The Death of Obamacare

January 29, 2010 by

The Death of Obamacare

Well, how about those voters in Massachusetts? They just elected a Republican as the new senator from the Bay State. Scott Brown defeated Martha Coakley for the seat Ted Kennedy held for more than 40 years. Brown’s victory has the left stumbling like a punch-drunk fighter who’s taken one too many hits to the head.

There goes the Democrats’ filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. There goes Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) ability to bribe and bluster his way to getting healthcare passed. There goes Barack Obama’s plan to socialize the rest of the United States economy that Uncle Sam doesn’t already control.

And in all probability, there goes Obamacare.

To all of my friends and colleagues on the right, go ahead and gloat a bit. You deserve it. And it’s been a long time since you could.

Massachusetts has long prided itself on being one of the bluest of the blue states. Barack Obama defeated John McCain there by a 26-point margin. Democrats outnumber Republicans in the Bay State by almost three-to-one.

Ah, but independents in the Bay State are the ones who determine political victory. And like a majority of voters in the rest of the country, they are sick and tired of growing government, massive deficits, a sick economy and politicians who lie to them.

There has been a boatload of explanations offered for what happened and what it means. Some on the loony left even insist that Brown’s victory—and his campaign promise to help kill the healthcare bill—shouldn’t make any difference. They insist the Democrats still have enough votes to pass a healthcare bill on a “reconciliation” vote.

In case you’re not familiar with this parliamentary maneuver, essentially it’s a gimmick by which a simple majority in the House and Senate can approve the final version of two similar bills which were previously approved by both branches of Congress.

Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Committee, has been quoted as saying, “Even before Massachusetts and that race was on the radar screen, we prepared for the process of using reconciliation.”

Frankly, I’d like to see them try. If you think there’s a lot of anger at Congress in the country now, just wait until you see what would happen if they forced Obamacare into law. The uproar would be so loud and long I doubt if many who voted “aye” would dare show their faces in public for months.

In the face of Scott Brown’s stunning victory, many Democrats are reconsidering their positions. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), an ultra-liberal congressman, says bluntly that Congress “will have to start over on healthcare.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who once claimed that everything was “on course” for a speedy passage, now says she doesn’t have the votes to get the Senate’s healthcare bill approved.

Bart Stupak (D-Mich.), whose anti-abortion plank was crucial to getting Obamacare passed in the House, showed he looks at his mail when he declared: “Sweetheart deals and backroom negotiations may have secured 60 votes in the Senate, but it has left the American public disillusioned.”

Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) has warned his fellow democrats that ignoring the lessons from Massachusetts will “lead to even further catastrophes” for their party. “There’s going to be a tendency on the part of our people to be in denial about all of this,” Bayh said. Then he added, “If you lose Massachusetts and that’s not a wake-up call, there’s no hope of waking up.”

Speaking of denial, here’s the most incredible comment on the Massachusetts election I’ve heard yet: “Here’s my assessment of not just the vote in Massachusetts, but the mood around the country: The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept [Barack Obama] into office.”

If you find that almost laughably absurd, wait until I told you who said it. Here’s a hint: Instead of “[Barack Obama]” in the sentence above, substitute the word “me.” Yes, it was none other than our illustrious president, in a recent interview with George Stephanopoulos.

As unbelievable as that statement was, listen to the excuse that followed: “We were so busy just getting stuff done and dealing with the immediate crises that were in front of us,” the president explained, “that I think we lost some of that sense of speaking directly to the American people about what their core values are and why we have to make sure those institutions are matching up with those values.”

The problem is that the president hasn’t communicated enough with the American people? Give me a break. The Obama Administration is the most media-obsessed group ever to occupy the White House. CBS News ran some statistics revealing just how much time our Teleprompter in Chief has spent in front of an audience since he took office:

  • In his first 365 days in office, Obama made more than 400 public speeches. Some 52 of them were devoted to healthcare.
  • Obama has held 42 press conferences, four of them in prime time and broadcast on national television. That’s twice as many press conferences as George W. Bush held in his first year.
  • Thus far, Obama has given 158 exclusive interviews to various reporters, far more than any of his predecessors in the White House.
  • Plus, the president has conducted an additional 23 town hall meetings around the country to drum up support for his programs.

As anyone who can count past three could easily tell, the problem isn’t that we’ve heard too little from the president. The problem is that he’s tried to do too much that most Americans don’t like.

We were promised “hope and change.” Instead, we got a bait and switch, with every single proposal coming out of the White House costing more money and building more government than Americans wanted.

Will the President now shift to the right? His State of the Union message will contain some clues. I have to submit this column before I’ll get to hear it, however. So look for an analysis in this space next week.

Five months ago, I wrote a Straight Talk column predicting that the public would get fed up with the President’s radical effort to push this country to the left. The title of that Sept. 4 article was “How Barack Obama Will Destroy Liberalism.” In it I said, “To put it as succinctly as possible, Barack Obama seems determined to preside over the most radical transformation of the Federal Government this country has ever seen. And the American people don’t want it.”

Then I added, “I think we are witnessing the beginning of the end of liberal domination in Washington. I think Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and Barack Obama have badly underestimated the American people. They lied about what they’d do and they badly misjudged how much we would endure. The counter-revolution has begun.”

And I concluded by saying, “Yes, the era of big government will soon be over. And we’ll have Barack Obama and all of his over-reaching cronies to thank for it.”,

Thanks to the people of Massachusetts for bringing that time one day closer.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

Obama is far worse than either Jimmy Carter or LBJ. He is failing fast & failing big! He has no clue about national security, is failing domestically, and is a laughing stock in the rest of the world.

This poor guy has no experience doing anything substantial, and is in way over his head. He has surrounded himself with Marxists, crooks and liars like himself.

U.S. citizens are tired of him and he won’t be back for a 2nd term. Just wait until the 2010 Mid-Term elections. It will be a democratic dirge.

Had things not turned around there would certainly have been a violent revolution in this country. It would have made 1861 – 1865 look like a birthday party. The reason Obama was mouthing off about a “civilian defense force” was that he knew it would be coming.

From a retired Army Colonel who loves America………..

    • Harold Olsen

You’re giving Obama more credit than he deserves. It isn’t that he doesn’t have a clue about our nation’s security. It’s that he just doesn’t give a damn. And that’s what I hate about the idiots on all the news channels. Even Fox. They all treat him as though he does care.

    • Meteorlady

With the current public education system I wonder what will happen when all the Seniors are gone. They seem to be the only ones anymore with knowledge of how things happened, what the results of those actions were, and how things have gotten to where they are. Schools certainly don’t teach any of this anymore, nor do they work to really educate children, they just pass then to the next grade and hope the will finally learn something. When they can’t rewrite history, they quit teaching it. Stay with us Seniors, we need you right now, you are a strong force in the current political environment.

  • minnie

I can’t wait for 2012 to elect a new President that is not a democrat period, a socialist. I can’t wait for Nov. 2010. Our goals for our country, what people believed they had elected was totally different than the goals of this president and that is why obama believes he has earned a B+. Most people believe obama’s grade is either incomplete or an F. When you can understand that our goals and his goals are and were totally different, that is why he really believes he deserves a B+. He has not finished destroying our country, and he will not change course, he plans to get an A+ WHEN HE REACHES HIS GOAL,and we will have no rights at all.

    • DaveH

We can’t give Obama an “F”. That would damage his self-esteem. That is, if such a thing is even possible for such a Narcissistic guy.

  • john

If only the morons that voted for obama would have read a little they would have learned that he was a fake and a great lier, when he started to blame the Bush era for the claps of the U.S. that was also a lie.The one who started this mess was Jim Carter along with The Clinton and than came acorn with obama that wanted to sue citi backfor not giving out loans to people that could not qualify . Yes blame others for what you have done.I do not watch abc nor do i with cnn or nbc the media to is full of it ! they have only helped obama get elected by not exposing the truth .i say go FOX news , at least fox news gives all people the true news of the day GO FOX GO !!!!

    • Harold Olsen

Calling them morons is an understatement. Everyone I know who voted for this Nazi could not really give me a reason why they were supporting him Those that did said it was because he was black.

    • cr747

john, You can also tell in their body english or body language Referring to his movements, his method of his speech. There’s many different ways to read a person making a speech, or even a statement!!!!!!!!1

  • C. Taylor

Kenneth, I loved what you wrote. It cracked me up. I thought I was the only one who would express my feelings so strongly. Everytime he is on the TV I call him a liar. I cannot stand to even look at him much less listen to him. I hate liars, cheaters, and thieves and I think that sums up the description of him and his followers (Pelosi and Reid). If only they would have allowed the Republicans to set in on the Healthcare crap and actually argue it. Maybe we would have not been so mad. They keep hiding everything from us. Where is the Transparency??? Again, LIAR. What is this, they are going to put Websites up so we can see where all the spending is going? Right, even that can be fabricated. On the State of the Union Address, he stated that he is open for any suggestions for the healthcare bill. LIAR, the Republicans still are trying to propose their ideals and they will not listen. Obama and his group are like little kids, they are not grown adults who can set down and talk and come to a happy medium. Just because they hold the Title does not mean they are exempt from the laws. I need to get back to work, my blood pressure is going up right now.

    • DaveH

The only HealthCare Bill that is acceptable to me is one that would remove Government intrusion in the HealthCare Market.

      • BrianO

        Bullseye.

  • Gideon Jones

The Keystone supports the structure. Pull out the Keystone and the structure crumbles. The Keystone in this monstrosity is the Fact that obama is not a legal President. He is an imposer whose actions and beliefs are identical to those held by radical islamists who hate America. The Founders provided a way to remove such when and if the Congress abdicated their duty to do so. That means is the appointing of a Grand Jury who would have authority over any other and who would identify ,indict ,convict, and punish the guilty and restore to office
only those who qualify by Birth and word and deed to uphold and defend the Constitution and the American ideals. God Bless America.

    • DaveH

      From http://campus.udayton.edu/~grandjur/faq/faq1.htm

“Unlike trial juries, grand juries don’t decide if someone is guilty of criminal charges that have been brought against them. Grand juries listen to evidence and decide if someone SHOULD be charged with a crime.”

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Dave – 99.99% of our so called reps in Washington should be chasrged with all the crimes they’ve been guilty of commiting – But alas MONEY TALKS loud and precise and very clear.

  • Siridh

Dave Harris: Stop slurping the kool-aid. It was both houses of congress with brainstorms like the Community Reinvestment Act (Carter), ramped up under Clinton, repeal of Glass-Stengel (Gramm), and Fannie and Freddie supported and protected by Frank & Dodd. The bursting of the housing bubble is what collapsed our economy. Republicans trying to do something were stopped by a Democratic congress.

We need independents not beholden to party ideology in our Congress. People who will seek to do the right thing — not tow a party line.

    • Harold Olsen

“We need independents not beholden to party ideology in our Congress. People who will seek to do the right thing — not tow a party line.”

Does such and animal exist?? I wonder.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Harold – Another big Amen. Lets think for ourselves for a change.

    • DaveH

The problem with those kind of candidates (independent) would be learning what they actually stand for. We could do it, of course, but how many people would put in that kind of effort? Imagine, for instance, buying unbranded products. They might be wonderful, but how many people want to risk their money on an unknown?
What I object to, however, is the belief that there can be only Two Political Parties. I think we should have several, so that people could vote for a political party that more closely resembled their ideals instead of voting for the “lesser of two evils”.

      • Tinwarble

        DaveH,

That’s the crux of the problem though isn’t it, people want do the research. And without people doing the research and finding out about the people they are voting for they don’t know what they are getting. It doesn’t matter what party someone belongs, because anyone can be lied to if you don’t know where someone stands. And most of the time, in politics anyway, you do have to settle with the “Lesser of 2 evils”, even the Founding Fathers, when forming this country, did not get everything each one wanted.

      • DaveH

As in product branding, Tin, one bad apple can make the box of apples look bad. So the Parties have a vested interest in making sure the individuals represent their parties closely.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

Siridh — AMEN -= forget party loyalties.

      • Markk

Can you? You sure seem to defend the Dumocrats all the time. You talk like one.

    • Meteorlady

That would be Glass-Steagall Act – it was put into effect after the Depression so that it would never happen again. Clinton repealed it in 1999, evidently didn’t believe this worked for him or the current government and all those poor people that deserved a house no matter if they could afford the payments or not.

  • Ken Fawcett

Ok folks lets give the man a break. He is a great speaker, appears to be a good father and husband. Ok, thats it! As our president, and I choke on the word, he leaves much to be desired. So far he has done little or nothing for the USA but put us deeper in debt than we have ever been.

As a vet it really chapped me to see him bow to other heads of state. We haven’t fought our wars to have our head of state bow to anyone. And to have him tell other heads of state that the USA is not a christian nation? Where does he get off speaking for we the people with things like this?

In my humble opinion the best thing he could do for this country is bow out, quit, be gone, etc. Vice president Biden could, and probably would, do a much better job. But God help us if something should happen to him. With Nancy at the helm we would be in much deeper kaw kaw than we are now.

Congress do us a favor and put limits on how much time he can put on that Boeing 747 called Air Force One. His fule burn from engine start to takeoff is greater than most of us use in a year. While you are at it force Nancy to move to Washington. Five million a year in taxpayer dollars is a bit much for her commute from Californa to Washington and return.

    • American Citizen

I just don’t get that so many think he’s a great speaker. He turns me off big time. His strident way of talking is nothing more than preaching at us. And if you hear one of his speeches, you’ve heard them all.

    • Harold Olsen

No, he’s not a great speaker. He’s a reader. Before he can say anything it must be written out for him and put on a teleprompter for him to read. And if that teleprompter breaks down, he’s sunk. He doesn’t know what to say because there is no sincerity in anything that he talks about. And he is just too stupid to speak without a script.

      • DaveH

The problem is that no human being could memorize all the speeches he gives. I turn the channel whenever I see his face, and that is often these days.

      • Markk

Yeah, he gives too many speeches. Reminds me of Hitler and his speech giving. If you lie often enough some foolish person will believe you. We seem to have one or two among us now.

      • Tinwarble

        DaveH,

Speeches, those aren’t speeches they’re lectures. Even when he went to the Republican retreat, he didn’t talk with them, he just gave them a lecture. And I have never heard a speech(es) in which someone said “I” so much.

      • American Citizen

Someone called in this morning to a radio talk show and said he counted how many times Obama used the work “I” or derivatives of it. He came up with 89. And that didn’t include the word “me”.

      • cr747

He is definitely sold on himself!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Meteorlady

His speeches are eloquent; however, his delivery is arrogant and condescending which tells me a little about his real personality. He tells us exactly what he thinks we want to hear just like when he campaigned. Other than that he is not a leader – he is just a community organizer who runs about the country giving speeches like he’s still on the campaign trail. I want someone to get in there and roll up their sleeves and get to work, not run here and campaigning.

      • Sunny

I may be one of the few who do not find his speeches eloquent. His cadence which I can only describe as “chop and drop” is sooo annoying. He speaks in chopped segments and drops the end. Nevertheless, it is WHAT he says that is so frightening and so very destructive to our Republic. The bottom line is he wants to transform America into something dark and weak and dependent and without hope. We cannot let that happen.

      • DaveH

He hesitates after each sentence so his Sycophantic audience can stand and clap as if his has said something brilliant.

      • JeffH

..have you noticed his pattern of mmm, ehhh, ahhh when his eyes redirect to the teleprompter for his next sentance.

      • Tinwarble

        Sunny,

He is not eloquent, without his telepromter he can’t speak in complete sentences. Take a look at this:

        http://www.teleprompterpresident.com/2009/04/stumbling-bumbling-obama-at-g20.html

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Meteorlady- It’s all in the eye of the beholder what each receives from the taiks and Obama being damed if he does or he does not, at least can read and does not butcher the english language. He doen’t need a radio strapped to his back either.

      • Markk

        Well good for him.

      • Tinwarble

Oh, yes, he is brilliant isn’t he, yet he can’t even pronounce ORION. Watch this:

        http://www.teleprompterpresident.com/2009/03/teleprompter-cant-help-obama-pronounce-orion.html

      • Tinwarble

And he is so good with history to, especially his own:

        http://www.teleprompterpresident.com/2008/10/obamas-funnie-1.html

      • cr747

Dee D, Have you been hypnotized by someone? You are out of line again. This doesn’t sound like you!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Meteorlady

What the heck is a “radio strapped to my back”? I don’t listen to much on TV or the radio. I read – alot. As for the rest – I look at what he actually does, not what he says. They just don’t match nor did they match up when he campaigned.

      • cr747

Dee D, you have disappointed me in some of your comments. No, he doesn’t need a radio on his back. He seems to be perfectly comfortable with the wire he wears attached to his ear.
That way they can tell him where the bathroom is at, what time his meetings are, and of course what to say….
If he where to lose communication through the wire and his teleprompter, he would be in a big mess.
It took him 15 minutes to think of an answer for a lady in New Hampshire today that ask him a question. He walked back an forth on the stage mumbling, and trying to be funny, then he even joked with the lady that ask him the question. I had to get back in court before I heard the answer. I bet it was a good one though.
He is a sorry excuse for a president. I also saw today were some more Democrats are going to retire before they get beat out in November!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • JDR Sr

Well Mr.Ken Fawcett, I’m a old old VETERAN well in my 70′s. You must have tunnel vision when it comes to bowing down to other heads of state. You can only see and hear what you want to. Mr. Bush kissed a arab shiek on the mouth and walked around holding hands with him. Pictures were in the news from coast to coast.

Know what….. it is the custom it shows respect when you visit other countries. GET OVER IT. You are not very savie when it comes to presidents meeting heads of states.

      • Tinwarble

        JDR Sr,

It is not customary for one head of state to bow to another head of state. Bowing is a sign of submission, not a sign of respect, apparently you could become a little more savvy yourself.

      • Claire

        Truthfully, I would have preferred a fist-bump.

      • cr747

JDR Sr, The reason he bowed was because he is a Muslim!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Don

Great article! This man, with his eloquent words will lead us in despair, if, we don’t stay diligent as a freedom, christian nation, stand up for our values and principles, he will destroy us.In 2012, cast your vote to get him out of office! Lets shake up his liberal followers in 2010.

  • http://www.nosmog.com ROBERT

NATURALLY WE ALL AMERICANS REALLY DON’T NEED “OBAMACARE” AT ALL!. WE HAVE VERY GOOD “MEDICARE AND MEDICAL PROGRAMS” BUT ONLY NEEDS ARE TO “REFORMING THEM” AND DO BETTER THAN IN PAST AND CHEAPER COSTS FOR GOVERNMENT THAN SPENDINGS FOOLISH AND COSTLY AND SENSELESS JUST LIKE ” NO BRAINS INSIDE HARRY REID AND NANCY PELOSI” ALSO THANKS TO HARRY AND NANCY FOR RUINED OBAMA’S CARE !.
WE CAN GET START REFORMING MEDICARE AND MEDICAL NOW THAN MORE OF “YAK-YAK-YAK” AND BRAGGING AROUND AT CAPITOL HILL .. OBAMACARE IS DEAD FOR EVER !.

    • American Citizen

What would you change about Medicare other than paying 100% of the charges? Even with Part B and insurance supplements, we still pay $8000 a year for our medical care. Everybody says change Medicare, but don’t say how. That in itself is scary.

      • DaveH

Any form of insurance leads to abuse of the insured product. In this instance, people use the medical services much more than they would if they had to pay from their own pockets. Also, the doctor/patient relationship is damaged with the Medicare police trying to dictate the Doctor’s and Patient’s choices. Many doctors are starting to turn away Medicare patients for that reason.
When Reagan was in office and greatly suppressed the inflation rate, there was one industry that continued to increase prices yearly at a dramatic pace – the Medical Industry. This is a result of Government meddling in the HealthCare Industry. Big Government is the Problem; they are not the solution.

      • DaveH

Getting Government out of HealthCare is the Solution:
        http://mises.org/freemarket_detail.aspx?control=279

      • American Citizen

When you are elderly, on a fixed income and have health problems, do you realize how much it costs? I already said it costs us $8,000 a year and could get worse as I have now come up with a vision problem. If you’re healthy, it’s easy to say pay for it yourself.

      • JC

AC, when Dave H says get the government out of health care he makes sense, and not just for some. What many don’t realize then now under the so called “free market” heath system the government is already subsidizing and controlling cost (Ins. Companies)to the tune of about 40% of total annual heath care expenditures. In other words the system is by no means “free market”. If the government were to withdraw itself by 100%, we would soon have a competetive market and we would see medical clinics springing up everywhere. We would see more, not fewer Doctors and we would see more of them trained in the US. In other words, “they” would be competing for your business.
They wouldn’t have a government sanctioned monopoly. The Obama care fiasco would simply put an official stamp on what already exists and expand…what already exists. Then older folks might find that while the care available is cheaper…it isn’t really available. Those with serious problems in Canada are waiting 3 to 6 months for an MRI and many are dying while on waiting lists. Emergency room wait times average 14 hours. Is this a better alternative?

      • JC

PS, when the Annointed One himself says that older people just might have to deal with “end of life issues” doesn’t that set off an alarm or two?

      • judy marie

i do agree that big government is part of the problem. but a reactionary citizenry is keeping us from getting our stuff toghether. if the health care were to fail, there would be free clinics all over, doctors could afford to volunteer their services, and there would be no goverrnment regulations that say you need five nurses for fifty clients…the homeless poplulation is facing a 10 year ending the homeless plan, started in 200 counties accrosss the nation. and guess what, it starts like the childrens protection acts which grew to foster hoomes, and youth homes, group homes, and a self-perpetuating system that keeps people enployed BY THE GOVERNMENT for the SAKE of society. how many other proghrams can you think of like that.
sorry..i am upset and my words get mixed up. my fingers get confused.
we got to stop the fighting in color, race, sex, religion,
i am a human. i like sex. i believe in god. and guns are a necessity.
the government already caused me enough trouble-

i pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america,
and to the republic for which it STOOD…one nation, under god, individsable with liberty and justice for all.
sometimes justice means we get to sleep under a bush, with no laws against it.!!!

      • Meteorlady

Sad, but Medicare was a misguided effort by LBJ. We should have protested then. If he wanted to do something he should have done payroll deductions into a health care account that was for each working individual. With just interest on the money in that account we would have had health care – really good health care – for the rest of our retired lives. Now we have a hugh government bureaucracy that eats up 1/2 the money before it reaches us who paid for it, the costs have skyrocketed and now a lot of doctors and hospitals will not take any more Medicare recipients because it does not even cover their costs. If you disbanded the bureaucracy, fired all the government workers it takes to run this program (not very well I might add), sold the equipment and buildings and gave every person eligible for Medicare the money, we would be able to purchase better health insurance and the cost of the program would go away. Yeah, I know – we can’t just get rid of an entire agency that performs badly but we should.

      • DaveH

        Well said MeteorLady.

      • MW

Back in the late 1950′s my maternal grandparents both turned 65 & never had a problem getting a good hospitalization/surgical insurance policy. In that era, you did not have insurance picking up every doctor visit, perscription & examination. All of these were out of pocket expenses & very inexpensive to say the least. An eye exam was about 3 dollars & prescription glasses between about 12 dollars. Many doctors charged also on the ability to pay realizing that some patients could not afford health insurance or had limited coverage as in the case of my grandparents. Also, many doctors still made house calls & were able to provide charity services. What destroyed this was the advent of full coverage health insurance(most union memebers had that type of coverage back them), government intervention starting with Medicare/Medicaid, a proliferation of malpractice litigation forcing doctors’ & hospitals’ premiums way up & advances in biotechnology (drugs, diagnostic equipment, modern surgical techniques & medical facilities construction). As a result, simple health care availble to everyone well over a half century ago has turned into the quagmire it is today. Granted too, greed has manifested itself in the health care system. From expensive drugs, to multi million dollar malpractice settlements to Medicare fraud, there seems to be no appropriate solution to this crisis.

      • American Citizen

For a lot of us that wouldn’t have helped much. When you are raising a family on a middle class income, there isn’t a whole lot of money for extras. We were married 30 years before we could afford to buy a house. We paid taxes for SS and Medicare, that’s the pool we were in.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

American Citizen- Every Republican has the cure — privatize it so it can become obsolete in a hurry. They keep adding non productive people, they (both parties) dip into it and take the surplus to spend on everything but it’s intended purpose. If every penny that has been mis appropriated would be restored, it would be the healthiest and the richest program in Washington and this rubs against the Republicans grain. A Democrat created it and the Republicans have not been able to dismantle it, try as they might. A lot said about the intelligence we keep electing to Washington. This should serve as a wake up call for us.Why do the Republicans play around with the little guys programs? Is the hatred so deep seated and if so WHY?

      • DaveH

        Sorry Dee,
But you have it backwards. The Liberals (mostly Democrats) consider themselves above the rest of us. In their struggle for absolute power the little guys are just useful pawns (for their votes). The truth is that what the Liberals are dishing out will keep the little guys forever little and dependent. Liberals punish achievement through progressive taxes and other forms of wealth redistribution. So if you start out poor, chances are that you will be trapped there under the Liberals and their Big Government.

      • DaveH

        Dee,
Read this book by Thomas Sowell if you can get a copy at the Library (or buy it). It’s “Conflict of Visions”. I love this guy (who, by the way is black):
        http://www.amazon.com/Conflict-Visions-Ideological-Political-Struggles/dp/0465002056/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1264805813&sr=8-1

      • Tinwarble

        DaveH,

Agreed, Thomas Sowell, is probably one of the smartest men in the game. And you are pretty much wasting your time with Dee D, she doesn’t know her history, nor does she apparently know that Medicare/Medicaid was enacting by one of the biggest socialist/progressives in history (well, until now). Or that Medicare/Medicaid is nearly broke because more is being paid out than is coming in. Nor does she know anything about free market principles or how this country became great on those principles or how socialism has ruined other countries. Perhaps she should go live in Britain or Frances and see how great their socialized medicine is, and so when she gets sick she can wait months to be seen by a doctor only for them to tell her that the medicine that she needs is too expensive so they can’t give it to her.

      • American Citizen

It’s the Republicans who have been trying to get SS and Medicare into lock boxes and the Democrats who insist on dipping into those funds for their pork projects.

      • Claire

I know too many elderly people that rely on Medicare and Social Security. If these programs were wiped out, these people would not be able to survive. There are people that just do not realize what becoming elderly means until they get there. And they will be elderly if they live long enough. Then the shoe is on the other foot.
Some of my dogs are also therapy dogs, and when we go to nursing homes and talk to some of the residents, a lot of these people talk about hard times, etc. That is almost the first thing they talk about. If a person does not have sufficient money to pay for their keep, the nursing homes take everything a person has lock, stock and barrel. The key is to plan for the golden years when a person is young but sometimes catastrophes happen during a person’s life and they are unable to save. People have paid into Medicare their whole lives. Leave it alone. Same with Social Security.

      • DaveH

When people are supplied with a safety net, they understandably make far less effort to prepare for their own futures. That has led to many of our current problems, because they have become dependant on a Government to take care of them, instead of doing their homework and caring for themselves. And of course, as we know now, the government hasn’t safely invested their money in a fund. Rather they have spent the SS receipts as fast as they have received them. Some Caretaker.
Any changes in the system should of course grandfather the current recipients and those who have paid in for many years.

      • Claire

DaveH–yes, the government spent the money. But the people paid for the program. And yes, some people did feel it would take care of them and they relied on it. That is one thing a person should never do. I have always thought it was a good program, but with the government the way it is, I felt the money would not always be there. That is why I said to plan for the golden years while a person is young. A person just never knows what will happen. And to add another tidbit. There are two couples that are friends of ours, and guess what? They are now raising their grandkids. These two couples are in their sixties and what could they do? Let the grandkids become wards of the state? And they are all retired. This is happening more and more often. We live in a crazy world. I wish I had all the answers and I could wave a magic wand or something. Sad, sad situations.

      • DaveH

That’s because Big Government is sucking the life out of our economy.

      • cr747

Claire, I have had some elderly people ask, “this is what they call the golden years.” God Help and Bless Them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Meteorlady

When Social Security was implemented it was for “supplemental income” when a person retired. They took our money and projected a surplus always in that program. They came the added entitlements. Window benefits, children under 18 get to collect if they are in college, and the best – disability income. Disability income was robbed when Carter signed into law that even immigrants who had paid nothing into the system could collect disability. SS should have remained LOCKED from the day it was implemented. If I had all that money and had put it into an IRA or 401K I would be rich and living very well indeed. Instead I have broken promises and systematic looting of the system. As for Medicare – we needed to never have had that program in the first place! If you think government run health care is the answer, look at Medicare and Medicaid for a rude awakening.

  • http://www.personalliberty.com David Harris

Try as you all may the facts are plain: The Republicans controlled the congress for 24 of the last 30 years and (with the exception of Bill Clinton, who turned out to be THE BEST Repbulican President we ever had) 16 of the last 28. You would have thought with all the tough talk and gloating, the Republicans would have left us with more than a bloated deficit, declining wages among average Americans and a boatload of exported jobs that used to exist in conservative states like Ohio, where I was born and raised. I have seen towns like Dayton with once thriving industries submit to terminal decline by well over 100,000 people because of the job bleed. This is true throughout much of the midwest. And yet, 13 months into Obama’s Presidency, all we get from the right is trashing of of a President who has far from perfect solutions but is at least willing to try and confront them. If he is thrown out after 4 years, so be it. But remember, your legacy as conservatives is one of shame, arrogance and giveaways – the most egregious being the outrageous Supreme Court decision that will allow corporations both foreign and national to influence our already polluted election cycles with unlimited contributions. Another piece of the “great” Bush legacy. I wouldn’t crow to loudly since most of the country is fed up with BOTH parties and their lies and arrogance. But I am not sanguine about the future because the ignorance that led to all of this (history suggests) leads to even worse leaders. Good luck Scott Brown.

    • EltonJ

True. Both parties are the same and there is no difference between the two. This is going to be one major shakeup in the Democrat Party and the Republican party if the bosses of both don’t wake up and see what is going on.

      • Claire

        EltonJ–And I agree with you.

      • Lisa

I am praying that Obama’s healthcare does not go through but I don’t think we are out of the woods yet. Pelosi and Reid are going to push it through no matter what– and Obama is more determined than ever to push it through , regardless of public opinion. In fact, he thinks of this as a delicious challenge to his opponents now and he seems to get what he wants when he sets his visions toward it.

Don’t be too comfortable yet folks- just put this matter in God’s hands.

… I am not a big fan of either the Democrats or the current Republicans however I did vote for McCain. I think it’s pathetic how many wouldnt vote for him because of his age– because if he died in office, we would end up having Palin as president. I felt in my heart that he was the right choice.

    • Meteorlady

Lets see – Clinton a Republican??? H:mmmmmm….. I think he was the one that signed the Free Trade with China bill resulting in hugh job losses? And correct me I’m wrong, but didn’t FDR decide that we needed SS for supplemental retirement income; didn’t LBJ put Medicare into effect ? If I had all the money (taxes) I paid into those programs I would now be retired, living in the lap of luxury with great health care! Instead the government is taking more and more of my money to pay for these programs which they systematically take more entitlements onto them. The result – both programs are essentially bankrupt and will require a hugh influx of money to maintain them. Read carefully – the Federal Government is there to protect our property rights, our borders and our freedoms. They are not there to provide a welfare state. I just wish they would do their job – secure our borders, stop reckless spending on social programs and stop with the health care thing. Of the 47 million uninsured – 50% make over $50,000 to $75,000 per year and CHOOSE not to have health care because they are irresponsible and believe they will not get sick; the rest are illegals (about 20%) who didn’t work to pay for anything in this country and should be deported before they bankrupt us; and the remaining are eligible for medicaid but are either too lazy or to stupid to go and apply.

      • TeresaE

He also signed the repeal of Glass-Steagall which opened the door that created the financial tsunami that is roaring through our country right now.

BOTH sides have done/are doing this. BOTH sides.

But Clinton was not the great man so many want desperately to believe he was. He sold us out to become rich himself – which he has accomplished quite nicely.

Or am I the only one that remembers that he & Hillary couldn’t qualify for the mortgage on their $7 million NY mansion? Now, they are worth 5 times that.

      • Claire

Don’t they all sell us out in the end???

      • Meteorlady

Thanks – I forgot about Glass-Steagall which I think was one of the worst things that Clinton did. Another was allowing drug companies to advertise their poisons. That added about 50 million annually to the cost of the drugs that people need to survive.

      • cr747

Meteorlady, Clinton spent a lot of our money on expensive cigars. He seemed to have an outlet for them!!!!!!!!!!!!

DeeD, surely he didn’t smoke them cigars in bed!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • JeffH

If I missed something, maybe you could enlighten me, as I have been participating for quite some time here. Most of the commenters don’t support the Republicans any more than the Democrats as you might think. Many of us conservative refuse to or are not aligned with either party. We dislike the job they, collectively, have done.
Obama is the president now, and taking of critisism is part of the job, not making excuses at every speech and placing the blame elswhere. I did notice that Bush took his like a man, unlike the current “thin skinned” president.

      • JeffH

Another point, if Obama deserves any respect at all, he lost it by openly disrespecting and critisizing the Supreme Court’s recent decision during his deceptive “State of the Union” speech. If he didn’t like the ruling he most certainly could have responded behind closed doors, rather than act like the bully he tries to be.

      • Markk

And he lost any respect by playing the blame game over and over. He scolds anyone that doesn’t agree with him like errant children. Shame on him.

      • JeffH

He just doesn’t seem like he would be a good playmate, ya think.

      • GregS

I totally agree with you. What he did was SO shameful. I don’t believe a president has done anything like that in front of the entire nation before. This clearly illustrates his arrogance.

      • BrianO

        Well put.

      • cr747

JeffH, that’s where we get that he is not qualified to be a president, simply because he does not know how to lead.
Even in his address the other night if you notice Michelle was telling him to tell all of them to sit down!!!!!!!!!!!

    • MW

I think you left out much of the equation. You’re forgetting the unions, enviromentalists & the anti-business people who helped contribute to the deindustrialization of this nation. Excessive wage demands, ridiculous regulations & the contempt the media had for our free enterprise system made corporations go overseas & small business go under. You mentioned Dayton. I’m from the Buckeye State, too & graduated from UD in the early 70′s. I saw the city go from a thriving center of manufacturing & engineering innovation to the epitome of rust-belt America it is today! All of the aforementioned groups are part of the Democratic Party from my observation. They all have played a part in the demise of the manufacturing sector of our economy. Keep in mind that business thrives in the enviroment most conducive to it. If not, it either picks up & leaves or ceases to exist. Granted, too many businesses in the 1970′s failed to take heed of the growing foreign competition they faced, for example the U.S. auto industry. The Japanese filled that void & now dominate the domestic market. At this moment in time, the causes of our current economic crisis are rather moot. I doubt seriously if one or both parties will offer a plausible solution to it. After all the fearful master, government was in fact, the perpetrator to begin with almost a century ago. In retrospect, it’s highly unlikely that our current president will be able to do anything substantial to bring about an economic renaissance, especially in manufacturing. He is totally ignorant of the inherent systems that make it function, in the first place. His ineptness will even prevent him from achieving mediocrity when the history books are written.

    • Claire

      David Harris–well spoken.

    • Tinwarble

      David,

Unless you forget, the last great Conservative President was Reagan, he limited government & brought us back from the brink of the Carter, an those before him, years. Also, it is not the shame of the Conservatives, because the conservatives haven’t been in power since the Republicans controlled Congress during the Clinton years, and even then the Progressives were still pushing their agendas. It is the shame of Progressives in Republican clothing. And we start losing jobs and having companies move out of the country after Clinton signed NAFTA. Yes both parties have enough blame to go around, but it was not the fault of Conservatives, because true Conservatives would not have done the things that have been done. And yes the deficit under Bush was bad, before you go bashing the previous administration you should see this: http://blog.heritage.org/2009/03/24/bush-deficit-vs-obama-deficit-in-pictures/ and remember the last 2 yrs. the Democrats controlled Congress.
As for the mentioned Supreme Court decision, they were upholding the Constitution, in which the 1st Amendment states:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Since the Constitution doesn’t distinguish between a single person, a corporation or a union having free speech, then it has to apply to everyone the same way. And unlike it has been reported by some, the Court decision DOES NOT allow corporations or unions the ability to contribute to campaigns, it only gives them the ability to run ads and that is still limited.

      • Meteorlady

The Supreme Court decision is a non-event. We need to DEMAND that every congressional candidate publish who and where their money for their campaign comes from – in “easy speak” like the insurance policies are supposed to do. I think if you look – there will also be a lot of foreign nationals contributing – I know they did when Clinton ran – hence free trade with China and NAFTA.

  • TIME

We can only hope that this Monster bill has had its last breath.

If Obama had the support of 10% of the people of the USA they would have to be the half-wits. The only people around where I live who support Obama are the half-wits. Just ask a good strong Democrat what he thinks of Obama and he will change the subject. I do see that a few Democrat politicians are now showing their doubt about Obama and then someday there will be more to finally it will come crashing down around Obama and the sooner the better. The people of the USA should have known better to elect this half black half white liar that has no experience in leadership. But he promised change and some people fell for it.

    • thefedupamerican

I live in a heavily Democrat area…in fact it is referred to as the ‘people’s republic’. Here’s what I’m seeing of those who support Obama. The African Americans still support him 100%…hey, who cares about his policies, what matters is his race. The remaining ethnicities seem unable to admit that Obama was a mistake. I even have a brother in law who voted Obama and, in spite of being well educated, he simply cannot see the direction the country is headed and how very concerned we all should be. So you’re right Dale, people fell for it, and some simply cannot let go. I don’t think we should be complaisant in thinking BO may not get reelected. Remember, he still has a corrupt academia, media, the entertainment community, George Soros and all of his minions, not to mention ACORN.

      • TeresaE

        Exactly.

Now add the upcoming middle of the night Amnesty that will create millions more Obama voters.

I’m afraid we small government types waited too long. And now those that benefit from the corruption/ineptitude outnumber those of us that have to pay for it.

        By a great margin.

The white male does not have a chance. Even academics have been lowered so that the blacks could play sports. Don’t tell me they are down trodden and we are afraid they are going to have more than us. The ones that I really feel sorry for are the good black people that have made it and made a name for themselves without the help of their “brothers” and raised their families with pride.

      • Tinwarble

        Dee D,

This is not a black/white issue, this is a Progressive/Constitutional issue, and most people don’t want what the progressives are offering. And you want to make this about race, but you apparently don’t see that it is the Progressives that want to keep minorities down. By telling minorities that they aren’t good enough to make it on there own, and that they need the government to get ahead. And perhaps you just don’t know history, maybe you should read this, and learn something about the Democratic Party:

You and I both know that what Obama is pushing has nothing to do with Black or White, or Healthcare, or saving us from Global Warming. It is all about buying votes and giving the Federal Government more power over the people.

      • JC

That’s right. What Obama is doing by “giving” us health care and “stimulating” General Motors (et al)is ripping the guts right out of private industry and imposing government largesse on all of us…in the name of “progress”. It’s all such blatant communism and its happening in what was formerly the land of the free and the home of the brave. God save us from these lunatics as we seem incapable of helping ourselves.

NONE of our anger & disgust has anything to do with skin color! It has everything to do with his PROGRESSIVE agenda.

So get off the RACE CARD. That hand has been played until it’s completely worn out!

  • DaveH

    Well done Chip Wood.

The country elected a “President” but not a leader. His inexperience as talked about in the primaries is coming out. He doesn’t have a clue on what to do about anything, other than throw $ at the problem, w/no strings attached. No plans to call “his”. He has a smoooth delivery, which got him into the office. He can only dictate what our values should be, like his.
We can only hope that Reid, Pelosi, Frank and any other Socialist Dems running in Nov. get tossed out.
Funny how they blame Bush for the economic problems, but also forget that Reid & Pelosi ran Congress and Obama voted FOR all the proposed spending. Seems to me we had 5 or 6 strong growth yrs before the bottom fell out. Short memories sure are handy.
FYI – Does anyone remember when Kennedy first stumped for BO on his run for Senate, and he couldn’t remember his name, and called him Osama Bahama? Maybe that was after a 3 martini lunch he had. But I distintly remember that, and heard it later on Limbaugh.

      • Marilyn

I agree and feel the same but have had in my mind 3 versions of him… First time I ever saw him before he was President, I broke into goose bumps and saw a snake while waiting for a forked tongue to flip out. When he came into office I saw immediately a pompus, egotistical rock star. After the Presidential speech this week, I saw Pinocchhio. With all the lies I heard his nose can reach to outer space where he belongs. Never in my life (senior now) I have never seen a person like him, he is arrogant, self-centered, out of touch with reality, totally not qualified and has gathered around him a staff where most of them were responsible in past for what is going on….They all come from Federal Reserve which to this day cannot account for Mega dollars missing…

I agree that this series of events has mobilized the majority of freedom loving Americans. That the left will suffer serious setbacks in the 2010 elections. I only hope we can elect enough freshman to the Senate and Congress and they don’t get the inoculation as they enter that rarified area inside the beltway. To squander this opportunity by not reducing the size of government, reducing foriegn aid, imposing harsh penalties on illegal aliens and those that employ them, investigate the corrupt unions and their bosses, we will not deserve another chance to save this union. Remember when our founding fathers established this union the u in united States wasn’t capitalized.

    • DaveH

Whether we deserve another chance, or not, we will probably not get it. Hopefully we will not waste all this Anti-Big Government energy. There are some core things we need to get done if we want to restore this country to freedom and prosperity:
      1) We need to take back the educational system. The Federal Government needs to be gotten out of the public school system. We need to institute voucher systems across the States, so parents can send their children to the school of their choice. We need to start now to reverse the decades of Propaganda that has been foisted on our children.
      2) We need to get rid of the ridiculously complex, intrusive, and incentive-robbing Income Tax System. Each year we have to jump through extraordinary hoops for that system, and the hoops increase as we work harder and make more money, thus penalizing us for being productive. Is it good to penalize people for working harder? I think not. The increase of productivity would be astounding if we just got rid of the Income Tax.
      3) We need to cut the Federal Government back to its Constitutional Powers. Can you imagine a Government expecting its citizens to be Law-Abiding when the Government itself does not obey the law?

I could go on but I don’t want your eyes to glaze over.

In order to take back the educational system you would need to have each state refuse federal money. Once a state takes the “bribe” from the federal government, they are hooked and have to jump through the hoops to get more money for the system. Plus, it’s not fair to states that haven’t take as much money or don’t want to jump through the hoops that other states take federal tax dollars. I asked my nephew who is 17, if he had every had anything in class on the Constitution, how this country was founded or the Bill or Rights – is answer, NO he had no idea. What ever happened to American History in our schools? What ever happened to teaching in our national language which is English? If I had children in school now I would home school or private school if I could afford it.

The Federal Government was established to protect our legal rights with a Judicial system, secure our boards and protect us from invasions and protect our property. They have so overstepped their bounds that we may never get it back in prospective.

      • DaveH

For the Federal Government to tax the states and then use that money to bribe them to do things the Federal Government way is just an end-run around the Constitutional Limitations of Power for the Federal Government. It needs to be stopped!

      • JC

The states need to withold taxes in the first place.

      • denniso

DaveH,famous libertarian, says that we need to get the fed gov’t out of the public schools because the kids are being propogandized by the gov’t…I guess he thinks it’s OK for kids to be propogandized by any sort of private school…extreme evangelical, muslim, wiccan?? Public schools have never been perfect, just like our society, but the idea is to give every kid a chance to be educated around core studies, whether they are rich or poor. For all it’s problems, the public school system is one of the great modern sucesses in our country,w/ thousands of teachers busting their butts harder than most of these whiners and complainers on this site and millions of kids getting decent education opportunities.

      • Michael J.

        Denniso,
Justifying government indoctrinary education by pointing out aleged propogandizing in private schools does not make Gov-Ed smell any better. We expect a diversified education for our children, not one sided ideology. The very best example for DaveH’s argument, is you.

      • denniso

‘Indoctrinary’??? And, I didn’t justify gov’t indoctrination at all. My kid ,as well as me yrs ago, recites the pledge of allegiance…that’s gov’t indoctrination and I would think you approve of that?? Until just a few yrs ago, almost all history was centered around white males,to the exclusion of women and blacks and hispanics…I would bet that you approved of that slant on history also. I sat in geography w/ the world map on the wall w/ the U.S. right in the middle, looking dominant…Did you enjoy that indoctrination too?? And are you going to pay taxes to fund vouchers for religious schools that you don’t like? Muslim?Hindu?? I don’t think so…

      • Michael J.

        Denniso,
How is anyone going to be able to iron out the wrinkles in your cerebral cortex if you keep on denying statements that you posted earlier in the same day? Anyone would agree that you were justifying the practices of Gov-Ed by comparing them to the aleged pratices of private schools.
And Gov-vouchers are fine by me as long as revisionist history, America hating, jihad, honor killings, be-headings, condom/cucumber relationships and gay penguins are not included in the curiculum.

      • jschmid

School choice should be the norm throughout the country and it would probably be cheaper than the stranglehold the public schools have on education. It’s the taxpayers money, not the governments. The taxpayers should be able to send their children to the school that is most appropriate for them. We also need to reaffirm fundamentals like Civics, History, Math and English. We have children graduating who can’t read, write, add simple numbers in their head and know nothing about how this country works. But they know all about the environment, the lie of global warming, sex and how wonderful Obama and the Dems are. I know from personal experience how acedemia holds conservatism in contemp and passes opinion on as fact.

      • DaveH

Let me add a requirement – Economics. It is probably the most important subject our children should learn. And that is probably why the public school propagandists don’t teach it. They don’t want the kids to learn how the Government is wasting our money.

And Private schools are definitely run more efficiently than are Public schools:

      • Marilyn

I agree about education. I came from Canada and was horrified when people would ask if I knew so and so in Canada. They had no idea we were a country from east to west coast like the US.Then I would get asked what it was like living in an igloo and what the inside looked like. The English grammer is bad and when I try to correct my grand kids and explain what is wrong, they give me strange looks as they don’t know what I’m talking about. I never hear about kids skipping grades. Our teachers would push us on before they would hold us back which kept our interest in school.Hours were spent on homework and had to be done before the fun stuff. God forbid you disrupted the class as it would be worse punishment when you got home…

      • Claire

DaveH–I sent my two kids to Lutheran schools and never regretted doing so. At the time, there was a lot of “unrest” here in town if you know what I mean. My son is frugal and my daughter spends money like it is going out of style. Two different personalities. But they are good people.

      • Claire

And they did receive a good education. I am thankful for that.

      • George

        Dave,

I absolutely agree with teaching economics. I’d really like for them to get an education on the advantages of capitalism over socialism. But then, that’s something the progressives can not allow…..

      • George

Progressives only want you to have one choice, the one they want you to take. So long as we’ve got progressives in charge of our government, we’ll get fewer and fewer choices on everything until we’re doing exactly what they want us to do.

      • Tinwarble

        DaveH,

I would add, HISTORY, it is one of the most important things that should be taught. “If you don’t learn from history, you are bound to repeat it.”.

      • American Citizen

It’s time to do some housecleaning in D.C. Some of those Departments need to be abolished, such as the NEA. A total waste of our money.

      • DaveH

And the Department of Energy whose mandate was to wean us from foreign oil.
And the Department of Education which has just turned into the Government propaganda arm.

      • judy marie

just EXACTLY how does one abolish a department, like the NEA,dept of energy – and department of education? IT WOULD HELP TO HAVE SOME POSITIVE direction to the bloggs…i am ashamed that i am new at this blogging thing. new at the political stuff too. i am registered to vote now. and my vote may be important, but what i do politically..i dont know naything more. plus typing is bad.

      • Tinwarble

        Judy,

One way to abolish a department, is for Congress to defund that department. I believe the only other way would be through a Presidential Executive Order. But some others here may have some other ideas.

      • DaveH

Congress established them. Congress can abolish them. We just need to tell our respective parties that we will not vote for any more candidates that don’t promise to cut the size of Government. And stick to it.

      • George

So sad, but just goes to show just how deeply embedded the progressives have gotten in our educational system. Remember, the progressives don’t care about our Constitution or traditions. They want to change everything with a strong central government control over everything.

      • denniso

George, why are you just repeating the same mantra as everyone else here? I’ve assumed you were smarter than some here, and reasoned a bit more, but you’re only echoing the same old cliches…evil ‘central gov’t’ and evil ‘progressives’ who essentially hate our country. You can do better George.

      • Michael J.

        Denniso,
Funny thing is that you are the product of everything George talked about in his comments. You are just to blinded by the Messiahs aura to see it.

      • denniso

Michael…I’m past the juvenile stage of developement so i have no ‘messiahs’…you ,on the other hand, apparently worship at the altar of Limbaugh,Savage,Beck and O’Reilly, judging by your ‘talking points’ that are identical to their meaningless blab.

      • Michael J.

        Denniso,
It’s funny that you mentioned “juvenile” because that’s exactly what government socialist indoctrination produces. By teaching that government shall make all the decisions, they lock the minds of individuals into that of a child.

And it just so happens that O’Reilly and Beck often say the things that I and other conservatives are thinking, not the other way around.

      • denniso

Michael…so,that’s interesting..you guys think that you came up w/ all the ‘conservative’ talking points and that Limbaugh and Beck follow you? You can’t imagine that they are leading you down a path that benefits them and they’re bank accts?

      • thefedupamerican

        Dave,
If conservatives DO ‘get the chance’ we must never, never forget the danger this country was put in by progressives. Conservatives tend to live and let live. Unlike libs, we do not tend to assassinate the character of a person just because of a difference of opinion. Progressives, on the other are single minded in their desire to change America into a socialist state. Look at the last 40 years where they have infiltrated Academia, the media, entertainment etc. While conservatives have been busy producing, the progressives have been busy taking over our institutions. If we just win the next two elections and then go back to sleep, that incremental creep by progressives will continue. We MUST remember what it means to be Americans. We must teach liberty and freedom to everyone we meet. And we can never just put up and shut up again…for the sake of the country. Let Obama be our wake up call! http://www.thefedupamerican.com

      • DaveH

        I agree.

      • denniso

Fedup…you’ve got to be kidding, right?? ‘Conservatives don’t assassinate the character of those you disagree with’? Wow!! You better look around this site…your comment is ludicrous and laughable. Obama equated w/ Hitler? Obama is a fascist? Obama wants to kill off old people? Obama is a communist? Obama is not an American? Either you are blind or in total denial of what your party does in smearing their opposition. The Repub party is nothing but a party of character assasination and personal smears. Listen to your god Limbaugh…he smears absolutely everyone he disagrees with. Wake up man!!

      • JeffH

I will second that. Well said.

      • Michael J.

Progressive ideology needs to be exposed for what it is, Marxism/Lennonism and then eliminated.
Also, Political Correctness which most people assume is a recent indigenous phenomenom is actually a Marxist tactic conceived in 1920′s Germany designed to promote tension through racsism and sexual deviance.

      • TIME

Michael, Your on target, saddly I side with both as I find both have positive points.

But in so far as the people of USA Please note that Barry Soto stated he is a “progressive” he is not a Democrat, The Clinton’s stated they too are progressive’s, as well John Mac&CheeseCane has also stated he too is, let alone both Bush’s. So really what choice do you have?

Folks take note of words these people use, words have great power understand the words, understand the values that YOUR leaders tell you they follow by way of their words.
I don’t care how many babbies they kiss, a “progressive” is not a friend to the US, nor to anyone who craves “FREEDOM.”

But as I said I do agree with many points that progressive’s have.

In the end the only thing that has value, is one word, “FREEDOM.”

Progressivism is based on zero “FREEDOM” for you, {its only for a slect few,} again understand the value of words, and what they really mean.

      • Michael J.

        Time,
The answer is to cast ballots toward Constitutional Conservatives.

      • Marilyn

You said it right to our hearts and I can only add that the one good thing Obahma has done for us, is to wake us up to the dangers we are seeing now… I don’t think from this day forward this country will let this happen again. I only hope people stay alert through this mess. When we get things going in right direction we need to start working on term limits for Congress as they feel too secure which causes laziness and need to be brought back to reality and how they got there…BY THE PEOPLE…

      • DaveH

        That’s funny American,
Even the Liberal Jon Stewart is turning on Obama.

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

I can remember when our two children were in high school, when they came home we would have to sit them down and debrief them and show them the truth. I had forgotten about that. Didn’t have to do that when they were in foreign schools however.

I WILL KEEP THE WEBSITE- but not ready to make that move. remeber when kennedy died, johnson was next in line…well, I don’t trust the line-up as it stands. we could be out of the frying pan and into the power, along with the chaos that comes with a newly elected, or newly appointed president. do we want to compound the fracture that is obama? will there be new executive orders to re-inforce the patriot act? and would this effort of impeachment be sufficient for the newly appointed, should we succeed, and we could very well..
but would this allow them to step up to the plate and declare a state of national crisis?

I am a 76 Year old Man and Retired,I have never seen a President that has spent so much money in a very short time,Plus he is killing off the Older People that has made this Country what it was before he took Offic,We need to KICK HIM AND ALL OF THE BIG UNION BOSSES OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE FOR GOOD,AND [NOW]Thank’s Allan.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

Allan – Are you willing to admit to being one of the over 70 year ages that have caused our situation to fall into the gutter? We’ve returned to the polls and put the same scum bags into office time and time again.
We are the Government and we’ve done one lousy job. We have allowed the game planners to map out the strategy for the game plan and we’ve played our role very well. I’m not very proud of myself for the role I’ve played. Are you? Every body wants term limits – well it’s been at our finger tips every election. But still we wait for our employees to do the job for us. Wasen’t it Kennedy who said ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country. Let’s start helping ourselves instead of relying on the next guy.

I guess I have to just say what I feel.I HATE OBAMA,BECAUSE I KNOW HE IS A FAKE.He is not a leader and could never be.I hate Pelosi worst then Obama, and I know she is past history.Well that leaves Reid. This man is a comunist, and its time for him to dissapear. Now for the big on!!!! ” I TOLD YOU SO”

    • denniso

You’re spewing the talking points of Limbaugh and Savage…I doubt you could name one rational reason why you hate Pelosi or Reid..you’re nothing but a rightwing reactionary who is doing the bidding of your corporate masters…think a little on your own, please.

      • Michael J.

        Denniso,
Why waste time sighting reasons for disliking Dirty Harry Reid, he’s history soon anyhow. Pelosi, on the other hand is snugly nestled in the bowels of communism, San Francisco that is. Dug in like an Alabama Tick, it will take the next earthquake that will turn Arizona into ocean front property before we see the last of her. But since you asked i’ll provide you with a few examples why conservatives disagree with her.

Pelosi said, “Van Jones is one of the most inovative and strategic thinkers of our time. He is what I like to call a magnificent distruptor of the status quo”. She failed to mention however, that he is also a self proclaimed communist.

She has stated that she will pole vault and parachute in order to pass Obamacare, what ever it takes in spite of the fact that the majority of Americans don’t want it. Besides, at her age I would think she would have trouble passing her last meal, let alone Obamacare.

She has stated that people who refuse to purchase health care should go to jail.

Plenty more examples, too little time.

  • Connie

President Obama doesn’t have a clue as to what the “core values” of the American people are! They certainly are not the same as his—like unfathomable debt on the shoulders of our grandchildren. The complaints he expresses about the arrogance of America show up vividly in the arrogance we see in him. Could he be more stubborn? I compare Obama to the Pharaoh of the Exodus who was so stubborn he devastated his country. I hope and pray history doesn’t repeat itself.

  • http://maandpa3334@yahoo.com Allan Chamberlain

Don’t forget Wilson and FDR. They started this whole mess. Everyone else has just continued kicking the can down the road…..

      • git it right

George, I am a Conservative, and your statement is correct. Since Reagan, we have had Conservatives in office as Republicans. Pres. Reagan got his policies passed by the Democrats, he also had a horrible mess on his hands with a recession, bad banking(S&L RTC) practices caused 123b loss, high unemployment 10.2%, big deficit and the other party worked with him to solve the problems. Didn’t like that he passed bill making 3 million illegals, citizens but I forgave him. When Pres. Bush Sr. came into office he had to raise taxes, so what Pres. Reagan did wasn’t all that good, or our taxes wouldn’t have to have been raised. I really want to know how everything got so out of whack with Conservatives and Republicans in office? What happened? You treat everybody nicely, so I ask you. Thank you, in advance.

  • David J. Baldwin

I think we should all email the White House website and tell Obama to resign. We don’t need him as a 1 term president. We need him as a 13 month president!
The Pres talks the talk, but doesn’t walk the walk. It’s now very evident he’s a pathological liar. You can also tell by the hisses in the “s’s” at the end of his words. Like in the children’s book on Robin Hood, Sir Hiss was a snake that was beholden to the king or the sheriff of Nottingham. I wonder who Obama is beholden to?

    • http://Att.netoryahoo.com Shirley Cox

Hey, I’m for that. Then who would you like to be our President? Several would do a much better job, for us and our country.

      • DaveH

Or perhaps his son Rand Paul.

      • BOE

By law next in line would be Joe Biden. Joe is so stupid I think he may be harmless. But the worst part would be then Nancy Pelosi would be our VP!!!

    • Harold Olsen

A big waste of time and effort. He wouldn’t pay any attention to our emails. As far as he is concerned we do not know what we believe in. After Brown won in Massachusetts he said as much in an interview. He then added that he would have to talk with us to let us know what we believe in.

      • JeffH

It would only be a waste of time for someone that is willing to accept defeat at this Obums hands! Like a sheeple.

      • Claire

I have tried calling, sending faxes, and sending emails to the politicians (Democrats & Repblicans) here in Illinois. It was all for nothing. It was a big fat waste of my time and effort. Politicians only hear what they want to hear and they tell us what we want to hear—they are politicians to the very core of their being.

      • JeffH

I always get a response from my representatives mentioning the content of my emails. My local reps send regular email updates. Now Boxer and Feinstein just respond with generic thank you’s and have never axknowledged my questions or concerns. Pelousi has never responded to my emails asking her to resign. I send them twice a month without fail.

      • cr747

Claire, go to the town hall meetings that are being held when your representatives or senators are there. That is why they have them.
I can say that a lot of them have quit holding town hall meetings because of the way they have been treating their constituents in Washington, and they are getting some angry crowds. They deserve it though, because they have brought it on themselves for not listening to “WE THE PEOPLE”.
I write and E-mail mine, and always get a response very quickly. Have even been known to call them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • jim

Hi Claire, My Dad sent a letter to Durban about Cap & Trade and was sent a form letter telling him why abortion is a good thing. They couldn’t even send the right form letter.

jim–I believe it!! Did you know Dillard supported Obama? And Dillard is a Republican, things never cease to amaze me. But I should be used to it by now, living in Illinois. I still support Brady, and hope he makes it. We’ll know maybe by tomorrow night. Take care and have a good day.

      • Claire

L,USA–I have been a registered Republican for 30 years. During that time I have also voted Democrat. And right now I am thoroughly disgusted with both parties. I have been for awhile. The campaign politics of this past 2-3 years have done a number on me. I did lose respect for both parties. I know what I believe in, and I know what is right and what is wrong. The Republilcans have no viable leader, and their party is running amuck. The Democrats are in the same boat. The Conservative aspect is more solid, with purpose.

Nice thought, but if he doesn’t care what we think regarding the healthcare bill, why would he respond to our request for him to change is agenda or resign? Remember, he’s a progressive. HOKAY GUYS, I am ashamed to admit this, but i am politically ignorant. but why didnt we stop this in the first place, if our votes counted, and so much of america is against these things, why is there no result, other than this last election that was , like obama said, just the way he got elected.
a reactionary measure. not america taking action…americans reacting.
that gives them behind the puppets the power to manipulate the masses.

        Judy Marie,
You said,”like Obama said, Brown got elected just like he got elected”. Most of us gasped in disbeleif at the gaul of this man and his assumption, which was nonsense. Obviously he had to say something in his own defense but, I know to me anyway, he himself did not seem beleive it.

Whats really sad is that the stimulus money will end and those states that took it will be left with endless bills and strict rules for the programs it initiated. It’s blackmail by the federal government to the states, but the states are too greedy to not accept. Then down the line it’s – “we need more tax dollars to support this program” and that comes from the people of that state.

      • denniso

Claire…’where did the stimulus $$ go’?? It went to keep teachers employed…cops on the street..firemen putting fires out…trash being picked up. If the states hadn’t gotten money from the feds, the recession would already have become a depression. If people think things are bad now,it would have been much worse w/o the states getting stimulus $$.

      • TIME

The facts are that the FED has no clue where the money went? So how can you post what you posted.

Let alone lets look at the spending freeze, whats that mean, when we take away the sound bite; {Mr. Obama has spending at an all time high} yet he wants to freeze the budget at that level for three years, and this is going to reduce the def?
        Hows that work?

Lets look at this Example; you make $1000.00 per year but you spend $100,000.00 then say that you will only spend $100.000.00 for three more years and you will be paying down money on what you have spent.
        Can you explain that logic?

      • Claire

denniso–with all due respect, have you forgotten I live in Illinois? $300,000 of this money went towards a bike trail!!! A BIKE TRAIL!!!I was livid.

You are right on the money. We need a special prosecuter NOW to begin impeachment proceedings. Charges: Treason and malacious disregard of our Founding Fathers and the Constitution of the United States. Openly and arrogantly demeaning America while on enemy foreign soil.

      • JC

Dan, what is being done in the White House right now is so blatantly against the principles of our founding documents, The Declaration and The Constitution, that everyone involved should be held to the highest sentence that a court of justice would impose…if only Americans still knew what is meant by being an American.
We are in the final phases of the life span of a Democracy…apathy, dependence, dictatorship and finally, bondage. We will win back our liberties only through tremendous political will and the resolve to enforce it.

keep this in mind, our ill-us-try-us
president is not joking, neither is he being someon in denial- he is explaining to us that america is in the habit, and been in the habit of voting for people in a reactionary manner.
if we are reacting to what is, we are not acting, that keeps the powers that be in power. got it. can you follow that? the years since kennedy prove that THEY are gettiing progressive in their effectiveness.
read this section from the above article again, and tell me if i am wrong:
Speaking of denial, here’s the most incredible comment on the Massachusetts election I’ve heard yet: “Here’s my assessment of not just the vote in Massachusetts, but the mood around the country: The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept [Barack Obama] into office.”

If you find that almost laughably absurd, wait until I told you who said it. Here’s a hint: Instead of “[Barack Obama]” in the sentence above, substitute the word “me.” Yes, it was none other than our illustrious president, in a recent interview with George Stephanopoulos.

Dullard Americans have a short memory. BUSH and his CRONIES ARE RESPONSIBLE for many of the daunting problems we now have to fix. Many people who voted for Obama are intelligent thoughtful people who were sick of the dim wit policies of the last administration and could bring themselves to vote for any ticket that would put the even less cerebral Sarah Palin any where near the White House.

You are like the people in the 1500’s who were so threatened by Gallileo’s discovery that the earth is not the center of the universe that they wanted to burn him at the stake.

        Very sad…

      • Tinwarble

        Arkham,

Apparently you have no memories, you forget the Democrats had the Congress the last 2 yrs when Bush was in office and that’s when our deficits began to grow. And it was people like Barney Frank who said that there was nothing wrong with Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac or that it was a Liberal cause, the Community Reinvestment Act, that caused the the housing crisis. And what kind of dim wit is Obama for thinking that it was a good idea that wounded soldiers should have to use private insurance to take care of their medical needs. And what kind of dim wit goes to a church for 20 yrs, and never hears the hateful, anti-American speech coming from his preacher. And yes, many people that voted for Obama might be intelligent &/or thoughtful, but they are also dupes, they thought that they were going to get “HOPE & CHANGE” and all they are getting is “CONTROL & CORRUPTION”. And you should get back to the asylum before they find you missing.

Shirley- Obama has done more in a year to help our nation and Main Street Americans than any of the others have in over 40 years. Remember, you only have so much to work with and the worms who want to make the poor poorer and will fight anything constructive Obama tries to accomplish are the true traitors of our country. They would rather see Obama fail at everything than to see America become the leader, like they used to be. These same people don’t care a darn for you or anything except control of the masses and the money. They should be concerned with all our welfare because they also will have to live it and they cement it for the future for all. Don’t they have family they should care about? Do they understand the concept of love?
There is nothing they will take with them when it is there turn to pass over.
I feel Obama will succeed because his heart is in the right place for alls benefit. The only thing that truly bothers me and that is the ONE WORLD ORDER that about all our leaders gas been sold and that will be the pandora’s box that will hurt us all. We really should be careful what we ask for — We may get it.

      • Michael J.

        DeeD,
You must be slipping, you forgot to mention the mess he inherited from Bush. No problem, Denniso will remind you.

      • denniso

Dee…isn’t it nice and refreshing to finally have a smart and caring president trying his best to fix the messes in the country?? Even if Obama can’t do anything w/ the righties obstructing everything,I’m still pleased to have such a groundbreaking president.

      • Tinwarble

        demsho,

You are SOOOO Right! Those stupid right wing obstructionist just want let Obama do anything, even though the Dems have had a SUPER Majority in both Houses of Congress and even if all the Republicans went home he still couldn’t get anything passed. It’s so amazing how the Republicans can stop things when their votes haven’t really mattered. You know with that logic, I guess Republicans should blame the Green Party for McCain not getting elected.

      • George

Tinwarble – very well said. It’s odd to me that the liberals can’t remember this simple fact when they’re accusing the Republicans of not supporting Obama. Also, not said is that the Democrats thought they could get all of Obama’s programs passed without any Republican support, so they didn’t include the Republicans in any of the bill writing and construction meetings, and furthermore, promptly rejected each and every amendment proposed by the Republicans. So, why should the Republicans vote for anything coming out of this Democratic Congress? They don’t agree with the far-left approach anyway, and get absolutely nothing by voting for it, especially since the polls show that the majority of American voters reject this healthcare bill anyway.

Dee/Denniso – Republicans don’t agree with Obama’s far-left approach to “solving” problems. Since Obama has intentionally excluded the Republicans from any attempt to participate in the writing and construction of these bills, why in the world would you expect the Republicans to go along with these bills? If Obama had actually invited and included Republicans to participate early on, there would likely be a few Republicans who would have gone along with these bills, over the objections of many conservatives. Obama could get a healthcare reform bill through during his first term if he simply created a bi-partisan commission to review the problem and make recommendations. This would take time, but it would allow for open debate so the American people could witness what’s really going on and get comfortable with it. However, I’m confident that any such recommendation would not include a public option or any form of government-run healthcare, but it likely would contain suggestions which would solve many of the problems with the current system. So, having said that, it seems to me that Obama and the Democratic Congress are the real obstructionist by not following this approach to getting a healthcare bill that most people can support.

      • denniso

George…you’ve already forgotten that the Dems had Senators Grassley and Snow involved in negotiations on health care??both Repubs, and there were others as well. Obama and the Dems have tried to be inclusive, but you also forget that most of the Repubs made it clear they would do nothing that the Dems wanted, and it was the Dems who won the election big. The Repubs have never proposed doing anything about the disaster that is our healthcare system, until this attempt by the Dems. They are wholly owned by the health industry and will fight to prevent any real reform.

      • Tinwarble

        demsho,

And if you forget, Snow voted to get the bill out of committee. But bringing in 2 RINO’s just to get it out of committee is hardly being bipartisan. Also, once the Dems got it out of committee they did all their negotiations behind lock closed doors so they could buy off Senators that weren’t on board and make deals with unions so that they would have special deals. And no Republicans were brought in to help write the bill, and as I said before, it wouldn’t have mattered anyway, because the Republicans haven’t had the votes to stop the bill from being passed. And our health care is hardly a disaster, apparently you have never traveled outside the US, and 74% of Americans rate their health care as good or excellent.

Brink of depression brought about by the majority party passing during ,Clinton’s term, lax rules for mortgages, allowing the banks to be unaccountable for their schemes. Dude you guys had the power through out Clinton and Bush’s administration and passed crap. Man up and take responsibility and let the other side try and fix your party’s mess. Oh, now the Republicans and Conservatives have suddenly gotten fiscally intelligent and want the power back. You want to privitize Social Security after the mess we just experienced? You actually want seniors to give their money to Wall Street? You do realize that if SS had been privitized during the past crisis, the investors would be broke. But hey, your policies have lead us to this point, looks like your party is the one trying to bring this country down.

While this is true for everyone….I much prefer the “pass over” route than the “pass-under” route. I just hope those following their new found messiah on the yellow-brick road down under, won’t endure too much enlightenment from the bright light down under.

It amazes me how liberals consider themselves to be on a much higher plane of caring and thoughtfulness towards others. They assume conservatives don’t lift a finger to help anyone, which could not be further from the truth.

Your concern about the one world order prospect is valid, yet the current regime is the epitome of exactly that concept. You’re right about one thing….be very careful what you ask for.

Sorry Mark, but it’s not too difficult to sound superior to some of the dimwits in our country. If more people had better education, then Obama wouldn’t appear superior.

      • Claire

To me, it is a matter of self-confidence and self-esteem, and a person can have all the education in the world and have no common sense.

      • Claire

I am not aiming my comments towards anyone. These are my own thoughts.

      • BrianO

Herein lies the problem, those that have been indoctrinated with so much of the “Planned Education” no longer have an open mind. Logic… and ethics are lost on them. As it was designed when the Progressive Movement was launched over 100 years ago.
It’s not conjecture, it’s not theory, it’s not how I feel, it’s fact. Check your history then be honest with yourself. If you are honest you will see the light. It’s ok, many of us once thought like you. We changed,so can you.

      • Claire

BrianO–I don’t want to change. I stand up for what I believe. Right is right. Wrong is wrong. If I’m wrong then so be it. I’ve been wrong before. And I’ve been right before. And I do try to learn from my mistakes.

      • http://! Brian O

Claire; my comments were directed to denniso. I’ve never seen you put anyone down on here, sorry if you thought it was meant for you.

      • Claire

        Brian–no problem!!

      • George

        Denniso,

Is it our lack of education or the fact that we disagree with you that bothers you so much? Would we suddenly become brilliant if we simply agreed with the progressive agenda? Isn’t it obvious to you yet, that talking down to conservatives isn’t going to get them to capitulate to your position? If anything, it just makes them more determined that they are correct and you are wrong.

I’m pretty much convinced the core issue between conservatives and liberals has little or nothing really to do with Obama or any of the politicians in office today. It has everything to do with the fact that conservatives are traditionalist who generally want small, decentralized government while liberals have been cooped by the progressive movement which cares little about our traditions. They want to change everything into a new world order with powerful central government control. I’m pretty sure that’s the real battle line, and will become even more so as time goes along.

      • libertytrain

        you are remarkably cruel.

      • Michael J.

        Brian O,
Thanks, It’s nice to know that some people get it. According to Yuri Bezmenov, those who have been thoroughly indoctrinated can not be re-educated even in the light of irrefutable evidence to the contrary.

      • Tinwarble

        George,

Very well said! But it even goes further than that, not only do they care noting for our traditions, the Liberals also try to stick Conservative with all the bad things they have done. They will say that Conservatives are racist, yet is was the Liberals who all through history tried to stop desegregation and have tried to keep minorities from having the same rights as everyone else. They try to make it sound like Conservatives are against free speech, yet it is Liberals who have instituted “political correctness” and who want to pass “the fairness doctrine” legislation. Liberals will call Conservatives “neocons” in an attempt to paint us as being the same as Nazi’s, but it is their policies that most closely resemble that of the socialist programs of the Nazi’s (and no, I’m not calling anyone a Nazi). This is what Liberals do, they take every bad thing that they have done and everything that they want to do and project it onto Conservatives. The only problems is that history does not agree with them and thankfully Conservatives still out number Liberals, with 40% of Americans being Conservative and only 21% being Liberal (35% being Moderate with 34% of them leaning right).

      • denniso

George, I’ll say this again…I have NO problem w/ anyone disagreeing w/ me…I can enjoy the challenge of discussing differences in opinion. What is intolerable is most of these people lying, smearing and demonizing Dems and liberals and Obama. Look at the posts on these different pages and count the number of times Obama/liberals have been threatened and smeared as communists, muslim, unamerican, etc.
Look at the names and vitriol thrown at anyone who is labeled a liberal/Dem,rather than debating the point. You need to call these people out on their hate, they just happen to be your allies,so you don’t.

      • cr747

Claire, you are right Obama, like so many in his cabinet does not have any common sense at all. Obama is definitely not a leader, and for sure the worst president we have ever had. I see a rude awaking for the democrats and the president in the near future!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Tinwarble

Oh demsho, and why don’t you go and count the number of times you and your liberal ilk have called Republicans, neocons, Nazi’s, racists, white supremacists, bigots, traitors and all sorts of names. Almost every liberal who has posted on this site has gushed out half truths and partial facts and regurgitate things said on Liberal websites. And how many times have liberals called President Bush an idiot and a liar, and compared him to Hitler. You are the proverbial kettle calling the pot black. You only enjoy a debate when you think that you have an upper hand, and once begin losing that debate you turn to name calling. This is why everyone sees you for the hypocrite that you are, you go around chasing your tail, doing the same thing you would condemn others for doing.

      • cr747

Tinwarble, words truly spoken, and from the issues he comments on, he acts so selfish. I truly believe he does not understand anything about politics….He gets frustrated as he speaks and forgets what he is trying to say. Yes, he does use a lot of unnecessary name calling….. Reminds me of a child that doesn’t get his way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Claire

denniso–I graduated from high school, but could not go to college. And I will tell you that I have done quite well for myself. When I got out of high school I made up my mind I was going to make “something” of myself, and I did. I married a great guy and we have been married for 50 years. I started working when our kids started school, and I worked myself up the ladder. I worked like a dog. I started in accounting, I was faster, more accurate, and I made sure I put out more work than anyone else. I became supervisor of accounting, held that for 22 years, then in 1996 I was asked to be an editor of manuscripts. And all because the company liked my letters to customers! I jumped at the chance. I was ready for something new. Now I edit and I love it. An editor and look at my typos on some of my posts!! Sure, at times I wish I could have gone to college, but then I would have wanted to be an archaeologist and I wouldn’t have met my husband. In essence, I graduated from the school of hard knocks. But I have a lot to be thankful for.

      • eyeswideopen

George, good point you made. Does it seem odd that suddenly the Repubs/Conservs know exactly how to run the country? After having control for 12 straight consecutive years, 8 of which you even had a President of the same party, now that we have a mess, the entire Republican party has all the answers. The repubs had opportunity to change immigration laws and didn’t, change healthcare and didn’t, etc..etc..etc. Why now do you have the answers? Why when the deficit was getting out of control didn’t anyone do anything then? How could you pass a 400billion dollar (which turned out to cost 800billion)Medicare Bill without funding? Where were all those fiscally responsible policies and bills then?

Don’t count on it! At his SOTU address he overruled the Supreme Court of the United States. He in effect told them that no one, not even they, can tell him what he can or can not do. Had a Republican done that impeachment proceedings would have begun the very next day. But he is getting away with it. If Obamacare does not get passed by Congress I would not put it past this wannabe dictator to decide that he is going to pass it by executive order. He will do whatever he wants by any means necessary and the Constitution be damned!!

      • Connie Warner

I heard on the News last night that several other presidents also said that they disagreed with a Supreme Court’s decision. (Specifically the decision about abortion, Roe vs. Wade.) Presidents Reagan and Bush were named.

      • Claire

It is my opinion that this has opened a can of worms. We shall find out.

      • Claire

I refer to the Supreme Court Decision.

      • denniso

For the Repub controlled Supreme Court to decide that corporations are the same thing as human citizens and deserve the same degree of free speech is nothing but absurd and outrageous. I hear too, that it will open the door to foreign corporations that do biz here, and allow them to contribute to our candidates…ridiculous and maybe the end to any pretense of Democracy.

      • Claire

denniso—I am concerned about this too. Corporate control, don’t you think?

      • DaveH

I think we should especially ban Unions from political speech. They aren’t people either. I think they are robots or something. Maybe from outer space.

      • George

Should corporations who own newspapers, radio and/or TV stations be prevented from participating in free speech as well? Where do you draw the line? The law specifically prohibits foreign entities from contributing to US elections. That law has been around a long time. However, I will say that even so, there was a lot of concern that the Democrats found a way of getting Chinese money for Bill Clinton when he was running for President his second term.

      • Smilee

Got this is an email the other day, you do you think this would cure your concerns:

Proposed to be ratified as the
        Twenty Eighth Amendment to the
        United States Constitution

Section 1. Congress shall make no law abridging or denying the right of free speech to any individual except if said speech shall have the effect of placing in jeopardy the life or limb of another. The right of free speech of the individual shall be deemed of greater importance and supersedes other speech.

Section 2. Congress shall make no law abridging collective free speech except collective speech that is intended to or does have an effect on elections or pending or existing legislation. Congress shall have the power to enact law with respect to all collective speech effecting elections and legislation as to method and means of delivery and distribution and as to time and place of said speech but not of content of said speech.

Section 3. Any speech that has any effect on elections that is made by any representative of a corporation or business enterprise, at their direction and on their behalf, and whom produces a product or service for sale and profit, Shall be denied.

Section 4. Any speech that has any effect on proposed or existing law that is made by any representative of a corporation or business enterprise, at their direction and on their behalf, and whom produces a product or service for sale and profit, shall only be in written form with a full copy furnished each legislator who has the right to cast a vote on the proposed legislation, in advance of it being voted on, and they shall further publish and distribute this same speech to all citizens so they may have full knowledge and free access to it at the time it is distributed to the legislators.

Section 5. Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of the press but shall have the power to enact laws that ensure that the press is not controlled or influenced by government, any government agency, any corporate or business enterprise, any other enterprise or collective group or any other for unjust gain to themselves or others and anyone responsible for and found guilty of having this influence or control on the press shall then be guilty of a crime against the United States and it would then be appropriate that they then be subject to forfeiture, penalty and punishment. Financial support furnished to the press by any one including government shall not in and of itself be construed as having undue or unjust influence or control on the press unless evidence be found to exist proving that it in fact does. Anyone responsible for and found guilty of this undue and unjust influence or control of the press shall be deemed guilty of a crime against the United States and it would then be appropriate that they be subject to forfeiture, penalty and punishment.

Section 6. Congress except as restricted or limited by this amendment shall have the power to enact appropriate legislation with respect to all speech.

      • DeNorm/EyesWideShut

I guess one should ask the hard question. Obama has started to bully the Supreme Court when they make a ruling he doesn’t like, rather than respect this countries premiere justice system. I might point out that he is no fan of ur counries Bill of Rights or it’s Constitution. This should be a real wake up call to some of the people that have yet to decide whether Obama is good or bad for this country and our freedom. He has po’d the people, the press and now the Supreme Court justices. How far can he go before this madness will be stopped?

      • DaveH

Give him lots of rope … you know the rest.

      • George

Obama is a “card-carrying” member of the progressive movement. They don’t give a flip about our Constitution or Declaration of Independence because they think these documents are out of date for our times. They have been pushing our courts since the days of Woodrow Wilson to slowly evolve our laws and traditions so that the US is remade in the progressive image with a strong central government that controls just about everything, and isn’t constrained by the Constitution or our traditions.

      • usmadgirl

        DeNorm,

That’s what concerns me. He has no respect for our founding fathers, the Constitution, the People, the Supreme Court & the un-Progressives of his “own Party”. Still, he has about 46% approval. How can that be? Are there that many blind, deaf or mentally challenged people or are there that many progressives in our country?

This administration is not a party of “old time Democrats”! The majority are radical progressives! I don’t know why they don’t just re-name it the “Progressive Party”.

They’ve shown us that they’ll lie, cheat & bribe to push their agenda. ‘Bawney Fwank & fwiends’ created a ‘crisis’ & as Rham Emanuel said “you never let a crisis go to waste”!

The circumstances that these Marxists have waited on for decades have fallen right into their laps to complete their agenda & they’ll take advantage of it with no regard to their “flawed Constitution”, the law, the People. They’ll run over anything that gets in their way & they’ve proven that. As I’ve commented on another topic, Plastic Pelosi said this week that they would “go to the gate & if they couldn’t get through the gate, they’d go over the fence, if they couldn’t get over the fence, they’d pole vault over it, if that didn’t work, they’d parachute in, but Health Care WOULD BE PASSED”! How do you stop a “runaway train”?

      • usmadgirl

        Harold Olsen,

        You are so right!

    • JeffH

I have been trying to watch and listen to Obama address and take questions from the Republicans at their retreat. I, me, not my fault, inherited, and the previous administration is the same rhetoric he uses in EVERY speech. I was raised to believe, and still do, that excuses are for losers. This loser has been identified by the American people. He still has his ideals about Health Care, which only includes the use of Big Government, and nothing else will suffice.
For Americans to allow Obama, Pelosi and Reid to continue on their “forced feeding agenda” by a far left government is inhumane and will be dealt with harshly by the very upset America people.
Ask no quarter and give no quarter. Keep the pressure on these Marxist thugs and remove them as quickly as our laws will allow. Real change is in the hands of you and I, the “moral” majority, and no one else.

if the focus when bush was in office was directed toward him, and now the focus is toward obabba, well, we are caught in their trap. it isnt the who that is in office, it is the how the office is managed. and our latest victory was still a feather in the cap of the powers that be. he was elected in by our reactionary mind-set. just the same as obamma was. and as long as we are reacting, we are not acting. bloggs are good for reacting, and re-enforcing the reactionary state of mind. so is texting, and many would rather text than talk. less personal, you know.

ANYHOW. READ THE CLIP FROM THE ARTICLE:
Speaking of denial, here’s the most incredible comment on the Massachusetts election I’ve heard yet: “Here’s my assessment of not just the vote in Massachusetts, but the mood around the country: The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept [Barack Obama] into office.”

If you find that almost laughably absurd, wait until I told you who said it. Here’s a hint: Instead of “[Barack Obama]” in the sentence above, substitute the word “me.” Yes, it was none other than our illustrious president, in a recent interview with George Stephanopoulos.

SEE THE GUY IS HAPPY we are still reacting. we have been since Kennedy, if not before. I remember his smile and wink when he [johnson] got sworn in.
its time to stop reacting, as a group. and take actions. but what to do.
        vote,
start community groups? i just got a computer. where can I start?

      • Meteorlady

The problem is that people react because the result of the last reaction was bad. It takes a lot of time, but if were responsible voters we would not have elected some of our Presidents. Clinton was a good example of damage control From the first women were coming forward and accusing him, that got swept under the table by a great political machine. People were also coming forward indicating that he took bribes while governor of Arkansas, that got quieted down pretty fast. My point is to not attack Clinton, my point is to show how stupid we can be. We want to believe so we believe. If we had really read up on Clinton’s background and his accomplishments as governor of his state, he may not have made it even through the primaries. If you have a vote, you should use it, but use it responsibly. Now with Obama, he sealed almost every record that you might want to see – college especially. BUT, if you had looked at his accomplishments while a senator, looked at the “real” jobs he has held, researched the church that he attended and above all researched his associates, you would most likely have run the other way really fast. Be responsible if you are going to vote – read, do not listen to the political speak that they give you when they want your vote – that usually changes once they are in office.

    • JDR Sr

We’ll see… Your right once a liar always a liar, You said it.

Bush/ Cheeeneeey lying to get us into a war we didn’t have to fight. Sadam was well controlled with the restricted fly zone. Iraq did not hit us. WMD’s Yellow Cake!

      reg. [no party]

      • JeffH

…I believe there was overwhelming support from Congress on the war issue. That means the Democrats and Republicans supported going to war.

      • Tinwarble

        JDR Sr,

Once again you have no idea what you are talking about. Saddam was not being “controlled”, I was there, I was one of those trying to keep him out of the “No Fly Zone” and I was there to see our F-16′s come back with bullet holes in them. So don’t try to lie to me and say that he was controlled, you have no idea.

      • JDR Sr

The F-16 Was shot down after Bush started his war, Bush and his lying side kick cheneeeey started a war on lies. pure and simple

      • Tinwarble

        JDR Sr,

So, let me get this straight, you weren’t there and didn’t see the bullet holes in our planes, so you say that Bush lied. And I was there, and even during the Clinton years I saw the bullet holes in our planes as we were preforming Operation Southern Watch and can tell you from a first hand perspective that they were being shot at.
WOW!!!, I sure wished that I had your ability to see across the world with my minds eye and tell what was going on. Perhaps you can enlighten us all and tell us what really has happen to all those planes and boats that have gone missing in the Bermuda Triangle, sense you seem to be able to tell what has happened without actually being a witness.

      • Michael J.

        JDR Sr,
To continue Tinwarble’s thought, I’ve always wondered what Jimmy Hoffa’s actual fate was and also, I haven’t seen my dog in a week. Can you help?
P.S. Which theater of war was it that you participated in?

This is the most RACSIEST WEBSITE I have ever seem. I think that you are a white biget and hate the President because he is BLACK. But what you dont know is you and your whitey people cannot stop what GOD has pronunce to be

      Whitey

      • JC

Some might dislike him because he is (half) black. I despise him because he is all red. God has pronounced nothing here, but I’m sure he is amused.

      • denniso

I agree that a lot of the hatred toward Obama is based on race…but, don’t forget that this same kind of hate was directed by these same people at Clinton and Hillary…a lot of it is just aping the hate from Limbaugh and Savage. It’s disgusting and juvenile and at times, racist. It also plays right into the hands of the people who want to bring our country down, like bin Ladden. The word traitors comes to mind.

      • DaveH

It is you who are the traitor Denniso. You are aiding and abetting those who want to subvert the Constitution and assume Absolute Power.

      • denniso

You’re joking again, right DaveH??? Absolute power??

      • DaveH

You would have said the same to Hitler’s detractors, Dumniso, had you been around then.

      • Tinwarble

Hey, demsho, now don’t tell anyone, but you know there are racist everywhere, there are even some black people that don’t like white people. Maybe, those black people who don’t like Obama are racist too, and they don’t like his white half. Actually, it’s not Obama’s color that people have a problem with, it’s probably because most people have Automatonophobia, although I think you have Ideophobia and Gnosiophobia.

And I guess the diatribe being spun out by Bill Maher, Janeane Garofalo, Al Franker and the rest of the Liberal talking heads is patriotic. You throw around “traitor” like it’s your own personal football, yet you have never done a patriotic thing in your life. You know what is traitorous, when you try to subvert the Constitution and say that the “Constitution is a charter of negative liberties”, when you do something Unconstitutional by trying to make people buy a product (Health Care) and then fining or making it a offense if you don’t buy the product.

      • DaveH

        Tin,
The HealthCare Bill is just the tip of the iceberg. Liberals are all about Force. They have little morality. They will take our property and our lives if we let them.
We have seen that precedent in Germany, Russia, and China.

      • denniso

Could you be a little more hyperbolic??? That’s kind of tame, don’t you think?

      • DaveH

Denniso thinks it is clever to make comments that any 13 year old would envy.

      • Meteorlady

Denniso – Bill and Hillary are a couple of scammers with the morals of dogs in heat. They were crocked in Arkansas (Tyson Chicken payoffs to Bill comes to mind) and were crooked in the White House. The White House had a revolving door for lobbyist and foreigner seeking preferential treatment. Free trade with China was for Walmart because Hillary was on their board for awhile in Arkansas. People mysteriously died or went to prison around them – people that could have shed light on their dealings. Hillary didn’t find court ordered documentation for over a year and then it had been partially destroyed. My point is, most of us hate corruption and lying. We have respect for people of strong moral character and it has nothing to do with skin color. Most of us want the Constitution of this country enforced, not torn apart. If you are going to site how great someone is maybe you should read more history about the person. The Clintons are pretty well documented as are other past presidents.

      • Palin12

I witnessed a great deal of hatred (in the 2008 elections) towards Sarah Palin from the liberal lunatics. Don’t think for a second that liberals are these kind, caring, wonderful people who never exhibit hatred. Hillary is a prime example of a hardened heart full of hatred for people she disagrees with. This goes back to her days as First Lady (if you can call her a lady, lol) and her ruthless investigation of the White House travel office and using the IRS as her personal weapon. Dodging bullets in Kosovo, indeed!

      • Claire

Palin12—LOL!!!!! I remember the dodging bullets at Kosovo. I laughed and laughed. She got caught! I thought it was funnier than heck. But it proves a point, a person always gets “caught.”

      • DeNorm/EyesWideShut

I think all politicians are dodgeing memory loss. They either don’t realize that the public can fact check everything they say or that not everyone is just plain stupid.

      • git it right

DeNorm, you are 100% correct. People on this site forget that when they make statements they can be fact checked. Then they get mad that their statements didn’t match the facts.

How about when it was directed at Bush? Oh, wait it’s Ok for you to do that to Bush – his belief system is different than yours.

      • JeffH

cynthia, Your comments are as racist and as bad as the one that was censored earlier. Why is it that the liberals display so much hatred yet accuse others of being haters?

      • libertytrain

JeffH – excellent points, sadly that she will not understand.

      • Meteorlady

OK Cyn – lets talk race. I don’t like Obama anymore than I liked LBJ or FDR – they were socialist and wanted to redistribute my wealth. We have the Black Journalist Society, all black colleges, a Black caucus in the Senate and House, etc etc. We have minority funding opportunities and we have given preferential treatment to minorities for years and years, along with handout programs. Has it all done any good? Maybe some, but most are still where they were when these things started – hugh amounts of money, time and effort spent for little return. We allowed people to step into line before people that had better grades or more work experience. If a white person did any of these things we would be labeled bigots as you have just done. So, I find it offensive that you label me “Whitey” but did that stop you? I worked and paid taxes so all of the above could happen and I got not much back out of it at all except more unfairness, name calling, labeling, and a lot of money wasted. So tell me who is the bigot here – you or me?

That seems to be a disgusting fact. I love to listen to our conservative black leaders and colleagues discuss their lives, philosophies, and experiences. Many are quite educated and share our love of country, as well as many of our traditions. They want the best for all Americans, including African-Americans, and understand the way to success is through free market capitalism, not socialism like the progressive liberals have been pushing. Our objection to Obama is really our objection to the progressive agenda, not Obama as a person.

The standard form of Media as in MSN, ABC, CBC, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, let alone within political circles be they the belt way in DC or your home state is far more so than this sight.
The very form of segregation of race / color as a preface to the word American that Political Correctness gang created, is far more in the vien of what you note.

After all your either an American or your not. Just think how it sounds Afician American, English American, French Americanm, Spanish American.
The very roots of this mind set bring forth a RACE issue that is fundamental flawed.

Treat everyone as YOU wish to be treated, its that simple, yet that simple rule is found in every Religion. Don’t you think its strange how the media has twisted that.

Think RATING nothing more nothing less.

Cynthia–Personally I could care less if a President was green. I am a whitey too, and I suppose you could also call me a “honkie.” But you know what? Names do not bother me. I know what I am and proud of it. The people on this post are expressing their opinions, maybe some go little overboard (I have at times) but nonetheless they have a right to their opinions and a right to express them, whether they are Republican, Democrat, Independent, Conservative,Libertarian, or Progressive. I have never seen the people on this post call Obama the “N” word. If I did, then I would consider it to be a problem. Therefore, as far as I am concerned, enuf said.
It is a matter of being concerned for the future of America and all Americans.

      • denniso

Claire…people can express their opinions, true. But when many on this site openly threaten violence against Obama and others and equate them to Hitler and Nazis, don’t you think that’s over the line? Our country has a recent history of assassinations, especially of Blacks and liberals…some of the more hateful and violent comments can be construed as supporting the use of violence against the people who are demonized..much like what Hitler actually did. I can’t believe that you support those sort of comments..they’re not productive and only add to the violent climate in our country.OK,call me names, other people.

      • DaveH

        Denniso,
Amazing. You are allowed to bore the others on this board with your Liberal diatribes and yet you seek to silence the voices of those who differ in opinion. You are much more like Hitler than those you accuse.

      • George

        Denniso,

I agree that we should not encourage violence against each other or our political leaders in particular. That is over the top. However, please keep in mind that conservatives are generally opposed to a strong central government, and actually fear it. This is a historical fear that has its roots in the conflicts the Irish and Scottish people had with the English government, and later problems many of the Western pioneers had with the established Eastern government, differences the South had with the North over states rights, and on and on. Conservatives are folks who often live in rural states where hunting and gun ownership is a tradition. Conservatives serve in our military services and are familiar with handling and using guns in support of this country. So, sometimes conservatives may express their concern for a strong central government in terms that offend liberals, but just remember, conservatives love this country and will defend it against enemies, both foreign and “domestic.” Also, keep in mind that if you support the progressive movement, you are seen by conservatives as advocating abandonment or change to many of our honored traditions, including our Constitution in its original form and meaning, and a strong central government, which conservatives dislike at its core. Conservatives are generally very good people, but they often see progressives as enemies of this country……….

      • Meteorlady

Thanks George – you said it well. We love our country and it’s people. We love our freedoms more than our government right now and that’s a fact. We have had more and more freedoms taken away from us. If you don’t believe that talk to an older American and find out what it was like when the were younger. States have the right to institute health care, social services, subsidized housing, etc. but the Federal Government has not rights to do that and the Constitution merely states that they should protect our property, protect our sovereignty, provide us defense from foreign invasions and most of protect our freedoms. They have not done that, nor have they demonstrated that they are capable of doing that. I for one, hate the fact that I am thought a child by my government who regulates everything from the food I eat to the seat belt I am force to wear – all freedoms lost.

      • denniso

George….thanks for not calling me or Obama any names. I don’t think you believe that liberals/Dems don’t love their country too,do you? And if conservatives think that we’re are ‘enemies of our country’,you should know that we believe that arch conservatives are wrecking the country, and in the case of Cheny/Bush,wrecking the world. We think that extreme conservatives want to keep the country and the world stuck in the dark ages, for instance gay rights, civil rights. We also think,w/ good reason, that most conservatives are always in favor of war rather than talk and reason.
If conservatives are so worried about large central gov’t,then why didn’t they scream about all that Cheny/Bush were doing in that regard?? Increased domestic surveilance, more concentrated presidential powers, more big spending…

      • DDC

        denniso
you are the only one on here that I see slinging mud. But, as with most Liberal endeavors, his best isn’t very good. Ah, the nostalgia. It takes me back to the good old days – eigth grade, when debates were conducted with childish manipulative tactics like those Denniso employs.

        Denniso,
Yuri Bezmenov stated as an example of aggressive progressive tactics that,”My opinion is logical and your opinion is illogical no matter what the topic may be”. Saul Alinsky was a major theorist associated with The Frankfurt School whose twisted conception of logic this was. The Frankfurt School in 1920′s Germany was also responsible for the concept of what is now reffered to as,”Political Correctness”.

      • Michael J.

        Nwrkjoel,
Mr. Obama’s skin color and facial features are very much a common thing amongst his fellow Kenyan countrymen. His light skinned caucasion like features however, have been attributed to his white mother and is a topic that has been allowed to flourish in an effort to leave out the possibility in the minds of the public that he may have in fact been adopted by his white mother. This scenario provides motive for smuggling the infant Obama to Hawaii and the application for a Certificate of Live Birth instead of a Birth Certificate.

This burning question of eligibility is destined to become an inigma which may rival the question of the second shooter on the grassy knoll.

        Judy Marie,
Exactly, How is that possible? Rumor has is that Associate Justice, David Soutor resigned because of the courts refusal to hear two cases that disputed Obama’s eligibility to be POTUS.

cynthia, the biggest racist we have in Washington is Barrack Obama. He has showed this many times right in front of our on eyes. I think you could look back and see that this is his weakness.
No one considered his race during election time, because it didn’t show. Now that he is in office he is beginning to show his true color.
I was raised around black people. They worked in our home, and where loved by all of my family. They in turn loved our family. They were treated the way that we wanted to be treated. They were fantastic in doing the jobs that was appointed to them, they never complained.
Color does not have anything to do with jobs or leaders. The ones that are in Washington whether white or black were put there by as many white people as there was black people. Those of you that are trying to push the RACE game are completely absurd. There is no room for this in our society today.
As a trial lawyer I will say that I handle more black cases than I do white cases. You could go to any of their families, white or black, and they will tell you that they where treated with utmost respect from any one of my law offices. That is one thing I will not tolerate out of any of my lawyer representatives.
I also will not tolerate any lawyers or clients lying to me.
I meet with a lot of our house members in congress, and yes there has been times that I have had to turn many of them away. The reason being was of the racist nature some of them showed.
We as a nation we need to learn to get along with color of skin, no matter what color they are, or we are. I am a white male, played basketball with a lot of black people that where much better players than me. Some of them went on to play in the NBA. Both colors.

I do not agree with what, and how Obama is handling our nation in many ways, but the color of his skin has nothing to do with it. Yes he has lied numerous times, and double talked on many different issues before us today. You on here know exactly what issues I am talking about, because you have mentioned them in many different comments day after day.
We as people need to put aside the race issue to better provide for our country. We can disagree on issues but we do not need to involve race in those things that we disagree on.
God made us all, and he gave some of us different color skin.We need to love one another the way God has made us. GOD BLESS YOU—AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you. I enjoyed your story, and agree with your conclusion.

      • Meteorlady

Nice story – but…… Jesse and Al would have no income if everyone were just “Americans”. It is to their benefit to keep the races separate. It’s how they make their money and fame. If you really want to place blame – place it on them. Have you ever seen or heard of them going into communities, pulling up their sleeves and helping out “their” people? Do they give most of their salaries, like other clergy, to help better the standards of living in the communities they profess to represent? Until we stop portraying people as something other than American we will be divided and there will be people like Cynthia who hate.

        Cynthia,

I have NEVER seen any racist comments on this site. If ONE nitwit comes here to disrupt this site, it’s probably a trouble-causing, liberal instigator! What people keep forgetting, O-bum-a is HALF WHITE, even though he’s rejected his heritage of his own WHITE mother. So WHO’S THE RACIST?!

Our rejection to this ENTIRE administration (not just O-bum-a) has nothing to do with skin color. We’re not that shallow! We’re against this radical, Progressive agenda! We’re against Big Government attempting to control every aspect of our lives. We’re against tyranny! We’re against having our free, capitalist republic turned into a third world country or being part of a universal government!

I’m sick of being called a “racist” simply because I disagree with this president’s agenda & because I don’t want to live under a “dictator” that thinks he has the right to impose his “Executive Orders” over the People & our Constitution. Were all black people who were against Bush racists?

You & everybody else need to get off the “race card”, because we’re sick of it!

      • DaveH

Just ignore them MadGirl. They know we aren’t racists. They just have no logical arguments to add so they must launch personal attacks.

      • Robin from Indiana

        cynthia…
Barry is a mulatto! He’s not black and he’s not white! So who is being racist? Are the comments against his lack of leadership skills and experience only directed to his half black side, or his half white side? How do you know which?
Sweetie… race has nothing to do with it. This 2010 and by the mere fact that he was voted in as president should prove that issue.
Now as far as WHO he is… that is another story. But trust me, it has nothing to do with the color or his skin!

Mr. Kenneth; Agreed, agreed. The Democratic party’s arrogance is over!!!!
      Example:
Senior Citizens who supported Obama in 2008 election have deep, deep regrets. If you cut 500 billions dollars on Medicare, and the “DEATH PANEL”? you scare the hell out of them.

Young voters are scared as well; because if they do not participate or purchase their own insurance as mandated by the government, they will go to jail. Your own government put you to jail?

Women should uproar as well, because they are not allowed to have mammogram except once every other year.

Blaming Bush is an old trick and it doesn’t work anymore, people are awaken to reality. Reminder: The Republican party are in control in 1996 until 2006. The unemployment between 1996- 2006 was 7%, and never above 8%. Democrats took control in 2006 – present, Today they quadruple the deficit, Voter frauds (the ACORN), highest unemployment since 1983, out of control government spending, back room deal with Sen. Bell Nelson of Nebraska, $300 millions dollars to the Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, and so on…

We have good people in our side; Like, Michael Steel who is working hard, smart, eloquent, friendly, and of course; the groups of fearless, maverick brilliant Republicans who fought hard for liberty and the United States Constitution. I think we can pull this up in November. Bravo. Adios.

if we blame any one president, or any one race, any one branch of the government, any political party, any freedom movement, any rights movement, one side or another we are holding a losing hand.
long as we look at them, we arent looking at us.
        what can we do?

Putting into prospective what a trillion really really is. I should send this to the White House so they won’t be throwing those numbers around like it is a buck twenty five.
A friend recently gave me a sense of how much a trillion is with an illustration you can also find on various Internet sites. A million seconds, he said, is 12 days, while a billion seconds is 31 years. A trillion seconds? That’s 31,688 years. In other words, a trillion is a whole, whole lot, and that’s something you might keep in mind when reading that the U.S. deficit for 2009 is now projected at $1.4 trillion, which is a cool trillion more than the deficit in 2008 and the most government spending as a percentage of gross domestic product – 10 percent – since World War II.”

Dan…you say Obama is showing ‘malicious disregard of the founding fathers’. Is that supposed to be a joke or is it what it sounds like, insanity?? You people are SO beyond reason, once again I’m amazed! I keep thinking that some of you will actually discuss issues rationally, but no,you can’t. Now,for some reason here…I am a liberal, independent, and irate over the idea that either the feds or state gov’t could try to force us to buy any product from a private corp. It’s patently unconstitutional and if it came to be,I think it would be held to be unconstitutional..but,that doesn’t mean that we don’t urgently need major healthcare reform..it’s just a lousy way to achieve reform and is a sell out to your favorite buddies, the giant med corporations.

Denniso: You want facts and valid arguments – Here’s some research for you on Health Care and Hillary’s attempt. Read it – it sounds oh so familiar.

I have a couple of questions for you also.

Do you think it was right to take over GM and give a controlling share to the Unions? It was, after all my money that was given to a failed, poorly run corporation.

Do you think it right that after I worked and did everything right in my life I now have to pay for people that didn’t choose to take advantage of the opportunities that were there for them?

Where do you think the money will come from for all these grand social experiments? The rich are leaving this country and going elsewhere and the ones that are still here are using accountant to shelter their dollars. Got a conclusion yet?

      • denniso

Meteor…Ronald Reagan, god of conservatives, bailed out Chrysler in the early 80′s. He did it to save American jobs. Pretty simple. Obama is trying to save our capitalist economy by preventing a huge depression..one aspect in the effort is to save businesses that employ tens of thousands of American workers. Read what almos all trained economists say about the recession and bailouts and stimulus and try to imagine that they know a little more than you or I or your fellow hotheads.

      • eyeswideopen

They also bailed out Amtrac and a large bank that a Bush son ran in Illinois. denniso, you forget, they bailed out the entire WallStreet group and don’t want to do anything for Main Street. Repubs allready saying no, to any assistance for jobs programs, or tax reductions for middle class. Heard Boehner was over visiting AIG’s CEO, trying to get them to donate to the Republican Party. Let’s get this straight, Republican President asks US taxpayers to bail out Wall Street, they continue to not lend money to smaller banks that serve small business,(Main Street) and now our money will be sent to the Republican Party? If you are going to steal our money, try and be a little less obvious, get it from some of the corporations that we all didn’t bail out with our tax dollars. No integrity.

    • (Wondering Woman)

Trying the whole shebang for treason could shorten their time in Washington, DC and end the stalling game their backers are playing..
the object of this stalling is to give them more time to totally destroy us – way past time for our elected officials who swore to uphold our Constitution – to start doing their duty – treason is still treason!!!! and trial for treason sounds more like justice than “tarred and feathered”!

And if we follow long standing advice to “follow the money” a total
audit of the Federal Reserve Bank just might flush out their backers.

    • PJ

OOOPS!! What happened? Obamacare is now law! So much for your filibuster.
