Actress Adopts Alternative Approach To Cure Lyme Disease

In an upcoming documentary, actress Parker Posey profiles her long-fought battle with lyme disease and the holistic medical approach that eventually allowed her to become disease-free.
The film follows five patients with life-altering diseases who made the decision to reject traditional medicine and adopt an alternative approach to treating their illness.
Posey originally went through the conventional treatment for lyme disease, but found that the bacteria still remained in her system.
The actress made the decision to not take antibiotics anymore and instead approach the illness holistically. She soon beat the disease and is now preaching the benefits of alternative health remedies.
"Why do we give ourselves away so easily to pharmaceuticals that deplete our system and confuse the natural healing process?" Posey asked. "Why do we think [that] we can’t play an active role in getting healthy?"
"These people [in the documentary] share with us the responsibility they were impelled to take so that others can be encouraged to follow the path of natural medicine and the healing arts," she added.
The Mayo Clinic reports that the first signs of lyme disease include flu-like symptoms, rash, joint pain and neurological problems such as memory loss and trouble concentrating.
