Barack Obama, Deficit Peacock

February 12, 2010 by

Barack Obama, Deficit Peacock

I’m a deficit hawk. I hope you’re one as well.

If you are it means you want to see our gargantuan government put on a strict diet. You want to force it to live within its means, rather than borrow trillions of dollars to spend on programs we don’t want or need.

(As one crazy example, we just agreed to borrow a billion dollars from China so we can send it to Brazil to bribe them stop cutting down trees. That’s just one of the Administration’s new “ecology” programs.)

Deficit hawks are sick and tired of the way deals are done in our nation’s capitol (and far too many state capitols). We get angry knowing that our representatives use our money to bribe other voters so they can play “Big Spender” in Washington. We’re seriously afraid that our leaders will destroy our currency and bankrupt our country.

That’s what the phrase “deficit hawk” means. What does that make our president? I know President Barack Obama, and I can assure you he’s no deficit hawk. Despite all of his talk about cutting spending, trimming needless programs and being as frugal as possible with our money, he’s more like a deficit peacock.

By that I mean he’s much more concerned about how he looks and sounds than believing what he says. I’m sorry to have to say this, but our president is living proof of the old cliché about how you know a politician is lying (answer: his lips move).

I’m beginning to believe that the narcissistic egomaniac who occupies the Oval Office actually believes his own rhetoric. How else could our Teleprompter in Chief sound so sincere and convincing when he gets in front of a microphone to ‘splain things to us?

Here’s the Straight Talk rule for deciphering a politician’s rhetoric: Forget about what he says. Instead, watch what he does. What Barrack Obama has done is promote a spending spree that would make a drunken sailor jealous.

Obama has taken federal spending to a whole new level. If you thought George Bush, with his “guns and butter” social conservatism was irresponsible, W was a miserly skinflint compared to the smooth-talking sugar daddy who replaced him.

Immediately after taking office Obama increased discretionary domestic spending by 8 percent. That was for the second half of fiscal 2009. In fiscal 2010, he and his staff increased it by another 12 percent. Taken together, that’s a 24 percent increase in federal spending since George Bush’s last full year in office. And that total doesn’t even include Obama’s $787 billion “stimulus” package—or the new one he wants.

Now our Dissembler in Chief has promised to cut discretionary spending by 1 percent. As my grandkids would say, “Big whoop.” Let me tell you what’s not included in this so-called spending freeze:

  • Various government entitlement programs, such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
  • The half-trillion in “stimulus” money that hasn’t been spent.
  • Foreign aid.
  • Pet federal education programs.
  • All of the various “greening” programs.

Bottom line? The anticipated savings from Obama’s so-called “freeze” amount to less than 1 percent of this year’s deficit—and that’s if Congress doesn’t add any pork or earmarks to the plan. Want to bet on that?

In his speech, Obama said, “I refuse to pass this problem on to another generation of Americans.” I can only admire the restraint of everyone in the audience; not a single person blurted out, “You lie!”

Last Sunday President Obama released the Federal Budget for fiscal 2011. It projects that federal spending will rise to $3.72 trillion in fiscal 2010, then climb to $3.83 trillion in fiscal 2011.

The projections include a deficit of $1.56 trillion this fiscal year and an additional $1.27 trillion next year. Then the numbers are supposed to start coming down.

Don’t believe for a second that they will. One of the key assumptions in the Obama budget is that inflation will be half the average rate it has been for the past 100 years. Does anyone anywhere really believe that?

Since they took over Congress the Democrats have increased non-defense spending by an astronomical $1.4 trillion. Under the new budget the national debt will triple by 2020.

During the past 15 months, our profligate government has amassed $1.8 trillion of new indebtedness. Believe it or not, Obama’s boys ran a deficit each and every month, including the tax-collection month of April. (While no one likes to mention it, the government normally enjoys a surplus in April. In fact, it has done so each and every April for the past 26 years. Then Mr. Obama took over.)

To help put that $1.8 trillion in new debt in perspective, consider this: That is more than double the total debt that this country accumulated during the first 200 years of its existence. Our debt load did not crack the $1 trillion mark until 1980.

To put it another way, today our dangerously profligate government racks up as much debt in six months as we did in our first 200 years.

And that’s why I say Barrack Obama and his cohorts in Congress are deficit peacocks.

They strut around Washington pretending to care about deficits… pretending they want to balance the budget… pretending they’ll help freeze spending.

Their strategy is simple and their audacity is amazing: Promise spending cuts in the future while going on a spending spree today. And this with money stolen from us in taxes or, even worse, stolen from our unborn heirs in the form of inflation.

That’s what deficit peacocks do. Nearly 50 years ago one of Lyndon Johnson’s cronies bragged about the strategy: “Tax and tax, spend and spend, elect and elect—the public is too damn dumb to understand.” The big-spending liberals haven’t changed a thing since then. Frankly, they haven’t needed to.

I wish I could claim credit for that marvelous descriptor, “deficit peacocks.” But I first heard it from the Center for American Progress, a left-leaning policy group in Washington. I may not like your recommendations, fellows. But I love your phrase.

There is an epic battle going on in this country between the people who earn the money and the people who want to spend it—or even worse, want it spent on themselves. The pendulum is currently at the half-way point. Fifty percent of the population pays more than 97 percent of the taxes. We’re the ones who fill the trough. The other 50 percent get to eat there.

Is there any way to beat them? Yes. All we have to do is work harder to get decent people elected to office.

Hey, we already work a lot harder than they do in our jobs, our lives, our charities, our churches. Why can’t we work harder to defeat them at the polls?

As the voters in Massachusetts just proved, we can. So let’s do it.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

Just like the predecessors we have another President who in his job is the one willing to take the United States of America into bankruptcy, after the cash and wall street, whats left/ There’s never been an audit performed in Fort Knox. Its been reported that the gold is in the hands of the Vatican. So if Israel has no choice but to attack, the gold standards rise through the roof. So what’s left for America. Forget China’s threat they’re buying coal real estate and holding play money. Please comment on these thoughts, I would like to know your thoughts on this.
    cheers

    • W. B “Bill” McCaslin

I know for a fact the gold is in Ft. Knox. But that is not the primary gold reserve. That is in a bank in Manhattan. (Name witheld,) however it is a repository of the Federal Reserve, where international transactions occur by moving gold bars and other precious metals like Platanum from one location to another. When the Master Vault is opened the elevator will not function. The access has a 33 in ChroMolly blast door. All doors automatically close and lock when the combo changes. The bars are 55mm Chro-molly Steel 100 mm apart, (Krupp made them) and require three keys and an electronic signal to unlock. The rooms are inside the Master Vault and look like prison cells for Superman. The Master Vault is a four dial, four handle operation and the codes are electronically changed (period unknown) by servo controlls. The opening procedure changes but I do know it is exceedingly complex, requiring the operation of different dials and handles in an odd order. One mistake and alarms go off; you’ll have to wait 48 hours. There is a comfort station and a small kitchen in case you are locked inside. Make a booboo or fail to respond promptly and properly to an alarm and you’re locked in for 48. There are telephones inside each cage and in the Lobby of the Master Vault. If you’r inside a cage you can exit it and have access to the Lobby.

Many Nations store a substantial portion of their precious metals there. The scare issue is this: If the US defaults on the Dollar will we steal (expropriate) other nations reserves?

I don’t visit whore houses but if there was one around and his clone were playing the piano there I’d be a steady customer at the bar!

THIS IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE………

    Harry Truman

Harry Truman was a different kind of President. He probably made as many important decisions regarding our nation’s history as any of the other 42 Presidents. However, a measure of his greatness may rest on what he did after he left the White House.

The only asset he had when he died was the house he lived in, which was in Independence Missouri . His wife had inherited the house from her mother and other than their years in the White House, they lived their entire lives there.

When he retired from office in 1952, his income was a U.S. Army pension reported to have been $13,507.72 a year. Congress, noting that he was paying for his stamps and personally licking them, granted him an ‘allowance’ and, later, a retroactive pension of $25,000 per year..

After President Eisenhower was inaugurated, Harry and Bess drove home to Missouri by themselves. There were no Secret Service following them.

When offered corporate positions at large salaries, he declined, stating, “You don’t want me. You want the office of the President, and that doesn’t belong to me. It belongs to the American people and it’s not for sale.”

Even later, on May 6, 1971, when Congress was preparing to award him the Medal of Honor on his 87th birthday, he refused to accept it, writing, “I don’t consider that I have done anything which should be the reason for any award, Congressional or otherwise.”

As president he paid for all of his own travel expenses and food.

Modern politicians have found a new level of success in cashing in on the Presidency, resulting in untold wealth. Today, many in Congress also have found a way to become quite wealthy while enjoying the fruits of their offices. Political offices are now for sale. (sic. Illinois)
Good old Harry Truman was correct when he observed, “My choices in life were either to be a piano player in a whore house or a politician. And to tell the truth, there’s hardly any difference!

I say dig him up and clone him!!

    • s c

Marion, hero crowing is not a good idea. Truman is history.
I have a question for you. At the end of WWII, it was decided that a certain leader in SE Asia could have tons of small caliber rifles and ammunition – courtesy of our military and the president.
That SE Asian leader was Ho Chi Minh. He became the leader of North Vietnam. The name of the president who let Ho have the weapons and ammunition was HST himself. Oooops! That fact doesn’t get taught much in American history classes.
My point is NOT that we never get a president who is perfect. My point is that our presidents are always surrounded by “advisors” who are allowed to help ‘formulate’ decisions. HST did an incredibly stupid thing to help Uncle Ho. We paid dearly for that one, and we’re still paying for it.
Hero crowing should be left to those who revere the Founding Fathers. They were a breed apart, and I fear that we will never see more leaders like them.

      • Tim

Speaking of making stupid foreign policy blunders, Reagan funded a military buildup in Iraq during the Iraq/Iran War, which took place during the 1980s. Reagan later admitted that he made a booboo.

      • JeffH

Tiny Tim, you just love to live in the past don’t you. Try another spin on your views, you might even learn that the “truth will set you free”.

      • W. B “Bill” McCaslin

HST was a failed dry goods salesman. He was never meant to be President. Roosevelt died suddenly in Warm Springs Georgia of massive stroke or cardiac arrest. No autopsy was performed. The exact cause is not certain. There is a theory his reluctance to enter into war in Europe was the cause. The Military Industrian Complex, Eisenhower warnd We The People about was already at Adult stage ( metamorphosis of insects). Egg, Larvae, Pupae, (Cocoon,) Adult.

MIC and Pearl Harbor got us into a World War and out of the Great Depression. Now these many years later with the Govt. printing more money than they have good governance has put us into a bicycle ride around the event horizon of a black hole.

The Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia was run when water was not potable and had to be boiled. Therefore most of them were stiff on Rum. It is a total micacle things went so well. Had it not been for the example of Caesar Rodney (who suffered from cancer of the jaw) and others like Franklin, Adams, Jefferson and a few others The Republic would have ended in a public riot in the streets. As a matter of fact several delagates went outside to settle arguments with fisticuffs or by Duel with pistols, rapier or sword. LOL, Franklin went out one time in a duel. It was a “Spitting Contest.” LOL. These colorful bits of history are deeply hidden. Washington was successfully beating the British who had the long supply route (a definite disadvantage) and George III was, shall we say, half a Sixpack short. He could not get the British to fight and had to apply to the Lord of Hess in Germany for assistance. Later American soldiers repaid The House of Hess by stealing their crown jewels, chopping them up and selling the most part.

That our Republic was born is a Divine Miracle! Now look what associations with special agendae and selfserving politicians have done with this formerly splendid glory.

Truman cost this country thousands over 1955-1975 by ignoring Vietnam.
Ho Chi Minh’s and american special forces troops fought side-by-side. Americans were reveared in VIetnam as the last country to overthrow a colonial power. FDR knew Indochina needed to be addressed immediately following the war, that the French should not be allowed to regain total control. The Vietnamese government sent Truman a letter of their independence taken directly from our own Dec. of Independence. Truman ignored it and so began the calamity that wouldn’t end until 1975. It may have been avoided. in 1945.

      Marion,
As for the fact that politicians seem able to make millions now you are quite right and it is shown nowhere better than by Al Gore who has made 300,000,000 dollars since leaving office!!! That was, by the way, as of last year about this time!!! Probably another hundred million by now!!!!

I only got Mad when Cheney elected to take the easy route and not run to succeed his boss since he was always the most experienced and the most qualified.
I only got mad when the Florida election was submitted to the Supreme Court in the first place when every one knew that Buxh and Cheney carried all of Florida except Miami (the Cubans) and Fort Lauderdale (the Transplanted Yankees).
Someone needs to dictate energy policy in this country because we have none otherwise, certainly none that comes from the Congress or the people.
I only got mad when the Media and the Congress won’t allow the CIA to do its job and write our CIA operative’s death warrant with their publicity.
I only got mad when the Congress couldn’t wait to dismantle the Patriot Act.
I only got mad when President Bush prematurely declared a victory after Saddam Hussein was captured before the was over.
I only got mad when President Bush and President Obama spent trillions of dollars on bank bailouts and stimulus packages that never worked.
How about the trillions of stimulus that has disappeared in the U.S.
I only got mad when the tortured people tortured the poor, hard working patriots working at the World Trade Center in New York City.
I only got mad when the governemt would not get the info needed to protect us however it could get it.
I only got mad when Bill Clinton had bin Laden in his sights, and he gave the order not to shoot.
What horrible conditions at Walter Reed? This is the best military hospital with the best doctors and nurses in the world. You been reading too much Media propaganda.
I only got mad when I saw people wading out of the murky water in New Orleans begging for a handout when they were to lazy to help themselves.
The rich always get a tax break because the rich can always afford an army of lawyers and accountants to search for the most appropriate means to expand their businesses and to create real jobs.
I only got mad when the deficit hit the multi-trillion dollar mark, and we had an irresponsible President who could care less.
Without the ability of the rich to get richer, there are (and will be) no real jobs. Obama is finding that out real fast.

      Wish I’d said that!
We really don’t need to fear the Alciada! Obama is doing a great job of destroying the “once” greatest country for them!

    • Joe H.

      Flynn,
actually there was a problem with Reed a few years ago but it was brought on by Clintoons defense and VA budget cuts!

  • CaMaven

None of this should be a surprise, if one understands who Obama really is, which you can better do by reading “The Obama Timeline,” by Don Fredrick. Stunning book and VERY well-documented.

  • http://www.data-technologies.net Pete Gandy

Social Security is gone already. We give it to dead beats who never produced one nickle for it. We give it to them from birth to death. Now we are taking it away from those who paid or are paying into it just to keep giving more to the dead beats.
Hummm let’s have another kid to get more Wellfare! RIGHT!

    • Tim

You are wrong about people collecting Social Security who never paid a nickel into it. To even qualify for collecting either Social Security disability or retirement, one must first WORK for a designated period of years. If you don’t believe me, go to the web site of the Social Security Administration yourself, or give them a call.

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

You are mostly correct Tim however, I read an article about a woman collecting for 8 children from SSI because she could not work (evidentally she had worked in the past) however, since the children were under 18 each child received in excess of $1,000.00 per month until they were 18, supposidly this lady was an illegal alien. What you say is true as long as you are a caucasian and not one of the minorities applying for SSI. I understand it takes about 2 years to get and is based on what you previously made however, along with the funds which are paltry (in the case I know about $600 a month, she has no children under 18) you get Medicade which is a big boost if under 65. I didn’t as of yet had time to check out the story above with the 8 children.

      • Joe H.

        tim,
Wrong! up till a few years ago the politicians could collect social security without EVER paying into it! that loophole was closed about 10″?” years ago!!! I went to college with a kid that had a full ride package including room and board all from social security! His Parents were both alive and were collecting!

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Do a little more research Tim. It takes the average American 40 quarters to qualify to receive SS whereas Cheney/Bush wanted to lower that to 10 points for all the illegals they wanted to legalize. Remember who owns and runs the refinery plants housed in Texas and learn how many that have been allowed to fall into ruin and disrepair elsewhere in the USA. You would not say that may be a big part of the plan as to why we are moving so slow about alternative fuels would you>
It’s been proven that fuel can be made from chicken, horse and cow dung, but somrone always manages to but the farmers out. WHY??????

      • cr747

The President and the Government wouldn’t be able to get their cut!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://Kamaria32@hotmail.com Kamaria

The deficit will begin to go down in a couple of years once Obama starts taking control of peoples 401K’s. Then he will supposedly add that money to the Social Security Fund. Then it will soon disappear as the Social Security money did. He will use the money to pay down the national debt! It has already begun! Any 401K’s that were held by the banks that have gone under so far, are already in Obama’s control.

    • http://www.data-technologies.net Pete Gandy

Yeah, those damned rich people with 401Ks.
Let them pay for it. They worked hard for that little money in the 401K but they need to help us dead beats out of the trouble we are creating.

When the 401K was hatched I thought it was a very bad idea!
I didn’t have a good grip on why but then I learned I was more right than I ever thought possible. Socialists can spend our money faster and in more ways than I can ever get a grip on.

    • Joe H.

      Kamaria,
As iasked another poster the other night could you please post a site I can read about the 401K accounts? I can’t find any!

Your knowledge of economics is deficient. Deficits are of concern in the long run, but not when the country/world is on the brink of a bottomless economic abyss. Obama’s stimulus package should have been bigger, but it has apparently saved our economy from a depression.

    • http://www.data-technologies.net Pete Gandy

OK when you can’t pay your bills go out and use your credit cards.
      Make sense to you?
Damm I’m amazed at this logic of borrowing our way out of debt!

      • Tim

Leading economists have said that had Obama not passed a stimulus bill, that the unemployment would have been a lot worse than the 9.7% that it’s at.

      • DaveH

Oh sure, and that makes it true. There are also many “leading” economists who state the opposite.
Did you ever hear of the Panic of 1907? Probably not, because it came and went in about a year. The Free Market without intervention from the government worked things out.
Contrast that with the Depression, where government got heavily involved, and which lasted over 10 years.
Throwing good money after bad is never the solution. The bankers and other institutions who got themselves into trouble should have been left to fail. The pieces would have been picked up by the bankers and other institutions that pursued the proper policies. As it is, the know-nothing politicians have just extended the company lives of those who pursue wrong-headed policies.
I contend that without the bailouts (especially GM which deserved to die at the hands of its Unions) this economy would recover much more quickly. How can you disprove me, unless you have a crystal ball?

Time will tell, but I predict massive inflation and a continuing bad economy, when the excess dollars created (now on the sidelines) come rushing into the marketplace to buy increasingly scarce goods.

      • DaveH

And sure “unemployment would have been a lot worse”. Easy for you to say. Anybody can make unfounded predictions of what might have been. The fact is that unemployment was at 7.6% when Obama took office and it is now 9.7%. So unemployment has grown under Obama. That is the fact.

      • AnhydrousBob

All those “leading economists” are Keynesians, spouting the Keynesian rhetoric. What do some Non-Keynesian economists say?

      • DaveH

Here is an explanation of Austrian School of Economics of which Ludwig Von Mises was a prominent supporter:
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austrian_School

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

Obamas approach was wrong. He should have centered his stimulus for the people. The banks would have gotten their money – just not the humongus interest would have been made. At this rate they are still making the big bucks at the expense of Main Street American citizens.

  • http://Hubpages.com Ralph Deeds

Your knowledge of economics is deficient. Deficits are of concern in the long run, but not when the country/world is on the brink of a botomless economic abyss. Obama’s stimulus package should have been bigger, but it has apparently saved our economy from a depression.

    • DaveH

Economics in a nutshell from a nut.
If creating new money and excessive government spending was the answer to a bad economy, there would be no poor countries. Any fool can spend money, and any government can create new money.
Do you honestly think adding unbacked money to the system somehow changes a countries productivity? As more money chases fewer goods the pre-existing dollars become worth less and thus the savings of hard working people lose their buying power. This severely damages peoples’ incentive to be productive. And after all, the goods and services produced by the working citizens is the real economy. The money only acts as a facilitator of trade.

    • AnhydrousBob

So why worry at all? … because in the long run, we’re all dead.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

        You are right Anhy.

It’ll all work out in the end Anhy- The meek will inherit the earth and the Christians will get to live in the New Jerusalem. IT WASN’T LEGAL. THE ACORN ETC FRAUD WAS ILLEGAL!

You didn’t get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate
      energy policy.
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

You didn’t get mad when a covert CIA operative got ousted.
      REALLY?

You didn’t get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.
      OH YES I DID!

You didn’t get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to
      us.
GET YOU HEAD OUT OF THE SAND!

You didn’t get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said
      illegal war.
YES I DID BUT SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO PAY THE FIDDLER!

You didn’t get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq .
      WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

You didn’t get mad when you found out we were torturing people.
I’VE SEEN REAL TORTURE! HAVE YOU? WE DO NOT TORTURE. WE INTIMIDATE!

You didn’t get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.
PROVE IT! ILLEGAL ALIENS AND COVERT ENEMY OPS WERE WIRETAPPED!

You didn’t get mad when we didn’t catch Bin Laden.
OH YES I DID! IT MADE ME MAD AS HELL WHEN HE WAS SERVED UP ON A PLATTER AND BILL CLINTON IGNORED IT!

You didn’t get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.
YES I DID! WHAT ARE YOUR DOING TO HELP!?

You didn’t get mad when we let a major US city drown.
BUSH OFFERED HELP! THE LA GOVENOR AND NO MAYOR BOTH DECLINED! AS IS THEIR RIGHT!
HAD BUSH SENT IN NATIONAL GARD AGAINST THE WILL OF THE GOVENOR IT WOULD HAVE BEEN UNCONSTITUTIONAL! I GUESS THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN ALRIGHT? NO YOU WOULD HAVE CRIED ABOUT THAT TOO!

You didn’t get mad when we gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich.
TAX BREAK TO THE RICH! WORKING HARD FOR YOUR MONEY TO LIVE A LITTLE BETTER THAN A LAZY BUM MAKES PEOPLE RICH? DO YOU THINK IF YOU WORK HARD AND MAKE MORE THAN ME THAT I DESERVE SOME OF IT RAISE MY STANDARD OF LIVING EVEN THOUGH I CONTRIBUTE MUCH OF NOTHING?
YOUR HAT IS WAY TOO TIGHT SIR!
YES WE/I DID! I HATED IT WHEN THE REALISTIC REGAIN POLICIES SPENT EIGHT YEARS PLUS FOUR MORE OF THE SAME POLICIES OF BUSH SR. RECOVERING FROM THE JIMMY CARTER “I’M A NUKER ENGINEER” PEANUT BRAIN PUSHED IT UP. THEN MR. CLINTON, “SLICK WILLIE SELL OUR GUIDANCE SYSTEMS TO THE LIPPO GROUP” TRAITOR RAN IT UP.
GEORGE W. DIDN’T HAVE A CHANCE AGAINST THAT. NO BODY DID.
NOW LOOK AT US. IN LESS THAN A YEAR THE OBAMANATION HAS RUN UP THE DEFICIT MORE THAN BUSH DID IN EIGHT YEARS! OF COURSE THAT’S OK HUH?
You didn’t get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.

      • William Nealey

Pete you again are right on target it is so hard to convince hard core dems they are wrong they only see and hear what they want to. I have some friends who are the same way. my family used to be demacrat. but than god they were intelligent enough to realise it was a huge conglomerate of corrupt people buying votes with our tax money,

      • http://none Big Al

You didn’t get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and
        appointed a President..
IT WASN’T LEGAL. THE ACORN ETC FRAUD WAS ILLEGAL!

—The Acorn fraud was for registration. Unless Mickey Mouse actually showed up on election day, it had no impact. Again, two parties, two wrongs.

You didn’t get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate
        energy policy.
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
–THis shows how ill-informed you must care to be. Cheney, the chairman of the energy task force, held secret, undisclosed meetings with top oil companies to determine the country’s energy policy. Regardless of who was in power, this is wrong for the american people.

You didn’t get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to
        us.
GET YOU HEAD OUT OF THE SAND!
–Again, if we are invading counties with evil men in charge, lets go to South America, North Korea, throught the middle east, Africa. Where does it end? There was nothing in Iraq. No nukes. No chemical weapons. Nothing. Nothing but the sand to get your head out of.

You didn’t get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq .
        WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT
Again, don’t write if you don’t want to do the homework. Ten million dollars disappeared from Iraq and the gov. has no idea where it went. The GAO has no idea where it went.

You didn’t get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.
PROVE IT! ILLEGAL ALIENS AND COVERT ENEMY OPS WERE WIRETAPPED!
–Our own soldiers from Iraq were getting listend to when they called home to their families. Look it up. Random, indiscriminant calls were listened to. Not in my America is this legal. Throw the parties out, THIS IS AMERICA.

You didn’t get mad when we didn’t catch Bin Laden.
OH YES I DID! IT MADE ME MAD AS HELL WHEN HE WAS SERVED UP ON A PLATTER AND BILL CLINTON IGNORED IT!
-We had no armed droans in those days. No bases near Afghanistan. No troops anywhere nearby. It was an incredibly, nearly impossible situation.

      • Joe H.

actually the conditions at Walter reed were caused by Clintons cutting of the defense and VA budget! If the Cheny meetings were so ultra secret, how did you find out about them? I hate to tell you but soldiers mail and telephone conversations are subject to inspection and listening in to prevent giving away troop movements and operaqtions!! It’s called the UCMJ!!!!

      • Joe H.

I forgot one!! Were you as mad about Obummer trying to persecute the CIA? You don’t think any number of CIA operatives will be “outed” by that?

    • Warrior

Yes and we now we have the same behavior being exhibited. Hell yes, vote em out.

    • William Nealey

spoken like a true beleiver james, case in poit,

    • DaveH

      James,
So now you add mind-reading across the Internet to your imagined Liberal powers? How do you know what any of us were mad about?

As far as your Liberal right to healthcare goes, answer me this:
What will kill you sooner as a normal person, Lack of Food, Lack of Shelter, or Lack of a Doctor?
Of course, lack of food comes first, which would be followed by lack of shelter. So, don’t we therefore have a right to food and shelter as well as healthcare? If you think so, I have outed you as a Communist, as there is no other way to force those imagined rights.

    • DCK

We had eight years of Bush and Cheney, Now you get mad!

Bush came into office after a year of recession. Through most of his presidency the stock market doubled and unemployment was at 4 percent…

You didn’t get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and
      appointed a President..

What legal recount?! Florida election law stated I believe THREE recounts. Gore had them recounting for months, counting ‘hanging chads,’ which by the way, ARE NOT LEGAL VOTES! he was also trying to get endless recounts in only certain areas (democrat strongholds). All the Supreme Court did was put an end to the endless ILLEGAL RECOUNTS!

You didn’t get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate
      energy policy.

I think energy company officials might know more about energy than than bureaucrats do.

You didn’t get mad when a covert CIA operative got ousted.

      She wasn’t a covert operative.

You didn’t get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.

Didn’t see many more attacks after 9/11 did we?

You didn’t get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to
      us.

In 1991 Iraq signed a cease fire of which any violation gave us the LEGAL RIGHT to go back to war with them. They violated it NUMEROUS TIMES throughout the 90s. At least Bush had the balls to do something about it, unlike his predecessor who only did anything militarily to take the heat off himself when he got his dork caught in the intern jar.

You didn’t get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said
      illegal war.

      It wasn’t illegal. see above.

You didn’t get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq .

      see above.

You didn’t get mad when you found out we were torturing people.

Playing loud music and putting a wet towel over someone’s face doesn’t add up to torture.

You didn’t get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.

If your calling Bin Laden or his cronies, I say let ‘em listen.

You didn’t get mad when we didn’t catch Bin Laden.

He was handed to Clinton on a silver platter, and Billy let him go!

You didn’t get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.

      Huh?

You didn’t get mad when we let a major US city drown.

New Orleans was hit by two massive hurricanes in a row. Maybe the president and congress should pass a bill that makes it illegal for hurricanes to come onto American soil. That’ll stop that from ever happening again!

You didn’t get mad when we gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich.

The tax breaks were across the board. I got a tax break, and I ain’t rich. I might remind you that it’s the rich folks and people who invest their money to become rich who CREATE JOBS!!!!

You didn’t get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.

Sure did. But at least the economy was humming along nicely and the deficit could be paid down.

You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America
deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies,
corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all
okay with you, but helping other Americans… oh hell no.

No one in this country, whether here legally or not, is denied the ‘right’ to see a doctor. You go into any hospital emergency room and they let you in, whether you have insurance or not. This damn health care bill is, just like the stimulus bill before it, nothing but a big giveaway to special interest (ie PAYING OFF POLITICAL FAVORS) and just like the stimulus bill will do NOTHING to help the people it’s supposed to. Get the damn lawyers out of the mix, open up the ability to sell insurance across state lines and get unnecessary crap out like boob jobs and tummy tucks, and you’ll find insurance becomes a lot more affordable. Then pass something to ‘help’ (read: help!) people who truly can’t afford to totally pay for it on their own, and the problem is solved. But turning our healthcare system over to the federal government will not only NOT help those people, it would totally screw-up the system for everybody!

    • JC

I spent a good part of my life in Canada. (business reasons) Believe me, you don’t want socialized government health care. Nor do you want government granting you your rights.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

Of course they did not get mad or even try to do anything about it because it was their very own party doing the dirty deeds and they were happy. These are the party loyalists I speak of. Some are called sheeple, zombies, stupid, lazy . Walmart patronizers and the shoe fits a lot of them.

      • momof4

        What’s wrong with Walmart?

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

        momof4 -
!- Walmart was selling lead painted toys for our tots from China.
2- ” ” ” poison contaminated food for our animals, again from China. There has been some law suits over this.
3- Walmart was selling contaminated health aids to our adults again from China.
4-Walmart was selling contaminated baby formula that killed some babies and some Doctors knew about it and have been prosecuted in China.
5-Walmart treats their help here in America just the same way they treat their slave labor in China.
Have a talk with someone you personally know who has worked at or still does work at a walmart store.
My Granddaughter worked at a store they opened and she is a worker not a shirker.
They are out to close all our old time locals and our consumers are helping their cause. When they get control then you will pay their prices or you will not buy. Please learn all you can and please do not take my word for it.

      • Claire

Dee D–Now you can add kids’ jewelry to your list. I go to Walmart but I try like heck never to purchase anything made in China or in any other country. I also remember the dog food scare. The store here in town still kept the tainted dog food on the shelves!! I reported it to the clerk and she told me it was up to the “manager” to remove the dog food. So much for that. Another item–I always puchase the washcloths since I use them for the dogs, and the last few bundles I bought stunk like the dickens. It took two washings to get that chemical smell out of them. So I won’t buy them anymore either. China has sold this garbage to America for years. Sure, they are our “friends.” With friends like this, who needs enemies.

    Mr. Gandy:

I hope what you write about Social Security is correct; at least, that is the way it is supposed to be; but, in recent years, I have come to realize that Social Security is just another tax for the politicians to spend on Earmarks merely to get reelected. If you really want a Social Security that is like the theoretical one of which you write, then it may be better to have a good financial adviser and develop one’s very own. In this case, it is much better to begin as young as possible.

    • http://www.data-technologies.net Pete Gandy

      Your absolutely right.
I never thought that a Social Security system was a good idea anyway.
I never said I support the idea of any system where the Government should be my Nanny! Social Security as designed was a Nanny State idea.
It was designed to take care of those who don’t do as you said about providing for themselves.
I would have loved to have that money to invest in a real money saving possible making system.
I never said I didn’t plan and work for the future.
I just said the Socialistic Government that set it up and confiscated the money does owe it to those who paid it.
As usual it morphs into something else. Bad something else.

    • William Nealey

Mr. Gandy is correct about social security. it was originaly set up as a seperate fund and had enough money in it to last forever till lyndon bains johnson and the damned demacrats decided that was a good source of revenue to finance the vietnam war with out having to rase taxes thereby making the people aware of their tax and spend ways,

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

William; Which President at the time took the Soc. Sec. surplus to pay our employees paychecks in Washington to keep Washington working?

  • Robert Tourville

I agree with Charles Lynn’s comment, MCcain had to document all his qualifications to be president under Article 2 Section 1.

Barrack Hussein Obama, or is it Barrack Muhammad Obama, or is it Barry Satoro, and his dozens of social security #s, anyway you get my point, we don’t know anything about him.

I am convinced he is an undocumented worker and was planted here to do a job, destroy this country.

Dave – may be so for union workers but doesn’t the reps we elect get to retire with every cent they are paid to represent us as well as the raises they vote for themselves. If I’m wrong let me know.

  • Jay Vogelson

I am sick and tired of Johnny come lately deficit hawks who stood by silently allowing Bush to keep war costs off the books and excluded from the budget. What did you think you were doing? Clearly you were giving Bush authority to spend whatever he wanted without oversight and without disclosure of costs. Bush obviously took Cheney’s advice that deficits don’t matter and so did you.

    • http://www.data-technologies.net Pete Gandy

      Sir,
      Your a bit off base.
No one with any sense ever allowed Bushes spending, “except militarily” any more than this Jerk!
Progressive Liberals and Progressive Conservatives are by and large the same thing.
So I’m not defending Bush and I haven’t seen any comments here to suggest anyone else has either.
Your comments do suggest you are defending this alleged president who surrounds himself with Communists, Socialists, Marxists.
I don’t know where you have been in this world nor how old you are but I bet you haven’t spent any time in a country ran by a dictator, a socialists government or even a Communist government.
      It always fails.
Since we have slid down that slippery hill to running our country as a Democracy instead of a Republic we have steadily rolling like a snow ball toward socialism which will very rapidly morph into Communism.
All Democracies fail at about our time in history.
Why? Because when you allow people to vote who live off entitlements they vote for those who increase entitlements. They increase the entitlements to keep their power. Sound like a snow ball yet.
Also when a society reaches a entitlement paid society plus government worker/employee level that is over 35% the Democracy is usually doomed.
We have surpassed 35% funding of entitlements and government employees.
Where is the money coming from to pay these people?
Those at the entitlement branch contribute nothing so why?
Government has too many jobs, why. Because they usually are over paid and do not have the skills to make it in the real world.

Socialism is great until you run out of other people’s money!

      • William Nealey

      • DaveH

        True Al,
We need to get over that futile idea that we can change the world by force.

    • Linda

You’re right. They’re all spending way too much. However, prior to Obama, spending was more gradual and less noticeable by the American people. We needed an Obama in the White House to put the outlandish spending on steroids in order to open our eyes. Hopefully, future elections will reflect our new awareness.

      • http://www.data-technologies.net Pete Gandy

Problem with steroids is the good is only temporary. Then the bad shows it’s ugly head!
Look at the body builders when they were 25 and on steroids. Now look at them at the age of 50! IF THEY ARE ALIVE!

    • TeresaE

No, I didn’t. I tried to get others to care, I voted for conservatives and I was TICKED off that everyone is living in idiot world.

What those like you neglect to see is Bush inherited the loss of our biggest industry – Y2K and dotcom, then 9/11.

Clinton spent everydime of his once-in-a-lifetime tax revenues, and then he increased spending but pushed it into the next President’s term.

THIS President and THIS Congress are spending at rates that make Bush look like an amateur.

Wake the heck up and realize BOTH parties are killing this country and GUARANTEEING our children will grow up in poverty.

      • William Nealey

you are so right TeresaE. and there are too many Idiots who still think obummer is the next comeing,

      • http://none Big Al

Yes, Clinton handed Bush increased spending….and the government was still a surplus, and the end of the deficit was visible within the decade. Spending beyond control is wrong no matter who did it. Stop just blaming Obama. That’s exactly what these damn politicians are realying on–they can say or do anything as long as they give you a boogie man to blame it on.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Big Al: Clinton’s surplus was on paper only.
Deficit was 871 Billion in 1980.
        Regan——————3.7 or.8 Trillion
        Bush Sr.—————4.8 Trillion
        Clinton—————-5.6 Trillion
        CHENEY/Bush Jr———11.5 Trillion

        What’s the figure now?

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Yes TeresaE and us educated voters are helping them every step of the way.

      • DaveH

        Educated?
Where did you get the figure of 11.5 trillion? I assume you’re talking about the National Debt, which was $10 Trillion when Bush left office. There was much hubbub in the Liberal press about the fact that the National Debt grew from a little less than $6 Trillion to $10 Trillion in the 8 years Bush was in office. That’s $.5 Trillion per year. Compare that to $2 Trillion added on already during Obama’s first year.

      • DaveH

        Since 1945:

The Republicans had the majority in the Senate 20 out of 65 years. The Democrats had the majority in the Senate 45 out of 65 years.
Those Pesky Republicans sure did a lot of spending in their short years at the helm.

I have to agree with Glenn Beck on this one and that is: it’s the environment stupid! This New World Order Government is coming in the “guise” of Environmentalism! It is another Government scam, of coarse, but it will still happen. It’s always only really about power and control and using people on the fringes to make it happen and all the people end up suffering by it’s consequences!

    • William Nealey

well spoken Victor and so true. the damned environmentalist have dam near ruined this country and we dont have any one in washington with Balls enough to shut them down. they trample all over the constitution and no one does a damned thing about it, they should have been shut down years ago,

      • http://www.data-technologies.net Pete Gandy

Well, don’t forget the damned layers.
Look how fast they are jumping on suing Toyota etc.
Hell folk, the floor mat problem has been around since some idiot decided a floor mat should be put there.
If your pedal is getting stuck under the floor mat throw the damned thing out!
Or is a floor mat smarter than you?

Also it wouldn’t be to bad an idea to be able to control your car in an emergency.
Try neutral and breaks when the floor mat puts you in the go faster mode.
        Learn to drive the car.
If pilots were so badly trained in their equipment there would be crashes all over the country daily.

      • William Nealey

again pete you are spot on, the damned trial lawyers are the biggest problem with health care,

      • Ken

Toyota’s problem is not the floor mat and they really do not know what is causing the problem. The only way to solve the problem is to get one of those cars that has had the problem and diagnose every electronic component with the fuel feed and the cruise control. This will not be solved any time soon. The floor mat is just a pass off until the real problem is found. My opinion only but a dealer told me that they had not found the real problem. The problem with Toyota is that they are getting on the band wagon with the rest of the car company’s and buying parts from outside and you know where that is taking us. I expect that the law suits are justified but it will ultimately wind up with the maker of the components.

      • DaveH

The very first thing to do when your accelerator is stuck is to shut off the motor! Train yourself to turn that key in such emergency.

      • JC

Or just throw it in neutral and hit the brakes. Killing the ignition could lock the steering wheel.

      • DaveH

Good Point, JC. In modern cars you can’t turn the key all the way because of the lock mechanism. I think you can damage your automatic transmission on some vehicles by driving with it in neutral.

      • http://none Big Al

So Pete, if your accelerator got stuck in a Toyota, you wouldn’t sue right? Suuurrreeeee.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

William; When I was 11 yrs. of age I was lucky enough to make a trip to California. I was amazed that I could swim in the pacific ocean during the day but had to sleep under blankets during the night to stay warm. That was a new experience for me. I remember a scientist who made the statement that over a period of time the east and west coast would change climates. At the time I thought that would not be a possibility – however it’s happening. So we may not be having the environmentalism events that’s being told so much as mother nature doing a job she was supposed to do to maybe get our earth in a position to accept the future consequences that will happen with or without man kinds help. Think about it, man really has perfected the art of tearing down things and label it as progress.

    • Ken

That is what is wromg with most of the voters in this country, opinions and no facts to back it up. This housing give away started with Bill Clinton in 1999 when he signed a bill to allow people to buy a house without sufficent means under pressure of all the liberal groups and of course the more you give away the more votes your party will get. The Democrats have been buying votes with our tax money for years. By the way, do you think that the banks would loan money to people that they know do not qualify without a bail out promise from the government.
Do your homework before you make decisions rather than out of the box personal opinions. I am an independent voter and I take the time to investigate before I make a decision on voting, after all this depends on the future for all of us.
Evidently you are happy with the current administration. Looks like you have put the wolf in charge of the hen house and cannot recognise it. You must be a reciever rather than a tax payer!

        Ken, you’re half right.
Clinton signed the bill, that had been pushed hard and passed by the repulican house and senate.
That means both of the major parties are to blame. Same thing for the bailouts. Same thing for the deficit.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Amen Big Al – It’s all one big political game and we voters are allowing ourselves to be led to slaughter almost the same way Hitler was able to kill so very many innocent people. Ours is not ovens but the OWG. I think all our reps have bought into the concept and it will be the beginning of the end for American Democracy.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Sorry Ken; The deregulation landslide started under Regan.

    • William Nealey

ramon is one of those who voted for change without asking what kind of change and aparently he doesn’t watch Fox news and see whats going on in the world he just like some of my friends only listen to the dems talking points and says hear hear,

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

William – if Ramon had asked he probably would have been told a lie. Just maybe he wanted change because he realized we could not continue on the downhill spiral that was killing so very many innocents people and making so many countries hate us and seeing us as the enemy and bully for the first time in the over 200 year history of our country. Ramon to get all the guilty scumbags we will have to go way way back and sweep the whole White House clean, maybe tear it apart brick by brick and erect a one room shanty for them to work in. One vacation a year – no free voting for raises for themselves. They get no more or no less than any other citizen in America. When we have one rep pushing for perks for one state – if there isn’t enough for all 50 states – throw it out. One for all and all for one.
Check into the John Mertha Airport as an example and see how a lot of money is being wasted on 3 flights a day at the taxpayers expense.

      • cr747

Dee D, same amount of soldiers being wounded, and killed, but Obama want let,”the bought out news companies,” report it. ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, they are the ones that have been bought out.. Only available reliable news now on TV is FOX NEWS, like it or not. FOX want let this administration buy them out.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Have to disagree with you cr747 – Do some checking into the ownership of every channel you mentioned and you will truly learn who is controlling the so called (NEWS?) media (lies and propaganda) here in America. Why is it foreign nations can get true news concerning our state of affairs while Americans only can get what they want us to be told? Check party affiliations on the ownership of same and you will see why there is so very little investigating reporting going on.

      • DaveH

        Dee,
All anybody can do is to learn as much as possible, and then make judgements accordingly.
As far as Fox goes, they let all sorts of people make their arguments. And they talk about important events that no other network will address. What could they do to make you happy, besides presenting only the Liberal side of issues?
They have Democrats, Republicans, and Libertarians presenting their viewpoints. It’s up to you to choose who you think makes the most compelling case.
Even on shows like John Stossel’s (Libertarian) on Fox Business Network, they allow Liberals to present their side (as disgusting as it is).
I have seen no other network that comes even remotely close to telling all sides of the story.
I am very keen to the bias at the other networks being a lifelong Libertarian. The MSM has shut Libertarians out of the debate for decades.
        Thank goodness for Fox.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

One important fact to be observed Will ———-Faux Noise lies. Why do they have to lie? Why does truth scare them?

      • DaveH

You remind me of those 3 monkeys, see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.
Obama has broken promise after promise, and you follow him like a little lost sheep.

      • cr747

DaveH, Very well spoken. I agree with what you have stated. Fox will take any and everybody’s opinion and debate it with them. The other networks will not give you the time of day.

I want to throw up every time I see Katie Couric (spelling??) come on the air. I can’t change channels fast enough.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Sorry Dave – you are in error again. I do not follow the dictates of 99.99% of our politicians housed in Washington. They are almost all money grubbibg, lying, thieving traitors of our country and her citizens.

Let someone get raped,, or killed by a firearm,, they will run it for weeks on end.. For instance the Jealous One Of Palin,,”Katie Couric” will even do a documentary on it.. She’s obnoxious, rude, over bearing, self centered,, kind of reminds me of Nancy Peloisamino.. In other words the South end of a North bound JACKASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • DaveH

Because Ramon, we don’t think with our Lizard Brains like the Liberals do. We know that Bush is no longer in office. And we know the Democrats were in control the last two years of Bush’s presidency. And we know that the Democrat Congressmen have rarely seen a spending Bill they couldn’t embrace, or a dependent citizen who they couldn’t encourage to stay dependent.
The fact that we don’t attack Bush says nothing about our opinion of his policies. It is only because we are intelligent enough to know that he is not currently the problem; Obama is the current problem.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

DaveH; Just how big is a lizard brain?

      Ramon,
Yes the Bush administration spent way too much but you have to remember Obama was in the senate and voted for all of it. The Dems have had control cogress since 2006. They are just as much to blame for the Bush spending. Bush should have used his veto pen a little more instead of trying to reach accross the isle to Dems who always want to spend spend spend and tax tax tax. I don’t get your comment
about heaven, whats that suppose to mean.

    • cr747

Ramon, you are so wrong. The previous administration had nothing to do with Obama being elected. People believed every word Obama said. There’s more ways to size up a candidate then just listening to him speak. Read that candidates expressions, his actions. The first debate he was in made my mind up real quick. I could tell right away he was a lier!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Loyde Williams

Why is it taking so long for the American people to do what is right and what is necessary ——-IMPEACH THE DUMMY!!!!@!

    • Flynn

How can we “impeach the dummy” when Nancy Pelozi is in charge of the House of Representatives. Nancy would throw out any impeachment bill so fast that it would make one’s head swim in confusion. If I understand the Constitution correctly, impeachment proceedings must be initiated in the House (or by 3/4ths of the State Legislatures). Can you imagine getting 3/4ths of the State Legislatures to vote to impeach? It would have to be for a very grave sin. Even the antichrist is not yet guilty of that kind of sin, at least not in the way that it can be proven.

      • http://www.data-technologies.net Pete Gandy

OK so we don’t have a chance to impeach him.
Can we just send him back to the village in Kenya that is missing it’s idiot?

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

I agree. Look at all that crap that Clinton did, especially lying under oath and we couldn’t get him impeached. Hopefully, when it all comes out that the anointed one is NOT a natural born American, then we can get him out plus nullify all the wrongs that he has done. This I pray on each evening.

      • Janie

        Sally,
Bill Clinton WAS IMPEACHED!!! But the House & Senate decided/voted to LET him REMAIN in office to the end of his Term. Google it and you will find the story and date he WAS IMPEACHED. The Mainstream Media didn’t talk about it. They did announce it VERY Quickly in a VERY Short News report on air for 2 days. Most People didn’t pick up what they were saying.

      • Claire

        Janie— You are correct.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Janie, Clinton was impeached for lying under oath about having consequential sex with a female. Now how about impeaching a mass murderer by the Name of Cheney? I’m not defending Clinton nor condemning him either. My God will handle it in the right manner in due time. But which is the lesser evil? Now I have a question- How can anyone expect any human being to correct any situation, good, bad, evil, greedy and all based on corruption and lies and condemn a man because they feel he is not moving fast enough to correct years and years of wrong doings by many men that went before him? Got an answer for me? I’m willing to listen.

      • Claire

DeeD–I don’t know how any President will ever be able to straighten out this mess. It will take years and years, especially since it took decades to get into this chaos.

      • Claire

I wish to add the word “Congress” to my comment. Especially since it is Congress that has the true power.

      • DaveH

Obama isn’t making any effort to straighten out the mess. He is making it much, much messier.

The thing with Clinton was that he was representative of the party that made the Big Brouhaha about Sexual Harassment. If it is indeed a problem, there is no more powerful sexual harasser in the country than the president. If he isn’t expected to follow the code of ethics that his followers are suing Big Business about, then who is? Isn’t it odd how people will stick up for any kind of bad behavior as long as the perpetrator is in their gang?

And don’t whine to me about the Republicans; I’m not one of them.

      • Claire

DaveH–Not to worry. We all know you are a Libertarian. Me? After all these years, I do not consider myself a Republican or a Democrat anymore. I am shifting away from them.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

William; I would not call a voter an idiot – I will however call any voter who has not got the intelligence to return to the polls and try to correct a mistake the true idiot. Who are these people who keep putting the same bums into office election after election? Are they the idiots you are speaking of?

      • cr747

Dee D, Green back dollars will make a person do a lot of things. That’s how Obama got elected. One of the men behind it would be Chicago Mayor Daley himself. He is as crooked as they come. Of course he wasn’t the only one. He had to go out of Chicago to do it, so that people didn’t know him!!!!!!!!!

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

cr747- I think the green back dollar is the major reason most lawyers throw their hat into the political ring. They are intelligent enough to know they can lead the average joe blow around with a ring in their noses long enough to amass the pile of greenbacks they want to aquire. They only have to convince joe blow to be a good and faithful party liner and keep putting them in office term after term. It seems to be working pretty well for some of the worst scum bags. An honest politician doesn’t stand a chance because since he/she is not on the take their money vault is pretty bare. Money talks!!!!!!

      • cr747

Dee D, As you know I am an attorney, but you can bet your rear that I’m not banging on their doors to throw my hat in. If I did, it wouldn’t be for the money. I guarantee you that there are people in Washington that are not paying their fair share of taxes, but I don’t seem to see them turning mine down. My Dad was A Congressman for 16 years, and I do not want any part of it.
I am a democrat, but I vote for the individual. I do not care which they are, I will vote for the person that I believe will do the best job. That is why I did not vote for Obama!!!!!!!!!

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

cr747 – No I did not know you are an attorney. I really and truly know of only one honest attorney in my area. He’ll never get rich but he sure will take on any corrupt entity, which includes any crooked police department, city shyster or any judge who abuses the system in any way.
He will not shyster anyone. If you do not have a case he tells you up front you are beating a dead horse and it would drag out so long you would go broke before justice could be done.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

Way too many party loyalists Loyde. Many voters quit following the action to try to correct any mistake they make. They went and voted, so they done their duty as a citizen.

  • http://www.easyinvest.co.za pete

Where are the decent people coming from? Seems to me when they get elected they just go with the flow and enrich themselves and their buddies anyway; so they have an agenda to get elected and a separate agenda once they have been elected – sort of reminds me of someone!
The problem as I see it is that the one’s in power are always arrogant and the opposition is no better – so where does one go from there? Are we faced with a Hobson’s Choice situation here? That seems likely and therefore the idiocy just goes on. Nobody seems to care anymore whether anything makes sense – just keep going like a runaway train – I do not see either the Republicans or the Democrats solving the crises which face us and despair that we will find the answers.

No one is serious about fixing anything – just hell bent on preserving the mess – how is that going to help?

I have said it before and I say it once more. All that is created from borrowing and debt is worthless.

    • Flynn

I have a suggestion. Bolt both major parties and vote the Tea Party. Get out amid all the Tea Parties across this nation and throw all that rotten British tea into the sea the way the Boston patriots did at the first tea party. Sarah Palen may not be the one; but, at least, she is a start. Patrick Henry wasn’t the one either; but, at least, he had the guts to draw the line and say, “Give me liberty, or give me death.” Soon, General George Washington came along and put this nation on a path that made it last for over 200 years. Through a national Tea Party, another George Washington will come along to even out the imbalances in our nation and put it on a path to last another 200 years.

      • William Nealey

the problem with that is like Ross prot helped clinton I am afraid the tea party will only help the demacrats. we all know the average hard core demacrat is too stupid to vote any other way,

      • Vicki

You want us to vote for democrat lite claiming that voting for a real constitution supporting party (Say like the Libertarian party) is voting for a democrat. ? I don’t think so. Besides I tried for more than 30 years to vote for the lessor of 2 evils. Guess what we got. Yep. Evil.

      • AnhydrousBob

The real problem is that folks vote for the “lesser of the evils”. This can never reverse our trajectory, only slow it on its ultimate destination: destruction.

I’m voting for whoever is for SMALL government, and if some vote for someone because of an “R” by their name, then it is their fault for splitting the vote. Liberals only comprise 20% of this country according to polls.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

AnhydrousBob; I don’t think its so much voting for the lessor evil as it is trying to keep a decent balance in Washington between parties so one side can serve as watch dogs for the other side. Canm’t tell fact from fiction any more. Too many RINO’s, wolves in sheep clothing and way too many party jumpers now. You really do not know who, what or how low life contenders they are until they are in office and you see first hand how they vote.

      • Claire

DeeD–I will have to agree with you on this one. Once an politician enters the White House/Congress it is up for grabs.

      • DaveH

If Sarah Palin is representative of the Tea Party, don’t count on any government downsizing. The fact that she is stumping for John McCain tells me that she wouldn’t be up to the task.
There is only one Political Party that understands the Freedom that our Founders tried to institute in this country. That is the Libertarian Party.
There are those that say it doesn’t have a chance, but look what happened in the 23rd district of New York. Doug Hoffman splintered from the Republican Party and got 46% of the vote, compared to 48.3% by the Democrat winner. He would have won if the RINO Scozzafava hadn’t thrown her support to the Democrat.
If people really learned about the Principles of the Libertarian Party and why those principles would work, we would have no problem getting the vote. The main problem we have is the lack of exposure as neither the Democrat leaders or the Republican leaders want less Government (and less power).
Fortunately, Fox is breaking the mold and giving airtime to the Libertarians. John Stossel on Fox Business Channel is doing a terrific job of explaining our beliefs. Go John!
Let’s take our country back from the Politicians. Vote Libertarian:
        http://libertarianparty.org/platform

      • Bill H

DaveH – I guess you never heard of the Constitution Party. You may want to check them out Constitutionparty.com. You may find a new home. They are working hard to field candidates as we speak.

    • William Nealey

pete you are so right. now come election time go to the poles and carefully look at the mallot and unless the incumbant has an outstanding record of working for the people vote for his-her oppenant as I am going to do. I remember many years ago a guy I worked with in a furniture plant said his dad told him if you had to borrow money to buy anything you didn’t need it. you just thought you did. he said life wasn’t easey but his dad paid cash or did without,it’s obviouse his dad was no demacrat. that furniture plant along with many others has been closed for years now moved to china. so when you go to a thomasville gallarie you are looking at made in china. repaired in thomasville and repaked in thomasville. I would not buy one stick of thomasville or any other brand unless they could prove to me it was made here at home,

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

Thanks William. In the very near future I need to buy various pieces of new furniture. In the past, I really liked Thomasville but now no way. Thanks for the tip.

Amen! But as liberals and their ilk don’t read this page, we are preaching to the choir

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

Don’t count on that George. A smart person wants to know what an enemy is thinking. Why do you believe there are so many name calling and put down experts yaa whos that spew a lot of lies? Better yet – why do they feel they have to lie? Why are they afraid of truth? One even better yet – WHY ARE SO MANY WILLING TO BELIEVE A LIE AND FIGHT AND DEFEND IT OVER TRUTH IN THE FIRST PLACE????????

  • http://www.data-technologies.net Pete Gandy

    Mr. Wood,
I agree with everything you said except one that appears to be a little out of touch.
I may have misunderstood you on the Entitlements issues you listed.
I agree with all of them except the Social Security issues.

The Social Security was and is, “as I see it” funded from individual contributions/confiscation of money direct to SS not to any other pool of money.
Well that’s the way it’s supposed to be.
I believe those who have have paid into SS a life time have a right to have the money returned. It should be returned with interest.
Your favorite President LBJ and cronies moved the SS funds into the general pool in the sixties and then they created a new entitlement, “Welfare.”
Now the bulk of the money “contributed/confiscated” for SS is being distributed to those who never have or will pay into it. All the while complaining that it takes 2.5 workers to pay for the SS. I hope you know that just isn’t true!

Certainly those who paid in have an entitlement to have money returned at old age, “the original intent.”
So if I misread you I apologize but people of age to draw SS are just getting some of the money back they are, “ENTITLED” to. Actually they should be getting it all back plus interest.

Certainly you would have no objection to a person getting back money that was put into a pool that was to be reserved to be returned later.
Take the welfare bullshit out of SS and there would be no SS funding problems. It would and did have more than enough money in the fund. Oh but our good little Democrats noticed the money so decided that it needed to be spent.
    Their good at that!

    • Time

Pete, I may be wrong, but I think what Mr. Wood is saying is that our SS paid in has been used to pay for Illegal’s for years amoung other things.
The SS story is a long one, if every American read how it was started, as well how its been perverted over the years, it would boggle the mind.

      • http://www.data-technologies.net Pete Gandy

        Thanks sir,
That’s why I apologized in advance if I misread him.
I don’t think he said it very clearly as he just listed SS as one of the entitlements that I read as a problem for him. Actually it is more than a SS problem it is robing the SS system that is a problem.

        Again,

        Thanks,
        Pete

      • DaveH

        I agree with you Pete.

      • AnhydrousBob

Mr Gandy, with all due respect, sir, Social Security really is just a Ponzi scheme run by the government whereby the early participants are paid with the money later participants pay in. There is no money ever held in escrow, or “banked” in any way. There was a surplus at one time, and that was blatantly stolen, but SS was, from it’s conception, a plan than could never be self supporting.

    • William Nealey

mr. Grandy you are so spot on.the damned demacrats are buy money as an alcolick is to liqure. they can’t spend enough nor fast enough. Iremember well when lbj and his theiving cohorts decided the social security fund had too much money in it and decided it was their personal slush fund. but you see they are not on the social security system so they could care less about it. the sooner we get rid of them all the better for the country. I hope we can get some people in who truely care for the country and not some more scumbags lookin for the graveytrain and a free ride.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Mr Nealey: It is not only the Demorats (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaas you so eloquently put it) that has played Russian Roulette with our private investment of Social Security since FDR gave birth to it in the 30′s. I have payed into it from day one and have followed it’s progress for years. If each and every administration would restore the surplus they have all mis-appropriated and used for everything except it’s intended purpose, it would in fact be one of the most healthy, successful and richest programs ever started in Washington for main street citizens. They keep adding non productive peoples and while allowing other entities to not enroll in the program, but allow the blue collar workers to help pay for their private investments. The two parties feel what is good enough for the common man is not good enough for them. WHY – WHY?
For over 40 years the Republican Party has tried to desmantle the program altogether. WHY? Could the reason be because a Democrat President gave birth to the program? Do they fear that in the final analysis it is THE most successful program installed for the average joe blow and was not brought about by the Republican party????? The last attempt to dismantle the program was when CHENEY wanted Bush Jr to privatize it. The Republican party has fought Medicare, Medicade and a respectable health program that could and would benefit every citizen in America. WHY IS THIS? But better, yet, why are half intelligent voters unable to ask themselves and receive an answer to this question? With are the self granted $1,000.00 (plus) raises they vote for themselves not good enough to be granted to the same people who have financed this country from square one? What’s their fear? Are they afraid we will take control of our government since we the people ARE the GOVERNMENT and they are our employees?
Why does the Republican party want to take every penny they can get away with from every program in operation? Worker’s Comp. (illegal coin deal in Ohio – Taft and Noe),private retirement programs for the public servants in our country (teacher’s, firefighters, police officers, state employees, school bus drivers and the list goes on and on.(Montgomery and Petro was supposed to be guarding – money mis-appropriated, non returned and no prosecutions)
Now for the final blow to your ego—- Social Security checks are being mailed to many citizens in foreign countries because of the sponsorship program dreamed up by some representative in Washington and got rich on it until it ended and the blue collar worker is having to pay the final tab for such a brilliant idea. But the one really bad program that truly put a hurt on the American worker in the work force was the hard care act. In case you know not of what I speak – do a little research – then give yourself a good swift kick in the seat of your pants for doing nothing to help yourself , family , relative or neighbor. Just remember, we the people are the government and we have and are still doing a lousy job running our country.

    • Al Spiker

Yes the social security has been all but destroyed by our free spending politicians. What used to be excess is gone, and I may have to continue to work until I die! Health care will result in the same thing. It’s all about the money. Always was, always will be. Then in a few years the government will be crying that it has all gone south and they need more money. If there wasn’t going to be some sort of windfall for the damn politicians they wouldnt be pushing for it so hard!

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Al – I feel if main street Americans forced our employees in Washington to live by the same rules they mandate for us we could turn Washington around and in a hurry. They would scuttle around like the little rats they are to make all better and fix up everything if they also had to live it. Then come election time vote them out. Do not give them time to rob us. Think about it voters – You do have the power to do something – Get off your duff – become an American who is willing to do somethng to help.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

Pete, I feel you are in error when you say the Democrats have dipped into SS and used it for everything except it’s intended purpose. A Democrat gave birth to SS wanting to help the financial providers for this country from square one.(FDR) Alas, every administration since (both Democrat and Republican) have dipped into and mis-appropriated the surplus and used it for everything their cold heart desired. The Republican party fought SS tooth and nail, just like they have Medicare, Medicade and a decent health care program (for the past 40 yrs.) every citizen has a right to. They keep trying to abolish the whole program through privatation, bringing new non contributing groups into the plan and now are sending SS checks to citizens in many different countries because of the sponsorship program that many wealthy CEO’s made many bucks off of but the blue collar worker is paying the tab. Why do they want to destroy the program? Maybe because if we call in our markers it will be one of the most successful, richest programs instilled that will benefit the most and the most deserving citizens in our country? Or maybe it was because it was given birth by a Democrat and since it was not a Republican implemented program they just can not accept the fact they failed at protecting and working for their constituents? Why do the Republicans feel main street citizens do not deserve to have a slice of the American apple pie, but they do? They only needed us to keep the greenbacks rolling into Washington and when the stream started to trickle they turned to aiding and abetting big business to raise the big bucks and to hadies with the blue collar workers. You see all our manufacturers jumping ship for the cheap sweatshop labor and we stupid consumers are helping them every step of the way by not leaving the junk lay on the shelves. And by all means keep going to the polls and putting the same scumbags into office election after election. We must give them all the time they need to get all the wealth they can before they are voted out of office. SMART aren’t we????????

        DD:

You need to look at some facts that you are apparently not privy to:

        1. “A Democrat gave birth to SS wanting to help the financial providers for this country from square one.(FDR)”

Yes, DD. The second communist president of the US (FDR) pushed SS thru to give the government more power and to enhance his “wealth redistribution” scheme designed to undermine the Constitution and enlarge and grow the numbers of economic slaves in his welfare system so as to keep getting re-elected. The only “financial providers” he was trying to help was himself and the socialist party which he headed.

        2. “The Republican party fought SS tooth and nail”

Of course they fought this socialist plan which any patriotic, pro-American, Pro-Constitution American should.

        3. “every citizen has a right to (health care)”

Of course every American has a right to a decent Health Care Program, but not one funded by tax dollars and run by the itiots in congress.

        4. “You see all our manufacturers jumping ship for the cheap sweatshop labor and we stupid consumers…..”

Yes, and why are companies going to countries with lower labor and production cost? Simple: With the highest corporate income tax in the western world, with endless, federal regulations, with frivolous never ending law suits, with constant government interference and meddling, the cost of production is so high that the US cannot compete on the world market. Get the government out of the way, eliminate the unnecessary and nonsensual federal regulations (The EPA’s ludicrus ruling that CO2 is a poisionous gas comes to mind), eliminate the corporate income tax and replace it with a reasonable consumption tax, allow the US to develop their own natural resources (oil/gas/coal and etc), build nuclear power stations to provide cheap emissions-free elec power, and allow the free market to work, and I think even the brain dead liberals could see that the US could be, once again, a world leader in production of goods and services as well as have the lowest unemployment numbers in the world. But of course that would mean a reduction in the size and power of BIG GOVERNMENT, and we will never have that as long as the socialist are in control.

        5. “They keep trying to abolish the whole program through privatation, bringing new non contributing groups into the plan and now are sending SS checks to citizens in many different countries because of the sponsorship program that many wealthy CEO’s made many bucks off of but the blue collar worker is paying the tab.”

By “They” you are of course talking about those evil republicans. And if they are trying to “abolish” this rotten system, I support them 100%. But I think, once again, you have your facts wrong: “bringing new non contributing groups into the plan” I assume you would be referring to the 20 million illegals to whom the socialist party and islamobama are attempting to offer citizenship (once again to hopefully form a voting block that will keep getting them elected).
As far as “sending SS checks to citizens in many different countries”, are you saying the socialist had nothing to do with writing the laws that allow this? Those evil republicans passed all those laws without the socialist knowing about it?

Having said all that, I realize it is a waste of time since facts never influence a liberal anyway. So, all I can say is that the socialist love brain dead liberals since it helps them move us closer to the brave new world of the NWO.

I agree with some of what you say and disagree with other parts of your comments. I did not see FDR as a communist. I saw a man who was a cripple (due to polio) who wanted to do good for a good country and her people. I did not like the way he handled the gold. but then no one is perfect.
By the they who made big bucks on the sponsorship program – I am speaking about all the immigrants who were paid to come to America – work at American jobs, aided in purchasing businesses. starting businesses, getting medical assistance, homes, cars and anything else to help them succeed. Living tax free for the first 5 years but have to pay their sponsor a percentage of their earnings. The top CEO’S were in the positions to give them the best and easy jobs while the blue collar worker made it on his own or done without.
Another program that started breaking the backs of the working sector was the program that took my, yours and every tax payers money to pay industry 50% of wages paid for every hard core worker placed on the pay roll. They were hired over serious people who wanted, needed and would have worked had they been given the opportunity. When any elected representative will pick and choose for the big bucks and turn their backs on their own constituents and fellow citizens – sorry Charlie – I call them traitors. There is so much that takes place behind closed doors in Washington there are not enough hours for any one person to stay abreast of all that goes down and 99.99% of all reps are in it for every penny they can get and they do not care who they step on to get it.
You say high prices is causing industry to leave our shores. I can not blame the workers for getting anything they can get because they knew how bad they were being used. When they were working they also put their money back into the economy.

By the way chipshot – I am opposed to the One World Government and I want to see who will rule at the top of the mountain, because that is what will be happening. I do not appreciate you pre-judging me either, but that seems to be the agenda for party loyalists who put their party line ahead of what is best for a whole country. One more fact to be analyzed — Talk is the cheapest commodity God gave mankind but basically all I ever hear from a party loyalist right winger is a bunch of jibber-jabbering and shouting down an opponent. Only a Republican has the correct answers even if a few falsehoods are scattered here and there to make a point. I also hear a lot of hatred and looking down the nose at all who are not in their party linage.

Who is prejudging whom? Since it is obvious I am not a socialist then I must be a repub? Guess again. In my mind there is little difference between the repubs and the socialist. If I had to put a label on my political beliefs I would come nearer a Libertarian. Or maybe more correctly a Constitutionalist.

chipshot- I myself am an Independent. I try to do some homework and then try to pick the one I feel will do a good job for my country and each and every citizen. I’ve been wrong many times – so I follow the votes and the money and return to the polls to try to correct my mistakes. I also try to set my own term limits. When we voters keep putting in the same scum bags election after election we are telling them its okay for them to shaft us. How few realize we are able to set term limits on our employees instead of asking them to do it for us.

I’m not from Texas but one of their sayings fits the bill: Obama is all Hat and No Cattle. He talks a good game but persists in acting exactly opposite to what he says. His words are deficit hawk. His actions, well, they speak for themselves. http://www.thefedupamerican.com

I’m from Texas and I think this president’s elevator doesn’t go to the penthouse.

Well maybe I’m wrong on that one.
You eat beans and ground beef. He eats and treats his guests, “on your money” to $300.00 Kobie steaks in the Penthouse, Uhhh White House.

AMEN! If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS and unfortunately about 53% of the population love that flavor but when it gets over your nose , you will smother to death and take the rest of us with you.

Remember it has long been said that it is by their fruits that you shall know them. Said in the Bible about prophets it applies just as well to politicians and to people in general.

    • BOE

The sad and very scary thing is that Obama is really mentally ill. Narcissum is real and so is sociopathy. How in world we got in this mess is becoming clear. These 2 mental illnesses or very difficult to see through. We have been had by the likes of George Soros, the Saudi`s and muslims.

      • Time

        BOE,
Its called “POLITICANS.” Now, can you see how it all happens.
Think of a little lizard that changes its color to adapt to its enviroment.

Or as Marx’s said a truth today may not be true tomorrow. Its truth of the monent.
