The War on Christmas

December 11, 2009 by

The War on Christmas

I’ve written before about how upset I get at all the politically correct prissies who refuse to let their salespeople or employees wish their customers “Merry Christmas” this time of year.

Because they’re afraid they might upset someone who doesn’t celebrate the holiday they insist on such mind-numbing platitudes as “Season’s Greetings” or “Happy Holidays.” I hear it over and over again—and always respond with a loud and cheery “and Merry Christmas to you!” Most of time, I get a cheerful “Merry Christmas” right back.

Sadly, the war against Christmas continues to gain ground. Public-school officials at Marysville Elementary School in Wilmington, N.C., decided not to allow the kindergarten class to sing “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” at the school’s annual Christmas—oops, scratch that—the school’s annual holiday show. Seems the parent of one student objected to the song because it contained the word “Christmas.” She didn’t want her little tyke exposed to something with “religious overtones.” So the school officials buckled.

What do they do at the public schools in your area?

Meanwhile, the battle against public display of anything religious claimed another victim, this time in Washington, D.C. The new visitor’s center at the United States Capitol contains a replica of the Speaker’s rostrum in the House chamber. It’s an exact copy, except for this change: The actual chair has the words “In God We Trust” engraved across the top. The phrase is missing from the copy. I wonder which scaredy-cat bureaucrat decided on that?

We’ve become so afraid of offending a tiny (but vocal) minority that it’s perfectly all right to ignore the wishes and beliefs of a huge (but silent) majority. I’ve heard this sad situation referred to as the tyranny of the minority. But I think a more accurate phrase is the cowardice of the majority. What a bunch of spineless sissies our leaders have become.

What the Constitution Actually Says

Permit me to rant for a bit about one of the biggest lies the anti-religious zealots have used against us. It is that “the Constitution requires the separation of church and state.”

Baloney. The Constitution requires no such thing.

Let me begin today’s lesson by asking you, what is the most important sentence in the U.S. Constitution?

I would submit that it’s the very first one. Do you remember how this marvelous document begins? Our founding fathers set the tone for everything they believed, and everything that would follow, in Article I, Section 1, sentence one. It reads, “All legislative powers herein granted are vested in Congress….”

A friend of mine who has lectured widely on the Constitution likes to stop at this point and ask: “Are there any math students present? Okay, maybe you can help me out. If ‘all’ lawmaking power resides in Congress, how much is in the Supreme Court? Right, none! How about the Executive Branch? Right, none again. Thanks for your help.”

There’s a very important principle here—one that has been deliberately obfuscated over the past 50 years. A Supreme Court decision isn’t supposed to be “the law of the land.” The Court has no Constitutional right to make law. All it is supposed to do is to decide “the law of the case.” Their decision should be binding on the plaintiff and the defendant … and no one else.

Instead, for most of my lifetime, layer upon layer of additional government has been sanctioned, and even initiated, by the black-robed justices of the U.S. Supreme Court—men and women who regularly and repeatedly ignore the very first sentence of the document they have sworn to uphold.

And let me digress for a moment to note that the very same principle applies to the Executive Branch. What lawmaking powers does the Constitution bestow on the President and all of the cabinets, agencies and commissions he oversees? Again, the answer is none. Yet we get Executive Orders, Presidential decrees, all sorts of new rules and regulations, and now dozens of new “czars,” for crying out loud. Each and every one has assumed powers that are nowhere granted in the Constitution. And no one dares challenge them!

With that as background, let’s turn to the First Amendment (the one used to justify arguments for “the separation of church and state”) and see what it actually says.

Here is how it begins:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”

That seems pretty clear, doesn’t it? “Congress shall make no law,” either promoting a religion or prohibiting one.

According to the Constitution, what are the states allowed to do, when it comes to religion (or just about anything else)? The answer is, pretty much whatever they want.

Could a state require that the Ten Commandments be posted in every courthouse? Sure it could.

Could a city or county government install a crèche on its lawn every Christmas? Absolutely.

Could a governor encourage the citizens of his state to call on the Almighty to alleviate drought or do other good works? Without a doubt.

The framers of our Constitution expected the citizens of each state to decide for themselves how state and local affairs would be conducted. Would every state decide the same thing? Absolutely not. Our founding fathers expected differences to emerge between states. Some would be minor, some major. If one state passed laws you felt were onerous, you could vote to change them—or move to another state.

The idea that every law and every rule in every state should be exactly the same as the ones in every other state would strike our founding fathers as the height of absurdity. They believed that differences were good; that competition would reward good policy and punish bad.

The system worked pretty well for more than 150 years. It could work even better today, thanks to the vastly improved flow of information and transportation. If we choose, we can learn a lot about policies and procedures in other states. And if we like what we find out, we can get there a lot easier than our forefathers did.

Instead, we’ve permitted the tyranny of the minority to trample the rights of the majority. Maybe it’s time for the rest of us to demand our rights back.

My hat is off to the Bill O’Reillys, the Glenn Becks and the others across America who are fighting the good fight to celebrate Christmas this Dec. 25, and not just a “happy holiday.”

But I wish they would do more. I wish they would help us take the offensive against the liberal loonies who have gotten their way for far too long. How about a national campaign to explain and then restore the U.S. Constitution? That would be a Christmas present that would benefit the entire country.

And to all the sorry appeasers and retreaters out there, I hope someone roasts your chestnuts in an open fire. Bah, humbug, indeed.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

we have to stop worring about offending people who offend us by not alowing us to celibrate in our own way…maybe its time to let them know how offended we are by their actions……MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR..

    • Foolpatrol

Exactly who stops you fron celebrating in your own way Al? Turn off Fox and pick up a book!

  • Bob Funke

There is no “War on Christmas”, there never has been. People are free to celebrate or not depending on their personal beliefs. There are a few restrictions concerning public property, but considering all of the other places where celebrations and ornamentation can take place, why are people like you so worried about what happens in a public place? Would you defend Hindu’s putting up ornamentation in the Town Square, or is this only nativity scenes? You can celebrate how you like with friends ands “enemies”, but give this old saw a rest, you do not speak for everyone. Think about what Christmas signifies…Goodwill, Tolerance and Peace. Quit acting like you are oppressed, you are not, what you are doing is oppressing others.

    • C lee

As you say bob there are plenty of places to celibrate and decorate but make no misake the places are fewer than they were yesterday and they will be even fewer tomorrow. There is an attack on our way of life , its ongoing and growing every day. This is not about a war on christmas its about a war on your freedom, dont confuse the issue.I live in the great state of Kentucky a commonwealth state where we still proudly display the Ten Commandments and where my grand daughters still pray in school and pledge their allegence to the flag.If you still think this is simply about a war on christmas you need to get out more.

      • DaveH

        Very well put Lee.

      • eyeswideopen

        c. lEE, IT is about upholding the Constitution for everyone, not just the Christians.

      • c.lee

I dont think this is just a christian thing its about all of us however we were in a discussion about christmas so I added my views just as you have. If you have read any of my earlier post you would know Iam not a bible thumper. I do believe in God and I was raised Southern Baptist. I respect all non zeloit non radical religion. So as you pointed out this is about all of us, hence my little quote about they came for the various groups and I said nothing then they came fore me and there was no one left to speak so I get it. Now that we have made that clear we can move on but this is just another example of how we keep correcting one another and squabiling about our own agenda and we have no time left to address the real problems, so why dont we get over ourselves and move forward.

    • American Citizen

A couple of years ago there was news about people who were being fired for telling customers, “God blees you” or “Merry Christmas”.

      • Foolpatrol

Hey, for those of you who don’t support unions and strong labor movements, employers can fire for any reason or no reason at all as long as it is not for an illegal reason or against public policy. You can’t have it both ways. Right wingers want all the power vested in business but don’t want to live with the consequences. FYI A Christian worker demonstraits his/her faith by their work ethic and committment to quality work; not by telling customers, “God Bless You.” Bless them by doing what you are hired to do!

      • DaveH

Ahh, so you’re a Union supporter. That explains a lot.

      • Foolpatrol

You’re not. That explains a lot too.

    • Foolpatrol

Wow! Another sane, thinking, reasonable, person expressing himself in this forum! Thank God!

It seems like the people in America have gone crazy. How do they think that we get these Holidays that they want to get get these paid Holidays. Jesus is the reason for CHRISTMAS. Jesus is The reason for GOOD FRIDAY. Jesus is the reason for EASTER. And Jesus is the reason we live & breath. They will show their authority down here for a little while, But they will NEVER DO AWAY WITH JESUS. He Is REAL & our NATION better turn back to GOD for he is the REASON that AMERICA has prospered anyway. HE IS THE REASON FOR THESE HOLIDAYS. So Have A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL. Christmas is A American time of the year.Faith is all so part of it and all ways shouls be.To those that don’t like it ,Just set back and let the rest of us have fun with family and friends.A time that all of us in God can have a little peace in are life. The one’s that don’t like it can go to hell.

  • ONTIME

Seems to me that Americans are going to have to practice civil disobediance in order to maintain ordinary traditions, if you are easily intimadated I suppose this won’t work for you but I am a American by birth and my traditions run deep. The ones I like best is my dislike of expensive government to run my life and a bureaucrat at any level that’s overpaid.

Just remember your heritage and what it cost.

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year!

  • C lee

When I was a young boy I had a girlfriend whose family was jewish. My family on the otherhand was southern baptist, we celibrated christmas and they celibrated haunicha there was never a conflict, not once did we say you should not celibrate haunicha and not once did they say we should not celibrate christmas. Our religions did not keep us apart. I dont believe that the seperation of church and state fanaticisom has anything to do with religion its about control. I think religion on all sides are suffering over this decision. Growing up in the 50s and 60s we pledged our alegence to our flag and country at the beginning of school every morning after which we said a prayer. Our teachers were not preachers we were taught that our churches were in our hearts and we prayed to our personal God. I think the govt and powers to be felt religion was becoming to powerfull so they had to put a stop to it. Instead of just saying no more prayer since this would sound to much like communisum they provoked various reliogens with propoganda to cause a conflict then conviently stepped in and made an interpritation of the constitution for the seperation of church and state which Chip in the simplest terms possible had proven it to be a lie. I cant believe that We The People are allowing this to happen. Its kind of like that little saying I hear sometimes and I never can get the exact wording right so Ill just give you the jist of it they came for the ?and I said nothing they came for the ? and I said nothing they came for the ? and I said nothing then they came for me and there was no one left to speak. Thats what their counting on people no one left to speak. Iam not a bible thumper people I have my god and we talk, so dont take this as a religious rant. Iam an american who have a number of famous ancestors who gave their lives for this great country. Untill we stand up and regain control of our country its only going to get worse. They are rapeing and ravgeing our constitution daily to gain more control over us so as chip says keep your powder dry and ill say they will pry my guns out of my cold dead hands. GOG BLESS AMERICA.

    • Foolpatrol

God Bless the entire world, no exceptions! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanza and Happy Hanukah!

      • American Citizen

        Thank you, same to you.

      • John

        Now fool is getting it.

        Yes Merry Christmas too all!

      • Laura

I’m so sorry for you. God does NOT bless the whole world. God does NOT bless sin. Offending a Holy God does not constitute blessing. You are exactly what your title says: A FOOL!

      • Peter

Laura, your anger is showing! How about this? I heard Graham Cooke say this recently: “In this world there are Christians and pre-Christians, nothing else. They may call themselves something else, but that doesn’t matter. The fact is, Jesus died and rose again as a sacrifice ‘once for all’, that’s ALL, not just those who have already accepted Him.” Graham said it’s like when the bank sends you a new credit card. It’s real, it has all the correct authority, but it won’t work fully until the owner officially accepts it by signing the back and having their PIN added to it. Likewise with pre-Christians. They are Christians in everything but their personal acknowledgment of it and official acceptance of what has already been achieved for them by Jesus. Many may never accept Him, but it doesn’t change what Jesus did for them. Therefore our job as those who have already ‘officially’ accepted our status in Christ, is not to rail against folks about ‘blessing or no blessing’, but to show them the love and grace of the Father through Jesus Christ His Son at this time when we choose to remember His birth. Sorry this is a bit ‘sermony’, but it’s the truth. Our job is not to fight sin, that’s God’s responsibility; He’s way good at it and He can see the bigger picture. Our job is to call His Grace down to earth, so everyone can see a radiant picture of God in us.

      • Foolpatrol

Wow! Yours is one of very few Christian responses I’ve ever seen in this forum. The common thread is usually all who do not agree with writers’ perspectives are wrong, liberal, nonChristian, unAmerican and evil. God Bless you as you share His spirit by your example.

      • eyeswideopen

Peter, well said. Spoken like a true Christian. God Bless YOU!!

      • Colin Cody

Peter….If the Bible is your standard in defining such things, there are only Christians and non-Christians. God takes care of His followers, and Satan takes care of his. And they are definitely not destined for the same place in eternity. According to those who have been there and returned, Satan’s abode is as far from being like heaven as you could possibly imagine. Jesus said that the way to hell is wide and many there be that go therein, and narrow the way to heaven and few there be that go therein. There is no basis for Universalism in the Bible.

Those who do not hate the morally bad cannot also love the morally good. We must, therefore, hate moral evil in order to love virtue. God sets the example by hating wicked people and loving virtuous people. Being virtuous Himself, how could He do otherwise? And so must His followers do who are 100% virtuous because of their faith commitment (Luke 9:23).

      • Foolpatrol

        @ Laura

“For God so Loved the WORLD That He Gave His Only Begotten Son”. God Bless the entire WORLD, NO EXCEPTIONS! You’re one MAD Sista, Laura!

      • eyeswideopen

Laura, you speak like a pseudo Christian. Embrace Jesus and just for one day try not to judge or impose your standards or religious sect on others. The Bible doesn’t say which type/denomination of Christians are the chosen. It doesn’t say that the Baptists are the chosen ones, or the Mormons are the chosen ones, or the Catholics are the chosen ones. It talks about Christians, those who accept Christ. It is sad that you can only accept those of your own religious sect, but Jesus didn’t delineate between the Christians.

  • PghVirgo

Tell it like it is and call it as you see it!! DAMN political correctness, there’s NOTHING correct about it!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR, TO ALL!!
IF YOU are offended, so be it, that’s YOUR problem!! WHY should WE be offended by non-believers????
I don’t care that you’re a heathen, but don’t expect the majority to lower themselves to your level!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR, TO ALL!!

    • Foolpatrol

Hey, where’s all that Christian charity? Why are you calling strangers heatherns? Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanza and Happy Hanukah!

That’s what’s wrong with the so-called moderates. They’re fence sitters, going in whatever direction the wind blows.

  • http://sayingMerryChristmas Pat Moorman

I am a sales clerk at a bargain outlet and we are not banned from saying Merry Christmas, I say it. What is so wrong about saying it. People need to realizae what Christmas is about and stop bitching abouat what to say and not to say

  • Allen Kingry

Seems a bit ironic that the libs and atheists who want to destroy religion in our county don’t seem to mind taking the days off during the Christmas holidays. Since they don’t believe we should celebrate Christmas shouldn’t they be at work on the 25th? Not going to happen. We need to start with the Congress, followed by the not-so-supreme court and explain how the Constitution is supposed to really work and that they can’t just pick and choose the laws that are applicable to their agenda. Sign me up for the National Campaign.

    • DaveH

      Allen,
Not all athiests want to interfere in your religious choices.

      • Foolpatrol

And alll right wingers want to impose their values or lack thereof on others. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanza and Happy Hanukah!

      • American Citizen

No, true believers just want to be let alone to celebrate as we always have. If you don’t want to participate, that’s your choice. If merchants want our money, they should recognize what it is we’re celebrating. Right now it’s Hannakuh for those of the Jewish faith. I wish them well.

What holiday do the atheists celebrate? Fourth of July? Labor Day? Every other day? Go to it.

      • DaveH

You have to be kidding. I’ve never has a right-winger impose anything on me. The Liberals on the other hand want to force me to do things their way using the Government as their bully boys.

      • eyeswideopen

That’s because they think you are one of them…Lol. Merry Xmas.

  • libertytrain

Thanks for another nice article – Merry Christmas -

  • Joy Powell

Thank you, Chip, for speaking the truth! Well said. America has been a great country because it was founded upon Biblical truths. As we forsake those truths, we are no longer “great.” May God grant us the courage and the wisdom so stand, as our forefathers did, against the evil tyranny that threatens to destroy our freedoms. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

  • http://www.easyinvest.co.za pete

At the end of the day we remember that we are more and more being told what we can or cannot do by a few people who actually indulge in such devious rhetoric that they become more and more ridiculous and irrelevant, since their sincerity does not match their rhetoric – words are meaningless when uttered by those who are not intent in following through on those words.
They can all go and do whatever it is that they do and…… the rest of us? Well we can just have a great Christmas and ignore them – they don’t know what they are all about anyway! What else is there that they want from us?

  • DaveH

    Nice Article Chip.
I would like to add that one of the benefits of states going their own way is what I have heard referred to as the “fishbowl effect”. That is, we as citizens of other states can observe the effects of those unique laws. If we see that the laws are failures, we can work extra hard to stop their implementation in our own states, or vice versa.
That’s why the Liberals tend to go straight to the Federal Government for their desired laws. They don’t want people to learn how mistaken their pet controls are.

  • Don Dierdorff

It’s too bad that the narrow-minded, religious-hating few have forgotten that our Founding Fathers and their Christian-based beliefs that the United States Constitution was founded on have allowed all religions and ethnicities to flourish. This is yet another example of political correctness run amok. Merry Christmas!

  • y t

Chip, you are absolutely right and you have said it very well. Even though I am not a Christian, I have never felt offended by some one saying Merry Christmas, that is because I believe that the person wishing me Merry Christmas says it truly believing in his or her God.

    • Laura

Well, Thank God for you dear soul! And a Merry Christmas to you!

  • Clara Ann Marchbanks

    Dear Sir:
I vote for the NATIONAL CAMPAIGN! Where do I sign up? I am saying MERRY CHRISTMAS. I am a switchboard operator and many who are calling at this time of year wish me a MERRY CHRISTMAS. /Right on Chip, The Political Correct zealots want to control everything. To tell someone they cant say Merry Christmas, is limiting their Freedom of Speech.
Christians rise up and do not be intimidated by these people. We need to speak out and not let the Government do as they wish, To deny the singing of Rudolf, or any other songs to children is wrong, I suppose they would rather haave the children out on the streets stealing or destroying property.
Our country was founded on Religious principals and Freedom also read the Constution.

      • DaveH

“I suppose they would rather haave the children out on the streets stealing or destroying property”.

It sure looks that way doesn’t it Christy? For sure the government isn’t setting a very good example by stealing the citizens money.

      • Joe H.

        Christy,
there are quite a few employers out there that are holding a firing over the employees head and telling them NOT TO SAY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Well I for one will say Merry Christmas till they tell me that their employer won’t let them say it them I will look up the manager, chew him out as I tell him to refund my money and keep his merchandise, themn I will find the web page for them and tell them that they lost a sale today and ALL my business in the future!! It’s that part where they tell the employees that they CAN’T say it that I’ll kick up a fuss about!!! That IS against our constitutional rights!!!

    • Foolpatrol

As long as you don’t require me to put some plastic junk on my lawn, go right ahead. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanza and Happy Hanukah!

yeah, whatever. Say what you want but it’s still CHRISTmas. We know it’s not exactly on the 25th but at that time, THAT was the day chosen to worship the birth of CHRIST. It is my right to say MERRY CHRISTMAS if I so desire. I should not have to say (or except) Happy holiday. I usually say, “which holiday, Halloween?” NO THANKS, don’t try to change my MERRY CHRISTMAS. I don’t buy goods from stores that have xmas in their windows or newspaper ads. MERRY CHRISTMAS .

  • keith from michigan

Great article, those that do nothing to stand up for their religious rights are only helping the minority. We need our country back and stop these minorities from having their way. We also have rights.

  • Randy

    AMEN!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanza and Happy Hanukah! God Bless the entire world, no exceptions!

  • John Hasse

On the other hand, ‘christmas’ is a thoroughly heathen holiday. The Savior YAHUSHUA was born during the feast of tabernacles, and it was Tammuz who was born at ‘christmas’. Those of us who try to follow scripture are mostly very negative about the trappings of this heathen holiday. You are right about the constitution, but mostly the ‘christians’ look more like the lions when I tell them they are not following the savior in their heathen traditions.

    • Debbie Gravois

You are absolutely right. How terribly backward our times are as the scriptures warned they would be. The “Christians” fighting for their right to celebrate their heathen tradition. It saddens me. However, I try to remember that 10 or 12 years ago, I thought I was a Christian and I followed the heard and did all the traditions of men that made God’s work of no effect also. Thank you for your comment. Jesus said “feed my sheep” and you have found a way to feed them without smacking them on their little heads I think. That’s been my problem in the past.

      • Debbie Gravois

I should have mentioned that the writer of this article is absolutely correct in his comments about the only authority that can make law, Congress, and the Supreme Court’s job of interpreting law…and finding for the plantiff or defendant in each case. They are not to be litigators or law makers…but I do also think that as a country, like so many times in the past, we are getting the Government that perhaps we deserve, according to the laws of sowing and reaping.
We as a nation have allowed the Supreme Court to legalize baby killing and raise up all sorts of abominations. We helped put into office compromising men who would appoint such ungodly people to the courts.

In addition, I apologize for the spelling errors. It’s the “herd” not “heard” and God’s “word”, not work, in the last comment.

We are to blame as a nation and we have to remember that the leaders we have, God has put into place for whatever reason and now we must submit to the authorities that we have, yes even the unreasonable ones as the scriptures explain.

      • Colin Cody

Debbie…..Do you really think that Christians in Germany should have obeyed Hitler when he called for the extermination of Jews and Christians he hated? Should the Chinese Christians have gone along with Mao in the extermination of the millions he murdered for political reasons? Should Italian Catholics have gone along with the dictates of the wicked Mussolini? Should American Christians not resist the totalitarian policies of a morally degenerate Muslim illegal alien “president” who supports the murder of nearly fifty million innocent little babies in their mother’s wombs?

If God is like Jesus, then He must totally oppose the evil of our government and hold us responsible for doing the same. We must support good government that promotes our virtuous conscience, but resist as did Daniel when the government seeks the destruction of our nation and our faith.

I believe that God has told me that He wants to see the destruction of the wicked in American government today every bit as much as in Hitler’s or Mao’s or Pol Pot’s or Stalin’s yesteryear. Therefore, I pray daily for His will to be done in this matter. I use the principles of James 5:16 as my guide in imprecatory praying. We find examples of it in the book of Psalms and as invoked by Paul quoting Psalm 69.

The staggering problem is that Christians have never been taught imprecatory prayer. The church has become so weak minded that some cannot even imagine that it is indeed Christian and a necessary corollary of divine love. However, we need a vast army of prayer warriors praying down the wrath of God on these wicked destroyers in government and in our culture, depraved men and women seeking to eliminate all that is truly good from our lives.”…It is appropriate that we pray that Christ would vindicate his holy name and program by destroying the enemies of righteousness, just as he preserves those who love his name.”

    • Peter

John, you are correct about the real date of Jesus’ birth, however I think you face a very steep battle to get the true date accepted by most Christians who are used to celebrating in December, although I for one would love to see it happen.
      The reason?
The closest we can get to the true date of Christ’s birth is September 11th, 3BC! Now THAT will shock some folks I’m sure!
But wouldn’t you rather reclaim that awful date and celebrate something so wonderful on it rather than sadly remember an attack by a bunch of islamic terrorists? I know I would.
And as Christians, who really cares about whether or not it’s a holiday or whether or not we give gifts? The real gift was Jesus, full of God’s Grace. Remove the crass commercialism from December and remember Christ on His actual birthday!

  • http://jameshartman@windstream.net James Hartmann

This person is absolutely correct in what the constitution says and the surpreme court is absloutely wrong in what it has done in this regard and the only way we the citizens can and must react is to ignore it all.. The schools have absolutely no right to stop Christmas music from being sung in public schools or for that matter does any government agency have the right to stop and religiouds function or decorations from being stipped on public praperty.. The constitutionis absolue in what is says about neither promotin or stopping religion It quite simply is against what is written we are free for the expression of what we believe in no matter who says we cannot.

    • denniso

James…what don’t you get?? The public schools are funded by gov’t money..taxpayer money. The constitution prevents an establishment of religion BY THE GOV’T. Xmas songs that are religious CAN NOT be part of school..all other songs can be. Private schools that take no PUBLIC money can pray and sing religious songs all they like. Public schools can’t. Simple enough??

      • AnhydrousBob

I agree denniso – that is a great argument to get the government out of the school system!

      • American Citizen

No, you don’t get it. The government is us. The government money is our money. Taxes are legal theft. Just because government owns a building, it means we own it just as we now own car companies. Whatever the government pays for, American citizens own it because it’s our money that pays for it.

      • Colin Cody

Denniso….According to the Founders, your interpretation of the Constitution is 100% incorrect. The Constitutional prohibition is not against Christianity in government schools, in Congress, in the presidency or any other part of government. It is against establishing a particular religious denomination as the official religion of the FEDERAL government. Jefferson’s “wall of separation” had nothing to do with it. Read “Ten Tortured Words” to see for yourself.

The states, by the way, are, according to the Constitution, free to do with religion as they each see fit. They can even establish a particular denomination as their state sanctioned religion if they so desire. At least two states had state sanctioned religions when the Constitution was ratified and kept them for a time afterward. None have had such in modern times, but it is not beyond the pale of future possibility. Texas could be Baptist and Louisiana could be Catholic and Massachusetts Pagan, for instance.

Personally, I favor amending the Constitution to require that all in government service (except for enlisted in the military) be professing Christians according to a standard set by a consortium of biblical theologians with Luke 9:23 as the basic, fundamental concept defining biblical salvation. Everyone else can be whatever they want to be, but public servants must constantly meet that biblical standard or be forced to find another line of work. Properly set up, that policy would enormously reform government and return it to what the Founders actually envisioned for us from the beginning. Had we not become such a Godless country, a nation totally unlike anything the Founders could possibly have imagined, such a reform would not be necessary.

  • Disgusted

Couldn’t agree more! Great Article! I think the recent happenings regarding gay marriage reflects that the majority is getting tired of the minority demanding and getting their way. I for one always say Merry Christmas and after that I always say remember the reason for the season, the birth of Christ.

    • Foolpatrol

Funny how those who want to remember the birth of Christ seek to deny access to preventative health care and life saving treatments to ALL of God’s children. Go figure. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanza and Happy Hanukah!

      • American Citizen

Fool, that’s so much baloney. No one wants to deny health care to anyone. You should have heard a doctor today speaking of the healthcare bill. It’s Congress that will be denying healthcare. That bill is a travesty.

      • John

American they’re not very analytical (Libs) nor do they care about the facts.
The remedies being proposed to resolve the healthcare issues are a travesty ($$$) and socialistic.

      • denniso

Am cit…If healthcare costs are beyond the reach of tens of millions of CITIZENS and the rightwing extremists deny a way for those costs to become affordable, then tens of millions are DENIED access to timely healthcare. Forcing millions to wait until they are at death’s door into emergency rooms is the most expensive approach and inhuman!

      • American Citizen

As I said, you should have heard that doctor who actually read the bill. He said health care would be rationed as there are not enough doctors now. The way the bill reads, it won’t help anything. The Dems refuse tp dp what really needs fixing. We have an insurance problem, not a healthcare problem. We have the best in the world. The government wants to run the healthcare system. They’re not doctors who know what your needs will be. They’re not really listening to the people.

      • True American!!

You absolutely gave yourself the correct screen name. Only fools are foolish enough to agree with what’s going on in our once great country. The handwriting is clearly there and only fools are not reading it.You should go back into the hole you crawled out of. If you are an American you should remember that our forefathers made this country great and our soilders have died to keep it free and safe for you to live in. You are a prime example of what is causing the downfall of America. God Bless America. Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays. If store clerks say that to me they will be quickly reprimanded and wished a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.

      • Laura

AMEN to that! I’ll reprimand those employees as well. And then I will contact the manager and reprimand that one too. And tell them if they don’t fix their MERRY CHRISTMAS issue, then I want a refund of all the merchandise I just bought.

      • American Citizen

Forcing a business or person to say “Merry Christmas” is wrong. If they say, “Happy Holidays”, that’s OK, too, as there is more than one holiday celebrated at this time of year. It’s and individual’s or business’s right to greet you as it sees fit. At least they greet you. Don’t look for offense where none is intended.

      • Foolpatrol

God Bless the people of the entire world, no exceptions! Happy Hoildays!

      • steven jeffries

Fool No one is denying anyone health care I mean Medicaid Medicare which help pay for NOW which is Gov’t Run…also a mess People need to Get Off the dole And earn and learn TO BECOME SELF Sufficient.

      • Foolpatrol

Tell that to the 18,000 AMERICANS who die every year due to lack of health insurance! Tell it to the fifty million uninsured Americans, many who work every day but cannot afford health care! Happy Holidays!

      • DaveH

No, they die because Government is too Big and Intrusive. If you can spew crap Fool, so can I.

      • DaveH

The unaffordable aspects of Health Care are a direct result of Government meddling in the markets. So Fools prescribe more poison as the cure. Here is the only way we can get back to affordable health care, using the same free markets that made our country great many decades ago:
        http://mises.org/freemarket_detail.aspx?control=279

      • eyeswideopen

DaveH, yes the “free Markets”, are those the ones that the health insurance industry is using to prevent us from obtaining insurance across state lines? Same one, that makes sure the costs are price fixed, so there is no competion amoung the companies who are strangling this country? How’s that free market working for ya??
Free Markets, is that the same one that has all the major Pharma companies receiving government subsidies? Same one, who doesn’t allow bidding by the government to get lower price on all the meds in the medicare system? Oh, that free market is working great for all of us.Give us more!!! Seems like it is socialism for the corporations and capitalism for the poor. That free market sucks as it functions under anti-trust laws that should have been repealed over 60 years ago.

      • Peter

I’m not on anyone’s ‘side’ here. I’m a Christian who believes in loving everyone, as Jesus taught us to. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.” This is the sum of everything, but I have to comment on how many people are spewing hatred at Foolpatrol without even taking the time to see the obviously intended irony in his screen name! Guys, he’s not saying he’s a fool, but that he’s patrolling for fools, and perhaps saying he’s found a few here! (If he’s a ‘he’, might be a ‘she’, but who cares). A lot of you need to step back a bit and actually read your whole New Testament before making such hateful statements! Bottom line? God’s heart is for the poor, but He doesn’t want them to stay poor! He puts people in rich countries not so they can just be rich and to hell with the poor folks, but so they can use the riches He gives them to serve and help the poor to break out of their poverty cycle through us being God’s Love to them…your neighbors…everyone in America, not just the pretty people with lots of cash and a nice condo. God wants you to help the homeless, the un-lovely, the prisoners who need redemption, basically everybody! Don’t believe me though, go look for yourselves.

      • denniso

steven and DaveH…Most people can’t control how much $$ they make. This country has never provided well paying jobs for everyone, capitalism never has, never will. Healthcare costs have gone through the roof w/ a lot of the huge increases going to high level execs. The cost of healthcare has outstripped many working people’s wages. It’s not that those people don’t work,it’s offensive to working people to say that, especially at Christmas!!

      • Colin Cody

Eyes wide open….All the things you mention are not examples of free market capitalism but rather of government giving special privileges to some at the expense of others, in other words, government corruption. Get rid of all those things and a host of others and you might begin to approach having a free market capitalist economy in this country.

Question: How do monopolies promote free markets? Not everything that happens as a result of free human choice in the markets promotes the common good. Sometimes government has a moral obligation to break up companies that use their size and monopoly to harm the public. Other enlightened companies may use their size and monopoly to benefit the public. That is the way free market capitalism should and can work. These two types of mega sized companies should be treated differently, of course.

  • Robin from Indiana

Great article! I do not understand all the bending that is done to appease the minority. It is time for a revival in our country and to reinstate the constitution they it was written, in the context it was written!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!

    • Foolpatrol

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanza and Happy Hanukah!

      • eyeswideopen

Fool, ditto, to everyone…. or Happy Holidays from a Christian.

  • JM

Great article Chip! I get tired of being politically correct, even at Christmas.

    • April

LOL! I am tired of being politically correct (PERIOD). How about being MORALLY corect!!!!! Political correctness has stepped way over the line on so many morally correct toes. Christmas is as American as baseball, hotdog, and apple pie. If those who believe so much in political correctness are worried about offending anyone, then QUIT offending folks such as myself who love and appreciate our Country as well as our Constitutional rights. Leave America and go back to the land from whence your ancestors came. eg. Harry Reid can go back to Scotland; Nancy Peloci can go back to Slovakia; Obama can go back to Kenya; etc. etc… But stop trying to change the Home of the Free America. HO! HO! HO! and Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!! Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!!! Hallelujah!!!! and pass them there Irish potatoes!

      • John

I couldn’t agree more. Yes Christmas is as American as Baseball, hot-dogs, & apple pie. I am 56 years old and I have some of the best memories of my life during this time of year and I’ve passed the tradition to my children.
Yes it’s the minority that are too blame for this political incorrectness and discontentment towards American traditions.
People can go back to their homeland if they don’t like our American traditions! We also need to take back control of our country from those liberal hypocrites and idiots that don’t possess any morals. And you know who you are and what I’m talking about.
Thanks Chip, I feel the same way that you do, we need to take our country back.

        MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

      • Foolpatrol

You can say Merry Christmas or Hail Hitler if you want. Not imposing my values and will on others is also as American as apple pie! Perhaps we should consider that American value in our quest to be politically incorrect. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanza and Happy Hanukah!

      • John

Exactly, Merry Christmas too you too!

      • denniso

War on Christmas??? Wow!! I think it’s much ado about nothing. Don’t we actually have important things going on?? And, stores are trying to sell crap and it’s their right to try to not offend people and it’s true that there are 10′s of millions of non Christians who don’t celebrate X-mass. What’s so offensive about ‘happy hollidays’?? It covers all bases and includes everyone…it’s also true that X-mass IS a Christian day. Relax people…

      • P. Fitzmorris

I love Christmas but I think that yall care to much about some ignorant clerk or store employee telling you Merry Christmas. Christmas is in your heart. So do like I do, let them know your distaste for their policies by where you spend your money

      • Pam

I totally agree with you. What is happening to the United States of AMERICA? CHRISTMAS is CHRISTMAS always has been and hopefully always will be. It is just discusting that we are having to fight for CHRISTMAS! I totally agree, if you do not like CHRISTMAS, GO HOME!
Glenn Beck was correct when he said something to the effect, “if we are not standing up for America, we will wake up one morning and wonder where we are living”. If anyone does not agree with Glenn Beck, they are crazy, he said it and it is happening. CHRISTMAS is one very good example for what is headed our way. I hope every true American has a very MERRY MERRY MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

      • Foolpatrol

Glenn Beck is crazy (so are his minion followers). All that alcohol and illegal drug abuse fried his few brain cells. What’s up with right wingers and drug abuse? Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanza and Happy Hanukah!

      • John

        Fool,
Well if you want to go there Obama is crazier, look what all that cocaine has done too him.
He hasnt’ a clue what he’s doing.

      • American Citizen

Glenn tells it like it is, unlike the MSM which is owned by the Dems.

      • Miriam Feldstein Case

Glen Beck is not crazy! He is usually right on the mark. As to his drug use, etc. have you never heard of forgiveness and repentance? Is that too much of a Christian concept for you to understand?

AMEN to that sister!! They can go back from whence their ancestors came from, since they believe we have treated those other people in those countries so bad. Those other countries ought to be paying our military defense for protecting them. Why do they get a free welfare ride? TRUE AMERICANS WHO LOVE THEIR FREEDOM NEED TO STAND UP AND FIGHT FULL FORCE AGAINST ALL THESE FREEDOM HATERS, AND SHIP THESE PEOPLE OUT OF THE COUNTRY BASED ON TREASON. God Bless you!

      • denniso

Laura, relax girl, and how about you and your crazy buddies leave. This is MY country!!! Just because you want to return the country to the stone age doesn’t mean you get to. Grow up, please.

      • Mike C.

(Words removed for offensive content) Christmas has been with this country from its beginning, as it should always should be! Happy holidays? What holiday is that? CHRISTMAS!!! The day our lord was born. What year is it? I guess you anti Christmas people have no year along with no brains. You’re destined to repeat your past, unless you try to rewrite it, like in California. They are the Founding Fathers… …not the framers. It’s Christmas, not some unknown holiday.

      • DaveH

        Laura,
Pay no attention. He is just the self-appointed board Harpy who thinks name-calling, ridicule, condescension, and other childish tactics pass as intelligence.

      • denniso

DaveH…look above and see who is calling names..you’re too biased to read correctly?

Mike…I’m SO hurt!! I know you can’t help yourself,so relax and try to respond rationally. First, I’m not anti Xmas. The term happy holidays is intended to include Jews and non believers in the spirit of the ‘holliday’. Jews are celebrating Hanukkah, every bit as important to them as Xmas is to you.
Lastly,Your Lord was not born on the 25th…it’s the day that the early church chose to supplant the Pagan holiday that had been held at that time for thousands of yrs. All Biblical scholars agree that the 25th was not the birthday of your Lord. It’s only symbolic and intended by the catholic church to get rid of the Pagan religion.

      • Foolpatrol

        @ Laura

Wow! Typical right wing, hate filled, “Christian” response! Where’s the love and charity of Christ? Remember this, “For God so loved the WORLD” (not the US, THE World)? I’ll bet you think Sarah Palin is smart too, don’t you? God please help us! Americans are getting stupider by the day! Happy Holidays!

      • J C

Good sentiment Laura. “America, LOVE it or LEAVE it” And take a few of your freedom hating Muslim buddies with you…
The very thing that made America great is what they are trying to wipe out in the false name of “progress”. And the Muslim / Kenyan Obama is leading the carge.

      • denniso

j c…I’m trying very hard to not call people who believe that crap you wrote, morons! I don’t want to sink to the low level of discourse displayed by most of you rightwingers who choose to believe what some moron is telling you to believe..Limbaugh,Beck,Savage(who is worse than a moron). All you can do is rant w/ lies about Obama and call we more rational people names. Figure it out, name calling here does not scare us away. Got it??

      • J C

gee denniso, that’s ok. You can call me a moron if you like. Because if you are a follower of that communist Obama I would do the same for you. That low life is about as UN American as they get. Beleiving in the basic values of freedom and liberty are not “right wing” they’re “American”. Something Obama is not. And I have no intention of trying to frighten any one away. Merry Christmas.

      • http://YAHOO Linda

MERRY CHRISTMAS MERRY CHRISTMAS MERRY CHRISTMAS, GOD BLESS AMERICA GOD BLESS AMERICA GOD BLESS AMERICAN AND TRUE GOD FEARING GOD LOVING PEOPLE TO THE REST OF YOU GFYSWATB4.

      • http://BobLivingston Suzanne

Right on! I couln’t have said it better! I work in the public and have been told Merry Christmas more times than I can count, not one Happy Holidays! If you get away from the media & politicans, I believe the majority of Americans feel the same!

    • Richard Pawley

An excellent article, from the heart and based on truth. Of course “truth” like “freedom” is something that the politically correct can only wonder and debate about. Their house is built on sand and their thoughts are like the unrepentant Grinch. Christmas has been celebrated since the days of ancient Rome. It was first a pagan holiday that was adopted at the time so Christians could celebrate the gift of their savior and still have a popular holiday that was known to all. However, I can imagine some in ancient Rome, saying something like, “Well, if Nero thinks these Christians are a danger than they must me” as they watched them being fed to the Lions. “Bread and Circus’s” they called it then, today it’s free health care paid by anyone who earns over $25,000 and a hundred other freebies (or so they think). THERE IS NOTHING FREE IN THIS WORLD BUT GOD’S GRACE! If our nation were a legitimate company they would have long ago have been forced to file for bankruptcy. Even the president has said our spending is unsustainable and yet he wants us to spend more for health care and energy and troops and who knows what else. Of course, President Obama will be blamed for the economic crisis that is coming, just as Hoover was in our grandparent’s time, and some analysts think this one could last 20 years or until we get our budget under control but that will not happen as long as we can just keep borrowing and raising the national debt. This debt is now so big it can only be paid with inflation and you won’t believe what food and fuel will cost in the future. However, the guilt for the destruction of our way of life should be equally shared by Congress who are throwing away the future of our children and grandchildren by their frivolous and incessant spending. You cannot solve a problem caused by spending to much, by spending more. A child could see that! While it can be said that the insane spending and bloated budgets of Congress and the usurping of power by bureaucracies of all kinds (including the Supreme Court as Chip points out) is “a” cause of much of our distress, an even greater cause is that we have not acknowledged God in our affairs or given Him His place of honor as did those who founded this once great country. Please don’t take objection to my use of the term “‘once great” until you have read my politically incorrect book on the subject. By the way, my definition of political correctness is that it is God’s punishment to mankind for sin! When I look at the United States I can feel somewhat like Jesus must have felt when he looked over his beloved Jerusalem knowing that it would be destroyed in a few decades by the Romans and that it’s glory would be a thing of history. The Bible says He wept, but at least He warned those who would listen to pack up and get out when they saw it about to happen (all mentioned in the Bible). As a follower of Jesus I can look over our “America the Beautiful” and lament that we have allowed those who cannot see her as we do, to begin to dismantle her great institutions and replace them with a socialist and eventually totalitarian form of government. Can we stop this train from wrecking? Can we stop our ship of state from sinking? Could the Jews have stopped the advancing Roman armies in 70 AD if they had taken Jesus seriously and prepared? I do not know. Sadly, I’m inclined to think that we have gone to far and are now deserving of God’s chastisement, but perhaps we can keep the ship from sinking altogether like the Titanic. The major voices of those who keep spending are the Benedict Arnold’s of the 21st Century, heroes to some, traitors to others. I cannot believe they are ignorant of what they are doing or else they have deceived even themselves in their mad lust for power. I think we have allowed them to create problems that are now bigger than we can solve. Only with God’s help can we put our house in order but the ACLU want’s Him and our constitution out of the way. We base new programs and health bills on fantasy financial projections. We imagine that corruption will just go away and we are destroying what we say we are trying to save and build. Congress is already trying to raise the national debt, again, and again, and again. When will the Chinese and all the others who have been paying for all this wise up and stop supporting our ‘habit’ and loaning us the money or is that their plan to destroy the USA? Is that why we have begun this year, for the first time in history, to just print money and pretend that it is real? In my autobiography three years ago I had one long final chapter on the economy and the coming stock crash and economic crisis and I quoted one of the top Chinese military experts on the topic of “financial war!” It is not a game to them! Doesn’t the populace realize that our national debt can never be paid except by inflation and if we keep raising the National Dept and printing money like it was worth something that we are just increasing that inflation until we will all be impoverished millionaires? The Chinese know that and that is why they are telling their citizens to take at least 5% of their savings and buy gold which is sold in every bank and post office in China. How bad can it get when you just keep printing and not producing? In Zimbabwe it costs well over a trillion dollars – yes A TRILLION dollars – for a loaf of bread but when Clinton was president I’m told it used to cost just $3. Congress has long ago spent all the monies taken out of our paychecks for social security and medicare and now they want to raise taxes (and fees, and fines) to get back what they have spent. We must stop the spending and tighten our belts or we are all going to be hungry in the future. We have become the spoiled brats of the western world. Once we were great innovators and inventors but now we have been reduced to that ugly word “Consumers.” Why not “destroyers” or “devourers”? CONSUMERS! By the way you can add ‘political correctness’ to the list of modern sins. God has not forgotten the United States but while I won’t call upon Him to curse the US as did Obama’s former minister it seems that He will let us have our way without His influence of justice and hope and morality and peace, if that is what we truly want. Perhaps as He blessed ancient Israel when they came to their senses He will once again bless us if we come to ours. Perhaps this Christmas, when we once again celebrate His incredible offering of LOVE we can turn to Him once again and ask Him to forgive us of our sin and guide us through the tumultuous times ahead. Perhaps he will give us one more chance and He will stop those evil men who would even keep us from bowing our head to say grace before a meal if we are in a public place. For those few who still believe in the truths of the Bible remember that it says to pray for your leaders, not hate them. Paul, one of the great founders of Christianity was once a persecutor of Christians. People can change so if you are a believer – pray. Long live the United States! May God once again bless America, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

      • usmadgirl

This is a great article by Chip Wood!

        Richard Pawley,

Enjoyed your comment. I haven’t read your book but plan to. I’m in the process of attempting to write a book, but it’s difficult when you have your own business & have to work at least 16 hours per day to barely make a living. I’m not writing it to get “wealthy”. I just want to buy my small new house (that I’m leasing) before I die!

When I was in grammar school, we had Bible class once a week & looked forward to it…Christians & Jewish children. We allowed one atheist, Madalyn Murray O’Hare, & one Unitarian, Edward Schempp to take Bible out of our schools in 1963 (I think). Why? What gave these two the right to destroy the rights of the majority? We’ve become so complacent that we’ve just let our Constitutional rights be trampled by just a few evil nitwits without so much as a whimper, let alone a protest until the “Tea Party” movement!

I admire the “Tea Party” protestors! Finally, normal, American freedom-loving people, Conservatives, standing up for their rights! But even their peaceful protests are smeared as “violent, angry, terrioristic mobs” (yet we can’t call a true terriorist, a terriorist) by all the media except Fox News.

The only hope I have is God’s Word “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray & seek my face & turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven & will forgive their sin & will HEAL THEIR LAND”. 2 Chronicles 7:14

If we, as Christians, all pray TOGETHER for forgiveness of our own sins & the country’s sins of allowing it to be taken over by the ungodly, then maybe he will “heal our land”!

Also, PC people need to KNOW that this is Christmas! They can celebrate any holiday they choose, but WE’re going to celebrate the birth of our Savior whether they like it or not! The politically correct can just get over it!

Merry Christmas & God Bless Our Country that’s being assaulted & destroyed by the Progressive Politically Correct!!!

      • Joe H.

        USmadgirl,
Thank you, Iwas going to post something here and you opened for me with your bible school containing even Jewish children.
I was going to say that with Hannuka that only the jewish really had a right to be upset as their holiday falls during Christmas, but I haven’t even had one Jewish person try to stop me from saying Merry Christmas. I ven send some Jewish friends Christmas cards and they send me Happy Hannuka Cards. None of them are ever upset, in fact I had one tell me it shows that I am thinking of them therefore it’s good!!! Please don’t bring up Kwannza as it started less than 100 years ago here in the United States!!!

Kwanzaa started less than 100 years ago? It started in 1966.

        Joe H,

Thank you! Years ago, I worked for a wholesale store owned by two Jewish men. They hired me to fill & decorate Easter Baskets to sell to retail stores, but kept me on as a sales clerk. At Hanukkah, I wrapped all the family presents for every night of Hanukkah, but they had Christmas for all the Christian employees. It was great! Even Bernie Goldberg defends Christmas & the right for Christians to celebrate. He also likes for people to wish him a “Merry Christmas”. I think most American Jews feel pretty much the same!

Everything was fine until the “Progressive Politically Correct” instigators. Right now on Fox, they’re showing where vandals destroyed the town’s Christmas decorations in Frankfort, NY. Mean people make me sad!

You people want to follow the Constitution literally, but when we do, then you go all batty, as you don’t get to use the greeting or pray in schools like you want. Dudes, the Constitution protects people from people like you all…….. Can’t have it both ways. P.S. the churches shouldn’t be getting government subsidies either, and should be losing their tax exemption when they mix religion with politics or lobbying.

EYO, exactly right…the constitutional literalists aren’t at all consistent. They use the document when it’s convenient and want to ignore or ammend or reinterpret it when it doesn’t support their wacky view.

“‘Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion.’ These were the first ten words of the American Bill of Rights, and they were a miracle of history. For the first time in human experience, the legislative power of a nation was forbidden from legislating the conscience of man. There would be no establishment of religion, no state church or official religion. Faith would be celebrated but not commanded. Worship would be protected but not prescribed. The founders had even guaranteed it by a second phrase they added to these historic first ten words. Not only would Congress ‘make no law respecting the establishment of religion,’ but it would also never ‘prohibit the free expression thereof.’ Together these sixteen words stood guard on the ramparts of the new nation against the tyrannical tendencies of the centuries.”

This is an extended quote from “Ten Tortured Words” (2007) by New York Times best selling author, Stephen Mansfield. In this extremely well researched work, Mr. Mansfield explores and refutes the many deliberate delusions put forth by the pagan Left in its attempt to destroy the influence of Christian principles in our government, the concepts that help prevent them from gaining tyrannical control over our nation. The obvious truth in this matter is shockingly different from that presented by the treasonous MSM and it’s cowardly toadies in government. Mr. Mansfield’s book will open the eyes of those who want to see the truth without regard to what is considered by the thoroughly deceived Left to be politically correct.

The ACLU is a left wing organization of course they want Christ out of Christmas. They are afraid of God because they are godless. Even the devil acknowledges God and His Son, Jesus Christ. I send the ACLU a Merry Christmas greetings. Not because I like them or hate them because I want them to know that God sent His Son to died for them too.If they are stupid enough to not know Jesus Christ,, I feel sorry for them, the ACLU living in this country and not know Christ. What a lost. When they those in ACLU leave this world they, those in ACLU will know what they have done wrong by then it will be too late.
