Palin And Schwarzenegger Quarrel Over Global Warming
December 28, 2009 by Personal Liberty News Desk
While the debate about global warming rages on, two Republicans—California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin—have been trading jabs and publicly ridiculing each other’s climate policies.
The clash started after Schwarzenegger criticized Palin’s op-ed article in The Washington Post where she questioned existing climate change science, according to the Christian Science Monitor.
"What was she trying to accomplish?" asked the California governor, quoted by The Financial Times. "Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the nomination [for president]?"
Schwarzenegger continued his attack on Good Morning America on Tuesday. "I think there are people that just don’t believe in fixing and working on the environment," he said. "They don’t believe there is such a thing as global warming, they’re still living in the Stone Age."
Palin, who earlier called on President Obama to boycott the climate change summit in Copenhagen, soon fired back through her Facebook account, asking "why is Governor Schwarzenegger pushing for the same sorts of policies in Copenhagen that have helped drive his state into record deficits and unemployment?"
