Ron Paul Blasts Dick Cheney Over Obama Comments

January 13, 2010 by

Ron Paul blasts Dick Cheney over Obama commentsSince President Obama’s inauguration, the man who previously occupied the vice presidential mansion has not tired of criticizing the current commander-in-chief’s foreign policy moves, but he appears to be coming under increasing fire from those who are considered to be his closer ideological allies.

Dick Cheney has gone on record in the past few months saying the administration’s polices—especially the desire to scale down the U.S. involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq, and setting a public timetable to do so—are endangering America’s national security.

However, in a recent appearance on CNN, Rep. Ron Paul (R – Texas), a prominent libertarian, said Cheney’s eight-year tenure caused "a lot of trouble" for America.

"He perpetuated a war in Iraq that was unnecessary and wrong-headed," Paul told the news network, adding "14 or 15 of the terrorists came from Saudi Arabia. We didn’t attack Saudi Arabia, [instead] we attacked Iraq."

"I would say it would be best he not be so critical right now," the Texas congressman concluded.

Paul has long argued that the U.S. involvement overseas stimulates much of the anger encountered in places like the Middle East, and fuels many extremists’ willingness to sacrifice their own lives to fight America.

Foolish, foolish, foolish people. While everyone is debating it is a war and arguing over ideologies, the Kenyan born person that the people of this country elected as our president is destroying our country from within and using us to do it. Wake up people. Foolish, foolish people.

    • Arkham Grundy

Obama was born in Hawaii like millions of others. Would you question that if he was white?

      • libertytrain

Excuse me, but he’s as much white as he is black so enough with these ridiculous questions trying to create racism where it doesn’t exist.

      • JJS

        Good reply.

      • Kurt F

Like a racist stops attacking if someone isn’t really really dark. LOL

    • J C

If he was born in Hawaii…why all the controversy? Because he wasn’t that’s why. He did not hold a US passport when he was flying all over the place in his 20′s…(proud American that he is and all) Why not?

  • cerebus23

Cheney is not a war criminal, iraq violated the cease fire that was signed after the first war by shooting at our planes constantly in the no fly zones under clinton. we might not have declared official “war” but the united states had every right to go back in when iraq broke the cease fire agreement and tried like hell to down our planes.

Why is saddam hussein held in such glowing reguard by the left exactly? He was a thug and a brutal oppressor. He had rape rooms for women, he terrorized his own people. you were imprisoned, tortured or outright killed if you showed even a hint of opposing him, or you were unlucky enough to annoy one of his sons.

DO you know why the no fly zones were created? because after the first iraq war we left the kurds and others that rose up against saddam out to dry after they rose up encouraged by bush senor’s words thinking we were going to dispose saddam then.

They were getting butchered and we put the band aid on it to try and give them some protection. after our withdrawing troops had to watch helplessly and could do nothing as saddam cracked down on those that tried to rise up against him.

Just about every intelliegence agency in the world thought saddam had wmds. It was not chaney sitting in a closet somewhere making this stuff up.

Another fact about wmds particularly chemical wmds that saddam specialized in is they are not that hard to make and can be made quickly and easily if you have the know how and saddams scientists had the know how.

While saddam was bribing counties in the UN with oil and kickbacks trying to get the sanctions lifted. He would have been making new chemical weapons the second the sanctions were gone. and some of the countries on his payroll were pushing to get them lifted rather forcefully.

SO can we get off the bush lied cheney lied they are war criminals bull? people that keep insisting that are ignoring a whole ton of facts and common sense. While they did a number of stupid things and skirted declaring official war there are a good many things to criticize about the duo but this other crap is just so tired and brain dead.

Mr paul is an isolationist i respect the guy but i disagree with him greatly on his isolation views. We tried isolationist policies and got bombed by japan for our efforts. We allowed europe to slip into chaos, we sat on the sidelines while evil grew.

While our army is not the world’s police force and should not be used as such and we do need better defined and more selective use for our forces, especially in light of our country of continuinly cutting their numbers and funding. We should not bring them all home and let the world rot.

    • JJS

I’ve read your posts for the last couple weeks. Some I would call good and others bad. This is the worst of your bad ones and very little makes any sense. I’ll elaborate point by point:

      1. Cheney most definitely is a war criminal and so is Bush. In a straightforward and relatively non-legalistic manner, Michael Haas, Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Hawaii, wrote the book GEORGE W. BUSH, WAR CRIMINAL?: THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION’S LIABILITY FOR 269 WAR CRIMES, in which he systematically goes through the Geneva Conventions and all the other relevant instruments of the laws of war, quoting the relevant passages of the various treaties and then immediately following up with a brief description of how the Bush administration violated that particular provision. Read it.

      2. Saddam is not held in glowing regard by anyone that I know of either from the left, right or middle. That may be your perception, but it would be hard for you to find a single American who holds him in glowing regard or agrees with your assertion that those on the left do. We had no business continuing the war against Iraq after it was found that they had no WMD. It isn’t the concern of any nation how another nation’s leaders treat their populace. If the Iraqis didn’t like Saddam’s treatment, it was up to them to revolt against him like the Revolutionists did against England when they tired of England’s mistreatment.

      3. Iraq’s violating the ‘no-fly zone’ is a phony excuse for the waging the war in Iraq. Bush first used the reason that Iraq had WMD. When there were no WMD found, he then changed his mission to eliminate the dictator, Saddam. After Saddam was executed, his reason was what? Why did we stay there after Bush declared, “Mission accomplished” on May 1, 2003? Oil? To enrich Haliburton? To divert attention of the American public while his banker friends stole from us? You seem to have all the other answers. Why, why why?

      4. How do you know what foreign intelligent agencies knew and didn’t know? Do you think the CIA, SVR and DISIP meet and exchange notes?

      5. Lots of American, British, Canadian and scientists from other countries know how to make chemical weapons. Should we execute them? Does it make sense to wage war and kill tens of thousands because Saddam and his scientists knew how to manufacture chemical weapons?

      6. Where did you get the information that Saddam was going to produce chemical weapons when the sanctions were lifted? Why did he have to wait until then?

      7. There is no defense for Bush and Cheney. Rumsfeld either. You are right that they did a number of stupid things – among them lying and torturing. They are criminals just like the Viet Cong who imprisoned and tortured John McCain and the American POW in the 60s and 70s.

      8. Ron Paul is not an isolationist. He adopted the Republican Liberty Caucus Position Statement which states, “The US government should inhibit neither the exportation of US goods and services worldwide, nor the importation of goods and services.” In an interview with Wolf Blitzer during the presidential campaign he said, “Isolationism isn’t what I advocate. I advocate non-intervention, not getting involved in the internal affairs of other nations, and not pretending a country like Iraq is equivalent to Nazi Germany. Iraq had no army, no navy, had no weapons of mass destruction, had nothing to do with 9/11, so the comparison makes no sense.”

      9. Your statement, “Our army is not the world’s police force and should not be used as such,” says it all. No further comment is needed.

      • Joe H.

        JJS,
In your first paragraph you state the flaw in your whole post! All that Haas stated was his opinion!!! Nothing else. what matters is the SC and their opinion and all others are like behinds in that everyone has one!!!

      • eyeswideopen

JJS, thank goodness for your reply. Well stated.

    • DaveH

Do you think, Cerebus, that we saved Europe in World War II? It was due to our negligence that many of the countries that had been occupied by Germany were turned over to the Soviet Union for occupation for many decades after the war. What a saving.

      • Joe H.

        DaveH,
Actually the worst part of that fact is that Patton offered to go in with his tanks, kick the russians behind and make it look like they started it! I believe to this day he could have done it, too! The pres and the Brass turned him down!!!

  • Robert

Would anone mind if the new directive given to our brave soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanstan was: ” Shoot to kill if you are threatened, we’ll ask them later if they are jihadists.”?

    • Joe H.

      Robert,
      NOT IN THE LEAST!!!

  • Roy Hitchcock

THIS IS NOT AMERICA’S WAR. THIS IS BUSH’S WAR. WE NEVER SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO THIS WAR. WE CAN BE THERE THE NEXT 100 YEARS AND IT STILL WILL BE THE SAME. THESE PEOPLE HAVE LIVED THIS WAT SINCE THE BEGINNING OF TIME AND WERE NOT GOING TO CHANGE THEM. IT’S TIME WE BRING OUR TROOPS HOME FROM MANY OF THESE COUNTRIES AND QUIT GIVING MONEY OUT TO NATIONS THAT DON;T SUPPORT US. THERE IS SO MUCH GRAFT IT’S TERRIBLE. BRING OUR TROOPS HOME AND HAVE THEM GET RID OF ALL THE ILLEGALS IN OUR NATION.

    • http://PERSONALLIBERTYDIGEST USNDOC

AS A VETERAN FROM THE KOREAN WAR ERA I MUST AGREE WITH ROY HITCHCOCK. WHILE I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE ENTIRE ARAB MIDDLE EAST AREA NUKED I ALSO REALIZE THAT THAT IS NOT THE WAY TO GO. THEY SAY THAT THE TALIBUMS AND THE AL QUACKSERS ETC ARE HIDING IN MOUNTAINOUS AREAS THAT ARE TOO DIFFICULT TO ATTACK WITH GROUND FORCES. THAT IS PROBABLY VERY TRUE BUT THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER WAY AND ONE WHICH WILL SPARE MANY GROUND FORCE LIVES. FOR YOU VETERANS OF WW11 AND KOREA AND VIETNAM WHO HAVE SEEN THE EFFECTS OF NAPALM BOMBING CAN YOU THINK OF A BETTER WAY? FLOOD THOSE MOUNTAINS WITH NAPALM AND RID THE WORLD OF A MAJOR PORTION OF LIVING SCUM. THEN GO BACK AND SPRAY THE SAME AREA WITH PIGS BLOOD. I BELIEVE THESE SO-CALLED WARRIORS OF PEACE MAY DECIDE TO STAY IN THEIR OWN BACKYARDS. WHAT HAVE WE GOT TO LOSE?

      • Joe H.

        USNDOC,
After seeing what napalm and Foo gas can do in RVN, it sounds good to me!!! Liked the addition of pigs blood too!

    • JJS

I’ll go for getting rid of the illegals.

    • Norm

      Roy Hitchcock
What’s really sad is we can’t afford these wars. We borrow the money and give the bill to our kids and grandkids. Meantime people like Cheney get rich contracting services to the military.

  • James Corbin

We are at war but it’s with people that want to die, doesn’t wear a uniform and want to kill americans. They, themselves call it a holy war!

  • Kevin

You retards that believe that a truck of fertilizer destroyed a 5 story concrete federal building are insane. Try to destroy anything with fertilizer and see for urselves instead of just believing what the lying federal government tells u. I bet you believe all the lies at Waco also, how sad. Everyone thinks they are so smart and can’t even see the elephant in the room.

    • JJS

You tell us the truth, Kevin. You make it sound like you know it all. Please don’t keep the rest of us in the dark. Educate us please!

      • Earlw

Kevin, your arrogance begs a comment! This issue was put to bed a long time ago by a former FBI Bigwig by the name of Ted Gunderson and a general Ben Partin, both of which have extensive knowledge of explosives, never mind all those farmers who used ANFO to blow out stumps. ANFO is a “low brissance” explosive, meaning slow-burning and with a soft shock wave. as opposed to PETN and other very high explosives, which have a fast burn and tremendous shock value, made more powerful when used as a shaped charge. I have had the pleasure of meeting with CDI, Controlled Demolitions Inc., which is the Louseux (sp?) Brothers Demolition co. I got a first hand tour of an old hotel which they were taking down as well as an education on explosives, so I ain’t talkin’ out my ass. Please be more informed when making statemnts like the above…….

      • Earlw

Excuse me I meant to direct this to JJS, Sorry

      • Joe H.

        Earlw,
I have a little knowledge of a certain inventive people Called the NVA who used all kinds of things for explosives and the modern day explosives aren’t the only tough kid on the block!!! As was said earlier you don’t have to melt or explode through steel for it to collapse!!! All you have to do is heat it up to a high enough temp to start rearranging the carbon structures in the steel for it to weaken and ultimately collapse. YOU should be more careful before makeing the statements you make!!!!

      • cr747

        Joe H,
I heard that airplane bomber the other day lit the wrong fuse in his drawers. He lit the short fuse!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That explains how he got burned!!!!!!!!!!!1

      • Joe H.

        cr747,
i said the other day that the guy got punished all to hell and back and he still has to go to court!!! OUCH!!!!

    • Joe H.

      Kevin,
Sorry dude but you need a tour in a war zone to see how many things can be made into explosives and powerful ones at that!!!! If you have already been in one, you should have paid better attention!!!!

    • DaveH

      Kevin,
I worked for a cement company 30 years ago that used fertilizer and fuel oil to blast lime rock formations. It is real.

    • coal miner

      Kevin,

The local farmers, including the farm I live on used nitrogen based fertilizer to blow up tree stumps.

      • cr747

coal miner, by accident did you get to close, and get hit in the head??????????

  • Bob Jones

I’m having a difficult time trying to figure out why Obama & his crew can critize Bush & Cheney every day, (and the press eats it up) but, (niether) Bush, or, Cheney can defend themselves.

    • David Long

I’m trying to figure out how we can support and find credible,on matters of our safety, the guard who was asleep on duty when 9/11 hit. The warnings were clear.

What would Barry Goldwater say about the Bush/Cheney performance in and out of office?

    • Norm

      Bob Jones
Where have you been? Cheney has been attacking the president (in time of war by his own definition) constantly. It’s been on every tv network from fox to msnbc.

      • Dale

Most of the attacks were before the pres figured out he was at war . . . it took him a year to say that . . . just the other day I believe. the scary part is . . . this guy is running the country.

      • Norm

        Dale
And doing it a lot better than Bush, in spite of the Bush legacy.
One one good thing Bush did is he made Carter the second worse president.

      • Joe H.

        Norm,
for once I agree with you! Bush did make it possible for Carter to become the second worst pres!!! By making it easier for O-man to be elected!!!! O-man has GOT to be the WORST president we EVER had!!! And he’s only been in a year! I shudder to think what he’s going to be like in another two or three!!!

    • JJS

It’s really hard to defend ignorance and incompetence.

  • http://www.folkplace.com Gustav

It seems, after reading these blogs, that very few really understand what is going on…You have to know that all of these politicians are under the control of the Bilderbergers/CFR/Jesuits/TL/MasonicOrder…
You need to understand that Dictator Obama and Cheney are both CFR members…No different than the fact that Republican George Bush and Dem-Head John Kerry are both “Skull & Bones” members and all of these secret organizations are behind the “One World Government” take over of the entire world…They all take their orders from the “Secret Organizations” above mentioned… If Ron Paul got anywhere close to becoming president he would exact the same fate as John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert…as they took action against these secret organizations… But remember this: Have you ever heard Ron Paul, as well as the Rush Limbaugh’s, Hannity’s, Galliger’s mention these “One Worlders”? Of course not!!! They are terrified to bring out the truth of what is really happening… The massive spending the influx of illegals, of which many are now Muslim, is all by the design of the “One Worlders… the desire for more and more people to be out of work…more taxing during a recession…Wars to continue to create debt… Designed to create a 3rd world country and world so that there will be no opposition…So keep on with your, “Republican against Dem-Heads”… “Cheney against Ron Paul” and “Ron Paul against the world,” and you will see things continue to deteriorate towards a third world Country then a World with all freedoms gone everywhere… except for the very elites who will control the entire World…

    • JJS

If this stuff is so secret, how do you know about it? Why don’t you tell us everything?

    • Michael J.

Gustav, I too am aware of the secret society of Republicans and Democrats who publically voice opposing vitriolic rhetoric, then sit side by side in annual Bilderberg meetings to receive and fufill the wishes of their shadowy masters. It all starts to make sense when you become aware of their true agenda.
Why wouldn’t you build a border barrier to protect the sanctity and sovereignty of a nation unless you were privy to the fact that the creation of the North American Union which is to include Mexico, Canada and The United States was eminant. Every other event that seems to make no sense becomes clear and focused once you become aware of the secret agenda.

      • JJS

If this stuff is so secret, how do you know about it? Why don’t you tell us everything?

      • DaveH

        JJS,
The way I see it, I don’t really care what the Shadow Men are doing. They couldn’t get away with it if we could just get the citizens to wake up and get back to the concepts of our Founders. That is, Individual Freedom, Individual Responsibility, and Limited Government. Big Government is the Problem, not the Solution.

      • JJS

You and many other people take that phrase that was muttered by Reagan out of context. What he said was, “In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.”

You would have been much more correct to say, “Big government is the problem in some cases, and the solution in others.” We need government to make and enforce laws, rules and regulations in many areas. For example, government has to make discrimination of all kinds illegal to keep minority groups (race, age, religion, etc) from being shown prejudice. Government also has to regulate the financial institutions to protect its citizens from the Bernie Madoffs. I don’t believe that you would want to live in a society where big government didn’t lay down ground rules.

      • DaveH

Sorry JJS, I completely disagree. Discrimination legislation is one of the many areas in which the Government has no business. And it doesn’t work anyway. When companies are faced with potential litigation from an employee, they do everything they can to avoid hiring that class of people. I have seen it in action. And why wouldn’t they? If the worker turned out to be a slug, who would you wish you had hired – the protected class who may envelop you in costly litigation or the non-protected class?
In a free market subject to competition (which we don’t have) the companies who hire the best workers, regardless of race or gender, are the ones who are going to win in the marketplace. The others who practice biased hiring practices are going to lose.

Fraud is occurring more than ever before in my lifetime and that is in the face of constantly growing Government regulations. As Government Grows, Corruption Flows. OK, JJS, tell me where that quote comes from, lol.

      • eyeswideopen

JJS, I agree with you. This country is in such a mess, as the corporations are running it with the monies paid to politicians to promote their own special interests. In the Medicare Advantage plan, IBM gets 400million to help their retired employees get meds. Why should the Federal Government (taxpayers) pay a subsidy to IBM for their employees? If you saw all the subsidies that are paid to companies like Halliburton, Dow Chemical, Boeing, Grumman, Lockheed-Martin, it would make you cry. We need to cut all subsidies to corporations. At the same time, we need to stop them from being able to purchase our politicians with contributions.

    • Joe H.

Oh, cripe, not another Mason theorist!!! you guys are crawling out of the wood work!!!! You guys are so brainless it isn’t funny!!! You been reading Kevin Trudeau again??? You don’t think it’s a little strange that a man that claims to be 70 years old looks to be all of 35? You ARE gullible!!!

    • BigIron

At last someone who has opened their eyes and can see that it’s not about the Dems and Reps, or even terrorists. Oh, that it were only the Dems and Reps and terrorists we have to defeat. Get scared, get active; time is short! The war is on, currently a mostly peaceful war, but war non-the-less. Fight now and pray that it is not necessary to escalate to the next level but remember the Boy Scout motto. The NWO must be defeated and given no quarter.

    • coal miner

      Gustav,

Go to Investment Forecast blog,it was the last blog I was on.

    • Claire

Why the Mason crap again?? My husband is a 32nd Degree Mason. He does not worship Lucifer. And he says anyone that thinks that is nuts! More of the same old lies. Egad. I cannot believe what I am reading. Do people believe everything the media throws at them? Sure, where there’s smoke sometimes there is fire. But good grief. Can’t we make up our own minds about the matters at hand? In a sense, we are all sheeples.

      • Earlw

        Claire,
There is another, more sinister degree above the 32nd which can only be entered by participation in the “raising ceremony”. The 33rd degree is not an official degree, but it exists nonetheless. Look for a book, if you can find it, titled “Apollyon Rising 2012″. The author is very well versed in the Masonic lodges. The aforementioned happens to be part of the **York Rite** branch of freemasonry. Just because your husband is a 32nd degree doesn’t prove anything. The more exotic teaching aren’t revealed to most except for chosen Adepts….

      • Claire

Oh, for Gosh sakes. You can bet I will have my husband check this out.

      • Joe H.

        Claire,
And if you had said your husband was a 33rd degree Mason he would have said the secret level is 34 and so on!!! It’s all so much Bull

      • Joe H.

        Earlw,
        Bull!!!!!

      • Claire

Joe H—My husband says the same—BS!!!!!

      • Joe H.

        Claire,
the problem is that the Masons want people that are “square” and on the “level” and these who spout the conspiracy crap don’t qualify!!!!

      • Claire

Joe H–Well, the Masons got a good one when they got my husband. He is a Mason and proud of it. He is on the level, he believes in God, he is honest, he does not lie, cheat etc. He is an extremely fairminded and trustworthy person. He does not go around looking for trouble, but if there is trouble, he does not back off. He stands for what he believes in and doesn’t go off the deep end about things. He keeps me in line, he is my “rock.” He treats others like he would want to be treated. After 50 years I still think highly of him. In fact, he is probably a better person than I am. He is retired, and I am still working by choice. It costs to show dogs! Although he has a lot of health issues, he is busy with our dogs, he golfs, goes to his Mason meetings, and plays cards with his friends. Egad, I really am rambling. But he has given me a good life, I could not ask for more.

      • cr747

Claire, from the comments I have read of yours, I can tell you have a good husband, and you deserve it. Myself, I to have a beautiful wife. We have been married 29 years. She works because she desires to be busy. She is a Certified Professional Coder for a major hospital. She beat breast cancer in 1993-4, at the age of 38. She has been cancer free since then. “God Bless all people who has to go through this.”
I can tell by some of your comments that you and your husband where put together by God. What a blessing I know it is for you and him and the good life you have together.
Me being away from home as much as I am, my wife prefers to work, so if that is what she wants then I back her. We have 2 children, boy and a girl, and three wonderful grand children. A boy 16, a girl 11, our daughters. Then we have a 2 year old grandson with our son. Our kids all of them are great, and have never been in trouble. I am so proud of them.
I don’t get to see them as often as I would like, but I do talk to them all each night by phone or e-mail.
Claire, like you I could ramble all night long, but will close for now, may God Add His Riches Blessings To You And Your Husband!!!!!!!!!

  • Dafada3

Of course Cheney is against pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan. He’s holding billions worth of stock and options from his days at Halliburton. So long as the wars rage, Halliburton continues to profit and his personal stock holdings continue to be enriched. All his talk is just a desperate man trying to protect his nest egg.

    • RadicalRepublican

      YUP!
This is also why the entire war was CRIMINAL

      • Dale

You liked the job Sadim was doing then . . .

      • JJS

        Who is Sadim?

      • http://RonPaulblastsDickCheney Duffy

What everyone has forgotten, is the wrong information was given to president Bush by the one who is making a fortune in this country to-day, namely Tony Blair ex prime minister of Britain,if anyone is to blame for this unholy war, it is he. Ron Paul should know that.

      • J C

Duffy, that’s ridiculous. Tony Blair is a rat for sure. But to say he can be blamed for the conduct of the White House is a complete cop out. Taking direction from other nations would more or less make us the village idiot, wouldn’t it?

    • Joe H.

      Dafada3,
there’s just one tiny little hole in your thinking process!!! The oil wells aren’t putting any where near enough to make a good profit and what is being put out is being kept by IRAQ!!!!!

  • http://gmail High Plains Pat

If some of the comments about being issolationist nation we have more oil than any diaper headed group of middle eastern nations, There is a pool of oil in western NS and SD eastern MT and Wyo. that make Saudia Arabia look like a puddle, but greenes, tree huggers and dems make parks and want to spend us into a third world. I know Dick Cheny tried to do more exploration in the interior of the Us and in Alaska, but I don’t hear Ron Paul say much except to work with flack dems to legalize pot so everyone loses motavation. The rag heads try to say Muslim relegion is a peaceful relegion that gain notorioty being lead by a peadofifal Mohamoad. The only way to defeat those misguided idoits is send them to hell in a pig hide basket. If we drilled for oil and put it on the market, the USA would be able to pay off its debts and send the sand monkeys back assualting camels and goats

    • RadicalRepublican

First of all, try getting an education before you go on rants about foreign policy. Your racist rhetoric is the reason America lost so much credibility over the last 9yrs.

How about losing our dependency on OIL, PERIOD. There are so many other more efficient and abundant sources of energy, that also happen to be cleaner… There are many ways to escape our dependence on Middle Eastern oil, not just tearing apart our land so we can burn more oil until our country is as smog-ridden as China… GEEZ!

      • Dale

A very small percentage of US oil comes from the ME . . . go check it out . . .

      • DaveL

Canada is starting to talk to China about oil exports. You better hope the Chinese leave some Canadian oil for the United States.

    • JJS

I’ve smoked pot for over 50 years, and I am still motivated. Maybe you should try it.

      • DaveH

Whether it motivates or not really isn’t the issue. The issue is – does the government have any business protecting us from ourselves? And have the Drug Wars done any good? They have enriched the worst segment of society (the Drug Lords) just as the Mafia was enriched by Prohibition. And now Mexico is in a state of seige as a result of those misguided drug wars. We could end the crime in a heartbeat by legalizing drugs. The drug prices would plummet, our freedoms would increase, and contrary to peoples’ fears the drug usage would probably decrease because the romance of doing drugs (the illegality) would be removed. Please read this article with an open mind and maybe learn a point of view which you haven’t previously encountered:

We have found a common ground.

      • American Citizen

Not to mention the taxes the governments could collect. My one fear would be the potheads driving under the influence. It’s bad enough with the current alcohol related DUI’s.

      • JJS

I’ll bet that I can drive better high than you can straight.

      • Joe H.

        JJS,
I’ll take that bet 40 years and not even a parking ticket, over 3 million miles and counting!!

      • cr747

JJS we can tell you smoked pot. You have fried your brain!!!!!!!!!!

  • RadicalRepublican

I admire Ron Paul so much for this kind of TRUTH that he speaks!

9/11 was NOT A CALL TO ARMS, because it was not a COUNTRY ATTACKING US
However, this is how it has been viewed by both Bush and now unfortunately Obama… the “War on Terrorism” is a War on ideology, not very different than the Cold War. And just like the Cold War it will NOT be won by purely military means, thankfully the new Administration at least partially understands this.

CHENEY IS A WAR-CRIMINAL… and Obama is doing America a disservice by allowing this menace to run free with no trial, and now it seems as though he is prepping for some kind of ultra-conservative campaign. I just hope and pray that this nation will never allow ourselves to turn our backs on Progress.

    • Dale

You are a ripe fruit-cake . . . your revisionist history is right off the Chris Mathews show . . . lol
Terrorists trained in Afganistan . . . fact!!
Sadim funded and aided terrorists around the world . . . fact!!!
Hillery, Bill, AlBore, Albright, Kerry all said in 1999 “Saddam had WMD and was a threat to the world” . . .fact!!!
Why do you think the natives are revolting today in Iran . . . cause they see their neighbors enjoying fredoms they do not have . . . thanks to bush and the congress for voting to take down a violent dictator.

      • Curtis

Dale your argument is weak. In 1999 the Clinton group may have “thought” there were WMDs in Iraq, but that’s why UN weapons inspectors were sent to Iraq. Those weapons inspectors found nothing. They still hadn’t found anything when Bush and Cheney yanked them out of the country. There were no WMDs… FACT!!!
The natives are revolting in Iraq today because they can. Under Hussein there was no tribal in fighting. Hussein was a brutal dictator, but Iraqis enjoyed higher standards of living, better levels of education, better access to quality healthcare.
Bush and Cheney took down a brutal dictator? Who the he!! gave Bush and Cheney the rights to remove dictators around the world? You guys are all bent out of shape about Cuba, why not remove Castro? It’s close to home, you already have troops in Cuba and he is a “brutal dictator.” FACT!!!
Why didn’t Bush & Cheney go after the jerk in North Korea? He was one of Bush’s “Axis of Evil”. He is a brutal dictator and the whole world knows he’s developing long range missiles and nuclear weapons… THERE’S YOUR WMDs!! FACT!!!
Why invade Iraq but not any other dictatorship on the planet?? OIL!!!
Bush is a moron, but Cheney is just self-serving and downright evil.

      • Joe H.

I know the Khurds just sucked on tail pipes right?!?!?! Go back to the books!!!!

      • coal miner

        Curtis,

You fail to mention Red China. They murder from 40 TO 100 million people, yet we buy from these people. You are 100% percen correct about Hussien,He had the highest standard of living in the middle east, including Isreal.I like ask these morons how Hussien and his two sons could rape and murder 3000 women.Like I said,Lenin was right.Get ready for the rope.

      • Joe H.

        Coal”scab”minor,
The same way that Hitler could murder so many Jews and other non-Germans!!! Or do you not believe that happened either??? That would put you on the same footing as Iran’s Imadinnerjacket!!!!

      • eyeswideopen

Joe H, what did Coal Miner say that made you put “scab” in his name? You are really something else. Oh, that’s right he worked in the mines for a living and you have been given the right to demean him. Who gave you that right? Your true personal bias is coming thru. You must think he belonged to a Union right? So, therefore, he deserves your anger and belittling language. So Christian!!

      • J C

Saddam and Bin laden hated each other, they had zero cooperation between them. Fact!

    • JJS

I love it! Keep the faith and lets’ get Ron Paul elected president and turn our country back in the right direction.

  • Chris Miller

Ron Paul has been in Congress for nigh onto 2 decades. Where is his outline on his foreign policy. Islam is a militant religion and it is all of Islam not just the jihadists.Take a look at what the Muslims did to India. They do not like us or the fact that we are a Judeo-Christian nation. Keep in mind that it was these folks who really started the Crusades in their attempt to take over the Holy Land.
I would recommned that he and his supporters obtain Michael Ledeen’s work, “The War Against the Terror Masters” and Bill Gertz’s “The Failure Factory.” In addition to that I would suggest he reads Washington’s foreign policy keeping in mind that it was Jefferson not Washington who talked of entangling alliances. Washington had strength at home as the base of his policy

    • RadicalRepublican

It is clear that Ron Paul is a true, classic American Isolationist. This is where I have to disagree with him, because America has a huge role to play in International Relations and I’m sure that if he were to be President it would be a huge step backwards on the world stage.
Nevertheless, he speaks Truth domestically and is a very powerful and necessary voice of criticism for BOTH sides

      • JD

Calling Ron Paul an “isolationist” makes about as much sense as labeling your best neighbor a “hermit” because he doesn’t do donuts on your lawn or throw bricks through your windows. He is a non interventionist, not an isolationist, big difference. He thinks we should trade and have commerce with countries, not impose our values and what we believe is a good form of government on them. Some countries don’t want democracies and that is their choice, not ours to make.

      • RadicalRepublican

True enough, but many classic American isolationists still promoted trade with other countries. The point is that he appears to have no sense of global leadership or promotion of American ideals of equality and democracy.

      • JD

“True enough, but many classic American isolationists still promoted trade with other countries.”

Then they are not an isolationist. I wish I had a dime for every time someone called Ron Paul an isolationist and they really don’t understand the true definition of an isolationist.

        “i·so·la·tion·ism (ī’sə-lā’shə-nĭz’əm)
        n. A national policy of abstaining from political or economic relations with other countries.”

      • DaveH

Riddle me this Radical – How would you feel if the Mexican Army was in the US keeping the peace for Obama? Would you love Mexico?
How then, do you expect our Military escapades to result in peace and admiration for the US from those occupied countries?

      • Tinwarble

        DaveH,

You make a good point, however, do you have an answer as to how you think WWII might have been if we had a presence in Europe and been able to stop Hitler after he invaded Poland. Instead of waiting until nearly 5 yrs to get into the fight and letting Hitler invade most of Europe.

      • DaveH

        Tin,
What I do know is after the US heros defeated Hitler, we turned Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Albania over to Soviet control. Yep, we are the great Liberators.

      • Tinwarble

        DaveH,

And as I said before, Russia was an ally. Perhaps we should have just turned on the Soviet Union and ran them back home, well, I could have gotten on with that plan. But to your point, do we just overlook the rest of Europe that was liberated, or does it not matter because of the countries taken over by the Soviet Union. And more to my point, would we have even had to worry about the Soviet’s if we had acted sooner. Maybe we could have even avoided that whole “Cold War” thing if we had acted before Hitler turned to invade Russia. Also, as a Vet, I would ask you to watch how you use the statement “the Great Liberators”, it would come across to some as being disparaging in the memory of those who gave their lives for freedom.

      • DaveH

The soldiers are just pawns in the game. I bear no animosity for them. And it is a game, with human lives at stake.

      • Tinwarble

        DaveH,

But to call us pawns gives us no credit, all it does is say that we are not smart enough to know when we are being used. As, and I don’t mean this any way other than it is what I feel to be fact, you apparently haven’t been in the military I would not expect you to understand. Soldiers aren’t just mindless drones following any order given us, we are also bound by oath, not to follow any unlawful order. We are the boots on the ground, we see the disparage caused by war as we know the outcome once the war is over. That is why, if you were to ask, we are glad to be apart of fighting for those that can’t fight for themselves. And I would caution you again about how you frame soldiers, because you may need to call upon us one day to defend this country and our Constitution, and if we are nothing more than mindless pawns, unable to do no more than follow the orders of our leaders, then woe be unto you.

      • Earlw

Maybe we should lead by EXAMPLE?????

      • Joe H.

        DaveH,
I would have to say just by his longevity you should not support Ron Paul!! Not trying to mock you just going by what you say!

      • DaveH

        Joe,
When have I ever said anything about anybody’s longevity? I do think Ron is too old now to stand up to the rigors of fighting Liberals.

      • Joe H.

        DaveH,
I could have sworn you were talking earlier of term limits for politicians!!!

    • JJS

The world has changed a bit since Washington and Jefferson have said anything. What they said in the horse and buggy days doesn’t necessarily apply in the jet age.

      • DaveH

        JJS,
Decades ago, the Wall Street Journal had an article which stated that there was just too much advancement in technology for freedom to exist in the modern world. Then at the bottom, there was a date for the origination of the article. It was written in the mid 1700s.

      • JJS

Are trying to say that the world hasn’t changed since the 18th century? I was born in the 20th century, and I have seen lots of change in my life. Some examples:

        1. advancing from the first transatlantic airline passenger service in 1939 to going to the moon and the space shuttle.
        2. going from computers that used to fill climate controlled rooms to more powerful ones that fit in the palm of our hands.
        3. from listening to the radio to watching television.

      • DaveH

Definitely not, JJS. What I am saying is that technological advancement is no excuse for the denial of Liberty.

      • J C

We’re dealing with ethics and principles of American Liberty. It applies just fine in a horse drawn buggy or first class seating on a 767. The only thing different? The government itself is corrupt beyond recognition as anything remotely based on American values.

    • DaveH

      Chris,
You give our Government way too much credit. What problems have we solved with our military escapades? Have we conquered Radical Islam?

  • http://N/A reeves

Dick Cheney has many good points, not the least his stance on socialism and the leftist democrat party. But he is way off base on the wholly unconstitutional “wars” in Iraq and Afghanistan. We are stuck in another Vietnam “war” that can’t be won by our side. The day we leave those anti-American countries, they will introduce another Saddam or religious dictator that will simply take up where the others left off prior to our invasions. The war on terrorism can’t be successfully fought using WWII-style ground troops in the first place. We need to go underground and fight the enemy without reservation, in their homes and Mosques, where they hide. And we need to get realistic here at home with our borders and our security measures. We have no business in these other countries that do not pose a threat to our sovereignty or our safety. Instead we need to try preventing terrorists from attacking us from within. Let Israel take care of their own country. We are not their military arm. Ron Paul is correct on the economy and the faux “wars” in the Mideast, but he is way off base himself on our borders and his unrealistic Libertarian viewpoints.

    • JJS

And you, Reeves, are way off base on your views of both Dick Cheney, who hasn’t ever had any good points and wouldn’t know a good point when he heard one, and Ron Paul, who is absolutely right about protecting our borders. It is Ron Paul who said, “A nation without borders is no nation at all.” How can you say that is way off base? You are just as wrong about his Libertarian views, too.

    • DaveH

What is wrong with Individual Liberty, Individual Responsibility, and Limited Government?
Do you have a problem with voluntary contracts as opposed to those forced on us by the Government?
Or do you just not know what Libertarians really stand for?
      http://libertarianparty.org/platform

    • Joe H.

      reeves,
I pray that this war never becomes another Viet Nam and so should you!! There have been no where near as many U.S. deaths from it and I hope there won’t be!! Don’t be so quick to lable something you know nothing about!!!

      • Harold Olsen

The high number of casualties in Vietnam was mainly due to Robert MacNamera lying to President Johnson. Instead of telling LBJ what he needed to hear he told LBJ what he though he want to hear. MacNamera told LBJ that the war was going just fine and when LBJ decided to go there and see for himself, MacNamera tried to dissuade him. MacNamera wrote a book about Vietnam and then went on various shows to promote it and proudly bragged about the fact that he lied to LBJ and even admitted that because of that more people died than would have otherwise, and he was proud of THAT. The only time I ever said I was glad that someone was dead was when MacNamera died. I hope he’s burning in hell. And, by the way, I served in Vietnam.

      • Joe H.

        Harold Olsen,
There was quite a lot of lying by Westmoreland, too!! Cutting enemy troop strengths in half so it would look better than it was! The only problem was it got a lot of good men killed! I was there, too 18 months. 114th asault helicopter company, RED KNIGHTS!!!

      • cr747

Joe H don’t know if I have told you or not, thanks for serving. Vietnam was a hell hole!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Keith

Can we at least agree that we are in an armed conflict with a determined foe? Nobody wins wars on defense, you only stay in the game longer. In today’s world, where increasing technology and interdependence puts more and more destructive potential in the hands of smaller and smaller groups, letting them take the initiative will eventually be disastrous.

That said, we need to be as intelligent as possible in HOW we take the fight to the enemy. One way that has received some attention is to (AFTER DECLARING IT WELL BEFOREHAND) use methods to terminate known terrorists and terrorist leaders that preclude their going to paradise- like drowning them in pig blood.

  • Earl, QUEENS, NY

Nearly a year after the BHO obamanation began, we still hear the ‘Blame Bush/Cheney’ drivel from democraps. GET REAL!! The fact is – it was Bush/Cheney who kept us safe after 9/11, not the politically correct BS we now see with the Democraps in power!! We also had a far better economy and lower unemployment 4 years ago, before the Democraps won back Congress. As for Cheney, given his age and health, it’s doubtful he’ll run for office again. Thus his motives are not political, but just a concern for our country….Furthermore, did Cheney ever say “Stand up Chuck, let them see you….” to a guy in a wheelchair? Did Cheney ever say it’s our patriotic duty to pay more taxes, or that we have to spend more money to avoid bankruptcy? In plain language, who was the better VP – Cheney, or the idiot who succeeded him?? IMO, ‘Joker’ Biden alone is enough reason to say that some 63,000,000 voters were ignorant fools on 11/4/08!!

    • BigIron

Then isn’t it obvious that BOTH parties are the problem? And if that is so then they are but puppets of some master puppeteer/s. So “who IS pulling their strings”? … The international bankers, the NWO, the Illuminati, the Tri-lateral-Commission, the Bilderbergers, the Military-Industrial-Complex? … All of the above? Yes! or perhaps those unmentioned and unknown.
Long before our country even existed, the bankers were the power brokers. War is, and always has been, good business for those properly positioned to make “money” on both sides of the conflict and to come out on top no matter what the outcome. They are able to do this by hiding in the shadows and manipulating from a distance.
To these “Puppet Masters”, people are simply a faceless resource to be used by them to generate their ever increasing wealth and power. If they have any loyalty or compassion it is only for those in their very small inner circle/s.
Yes, there is TRUE EVIL in this world. We must root it out and destroy it for if we do not it will truly destroy us. We ARE at war but not with those openly labeled as our enemies. … Our true enemies lie hidden in the shadows where they are never seen and glimpsed only rarely as shadows lurking at the edge of our vision.

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

I see you know all too well!!! The Rothchilds financed Hitler against their own and are very much around today. I have felt all along that Obummer is just a puppet because the man is not that smart. Clever yes. His motto “Lets go the roundhouse mother, they can’t corner us there”! All we can do is our best and hold our representatives feet to the fire, cancel out all laws, go back to the constitution and the Bill of Rights and start all over. IRS to be closed down because collecting taxes is unconstitutional, put in a flat tax that is taxed at the spending level like a sales tax but just to pay for the debt only. If you serve in Congress or as President, it is pro bono. Military stays as is along with some other Govt entities. Schools go back to the states etc. etc. etc.

      • JJS

Obama isn’t smart? He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard, and you say he isn’t smart? Who isn’t smart is Bush. According to his transcript published at his website, http://2004.georgewbush.org/bios/yale-transcript.asp, his college GPA was 2.75, a high C. McCain isn’t very smart either. He didn’t release his transcript, but publicly admitted graduating near the very bottom of his class at the Naval Academy. Enough said on that subject, other than you are wrong, wrong, wrong.

“Cancel out all laws?” Would you like to live in a country where there were no laws prohibiting rape, murder and thievery? That isn’t a very well thought out statement, one that you should retract.

As for your assertion that “collecting taxes is unconstitutional,” read Amendment 16 of the Constitution that you say “go back to.” How can you say “collecting taxes is unconstitutional” in one breath and “put in a flat tax that is taxed at the spending level” in the next?

Sally, go to bed, get some sleep and when you wake up in the morning, read this post again. After you digest the less than half smart crap you wrote, look in the mirror and give yourself hell for being such an ignoramus.

      • cr747

AT LEAST THEY DIDN’T LIE ABOUT THEIR COLLEGE CAREER, AND SHOWED PROOF THAT THEY WHERE BORN IN THE UNITED STATES.
        OBAMA CAN’T DO THAT.

      • Earlw

THE ONLY TAXES THAT ARE CONSTITUTIONAL ARE THOSE APPORTIONED EQUALLY AMONG THE POPULATION!! The sixteenth amendment was never properly ratified,Ohio changed wording in its vote, which negated it’s vote, not that anyone gave a rat’s ass in washington..They passed it anyway, legal or not, and the rest is history. Do your homework!

      • Joe H.

        JJS,
Yeah he’s smart, street smart! Dig into other peoples pockets smart, ignore the constitution he swore to uphold smart. Unfortunately that isn’t the kind of smarts we need right now!!!

      • JJS

        cr747,

Did you ever see Bush’s birth certificate? Clinton’s? Reagan’s? I don’t recall anybody asking them to produce theirs. Obama did show the world the birth certificate issued to him by the State of Hawaii when his birthplace was brought up as an issue. Furthermore, McCain could not have produced one proving the he was born in the United States because he was born in Panama. Get your sh*t together and try to post something that is fact, not your opinion.
        ————————————-
        Earlw,

The 16th Amendment says verbatim, “The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.” That’s all it says – one sentence, thirty words, three commas and a period. What part of that says the tax has to be “apportioned equally among the population” like you claim?

Thousands of tax protestors using the defense that the 16th Amendment “was never properly ratified” have paid millions of dollars in penalties and interest to the IRS when their claim was struck down by the judiciary. Tell them that you know better than the judges, and they will either laugh in your face or cry on your shoulder. In either case, they can testify just how much you are full of sh*t making the “never properly ratified” claim.

Earlw, quit writing your opinions as fact. That a tax has to be “apportioned equally among the population” or that the 16th Amendment “was never properly ratified” aren’t open to opinion because they are facts, and they are the law of the land whether you, me or anybody else likes it or not.
        ————————————-
        Joe H,

Why don’t you take my earlier advice and quit showing your ignorance every time you write something. People who want an intelligent exchange of ideas won’t even bother reading what you write if you continue to constantly spew thoughtless and meaningless crap.

      • cr747

JJS, as a matter of fact I haven’t seen his birth certificate. I was in court in California when this was brought forward. WHAT I SAW WAS A CERTIFICATE OF BIRTH. Now a “certificate of birth” is quite different from a “birth certificate”. A “certificate of BIRTH” only proves that you were born. A “BIRTH certificate” shows where you where born, and to whom your parents are ETC.. Now he hasn’t been able to show his “BIRTH CERTIFICATE” simply because he does not have one from Hawaii. He does have a “BIRTH CERTIFICATE” where he was born in KENYA. I have seen that one….And as getting my JJS together “KNOWN TO YOU AS SH#T” I have had it together ever since you have been commenting. I have had to flush the JJS down twice now, because “JJS” gets to stinking after a few minutes out in the OPEN.
So for Goodness Sake Quit putting all this JJS out, because I imagine people like myself are tired of flushing JJS down their commode.
Grow up and get a life, and when you comment on something, know what you are talking about. Simply because it stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Joe H.

        JJS,
NUMBER ONE, I’m not like youin that I don’t care what people that are shredding the constitution I swore to defend think about me! YOU are the one that seems to be that shallow!!! NUMBER TWO, I enjoy watching you get all riled up by what I say, along with scabber jabber coal minor,Also!!! NUMBER THREE, Your opinion is like a behind, everyone has one and yours smells!!!

      • eyeswideopen

Sally, so, what you want is only the independent wealthly running for office? Pro Bono? Only the rich could afford to serve. Since the majority of the population isn’t rich, how do you think we would have good representation?

      • Harold Olsen

BOTH parties? Democrat and Republican. Two sides of the same coin and interchangeable.

    • Redhead

Part of our economic problems are the result of no new taxes, and actually cutting taxes, in the past 9 years while waging two wars with no means to pay for them other than deficit spending…a totally unRepublican idealogy. But then we don’t need a middleclass do we.

      • eyeswideopen

Redhead, you are one of the few who grasp the fact that for the first time in our history, we waged war, without raising taxes to pay for it. You restore my faith that some do understand that wars are costly and that Bush didn’t give two craps about how he was damaging this country.

      • Joe H.

Gee, I guess Bush was in office for NINE years, hey Eyes??? I think that includes your hero O-man, too!!!!

      • Harold Olsen

Actually, Bush must have been in office even longer than that because the left also says he and Cheney were responsible for the Oklahoma bombing.

      • eyeswideopen

Joe, no, redhead knows that the Repubs have had power since the Clinton administration right on through the Bush admin. Total of 11 years. Babe you need to do some research and learn who has had power and when. Oh, I forgot, it doesn’t matter to you and yours, who is responsible, you just want to blame anyone excect those who made the decisions, as they just happen to be Conservatives and Republicans. Try reading this, it will help you with the facts. http://uspolitics.about.com/od/usgovernment/l/bl_party_division_2.htm

      • cr747

Sure doesn’t take mush to raise your faith. Wait until OBAMA gets through with you!!!!!!!!!!

      • cr747

Well, they say my plane is ready, so I’m off to Hawaii for some much needed R and R. Catch you guys at a later time. God Bless America, and all of you stay safe. In my prayer’s!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • JJS

The Democrats got what the Republicans left them. It will take a person who really cares for our country and our Constitution to put us back on the right track. The only person that I know of that can and will do that is Ron Paul, the most honest man in America now that Paul Harvey isn’t here any more.

      • cr747

JJS did I understand you right ,that OBAMA was in a magnum coming out loud in Harvard???? If so why doesn’t he show the papers he received from there. I know; he doesn’t have them to show. Why doesn’t he have them??? Well because if he did he would have to show where he got grants for being born in a foreign country and receiving those funds which would automatically show that he was born in Kenya. So see how simple that is. Do you understand now that he is not qualified to be a president of THE UNITED STATES

So, just hang in there, and listen to the people that are trying to teach you something when commenting.I see where you told someone back in one of their comments, SHUT UP, AND KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED UNTIL YOU LEARN ENOUGH TO BE COMMENTING WITH THE BIG PEOPLE. So get your diaper changed, and get back in your little crib!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • eyeswideopen

cr747, your last comments are exactly why nothing can be done in this country. Just because you disagree doesn’t mean you need to belittle someone. Most lawyers are trained to hold their emotions in check and never make statements that would show their emotional immaturity. You aren’t a lawyer are you? lmao.

      • cr747

Talk about belittlement!! Do you write your on comments or does someone else do it for you???

      • coal miner

        Eyes,

The more cr474 writes, there more I am convince He is a liar and a blow heart. How can you go to Hawaii in three days and for that so called needed rest he was babbling about. This was on his private jet.If he said two weeks,it could have merit. The way he keeps talking and belittling Obama calling him a Muslem, would be a quick way to disbarment. His education is most likely on high school level. He talks like red neck.A racist while back pass the bar exam and was denied by the American bar association.Don’t believe this wind bag for a second.
        Have a good day!

      • cr747

A lire and a blow heart. What is a blow heart? Enlighten me here please. I’ve never heard that statement before now!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://termdispr john r mc lemore

    ron paul is nuts

    • Ray

Wow, that explains everything. Do you mean like he should be in a psych ward or like crazy as a fox? Mind telling us on what facts you have based this conclusion?

    • J C

Individual Responsibility, Personal Liberty, The US Constitution, Fiscal Responsibility, Honesty in Government…Yup! the man is obviously insane. ;)

    • http://personalliberty.com Dorothy

I would say it would be best at this critical time if ron paul shut his foolish mouth.

      • J C

That way the commies in the White House could have free reign. Good idea! There is nothing foolish about Americans living by the Constitution our country was founded on. Unless of course you happen to be one of the “New Age Socialist” …Americans(?)

      • JJS

I would say it would be best at this critical time if Dorothy shut her foolish mouth.

      • DaveH

Dorothy reminds me of my mother, a staunch Democrat. My mother said she could never vote for Bush. I asked her why. She said “because he’s so ugly”.

      • eyeswideopen

Dave, I wish I had spoken to your mother, prior to my making a big mistake by voting for Bush. She knew ugly when she saw it. LOL.

      • http://personalliberty.com Dorothy

DaveH I am not a democrat, never have been and never will be.

      • cr747

What in the hell has LOOKS got to do with electing a president? Darn, look at what is in the white house now, FRICK and FRACK. They invented ugly. Motor mouth OBAMA, bug eyed PELOSI, hyena SHUMER, snake in the grass REID, fred sanford RANGEL, goofy BIDEN. Lord talking about ugly!!!!!!!!!!

      • Joe H.

        cr747,
I think that would be dumbo eared O-man!!!!

      • cr747

Yea Joe H that’s a good one. Damn he has got big ears doesn’t he?!!!!!!!

      • Joe H.

        cr747,
Yeah I was surprised that he had to take AF one to get to Amsterdam!!! Think how much a year he could save us in expenses if he just flapped them biggies!!!!

      • eyeswideopen

cr747, Daves comment went right over your head. Too bad.

      • cr747

At least it went over my head,”as you said,” and not through it!!!!!!!

    • JJS

On the contrary! Ron Paul is the only one of the current bunch of politicians that isn’t nuts.

      • c lee

        I will agree with that.

  • tomeg42

What we need to have here is the arrest and conviction of these politicians that go against our constitution. Dick Cheney is a war criminal and should be treated as such. Obama should not be the one to say he doesn’t want to go back and deal with the mishaps of the last administration. Well there was so much criminal activity in the last administration that the people of these United States should have their rights taken seriously and that means following through with investigations of Cheney and all the others involved in illegal activities. Going to war was a crime all on it’s own by every Congressmen/women who voted to do so. I say that because they didn’t carry out their obligation to declare war against any country and this ridiculous war on a tactic just shows how completely stupid those in the media and Government are to continue to call it such. What is happening now with OUR GOVERNMENT is out of control. Obama is going to shove this socialist health care bill down our throats when the majority of the citizens are totally against it as it is written. The bribery that is going on for the votes to pass it with our tax dollars is criminal activity were seeing happening right in front of us by Harry Reid. This most stop and these law breaking politicians must be arrested and tried for the crimes they are committing. Enough with their BULL!!!!!

  • jillian

Why do we keep trying to follow the rats down holes? Why are we looking to engage them on their turf, so they always have the upper hand?! I think we should bring all of our people home, and have them patrol OUR borders and shores, and line up with their guns, and wait for these hot shot terrorists. We’re chasing shadows and lining the pockets of dirty players like Cheney! I say Ron Paul makes sense. We need to stop feeding into the 9/11 frenzy. We’re not ignorant. If there truly is a war on “TERROR”(yes! I said it!!), then have the balls to say it, and defend our country at home.No more cat and mouse! No more propaganda!

“The American people should be made aware of the trend toward monopolization of the great public information vehicles and the concentration of more and more power over public opinion in fewer and fewer hands.” – Spiro Agnew

“By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make a people see even heaven as hell or an extremely wretched life as paradise.” – Adolph Hitler

“The greater the lie, the greater the chance that it will be believed.” – Adolf Hitler

“The broad masses of a population are more amenable to the appeal of rhetoric than to any other force.” – Adolf Hitler

      • JJS

You only quoted one decent person. Harry Truman, the last of our great presidents. Ron Paul and Harry Truman would be a great pair to draw to.

      • eyeswideopen

Adam, point made. Cheney thinks if he tells the lie enough times, he will be able to re-write history, in his favor. Hopefully, people will remember and not allow the facts to be forgotten.

      • cr747

THE FACTS, I won’t forget the facts. Bush/Chaney makes this Muslim prez. look so stupid that he can’t even face the camera when talking!!!! OBAMA will look at the right teleprompter, and then turn and look at the left teleprompter, but never once look straight into the camera in front of him. We have really got a BOZO for a president, and a CLOWN for vice president. I don’t know what you would call the rest of his nominated by HIM screwballs!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Joe H.

        cr747,
he’s afraid if he looks straight at the camera that all of America will see he’s lying not just the conservatives and a few of the dems!!!

      • cr747

        Joe H
that could be the reason, but I think if he takes his eyes off of the teleprompter that he will get confused, and not remember which one is next!!!!!!!!!!

    • Joe H.

      jillian,
yes, by all means let’s do that!! Then the next time it can be some American child that dies, maybe yours, will you feel better then? Maybe your businessman spouse!! Ah, I know, your little ol’ grandmother!!! Sound Good???

    • Earlw

The terrorists have already won THEIR battle….. They have terrified the American populace and made us react to them, on their turf…Methinks our government has an ulterior motive in the middle east and south Asia, like controlling Caspian basin oil and the choke points of the oil routes of the south Arabian peninsula, and setting up forward bases for more of the same in client countries. Anyone who does the research on such websites as globalresearch.ca or stratfor.com can easily find these things out, not to mention numerous other websites and blogs, so GAT BEEZEE!

      • Joe H.

        Earlw,
do you have any idea how much oil we get from the middle east? obviously you don’t as we get only about, if I remember the right number it is something like 20%. The rest comes from south America, Canada and our own!!

  • Robert

Well you have to say one thing about Ron Paul. He doesn’t mix his words and does not embrace the art of Washington Speak. I give the man credit for standing by his convictions. Now if the rest of the Washington crowd would do the same, maybe they could fiz the mess they created. As far as Afghanstan and Iraq are concerned, no matter how much American blood is shed, these people will never change their centuries of tribal differences. Didn’t Obama say, “You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.”? He should heed his own words. You really want to get rid of the terrorist? Bomb the hell out of these countries and let God sort out the good ones.

    • J C

I think it was Ross Perot who said “You can put lipstick on a pig and call it Charlene, but it’s still a pig”.

      • Joe H.

Yeah and HE wasn’t a Wacko!!!!

      • Harold Olsen

Now THAT is an understatement if I ever heard one!

    • JJS

Either bomb the hell out of them or pull out. Screwing around for eight years hasn’t gotten it done.

  • CUZIN ERN

Constructive comment is one thing, since it is already in the distant past..
What is of concern is what is tendered to happen to our future…namely
the usurptson of the Constitution by attempting to pass legislation that amounts a complete take over of the Union and liquidating the constitution there by setting up a dictatorship and melding it into a world govt.

This is a complete violation of the constitution and is criminal and demands that those conspirators be brought up on charges; and if guilty .be imprisoned or executed as the case may be….

    • J C

Good point. Part of that overall is the plan for the US to sign into the UN gun ban treaty. The precursor to global confiscation. Anyone remember this sort of thing happening in the past?

      • Adam

Hum… Maybe Germany in the early 1930s?

      • John W.

The way the government is being taken over is prcisely the way Hitler took over Germany

      • JJS

Who should we worry about taking over the United States? Do you think that there is any one person or organization that can pull it off?

      • Curtis

John, thanks for reinforcing the stereotype, Americans know nothing about world geography or world history.

      • JC

Exactly right John, the parallels are astounding.

      • DaveH

Oh, and you do know what Americans know, Curtis?

      • Joe H.

        DaveH,
curtis only knows he misses socialist Germany and wants the same thing here!!!!! I would be glad to take up a collection to send him back….ONE WAY OF COURSE!!!!

      • eyeswideopen

Curtis, just because Palin, didn’t know why there is a N. Korea and S. Korea, didn’t know how WW2 started, didn’t know that Iraq didn’t attack us( and the list goes on and on) doesn’t mean that most Americans are ignorant of world history. However we now have the Republican party denying any wrong doing in the past 8 yrs, so maybe you are right. Maybe we just refuse to learn from history. Both parties need to clean house. Campaign reform of not allowing corporate monies in politics would be a start. Politicians are bought and paid for with corporate dollars and until we stop the flow of funds we will be controlled by special interests.

      • Joe H.

        Eyes,
Yeah and now we have a president that doesn’t know there aren’t 57 states, loves the Muslims and likes to campaign too much. We have a vice pres that sticks his size twelve in his mouth every time he speaks! “come on ….. stand up and take a bow, come on stand up!!!” Oh that’s right he’s cripple in a wheel chair!!!!! Nothing stupid about these two!!!!

      • DaveH

        Eyes,
Campaign Finance Reform is just what incumbants love. It takes a lot of money to unseat an incumbant who has had years of face time with the public.
A better alternative would be to require full disclosure of where any campaign funds have come from, and enforce those rules. Then the voters could make up their minds if the candidates are “bought and paid for”.

      • DDC

yea like Obama was. Bought the election with the help of the idiot Democrats

      • eyeswideopen

DaveH, we already have those types of laws about campagin monies, and here in Florida those shifty politicians have found a way around those same laws. Each state should give the same amount of money to each person and that’s it. We all want the states to have more power and since the Congressmen represent the states, let the states come up with the funds for all who want to run. Each person gets the same amount and are accountable for the monies spent. That would end the constant stream of monies by the corporations to politicians, thus ending the purchasing of favors that benefit the corporations.

    • Earlw

I do believe its called ********* TREASON ********* What I can’t understand is why no one has brought articles of impeachment to the floor even IF it couldn’t have a chance of passing….

Plainly our SWORN under oath legislators have lost all allegiance to the constitution.

  • Norm

Wow Ron Paul is smarter than I gave him credit for. He is absolutely right on this one. Dick Cheney is an insult to everything this country stands for. We fought an unecessary war with the wrong enemy and in the process killed and maimed thousands of good american kids, and spent nearly a $1,000,000,000,000 in taxpayer money. Now he doesn’t have the decency to shut his ugly mouth. Cheney didn’t solve problems he created them.

    • Arkham Grundy

      Great point!

    • John W.

George Bush and Dick Cheney put in place means to attack our enemys
and keep us from attack for eight years. Saddam did have poison gas and he was working on ballistic missles and did invade Kuwaite and was planning to invade Saudi Arabia.
People should listen to Dick Cheney because he knows what he is talking about.

    • DaveH

You’re worried about taxpayer money Norm? You could have fooled me, but I welcome it if it is indeed true.

      • Joe H.

        DaveH,
Only if he thinks there’s a slight chance he might have to pay it!! He must have got a Christmas job!!!!

  • realbigal

The Conspiracy continues to have overwhelming success in neutralizing effective opposition to the enslavement of Americans. By playing the various Establishment games with the underinformed public, they cause many good citizens to mistrack their own sincere efforts to restore freedom and the Consittution. So what does a patriot do? It can be very complicated to explain all the things that are effective while exposing the Trojan Horses put out by the conspirators. But fortunately, there is a simple way to determine what actions are truly helpful and which ones are misleading and wasteful.

Since the 1970′s the most effective and accurate advocate of the correct policies needed to save freedom is Ron Paul. He has phenomenal support of the most knowledgeable patriots who really know what is happening and what to do about it. That is why his voting record in Congress has been perfect. A simple and reliable way to advance freedom is simply to get your own Congressman to vote the same way that Ron Paul does. Regardless of who is President, that is all it would take.

    • Judy

Realbigal, I agree. The more I learn about Ron Paul’s vision for the good of this country the clearer it becomes to me that the guy just makes good sense.

    • OneVoice

      Realbigal:

Thank you for your comment, very well stated, I agree whole heartedly. I don’t even need to post a comment now to counter some of these ridiculous comments. While it can be complicated, the info is out there fellow patriots, time to wake up. We are smart enough, we MUST be smart enough if we are going to change anything. Dem or Repub…both heading to the same place, you just vote for the speed in which they’ll take us there.

“Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women. When it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it.”

      • Joe H.

        OneVoice,
while I agree with your sentiments on Paul, I have to say that we to focus on what happens when we split the vote! If we split the vote on a man that can’t get elected, then we may as well hand the job right over to O-man for another 4 years!! It happened with Ross Perot. He was unelectable but got just enough votes that the repub couldn’t get in either!!!!

      • Duh

Please, name one difference between Obama and Bush.

      • Joe H.

Same type, but O-man has even worse attitudes and doesn’t keep the homeland safe!!!! I never heard Bush say that if push comes to shove he would come down on the side of the Muslims!!!

      • eyeswideopen

Joe H, you sound just like Fox news, spewing lies. What has happened that this country isn’t safe? Don’t go to the diaper bomber, as I will have to state those many incidents that happened after 9/11, that your God Bush didn’t protect us from.

    • JJS

I agree whole-heartedly with you. We need to get Ron Paul elected as president. We surely couldn’t do much better, and since the 50s have done much worse. I lived through it all and have seen nothing but liars and thieves elected to office. It’s time to change, and I don’t mean change like the guy that is president now. He is as bad as any of them have been.

  • Glen Welch

Apparently Bill hasn’t read the comment policy for this column!

  • Joe

Paul still doesn’t realize we are at WAR!

Let those radical arabs hijack and fly an airplane into the Cowboys new stadium, and see what he says THEN!

WHY do Republicans always criticize ourselves, while the Dems always circle the wagons around their own, whether it be BJ’s in the White House, or RACIST comments by a leader?

    I’ll never understand!

    • Sterling

You are right, Joe. You will never understand. Firstly, we are not at war, it was never declared. Secondly, the 911 event does not call for a military response, we were attacked by people not a country. 911 should have been responded to by police just like Oklahoma city.

      • Norm

        Sterling
Bravo. Am I on the right web site today?

      • bruce milne

it is so sad to see how so many Americans have been manipulated by the media, and have bought into a culture of fear and hate. Dick Cheney believed in what he did. after all it was always in his own best interest. at least he has shown some integrity by not aiming large doses of hypocritical criticism at the current administration. George W. Bush has shown even more integrity since leaving office. Pity they couldn’t show more of it while in office. That being said, i’ll show some patience for the current executive branch. A longer term vision on foreign policy is required in order to collaborate with allies, build with neutrals, to change the outlook of many who have been alienated by American actions, and to truly defeat our enemies. i am not overly hopeful, but i will pray for progress.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

bruce – what is your definition of integrity??????? Or does it only matter with the ones dishing it out?

      • denniso

Joe, were we at war w/ Tim McVeigh?? Were we at war w/ the Montana militia?? Were we at war w/the KKK?? Are we at war w/ neo nazis??

Bruce, thanks for your civil comment, but you are flat wrong about Cheny/Bush..they both are war criminals, invading a country w/ no provocation…Cheny will go down in infamy and his jr partner Bush as the dumbest and most incompetent president ever.

      • cr747

denniso, wrong as usual Bush/Chaney will go down in history way above the MUSLIM OBAMA. Can’t you people see he is selling our country out. He’s one of the biggest enemy’s that THE UNITED STATES has. He’s admitted more than once that he is a MUSLIM!!!!!!!!!! Wake up America!!!!!!!

      • denniso

cr…seriously,do you think you’re a bigot?? Obama IS NOT a Muslim, but even if he were,so what? Does the constitution say that only Christians can be prez? Don’t you believe in religious freedom? Do you want a religious test for candidates like Iran and similar countries have?? Get a grip, and if you are an attorney you should no better than that idiotic comment you made.

      • Joe H.

        denniso,
I’m not looking for a religious test, but I sure would like a national loyalty test!!!!

      • cr747

denniso, you can call me what ever you want to. I am a big boy I can take name calling. You just remember what I told you OBAMA is a MUSLIM. That is why he is telling the Muslims when he will pull our troops out. He also keeps repeating that we are not fighting against the Muslims. It doesn’t mater to me what denomination or where they worship. What does matter IS That The President Of The United States cannot be born in another country,”like Kenya.”!!!!!!!!!!!

      • http://WWW.FIS4HER.COM RICEPADDYROB

What an ignorant comment – Oklahoma city was planned and carried out by US born terrorist with full right granted by constitution. 911 was a terrorist attacked on New York and DC, that was planned in Afganistan by terrorist that had already declared war on the USA and had been attacking and killing Americans for years all over the world and in America. You are absolutely clueless.

      • Fr33dom

Are you 100% positive that what you just typed is true? Or is it what the media fed to us? I have discovered in my many years on Earth that what we read is not always the truth. What we see is in how we interpret it in our own minds eye. We can no longer be 100% positive on anything we read/see/hear from the media.

      • James

Ricepaddyrob, In 2003 when President Bush asked Congress for authority to seek and kill the 9-11 terrorists, he never mentioned Afghanistan. As the article stated, 14-15 of the hijackers were Saudi Arabians, who had been here for sometime. His invasion of Iraq was because Israel considered Iraq to be a threat to them. At that time, Iraq was no threat to the United States, so Bush conjoured up the WMD story and Congress fell for it. We now know the Iraq war had nothing whatsoever to do with 9-11, our forces killed Hussein and destroyed Iraq’s government to protect Israel.

      • http://Don'thaveone Sally

Not 100% true. Even President Clinton stated that his sourses had told him that there were WMD in IRAG hidden in bunkers. I forget the lady’s name that said she had called Clinton to tell him where Osama was so that we could take him out; unfortuantely Clinton was more interested in what he was doing at the time with ML. Bush did not make up that story — besides like Reagan did – he was strong and let the terrorist know, you are not holding us hostage period paragraph especialy after all the mess that Carter did – I just hope we can get things straightened out and get Obummer out, reverse all the mess, no more bowing, and get back on target again or I’m afraid we are sunk.

      • Joe H.

        Sally,
James and others like him think that Bush and Cheney were able to bend intelligence even before they were in office thus Clintoon was fooled by them!!!! I can’t believe I had to post that!!! to them though it’s the gospel!!!!

      • cr747

Sally, SLICK WILLY sure was enjoying chewing on those CIGARS evidently. But I believe he said that while in college he tried marijuana, BUT, he never did inhale. What a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • eyeswideopen

        Hand clapping!!

      • JJS

Weren’t they both attacks on American soil that killed people? What difference does the perpetrators’ nationality, religion, race, sex, age, personality, clothes they wear, which side they part their hair on, which leg they put in their pants first or anything else have to do with how to respond to the attack?

      • Claire

cr747–I have to agree with you on this –”didn’t inhale” Egad, this tells me he thought we were all stupid or something. Sorry, here I go again, but his body language told me he was the type of person that was “up to no good.” If you study a person really well, the face and its expression, the eyes, the mouth, and the mannerisms can sometimes really tell you what a person is like. To me, he always had a smirk. I won’t go no farther.

      • eyeswideopen

Claire, didn’t the Nazi’s murder some innocent people who just happened to “look Jewish”? Your using body english to discredit and judge someone is so barbaric and backwards that I hope you never get nervous in a situation which would make people decide that you too are not to be trusted based on your body language. You were joking weren’t you??

      • libertytrain

Eyes has once again confused me by changing Claire’s words into something totally different than what Claire said. Of course, I’m probably incredibly stupid but body language is kind of being studied quite a bit these days — there are many examples and books written on the subject but again, they were probably all wrong as well. —- However, I never heard or saw an interview with a body language expert who referred to anyone “looking” Jewish?

      • J C

Exactly right. Its an occupation, or maybe a US World Cop action…but not a war.

      • Albert

Foreigners attacked one of our cities, the Pentagon (our military), and tried for the White House (our President), and that’s not war? Does somebody need to say “I declare war on you” for you to understand?

      • Troy

Albert ,,you need to do some investigating and quit listening to the bought and paid for media.

      • mk

No, we don’t need to have war declared on us. We need to have our congress who is our official representation, declare war on someone. That has not happened yet. That won’t happen. No one even knows who to declare war on. If we keep going the way we are going, we might as well just blow the rest of the earth out of the water, and leave us a lone island over here. There is no way the terrorists could get to us then! Better yet, why don’t we figure out what it is that is the real reason they terrorize us. Could it be that they are sick of our troops occupying every corner of the earth? How would we like it if China decided that since we are a threat to them, that they are going to set up bases all throughout the US. They will just walk up and down our streets to keep the insurgents from acting out. I’m sure we would love that. God bless the Chinese for ensuring our safety.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

MK: We indeed did have someone declare an illegal war on a country that had nothing to do with the 9/11 attack on America. Then instead of finishing the job (keeping a promise to get (bin Laden). What were bin Laden’s family members doing here in the states? Being wined and dined by whom ? Flown out of here on our government planes in the early morning hours of 9/12?? When Cheney turned tail and ran from Afganastan he also took the al-Qaida and a lot more thugs into Iraq to do more body damage to our brave troops and innocent citizens. Just what was the fear that the information that Saddam Hussein might reveal that could in any way change the course of events? American citizens that just may have changed a few minds concerning a lot of propaganda that was being spewed by our so called news networks—-YEP best mouthpieces and propagandists this country has ever seen.

      • JC

Albert, according to our Constitution we are supposed to declare a war “on them” before we send Americans off to kill and die. Which part don’t you understand? And I wonder if you’ve looked back any farther than 2001, say at least as far as 1950 at what western foreign policy has been towards these people. What we have is something the CIA calls “blowback”. This is not a personal attack…just something you should consider.

      • JJS

How many of those foreigner were Iraqis and Afghanis?

      • denniso

Osama bin Laden attacked us..he was harbored by the Taliban in Afghanistan, who are bad enough on their own. We removed the Taliban from power and let Osama escape. He’s the main enemy and Bush should have gotten him..the actual hijackers were nothing but foot soldiers. Saddam was a bad guy but he didn’t attack us and Cheny/Bush screwed up big time going after him and letting Afghanistan take a back seat,so the war wasn’t finished..now that’s incompetence and stupidity on their part and the part of the people who still support the Iraq invasion.

      • Joe H.

        Albert,
These guys seem to forget that congress DID give Bush permission to start the aggression against Iraq!!!

        Dee D,
“When Cheney ran from Afghanistan”????? What pus told you that???? And he took the AQ with him??? Do you have brown eyes? I would almost bet on it!!! Remember….A mind is a terrible thing to waste and you are guilty!!!!

Sterling, finally, someone who realizes that we weren’t attacked by a country. It is a mystery that the attackers were Saudi’s yet we didn’t go after that country did we? Could that have been because the Bush’s have a long and tight history with the Saudi royal family? No, say it ain’t so Joe!!! lol…

      • Joe H.

        Sterling,
And which police force do you suggest we send to the middle east to apprehend the conspirators in 9/11??? Miami Dade? How about East Cleveland Ohio? Yours is the same type of asinine thinking that said Viet Nam was not a war either!! We ARE at war! At war with any country that tries to export their human misery that sends 3000 people to the morgue and countless others to the hospital in just a flash of time and if you can’t get that through your thick skull then you are lost and in need of a brain transplant cause you haven’t got one!!!!

      • eyeswideopen

Joe, be kind, no need to treat people with such disrespect. Obvious your brain is filled with hatred, but just because someone disagrees doesn’t mean you should belittle them.

      • libertytrain

Eyes, did you read the words you wrote here to JOE:
“Obvious your brain is filled with hatred, but just because someone disagrees doesn’t mean you should belittle them.”

I mean did you ever think about the words you wrote when you do write so many of your comments to people – like for instance, Claire — What is it “Do as I say, not as I do” ???

The Demonicans and Republicrats are the same on foreign policy. No one circles any wagons, unless its to insure the military industrial complex continues to prosper. War has to be declared by congress. Have you heard them declare War on any nation lately? They have a War on Drugs, War on Poverty and War on Terrorism. Have they won any of these yet? War on poverty is almost 50 years old, War on drugs about 30! Where has this gotten us? Now we have war on an ideology; how ridiculous. How will you win that?

      • DaveH

        So true Ray.

    • Michael

Do me a big favor? Please do not vote. We do not need dummies voting against their own interest.

    • Akston

How can one be “at war” with a tactic? Does “terrorism have a leadership that can surrender and end this “war”? No? Then when will this “war” end??

      • Joe H.

        Akston,
hopefully not before every one of those pus ridden terror minded holes are DEAD!!

      • Akston

        Joe,

I share your animosity towards people who target and kill innocents, and I have no problem supporting the relentless pursuit of perpetrators who initiated these atrocities.

A question lingers to trouble me, however. What if the very actions that the U.S. government takes in the name of security actually breed many more terrorists than the U.S. government can hunt down and kill?

Wouldn’t it be prudent to mix the pursuit of justice with policies that might actually decrease future recruitment inducements? What induces recruitment? Should we care what the recruits claim induced them? Isn’t that kind of intel useful if one wants to affect the incentive?

How does one ever get them all if he keeps making more? When does it end? We want it to end, right?

      • eyeswideopen

        Akston, well said. Logic rules!!!

I think he not only sucks, but he looks like a rummy watery eyed pedophile. He cares nothing about the great country he was allowed to fleece as many people as he could, stripping a lot out of everything.
But it’s all going to work out in the end. He’s danced to the piper – now it’s time for his payback.

DICK CHANEY told the truth. It was stupid for OBAMA to announce a date to withdraw our troops. Only a MUSLIM would do that to another MUSLIM country. OBAMA is putting all our service men and womens life’s in jeopardy. He’s letting the enemy know every move the UNITED STATES is going to make!!!!!!!!!

      • Claire

cr747–Right on. A person/country NEVER tells the enemy their plans. This is inviting disaster and the enemy will wait it out. The minute the person/country leaves, lock, stock, and barrel, no doubt all hell will break loose, and things will go back to the way they were and it will be all for naught. Now Obama has to make sure the “goal” will be accomplished. He shot himself in the foot. Be careful what you say, it will come back to bite you applies to this situation.

      • eyeswideopen

cr747, do you not remember that the Iraq government has dictated the withdrawal date? During Bush’s term we made an agreement that we would leave by a certain date. What do you call that? It is definately a date, that was made public by our government. You seem to forget or are attempting to ignore the actions of the previous administration.

    • Ray

Maybe Mr. Stafford would prefer USSA which is what is has become. Socialists all suck!

    • Fr33dom

Gosh Bill, that is a harsh statement to say. To say that Ron Paul sucks because HE IS HONEST AND FORTHRIGHT??? It shows your intelligence for sure. Okay, go back now and put your head in the sand for a few more years.

      • Joe H.

        fr33dom,
I prefer he put his head back where it was prior to his asinine statement…. Back up his wazoo!!!!

      • Alton Robinson

I did not agree with a lot that Bush–Cheny did but at least they did it in the open they always were in the open with what they were going to do, not always how they were going to do it (which makes sense). Ron Paul cannot not be to open or the msm would be on him as they are on Palin. She says what she thinks regardless of what group she is speaking to. Can you say that of Paul? The people we have running this country now is doing it behind closed doors. And we have a prez that has admitted that he will stand by the muslims that we are actually at war with.
Give me open minded people anytime than someone that does something behind closed doors, because they think it is for my good. I have a mind let me do my own thinking.

      • denniso

Cheny needs to butt out of nat’l politics and go shooting…he’s been around far too long and he’s screwed up more than enough for one man. He’s a disgusting human and should be in jail..ron paul is right that he should shut up and get the hell out of the way. Other conservatives should also shout him down.

      • Jana

Alton, I agree with you. Ron Paul comes off to me as someone who would not defend our country any better than Obama does.
I have not always agreed with the Bush Cheney admin., but what you saw is what you got.
I have written to Ron Paul and told him what I thought of his perceived weaknesses and why I would never vote for him.
I personally am thankful that Cheney is standing up to the Obama admin. and trying to make them accountable for their actions.

      • coal miner

        Jana,

It was under Dick Chaney, the identity CIA operative was reveal.Where did you get this ignorance? That young woman could lost her life. This slimy pus is the worst kind of nightcrawler. He should go to Jail and for other crimes.

      • denniso

Brilliant Jana…I really didn’t think you were sush a blind sheep and follower!! Did you learn it from Limbaugh the real moron traitor?

      • Joe H.

        coal minor,
And it is under your messiah O-man that the CIA is being investigated!! Do you not think that a few agents will be “outed” during that?!?!? And after saying that it was time to look forward not backward to blame!!! What a pus!!!!

      • Joe H.

        Gee, coal minor,
        no answer to that?

      • Harold Olsen

I agree, though I thought Bush was a lousy president. What I will give him credit for was keeping us safe after 9/11. That was about the only thing he did right. I often think it would have been better if instead of Bush/Cheney it had been Cheney/Bush or maybe Cheney/someone else. I’m glad Cheney is speaking out against that Nazi SOB Obama. I hope he keeps it up. As someone else said, Ron Paul decides what to say based on who he is speaking to. I don’t trust people like that. They are too hypocritical.

      • eyeswideopen

Joe H, you obviously don’t recall any history, other than that which you are trying to re-write. Does Iran-Contra mean anything to you? CIA involved in illegal drugs and guns? 11 people from Regans administration served jail time for that incident. You certainly aren’t stupid, so I know that you can’t believe that the CIA or any other organizastion should have impunity of oversight. We have many instances where the CIA did not act according to the law and the Congress has addressed this problem before. Why now is it not allowed for the Justice Dept to question the actions of the CIA? Is the CIA above review and can carry out any actions they so deem appropriate?

    • John W.

      I aggree

    • JJS

I’ve read and watched this blog for a couple weeks and promised myself that I wouldn’t get involved arguing with anybody, but when I read your comment about the only honest, straight-forward Representative in the House, I couldn’t keep that promise.

Ron Paul is the finest American since Paul Harvey. Anyone who is a detractor of Ron Paul is simply either a left wing or right wing radical. I would even go so far to call those who don’t embrace Ron Paul’s words of wisdom un-American. You can’t believe in America if you don’t believe Ron Paul.

In my many years I’ve listened to hundreds or more politicians either flat-out lie or bend the truth every time they opened their mouths. Ron Paul is the only exception, bar none, that I wouldn’t say that about. He is the ONLY tell-it-like-it-is politician that I have ever seen, heard or known of, and he has been that way since 1976 when he was first elected.

      • JC

        Hear Hear!

      • Duh

That’s the way I see it too, to be against Ron Paul is to be against the Constitution.

      • Jana

Sorry, I am an American and a conservative, but Ron Paul is one of the reasons that I did not vote Libertarian. I do believe he is honest, but I also think he is weak. He does speak for a lot of the values that I do, but he is weak on defense and for that reason I could not vote for him.
I wrote to him about it and he never bothered to answer me either.

      • Akston

Running around the world kicking every 2000 year old seething anthill is strength? I thought it just got you ant-bitten…

      • J C

Jana, non intervention is not necessarily weakness. It just means we should stop interfering in the lives and politics of other nations.
If we did that, we would have a lot fewer enemies. The idea is to be strong enough though, that no one would dare screw with us. We can do that without occupying foreign nations and still trade with the world.

      • Harold Olsen

Likewise. I was planning on voting for Libertarian candidate Bob Barr unless he did or said something stupid. Well, when he said he wanted Ron Paul as his running mate, that ended it for me. Like I said in another posting, Ron Paul decides what to say depending on who he is speaking to and I just can’t trust anyone like that. And as for people who say that if you don’t agree with Ron Paul you are un-American, well that is no different than Obama and his ilk saying that if you oppose him you are a racist. But then that is the type of argument I’d expect from the left.

      • Akston

        Harold,

I don’t see your preference against Ron Paul as un-American at all. I disagree with you, but imagine you have your reasons for assuming that Ron Paul decides what to say based on his audience. Indeed, every politician does.

However, my experience has been that Congressman Paul is actually more constant than any other politician in my memory, and his invariability will occasionally work to his peril. As evidence of this, I wonder if you might remember his comments during the Univision speech in Florida during his campaign:

        http://www.rollingstone.com/nationalaffairs/index.php/2007/12/10/ron-paul-has-huge-cajones/

I accept that you don’t prefer Ron Paul for your own reasons, but pandering would be a hard reason to support.

      • JJS

        Harold Olsen,

Why is it that anyone who disagrees with you is from the left? Ron Paul is in the same category as Paul Harvey and Gerald Ford. That trio has more honesty in their pinkie fingers than any politician that I have seen or heard in the 60+ years of my lifetime. You defame him, but what evidence do you have of his saying different things depending on to whom he is speaking?

I contend that if you dislike Ron Paul’s politics, you are un-American because true Americans don’t want their politicians to pump them full of lies like the past and present administrations have historically done. Remember things like the unprovoked attack against a U.S. destroyer on routine patrol in the Tonkin Gulf; Watergate; Carter’s claim that he was a nuclear physicist; Iran-Contra; “Read my lips: no new taxes;” “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms Lewinsky;” Mission Accomplished; Obama’s promise to use public funding; etc, etc, etc?

    • eyeswideopen

Bill, Ron Paul, actually has the nerve to state the obvious. Dick Cheney and the war mongers in his administration, have almost bankrupt this country, with a war that wasn’t justified nor necessary. He wanted to finish what big daddy Bush Sr. wasn’t allowed to do during the Gulf War and the 9/11 attack was the perfect cover for his and juniors personal agenda against Sadamn. Ron understands that America has strayed from our Constitution and no longer portrays the ethics that has governed our lives for over 230 years.

“You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked & that no one would be poor & no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”. All grades would be averaged & everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail & no one would receive an A…After the first test, the grades were averaged & everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset & the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less & the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame & name-calling all resulted in hard feelings & no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, & the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.

      • Jeff H

Right On, Sovereign Couldn’t have said it better my self.
The only addition to that would be that in a real Socialist Society
( Communist) The ones at the top (the teacher and his few favourite
lackeys (the girl in second row, and two of her friends and a relative) who are in class will get “doctored” A’s and B’s for doing
“favors” for the boss (teacher)and the rest of the class (great unwashed masses) will get screwed as usual.
In more simple terms the wealth and power will be concentrated at the
top .oo1% and the rest will just have to make do and obej.
Sadly too few people on this continent remember or care what communism(socialism) has done in the past and are all too busy trying to re-write history to the idealist revisionist version.
Well, they will be educated shortly !
