Airline Insecurity

January 8, 2010 by

Airline Insecurity

We now know for certain what many of us have long suspected—airline security is the biggest boondoggle since Franklin Delano Roosevelt created the Works Progress Administration (WPA).

Millions of air travelers wanted to believe that all of the hassle, inconvenience and indignities of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) “inspections” were somehow making us safer. But one nutty Nigerian, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, has exposed the whole horrible fraud.

There were several aspects of the Christmas Day almost-explosion on that Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit that are almost beyond belief. The first is that the suicidal jihadist was allowed on the plane in the first place. After all, consider just a few of the clues our so-called “intelligence experts” had before Abdulmutallab boarded Northwest Flight 253.

He was a known associate of Muslim extremists. In fact, his father—a respected banker in Nigeria—had actually gone to the United States Embassy there to tell authorities that his son had become a dangerous radical. That warning alone should have been enough to put Umar on the “no fly” list for the rest of his life. But no.

Then, he shows up at the Amsterdam airport with no luggage, pays cash for a one-way ticket, and manages to get himself assigned to a seat right over a fuel tank in one of the wings. Nothing suspicious about any of that, is there?

Oh, and did I mention that Abdulmutallab was waved through security with 80 grams of PETN—a compound related to nitroglycerin—and other bomb materials sewn into his underwear? We’ve been told that the new screening devices are so sophisticated they can see through your undergarments and even tell the last time you clipped your toenails. But they didn’t see anything wrong with Umar.

If there was ever a textbook example of a terrorist who should have been stopped long before he got anywhere near an airplane, it was Umar. Yet there he sat, waiting for his plane to approach Detroit before he put a blanket over his lap and tried to detonate his bomb.

Fortunately for the 278 passengers and crew on Northwest flight 253, Umar’s buddies in al-Qaida screwed up. The detonator didn’t work properly. And instead of a massive explosion that took the plane down, smoke and fire erupted from Umar’s underpants. A couple of brave passengers helped subdue the would-be bomber. And when the plane landed safely in Detroit he was led away in handcuffs.

So then what happened? Well, first, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano made a total fool out of herself and her agency by going on television and bragging that “the system worked.” No, Janet, the system didn’t come close to working—something Barack Obama finally acknowledged.

But at first, even our President was silent about what went wrong. It took three days and a rising chorus of anger and disbelief before Obama interrupted his vacation in Hawaii to admit that “there had been a ‘systemic failure’ of the nation’s security apparatus.”

Since then, I have to admit, the President has spoken out much more forcefully and emphatically. But we’re all still waiting to hear about what changes will be made to make our people and our country safer.

For starters, how about increasing the scrutiny of young Muslim males known to have ties to jihadist extremists? It’s time to stop patting down 80-year-old grandmothers and other obvious innocents. Let’s put the focus on the most likely threats to our safety and security, not the most unlikely.

As we learn more about what almost happened the news just gets worse for the reputation of our so-called security experts. Did you know that when Umar applied for a visa to visit Britain authorities there turned him down flat? Wouldn’t it have been nice if U.S. authorities acted as decisively?

“Information was not shared…. Analysis was not pooled…. Often, the handoffs of information were lost across the divide separating the foreign and domestic agencies of government.”

An accurate assessment of the mistakes that almost permitted the Christmas bombing to succeed? Not quite. That is part of the summary by the 9/11 commission of what went wrong eight years ago.

Eight years, billions of dollars and untold man-hours later, we’re still making the same mistakes. Let’s be honest here: Airport security is one gigantic boondoggle. Is there anyone anywhere who actually believes that the demeaning inconvenience of airport security is actually making us any safer?

Before you raise your hand in the affirmative, please consider this: No airline employee—not a single pilot, flight attendant or even a mechanic—has to endure the same security procedures that you and I do. In many airports they have their own private entrances where all they need do is to flash some ID and, presto, they pass through their own private portal. I’ve been told that they never even have to take off their shoes.

How difficult would it be for a potential terrorist to steal or forge some airline ID? They’d be waved through security in a second, while some 80-year-old grandmother has her denture-cream checked. (We can’t be guilty of “profiling,” don’t you know.)

The TSA has given jobs to tens of thousands of people who would barely qualify to flip burgers at McDonald’s. And don’t some of them just love the authority they’ve been given to boss us around? Talk about creating several thousand petty tyrants.

Another issue that really rankles me is the millions of productive man-hours that are being lost every year, as we shuffle shoeless through lines that are longer, slower and far more degrading than anything you have to endure at Disney World.

Is there anything worse than being herded like sheep by people you probably would never hire at your office—all the while knowing that none of this is really making you any safer?

Yes. Worse than all of the individual indignities is the effect on us as a people. We are being conditioned to be docile and obedient, to never question authority, no matter how unreasonable or abusive it becomes. And that’s what frightens me the most.

Until next time, keep some powder dry. (But don’t say that out loud at an airport.)

If George Bush did nothing else, he was tough on terrorists, and tried to keep our country safe. I need to believe that some one truly gives a care for our country and our well being, am I being naive?

    • Raggs

I would have to say this administration does not give any more than .01cent. He is too busy trying to impress himself and the media.
It takes regular folks to stop him and his out-of-control ego.

    • DaveH

No, you’re not being Naive Boo, but I think a much better solution to our safety is a well-armed society. And in fact many in Government are trying their best to disarm us.
      See this Video:

      • gaetano

Well now Dave,Lets talk about disarmed, gunmen. Type in on any site (muslims compounds training in the U.S.) Thats right there are 35 of them, and explain to me why Mr.Obama and this so called protection of the people, government is allowing this to go on. They are training and putting together a muslim army to fight from the inside.Do you believe this? CAN you believe this?I have been on edge all day reading about it and they are even on film.

      • DaveH

I wouldn’t doubt it. We have created this condition by apathetically electing leaders in both parties who instead of doing their real job (protecting people from the force of others), they have instead taken over our money and our choices.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I fully believe George W. Bush loves this country, and I observed him sacrificing his popularity to do what it took to shut down these terrorists and keep our country safe. God bless him for that. You wont see any democrats, ever, and I mean ever, sacrifice their public persona to do what is best for the people. It is all about them, and whats in it for them. Sorry, buts thats the truth. Just look at them. Pelosi, Dodd, Boxer, Feinstein, Frank, Durbin, Obama, Biden, Kerry, Edwards, Daschle, Rangle, Sharpton, Jackson, Reid. Every stinking one of them. They either have “love” children, special interest agenda’s, or various other “me” related things. George W. Bush stands heads above them. He gave, they take.

      • Raggs

        I concur!
I didn’t mean to make it sound like nobody has ever cared.
We are just stuck with an idiot ego that could care less if it does not benefit him.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Ill bet he looks in the mirror, points his finger at himself, and says “you da man”. Arrogant son of a gun.

      • Michael J.

Raggs, I disagree with almost everything I have ever heard Obama say, but he is not an idiot or stupid. I think he plots, plans and implements his own personal agenda decades in advance. He is however a maniacle, manipulative necrophiliac who lustfully exumes his perceived deficiencies of the previous adminisrtation in order to camophlage his own fowl deeds.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Raggs; So true and right on the money.

      • Michael J.

        Beberoni, I agree 100%

  • Raggs

    Next step…

    Chipset implants for everyone!

I’m not trying to make ligth of it but it’s coming, The ole addage it’s for your own good or you really need it comes to mind.

Yet the one main exploit of the government that will indeed turn everyone on thier heads.

    • DaveH

They already have that capability Raggs. They’re called Cell Phones with GPS capabilities.
Of course, the excuse they use is that they will be able to locate and save you in an emergency. Yeah, right. I had an emergency once. My girlfriend called the Police immediately. They arrived 5 minutes later, and the attackers had already fled. And that was with a physical address. Imagine you’re out somewhere remote. Does anybody really think the GPS would enable them to get to you in time in the case of a real emergency?
But if we got to the point of National Turmoil, they would enable the Government to track you easily and dispose of you at will.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Unless you throw your cell phone away.

      • JC

Exactly…so don’t forget the “Friends and Family Plan” Make sure they can track anyone associated with you as well.

    • Michael J.

Implants are not the answer. How long would it be before someone figures out how to make forged copies, reprogam or hack into them. In the mean time our government will have yet another means of control and monitoring us.

      • Raggs

        Mike..
I have considered that as well.
And to think obama want’s our medical record’s in a data base.
Prehap’s the medical record’s are a frontrunner of a chipset implant as with an excuse from them to push an indentification system.
You are correct in thinking a hacker can inflitrate and corrupt a system electronically. But i have to ask myself if this is the case then why are they pushing for an electronic file of our med record’s?
I think the answer is… They know fully well what may and will eventually happen, but that is a small price to pay..not only that but they do not have to pay that price we will.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

Raggs; Chips already have been implanted into a family in Florida. It’s coming and I hope I’m gutsy enough to cut them out of my body.

  • Earl, QUEENS, NY

Stopping potential terrorists is simple – just stop all this politically correct BS!! Just call them what they are – terrorists!! Target terrorists, not tea-partiers or mainstream American citizens like us!! Fire Napolitano and other incompetent idiots in the administration. QUIT blaming Bush and Cheney, who’ve been out of office nearly a year. (Remember that Bush/Cheney DID keep us safe after 9/11/01, and BHO is proving to be an American traitor and weak leader when it comes to national defense and security.) And stop mirandizing terrorists!! The terrorists gave up there rights when they committed their violent acts against America!! JUST SAY NO TO POLITICAL CORRECTNESS!! Need I say more??

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

When your on the left, its always going to be the fault of Bush-Cheney-Haliburton and someone else, because they never will take responsibility for what they do. Its always someone else’s fault. They need to point a finger, because thats all they got.

      • Claire

The right blames the left and the left blames the right. Cat and mouse game. Back and forth, back and forth. Where it will stop, nobody knows. United we stand, divided we fall. Realistically, ALL politicians are at fault. They all had their chance to do good, and both parties failed at one thing or another. They are not perfect and it is unrealistic to think they are but geez, don’t you just wish for once, we could at least elect people that would do a good, honest and sincere job???!!! A third pary sounds better and better to me all the time.

      • Claire

Sounds like Michael Steele has gotten himself into a bit of hot water with his fellow Republicans.

  • Merl Elton

How long is it going to take Obama to get it? We cannot afford to wussyfoot when dealing with people who are determined to kill us. How long will innocent lives be endangered due to politics and idealology.
It is human nature to want to appease our enemies; and rather sad to know that we just cannot be friends with everyone. However, we should never forget that our enemies do not think the way we do; do not cherish the same laws, values, sentiments and beliefs; and do not care about what happens to them or us; because they are driven by religious lunacy and zealotry. In fact, our enemies become heros when they kill us. Obama needs to remember this and formulate his security policies to deal with very determined, powerful, well organized, creative, and intelligent enemies who will stop at nothing; and indeed, who will use the worst atrocities against us to advance their cause. The act of trying to appease or befriend people or personalities like this only infuriates them and encourages them to use your largess to their gain and your loss; because enemies think you are not respecting them, their cause and their values. In war, the only enemies respect is artfulness, animal like stealth, quickness, and brutality. The government is not up to this job because it is too large and cumbersome and too many opinions must be resolved and politics always prevails and dilutes any real potency of strategy. No, the government should also contract out professional warriors; use double agents from the Muslim community; and go into Black Ops in order to obtain the stealth, intelligence, and creativity that the government cannot muster due to its various constraints. Also, those on terror Watch Lists should not be allowed to fly. There is no other way.

    • Raggs

I’m just wondering if he has a soft spot for Muslim’s?
You know since he is one.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Obama doesnt care. He has no ideas or plans. He is not a leader. He is the fugure head, and does what his party tells him to. And being a muslim, he is quick not to go against them, and I believe he does seek to empower them in this country. But he himself can do nothing, unless all his democratic cronies say “lets do it”, then they go behind closed doors and do their dirty deeds. I thought him and Pelosi said this was going to be a “transparent” administration? Dirty rotten stinking left wing liberal liars.

      • Raggs

        You forgot SCUM…

    • Michael J.

Merl, It’s not that he does’nt get it. It’s that his agenda is different. It has never been his intention to repair the economy but instead to tear it down. It has never been his intention to defeat terrorism, but intead to befriend Muslim’s world wide in order to to eventually receive their endorsement to become the U.N. Secretary General. Being POTUS is just a stepping stone to him.

  • Keith

I a sorry but as a recent retired pilot, Mr. Wood doesn’t know what he is talking about when it comes to flight crews (pilots & Flight Attendants). These folks are scrutinized just as the joe public before they are allowed on the airplane. I can speak that I went through as many airport screenings as the public. As a flight crew, we enter the same entrance as everyone else most of the time.

Privatized security may have been the answer, but before 911 slot of the security was done by private companies. I don’t really have the answer but keep in mind if a burglar wants in to steal something, he/she will find or attempt anything to get that diamond (US). We need better security personnel I agree but also the training and objectives must continually be adjusted. TSA really has a daunting task give them some credit. They are given the circumstances most of the time saving our flights from real terror. We need good sound ideas not just throwing mud at the situation.

    • DaveH

I don’t think anybody here blames TSA. The question is Can they really protect us? I don’t believe they can. And even if they could the terrorists will just take their action elsewhere in the country.
And as Government confiscates more of our money to provide the illusion of security, the resulting impoverishment of the US will lead to more violence, not less.

Big Government is not the Solution, it is the Problem.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You are correct Dave, about the impoverished statement. The more government grows and taxes, the more people get on the government dole, the more people get poor, and the more criminals get bred. I mean heck man, Im a Christian and a law abiding citizen, but if they continue to keep taking and taking from me, and taxing business to where someday I lose my job, and I cant find one, because all the business’s are closing down due to taxation, then guess what? Ive got to eat. Ill have to take something from somewhere to eat, because when it gets real bad, the human instinct to survive kicks in. With some, its kicked in allready, because even though there are jobs now, they dont want to work. They have become dependant on the government, and when that stops becoming enough for them, or the benefits run out, they steal and rob to get their alcohol and drug money. The more the government grows, the more the private sector shrinks, the less jobs there are, the more poor impoverished people there are, therefore, more crime. Its just a fact. Government needs to be smaller, and it needs to be smaller now.

      • DaveH

        Beberoni,
My father used to tell me that if we didn’t support them on welfare they would steal from us. I told him about the Brinks robbery which was commited by welfare recipients.
The truth is that by giving them easy money, they have more time to plot their crimes.

      • JC

They don’t have to kill us Dave…they just have to break us. And it seems like the White House is in on the plan doesn’t it?

  • Anne

William is right on the money. Think about it. Put the pieces together. William’s thinking is not insane at all.

Isn’t it just a little strange that all these “events” happen at a time when ‘they’ are trying to convince us we need all this “protection” and “security”.

We had all better wake up to what they are doing in our schools – what they are teaching our children. One thing distracts us from another. When there is a big event, we had better look at what else is going on.

I may be paranoid – but that doesn’t mean I’m wrong. In this world – you had better be paranoid. Sad, but true.

Massachusetts is about to vote (are there any real elections anymore?) in their next senator. Scott Brown said he can prevent this health-care fiasco from going through, all by himself. He always speaks of our Constitution and how we need to get back to living by it. He is conservative and can get this liberal state back to more conservative values and maybe other states would follow. Maybe it can be a start? I know he is not in favor of this hogwash at the airports.

Get these yahoos out of the U.S.A. and close our borders. The goons in government want them here. We are losing our country.

  • Tim

This entire administration is a reflection of the inexperience that everyone initially said about candidate Obama. We now have a 24/7 amateur show, that only reacts, then has to clarify what they said the day before, and the day before that. Combine the on-the-job-training antics of the administration along with the bumbling Reid/Pelosi shows, DC and the U.S. has become a joke to the rest of the world. Unfortunately, a lot of people will be killed and injured because of this, when Bin Laden and the boys finally pull one off.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

And you can bet while these guys are all collaborating around, trying to see how much crap they can pull to benefit themselves, the enemy is once again setting up shop to blow up something else. Its just like when Clinton was president. He didnt care about our security, just getting what ever he wanted, and while asleep at the wheel, the terrorists set up 9-11, undetected, and you can bet that this bunch is also asleep at the wheel, because getting their way and doing what they want to do is more important to any democrat, than it is to do what is right for the country. It happens everytime one of them is in power.

  • AnhydrousBob

Not only should we have private security, we need the government out of it completely. The airlines should be responsible for their own security. Their very reputation will be on the line – bad reputation means they will not be in business long. El Al has a great reputation for security (of course, they may be publicly subsidized, but that is NOT what I am advocating)

How easy is it to get something on the airplanes? I made several trips last year flying from small airports (which in my opinion tend to be more diligent and friendly) and the busiest airport in the world and only later discovered a small tube of toothpaste in my carry on I didn’t know was there – and neither did they.

    • denniso

Airlines can’t afford their own security, they’d only go broke that much faster..gov’t provided security is just another subsidy to keep the airlines in biz because it’s in the national interest to have an industry that is very important to our military capability. I guess the righties would like to do away w/ that gov’t subsidy too.

      • Michael J.

Denniso, That’s just another load of bovine excrement. Airlines are going under as a result of security regulations, inflated fuel prices from Obama’s upcoming cap and tax swindle and a few pamper top disgruntled middle easterners. Air lines could become much more efficient if allowed to handle their own security by subbing the work out to private security agencies.

  • TeresaE

What gets me the most is that all these additional rules, laws, regulations, indignities and utter bs, are being implemented WITHIN our borders.

Seems to me that all the attempts have been on flights originating OUTSIDE our borders.

Tell me again how losing more of my Constitutional freedoms is making me safe?

Deflect, pretend and extend. This is what our country has been reduced to. Until the next event.

    • DaveH

I agree TeresaE. It is all an illusion to placate the masses. The only positive thing about the way they are trampling our Constitution is that I don’t really care anymore if I live or die.

We have gone from a Nation of Rugged Pioneers to a Nation of Crybabies in just a little over 200 years.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I believe this is a result, of those in power, thinking too highly of themselves, and think they are both better than us, and better than those that first drafted the constitution. Whereas those that drafted the United States Constitution, had meetings and gathered their minds to draft something that would be of benefit to all of us, to keep us on the right track. Then those today, they think of themselves as the ones who should tell us what is and what isnt, and what to do and what not to do, to benefit themselves solely. Its not supposed to be that way. This “me-ism” is killing us.

  • Farmer

Human Events magazine, a weekly conservative publication, has named former Vice President Dick Cheney ‘Conservative of the Year’.

    Can you believe it?!?

He’s been pushing more and more of this type of “security”.

    He’s endorsing his daughter’s extremely anti-social lifestyle…

And is the conservative of the year… named by Human Events… isn’t this publication dominated by “conservative” whore Ann Coulter and the likes?

    • Norm

      Farmer
Of all people in government, regardless of party, I truely believe that Dick Cheney is the worst. The man is evil, self serving, paranoid, cowardly, and a traitor to the United States.

      • Warrior

Your desciption fits Obama to a tee! How do you explain that.

      • Norm

I can’t explain it because its BS. Can you?

      • denniso

The phrase I remember from rightwingers here is ‘feeding at the public trough’…does that apply to Cheny for most of his life or maybe not, because he’s a repub???

I believe he has served this country in a far more positive way than you will ever serve it Norm, so your opinion is that, just your opinion, and it doesnt hold much water with those of us that are educated. Thank you very much sir, have a good day.

      • Norm

        Beberoni
And your opinion is yours. What education are you referring to? Hate radio and fux news?

      • Claire

Poissibly Cheney is going to throw his hat in the ring for the Presidency?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

While Dick Cheny has served the public and kept us safe along with George W. Bush, while constantly being under left wing liberal media scrutiny, you have sat there, with all your skeletons still in your closet, spewing your opinion all over. Its not my opinion, or Fox News. Have you been safe or not? I have. Now that will end in another year or so, as these jackasses running the show are sleeping at the helm, just as their predecessor hero Bill Clinton did, and the terrorists will again set up shop. Under Bush though pal, seriously, homeland security was on the ball. Your democratic liberals have forgotten about 9-11, infact, they have forgotten so much, that they insist on giving lawyers to these new terrorists that have gotten caught trying to kill us. They release them, then catch them again. How stupid can they be? They will cause another stike to happen, and good luck blaming that on Bush/Cheney. You need to wake up Norm.

      • Norm

        Beberoni
It seems to me that the “shoe bomber” and 9/11 occurred under the watchful eyes of Bush/Cheney.
Because no major attacks occurred (other than the above) does not prove very much. An outbreak of the black plague also did not occur. Did Cheney prevent it. Your logic is flawed. Are we more or less safe under Obama? I’d guess it’s probably about the same since not much has changed in that area.

For a rightwinger, who hates all government intervention, I’m very surprised you would want more big brother protection, and would endorse suspension of civil liberties as a guise to save your butt.

The draft dodger Cheney and his friends at Haliburton made a small fortune in taxpayer money in their no-bid “secret” contracts. Also, revealing the name of a CIA operative is an act of treason. Constantly harrassing and abusing a sitting president in time of war(war by Cheney’s own definition) falls into the area of aiding and abetting an enemy of the US. The man is an insult to all this country stands for.

      • Claire

        I meant “possibly.” !!!!!1

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Cheney is too old to run Claire, you know that. And America is sick of career politicians, as many of them are going out on their ear these next two elections in 2010 and 2012, and rightfully so. But what a credit he is next to the VP we have now. Joe Biden? Come on man, has there ever in the history of this land, be a more laughable guy holding that office? Unbelievable.

      • Claire

A vast majority of them are too old. I can’t for the life of me think of any totally honest politician that will be running this year or in 2012. Once they get in office, watch how fast they become like all the rest of them. Watch how fast they cave in to the lobbyists, to the insurance companies, to the pharmaceutical companies, to the banks, to the big corporations, to Wall Street. All for the sake of campaign money. Some things never change. I am going to walk the middle of the road, however, I think a third party is in order. A good, solid, stable, and known person must run for the third party. If we all are so disgruntled with the Dems and the Repubs, why not vote for a third party? That would be an eye opener. This could very well be the way to go.

      • Norm

        Claire
Check Cheney’s popularity poll numbers. They’re less than 25% and some blue states in the single digits. He coulden’t get elected dog catcher.

      • Claire

Norm–I wouldn’t want him to be dogcatcher. I just want him to go away.

      • denniso

Cheny is a control freak and he can’t give it up, that’s why he’s still screeching and preaching fear…he won’t even be alive in 3 yrs, let alone run for prez.

BeBE: Pray reveal the secret. How can one serve when they are so busy hopping to stay ahead of the draft? Jr and Cheney had it down to a perfect pattern. When the dogs got close they went on the campaign trail that daddy’s and his friends money put into place to hide there whereabouts. Maybe they hid out in the casket whenever the baskerville hounds got to close ehh.?

Within 6 months we will be giving the airlines bailouts. This scheme of information sharing between government agencies is on ongoing nightmare. Place airport security under FBI or NSA only.

  • DaveH

I want to say, on this issue, I don’t blame Obama. No man can provide complete safety to our citizens. They can’t even stop prisoners from making weapons and killing other prisoners. How could they possibly stop determined killers in Society (even in a heavily suppressed society)?
It has been well documented that the countries with the best economies have the least crime. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why. So, impoverishing our country with ever-increasing regulations and laws is not the answer.
As one of our Founders said, “people willing to trade their freedom for security will get neither”.

What in the heck are you talking about Michael? I didn’t say a thing about Bush or Katrina.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Where did this rant of his come from? I dont get it?

      • denniso

Airplanes are inherently vulnerable to attack..so complex and essentially fragile. Despite their good safety record, if a terrorist wants to die in a plane explosion, there are so many ways to accomplish it, it’s not funny.I’m more than amazed that there haven’t been more attempts and successes. I think one thing the low number of attempts illustrates is that the terrorist threat is overblown, as it often was under Bush for political reasons.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Dave never said anything about Bush and Katrina, at least its not on the threads Im reading here. As far as the left goes, they are a clueless lot who cares about nothing but satisfying their own bloodthirst for wealth and power. Those that vote for them, are uneducated and dont know this.

Michael: Bush could not have stopped anything, but just maybe if he had been willing to listen he just maybe have helped it to not be so devestating on such a large scale and when the sunomie did hit maybe if he had acted a little faster it might not have been so devestating to so many in such a short time. Even the house trailers they delivered to the scenes were so laced with formaldahide it was killing people and making many sick. Did anyone place any value on even one life?? Me thinks not. Oh the price that will be payed.

DeeD, this is really starting to get off subject but since you brought it up, why did the “Liar, liar pants on fire” media gloss over the fact that the first responders, the mayor of N.O. and the Gov. of L.A.who completely dropped the ball by not preparing for the eminate disaster were both Democrats. For example, the mayor had access to hundreds of school buses which could have been utilized to evacuate people to safety. His lame excuse was a lack of qualified drivers. Typical liberal response now that i think of it though. It’s a wonder he didn’t bow to the hurricane or offer it a bribe.

One can’t help but think none of our so called representatives gives one red rats tail for the well being of their constintetuens. That is due to deregulaions. That is not only the Manufactured homes, but food industries as well. They take Chromium, trace minerals and natural nutrients out of the soil. They while back found unsafe levals of mercury and other heavy metals in the fields our farmers used to plant their crops. They spray these fields with poisonous pestisides that are illegal in Europe. When the produce reaches its destination, they start putting preservatives and dangerous chemicals into our foods. These are link to Type 2 diabetes, certain types of Cancer, autism, early alzheimers and other mental disorders.A woman that cleans our house, said she and her husband went to Mexico and his sugar drop down so fast after eating and taking his medication. He was a type 2 diabetic.I do believe its the food we eat.Its unsafe and can cause alot of health probllems.I lay all of this on the shoulders of Ronald Reagan,GeorgeSr,George BushJr and Dick Chaney. They are champions of deregulation of the food industries. Here are the chemicals or preservatives found in our foods.

Here are some of the ingredients

        1:Aluminum compounds
        2:arsenic
        3:artificial colors and flavors
        4: artificial sweetners
        5: over processed foods

In concentrations these chemicals can harmful or deadly.

Coal Minor: There was a young school girl who decided to conduct a test for science. She setup two plants side by side. She fed one plant water straight from the faucet and she boiled the water for the second plant in the microwave oven – allowing it to cool before watering her plant. After 2 weeks the plant watered with tap water was growing strong and healthy and the other plant was kind of in limbo. Not much growth nor improvement. They came to the conclusion the radar waves from the microwave oven was killing all nutrients in the water and was not assisting in the growth process. Moral : All in the name of progress does not mean we are progressing. There just is no replacement for common sense, is there? Try this at home folks and see if results are the same>

Gee Dee, like maybe if Mayor Ray Nagin would have mobilized all those buses that he was told to get going, a lot of people could have got out and been saved, and someone you all blame that on Bush. Do you not think that these local politicians, who are right there, are elected by the people to SERVE them, could have for one minute been an adult and mobilized and done something? Why should George Bush have to come and wipe their butt for them? It was time for Mayor Nagin and Mary Landrieu and the rest of them to step up and get it done, but they did nothing, but stand there on their high perch, and call Bush a racist and blame him. Let me tell you something, I was down there on missions 3 times. I was there right after it happened. I watched the TV coverage. There wasnt a whole lot anybody could do at first, since all these people either didnt want to leave and got stuck in harms way, or Mayor Nagin’s inability to be a leader and get those buses running and pick these people up and get them out of there, but until the water went down, there was nothing to be done. I mean what are you gonna do against water 10 feet deep? You cant just push it back, youve got to wait until it drains. I really dont know what else you expected Bush, or anyone else to do? You cant fight mother nature, you just try to survive it.

      • libertytrain

Dee is perhaps not aware that the President couldn’t just send aid without the Governor first requesting it – (something to do with the Constitution – huh?) The democratic Governor, when asked if she wanted Fed. Assistance by President Bush – said “not today” – then when the whole thing really exploded the next day – when the water wasn’t holding and the city was flooding and people were dying – She then thought perhaps she ought to ask for help. But who got blamed? President Bush – not the idiotic Governor that turned down Federal Assistance – and that ridiculous Mayor should have been tarred and feathered for the unbelievable failure to use all those buses since many or most of his citizens didn’t have the luxury of cars to escape the city. The Governor as well as the Mayor were just two shining examples of stupid, egotistical politicians.

DaveH and Beberoni, For a couple of smart guys, this one went right over your head. Dave you started your comment with”I don’t blame Obama for this”. Well you are certainly a lot more generous than the lefties who blaimed Bush for everything including hurricanes. And those who sought to have a Senator censured for calling Obama a liar said nothing when Time magazine did a cover which claimed the same thing about Bush. So go ahead, let Obama off the hook for this if you like but I will not. After cutting the legs out from under the CIA by placing his lapdog Penetta as boss and now having them do Global Warming research just to keep them busy and out of his way. Then installing a governor with no security experience as head of homeland security and probably many more reasons that don’t come to mind at the moment, yes, I beleive he is to blame as he has admitted himself for this and the other two events which have happened in the last six months.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Yes sir, it did indeed go right over my head. And on that global warming thing, it just dumped like 2 feet of snow on the upper P.I. in Michigan, and 8 inches here in Northern Indiana. We all need to go buy some Hummers and Escalades, and fire those suckers up, and burn a big hole in the ozone and warm this sucker up down here. This damn global warming is making it colder all the time. The stinking ice caps are getting bigger, the planet has cooled since the 70′s, and this global warming is making me freeze. It was only 8 degree’s here last night.

        Beberoni,

This is totally off the topic, but in reference to your “Global Warming” statement. I’m in SE Tennessee & it was 10 degrees here last night. It’s been below freezing here for over a week, Only had about an inch of snow on Friday even tho it snowed all day, but it was so cold & dry it evaporated before it reached the ground. The past several years have been comfortable even in July & Aug. When I was growing up, we saw lots of days over 100 in both months. For several years, August has been like September used to be. I’m sure that’s a real disappointment to the biggest embarrassment to my state (as I said in another comment), Al the-Earth’s-temperature-is-a-million-degrees Gore! Stay warm!

      • denniso

Dave and I agree…the president can and should set workable policies to deal w/ threats and take a comprehensive view of a complex problem. Terrorism is never solved by force alone..but if a president is taking reasonable steps to deal w/ it, then he/she can’t be blamed for a determined extremist, foreign or not.

      • Michael J.

DaveH, What’s it going to take, a fourth or fifth attack by Muslim terrorist? Obama himself said “The Buck Stops Here”. Why should Obama get a pass from the LSM when he freely admits responsibilty? The same LSM blamed Bush for hurricanes! Now I ask you, Can a president stop or deter a Hurricane. I think not. It would be like trying to stop an asteroid with a B-B gun.

      • DaveH

        Michael,
I don’t care if it’s Bush, Obama, Clinton, or whoever else. They can’t stop determined killers. How many times do these people have to slip through the cracks before Americans wake up to that fact?
And the one thing that can possibly save our lives (self-protection) is constantly under attack by people from both parties, although for sure it’s mostly Democrats.

      • DaveH

The best defense is a good offense. For instance, upon determining that Afghanistan was training the 9/11 perps, we should have gone in there and killed 3 times as many of them as they took in the towers attack. And then get out. We wouldn’t have to do that too many times before they got the message and left us alone.
When we do catch them, what do we do? Nothing much more than a long-time dog and pony show. For instance, I agree with many that the underwear bomber should be tried in a fair trial. But once convicted, we should first extract any information about who helped him, and then execute him immediately after.

I think Napolitano should be fired. Isn’t she the one who claimed that returning military, Christians, protestors against outrageous policies be considered terrorists? She is the one that said the system worked. The government is making us unsafe and all those left wing lawsuit crazed maniacs that help contribute to this ridiculous system in place.

I’ve noticed that there are front men testing on every airline – can they get through, how far can they push things while on flights, like staying in bathrooms, claiming stomach aches, using their cell phones well have requested to turn them off. I’ve seen it first hand on each flight I’ve been on lately. A group of garbed middle-eastern men stood by the bathroom on a flight bound for London from Chicago while claiming one of their party had a stomach ache. I’ve seen it first hand when on a recent flight a middle-eastern man stayed on his cell phone after being requested by the flight attendant to turn it off. It wasn’t until another passenger turned around and commanded that he comply that he listened. If this isn’t testing our system of inadequacies, I don’t know what is. They are scoping it out at every turn. If we want to be safe, our government better catch on that we are being infiltrated on every flight and tested and evaluated in every way!

The Republican party also owns and operates schools of journalism throughout all of America. Very little investigative journalism going on. So now the big question——- WHO CONTROLS THE NEWS? What news??
Would propaganda be a more fitting word? We hear only what they want us to hear and we fall for it – hook – line and sinker. Yep – One born every minute.

This is why the TSA should have never been created and like bush wanted it should have been private security firms that handled the security.

Private firms would actually screen and hire qualified people and train them. No private firm would want to be responsible for allowing something like this to happen. They would go out of business if they left a terrorist on a plane and people died.

But no democrats pushed to federalize the whole system insuring another giant federal spending program that is unionized like all federal agencies.

I guarantee that if private firms were handling security that no terrorist would be able to recreate the entire chain of events that this guy pulled off, and just walk onto a plane.

I also wonder if we are back to the clinton era where the cia and fbi and nsa were ordered that they could not share information period. A order that greatly aided terrorists to get into this country. We are surely back to the clinton era where we want to treat terrorists and foreign combatants as common criminals, and disasterous decision that revealed our intelligence gathering methods to bin laden and pals and let them drop off the radar.

    • http://mi_goe@yahoogroups.com NamFrank

The habitual turf wars and refusal to equitably share agency intelligence was the very reason for forming the Dept of Homeland (In)Security and having “Janet-from-another-Planet” to head it. Her PUBLIC ignorance of her own agency (“the system worked”) speaks VOLUMES about how efficient this highly expensive, totally ineffectual government boondoggle is. Years down the road, billions of dollars later and inestimatable amounts of humiliation heaped upon it’s own citizens and we’re at the same place we were on 09/10/01!
You’ll also notice AG “Bro Holder” had this son of a millionaire banker “lawyered up” (at the American taxpayer’s expense, of course!) shortly after his apprehension! We can’t have an illegal combatant actually convicted of terrorism before we give the FOREIGNER American constitutional rights and avail him an opprotunity to expose our terrorism prevention sectrets! Way to go, Bro Holder and BS!!!

Sorry, I got off the subject but I am so aggravated.

      • jim

Hi Claire, I don’t agree on how the money was spent, but I might as well go for a bike ride this spring, so it won’t all be for nothing.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Question is, which brother-in-law of the politician involved benefitted and made the money paving these trails. Thats how they work it in Illinois, the mob capital of the world.

      • Claire

I hate to admit it, but you are correct in what you say. It is a pathetic mess.

  • StargazerInSavannah

I anticipate that the president will soon find it convenient to name one of the GITMO detainees from Yemen to be the new head of TSA. While announcing the appointment, he will be able to laud the intimate knowledge the appointee has with Jihad. The appointee can help train Brennan and Janet Incompetana in targeting techniques for Overseas Contingency Operations.
The administration will be able to substantially reduce carbon emissions by integrating Jihad into the TSA operation. I trust that new TSA employees will wear purple underwear with crotch pockets while undergoing training.

    • Michael J.

Right, and when Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has been cleared of all charges by Eric Holder, he will likely become the new spokesperson for Fruit of the Loom.

  • Robert

Muslim Islamic Killers (I no longer use the term ‘terrorist’) by far kill more Muslims than they do Westerners

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Which proves how sick they are.

      • Claire

Yeah, Islams kill Muslims and vice versa. Sick is the word for it.

    • http://N/A James

Well that’s not surprising. During WWI, more American citizens were killed at home, than soldiers in France. The same percentages held true during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.
American civilian stupidity and the automobine is more dangerous than
any shooting enemy we have ever faced.

  • http://victorbarney@embarqmail.com Victor L Barney

I agree with the former head of American Airlines when he said that you want to have a “knowledgeable Airlines person” in charge of Airline Security, not another government idiot without any experience!

The White House still is not serious in fighting Jacob’s half-brother in this terrorism war! One would think that our President was raised in Islam until about age 13 years old or so! I will not mention that about 97 1/2 % of all faiths are in cement by age 13 years old! Oops!

  • Mr. R

    Thanks Chip

it would be nice to see a type of “X” prize on infrastructures like these
there is so much potential of ideas outside of the political boxes
    :)

  • William

You assume that this incident was a real event; did you ever think it was planned so as to scare the people and reinforce the need for more repressive, controlling rules and such extreme measures as The Patriot Act? Do you believe in any of the “false flag” events, or do you believe most of what the government tells us?

    • Robin from Indiana

William…. Are you serious???? I don’t believe a lot of what the government says, but to say this was planned by someone within our own government for the purpose of regulating our lives even more than they do is insane!

We need to get rid of those who think ‘politically correct’ and focus on profiling those who seek to do harm. If I were a farmer and my animals were being killed by another animal, I wouldn’t sit and watch to see what the cats or ducks were doing. I would turn my attention to what would be the most likely to attack and kill my animals. It doesn’t take a giant brain to figure that out!

      • Norm

        Robin from Indiana
        Amen.
Ever since 9/11 we have been wasteing resources on the wrong things.
Has spending nearly a trillion dollars (of borrowed money) in Iraq and Afghanastan made us any safer? If a fraction of that amount was used to increase our intel capabilities and to exercise “surgical” strikes where needed we would be far better off than we now are. The underwear bomber should been identified and descreetly killed before he ever got near a plane.
This notion the the Iraq war is a done deal is nonsense. We still have over 100K military and God knows how many contractors on the ground. Too boot, Iraq was never the problem!

As far as increased security at airports, I’m for whatever works. If it takes body scans – I’m for it. If you are are so ashamed of the body that God gave you, that you would rather risk death than be inspected, I feel very sorry for you. Stay away from airports and hospitals as well.

      • American Citizen

I think everyone is forgetting that the underwear bomber boarded the plane in a foreign country where we have no say as to who gets on the plane. All those European countries need to get on board and realize they also are in danger from the extremists. They, too, are reacting to events instead of being proactive. Also, countries need to share those watch lists and pay attention to them. The only thing is, they don’t even have to get on the plane. They could just put a bag containing a bomb on a cart that’s going on the plane. There are ways of concealing a bomb or of making a kind of bomb that won’t be detected by those machines. You won’t find me flying anywhere. Got no reason to.

      • American Citizen

As for those scanners, I’m with you. They say they don’t show a clear outline of body parts anyway. I you have to go to the hospital as a patient, say goodbye to privacy. They own your body as you’ve turned it over to them. But you are usually feeling so bad, you don’t care anyway.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

For once Norm, I agree with you about airport screening. So what if someone sees my body in a computerized image. Big deal. If its going to keep my plane from getting blown up, its a great thing. However, I remember reading your posts totally lambasting Bush and Cheny about the war thing, you know, all the spending and such on it. But now that Obama is escalating it, and not responding to direction requests from the generals, why dont I hear you lambasting the democrats as war mongers and running an illegal war like you did when you were pointing the finger at Bush? Whats up with that? Im just wondering.

      • JimBob

FYI, not only don’t you spell it right, you don’t know what a warmonger is. A warmonger is somebody who is eager for war or tries to start a war. Look it up!

Obama is cleaning after the ignorant warmonger who preceded him as president. Bush the Ignorant started the war in Afghanistan and didn’t finish it. Instead he ran off to Iraq to settle a score for his daddy. Knowing that the Republicans had no chance of winning the 2008 election, he ignored Afghanistan intentionally to leave a big mess for the Democrats to clean up. Do you get it now?

Contrary to the dumb statement that you made, Obama IS escalating the war in Afghanistan following “direction requests” (whatever that means) from the generals. With you radicals on the right, Obama can’t win! You only have one agenda, and that is to tear down this country that was made great by presidents like Jefferson, Madison, Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, Clinton and now Obama, who were/are members of the only respectable American political party, the Democrat Party, the “party of the common man.”

      • David

JimBob, you are a nut. Have another shot, it’s Friday. Your president and his little friends are doing their best to crush our economy. Yes we spent too much on the war but he has nothing to even show for the trillions he is spending! Please don’t tell obama what comes after trillion!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

To Billy Jim Bob: Hey Bub, warmonger or war monger. Does it really matter? But to clarify the point you are trying to make. Bill Clinton stood on TV and said Saddam Hussein has weapons of mass destruction and has to be stopped. John Kerry stood on TV and said it, as did Howard Dean, as did Hillary Clinton, as did Ted Kennedy, and many many more of your left wing heroes. They even did it before Bush was a president. So they all vote to go to war, and here comes you, like it was Bush’s idea and his idea alone. Do you know how stupid that makes you sound? I mean they cried that Saddam Hussein had to be stopped before Bush was even a candidate for President. Maybe instead of pointing out that war monger or warmonger makes a difference, you should first learn the facts before you open your mouth and insert your foot. You are a typical liberal. You let your alligator mouth get in front of your butterfly ass.

      • cr747

JimBob, you are a completely off you rocker. I happen to be a democrat, and as I have said many times before, I DID NOT VOTE FOR A SINGLE DEMOCRAT THAT IS IN OFFICE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!! Also I will not vote for the idiots that are running our country down the drain, and starving our elderly by not giving them their cost of living raise the first time in over 30 years. Thanks to all the ones, and the so called president in Washington; They said,”and I quote,” 2008 resulted in a 5.8 percent increase for benefits in 2009,”thanks to Bush,”-the largest since 1982. This year, however, the Bureau of Labor Statistics has reported a significant decrease in the cost of many goods and services,’quote”. But it is funny to me that out GOVERNMENT can vote them selves a raise, but cannot give our elderly a COLA raise.
I do know for a fact that the cost of medication increased in 2009, and they tell the elderly sorry, no COST OF LIVING RAISE. BS.
Our seniors are having to decide over medication or food!!!!!! What a damn shame. I am reading this from a letter received by an elderly person, that was sent to them by their senator from Washington, UNITED STATES SENATE.
You want to stand there with the audacity to say the DEMOCRATS that are running the GOVERNMENT in Washington need to be applauded!!!!!!!! Please, Give The Seniors A Break!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Norm

I don’t like the wars any more now than I did under Bush/Cheney. The problem is it’s easier to start a war than it is to end one.
The myth that all is well in Iraq is favorite mantra of the neocons. I believe the corrupt government in Bagdad will fall within six months of US departure. What will replace it is probably going to be a Sheite Muslim religious dictatership.

      • denniso

Yes, another lovely and lasting gift from the recently departed Bush/Cheny team, 2 unfinished wars, one that should have never been started. How is it that the genius chickenhawk Cheny couldn’t focus on Afghanistan and finish it after 7 yrs?? Yep, perpetual war. If we leave and it goes to holy hell then Obama gets the blame..no win at this point.

      • DaveH

At last there’s something I can agree with you about Norm.

All that is except your last paragraph. The body scanners probably wouldn’t have detected the explosives anyway. See this video:
        http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=9439628

Many people do care about a bunch of ATA officers ogling their body parts.

      • http://N/A James

Something caught my eye on the Intenet today. Someone suggested that
we should develop a “Body Scanner Booth” that would, rather than detect explosives on a body, set the explosives off while contained within the booth, causing no damage to material or personnel other than the terrorist him/her self.

        Personally, I think it’s a great idea. . . . . .

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

AMEN to that Norm. We really do weld a lot of power if we would only learn to work together toward a commom goal to benefit all.

      • Earlw

Robin, hate to rain on someone’s parade, but just for the record, the NSA, CIA, and other such Intel agencies such as Britain’s MI5 knew about this guy for THREE years, yet didn’t put him on a no fly list EVEN after His father, a well known banker said the felt that his son was falling in with a bad crowd, and was attending terrorist meeting, etc. If that isn’t a reason to question a false flag or conspiracy by elements within gov’t., I don’t know what is!

    • Michael J.

I don’t buy the false flag theory, perpatratated by the Obama camp anyway. They would have used a white G.I. who recently completed a tour of duty. Not a black guy who is Muslim. The negative implications for Obama should be obvious.

    • American Citizen

William, tell that to the guy hospitalized with serious burns. I don’t feel sorry for him as he brought the pain on himself. I just had an oven burn on my hand a little while back an it hurt for days.

    • Raggs

      William…

I thougth I was the only one who may have that idea.
Yes a planned oredeal to make the obama admin look good without even lifting a finger.
Or it may be also to impliment the chipset into everyone, a good excuse for doing just that.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Raggs: Or just maybe an internal enemy trying their best to prove to the people that Obama is infallable and will fail. He is no magician and cannot be everywhere at the same time. He needs to select more reliable and honest and decent people to watch his back.

    • JC

Absolutely. It has all the hallmarks of a false flag operation. And just look how quick and prepared they were to deal with new security measures…you know, for our own good. Step out of line Kamrade, what is the nature of your trip?…walk through the X-Ray machine…are your papers in order?…..Nazi’s!

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Jc: Walk out of line right into the ovens.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

William : I assume nothing. This was a last straw grab to continue controlling the masses. They saw their power losing speed and like Adolph pulled some shady manuvers to try to hang on to what little power they had left. It back fired. Keep the zombies ignorant and repeat the propaganda often enough and there will always be a few who will hang tight and pass the propaganda along.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

William: Winston thurchhill says there is nothing to fear but fear itself. Pick yourself up shake your self off and have at it. First use your brains and become methodical in your way of thinking, keep things peaceful and you just may be surprised at the smart peaceful avenues there is to travel to accomplish and get a lot accomplished. When you get angry you have already lost the battle. BE SMART.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

William: No I do not care to think the people were ever in fear. I feel they were angry that the ones who thought they were so powerful they could just keep on shovibg their way to the front of the line and play little dictator for a little longer. Which they did and were defeated for their little folly in the most bitter and hateful way. To even begin to fatham an intelligent BLACK man upstaged them all. Oh the shame of it all. Now they can’t hide behind the KKK moniker any longer. It’s all out in the open BUBBA”S. Slik back under you rocks – your day has come and gone. And you ship has sunk.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Sorry to inform you, but an intelligent black man didnt upstage them all as you say. A political party, paid millions upon million of dollars to advertise change change change on the brain sucker in peoples living rooms, and all these millions who do nothing but watch the brain sucker all day, got bamboozed and went and voted for this Obama guy they kept putting on the brain sucker, crying out over and over and over, change, change, change. They hood winked the uneducated, the young and the restless, and bought an election with marketing. But the problem is, now that they are there, holy crap man, what a mess of things they have made, and it keeps getting worse, and they keep blaming it on someone else. And he isnt a black man, he is half white, half black, that makes him a mulotto.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

JC ; My mother was a subststute teacher in a one room school house in Thorn Hill Tenn around the 1900,s I have two daughters who are now school teachers. Teachers get blamed for everything the parents the student do or do not do and throw the administration in for good mix who do nothing but delegate their responsibility to all there many substutes to do all the the work for them. All the parents are good for is to keep funneling the unconstituential property tax money into the system for the administration to unaccountably waste on everything except what it was intended to be used for. Does anyone realize how much money schools make at sport gate receipts, rentals of the stages for plays, rentals of roomd for various activities? I doubt very much many parents take any action what-so- ever to even try to learn anything about what is truly taking place in their community – let alone getting involved to correct some wrongs. I doubt many parents will ever be willing to admit they may have on a few occasions dipped into the school resources themselves and did not consider it a theft.

  • http://personallibertty.com sam

blaming presidents is like blaming kings, which should be practically meaningless in this country; we should first be blaming ourselves for not better-monitoring and then not voting out, our local as well as national representatives for failing to work on what they were voted to do and for politicing instead of being statesmen – politics originated as various verbs, not nouns with their private agendas.

    • Robert

That sounds good, but the leaders we have now are voted in by a massive collection of ignorant, entitlement trained minorities who now collectively are now no longer a minority. They do not think in terms of fiscal, moral, or long term financial responsibility. They have been taught by the Democrat Party that big government fueled by spend and tax mindsets will ‘take care of them’. Unless this mindset and Democrat Party perversion is countered in the next elections, this country is headed for a Zimbabwe status.

      • DaveH

        Robert,
We need to do something about the propaganda schools. Also, we need to get the Federal Government out of the education business.
We need to get rid of the Department of Education; and we need to institute the Voucher system at the local levels so parents can send their kids to schools where they will be educated rather than politicized by the Unionized Teachers.

      • denniso

WHAT are you 2 smoking or drinking?? You’re blaming the dept of ed and democrats for terrorists trying to kill us??you both are really off the edge now..what idiocy you’re spouting!!! 9/11 happened under Bush, screening and the patriot act started under Bush and you want to blame dems for the mess?? It’s not either party’s fault that terrorists are out there, though we could look at specific foreign policy issues over the past 60 yrs for hints about the problem. You guys are really coming off as true nutcases now..but, keep it up and lose any shred of credibility you may have had.

      • American Citizen

The Department of Education in DC is redundant, a totally unnecessary expense. Local Boards of Education know what’s necessary for the students to learn in order to obtain jobs. Here in Indiana they are talking about letting CEO’s of business look at curriculum. Look at we elders who came up with/invented so many things that make life easier these days. There was no Education Dept. in DC back then.

      • DaveH

No, Dumniso, you are the one coming off as the nutcase. Ignorant too. Totalitarian countries throughout the world have used the education system as their tool to propagandize the masses.

      • DaveH

        And Dumniso,
The Saul Alinsky tactics you use only work on Ignorant people like yourself. You’re wasting your time trying to manipulate me with your childish name-calling and ridicule.

      • Earlw

Au contraire, Mon Ami! It is exactly BOTH parties, and their presidents that cause these kinds of terrorists action..You first have to look back at 100 years of history, then start connecting terrorist actions with Government and corporate actions over that time.. No one wants to incur the wrath of another country unless they have been slighted first. Our country has been involved in military actions over that space of time in nearly EVERY COUNTRY on this planet. I don’t know who started the 72 virgins business, but it does seem a bit ridiculous, if not impossible. Stupid is as stupid does, as Gump’s mama said. Most of the time, we went in to defend/enable/colonize/etc., the countries we invaded. Please read some history before saying they hate us just for who we are. We are NOT innocent victims. And lest I be accused of being anti-Semitic, Israel has been the recipient of massive amounts of aid and materiel over the decades, which was used against various countries, including Palestine. supporting a country’s enemies is a reason to retaliate, at least to them. If America wants to stop terrorism, It might start by removing ourselves from approximately 170 countries around the globe and as Teddy Roosevelt said, speak softly and carry a Big STICK!! We cannot afford to and should not be the world’s policemen….

      • JC

        Denniso
As always you just don’t have a clue. Its not about blaming “liberals”. Its just that it sure seems to be the “liberals” who are most easily lead by the nose down a very unAmerican path. And if you don’t think there is an agenda of dumbing down and retraining the nations youth to comply to big government, you’re just not paying attention…at all!

      • jim

Hi Denniso, Bush was in office for less than 9 months when 911 happened and the terrorists that hijacked the planes were in this country for 14 months before it happened. Clinton was in charge then. I wonder what he did to make them so mad?

      • denniso

SO, DaveH…Let’s follow your ‘logic’ here. Since totalitarian countries use the education system to indoctrinate their kids, then no countries should have education systems. Wow, so since evil minded countries use guns to inflict damage on and control their people, then no country should have guns?? Evil countries use television and newspapers to spread their propoganda, then we shouldn’t have those either? What can we have and not be evil??

      • JC

One exterme to the other denniso? That’s normal for you.
How about this, all of those entities you mention, schools, television etc., are only evil when the governments in question are involved. Get the government out of those things and make them accountable…I know, I might as well be talking about blowing up the planet right? What a completely horrifying thought for a statist sheep such as yourself.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

The CEO’s are the worst possible choices to do anything to help Main Street Americans. THEY all get payed the big buck to sit on their worthless duff to dream of ways to take away and skinn the little man making the profits for their stock portfolios and contributors. How many of you are aware that the big three own stock in pornography – house loans – insurance policies on autos – life insuranc policies on workers whom they hope will die so their ayres will receive none of the benefits the policy pays? They do need to be investigated in depth to see they declared all their earnings before they received the stimulus package from the tax payers. I personally would like to see theie sweat shop labors purchase their bounty and keep it all out of our country myself. POETIC JUSTICE FOR THE LITTLE MAN HERE IN THE STATES – And believe me – We will come back and rebuild this great country before all our intelligent builders has crossed over. Come forward children – you still have a lot to learn. You can do it just like your forefathers before you.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

They have done a real good job with our school systems, havent they? Every year its up property taxes to pay for more and more that they continually pay for the schools, yet the education continues to decline. It seems the curriculum they continue to teach, is that which teaches kids to be a school teacher, and nothing else. They are changing the history books to read the way they want them to read, with a total disregard for actual history. They have kicked God out of the schools, and have removed all discipline, where I know for a fact, most of the teachers are now afraid of their students, and there is no respect for the teachers because of this lack of discipline. Of course, most of this comes from the breakdown of the family, and no parent at home to properly raise these kids. We have kids having kids, and our liberal philosophy that caused this, continues to promote it by instead of teaching them to abstain, they tell them to use a rubber and have fun. Its a liberal think tank mess, thats all it is.

      • DaveH

18 years ago my daughter told me that her Political Science teacher lectured that the 2nd Amendment was an obsolete Amendment which didn’t apply anymore. And he said the 4th Amendment didn’t stop police from stopping people randomly to search their car. I told her that the teacher was wrong, and of course she said the teacher would know more than I on Political Science. Ironically, just a year later, the Supreme Court reaffirmed that indeed police couldn’t just search cars randomly.
There is definitely misinformation being taught to our kids in the public schools.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Amen to that brother. They teach what the liberal think tank says, not necessarily what is reality. Most times, the two are two different entities indeed.

      • http://N/A James

Beberoni, your response at this point is the most intelligent, well thought out posting I have read in this entire mess.
I was a career military man as was my grandfather, father, and more lately my son. With thirty years worth of experience I am willing to say that I doubt seriously there are more than perhaps one or two
posting here that were in the service of their country, or have any
idea about what the military is, or does. The ones here who were so cheerfully degrading our countries military sound so much like that
draft dodging, card burning, bunch of traitors that we had to contend with during Vietnam. Anyhow, I am proud to see that there are those like you who actually know what they are talking about.

Robert: Have you ever taught inside a classroom? Have you ever had to deal with 30 different personalities housed in one room for a couple of hours? Until you have, how can you have such an unbiased honest opinion on a subject you know nothing about? Also , teachers payed a lot to get an education to teach but their hands have been tied and bound. The trend now is to prepare each student to pass the state tests that will funnell the big bucks into the system. Yep, money has replaced education.

      • denniso

The push toward more testing was done by Bush..unfortunately Kennedy went along because he thought it meant that schools would get more funding, which didn’t happen. They are teaching way too much just for the testing.

While the NCLB could have been very productive had it been implemented in a proper manner – but alas it was not. when the beautiful slow special people were thrown into the main stream and have to compete with some of the brightest students , that placed 2 strikes against the little guys from the git go. 1st they could not hope to catch up – therefore they fell through the crack on the first go round. Then Jr Had the adascity to bribe Armstrong Williams to toute and sell it to his audience with our tax dollars and no one but a hand full got angry
Why are we so complacent that we sit back and allow the dirt bags lead us around by the scuff of the neck and we follow like the obedient little curs we are forced to become? We are much smarter tham
n they are.. and for the most part we really do use our brains in a positive manner. It’s up to us to show them that. WE do not need to fear them. They are our employees and we have the right to fire and replace them. Lets have at it.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Come on denniso. If Kennedy had things his way, in his ideal of how things should be, the teachers would have a wet bar in their lounge, and have a couple of martini’s before each class, and give the kiddies a beer at lunch so they could reach Ted’s level of thinking.

      • denniso

Beb…your childish and foolish comment deserves NO responce..

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Dave ; The voucher system will only enable the private schools to shove all the politics down young impressionable throats as the same set of rules do not infrenge in the private sector. Gearge/Cheney knew very well what the NCLB would accomplish – namely taking the power out of the teachers hands so the state can move in ‘confiscate our children., house them through the week ,sent them to mama and papa on weekends. Take them back Sun evening to start again.
Doesn’t that seem to be the way Adolph started out??? Think long and hard brother.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Difference being, in public school, you are taught what the heck they want to teach you, without any choice. In a private school, you find out they are teaching your kid that Its good to have 2 daddies and no mommy is needed, then you pull your kid out and send him to one that had a little more on the ball. In public school your stuck. Then in college it just gets much worse. The liberal professors will intentionally and willfully flunk a student that professes to be a conservative or have Christian values, or if they question the liberal philosophy the professer is trying to ram down their throats. Its a fact, and it happens all the time.

David: We lost our vote in the year 2000. We were not even required to go to the polls as votes became provisional and filed in the proper round file. The courts told us who our next president was going to be – like it or lump it – AND NO ONE got angry.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

And ACORN was not the culprit. One party in particular was responsible for the turn of events.

      • denniso

These ranters don’t want to remember,if they ever knew, that it was the Repub party that forced the vote to the mostly conservative supreme court, rather than COUNT the votes in Florida as should have happened. Their should have been major outrage, but of course all the conservatives and ‘believers in freedom and liberty’ loved the decision, since it was in their favor.

      • JC

Doesn’t matter which party did what…itys the system that allows both parties to be so absolutely corrupt that has to change. Or you can waste your time arguing Red and Blue…the joke is still on you.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

JC: It’s up to us to see to it our employees follow our didtates. Are you pulling your share of the weight or or you willing to sit on your lazy duff and let the next guy carry you. Come on now squeek up.

      • JC

What exactly is your point Dee? You have no idea how very active I am in my community in promoting the ideals of Liberty and pointing out the evil that surrounds us. So while your busy assuming things, you might assume that you and you alone are the only one working to put things right. Now squeek OFF!

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

jC ;it matters to me very much. That any party in particular has the power to override my opinion and dictate to whom I WILL have serve as my President. It’s my God given right to decide for myself whom I choose to vote for and my Democratic vote should be shown the respect it deserves — from you or any other so called citizen who respects Democracy.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

If you really believe that, then Al Gore has you hook, line and sinker. What a bunch of mis-information. Are you aware of all the millions of military votes that never got counted, because they didnt need them. I shouldnt have to tell you who those were going to. Al was a sore loser, and he still is, and now that the truth is coming out about his global warming farce, it looks like he is a loser again. By the way, this global warming crap just dumped 2 feet of snow in the upper PI of Michigan in peoples yards. It dumped 8 inches here, and the temperatures have been below normal in Indiana all year. Amazingly, Al has gone into hiding on this, waiting for a warmer year, and he will resurface. What a clown.

  • J C

Airline Security is completely “reactionary”. It does little or nothing to protect us because it only happens after an event. There is a good book out called “Brave New War” written by an ex US Air Force security officer who spent most of his career in the Middle East.
The underlying truth to Airport Security is that we are being trained to comply with whatever we are told is for our own good. Get in line, do this, do that, go into this room and take your clothes off, walk through this radiation machine…etc.etc.

    Like good sheep.

    • DaveH

That’s right JC, and anybody who thinks it will stop at airlines is dreaming. As soon as some radical bombs a building they will start instituting check points at critical buildings and maybe even on the roads. These people don’t have a clue about economics and they will happily drive this country into the ground in the quest of “safety” which we never will have. As it is, our life expectancies are much greater now than they were a few hundreds years ago when our freedom-seeking Founders created this country. But are the Liberals happy with that which freedom has wrought? Absolutely not! They won’t be happy until we are all subjugated and destitute.

      • denniso

So, it’s the mean, evil liberals fault that we have to take our shoes off?? Didn’e all this airline security start w/ repubs in power?? You are trying to play politics, once again, w/ a tough issue that affects nearly the whole country. Would you prefer we have no airline security and let libertarianism prevail..live and let live?? That makes you a minority of 2.
The real lesson is that No security can be perfect and we can’t ‘win’ the war w/ terrorists by force and bullets alone. There will always be a way to get around any security as long as there are committed extremists who believe they get to heaven by murdering innocents.

      • DaveH

        Dumniso,
I was talking about freedom. And I consider a Liberal anybody that thinks Big Government is the solution. That includes many Republicans.

I suspect its the ATA officers who suffer when you take your shoes off.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Uh denniso, excuse me? Do you not understand, that the only communication these muslim terrorists understand, is violence. Im sorry dear, but its true. They do not respond to being nice to them. Pacifism doesnt work for them, as much as you would like it to. Appeasing them doesnt work either, so your out of luck there also. You cant sit down and talk with them. They dont respond to anything, except slapping the crap out of them. Death is what they want, and it must be given to them. If you dont understand this, then you dont understand the enemy, and you will be crushed under their foot. You cannot defeat an enemy, unless you understand them. But then again, with you being a left wing pacifist appeasing liberal, you dont care, do you?

      • denniso

You clearly don’t understand what I wrote and I can only guess that you presume I’m a pacifist because I don’t wave a gun and threats around. You’re clueless Beb…

      • DaveH

        I presume you’re a Zealot Denniso.

      • SiliconDoc

I think you do completely understand what the liberal wrote, and furthermore I completely understand the airline security charade is occurring absolutely because the liberal deranged idiots have screeched and wailed about discrimination for many decades, and now their insane equality for all has blown a hole in the mind of the USA, and we have grannies and lifelong harmless citizens as well as everyone else undergoing the clueless retardation that is TSA implemented.
I thank the endless insanity of the ding dang libtards 100%, and the very fact that “the Bush regime” even had to cowtow to the new age libtard social and government control is only further evidence that essentially the communist progressive socialist demolib tards have absolutely won, period, and they will be our destruction.
Now the giant government machine fears itself and it’s own insane actions (how can it not ?), while the endless pumping of the propaganda left media machines and weaseling whining libtards drive home in collusion with the crazy activists courts and international lawyer kookball traitors and enemies domestic, the “everyone gets searched” insanity.
Yes, nothing short of INSANE, thanks to the progressive commie quacks snowballed by their own freely professed and deeply ingrained stupidity and worldview, and it appears nothing will stop it.
They are the terrorist’s greatest friends, and real freedom’s greatest enemies – destruction from within, is full steam ahead.
Of course the very crybaby weasel’s that cause it scream and rail against their usual suspects – the man the establishment and the CIA and the MIC, and on and on and on – all the while often claiming those very same created the enemy, are sustaining the enemy, and “in fact” are really the only enemy. One big swirling mass of a tinfoil capacitor on their noggin containing ten thousand million jigawatts of brainfried stupidity.
Thanks a lot quackball libtards – you are truly incredibly deranged specimens.
I, personally, am quite surprised by it all. I guess the utter kookerdom arrived before I was born.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

As far as airline safety goes, I feel we should do exactly what Israel does to get on their flights. They dont seem to have a problem.

      • David

Uh they profile….we are way to PC to do that. We wouldn’t want to hurt any radical muslim’s feelings now would we!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You are right. As long as we have left wing liberals around, we cant look at the people that are guilty of stuff, or were picking on them unjustly. I mean, since it was all muslim Arabs that flew all the planes into buildings, we should be on the look out for 80 year old white grandma’s and grandpa’s, because since they are white, they arent allowed to have rights. Maybe strip search all the Christians, Jews and Catholics, because they arent allowed to have rights either. Isnt it a shame that the ACLU and the democrat liberals have led us down this path, and that the Republicans dont have the balls to stand up and tell them where to get off, that enough is enough. Dave’s Libertarian Party is sounding better and better by the day to me.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

The way I see it, this will all be forgotten soon. I mean, look how terrible 9-11 was, and some people not only have forgotten about it, some want to give lawyers and protections to current terrorists trying to kill us, and that just the democrats that are calling the shots that are running this country.

      • http://shortmaryann78@hotmail.com Maryann

In reply to Dave H. I am very sensitive to electronics, the kind that Homeland Insecurity has been putting out the last three or four years all over the country. Every public transportation building like ferry boat terminals, all government buildings like post office, train depots etc. have listening devices on the outside of the buildings clear out to the sidewalks as far as to the streets. There is not privacy left. When they first installed these things, I went crazy what it did to my body. I had to complain about the devices were too strong for me to tolerate. Insensitive people, which is most of the people, finally learned to calm the stuff down. Now I can pass by or enter any building.

      • Tinwarble

        Dave,

You are right, however, it has already started with buildings. Have you not gone to your local courthouse, where now you don’t just have to go through a metal detector, you have to lift your shirt, take off your belt, take everything out of your pockets, including your wallet & lift up your pants legs. You can’t even walk in with a small pair of nail clippers because they’ll confiscate them from you.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

I worked in a non union plant for 15 yrs and 11 months. For all those years I receive $51.53 cents a month living expenses.
I worked for Gm for about the same amount of time and I receive a little over 700.00 a momth, which as of Dec 31-I lost all my insurance benefits, One prescription I must have for survival will cast me over 500.00 for a three month supply. So I ask how can you in good faith refuse to want a decent health care plan for all Main Street Americans?
We pay for the best coverage for our employees so why are we not entitled to get a little piece of the good stuff we’ve payed for so many to have? Got an answer for me? I,ve worked for everything I have been on no handouts. I have payed for the coverage so it is no free handout. Any answers people besides selfish reheritoric?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I dont really know how to properly answer this one Dee D, but you know, I would wish for people like you, that your health care would be taken care of. At the same time, Im against this health care bill the dems are trying to force down our throats, because what they want to do is take working guys like me, and believe me, this is how it will be, I will have to pay much, much more, plus higher taxes, for their sole intention of giving these unemployed bums that refuse to work, you know, the guys that sit on someones porch all day drinking 40′s and smoking cigarettes, they will get free health care, because hey, their poor. But working joes like me, were going to foot the bill for them, and I have a big problem with that. Im allready paying for their welfare and food stamps which they sell to get money for alcohol and drugs and cigs. Now I get to pay for their doctors visits? Sorry, Im totally against that. I would gladly vote for something that would benefit our retirees and senior citizens, that have allready toiled through life and worked to get to where they are now. But Im totally against these 20 to 25 years olds that expect the government to take care of them and provide everything for them, being taken care of with my dime, and cost me more. Its all wrong.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I hope it doesnt end up being like OSHA, where they keep expanding their power, and now fill so much red tape into jobs, thats its just rediculous what you are supposed to do in the name of safety, and its costly, mostly unnecessary, and the other thing is, you can have 10 different guys from OSHA, and all 10 will tell you a different set of rules. Its costly to business’s and I feel a lot of it is designed to make money for their buddies that sell a lot of this safety stuff that is unnecessary.

    • Time

Your so right, but lets also look at it this way we all recall the events of 9 11 01 but what we tend to forget are the events that took place just after that event. We have a law that congress passed called the {Patriot Act,} that made all of us fit what ever profife the Government deems UN FIT at the moment.

Just after the TSA took over comand of the airports, we went to pick up a friend at the airport.
I sat and watched events unfold that to this day have left me with out words.
I watched a group of ” Muslim” men no less than 50 all walk straight through every check point with out even being looked at once; let alone twice. And they did not even remove their shoes nor jackets, nor did they place their bags / carry ons on the X ray tables.
Not a single one, yet every single white person was forced at gun point to do so.
There were no less than 100 armed US ARMY guards there.

Yet every young White blonde woman was stopped and check ten times by each member of the manic squads set in place to protect you from Harm.

The one event that blew my mind was an elderly White man about mid 70′s early 80′s who was obviously was very hard of hearing who was slammed against a wall by no less than ten TSA and US Army members all armed with M 16′s then they all beat the crap out of him, by hitting him with their guns kicking and punching him with both feet and hands. Then three of them pulled his pants off, while two others rip off his jacket and shirt.
Then he was then bound with cuffs laying face down on the floor. With no less that 4 of these Army persons with thier foot on his back holding him dowm. Then Before they let him up he was kicked no less than 20 time by these men, why you ask he was crying to please be let up off the cold floor.
He ask over and over what have I done?

Where did this happen you ask some war zone in the middle east, No that was at Raligh Air Port in North Carolinia.

I submit to you that we are a POLICE state and have been one for years. Was the book 1984 far off base. NO.

Its only going to get worse, when it happens to you what will you all do?

Now ask this question for all of you, how much stock do you think the O bama and congress members have in the {new body scaners company?} Keep in mind they are spending well over a BILLION dollars of YOUR money on these.

This last event 12. 25 09 is so clear it was staged its sick.

Now I ask are you awake yet folks?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Sorry, but I do not believe for one second that a late 70 to early 80 year old man, was thrown against a wall by 10 soldiers, and beaten and kicked 20 times. I just dont believe that for a minute.

      • DaveH

It is hard to believe, but I do think we are fast approaching that kind of brutality by Government Officials.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I would seriously believe, that if they do indeed start pulling that kind of stuff, that the days will be here when government officials are being taken out back of the wood shed and being given some whoopings, and rightfully so.

      • coal miner

        Beberoni,

I agree with you.I think this guy is out of orbit.Time, you better stop drinking that stuff and drink millers lite.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Dude, at least you could have picked a good tasting beer.

      • Claire

Coal miner—no, no, no, Bud Lite!! LOL

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

BeBe; I really hate to burst your bubble – but in all police departments there are housed liars. thieves. drug pushers.crooks, men who believe the laws only applies to the ones they want to apprehend and not themselves. They also house pedophiles who love to fondle women prisioners because they know they can do little about it under the circumstances. There are many more sick’o's out there than you would care to call brother. And yet the blue law covers all their backs. There are also a lot of decent men in uniform but the detract from themselves and become just as rotten as their counterpart because they either look away while refusing to see whst yhey are seeing and in my eyes makes them just as guilty as the evil doer.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

In response to Dee D. I take it you must live in a big city where corruption runs rampant. Where I live, I trust our police department, and I know many of them, the local Sheriff, and the head of the city police dept., and these guys wont tolerate corruption on their watch. Everywhere I know of, the Sheriff is an elected post, so maybe your town needs to elect a straight shooter that will straighten things out.

      • Claire

Beberoni–Here in Illlinois and the town where I live, the local sheriff was involved in a wreck–hit a telephone pole. He was drunk. No ticket, no DUI, nothing. Came out of it smelling like a rose and got re-elected. And he is a Republican. So as far as I am concerned the Republicans here in Illinois are in the same caliber as the Dems.

      • Time

Dude it happened and its 100% Gosple truth.
My Wife is an officer of the court, aka a Lawyer, we both saw all of this event with our own eyes, as we watched in horror.
Sad to say thats not all that has happened since then.
When the “Health Care Bill” pass’s, this is an open invitation to every part of YOUR life.
Of what {anything} then can be harmful to your health for any reason, thus the Government can then take away anything from you at any time. Think Hitler’s Health Care paln.

Will you believe it when a group of US Marines come to fetch you from your home to take you to a FEMA Camp? Keep in mind what you post here is that OPEN INVITATION for such to happen.

        Wake up.

      • JC

I don’t picture a group of AMERICAN Marines rounding people up.
Doesn’t mean that uniformed low lives won’t be doing it though.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

JC There is good and bad in all of us and the end results are what comes out in the end. There are still a lot of mean skinned bullies living amoung us and whom they choose to join will determine all our futures.

      • Michael J.

I did a search using the info you listed and found nothing. Can you be more specific?

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Mike; Searching for what? Pertaining to what? Be specific please.

      • Michael J.

DeeD, my question was for Time and the post on 1/8/2010 at 9:20 A.M.

      • Norm

        Time
“There were no less than 100 armed US ARMY guards there”??
Have you been into the Jack Daniels again?

      • Time

No Norm, I don’t drink, do you? But thanks for your kind words, enjoy the FEMA Camp.

      • JC

If that’s what happened, that’s just brutal.
here’s some video of a woman being treated in much the same manner…for “security”.
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1Qx0cTze0M&feature=related

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Time- no amount of security placed anywhere in any air port or on any street corner if the Main Street citizen is not willing to do their part and be vigilent. This country belongs to all of us and we should be willing to protect her at all times. She’s been very good to us until we allowed the cancerous vermon to sneak in as our leaders and protectors. They have shown us time and time again where their loyality lies (in their pockets) and we’ve played our game very well by being the catalist enablers. Where should we stop Maybe before the OWO is shoved down our throats??????????????????????????????????????
        Think about it ALL.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

All the security in the world cannot help the ones who contribute nothing for their own safety. Too many scum bags have their head twisted on the wrong direction hoping for complete failure for our country. These poor demented souls. They take the hate mongering psycho’s at face values and fly off the deep end. May God have mercy on them and their propaganda spewers – because there will be a price paid for redemption.

      • Claire

I do not listen to Rush, Hannity, Beck, Malkin, Obermann, Maddow–none of them. I do not care for the diatribe plus I do not need to be brainwashed into their way of thinking. I am my own person. I read and I listen to what Americans have to say. I read what everyone puts on these sites. I will make up my own mind when the time comes to vote. I have been swayed in the past but never again.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Be true to yourself Claire. If we all had a little more self respect then it may be possible to respect a lot of others. At least to a point of listening and trying to reach a common goal for the salvation of our great nation. For all future generations.

      • Claire

Dee D– Sure, I have listened to all of them, but the propanganda people are always for a certain party, they are all biased. And I will make up my own mind about what I want to do and how I will vote. And as far as reaching a common goal, all of us want to take our country back. I do not expect others to think the same way I do.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Just realizing we are 90% of the problem is a positive step in the right direction. Until we are able to see our faults in all matter we will just keep making the same mistakes over and over again with no forward movement that can help any of us.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Good quality Claire. Hang onto it.

      • Claire

DeeD–yes, we are 90% part of the problem in many ways. That old saying —”You reap what you sow” is so true. Another one “You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.” There are some things in life that cannot be changed and there are some things in life that cannot be made better. We can fix some things and not others. It sometimes is the combination of the two. So I guess a person does what they can.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Claire: My mother had a very true and wise saying that rings just as true today as it did in 1894- Her own I think as I have not run across it anywhere else.
‘LIFE IS OUR CHECKING ACCOUNT AND WE WITHDRAW WHAT WE DEPOSIT SEVEN TIMES OVER’
“Another I try to live by — I would rather live my life as if there is a God – Die – then find out I was wrong— Than to live my life as if there were no God – Die – To find out I was wrong and God does exist”.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I do remember just recently, when a bunch of scumbags were wishing for America’s failure in the war. They wanted it so bad. Some even made statements on TV that if we suceed there, it would be bad for their party, but if we fail, it would great for them. Yes, that was the democratic party. They wanted nothing more than failure, and now that they are running things, they are going to not follow the course, and just piddle dee dee around and not accomplish nothing but getting all the people wanting us out of there, so that it all can come crashing down, so that they can point their finger and say “Look what Bush did”. I guarantee it. Those are the scumbags that want us to fail. They have, after all, revealed themselves fully.
