        Tim….you little “know nothing”

You are probably one of those snotty nose kids who put Obama in the White House.

I would like to see you debate Glen Beck or Dick Cheney.

You hide behind your computer and spout your trash.

Don’t work here……….Love Glen, like Barbara Walters said “He is one of the top 10 most interesting men in America”

I did not need her to tell me that….

You should watch him and stop listening to your “liberal” friends.

May be you would learn something.

Fox New has the highest ratings.

If you watch CNN you may be missing “John Stossel and Lou Dobbs”

They are on …..”FOX NEWS” now.
