Random Musings on the Date Which Lives in Infamy

Sixty-eight years ago today, at about 7:55 a.m. local time, Japanese bombs began falling on the United States military installations Wheeler Field and Hickam Field in Hawaii, signifying the beginning of the attacks on Pearl Harbor.

That attack—which killed 2,390 sailors, airmen, soldiers and civilians—officially drew America into World War II. Until Sept. 11, 2001, that attack was the deadliest on American soil (2,976 died that day). As war was declared on Japan the next day, President Franklin D. Roosevelt called it, “a date which will live in infamy…”

On Aug. 15, 1945, President Harry S. Truman accepted the surrender of the Japanese. One of the terms of the surrender was that Emperor Hirohito would be allowed to remain on the throne.

Gen. Douglas MacArthur first met Hirohito on Sept. 27, 1945. In a black and white image preserved from that meeting, a casually dressed MacArthur towers over the diminutive, formally attired Hirohito. As historian Carol Gluck told the Public Broadcast System (PBS) in a documentary on World War II, “What does it say? It says, I’m MacArthur, supreme commander of the Allied Powers, and I’m in charge.”

The Bow Seen Round the World

Last month, President Barack Obama met Japan’s current emperor, Akihito, who happens to be the son of Hirohito. A color image of that meeting shows Obama bowing at an almost 45 degree angle to the son of the man who presided over a country that dropped bombs on our countrymen.

What does that image say? As an unnamed expert on the Japanese empire told ABC’s Jake Tapper (as reported on Tapper’s blog), “The bow (Obama) performed did not just display weakness in Red State terms, but evoked weakness in Japanese terms… The last thing the Japanese want or need is a weak-looking American president and, again, in all ways, he unintentionally played that part.”

Unlike President Richard Nixon’s bow to Hirohito or President Bill Clinton’s bow to Akihto—who both bowed slightly, as equals—Obama bowed as an inferior.

Never mind more than 200 years of U.S. State Department protocol that said “thou need not bow,” three presidents have. But the most glaring bow is Obama’s, who also bowed to the king of Saudi Arabia last spring.

What would Thomas Jefferson—who penned in the Declaration of Independence the words, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal…”—say about Obama’s bow?

The Founding Fathers, after having suffered under the rule of a king, didn’t take kindly to royalty. As Article 1, Section 9 of the Constitution says, “No title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States…”

Those statements answer the Jefferson question. Even better are the words of President Theodore Roosevelt: “If I see another king, I think I shall bite him.”

Now Will Obama Bow to the Global Warming Liars?

Having spent his formative years in Indonesia rather than the U.S., Obama apparently doesn’t understand that Americans are subservient to no one. This thought causes great consternation as Obama heads to the United Nations (U.N.) Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen this week.

As I wrote in U.N Using Climate to Push One World Government Reforms, Obama is expected to bow to the climate change/One World Government crowd even as the house of cards that built up the man-made global warming hysteria comes crashing down.

In case you missed it—and it wouldn’t be surprising considering the U.S. mainstream media has ignored the scandal—emails between man-made global warming proponent scientists have either been hacked or leaked. The emails show what many—including me—have said: that the “science” of global warming has been completely fabricated, with numbers fudged and critical opposing views deleted or omitted.

Man-made climate change “science” is the abode of today’s anti-capitalist, anti-freedom communists. The so-called consensus of global warming science has been created on a fraud of speculation and corrupted data.

That Obama’s team would continue—in the face of forced resignations of the proponent scientists and calls for investigations—to claim man-made global warming is settled science demonstrates the Copenhagen meeting is not about climate change at all. It’s about control.

Or, as global warming skeptic Lord Christopher Monckton claims, “a world government is going to be created.”

Rather than a bow, if Obama agrees to this it’s more of a bend-over-and-grab-the-ankles moment… for all Americans.

    Hey Winnie,
Did it ever occur to you that it isn’t arrogance to KNOW the CUSTOMS of other countries and act accordingly.
It has to do with perception by them, not arrogance by us!
They will perceive us as subservient if we appear that way from our officials. DUH!!!!
BTW do you remember 9/11? That is what happens when you don’t act properly to the
    foreign people.

    • http://n/a Winnie

Red River, it is because of the attitudes and actions of the top American leaders that you are perceived to be arrogrant and above the rest of the citizens of the world. 9/11 happened not because freedom of the USA is hated but because of the arrogance the americans show to other cultures and to other countries. I know that the majority of the americans are good and decent. It just takes a few of your arrogant leaders to make them all look bad. You always have to show the rest of the world how strong and powerful you are. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Remember that phrase? When your forefathers came to North and South America, they forgot to follow their own saying, instead they tried to kill all the original peoples.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

No, 9-11 happened because there is a band of people called muslims that seek to kill all who do not think like them, and seek to take control of the world. Has nothing to do with how they are treated or were treated. Nothing to do with that at all. It has to do with a bunch of cold blooded murderers who get a thrill out of killing innocents. Come on man, whats wrong with you. These guys willingly and knowingly strap bombs on the back of their 10 year old children and march them into a bus and blow it all up. And you defend them with this statement you made? Your one sick puppy pal. You need help.

      • Norm

        Beberoni
9-11 occured because a small group of radical Muslims (15 out of 19 were Saudis who were trained in Afghanistan) attacked America to avenge America’s support for Israel.
To most arabs, including our friends like Jordan, Eygpt, and Saudi Arabia, Israel is the “little satan”. They believe the Israelis occupy arab land and many are willing to die to see Israel destroyed.
Israel will never be destroyed as long as the US supports it. We supply money, weapons, technology, and military insurance. We,the US, are therefore the “big satan”.
As horrible as 9-11 was, it was a brillient move for our enemies. The total cost to their side was less than 1 million dollars and their casualties were miniscule. We’ve invested nearly a trillion dollars and thousands of men and women have been killed and maimed. Whose winning?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

We are, because we are trying to make a difference in the world for freedom for someone other that ourselves. If you dont recognize the giving in that, then I cant help you. If you determine winning and losing by money, then money is your God, and your in deep weeds.

      • Rod James

Hey Beberoni!!, None of need your help.Your no phyciatrist just arrogant and oppinionated. GIVE US A BREAK!!

      • eyeswideopen

Berb, if you think the Iraq war was to help someone achieve freedom, you are really smoking the happy weed way too much.

      • denniso

Beb…you think we’re winning?? We’ve lost thousands of soldiers and maimed another 80,000 and we’re not done w/ the wars!! How the hell can we be winning?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

We have lost more people to car crashs in the same period, should we ban driving cars? Almost as many soldiers died during the Clinton admin, and we werent even in a war then. Hows that stack up for you? How did that happen. Please explain away in your left wing liberal diatribe. Peace is only obtained through force, always has, and always will be that way. Sometimes things get ugly, but its got to be done. Or, we could just keep standing there as they punched away hitting us in the nose time and time again, and just reach for another cigar, and just keep looking the other way, while they set up shops and blow up World Trade Centers, and still you want to take it and not do nothing. That is what truly amazes me. You would have our innnocent people blown up and dead, and you want to say, “gee whiz, if we do nothing theyll go away”. Think again. Gimme a break.

      • denniso

“almost as many soldiers died during Clinton’s time”???Now that’s an outright lie. Almost no soldiers died during his term. Look it up before you spout..You’re doing what Limbaugh does..Wrong!!

      • http://aol Don

        Not Muslims – radical Muslims.

  • RedRiverD

You know, as President of this Great Nation, you would think that this guy would have at least LEARNED the “CUSTOMS” of the countries that he is visiting so as not to look too stupid. Guess not.

  • http://n/a Winnie

My God!!!! And you call yourselves “Americans”? “Christians”? Take a lesson from the Son of your God, Jesus Christ. He washed the feets of his people. He would bow down to the poorest, dirtiest, non-whitest person in the world. And you sing his praises. He never in his whole life put anyone under or above Him. He was never “superior” to anyone. His weakness was His strength(if you call bowing to others a weakness). Money was not His god. He did not have to win at all costs. All he wanted was for us to treat His children good and show them respect. Shame on you “real Americans”. How about becoming the citizens of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Each and everyone of you are all citizens of the United States of America. Remember that ARROGANCE is one of the capital sins.

    • s c

Winnie, if you are TRULY concerned about the way most Americans see comrade obama, then kindly get in touch with him and remind him about the downside of RAW ARROGANCE.
I get the impression that you’re just another progressive ultraliberal with way too much free time on your ‘concerned’ hands. If comrade obama is above being ARROGANT, I’m a weekend
      community organizer.

      • http://n/a Winnie

to sc and lowell. sc, take a good look at your past president and vice president. They are the definition of arrogance. For Cheney, the only good american is white and christian. Arrogance does not bow down to anybody but their own and even then, maybe not. Better to be tuffy than to try and understand the ways of the people.

To lowell, have you listened to glenn, palin, cheney limbaugh, and the other “real americans”? They are white, christian, and arrogant. And for your informatiuon, I am a Yupik Eskimo born and raised in Alaska both Traditionally and in the Roman Catholic religion. I learned about and experienced racism from the white folks of the good old United States of America.

      • Joe H.

        Winnie,
Have you ever listened to Rush? Obviously not!!! The Mr. Snerdly he speaks to on the show is a B.L.A.C.K Man!!!! Rush has enough money to hire who he pleases and HE controls his show. He hired a black man because he wanted to!! Don’t be illiterate!!!

      • http://n/a Winnie

So what! He’ still white, christian, and arrogant.

      • DaveH

Wow Winnie, talk about being a bigot. Oh, I know, only white people can be bigots.

      • http://n/a Winnie

Dave H. Again, I learned well about racism and bigitry from the white folks of the good old US of A

      • DaveH

Have you ever heard, Winnie, that two wrongs don’t make a right?
I have long known that people have some sort of inherent need to lump people together. If we all had the same skin color, we would discriminate based on nose size, or some other superficial difference. What productive purpose does it serve to carry on with such prejudices?

      • eyeswideopen

Winnie, darling, these men won’t let you call a spade a spade, when it comes to the Bush family. You are right, if you look at the Republican party legislators, they are white, old, and profess to be Christians. Notice hardly any women in office, which is to their advantage. My girlfried in Germany, reads these posts, has been getting the newspapers from here and she can’t believe that the Republican dare to call themselves Christians. She is really upset that Richard Cohen has gotten Uganda to pass a law to kill gays. Prejudice is born out of fear of difference. I can imagine the racism you have endured, and I am sorry for that.

      • http://aol Don

Dave, you definitely win on name calling.

      • denniso

Eyes….nice comment and I salute Winnie as well. It is amazing to the rest of the world that we have so many so called Christians that are nothing but violent hypocrites.

      • Claire

Community organizers do a lot for their community.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Jesus Christ did all these things you mention, as His sole purpose was to come and to serve man. He taught us not to be prideful or arrogant. This man now in office is the most arrogant man I have ever seen as our President. Arrogant and prideful, and pride comes before the fall, and he is falling even as we speak. Ive said it before, I dont mind the cultural bowing thing, but I abhor it when he bows with his words, and throws our country under the bus to try to warm himself to our enemies. That act is destestable.

      • eyeswideopen

Sounds like a socialist program that Jesus was teaching.

      • http://aol Don

Has Obama killed 100,000 men, women, and children in any recent war for any reason? If he has, he really is arrogant that is if you value life?

      • denniso

        Beb…you’re joking,right??

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

        No, BO is destestable. Fact.

  • James Kenderdine

You ignore the significant differences in the circumstances in which they met with the Emperor of Japan:
MacArthur was the Supreme Commander of the Allied Armies which had defeated Japan and forced her to surrender and a long and bitter war.
President Obama was a visiting Head of State observing the customs of the country he was visiting. I have lived in Japan, and there EVERYONE bows to EVERYONE. It is a sign of mutual respect, much as a handshake in the US and Europe.
There is a time gap of 54 years between the two meetings-almost a full generation. And the current Emperor is not the same one who allowed WWII to start and who surrendered.

To characterize our President’s action as “more of a bend-over-and-grab-the-ankles moment” displays a woeful ignorance of both history and Japanese culture.

    • denniso

James..good comment, now watch the hooligans attack you for your rational tone.
Winnie below…Your right, most of these people profess their love of jesus and then spout hate and fear.

  • Bruce

Dear People, Have any of you done any looking into the Copenhagen agreement? If you have then many of the comments made above would not be here.
Let me spell it out for you so you all get it; #1, When signed by #44, the “United States Constitution and Bill of Rights” is then {Nul and Void.} Thats right folks the UN One World Government is then in place and we are just one more cog in that wheel.
If that fails to get you.

Lets now toss in the few other goodies; You will only be allowed to use a % of energy based on what the “ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT” feels you should have.
Now the straight talk, do you own two homes, or even say a rental. How this will effect you, your energy allotment will be based on a single home, thus you will have to (split your enery allotment) between the two.
Yes, you can in fact buy extra credits thats a fact, do you have any idea what thats going to cost you? No, but heres a good base idea for you to kick around, think 30 – 60% above your base cost, of what will more than likly be going up at least 20% I feel it will be more in line with 50%.

Ok not quite up to par yet, well here’s just a tad more for you. Thinking about selling your home someday? I bet somewhere along the line you will. So how its written is; (complying to the green effect to promote a positive enviroment to reduce carbon foot prints.)
    Whats that mean?
Its simple if your home was made prior to 2006, you are more than likly going to need to refit your home to “GREEN STANDARDS”
Now whats that mean to YOU, well heres a base list; {replaced pluming, replaced heating and cooling systems, replaced windows, replaced insulation, replaced wiring, replaced wood and plactic products, Replaced lighting, Replaced drywall, replaced paint, replaced roofing.)
Ok are you getting it yet?

Lets say not yet, so you now have replaced your home and now can’t afford to sell it as now you have more invested than its worth on the market.
Well then you have to have an inspection to be sure you meet GREEN STANDARDS, oh and YOU pay for that too. If any part fails, well you will be fined.

But wait theres even more, this is all based on total lies, why to gain control of the world the Whole Global Warming thing.
Millions in poor nations and JFTR we are in that boat now are going to loose what ever they had as investments! Yea Baby now thats just super.
But heres the back hand deal, YOU as Americans oh and just for the record that also included Europeans too, we have used our share of energy in case you failed to graps that “CARBON FOOT PRINT” factoid.
Thus you will all be faced with a NEW TAX, aka the “Carbon Foot Print Tax” though I don’t have the exact name of this new tax yet it sure sounds good right?
Think of this TAX as a war reprations TAX your going to be paying places like MEXICO, or Africia for your being alive.
Will the people of these countrys get this money, “NO” but the governments will and they are not going to spend it on the PEOPLE, as they have never done so yet, and are not going to do so any time soon.

But wait, theres more the people of these areas will be slowly eliminated by what ever method, do you think the press will be showing starving folks from Africia where your Trillions of TAX dollars are going?

Vote in 2010, yea; ok what ever, do you really think your VOTE is worth the paper its on? Get ready folks for the NEW WORLD ORDER, its over, now the deal is going to be sealed.

Dear Joe, there is no differance between Bush and R McD.

    • Joe H.

      Dear Bruce,
No the lack of difference definitely goes to O-man. he is definitely a clown and a joke!!!

    • Cribster

Although this is a word that stirs my ire that was a very “comprehensive” list Bruce. Well done!

    • Sukhotai

      Bruce,
The only eror with what you are saying is you fail to mention that the congress of the United States must ratify his signature for it to be held as valid. We can all still hope that they are not all as ignorant as Mr Wonderful. Like the other earlier gentleman said, “I” do not accept his word or signature for anything, nor did I give him permission to commit me to anything.

      Sukhotai

      • DaveH

        Sukhotai,
Many of the Congressmen are indeed ignorant or malicious. We just need to ride herd on them to make sure they don’t vote away our Sovereignty.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Bush and R.McD are both loved by most Americans.

      • Joe H.

        Berberoni,
then is it o.k. if I compare him to Barney the purple dinosaur? There’s actually an I hate Barney club in Fla!!!!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I havent like Barney since he threatened Ian St. Ian.

      • Claire

Ronald McDonald is loved, I’m not sure about Bush since there is no comparison between the two.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Actually, while Ronald has helped many, Bush has saved many many more.

      • Rod James

Beberoni, I wonder if most Americans would love Bush if they knew some history about the family. The library of congress and the national archives have much information on how Presscot Bush and George senior were WAR PROFITEERS courtesy the Nazi Party. They were on the board of directors for the Union Bank(the Us branch of Fritz Thyssen Nazi bank)
The Union Bank was siezed by the US government under the trading with the enemy act in 1942. There is plenty of proof that they both knew they were traitors but profit was number one for them. They also on behave of BBH (part of the Harriman conglomerate for who they worked)put pressure on President Roosevelt to cancel plans to save Jews.

      • Claire

Rod James—you sure didn’t get a reply on this one.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I think he did. If you can read, its there.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

If you believe that kind of crap. Which left wing liberal wrote it? John Kerry? John Edwards? So going on what you say about the past, I should hate the Germans because they kicked my great great great grandfather out of Germany and took his castle and his fortune from him, and told him to leave or die. So since the previous Germans were this way, do I hold the current Germans guilty of this? Of course not. I dont need 90 acres and a mule to be made whole. Those were those people then as was my great great great grandfather, and those over there now and myself here are totally different people. So your supposed connections mean nothing to me, other than you are full of hate. Give it a rest. Bush is gone ok, its over. Find someone new to blame for your feeling like a failure.

      • Rod James

Beberoni, That kind of crap (which is what their actions were) is on file in The Library of Congress and The National Archives so it is FACT. Sorry to pop your ballon on your much loved hero Bush but don’t cry there are other WAR PROFITEERS and TRAITORS for you to cheer for.
Also Bush started shredding the constitution with the Patriot Act and as I have said doesn’t matter Rep or Demo President does what he is told so Obama will tow the line for the Global Elite lets say financial power brokers.

      • DaveH

OK Rod, first of all I dislike the Patriot Act a lot. But you know what? I would take somebody eavesdropping on my conversations any day over the theft that your party promotes. If they aren’t taking peoples’ money outright through spending and taxes, they are taking it surreptiously through spending and borrowing which produces the hidden tax of inflation which destroys peoples’ hard earned savings.

      • eyeswideopen

Rod, I am surprised that anyone would dare to state the truth about the Bush’s. I am still upset with myself for voting into office a draft dodger, with no integrity or ethics, who caused this country to loose it’s moral base and get involved in a war with an innocent country. Thanks for having the guts to print the truth.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You and Rod need to go light another fire, sit around and sing kumbaya, bash the military and freedom, then call on them to come save you like the Frenchmen do, because that is how you sound, just like them. Slam, slam, slam, then “help me Mr. American, save me”. Yep, thats you.

    • denniso

Bruce…where in hell do you get this junk from that you spout?? There is no truth to any of it, at all. Do you just make your rantings up out of thin air or are you getting it from some delided hero of yours??

      • DaveH

Let’s see some supported facts Harpy.

      • Rod James

DaveH, To what party are you refering? I have never stated supporting any political party! Evesdropping on phone conversations is a small part of the Patriot act the powers that be can grab you or any American citizen call you a terrorist and send you of to god knows where without legal representation or even a phone call! You have less and less rights as a US citizen every day which is exactly the opposite of what America used to stand for FREEDOM!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You might have less, but I dont, nope, not at all. Why, they can listen to every phone call I make, who cares. I dont, but I guess thats because Im a law abiding citizen with nothing to hide. I could care less. If it means catching someone doing something they shouldnt be doing, most likely illegal and damaging to this country, Im all for it. In fact Id be willing to pay taxes to support it. In fact, Id like to hear the phone calls between George Soros and the White House and high ranking democrats right now. I think all of us Americans should be entitled to hear them. You blind followers just might find out a thing or two.

      • eyeswideopen

DaveH, looks like Rod, isn’t going to let you spew your normal crap without calling you out. This is going to be interesting.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You and rod have no clue. But Im glad you found a bandwagon to ride on, after all you are a follower.

  • DONELL DUMOND

A ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT WILL BE CREATED AT THE COPENHAGEN SUMMIT IF PRESIDENT OBAMA AGREES OR SIGNS A TREATY. FREEDOM AS I HAVE KNOWN IT SINCE CHILDHOOD AND WHAT I WAS TAUGHT IN ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL WILL BE LOST FOREVER. THE WAY THE U.S IS HEADING IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE PEOPLE OF THE U.S WHO HAVE KNOWN AND APPRECIATED FREEDOM FOR OUTSIDE GOVERNMENT INTERVENTIONS ARE CONCERNED. WHY DOESN’T OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS LISTEN TO THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS. THE GLOBAL WARMING, OR SHOULD I BE POLITICALLY CORRECT, THE CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE WILL RAISE THE COST OF U.S GOODS AND GIVE TO THE POOR NATIONS.

    • DaveH

      Donell,
Man-Made Global Warming has been thoroughly debunked. The only people who still fear it are those who haven’t bothered to do any research.

      • DaveH

It is simply a tool in the hands of the politicians who want to finish taking what’s left of our freedom.

      • denniso

daveH..simply put, you’re WRONG once more on global warming!! READ the actual science and turn off Limbaugh and Beck. You’re deluded by your allegiance to those blowhards and other fools, and of course, the energy corporations.

      • DaveH

        Denniso,
I don’t expect to wake you up. My comments are for the people whose ears aren’t bookends to a vacuum.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Its a lie denniso, the planet has cooled since the seventies. Check it out, and discover the truth, or buy into it and write Al Gore a check. Thats what he wants, thats all he is in it for. A little bit of cash.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Pal, seriously, look into what the geological scientist say about this. Almost all agree that its a lie by Al Gore and the environmentalists to further their liberal agenda to make money for themselves and their organizations. Now Al Gore will bring in scientists who grow cultures in petrie dishes, but they dont know squat about this, as do the geological scientists that study this stuff. They seem to almost all say, that the planet has cooled since the 70′s, and that the polar ice caps are growing bigger each year. Check it out, if your at all interested in the truth. Or, just send Al Gore a check in the mail, as thats all he is in it for, is to get rich. Bank on it.

      • s c

DaveH, you’ve found a good way to define 99.99% of all progressive ultraliberals. That is, people who don’t like to read, may not be able to read, can’t find the time to read, confuse reading with being a conservative and
wouldn’t be caught dead reading (especially if they’re elected and are taking up valuable space in Washington).
Do you think comrade obama will take time to READ anything in Nopenhagen?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

He might read it if it is put in his telestrator, but I doubt if he would understand any of it. When he reads his telestrator, he is doing just that, reading. There is no heart in it, its all just like a play to him and his democrat lefties. They have no heart, just the quest for control and power, and it shows oh so bad.

I am currently reading the book “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming” by Christopher Horner. It is riddled with statements from environmentalists. You should read this book if you want a revelation on just how wacked out these environmentalists can be:

Hey, Dave, I just found out that Charles Koch, the 9th richest man in the world, is who funds the Cato Institute that you rave about and refer everyone too. After reading about him and his brother, and how they use their money, sounds like you are supporting someone who is as bad as George Soros. Actually they have more money, so they are a bigger threat. Maybe you should check them out. Or did you already know that your beloved institute is controled by the super rich?

      • DaveH

        The Harpy returns.

      • Curtis S

Hey Eyes, I like the Cato Institute because that’s where one of my heroes works. I would be disappointed if PJ O’Rourke worked and wrote for a bunch of wankers.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Sorry eyes, once again you are off the mark. There is no one as bad as George Soros anywhere, and there is only one party in bed with him, the democrats.

    • DaveH
      • Curtis S

Hahaha. Jon Stewart absolutely skewered that report tonight! Thanks for reminding me.
Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Americans say it’s at least somewhat likely that some scientists have falsified research data to support their own theories and beliefs about global warming. Thirty-five percent (35%) say it’s Very Likely. Just 26% say it’s not very or not at all likely that some scientists falsified data.

        59% + 35% + 26% = 120%!!!!

If you’re quoting polls that add-up to 120% you’re in trouble!!! lol

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Come on man, Jon Stewart? Like he is a reputable guy to follow. Really, the ha ha is on you. He is like listening to Al Franken. Oh sorry, you probably find him wise also. So to you then, I have to say…….HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Your choice of inspiration wisdom is lacking.

  • Bill

I not only find the information from you very informative I do feel it is absolutely necessary for survival today. Thank you for your efforts

  • Robert

To all those who served and died in WWll, my appologies for this knucleheads actions. You truly deserve better from a US President.

  • Earl G

Not only did the USA fund Japan’s resurgence as an industrial power, we have spent the last 68 years defending their shores with our military; at what cost? If your interested in true Japanese wartime behavior well beyond that of the Bataan Death March, check out Imperial Army Unit 731. At 64, I’m not here because of the Japs, I’m here in spite of their best efforts.

  • Joe H.

I suppose that the murder of innocent women and children can be explained away that way also? I suppose shooting prisoners for not talking is explained away that way too? give me a break,David!!!

    Norm,
Yes I know Bush is Gone, He was replaced by Ronald McDonald!!!

    • Claire

Ronald McDonald is a good guy. He has helped a lot of kids and their families.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You mean the murder of all the innocent women and children on 9-11. All killed by a foreign invader, in pursuit of his muslim ideals. I hope thats what you meant, if you are indeed, a true American.

  • David Long

Let us not raise cultural ignorance to an art form, and inflict harm on ourselves and our country. When you walk into a Japanese person’s home, out of respect, you take your shoes off. It’s a cultural thing. When you enter a Jewish synagogue or Christian church, out of respect, you wear appropriate clothing and behave in the appropriate manner. It’s a cultural thing. When sitting in an American classroom you remove your hat to show respect to the teacher. It’s a cultural thing. When you are careful never to give insult by showing an Egyptian the bottom of your shoes when sitting in his or her presence, it’s a cultural thing. Our downed WWII pilots were treated more harshly than they otherwise would have been by the Japanese because they were culturally unaware that bowing in the Asian culture is a sign of respect and not weakness.
How does it help the interests of the United States if, out of our cultural ignorance, we require our representatives to begin all diplomatic missions by insulting their hosts? The answer is obvious.

    • DaveH

      Respect goes both ways David.

      • DaveH

Here in the US we believe in individual freedom and equality. We need bow to no man.

      • Norm

        Keep buying Toyotas dave.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Quite a good car. I myself prefer Honda, and if lefty’s like you really were interest in the truth Normy Boy, most of your so called “American made” cars, contain more foreign made parts, including those cheap “made in Taiwan” parts, than Honda’s or Toyotas, that are made in mass here in the United States, with American made parts and American Labor. So go stuff yourself in a trunk pal.

      • Norm

        Beberoni
I was an engineer for a large bearing manufacturer for over 20 years. We made bearings for Ford, GM, and Chrysler. One our plants also made bearings for Honda (they needed more American content). They required that we use their machinery for several operations. Their methods were crude and outdated by our standards. Quite frankly we made beter bearings with our equimpment and processes than they did.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Some American companies remained making good parts Norm. As well they should. All of them should, but unfortunately they dont. But when it comes to good reliable cars, the proof is there Norm. Nobody makes a car that outlasts the Honda’s, Toyota’s and Mazda’s. Sorry, fact is, Ford, Chevy, Pontiac, Chrysler cant touch them. I dont make this up, its just the way it is. I have seen with my own eyes, nice looking Honda CRV’s with 500,000 miles on them, and still running great. Ive yet to see an American made car do that, not that maybe a few have, but most of them conk out at 150,000 miles. But this is just recently. For years American made cars wouldnt get to 80 to 100 thousand before they were shot. Like my wifes Chrysler Plymouth Reliant K Car, bought brand new in 1984 I believe. It was in the junkyard at 65,000 miles, and that was when Lee Iacocca said Chrysler was the best on the market, 7 year 70,000 miles warranty, only they didnt warranty it when it died, because all the oil changes werent done at the dealer.

      • eyeswideopen

Norm, Berb, thinks if it has American parts, it’s ok to purchase. He doesn’t quite get it that if Honda is on the car, Honda gets the profit. But maybe Honda is giving him free koolaid. lol.

      • DaveH

I quit buying American autos 30 years ago, because they were crap. Beberoni is right. If you want to buy crap cars for some political reason that is fine. I believe in your freedom of choice, even if you don’t believe in ours.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Dave is right, again. I also like to shop at Walmart. In your eyes, that makes me bad also, and of course, in your eyes, Walmart is bad and should be punished for being successful, as is the democratic way. You would like to take their profits, and give them to, oh, say GM and Chrysler, who have shown they dont know how to successfully run a business, yet you on the left, want to , and do, reward them. And you seek to punish the successful, like Walmart, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru and Honda. Maybe its because you on the left are such failures, you always need someone to give you a hand out and help you out, because your too busy curling up into the fetal position to help yourselves.

      • Joe H.

        DaveH,
These people need to do a little reading on customs. The depth of the bow and how it is executed are what determines what it represents. A deep bow with eyes cast down is a bow of defeat or submission. A short bow with the eyes cast to your opposites eyes is a bow of respect! O-man did a very deep bow with his eyes cast down so what did he project to the Japanese???

      • denniso

DaveH..you are indeed one very tough hombre!!!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Actually, Dave is a smart hombre and he speaks the truth with what he says, and he researches before he opens his mouth, so he knows what he is talking about.

      • DaveH

By the way, due to my immense respect for individual freedom, I think that is Obama’s business if he wants to bow. I believe those deep bows make him look buffoonish but that is his choice. I personally think he has his sights set on being the world leader but only Obama knows that for sure.

George W Bush is gone. The laughing has stopped.

      • Trisha

The one that has never lost a battle, the U.S. Navy from 1977 to 1981, achieving the rank of E-5 over 4 years. How about you, Pal? And girlscouts dont count.

      • Rod James

Beberoni, I think you should have said Thank Satan for a man like George Bush!

      • denniso

Rod…you’er right..Bush thinks he talks to God and God tells him who to invade..more likely he talks to the devil(if he were real),based on what his 8 yrs looked like. The worst president ever in our history..mass murderer and a fool to boot.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Obviously, you and denniso are satanic brothers, because you wouldnt recognize the hand of God if you seen in right in front of your face, and you obviously dont appreciate the fact that someone sacrificed their popularity to do what was right for this country. And you probably dont see that the democrats are doing everything in their power to sabotage all the gains in both Iraq and Afghanistan, because they do not want it to turn out well, so that they can continue to point the finger at Bush. If they would have stayed the course, he would be recognized as a great liberator, and they couldnt have that now, could they. Of course not. You two losers belong together.

      • Claire

Beberoni–have you heard anything about Bush/Cheney knowing about 9/11 before it happened? Have you read that they were warned beforehand?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I have heard that many things were sent to the Clinton cabinet about it, but that they never forwarded this intelligence to the Bush admin until after the fact. And I do know that we had all kinds of faulty intelligence, no doubt do to the fact that, if you didnt know, the intelligence community was cut in half during the 8 years of the Clinton admin, and was left in pieces when Bush came into office. So I can see why the intelligence coming in wasnt all that good back then. So go ahead, and blame Bush again. Oh yeah, and throw in Cheney too, because God knows, if you hate one you hate them both. Get over it Claire, they are gone. You cannot blame the current mistakes being made on them. Our leadership today is totally unqualified and it is showing. They make mistakes at every turn, and now have even gone as far as to inform the enemy when we are leaving. Nice professional military move. Unbelievable.

      • eyeswideopen

Berb, you are something else. Who do you think issued the departure date for Iraq? Yup, your good o’ boy, Bush. You are living in a fantasy world, get in touch with Bush, as he needs people like you to help him try and re-write history.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

One again eyes, you are lying. The democratic congress wanted to issue a date to pull out, and annouce it to our enemy, but the Bush admin refused to do it. You are in error, and your hatred consumes you.

  • David A. Celaschi

He(bo) needs to be removed (REMOVED) from the office of our country, along with all the rest who do not support our constitution and our laws (of the people, by the people,FOR THE PEOPLE)not for them selves.I do not have to name them, you all know who they are. When is every one going to wake up and see this for exactlywhat it is!These self proclaimed Hitlers are TAKING our country away from us for them selves!Where are our leaders ,our armies our GENARALS,whom are supposed to do the job they swore to do,UP HOLD THE CONSTTUTION OF THESES UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!Ijust find it very sad and dis-heartening that we are just going to stand by and let them do it,but we are!Where in GODS name is our courage! This is not revelation, yhis is REVOLUTION.As in the ppast its time to stand up and be counted! If we can’t stand then, then we are all lost. Consider this while you are drawing from your “pot-pipe” or is the kook-aid?
I can assure you that the Military is not tooo happy with the “commander-in-reign” They are committed to America; not to Obama!
How could they feel any desire to be led by this person who has almost condoned what the Fort Hood jihadist has done to our Soldiers on American soil? Obama refuses to use the word “Terrorist” and exemplifies his “true” Muslim breeding condoning Jihads and Shariah law.

Maybe the “party-animals” crashing the White House dinner was just a
trial run; to see how easy it would be to get in. Maybe the next time there will be a different outcome!!

Is the United States Military pleased with this leadership (with no
leadership qualification on military matters)? HELL NO!!!!

        Crackpots!

      • DaveH

No, Joe was just worried that she would have to endure a personal attack by the board Harpy.
I like it myself, as you are waking people up to the character of Liberals by example.

      • eyeswideopen

DaveH, as a Libertarian who is looking forward to a country with anarchy, it isn’t a stretch that you would be liking the sounds of violence against the President of the United States of America. Freely elected with a historic majority. Those like me, who are unhappy with their party, watch what people from the Libertarian party state, and when they condone violence, it means that your party is not what you profess, it is a scam just like the other two.

      • DaveH

You’re one sick puppy, Eyes. As usual trying to put words in my mouth. Keep it up and you will have no credibility with anybody who actually reads my comments. You already have no credibility with me.

I think if he walked out in front of them on the field of battle, in a place not seen by all, they would frag him. I have no doubt about this. He handcuffs and hamstrings our military, and sends young men into the deathbowl, while giving the enemy our withdrawal plans, which if you have anybrains, means we arent here to win, and many of our soldiers are being ordered not to fire. He and his democrat ilk have done their best to turn this into Vietnam II, where we have no intention of winning, and our guys are put at risk and not allowed to fire. They have to read Miranda rights, like these guys are U.S. Citizens or something. Its all wrong.

      • Joe H.

        Berberoni,
See my post to Pat above!!!

      • Claire

Joe H—this is exactly the hateful stuff that bothers me. All this hate and there are so many dysfunctional people out there. The dysfunctinal people are as bad as the terrorists. Think about it.

      • DaveH

        Claire,
Tyrannical leaders like people like you. Beberoni was just stating probable reality. He’s right, our good soldiers are being put in grave danger. Only the leaders’ lives count? Remember, they are supposed to represent us, not themselves.

      • Claire

Dave H–What do you mean “people like me?” I do not condone tyranny of any kind from anyone. And I certainly And yes, our soldiers come first. You know I believe that, and we should bring them home.

      • eyeswideopen

Berb, come on, the Republicans were all for staying in Afghanistan, what, now you decided you don’t want to stay? Every Repub Senator was giving Obama, crap, because he wouldn’t decide to send more troops after McChrystal asked, and now that he has agreed to send 30k, you are unhappy? Darling, Bush, made this a Viet Nam, war by starting with Iraq, you remember that war don’t you? The one we are fighting for no reason…….

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

They were when there was a plan in effect to actually win the clash and get the terrorists out of there. The current plan calls just to run some guys in, run them out, and cut and run, and they have even announced that to the enemy. If you cant see that, they you are curled up in the fetal position again.

    • DaveH

      David,
It’s probably quite a conflict for military personel because they are trained to follow and in the oath to uphold the Constitution, they also swear to obey the President.

“I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

And these men and women in the military, let there be no doubt to any of you, that these sons and daughters are the cream of the crop, the best of our youth. They deserve to be allowed on the battle field to do what it takes to survive and to win, not to worry about coming home to face a trial because they shot an enemy combatant, that now the democrats what to give a lawyer, pay for it, and prosecute this soldier for doing his job.

  • Chester Campbell

Let’s concentrate on the horrendous things Obama has done to hurt this country and not weaken the case by dwelling on trivialities. I was in World War II and it was a completely different time when MacArthur met the emperor. Today Japan is a valued ally. I have a Korean daughter-in-law, and when I met her parents in Inchon they bowed to me in greeting and I returned the bow. This is not like meeting European royalty. The bow is an Oriental greeting like our handshake. Everyone does it to everyone else. There is nothing subservient about it. So forget the bows and hit Obama where it hurts–bailouts, deficits, crashing dollar, healthcare, etc.

    What else is new?

  • http://publiushuldah.wordpress.com/ Publius Huldah

    Jack,
I am bombarded with emails saying things which are not true. Someone just makes this stuff up.

The TRUTH is that Judge Carter dismissed that case a year ago. Here is the link to the Court’s Docket Sheet. There you can read Judge Carter’s Order (30 or so pages) dismissing the case. He also blasted one of the plaintiffs’ counsel.

    http://origin.www.supremecourtus.gov/docket/08a407.htm

I am a lawyer, and so believe NOTHING I hear about a case unless I see it on the Court’s official docket. BTW, a “docket” is the official listing of all the papers filed in a case. With on-line dockets, you can often read the actual document!

The People must stop passing on unsubstantiated rumours. I never pass on anything unless I have documented that it is TRUE.

So, Friend, let this be a “teaching moment”. PH

    • Samuel

What’s the difference between obama and his dog Bo?
      Bo has his papers!

      • Claire

Funny. As an owner of multiple dogs this is a good one.

    • http://shirleypalalsathena@gmail.com Shocked and Puzzled Lady:

thank you, Publius….TRUTH is so very hard to find. Even in the days of Isaiah in the Bible, he said “truth is no where to be found”. Let us all be careful and mindful.

    • Average Joe

      Publius Huldah says:
      December 7, 2009 at 8:15 am,
If you are a lawyer(?), please tell me what the New Jersy case that you mentioned….have to do with the California case which was filed in Santa Ana Federal Court in October of 2009? I will conjecture that 1) you didn’t read the post entirely 2) you are not a lawyer, or 3) Just spouting to hear yourself. Which is it?
The Californisa Case was filed by Orly Taitz on behalf of military personel wanting clarification as to whether or not Mr.Obama is in fact qualified to hold the office of President/Commander in Chief of the United States of America. The Judge in that case is a retired military officer and stated on the record that this was indeed a serious matter and denied the Attorney’s for Mr. Obama a request to dismiss the case. The Case is scheduled to be heard sometime in January 2010.As a Lawyer I would think that you would have noticed the mention of the California case…but you didn’t, you brought up the New Jersey case concerning Denofrio. I sure am glad you are not my Attorney.

      • http://publiushuldah.wordpress.com/ Publius Huldah

        Hi, Average,
Sorry about the confusion. I posted above the link to Judge David O. Carter’s October 29, 2009 Order dismissing the case against Obama, et al in California.

      • Average Joe

        Publius Huldah ,
Thank you for responding. Although I did a little research on the California case, which as you pointed out has been dismissed (yes I still believe the courts are corrupt as well, since there hasn’t been a Constitutional court system since 1938…U.C.C. now rules the courts [my favorites being UCC 1-103 and UCC 1-207 which I use to my advantage on a regular basis]). I would like to point out that the link you posted was actually concerning the Donofrio case in N.J. which was why I questioned your post.

      • http://publiushuldah.wordpress.com/ Publius Huldah

Yes, I know, Average Joe. I receive an enormous amount of email about this case or that case, and yesterday I got one which said Justice Scalia promised that the Supreme Court would hear the birth certificate case coming out of New Jersey. So,I sent that person the link to the U.S. Supreme Court docket showing that the Supreme court denied Cert. (“review”) a year ago.

So when I answered “Jack’s” note above, I clicked on the wrong link. But now you have the correct link to Judge Carter’s October 29, 2009 Order dismissing the California birth certificate case against obama.

On another topic, and only because you brought it up: forget the UCC – you are barking up the wrong tree altogether. PH

Deacon Ludano Dan say’s bowing to an equal is manifestation of cowardness and imcompetence, per see.

I must have rmembered when WW II broke in I was about 11 years old s roman Catholic parenthood no more or less, indeed. It was in our darkness hour of our Philippine history, these Japs atrocties deemed they killed ever person young and old alike they found in the streets because they don’t have God, these Korean and Japs soldiers alike were brutal, they robbed our rice staples in the wild rice plantation in our field took it in their war shipped in the Pacific oceans managed to run amocked, thinking they would fled to destiny of death.

USN and heavy fighter places spotted them bombed the devil’s runway.

The rest of this criminality now in archived not to be forgotten.

    It was written in blood.

Deacon Ludano never bow to anyone to this people they must show respect in time of peace and tranquility.

The Japanese committed war attrocities on the Koreans too. Why have you erroneously lumped Koreans with the Japanese? They were never allies in World War II.

  • Bob Ivy

It is morally wrong to bow to qnother person. One person is not superior to another. We are equally important as individuals. I think President Obama bows and downs our country overseas because he has a great need to be liked and accepted. That shows also when he gives a speech. He uses the word “I” a way too much. He obviously requires a great deal of attention and praise.

    • kodiak60

That’s because he’s been diagnosed as a complete narcissistic individual… he cares for no one but himself. Charles Krauthammer, a regular panelist on Fox News Channel, is a licensed psychologist, and he diagnosed him as such, just on his behavior… similar to the FBI’s Behavior Analysis Unit (BAU)… writings, actions, vocal patterns, etc.

      • Danny B

If you watch Fox news I diagnose you as ignorant.

      • Trisha

If all you watch is the major networks you aren’t getting the facts. That makes you ignorant

      • denniso

Fox news doesn’t even pretend to be unbiased. They are owned by a rightwing propogandist..everyone who can think knows that!!

      • DaveH

Are you saying you don’t know that Denniso? Because you sure can’t think.

      • Joe H.

        Gee denniso,
that sounds like what I said about snopes being owned by a dem husband and wife team. You said that didn’t matter. Oh I get it now it doesn’t matter if YOU recommend them. Right!!!! Got it! I call you what you are but Bob would probably remove it!!!

Watching Fox News has opened millions of peoples minds. However, Arguing with Idiots, Glenn Becks book is so appropo in your case. Open your mind. Don’t be indoctrinated to believe what others are trying to tell you. Use your own common sense. We were promised Change by the current administration and the only change I see is devastation to this great country. We are being sold down the river and drowning in debt because of them.

      • Dave

We need to be rid of this fool ASAP!!!

      • Claire

We were sold down the river a long time ago.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Oh my gosh. You said Glenn Beck. Dont you know the liberal hate him, I mean, just because he opens his mouth and speaks the truth, and reveals all those dirty dark things the democrats stand for, and he also speaks out when the republicans do things wrong, but the left hates him for this, and attacks him all they can, because for some odd reason, they just cannot accept the truth. That is why they like ABC,CBS,NBC,CNN and MSNBC. Youve got a better chance of getting more truth out of the National Enquired than these media outlets. That I know is true.

      • coal miner

        Anne,

Glen Beck was on headlines,he was so drab and colorless most people can’t remember him. They kept saying Glen who?.He either quit or was was on the verge of getting fired.

      • Duane

I’d lot rather watch Fox news then the rest any day. At least they smile at you and none of the others do. Fox I believe delivers the truth, and the others, they make up the news. Besides, Fox has some best looking ladies that I’ve seen, and they all like to smile. Must mean that they are happy at their jobs.

      • Claire

        hmmmm wonder what they’re on?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

At least Fox does what they say. They report the news, and let me decide how I feel about it. The other networks bring their reports with a total left wing slanted bias, and pollute the minds of those who dont take the time to investigate the truth. This is the only reason Obamination got elected. Change-change-change, broadcasted over these networks over and over and over again. Propaganda at its best, and the uneducated bought it.

      • coal miner

        Duane,

May be gas. These gals may trying to keep a straight face and have to do every thing they can, to keep from laughing.Fox is a comedy.I think Homer Simpson will eventually replace Glen Beck.Keep your fingers crossed.

        Charles Krauthammer–turtle face?

      • DaveH

Claire, shame. Charles suffered a paralyzing diving accident in his first year of medical school and was hospitalized for a year. He is a paraplegic. I’m sure you weren’t aware of that.

      • Claire

DaveH—No, I did not know that. I am ashamed. I try not to call anyone names but I did. I guess I should practice what I preach. I stand reprimanded.

I notice on the big three newscasting, (ABC anyway) there has been NO mention of Pearl Harbor Day. The media must be in PC mode in a real big way, hence PPOTUS (Presumed President of the United States)bowing to Akihito.

    • s c

When you’re in the hip pocket of those who hate America [a good way to define most media-types in the US], it should come as no surprise that they have ‘other’ things to push in the name of ‘news.’
It’s no secret that the American media was prostituted many years ago. The fact that many Americans don’t yet know that is a testament to the temporary power of those who hate freedom and fear what will happen when media whores are put on public trial (AND comrade obama is revealed to the rest of the world how truly INFERIOR he is).
Hint: Cuba is just a short, small carbon footprint away. So where are the news articles covering the many, HUGE CARBON FOOTPRINTS made by those tree-fondling, mama earth-lovers who went to Nopenhagen?

Most importantly, it is between Tiger and his Wife, nobody else.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

And Dave, you and I both know how the liberal press operates. When someone is successful, they cannot stand it and they go on their seek and destroy mission, because they dont like success, or they wouldnt back the party that seeks to punish all that succeed.

  • Norm

    This is plain nonsense.
Let’s not forget that the American taxpayer rebuilt Japan, after WW2, into the industrial giant that it is today. And how concerned are you about the Hondas and Toyotas that almost bankruped the American auto industry? Turn on your Hitachi, Panasonic, Sony etc. electronics and ask why there is no longer a US electronics industry. Check out the inbalance of trade with Japan.
And you worry about a “bow”, that means no more than a handshake?
How about George W. Bush KISSING Saudi Arabian king Abdulla on January of 2008? Lest we forget, 15 of the 19 who carried out 9/11 were Saudis — bin Laden (also a Saudi) family members were immediately rushed out of the country to secure them from retaliation.

    • Neil

Obama bowed because HE is inferior. Unfortunately, that makes the rest of us look inferior!

      • denniso

You ranters have nothing better to complain about?? Obama showed cultural courtesy in Japan, nothing more. They bow to each other there rather than shake hands..so what??? The disrepectful thugs Bush/Cheny are gone,so get used to a more civilized gov’t!

      • DaveH

Respect? Like you show for the other commentors? Ranting? That’s funny because a rant typically is a mindless tyrade against others and that fits your comments to a tee.
I’m glad that you post on this board Denniso, so fence-straddlers can see what Liberal Leftists are all about. No facts, just attacks. No wonder the Democratic Party has been perverted into the Party of Force.

      • s c

Perverts, preverts and inverts. What a grand legacy the democrats have given America.
Granted, we have our share of flaws, but when it comes to making ‘friends’ at any cost [dead voters, switching sides when it's convenient, spending other people's money,
recruiting mental defectives for czars, indebting future generations to a life of indentured servitude, lusting for absolute power, reversing policy but denying that they did it and using fake environmental issues as a religion] nobody does it better than democrats and their camp-followers known as progressive ultraliberals. In the truest democrat sense of the word, what a legacy these people have created.

        Denniso,
As usual you have no clue. The financial markets are up in nominal value because the dollar is worth less. And as you Liberals are always fond of saying when Obama is accused of causing the high unemployment rate (10%), he’s been in office for less than a year. The jury is still out and will be for some time.

      • Duane

        Neil,
I’m not inferior to no man. I’m just as good as any man. At the end of life, we all get the same amount of real estate, 6X6X36!! Obama will get his and 3 days after he is dead, he too will be forgotten!! Since he is the WORSE president that this country has ever seen, I just hope his ugly picture isn’t put on the wall beside the rest of our presidents. Oh, I almost forgot, Clinton and Carters picture should be taken down also!!

      • Eddy

You are dead wrong ! 3 days after Obamasan is put to rest. He will not be forgotten, the party will still be going strong. He will rot in hell for what he is doing to this great country of ours. Since he’s just another foreigner he can’t appreciate it as it’s been for over two hundred years. He can bow down and kiss as much ass as he wants but he’ll never ever be a true American just another wanabe.

      • Claire

A person only looks inferior if they are inferior. I believe Bush bowed to someone also a few years ago.

      • Claire

It certainly doesn’t make me look or feel inferior. It doesn’t bother me. The economy and lack of jobs bothers me. We have more important things to hash around.

    • DaveH

Japan did not almost destroy our auto industry. The UAW did that, and it continues.

      • James Kenderdine

Get real – it was the genius of Todada, founder of Toyota, and his staff plus the lack of vision, and hubris, of the auto company executives that crushed the US auto industry. GM, in a joint venture with Toyota, took a pickup truck assembly plant in California that it was planning to close as “unprofitable” and using UAW labor and Toyota management turned it into a very profitable affair.

Then, in the genius (and hubris) that GM has displayed since the 1950′s, it shut down the joint venture and closed the plant.

      • DaveH

Yes, James, I am real. Are you? Of course GM management deserves some of the blame, but the bullying self-interested Unions have made it very difficult for even great managers to prosper.

        http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=5218

      • denniso

DaveH..the unions are not perfect, but they fought to provide decent, well paying jobs so that the millions of workers could actually buy things like cars and contribute to the economy. You would prefer slave wages, because that is what your supposed ‘free market’ had given us 100 yrs ago.

      • DaveH

        Denniso,
You are right about the fighting part. Unions typically achieve their goals with force and intimidation. They do their best to bully others who would be more than happy to work for the wages the Union workers turn their noses up at. Like those people don’t deserve to make a living?
And with an Economics degree (sure) you should know that if Union workers get higher wages they must by necessity be paid by the consumers who buy their products. The Union workers gain, the rest of us lose. And worst of all, they are driving the very companies that provide them their jobs into the ground.

      • denniso

With the rise of unions after the war we developed the largest and wealthiest middle class in history…how did that happen if unions bring the country down as you wrongly alledge?? We have the lowest union membership in decades and our middle class is hurting. What gives,DaveH??

      • DaveH

What gives is that anybody can, as you do, use unsupported statements in an attempt to make a point.

      • denniso

DaveH…You disagree w/ my comment about the rise of unions coinciding w/ the historic rise of our middle class??Open a history book. Until unions gave a modicum of power to workers, the corporations had absolutely all the power and control over workers..read!!

Keep buying Toyotas and living in fantasyland.

      • DaveH

I buy the best cars for the lowest prices. If you want to do otherwise Norm, that is fine with me. You can waste your money all you want, just don’t waste mine.

      • Norm

        DaveH
Fine Dave, but don’t cry and point fingers when the unemployment rate is double digit. Try thinking “team America” for once in your life. Personally, I’m “set” for the rest of my life. But I actually care about other Americans. Strange concept I know.

      • DaveH

Oh yeah, you’re so compassionate. That’s why you want to steal other peoples’ money (through higher taxes and more government spending), diminish their savings (through inflation caused by too much money creation), force them to buy products they don’t want (health care insurance), and the many other things that the party of force (the Democratic Party) rams down our throats.
Don’t flatter yourself. You don’t deserve it.

      • eyeswideopen

Norm, have you forgotten that DaveH, believes that the big corporations should function without any restrictions? That is why he is anti-union. He wants the big corporations who get government subsidies to keep the strangle hold on the middle class. He doesn’t see anything wrong with the major corporations getting 92 billion in subsidies in 2006. He believes in socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor.

      • denniso

Corporations don’t like unions..DaveH doesn’t like unions. DaveH wants giant corporations to have all the power. He’s opposed to real working people.

      • DaveH

        Eyeswide,
As usual you are lying. I have not said that and you know it.

        Denniso,
I’m opposed to people who want to force their way on others. I see you have learned Eyes tactic of putting words in my mouth.

Is that the best you Liberals can do?

      • Norm

PS. Who taught the Japs to build cars??

      • Claire

Norm–good point we taught them so well that they outdid us.

      • DaveH

        Claire,
MITI (Japanese government agency) about 5 decades ago told one of their car companies that Americans would have no interest in Japanese cars and they should abandon the export idea. MITI also attempted to prevent a small firm from acquiring manufacturing rights from Western Electric to produce semiconductors. The firm persisted and was eventually allowed to acquire the technology. The name of that firm – Sony.
        Big Government at work.

Once again Dave, you hit the nail on the head and speak the truth, but the libs on this site wont have none of it.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Correction, we rebuilt them, but not into the industrial giant they are today. You see Norm, we taught them the American way of doing business back then, when we were on top of everything, and that way was to build quality products at a good price and to stand behind those products. Hey, give them credit, they listened. Meanwhile, our companies, ie GM, Chrysler, Ford, etc, all decided to produce cheap junk and charge more for it, sacrificing quality control, and really not caring. That is why they are in the shape they are in, along with being dictated to by their union workers as to when they will work and how hard. It used to be that other countries wanted things tagged “Made in USA” on them. Then somewhere in the greed mix, our companies decided to send their rejects over seas, and started selling them junk also, and they stopped wanting our inferior products. We lost our way of doing business, and the Japenese embraced it, and now look at how things are. Instead of paying attention to good business practices, we cared more about political correctness, government red tape, rules and regulations, and taxes of all kinds and basically the government now hamstrings our business’s with too many taxes, and punishes those that are successful, and rewards those that fail, again, ie GM, Chrysler. Its a shame, and with the guys running things now, its not going to get better any time soon.

      • Norm

        Beberoni
Sounds like your bowing to the Japanese as well as Obama.

      • coal miner

        Norm,

Hang in there. They talk about Union workers not producing as well as Scab workers.I know better. We out produce every scab mines around. We had a better safety record too. There were three companies that out produce ours and had better safety records, they were also union. I wouln’t dream of working in a non union mines, they are dangerous and a health hazard. Most of them violate every rule in the book,a frightful example of that occurred in Perry county, Kentucky.Twenty seven miners paid with their lives as result of a explosion,They didn’t have it rock dusted down. This happen when I was young.A unonised mines would have most likely prevented this neeedless tragedy. They would make the company go by the rules or risk shut down.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Then you are a closed minded dummy that has no interest in the truth. I worked in union shops, for two different unions for 13 years, and it sucked. I watched guys cost the companies I worked for thousands upon thousands of dollars, because “its not my job” mentality. I watched the fat lazy guy with 20 years in stand around and collect the same pay, but not have to work, because “Ive paid my dues, its your turn”. Excuse me? You think because you work somewhere 20 years youve got the right to show up, not work, and collect a paycheck. Id fire a guy like that on the spot, but wait, the union protects the lazy worker that doesnt want to work, just get paid. Ive seen it over and over, so dont try to refute it. Its a union mentality fact. Been there, done that, lived it and breathed it, and it sucked. I was told on more that one occasion, not to be so productive, because it made the other guys look bad. Again, excuse me? What kind of baloney is that. Then, I was kept from advancing, because it didnt matter if you were smarter, more capable, more responsible and more willing to work hard. Nope. All that mattered was how many years you had it. That is so wrong. Ive been out of the unions for 14 years now, and Ive more than doubled my pay, not because everyone got paid and I got it too, but because I worked hard and applied myself, and my employer recognized it and I advanced, from being the truck driver to the head of purchasing, with a few steps in between. This is the American way, advance people because they succeed and work hard, but you union and democrats want to punish people like me, and reward those who dont want to work, ie all the democratic handouts to those who are too lazy to go look for a job, and the gimme jobs to the fat lazy ass in the union with 20 years in that just shows up and gets a check and doesnt do much work anymore. This is so wrong, and when guys cost a company thousands of dollars, and the company cant get rid of them because of a union, something is very wrong. I know I wouldnt tolerate this if I owned a company, would you? Id close the doors first, you can bet on that. You can hide behind your union security, and I admit it is a good gig for the lifer union guy, I mean getting paid while others work harder, yeah, youve got it made. But its bad for the company and its bad for the country. Unions used to be for the good, but since the infiltration and taking over by the mob, they are no good for nothing. By the way, our non-union company, pays our guys more than the union electricians make around here. And they dont get laid off like the union electricians. And the boss actually knows their name, their wife and kids name, and cares about them. And they get paid holidays and vacations, which the union guys dont. And they are driving around in brand new 26 thousand dollar vans with company gas cards, not spending their own time and gas to get to job sites. You keep your union, Ill take the reward system for working hard anyday.

      • coal miner

        Beb,

You don’t get it.Only a fool would Work in a non union mines.Tell it to those 27 miners who lost their lives This company was told a week before the accident they were in 38 violations, they bought the inspector off. That was a scab mines not a union mimes. These scab mines used to have the reputation as the most dangerous occupations.Union Mines are not only better place to work, but have a safety record next to none. The most dangerous occupation now are taxi cab driving,Seven-eleven jobs and policemen.I have no used or respect for a scab who walks accross a picket line.I am like Jack London the writer,he said the lowest thing on earth is a scab. WE UNION PEOPLE MADE FACTORIES AND COAL MINES A BETTER PLACE TO WORK IN!A HELL LOT SAFER.

      • DaveH

        Beberoni,
Right on! That was a fantastic piece of work. That has also been my experience with Unions. I got away from them early in life, and stayed away. I was warned by a Union decades ago about how the company might want us to go up on dangerous scaffolding. Their fear bewildered me, because I would just say no if I thought it was life-threatening. If I lost that job, so be it. I don’t need a Union to protect me. My experience with Unions is that they are the ones (with their bullying ways) who I need to be protected from.

      • DaveH

        By the way Miner,
You have proved my point about Union bullies with your “scab mines” comment. That says it all. If somebody doesn’t belong to your group of thugs then they are the enemy.

      • eyeswideopen

Berberoni, and you stayed in that job for 13 years, why? Where was your integrity then? So, it was ok for you to use that company for your own benefit is that right? But anyone else who needs to do the same thing is wrong? A little hypocritical don’t you think?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

To you I admit I know nothing of the coal mining labor, either union or non union, but Ive seen enough of them on TV that you wont get me to work in one. Id flip burgers for 3 shifts before Id willingly die of black lung. But the unions in automotive or manufacturing, they are the real scabs. They cause constant hurt to the companies they work for, and the would never heals, just a constant scab, because they continually cause pain.

My husband and I busted our butts to always buy American cars. We NEVER bought a foreign car. We supported American car companies our entire married life. Then, all of a sudden there was the gas shortage? The foreign car companies moved in and almost everybody bought one. Everyone went crazy for the Toyota. America imported millions of foreign cars and exported very few. Now what the heck was fair about that? Now, our American cars have foreign parts and that gripes the heck out of me. But what can you do? We will still purchase a car with an American name and try never to think about the foreign parts. Through all this mess, we simply made China and Japan richer.

      • Joe H.

        Claire,
Can you name the car with the most American made parts on it as of two years ago? Try Honda!!!!!! FACT!

      • Claire

JoeH–Great. As of two years ago? I should have made myself more clear-I am speaking on the late ’50s, ’60s,’70s—before we began importing so many foreign cars. My beef is that we did not export as many American cars. Yeah, I know, gas. I will keep my ’69 Camaro Rally Sport with the hideaway headlights, my ’94 Chevy Van that rides like a caddy, my ’92 Buick Roadmaster with very low mileage (a behemoth but nice, I bought it from my sister when she had her stroke and could not drive anymore) and our ’98 Jeep. Sure, they are older cars, but they are good vehicles, back when they made them good.

      • DaveH

        Claire,
If not for the imports, we would have to take mortgages out to buy our cars. It is just a fact of life that when you protect people from failure they work less and produce less, and companies are people. We are doing our domestic companies no favors by protecting them, just as we do our children no favors by spoiling them.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

This is true Joe. There are more foreign parts on so called American made cars than on Honda’s and most Toyota’s. In fact, not only that, but the American made cars have those wonderful parts that say “made in Taiwan” on them, and we all know how good they are.

      • Claire

Now you are talking sense. It was greed that killed our auto industry. Right along with the unions. Everybody got greedy. They wanted more, more, more. We shot ourselves in the foot over it all.

      • Claire

        This was for Beberoni.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You are correct Claire. The corporates got greedy, and sucked money out of the company via those million dollar bonuses. The union got greedy and held the companies hostage by shutting them down with a strike, and the company gave them those rediculous retirement benefits, and mortgaged their future, and now they are paying for it. However, I do feel that these retired union guys should get what the company agreed to give them, and I find it repulsive that they are allowed to cut these retiree’s benefits, and give more to the current worker, when the current wages should be slashed, and those retired guys should be allowed to collect on what was bargained in good faith. Both the companies and unions involved here are rotten to the core, but the company should not be allowed to alter the retirement plans of what has passed, only those to come in the future. Its not right.

      • DaveH

Similarly Beberoni, the Bond holders of GM got screwed. Good people invested their money in GM Bonds thinking it was a safe investment. It needed to be because the return on investment was pretty skimpy. Bond holders are supposed to get first claim on company assets. Instead the Unions were favored. The very last people that should be rewarded in GMs case.

Actually, we helped to rebuild their country so we could fight the Korean War. Japan became our forward logistical base, rebuilding combat damaged trucks, tanks, planes, weapons, tents, kitchens – you name it, they rebuilt it. The brass (from artillery shells) and the stuff beyond repair were their raw materials (the Koreans collected the brass from small arms for the same purpose-that’s how both countries were able to produce so much brassware for export.

To meet DOD quality targets, the Japanese started learning statistical quality control – importing US brainpower to teach them – and US business practices. They fell in love with SQC and pushed it way beyond were we took in during WWII. They modified the second to fit their culture and resources, which lead them to develop the theory of “lean production”, the successor to “mass production”.

The Japanese people today are not the same people who started WWII in the Pacific half a century ago. The Japan we see today is not the same Japan that committed the acts that have been described in this discussion. After half a century we ought to be able to forgive their behavior before and during WWII. I say “forgive” NOT “forget”. We should never forget history-or try to sanitize it. When we do that, we set ourselves up to make the same mistakes again.

Never forget that WE imprisoned our own citizens in concentration camps during WWII because of their ethnic origin, that we used “weapons of mass destruction” (fire bombing cities in Europe and Japan, and atomic weapons against the Japanese). Our leaders made those decisions during the war because they believed they were choosing the path that would end the war with the least cost of human life (not just ours, but also of our enemies). War is hell, but remember that Jesus had to go through hell to get to Heaven.

      • DaveH

        Nice comment James.

  • Jack Carter

Obama’s reign may be coming to an end as Judge Carter presides over the birth certificate trial in California.
We can’t shed this tick fast enough!

    • Norm

      Jack
      Your hitting the punchbowl again.

      • DaveH

Typical Liberal comment. No facts, just personal attacks.

      • denniso

DaveH…where are the ‘facts’ from the ranters above??If you weren’t so biased you might be ashamed of the company you’re keeping.

      • DaveH

They aren’t attacking other commentors personally, like you do. Sure I’m biased for my own beliefs, as are you. The difference is that I’m not attacking commentors other than those like you who draw first blood.

      • denniso

Wrong DaveH..I actually will listen to people who disagree w/ me…if they are civil toward me or others, including the president. If,like most of the shouters here, they call respected people vile names and toss out violent rants, then they don’t deserve a civil response. Simple enough??

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Your holding on to the crack pipe far to long, give it back to Norm.

      • Claire

DaveH–why do you call everyone a liberal if they don’t agree with you? Just because there is a difference in opinion does not necessarily mean they are Liberal. I disagree with some of the posts, but I don’t call them Republicans or Liberals. People disagree with me, but that’s o.k. We all have the right to voice our opinions.

      • eyeswideopen

Claire, that’s why you are enjoyable to converse with.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Norm, pass denniso the crack pipe. Its his hit.

Correction: Re the supposed trial Jack mentioned which is supposed to take place this January where Judge David O. Carter is the judge:

Judge Carter granted Defendants’ (Obama, et al) Motion to Dismiss on October 29, 2009. You can read Judge Carter’s 30 page Order Dismissing Plaintiffs’ case at this link:

The Link I posted earlier today was to the docket sheet of the U.S. Supreme Court for another Obama birth certificate case which, about a year ago, it refused to hear.

      Sorry for the confusion! PH

  • Carol Siira

Obama can bow all he wants if he feels like a servant. I bow to no foreign country and I do not accept Obama’s policies, therefore I am not under his “rule”. They can form all the new world orders they want, the only members will be them. Proud to be American and not ashamed or embarrassed at all.

    • http://Carterwimpedout USPatriot

Sorry to inform you that Carter wimped out. New case with CRIMINAL Charges in Monroe, TN. Grand jury to hear case today. See http://prosecuteobama.org/

    • denniso

Carol…Obama is not ashamed of being American, he merely showed proper respect to another leader in his country, much like when your buddy Bush walked hand in hand w/ the Saudi King some yrs back. You don’t know that Japanese bow to one another rather than shake hands…it doesn’t mean one is superior to the other,it’s simply custom. Despite your angry rant against Obama he is indeed your president, and if congress passes a law and he signs it then you are obliged to obey that law,or you can choose to go to jail.Just like always… Simple!
