'Bush-blaming' Strategy Less Successful In 2010

January 29, 2010 by

'Bush-blaming' strategy less successful in 2010On the heels of shocking losses in traditionally liberal states, many Democrats have begun to question the strategy behind negative political campaigns that compare Republican challengers to former President George W. Bush, Politico.com reports.

Democratic nominees for governor in New Jersey and Virginia and for the Senate in Massachusetts, all ran smear campaigns that compared their opponents to the former president. All three Republican candidates upset their liberal counterparts.

"Voters are pretty tired of the blame game," said Democratic strategist Steve Hildebrand, a top aide on Obama’s presidential campaign, quoted by the news source. "What a stupid strategy that was."

Meanwhile, Obama, who ran a successful presidential campaign criticizing then-President Bush, has continued to point blame at the previous administration more than a year into his first term.

Fox News reports that Obama and his top advisors have negatively mentioned the Bush administration seven different times since last week’s upset in the Massachusetts Senate election.

"The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office," Obama said last week. "People are angry, and they’re frustrated. Not just because of what’s happened in the last year or two years, but what’s happened over the last eight years."

Time to stop talking and take action, vote all of them out and start over.

    • George

Let’s start with the ones that vote for this health care bill, cap and trade, and legalizing illegal immigrants. The rest, we should think about….

      • DeNorm/EyesWideShut

There is rapidly growing support for just that. We are on the same page. Thanks for your comment.

  • Robert

The American people are waiting for this government, both democrats and republicans to come up with practical solutions to the problems we face today and those of tomorrow. As far as the blame game goes, I believe most of us are fed up with it and we want government to move forward. And that doesn’t mean we want more government control and spending. What don’t those knuckleheads unnderstand?

  • http://n/a Mark

The barry soetoro ‘bama Fool, not president, can’t see past the last two years because he is narcicist. A weak minded fool that thinks he is better than all around him. He needs to look at that idiot clinton’s trade agreement with china. How can American compete with china when they have mostly slave labor and cheaply paid, if that, labor. We have giant, well paid under the table and political block, unions that claim to protect the workers when all they are doing is driving us out of the market. Smearing Bush is not going to help, it is time to smear his leftist party. When Bush was President all the movie stars and country stars and left demidiots smeared and disrespected him and now that the shoe is on the other foot they cannot handle what they were dishin’ out. They are weak minded and support a weak minded gov’t. Think about it, people that can’t see past two years ago and a mentally retarded woman speaking for the house.

  • david

Yeah Obama Yeah America! I believe he has done quite a lot of good in a very short amount of time. Recession/Depression averted—country safe— A new generation of voters’ excited and engaged!

It is indeed a giant leap forward in my humble estimation.

    • Warrior

You are right, he has certainly awaken the american people and gotten them re-engaged in identifying political corruptness. Hooray!!

For Bush, there’s probably some mileage left that the dems can make him a scapegoat for.

    • DaveH

Yep, He averted Mass Starvation, Mass Extermination, and all the other non-existent future events that the Liberals can dream up. It’s so easy to make stuff up. How about just sticking to the facts, Like 10% Unemployment, 12.3 Trillion Dollars of National Debt, and 107 Trillion Dollars of Unfunded Liabilities?

      • American Citizen

Head today the unemployment rate is in reality more like 20% due to so many people having stopped looking for a job.

    • JC

The country has never been in worse shape. And there is no way what Obama has done can be fixed. And that is the goal…the ruination of America. It’s time to turn America back into a nation of riflemen.
Its time the citizenry were taken seriously again. This moron in DC thinks he’s playing with monopoly money.

      • denniso

jc…you ignorance is showing very brightly. ‘The country has never been in worse shape’? You haven’t heard of the Great Depression? Read up on that time before you make another comment as dumb.

    • JeffH

david is just trying to get a rise out of people.

  • http://BlamingBush?Really? Melody

I believe Obama is nothing more than a con man. He is the most unethical, detached, unemotional man to hold this office. He has no love or connection to this country. He hates democracy, hates anyone who challenges his thoughts, his idealogy, and his agenda. He has a narcists personality and is quickly becoming annoying and irritating. I actually believe he wants to destroy the country and its standing in the world. I think he is disgusting and has a selfish, self importance stance on his abilities and influence in the world. LOL His arrogance is a joke and will be the death to the democrat party.

    • http://Don'thaveone Sally

He belongs where he was born in Kenya. This is where they put up with this kind of person!!! That is if you have money

      • Claire

All politicians need to go back to where they came from, and exist like everyone else. I would hope they would realize a few things, but they won’t. They don’t care. They have plenty of money that they received from the taxpayers so they would no doubt live like movie stars.

    • denniso

Melody, you say that ‘Obama is nothing more than a con man’…and I guess you think that Cheny is a warm hearted, loving, Christian???

  • B Fan

Norm: If you will check back during the Bush administration you will find that none of them ever said that anyone using their freedom of speech during a march in D.C. were “enemies of the government” like Nancy Pelosi did! She also said that certain groups, NRA members, Veterans and people using their freedom of speech, (who are all law abiding) would be put on the terrorist list!! If anyone can’t figure out what Pelosi, Reid, and the rest of those Liberals are, they must not have any common sense! WAKE UP!

    • JC

B Fan, they’re quite simply horrible people.

  • deltadawn

This may have worked for the first few months but by now it’s just lame. He’s been in office a year. Unemployment #s have gone up over 10%. In Dec. 2008, one month b/4 Bush left office, Ohio had 7.4# unemployment, in Dec. 2009 it was 10.9% and expected to go even higher when Jan. #s are revealed. People aren’t stupid regardless of his opinion of us. Even those who voted for him are beginning to question the effectiveness of his policies. The nearly $1T stimulus pkg. which was supposedly to create new jobs seems to be used for anything but job creation. It clearly isn’t working and the time to stop blaming Bush and taking responsibility for his choices is way past due.

    • DaveH

      Dawn,
You’re dreaming. The Liberals will not ever accept responsibility. Franklin Roosevelt presided over 10 years of Depression and they still worship him. It took 60 years for the Communists in Russia to throw in the towel, and they are still trying to take it back.
It’s not easy to tell someone, whose gaze is firmly fixed on the trough, that it takes hard work, sacrifice, and calculated risks to make a good economy.

      • George

        “Funny” how that works.

    • denniso

Delta…sorry to say,but some people are actually stupid, sad though it is. And,this recession came about by a bursting economic bubble that took yrs to develop..this is the largest collapse since the ’29 depression and it could have been bigger than even that,if not for Bush and Obama injecting $$ into the economy to keep it from totally collapsing…try quiting w/ the hate toward Obama and do some real reading on the subject, not from rightwing zealots but from economists.

  • http://toast.net louis

when 2012 comes around who will Mr. Obama blame then? who will on his blame list for him to blame then. maybe he needs[zeal] a damascus road expericne like falling of his donkey? when the Lord kick off saul the donkey and change him into paul. well there only about four feet from the back of the donkey to fall from. the other part is when the donkey started talk to the prophet, when the prophet was in rebelion against the Lord, when he was to bless the nation of[US] Israel. if any of this type of things do happen to Mr. Obama, he can not blame Mr. Bush for any of his own problems that may show up in his own term as president

    • Robert

2012? He’ll blame Bush of course. And all his followers will applaud and tell the rest of us we don’t know anything because we belong to the party of NO. And MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, the Times, Washington Post and all the other medias that are in his pocket will agree. And if for, God Forbid, THE CHOSEN ONE is not re-elected it will be because of those no good for nothing Tea Partiers, Conservative Racists and Brown Shirters that were’nt arrested, tried, convicted and given the death penalty back in 2010. That is of course, if we’re still around then, we might all be in school learning how to speak chinese.

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

True Robert – Good to see you back. Yep it now will be Chineese to learn, wonder which dialect – before it would have been Farsi but the Bank of Dubai a month or so ago, was in real financial trouble – just can’t trust those Arabs even with their own money! It was because of all the defaults on those mega billion dollar edifices they build in the desert ie a ski resort in a bubble and oh yea! don’t forget the islands that look like palm trees!!

    • JeffH

He will still be saying his replacement won for the same reason he won and Scott Brown won. The people are still disgusted with the Bush administration.

      • American Citizen

We could write his speeches for him, couldn’t we?

      • DeNorm/EyesWideShut

Wouldn’t he be forced to speak the truth?

  • Perley

How about that. Norm is at it again.
Norm please take of the blinders, remove your earplugs,
take off your rose colored glasses and stop smoking
whatever it is you are using to alter your sense
    of reality

    • JeffH

Norm is just a lackey for the liberals.

      • denniso

that’s all you can do,isn’t it?? Call people names rather than think and discuss…

      • JeffH

Look in the mirror denisso. You think you are the perfect one here? Practice what you preach!

1.Certainly don’t listen to DaveH who’s main credential is hating the gov’t
2.Sorry,but Ayn Rand was a fiction writer and John Galt was a figment of her imagination. She also turned out to be a bit of a joke as a human..read about her.
3.Karen…DaveH is psychotic about his hatred of ‘liberals’ or ‘progressives’ or anyone who is not rightwing or libertarian. He’s deluded into being a pawn for the rightwing under the guise of ‘libertarianism’.
        4. The real test would come if Muslims and Hindus and Wiccans tried to shove their religion into schools…watch the hypocrital Christians scream then. They only favor religion in public places because they are in the majority and they can dominate the others.
5.Dan…you have got to be a fool,w/ all due respect…a charge of treason for ‘malicious disregard of the founding fathers’??? Man alive, get a grip or go back to school or stop typing and read some good books..you have got to start thinking! I’m just glad that you’re an ally of the other crackpots here and not on my side.
6.Dee…isn’t it nice and refreshing to finally have a smart and caring president trying his best to fix the messes in the country?? Even if Obama can’t do anything w/ the righties obstructing everything,I’m still pleased to have such a groundbreaking president.
7.Sorry Mark, but it’s not too difficult to sound superior to some of the dimwits in our country. If more people had better education, then Obama wouldn’t appear superior
8.For the Repub controlled Supreme Court to decide that corporations are the same thing as human citizens and deserve the same degree of free speech is nothing but absurd and outrageous. I hear too, that it will open the door to foreign corporations that do biz here, and allow them to contribute to our candidates…ridiculous and maybe the end to any pretense of Democracy.
9.I agree that a lot of the hatred toward Obama is based on race…but, don’t forget that this same kind of hate was directed by these same people at Clinton and Hillary…a lot of it is just aping the hate from Limbaugh and Savage.
10.Claire…people can express their opinions, true. But when many on this site openly threaten violence against Obama and others and equate them to Hitler and Nazis, don’t you think that’s over the line? Our country has a recent history of assassinations, especially of Blacks and liberals
11.OK numbskull, so now you think that threats of violence against the president and people on this site is just ‘opinion’??
12You’re spewing the talking points of Limbaugh and Savage…I doubt you could name one rational reason why you hate Pelosi or Reid..you’re nothing but a rightwing reactionary who is doing the bidding of your corporate masters…think a little on your own, please.
13.George, why are you just repeating the same mantra as everyone else here? I’ve assumed you were smarter than some here, and reasoned a bit more, but you’re only echoing the same old cliches…evil ‘central gov’t’ and evil ‘progressives’ who essentially hate our country. You can do better George.
14.Michael…I’m past the juvenile stage of developement so i have no ‘messiahs’…you ,on the other hand, apparently worship at the altar of Limbaugh,Savage,Beck and O’Reilly, judging by your ‘talking points’ that are identical to their meaningless blab.
15.Michael…so,that’s interesting..you guys think that you came up w/ all the ‘conservative’ talking points and that Limbaugh and Beck follow you? You can’t imagine that they are leading you down a path that benefits them and they’re bank accts?
16.Fedup…you’ve got to be kidding, right?? ‘Conservatives don’t assassinate the character of those you disagree with’? Wow!! You better look around this site…your comment is ludicrous and laughable. Obama equated w/ Hitler? Obama is a fascist? Obama wants to kill off old people? Obama is a communist? Obama is not an American? Either you are blind or in total denial of what your party does in smearing their opposition. The Repub party is nothing but a party of character assasination and personal smears. Listen to your god Limbaugh…he smears absolutely everyone he disagrees with. Wake up man!!

      • libertytrain

JeffH – nice — funny how folks don’t realize what spews from their typing fingers.

  • Mickey Steib

We are going to have to face the fact that our US (and even the world) economy grew to such a sophisticated and intricate state that the simplistic principles that have such a good first blush sound to them are just not enough. Strong intellectual, yes intellectual, study has been needed for some time as an integral part of governing our economy. Electing those from the bottom of their class could possibly work if it is coupled with strong work from those who are capable of working past the simplistic principles and making educated decisions on regulation and deregulation to fit what is needed to protect our countries economic good health. Speaking of “health” the medical good health in our country also needs more intelligent attention, rather than the decisions of profit oriented insurance companies without enough governing regulations. Friends have been denied and died.

    • Bob B

Intelligence yes. Unfortunately the liberals and progressives in elected office are have a significant lacking in that regard.

    • http://Don'thaveone Sally

You think that Insurance Companies are the problem – Whew. Back a couple of years ago when I was shopping for health insurance for our small business, I was told by several of the companies, “We could have lower rates but the Government will not allow it” No we have to go on a system like Canada. You have no idea what in the blue blazes you are talking about!!!! England, even in their private hospitals, are absolutely filthy. Just hope you never get sick over there and have to be taken care of. Canada, for a difficult procedures, like gal bladder removel, cancer treatment, heart by pass, you will wait in line for at least 6 months hoping that you will die first so they don’t have to pay. It happen to a Canadian friend of mine that vacationed for 6 mos. in Florida everyyear and owned property down the street. He got sick while here, our hospitals treated him but because the Canadian insurance would not pay for the p-rocedure, he was flown back to Canada where he awaiting treatment that he never got because he was dead in 6 months. All he needed was a gall bladder removal.!!!!!

      • George

Oh my God! What a tragedy. It’s really scary to think we may get that sort of government-run health system here.

    • Claire

      Mickey Steib:: Agreed.

      • Claire

I zeroed in on his last two sentences.

    • DaveH

Oh, that’s a fact huh? We are too technologically advanced to have Freedom? I’m sorry to break the news to you Mickey, but that is a very old argument. It was made in the 1700s and probably has been made even before then.
What is it about technology that makes it necessary to have Big Government step on our Freedom? If anything the advances in technology would enable less intrusive watching of the criminal element, so as to make it less necessary to restrict the citizens Freedom.

      • DaveH

Another very big consideration is now more than ever before the Government has the technology to completely suppress us if they get out of control. So technological advancement would actually be a good reason to lessen the size and power of Government.

      • denniso

If the gov’t wanted to enslave us totally like some here think, they could have already done it…current technology and weapons in the hands of ‘the gov’t’ are plenty enough to do the job…so,what is Obama waiting for?? why hasn’t it happened yet? You’re just like the preachers declaring the end of the world every decade or so. Both are a sham designed to control people for political and monetary reasons..wake up folks!!

    • JC

Mickey its all been manipulated to this point.
The solution is incredibly simple. Close the Fed.

  • Bob B

Mr. Obama is OUR President to be sure. However, respect for the “Office of the President” does not translate to respect for the person holding that office. He has NEVER held my respect, nor will he in the forseeable future. This man is not necessarily a fraud, as he has numerous times told us exactly what he plans to do. Unfortunately the majority in this country chose not to hear and fully appreciate what he was telling us over and over again.

Finally America is beginning to wake up to his words and deeds and hopefully it is not too late to get our collective act together to bring some meaningful “change” back to our country’s founding principles to present some real “hope” for our future! It starts now, in 2010, with the elections and with the public getting involved directly with our elected officials “currently” in office. I urge you all to voice your wishes, needs, and your displeasure with what has been going on in Washington, D.C. as well as in our State and Local governments. They all need to see and hear from the awakening giant on a regular and increased basis, both in words and in our actions at the town halls, rallies and the voting booths. KEEP THE FAITH AND THE VISION OF A FREE AND INDEPENDENT UNITIED STATES OF AMERICA!!

    • Mickey Steib

No president has been able to tell us exactly what he will do!
” exactly what he plans to do” has always been met with adjustments, sometimes due to a crises situation, sometimes due to lack of support, sometimes due to difficulties in implementation that were not well thought out earlier. I am glad to see our economy recovering and I enjoy having my investments once again making money. I am also glad to see our military placed more intelligently on intelligence that is real. I enjoy hearing our president saying things like “you do not gain the moral high ground by killing women and children on a bus” rather than the more simplistic “bring it on.” One leads to a Nobel Peace Prize and the other leads to effigy burning! This is surprising mostly to those who did not hear the statements or did not note the difference in level.

      • Bob B

Mickey, while you may be fond of what he says about the “moral high ground” but when he fails miserably at speaking out in a timely fasion against the brutal suppression of the freedom-seeking Iranians, he cannot claim the moral high ground! When he stops apologizing for our great country and gets a backbone of conviction and commitment to our county’s values and principles, then we’ll see about his “moral ground.”

As for the economy and the military references, keep drinking the kool-aid.

      • Warrior

Good thing they gave all that money to the banks to invest so they could prop up the markets and help you out. Seems to me like the markets are starting to tank now that they chose to repay.

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

The Nobel Peace Prize is a Farst!!!!!!! Obama and Jimmy Carter. Nothing about Reagan who got our hostiages back or torn down the Berlin Wall. The reason was because the world was afraid of him and they didn’t croaa the line. They know with Obama and Carter they can smear us all of the map and we will as shown bow down to them. I have never bowed down to anyone in my life and it is too late now to start that stupidity.

      • JC

The Nobel foundation is now officially without one iota of integrity.
        They are a joke.

      • JeffH

Can sum it up in two words; Gore, Obama.

  • marvin

befor you vote ask ? is obama what he sez he is is he for all the people all the time or just the liberal left has he put you to work or lost your job is he for the right to work or for the unions is he for health reform or health care take over is he for fixing the illegal problem or just saying we can not stop it so give the illegals amnesty we need 100.000 best and brighest a month to come here and work at tax payer expence don,t he know that respect is a two way street it earned not because he is the pres but for what he has said and done you say something stuped or derogatory or a flat out lie you need to be call out you way i see it he has the same rights as all legal american,s way i see it you call me stuped or wrong you better be able to prove it cause we the voter are the boss at the voting place in 2010 and 2012 you can live in the past and blame bush or open your eyes and see and ears and hearwhat is going on today

    • Mickey Steib

Some of what is going on today has to do with my investments making money again and our country’s military being placed via real intelligence, health care questions that are being asked by both sides about what decisions on health are being made by insurance companies rather than a person’s doctors with specialized education, questions on just how lobbyists are influencing our government and what can be done about it, questions on the degree to which money from special interests and non US sources is influencing our government decisions. All of these are questions that need attention and are now getting that attention with a lot of controversy and some resulting legislation and government action, not always the very best that could happen, but better than before the added attention was provided. We need to work at these issues and find out what individual citizens can do to help in constructive ways.

    • http://Don'thaveone Sally

You know back on one of my posts I asked the question of the liberals such as Norm and Denisso? Or anyone for that matter. I want to know what man of color that has been elected or put into a power position has ever not ruined a country or has brought peace and prosperity to that country. I am serious I want to know.

      • DaveH

        Sally,
There are many Blacks that understand that enslaving other people is not the road to Freedom.
A few that come to mind are Thomas Sowell, Alan Keyes, Charles Payne.

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

I absolutely agree. I love Alan Keyes as I have said before and would have voted for him in a heart beat. However, that was not my question, my questions is and still remains, where in the whole wide world was a black man or woman for that matter, put in power over that country, and that country survived and became prosperous or at least a democracy. That’s it. Just that simple answer.

      • American Citizen

I can’t think of any. I, too, would have voted for Alan Keyes. Our paper stopped carrying Thomas Sowell’s column and I really miss it. These are two black men who have some common sense. The problem is, since they don’t have that mentality of “You owe me”, blacks don’t listen to them.

      • usmadgirl

        American Citizen,

I get a conservative e-mail news letter almost every day & they have articles from Thomas Sowell. He’s one of my favorites. Go to OneNewsNow.com. They also have articles from Michelle Malkin & a lot of others.

  • thefedupamerican

The premise of the article is Blaming Bush doesn’t work for Dems. Obama sure hasn’t gotten that message as he bashed Bush several times in the State of the Union address…what an unpresidential farce that was….he was back to his campaign stump speech, even resurrecting ‘change we can believe in.’ GAWD!
Well I think we all see his ‘change’ and we don’t believe in it. I agree with Shirley Cox, if we want to keep our beloved country free, we gotta get rid of this guy! http://www.thefedupamerican.com

    • George

And we’ve got to get rid of all progressives as well. They’re out to destroy America as we know it…..much, much worse than simple liberals.

      • JeffH

        The progressives are the Democrats.

  • Warrior

And the democrats are still at it in Illinois, smearing and eating each other in the primary races. They are all in favor of tax increases still and not reducing government. Anyone that is not feeding at the public trough has to be certifiable to ever vote for a democrat.

BJ – you hit the nail on the head. The o’s are living large. It reminds me of that show with the theme song ” Movin on up to the East side”.

    • Claire

You should hear the Republicans in Illinois that are running for office. They are all out of their minds.

      • Warrior

Pick the one who is most likely to stand up to machine dems.

      • DaveH

Why do we keep accepting mediocre? Let’s get back to our Founder’s Constitutional Limits. Neither of the major parties is going to take us there. It’s time to “through away our votes” until we build the Party of Principles to the size where the media can no longer ignore us. I have no doubt that Libertarians would succeed mightily if the general population was exposed to our concepts. Freedom is a simple solution to the complex mess which Government has gotten this country into.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am very resentful that I have to spend many days each year saving information and preparing forms just so the Government can take more of my money away to use to further suppress my Freedom.

Vote Libertarian – for Individual Liberty, for Individual Responsibility, for Free Markets, and for Limited Government:
        http://libertarianparty.org/platform

      • DaveH

I know, I misspelled Throw. Forgive me.

      • eyeswideopen

Daveh, been reading Cato stuff, please see http:www.cato-unbound.org/2009/04/06/patri-friedman/beyond-folk-activism

This article seems to say, it would require a major catastrophe in order for the Libertarians to get control. Do you agree?

You probably should also be recommending these two sites,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertarian
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Libertarian_Party
both give ample info on the party.

      • DaveH

Eyes, that may be true. But I’m Hoping and Dreaming that people will learn what Libertarians stand for before it is too late for our once-great country.

      • JeffH

DaveH, sorry to say this, but I think eyes has a real crush on you.
Her one track mind searches for your comments, and one moment says she is considering a change to Libertarian and the next moment critisizing them. We do know that she has one confused mind.

      • http://personalilbertydigest paul t

look into what ron paul has to say. also rember that the bush basher was the highist bidder for the job

      • eyeswideopen

Jeff, no crush on Dave, just have an open mind, unlike you. I can admit that my party hasn’t been fiscally responsible for the past 12 years and I didn’t like it. So I changed. I would like to take the best from all three parties instead of acting like only one has all the answers, which they don’t!!! Can’t wait to see how the new Savior for the repubs Senator Brown handles all those Conservatives who had to have heard his opinion on abortion by now. He will be a one termer, as he deviated from the party line. Too bad. By the way Jeff, unlike you I will ask intelligent people for information, and research what the advise. I am here to learn, what are you here for?

Hi Warrior, The Illinios Dems campaign slogans all seem to be, Vote for me at least I’m not as sleazy as my opponant. As far as a canidate for Governor who will stand against the Dem. machine Dan Croft or Bill Brady are the best bets.

      • Claire

I think I prefer Bill Brady.

      • jim

I think Bill is From your area. I had to do the early vote and he’s the one I chose. I think because he isn’t from the Chicago area he can distance himself from some of their influence.

      • Claire

jim—that is exactly why I chose him. He is from downstate Illinois, away from the machine. I think some of the Republicans candidates are kind of involved with the machine?? Don’t you think?? I have heard things, but it is not proven. However, sometimes where there’s smoke there is fire. So hopefully Brady will take it. I just don’t know, I kind of feel he won’t pull it off. I sure hope I am wrong.

      • Warrior

Proft is the man. Brady is part of Cellini crew.

I didn’t like Obama to begin with. And after watching him do so many things that aren’t right, for our country and it’s people. We need someone in DC that cares about us, not just themselves. He’s done alot of damage to our country and people, just my thoughts.

I think it’s past time, for our Pres. to “bow out”, one can hope?
His color doesn’t bother me, I have black friends, but most don’t like him, either. It won’t be long now, that he will have to give up most of his ideas, AND HIS PRESIDENCY, SO WE CAN keep our country ‘ AMERICA’ FOR ALWAYS.

Barry Soto, has pulled off the most blantant Ponzi ever. What more can you say?

  • Tim

He was a fraud from the start, and finally many are waking up to the fact. Just hope that by 2012, he doesn’t brainwash enough folks to return. Of course there’s always ACORN, Soros, and other crooks to make it work again.

  • B.J. Holmes

Socialism is, indeed, his agenda. He really doesn’t know what’s going on. The job is over his head and he is willing to say anything. He will stop progress of Negros for years, revealing a warped character. Voters will be afraid of them. But he doesn’t care about that either. He cares only about he and Michelle “living it up”. He is the only American president to have had only one “State Dinner” in a year and it was a fake, too. There is nothing to him but fraud. We are really intelligent voters, aren’t we.

  • http://personallibertydigest Bruce

President Obama is kind of a funny person. He thinks he is talking over the heads of the voters. He thinks most cannot understand his tactic. I am not sure how to put it but it is like he does not think the right hand knows what the left hand is doing.

    • TIME

      Again Great Point!

      • denniso

Bruce, how can you be so wrong??? Obama thinks the people understand him when he talks…he overestimates the intelligence of the majority of the public and actually thinks they understand the issues…you for instance, clearly don’t even understand that and you think he has some nefarious and devious plan when he speaks. He’s educated, that’s all. I use the 1/2 of the country who actually voted for a near moron(Bush),and most of the people on this site as the example of people w/ subpar reasoning ability who are resentful of an educated president.

      • DeNorm/EyesWideShut

You are speaking of his “free ride to law school” education I hope.
Now it turns out that an influential, radical black Muslim with close ties to the Saudi royal family and an outspoken opponent of Israel helped finance Obama’s law school education. Obama’s benefactor at the young age of 25 is Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour a/k/a Donald Warden.

Barry Soto is a parrot – thus he reads his Telie Prompters, making him look like a bobble head freak as he twist from side to side, he fails to look dead center, unless he is making that face of Pure arrogance as if he is the cat that ate the dog.

Lets not confuse this with having any brain power, Puppets do what ever the strings makes them do, nothing more nothing less.

      • eyeswideopen

Time, well he did pretty well today against the gang of 140 with no telepromter. Tried to watch it on Fox, but they cut it short to hear from critics. Had to go to CNN. But Cspan will probably carry it in full later. Speaking of Cspan, they are proof that the Repubs were involved in the process, they have tons of committee footage showing all the major Republicans at the tables. Of course at the end when it was apparent they would vote no on it anyway, the Dems’s didn’t bother to include them and Cspan has no footage of the last meeting.

      • TIME

Hitler was a great orator too…and he didn’t even have a teleprompter.
Obama and his agenda are almost as evil.

      • JeffH

Obviously you didn’t watch him using the teleprompter while speaking the Republican Winter Retreat. Every time he glances at the teleprompter he will do the mmm, uhh routine. The Republicans did a pretty good job on him, but as usual he did the classic political “double speak”. Never a direct answer and the usual excuses blaming just about everything he responded to on something or someone. Also, he used his usual I, me routine.
The bottom line is that he “ain’t gonna deviate” from his ideals.

      • denniso

Jeff, you’re so ridiculous…how the hell would Obama answer questions from the gang of Repubs and use a teleprompter??You’re a joke w/ your blind hatred. All presidents when giving long speeches use teleprompters. How you haters of Obama can dare to criticize Obama after voting in and supporting Shrub, who could barely speak, let alone think,is more than gall..it’s oxymoronic and idiotic. Go ahead, look it up.

      • marvin

being a great talker is good but action speaks more that words don,t tell me you know what i need and say if i dissagree you will get in my face cause i am the president and i can do no wrong [in the eyes of the world] people of the world love me but i say the american voters put you in office and will vote you out for not hearing them and bush is not the president now obama is and has been for over a year just incase you for got

      • Claire

How in the heck can anything get done when they won’t work together to accomplish anything??? As a taxpayer, I despise paying them their salaries for doing nothing. They are working for us–all of them. It is nothing but game-playing, waiting for the next election. The Republicans don’t want the Democrats to accomplish any good for America, so they can be elected. Then when they are elected, the Democrats will do the game-playing. It is a vicious cycle.

      • DaveH

I would gladly pay them for doing “nothing”. It’s the “something” they do that has gotten this country into the trouble it’s in.
The voluntary private sector can address our needs and interests far better than the Government can.

      • Claire

DaveH–Aha!! another good comeback. I see your point.

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

Right at the moment, you can’t blame repubs in Senate especially for anything as because of their numbers couldn’t pass a turtle – the demos are fighting between themselves which I am thankful at the moment because, maybe just maybe no more monies will be spent!!! Ho Ho Ho. I tried to find the article that I had saved showing what a billion dollars really is and what a trillion dollars really looks like put into prospective. I wanted to send it to Obama. They fling these numbers around like they are 1.25. Whew!!!!

      • minnie

When obama speaks, in the next sentence he contradicts himself so you are right that we can understand what he is saying. His problem is he lies and than remember his lefties and then contradicts himself in the next sentence. At least you always knew where Bush stood. Bho’s stradegy is to contradict himself, so when he is done with his speech he did not say anything that is good for our country. Behind closed doors then he says, disregard what I said to the American people, they were just word, just politics.

      • Jana

minnie, you are so right. He lies. I truly think he believes in his own lies at the time, but quickly forgets what he said. That is why he has to have the teleprompter to remind him of his lies. He tries to sound like a preacher. In actuality that is what he is doing to us, preaching his lies and garbage and we are supposed to believe and blindly follow.

      • usmadgirl

        Jana,

You have a gigantic AMEN from me on that!

      • denniso

Sorry, but it’s you people who lie and manipulate the facts and truth. If you were in a room w/ Obama and had to speak you would cower in fear and utter mindlessnes.

      • Frederick H

Firstly, you should do something about your English girl, because it’s like you even flunked third grade. Secondly if you say the President contradicts himself consistently during his speeches, you should, in all fairness, come up with at least one clear example. But all you do is bothering us with a cheap allegation every nine year old can produce. Go get yourself some real and effective education, ma’am.

      • JeffH

Frederick H, reread your comment, then apologize for not being the English scholar you think you are.

      • usmadgirl

        Frederick H,

You need to practice what you preach or at least proof read before you start telling someone how uneducated THEY are for their grammar or spelling. It looses the “dramatic effect” when you make mistakes while correcting others!

      • Michael J.

        Frederick H,
I see your pain through the words that you write. Right now, today, you should search, Yuri Bezmenov for relief from the agony that beseaches you. After reading his literature and watching his videos you will at last know peace by finding out how you have been victimized by the forces of government socialistic indoctrination. You will at last be released from the treachery of relentlessly parroting the left wing communist diatribe that was drilled into your head while you were to young to no better. I do hope you will do this today so that you may avoid drowning in the water that the false messiah walks on.

      • Dale

Norm . . . Barry is speaking over HIS OWN HEAD!!!

      • Norm

        Dale
I’ve seen him speak many times, and he is clear, concise and knowledgable. He answers questions very well also. You may not like what he says, and you have that right, but to continue with the teleprompter nonsense is rediculous. Now who do you think is programming the teleprompter, in real time yet?
Take a look at a farmboy Bush speech some time.

      • TIME

        Norm,

Do you even know what a progressive is?

      • denniso

Part of why these people and others hate Obama so much is precisely that he is educated and sounds intelligent, unlike Shrub who sounded dumb enough to be a friend of theirs. Of course part of Bush’s good ole boy demeanor was fake, done for political reasons, though the good ole boys didn’t have the wherewithal to figure that out. they’re still clueless and think that he would actually have a beer w/ them..what a joke.

  • Arlene Lennerth

President Obama has one agenda and that is to push his far right socialism. The Obama Health Care is more about taking control of 6%of the wealth plus total control over our health than what should be done about health care. He doesn’t hear what the majority of the American people are saying, doesn’t care what the majority want, and doesn’t speak what his real plans are for America. People look at his history. Last but not least he should stop placing blame and take responsibility. Politicians should remember they work for us, something they seems to have forgotten.
    Sincerely,

    • Jana

Arlene, I so agree with you. They all forget who they work for. Even while the country is struggling they get their cost of living increases which actually amounts to a hefty sum. Obama gives his staff bonuses and pay raises.

He talks down to the people that he supposedly works for but secretly-well, not so secretly wants to be dictator over. He is a Progressive. Bush was a Progressive. I am learning a lot about Progressives. It is not a pretty picture.

However, blaming others for his own failures will no longer work, it only works in his own mind.

Everyone says that if he fails on Health Care his admin. is over, but I think that he will still be destructive even if Health Care fails, and I pray it does.

      • eyeswideopen

Jana, you are wrong, he has a freeze on pay increases for three years. The raises you see are from Bush. He authorized a 3.9% increase for government workers for 2009. Nothing he could do about that it was from 2008 budget.

      • Claire

Your are correct on this. Hopefully more pay freezes will follow.

      • JeffH

President Barack Obama has pledged to freeze the salaries of about 120 staffers in his administration who make more than $100,000 per year, saving the government about $443,000 next year, a data analysis shows.
        http://voices.washingtonpost.com/washingtonpostinvestigations/2009/01/_thanks_to_dan_froomkins.html
That ought to make the rest of the country thank him.

      • denniso

During a recession/depression,it is counterproductive to cut gov’t spending…the private sector is already cutting back and consumers are not spending like they normally would. If the gov’t,states included, curtail spending then the economy stagnates for yrs. Obama is freezing some facets of gov’t for political reasons, not because it will help the recession…luckily,he isn’t freezing enough to hurt much. Focusing too much on spending will drag out the recession. What do people think will restart the economy if the gov’t doesn’t help?? Magic??

      • Meteorlady

There are two types of people in this country – those that actually work and produce something that can be resold and keep the economy going and those that are government employees and entitlement recipients. The government employees produce nothing for the GNP, they just cost us money like the entitlement people. Most all economists will agree that when there is 50% of the people (workers in private industry) supporting the other 50% (government workers and entitlement recipients) we are basically bankrupt and cannot continue. You try and can skew those facts anyway you want but they are pretty cut and dried. Just where do you think we are at this point?

      • Meteorlady

If I all the bailout money had gone back to the taxpayers we would have more spending and jobs. It’s just that simple. Instead our government instituted failed programs that only spurred a portion of the economy for a very short time (cash for clunkers is a good example – it got some cars sold, got some older cars off the road, put people into debt for the new car and ultimately went away and the dealers are back where they started from). If you take and take and take from people they quit working because what is the point? There are immigrants who are collecting more SS money than my mother who worked her entire life and paid into the system. There are immigrants and illegals living in government subsidized housing, I could go on an on, but I’ll spare you because you really never answer me anyway. Maybe because you can’t?

      • denniso

Meteor…modern capitalism is not as simple as you seem to think. You would do well to read some economics.

  • Connie

“The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office,” Obama said last week. “People are angry, and they’re frustrated. Not just because of what’s happened in the last year or two years, but what’s happened over the last eight years.”

Is Obama REALLY wanting us to look back to the years HE was in the Senate? The record shows that Obama voted to spend as much or more than any one other Senator. Too much spending is what got us into this mess!

    • TIME

      Great points!

    • Isirio Abelon

In addition to Connie’s comment. The unemployment rate since 1996 through 2006 “Bush administration” was 7% and never went over 8%, until the Democrats took control in 2006. The same Pres. Clinton’s Cronies who run the economy that contribute the downfall of the economy. Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Maxim waters, to name a few. How about Jim Johnson and Franklin Raine who were facing a grand jury investigations.
Democrats quadruple the deficit within a year when Obama became President, big government, high taxes, highest unemployment since 1983. Now the congress just approved the borrowing limit to 2 trillions more dollars?… lord-dy -lord-dy. Suggestion… blame 25% on Republican admin and 75% on Democrats admin. fair? or stop the blame game face the facts.

      • denniso

Fair?? NO,and totally wrong. Just like 9/11, the economic collapse came UNDER CHENY/BUSH,after 7 yrs of their presidency and 6 yrs of Repub Congressional control. And you think gicing the Dems 75% of the blame is fair?? The only fair thing is to note that most economists, though not all, thought that we had finally done away w/ the risk of a meltdown in our economy. Alan Greenspan,a libertarian and follower of Ayn Rand, amazingly, thought that we now had a new model of capitalism that was invulnerable to collapse…Ayn Rand should now be firmly and finally consigned to the trash can.

      • Meteorlady

Denniso – not you’ve made me really mad! I love Ayn Rand and think we should all study her a bit more. I wish John Galt would return and start bleeding off all the great minds and innovators in this country so we could see what will happen when people move from this country or just quit working and collecting like you advocate. Whose going to pay for the welfare state and create jobs then? Lest you think I am uncaring, I do spend a lot of time doing charity work and give a money to charitable causes. I just have a problem with the government handing out my money in irresponsible and unethical ways.

      • denniso

Sorry, but Ayn Rand was a fiction writer and John Galt was a figment of her imagination. She also turned out to be a bit of a joke as a human..read about her.

But when they are screaming at me about “their rights” I sort of wish them a speedy trip to hell. We are supposed to have the same rights, all of us. I don’t flaunt my sexuality in public, neither does my wife and neither should they. I’m sick of the agenda for which these people are willingly used…the one that destroys all of our rights.

Right now the first priority has to be to educate our people to the agenda of the progressives and stop them where ever we can. Rolling back the damage they’ve done will take a lot longer, but it has to start here and now, or we won’t get another chance.

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

This is true boe. Me also, however I do know of only one that voted for Obummer and that is my brother and sister in law but what can you expect from a Union worker that has never been out of his home town ever in Ohio. They are still of the opinion that “Demos are for the working man and Rep are for the Rich” Don’t listen to the news you might have to think!!. Even my daughter, her husband, and my sister who have been dyed in the wood Democrats, didn’t vote for Obummer. You are also so right Mr. Time!!!

    • Arkham Grundy

Dullard Americans have a short memory. BUSH and his CRONIES ARE RESPONSIBLE for many of the daunting problems we now have to fix. Many people who voted for Obama are intelligent thoughtful people who were sick of the dim wit policies of the last administration and could bring themselves to vote for any ticket that would put the even less cerebral Sarah Palin any where near the White House.

Your characterization of them as deviants is as ludicrous calling Bush a Nazi (which is is NOT).

You are like the people in the 1500′s who were so threatened by Gallileo’s discovery that the earth is not the center of the universe that they wanted to burn him at the stake.

      Very sad…
