Ron Paul on “Repeal 1913!”

December 4, 2009 by

Ron Paul on “Repeal 1913!”

As promised, here is part two of our exclusive interview with Rep. Ron Paul, the maverick Republican/Libertarian from Texas who created such a stir in last year’s primaries. Here is last week’s column, Ron Paul on “End the Fed” (The Campaign and the Book) in case you missed it.

The main thrust of our discussion was the status of legislation Ron has introduced in every session of Congress for the past dozen years or so. He wants to see an audit of the Federal Reserve. When that happens (and he is convinced it will some day), so much damaging information will be revealed that it will make it far more likely that the second part of his campaign—to abolish the Federal Reserve System—will become a reality.

Ron says the Fed itself is helping his cause, both by their unbelievable largesse and also by their incredible secrecy. He told me that the Fed has issued more than $2 trillion worth of loans and loan guarantees in the past year and won’t even tell Congress where the money has gone!

“If Congress can pass $700 billion of bailout funds and not know where the money is going,” Ron said, “what about all the trillions of dollars in loans and guarantees the Fed has issued since the crisis hit? Not only did the Federal Reserve help cause the (economic) problems, they are perpetuating them. But we have absolutely no idea how much the Fed has spent or promised to spend. That’s why an audit is so important.”

Ron says the latest survey shows that three out of four Americans—some 75 percent—support his demands for an audit of the Fed. So it’s no surprise that a majority in Congress has seen which way the wind is blowing and has signed up as sponsors of his bill.

But getting a majority to support it doesn’t mean it will pass. The congressman said he expects House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to do everything in her power to prevent the bill from ever coming up for a vote.

“Won’t this make people even angrier?” I asked him.

“The people are already angry,” he replied. “And rightfully so. I think it’s healthy that they are directing their anger toward Washington. That’s beneficial.” But then he issued an important warning: “If it gets out of hand, if violence erupts, that would be a dangerous thing. Our civil liberties are not all that well protected any more, thanks to the Patriot Act and other incursions on our liberties. The important thing is to make sure we direct that anger in such a way that there will be positive change.”

An audit of the Federal Reserve is a good start. But what we really need to achieve, the congressman told me, is to undo two great mistakes this country made nearly 100 years ago.

“We need to Repeal 1913!”
Then the congressman said something that I hope becomes a powerful new slogan for all of us working to restore Constitutional liberties. “What we really need to do,” he said, “is repeal 1913. That way we could get rid of the income tax and the Federal Reserve at the same time.”

Most Americans are probably not aware of what a disastrous year 1913 was for our historic freedoms. The very same year that saw the Federal Reserve System foisted on a gullible Senate by lies and deception also saw the enactment of the first graduated income tax in our nation’s history.

I don’t have the space today to go into detail on either of these nefarious schemes and how a group of elitists in New York and Washington conspired to bring them about. Suffice it to say that our would-be tyrants delivered a one-two punch that year from which freedom has never recovered.

I could tell Ron was getting as excited about the idea as I was. “You know, if you repeal Big Government, you get rid of government intrusion in our lives.” I could tell he was getting more and more enthusiastic. “You stop the hemorrhaging of the dollar. You repeal inflationary conditions. You restore a sound currency, which would go a long way to restoring a sound economy.”

My next question was obvious: How are we going to do this?

“The most important thing is to become as knowledgeable as possible,” he replied. “Education is the key to victory.”

The congressman is adamant that we need to understand why we are in favor of free markets, sound money, and personal liberty. “We must be able to answer the liberal do-gooders who claim they have the moral high ground, that they are the only ones who care about the poor.”

The next step, he insists, is to do something with the knowledge you have gained. And don’t feel that everyone has to do the same thing.

“What you do will be different from what I do. Some people write. Some get involved in politics. Others join and promote various organizations,” he said.

The important thing, Ron says, is to take a stand. “I think everyone should invest some time and money in the preservation of liberty.”

Speaking of organizations doing something, I should mention the one that grew out of Ron’s own run in the Republican primaries last year, his Campaign for Liberty. “I serve as honorary chairman,” he explained. “I don’t run it on a day-to-day basis; I wouldn’t have the time.”

Ron’s Campaign for Liberty is a 501(c) 4 organization. That means it can take sides on legislation and lobby for changes in Washington. It can urge passage of specific bills, such as Ron’s demands to audit the Fed. And it can oppose others. To learn more about it, go to www.campaignforliberty.com.

My final question to Ron concerned his own political future. I told him that I had twice had the pleasure of voting for him for President—in the Republican primary in Florida last year and on the Libertarian Party ticket two decades earlier. So I asked him, “When will I have the pleasure of voting for you again?”

He laughed and replied, “No one knows whether it will ever happen again, including me. I have no current plans. But I’ve never taken the position that I will absolutely never run again. Some very good things came out of our last campaign and much of the momentum we built up last year is continuing.

“I’m actually getting more optimistic about what’s happening in our country. To be honest, I can’t say that a lot of good things are coming out of Washington. But there is no question in my mind that the American people are waking up; they’re demanding that spending be brought under control; they want to get government off their backs.

“I can’t tell you what will happen in the next couple of years. All I can do is to urge you and your readers to continue to spread the word. Tell the truth. And hope that we wake up enough people to make government our servant once again, and not our master.”

I couldn’t think of a better way to end our interview, so I simply said, “Thank you, Congressman. We appreciate everything you are doing.”

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

And for an explanation of why I chose this as my sign-off phrase, see Chip Shots at the bottom of today’s Personal Liberty Alerts.

The “Federal Reserve System” now in place is unconstutional in its ownership. The Constitution speficially states that matterss of money, credit and banking shall be vested in Congress, not some private Corporation. Congress does not have the power to abrogate its charge by a simple majority vote. It would take a Constutional ammendment. It was passed by trickery Christmas Eve 1913 when most of Congress was home for the Holliday. Woodrow Wilson who signed the bill was later reported as saying “I fear that I have just given the Country away.”

  • R Fuller

I agree whole heartedly with doing away with the Fed,which also does away with the IRS thier personal collection agency.this also does away with the 16th amendment,”the law that never was” legally ratified into law,Another hoax to destroy this Republic,Passed in the dark of night. To understand who was behind organizing the 16th amendment, one must read “THE CREATURE OF JEHKYL ISLAND” that exposes the planners of the Fed and the 16th amendmen, involving the world bankers. When we back this lion into the proverbial corner, we need to be ready for the consequences. All assets of Fed and thier banks, must be immediatly confiscated, right down to thier pens&pencils and turned over to congress, to be converted to a hard money system. We will need all our troops on home soil, we will have to be energy independant, like stopping Henry Kissinger and our State department from giving away several hundred square miles and eight islands of the state of Alaska to Russia.Vast oil reserves in the Carribian and the Pasific. I am not an isolationist, however we must secure our Country, and to the devil with the rest of the World, untill this lion is dead.

  • Grady L. Mullins

I wholeheartedly agree with Congressman Paul that the Federal Reserve should not be immune from being audited. I also agree that the 16th Amendment should be amended to limit the open-ended and onerous power of taxation. It gives the Congress unrestrained authority to create “entitlements” to buy votes to keep them in office. It is in reality the power to enslave us, and all of the spending proposals thus far by the current Administration and Congress seem aimed to do just that by indebtedness. Of course, much of the electorate receiving benefits are quite content to “share in the wealth” created by others, with little or no regard for the consequences. The phrase in our Constitution PROMOTE the general welfare is being distorted to mean PROVIDE the general welfare. Is it any wonder the term Solon is no longer used in referring to Congresspersons anymore. It is equally important to note the failure of media to fulfill its obligation in the First Amendment. Consider that the Founding Fathers singled out the press, giving the only right bestowed upon a private institution, these words, Congress shall make no law–abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press,–the unfettered right to report any nefarious infringement by government on our Constitution. To the informed observer it seems clear that mainstream media has been grossly negligent in fulfilling that obligation, seemingly content, for self serving reasons, to ignore the erosions of freedoms, leaving much of the electorate dumb, fat, and happy. Until more people become aware of how oppressive government has become there is little likelihood of meaningful change. Education is the key.

Want to know how the FED steals money? Her is how. Say Congress comes up short of money that they want to spend. They go to the FED and request it from them. The FED says yes but you have to give colateral.
That colateral comes in the form of treasure bills or some other sort of Federal IOU instruments. Does the Fed go in their pocket to get the money-of course not. Lets say the amount of money is 100 million. The FED WHO IS THE OFFICIAL KEEPER OF THE BOOKS (through the 9 Federal reserve banks around the Country that act as a clearing house for all checks) sayng how much money one has in their account, and they credit US account with 100 million. Why? because the FED says they have that much money in their account. Now its there to spend. The FED (a private owned corporation) owned by a small group (there are 8 owners of stock in the Federal Reserve. THEY JUST STOLE 100 MILLION (it could have been just as easy if it were 100 billion)with the swish of a pen and an accounting entry. Now they can sell these instruments in the marketplace and use that money for any one of their devious nefarious activities and lifestyle. They shun the limelight and are never listed in any list of the most wealthy.
Want to learn more about how the Federal Reserve System came about through secrecy and trickery read the books “The secrets of the Federal Reserve” by Eustace Mullens and the “Creature From Jeckyl Island”

Another stimulus plan is what you all need, Ron Paul need s to get rid of the Illuminati, they the Free Mason’s run all banks Author Larry Burkett wrote a book called The Illuminati, where “The Society” seeks world power. You can find all this on YouTube and can find all this stuff in the Wilipedia Encyclopedic then maybe you will have your say. The internet is so full of information.

    • http://Yahoo Dee D

Robert: Obama’s stimulus package only helped the same ones who got us in this mess in the first place.
He allotted millions to the banking and loan industry. They still hold the mortgages and receive payments on the majority of the loans, raking in the high interest fees.
I felt it would have been more beneficial to the citizens to give them low interest federal loans. They could have payed off their mortgages saving thousands of dollars in interest while lowering their monthly payment in general. Property owners would pay back to the government the money they already paid in the first place.
Of course, not allowing the banking industry to make their big bucks above and beyond their original investment was not realistic.
I see ads saying Obama encourages all to re-finance their mortgages for the lower interest rates. Bottom line, when the equity in the property is less than the value in today’s market, who will allow you to re-finance?

      Brian,
I don’t doubt that, but I do doubt that the sheep in this country would ever band together to throw out the Income Tax. I am hopeful though.

    • MIKE

There is an income tax law, an excise tax on any federal privilege. If you receive money, provide a service to or are employed by the federal government…you are liable for an income tax. IE- you are an “employee” working for an “employer” making “wages”!

All of those words in “..” are terms of art. They do not mean what the common word means, they are specific limited definitions in the IRS code. Why do you think it takes 3 million plus words to make up the IRS code? To confuse and obfuscate the truth. You are not liable for an income tax unless you accept a federal privilege, provide a service to or are in the employ of the Federal Government.

If it were Constitutional to tax every American on there right to earn a living then the code could simply say “If you live and work in the United States of America, you owe us this much”. Also notice that the IRS code has a specific definition for United States….(note it does not make mention of America or the 50 union states party to the constitution)…..

3121 (e) State, United States, and citizen- For purposes of this chapter— (1) State The term “State” includes the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa. (2) United States The term “United States” when used in a geographical sense includes the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa.

…..Do you live and work in any of the above federal territories? Or one of the 50 Union States party to the Constitution?

Making a living by your labor is a God given right and Congress has no Constitutional authority to tax private citizens not involved in a “Trade or Business” or federal privilege.

Brian: I have to plead ignorance (typical citizen). I do recall a few of my co-workers and I talking about this issue a few years back. Then it was removed from the news and all forgot. I was listening, however not close enough to really get involved.
From what I remember – I did make the comment “if enough would stick together – they could not lock us all up”.
It’s a little late for us now (on this issue per se) with so many unemployed. Not much money is being collected by the IRS.
Our manufacturers are leaving (have left) our country for the cheap sweat shop labor and being rewarded by our elite representatives in Washington (for leaving) while we citizens are aiding and abetting by purchasing the garbage our retailers put on their shelves.
I always have and continue to boycott all imports.
Another entity consumers should be leery of is the Wall-Mart. They are out to close every retailer here in America and run them out of business. I don’t think very many consumers really see the threat China is to our nation. Wall-Mart sells more goods from China than any other country.
The goods started killing our pets, then children, then adults and then the babies with contaminated formula. Some in China have been prosecuted over the milk formula.
But the consumers continue to trade with Wall-Mart.
People use the term of sheeple to define some ignorance, I would like to broaden that with zombie’s. We are too slow learning what is good for us.

  • Everett Barton

If you mean Big Government and not WE the People, then I agree. Having control over our own lives MEANS that there is “a government OF the people, BY the people and FOR the people”. And it can be big as hell, as long as all the money goes to the citizens FIRST and then ‘bubble up’ to the banks as repositories of OUR WEALTH. All forms of usury should be outlawed. NO MORE of this “APR financing…” or other such shinnanigans….! We print the money (or digitize it, or whatever is done these daze….), we distribute it in a yearly stipend every January 15th, we flat tax the difference between stipend and money earned above the stipend level ( example : $55,000.00 for a family of four). This will lead to price controls ( a good thing, as I am an arch progressive and NOT a conservative like you guys), and it would REQUIRE that we do,in fact,
abolish the FED, AND denote it as a ‘Jubilee’–and we can conduct
such a jubilee every seven or fourteen years, if need be. It has been the adoption of usury practices that has led to the ‘rule’ that
deficits had to be perpetuated and strictly accounted for and paid for. We should begin by asking China to forgive our debt to them IN EXCHANGE for their components and technology in building our smart grid. We have run out of time to try and do any other thing.

To Share a Powerful and Wise Poem.:
    Courage, Brother, do not stumble, though your path be dark as night;
There’s a star to guide the humble, Trust in God and do the right.

    Let the road be rough and dreary, and it’s end far out of sight;
Foot it bravely, strong or weary; Trust in God and do the right.

    Perish policy and cunning, perish all that fears the light;
    Whether losing, whether winning,
Trust in God and do the right.

    Trust no party, sect or faction, trust no leaders in the fight;
But in every word and action, trust in God and do the right.

Simple rule and safest guiding, inward peace and inward might,
Star upon our path abiding; trust in God and do the right.

    Some will hate you, some will love you;
    some will flatter, some will slight;
Cease from man, and look above you,
Trust in God and do the right.

What Washington lacks is common sense. If your in a boat on the lake and spring a leak you first fix the leak and then bail the water. If the hole is smaller then the bucket you can bail until you run out of energy. If it’s larger, you soon sink. Our ship of state has no bottom. How long can we treed water? LS

    • denniso

LS…cute, but incorrect analogy. If the leak is under water, which it must be,and the water is coming in rapidly enough to sink the boat, you sure as hell better bail out the water so you can get to the leak to fix it..ever tried to patch a leak under water??

  • Neil Sasinowski

In regards to Social Security running out of money in 2010. Does anyone know the true dollars collected plus interest earned from day one on starting this tax? Is the government even paying interest on these funds? Of course the working stiff paying into this fund have been lied to by the government claiming this is an insurance policy and in reality it is just another tax for the general fund for our elite representives to spend on what ever they want. I gather there is not a seperate fund for Socical Security. When are our representatives going to wake up? When they are kicked out of office and are replaced with honest people.

    • DaveH

      Neil,
Social Security is a Ponzi-scheme that works on a hand-to-mouth basis. When government claims a surplus for Social Security, they mean that it took in more revenues that year than it paid out. It is wholly dependant on the wages of future workers to pay for the payments to recipients.
      http://www.socialsecurity.org/daily/05-11-99.html

      • Jana

Dave, What about all of the money that has been borrowed from the Social Security Funds and put into the General Fund?

      • denniso

DaveH…You say social security is a ponzi scheme. It has been ‘working’ fairly well for how many yrs now?? 70? It has kept millions of older people out of destitution. Pretty good ‘ponzi scheme’. So it needs fixing every 20 or so yrs..so what. So does everything else.

      • DaveH

As usual, the unsupported statements presented as facts by somebody who just wants to believe them.
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponzi_scheme

    • MIKE

You are correct, there is no separate account for Social Security or Medicare. Most people are duped into believing that they have a locked box for these taxes(and that’s what they are-taxes), but it all goes into the same pot as your income tax.

      • s c

Mike, in the matter of Soc Sec, it’s even worse than most know. The Supreme Court has ruled that the American people have NO REASON to expect that Soc Sec ‘donations’ will be available when Americans become eligible to receive payment(s). What does that tell you about Soc Sec, government ‘ethics’ and the true condition of leadership in America?
In Las Vegas, they’ll tell you that those who expect anything good to come from a government program [Soc Sec, Medicare, Medicaid, a stimulus plan, obamacare, government meddling in contracts, government take-over of corporations, etc.] are the ones who keep casino doors open. The house (government) tends to win because THEY make the rules. Public service, oaths of office and LEADERSHIP are mere words. What generations of Washington losers have done is to prove that the Founding Fathers were in a league of their own. What we’ve had in Washington since before you and I were born is a long line of traitors who deserve whatever punishment they get. Let the turnabout and comeuppance begin.

      • http://Yahoo Dee D

Mike: Soc. Security is an entity in itself. It’s just there are not enough big or strong enough locks on it to protect it. Every administration keeps adding groups to draw from it who contribute nothing to the program. Then when the coffers grow, each administration dips into the surplus and uses it for everything but its intended purpose.
No civil servants contribute as they have their own programs in place.
At one time a civil servant could (on retirement from their public job) work a few quarters in the public domain and become eligible to draw benefits from the program, but during Regan’s tenure he put the stop to that.
At one time all career service personnel could benefit. If you doubt me, check into McCain’s SS income and why it is so large.

      • American Citizen

Social Security would not be in trouble if Congress would quit using it to pay for their pork barrel schemes. Congress owes billions and billions to Social Security. The same with Medicare. We seniors get no SS raise next year, yet our insurance premiums went up. The only one that didn’t was Part B. If we didn’t have investments and savings to supplement our SS we would have to cut out the small pleasures we have. We don’t live lavishly, own a small 2 bedroom home, one 13 year old car, and have health problems. We need to turn Congress over and make sure we elect people who will truly have the best interests of this country at heart.

      • Claire

American Citizen–You are so right on this. I know several couples that are on Medicare & Social Security. If they did not have this source of income, they would be destitute. If our government had left it alone like they should have, everything would have been fine. But no, they have to stick their hands into everything. I was at Walgreens a couple of weeks ago to pick up medicine for my husband, and there was an elderly couple waiting for the prescriptions to be filled. When they got their meds it cost them over $400.00. They were visibly upset. The lady said what are we going to do and her husband said they had to have the medicine, and they would work things out later. I could have wept. I felt so bad for them. This is why I firmly believe Social Security should have been left alone and they should not cut back on Medicare. If our stupid government had done things correctly and legally none of this crap would have happened. It sickens me to no end. A lot of older couples spent their money on their kids-sending them to college and helping them get a start in life. This whole system of ours sucks.

      • Claire

Sure, we need to replace Congress for people that truly have our interests at heart. But, who in the heck are they? I cannot think of one politician that TRULY cares for the American people and our country. Look at each individual politician and study them carefully. Listen carefully to what they have to say. Do you really believe any of them? I don’t. To me, the only interests they have is to further their own gain and the gain of their so-called party. Throughout this past summer, I really felt that some of them that were raising hell were doing it for their own 15 minutes of fame. They didn’t give a crap about us. We have to be realistic and call it like it is. I am sorry that I cannot have respect for these so-called do-gooders. They tell us what we want to hear. I am disgusted that I can no longer trust any of them. I am angry that we are in this Godawful mess. And I am angry that they fleeced the hell out of America. I am angry they screwed us over.

      • Jana

Claire, maybe some of us ‘little people’ ought to start running.

AC: One cure for all citizens problems from any and all our representatives in Washington. Lobby for and gather signatures making it mandatory that all of our employees in Washington live according to the same set of rules they mandate for their constituents. If this could be accomplished I’d be willing to bet the scum bags representing us would knuckle down and see to it everything would be corrected – STAT.

      • Jana

DeeD, I would love to see that happen. I think there was a petition to sign that a Senator from La. had out or maybe it was Ron Paul, I just don’t remember. I signed it, does anyone know about this?
I do know that it has to be a real petition, not just something sent around in an email for people to add their names to. That type of petition doesn’t hold water.

      Neil,

The S.S. is supposed to be in a separate account earning interest. The problem being that our ‘great’ elected officials have been raiding this fund for decades to fund a lot of their pet projects. And of course have (not to my knowledge) ever paid any of it back, so therefore the fund is running out of money as the so called baby boomers retire.
      willie pete

      • Claire

Yes, you are exactly right. They have been raiding SS for years and never paid it back. Thank you for telling it like it is.

  • David A. Celaschi

I totally agree with all comments made. Before we allow them to have any more access to more dollars, they should have to account for the dollars they all ready recieved. Why has’nt any one asked where those dollars are. I think those dollars are all ready socked away in some place other than this country, and when the bottom drops completely out all the rats will desert the ship and begone even before we know of it!I also wonder where our back up plan is for protecting this country from those now in charge, they should all ready have been taken down for blatant disregard of our constitution. And for any one comming over here and forclosing on our country, better stay the hell off my block, and that includes everybody!!!!!!!

    • denniso

I wonder why all the hatred and rage is now directed toward the Fed, which tried to save us from a real depression, and the gov’t, and not toward the giant banks and financial firms that almost singlehandedly got us into this mess?? Oh, I see…the gov’t(now under dem control) and the Fed are evil and the giant corps are mostly the heart of the repub party and the epitome of capitalism. Silly me!

      • DaveH

Silly you? I don’t think so. More like “uneducated you”. I will post this link knowing full well that you won’t read it, because you don’t really want to learn. You just want to harass good people who are trying to have a decent conversation.

You joke again…most of the ‘decent conversation’ here is about armed revolution, guns,Obama as socialist/traitor,liberals are communists, scum….DaveH,if you and your wacko buddies actually discussed instead of malign, blame, harangue and whine about how you’ve ‘lost your country’,there maybe could be intelligent discussion. You’re either blind(sorry to the actual blind)or totally out to lunch. All you guys want to do is demonize an elected gov’t,elected for the 1st time in 8 yrs w/o any election controversey..elected w/ a real majority!

        Denniso,
Where do you get such unfounded arrogance?

For the rest of the readers,
This is the kind of person who wants to micromanage your choices through Big Government.

      • DaveH

        Denniso,
I have seen no comments from you that indicate you have even the slightest comprehension of money matters. Yet, you ridicule the comments of others as if you do. Pretty brazen.

      • denniso

DavwH…I ridicule the comments of others? Do you read any of these? Most don’t need my help w/ ridicule, they just ARE ridicule. How can a person w/ any intellect at all not laugh out loud at some of these absurd comments about Obama being a communist or a muslim or that he is creating a one world gov’t or you’re going to ‘take back your country’ and on and on?? I can’t imagine even you not laughing at this crap.

      • DaveH

I laugh only at your ignorance Denniso. Obama has surrounded himself with Socialists. Is that just coincidental? Unlikely. You are either very naive or you are feeding at the government trough and don’t care about morality.

      • coal miner

        denniso,

I agree with you as stated in another post. These people with their barnyard philosophy keep calling Obama a Muslim is Laughable.Obama has kept on stating that he is not a Muslim,he is a Christian. These cow jockies still don’t get it,they got their heads in the manure pile and accusing him being a communist. It is pathetic and ignorant. Islam is a religion and communisn is a atheistic philosophy.

      • Jana

        Coal miner,
It is sure funny that even though he claims to be a Christian, that he quotes the Qu’ran, and he says things like the Islamic call to prayer is the most beautiful sound he has heard, and that in his own book he stated that if it came down to choosing between the Christians and the Muslims he would choose the Muslims.
He seems to speak out of both sides of his mouth.

      • DaveH

Yes, and Obama also said that the Health Care Bill was going to be deficit neutral. Who knows what the truth is from this man?

denniso and coal miner has got their head stuck up Obamas Arse and all they can see is how stupid they are for following him so close. Obama is a, “NOW GET THIS,” a Muslim, a racist, not an American, and is also a jerk, just like you two are. All you talk about is how much you LOVE Obama. Got me wandering about you two. Are you two male and just happen to hit it lucky, and got married when it was legal?

      • eyeswideopen

Dave. since you claim all Dems are socialists, who was Obama supposed to surround himself with, Repubs? He did keep Chairman of Fed, and Sec Gates who are Repubs, but come on, who did you think he would have as staff, the radical right wingers???lol…..LMAO

  • http://RonPaulLiberty Mr. B.L. Schaaf

I am retired on “Social security”; but was in “Banking for 13 years”; Went up the Ladder twice; Small community Bank & Detroit Family Bank; Most people are not aware that “The Federal Reserve Bank is the Bankers Bank”—They will sell money to the Federal Reserve—which leaves less to loan or they will buy “fed Funds”; So the Federal Reserve controls “Credit available by offering —the Banks in there District more interest or less interest on any money they put in “Fed Funds”—of coruse you & I arn’t suppose to use float on our accounts; but I believe it is a common practice among the Banks- in “Federal Reserve District Bankers”; Your kidding there is “No accountability/no annual audit of “Fed Funds”??? Wow!!! Yes, I understand “China” has a big share of our debt & getting “interest from the US—There is enough wealth in this country to buy a (American Debt Bond” so the interest stays in the US—why should “billions” being going over sea’s & if these countries decide to go “National” all the “Money invested by US countries”—well all these countries have to say is see you—we are going to have “State Run everything—bye you all”; There was this (35 year old Mother; who at a “Townhall meeting”/last election said, “This Country “USA” is being piece mealed out—STOP IT; I whole heartedly agree—”China could foreclose on “Hawaii or/an Alaska” any day. BS

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

China wouldnt demand money, and Ill tell you why. If say we were forced by them to pay back all this stuff in a hurry, their money would more than double in value. All the sudden, all this cheap stuff from China that we buy in the United States, would cost too much, as it would more than double, and we would buy elsewhere, thus collapsing their economy, and they arent going to do that.

    • Jana

Mr. B.L., may I quote you on this?

  • Wanda

We need to get rid of the Feds, Nancy Polosi, Harry Reid the congress and the senate. We also need to work hard at getting an audit of the federal reserves.IF Nancy Polisi comes up with some lie to where they say we can’t do this, then we need to come up with some truth that says we can. The american people are really sick of the lies and the democrats just don’t get it. Their also tired of the dirty work going on behind closed doors.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Pelosi is taking money from any and all, and seeks to protect them. You can count on that.

      • denniso

I really wish you and wanda and others here would try harder to come up w/ real and constructive criticism about our political system, rather than just spouting your continual noise-sense and ranting about ‘taking our country back’ and ‘Obama is a communist’ and ‘Pelosi is unfit’;by the way, she is the first ever female speaker of the house..even extremist rightwing nut women should applaud that fact as ‘progress’, even if you don’t like her politics.
I said this weeks ago…the looney righties lost the election. They held total power for 6 yrs and most power for all of Shrub’s 8 yrs. You and they screwed up almost everything and started 2 big wars that you didn’t finish or even fund well enough. NOW,shut up and get the hell out of the way and let the smart people clean up the filthy mess you and Bush/Cheny left behind, like a spoiled brat whose torn up the house!

      • DaveH

        Denniso,
You are like a spoiled little child just seeking attention. You rarely offer any comments that aren’t riddled with name-calling, ridicule, and arrogance. Grow up.

      • denniso

DaveH…you’re using some of my terms. Cut it out!!

      • usmadgirl

        DaveH,

If we would all ignore Denniso, maybe he’d go away! If nobody responds to him, wouldn’t it be like he doesn’t exist?!

      • DaveH

        Madgirl,
I don’t think so. He/she would probably become even needier of attention if we ignored him/her.

      • J C

Come on guys….Denniso is beautiful. What a perfect sounding board to get out Libertarian /conservative ideas. And Denniso must enjoy the abuse too, most Liberals do or they wouldn’t go about subjecting themselves to ridicule for spouting baseless emotional garbage.

      • jim

        denniso,
The senate was Dem for 4 out of the 8 years Bush was in office (thanks Judas Jeffers). So, you believe Obama’s not a socialist and Pelosi is someone to be proud of? Just what color is the sky on yuor planet? To count on Moebama, Larry reid and Nacy Curlylosi to clean up the so called Bush-Cheney mess is like trusting Col. Sanders to babysit your chickens.

      • denniso

Jim…’baby chickens’??That’s perfect, since the guys(shrub/cheny)you want to run from now but supported for 8 yrs w/o a ‘peep’, are by every measure, chicken-hawks! In other words, total cowards who never served or barely did,fit only to send other peoples’ children off to die in the deserts of the middle east. Did you ever scream about that?? No? didn’t think so…

      • eyeswideopen

Jim, you are wrong. Republicans held power in both houses from 1995 till 2007. You need to do some research.

      • jim

hi Denniso, Jim Here again. Yes I supported and stilldo support the brave mem and women who went to the desert to fight the terrorists that threaten this country. they are soldiers, not just kids that some meany sent to the desert to die for no reason. they even protect little ingrates like you. I just wish they still had a Comander& chief, not the community organizer& thief.

      • Jana

Jim I agree with you. At least Bush knew what to do. He trusted his Generals.
Obama is a scared little community organizer that can’t make a decision.

      • denniso

Jana…didn’t your president just decide to send 30,000 more soldiers off to war?? What do you want? 500,000 like we had in viet nam and still couldn’t ‘win’??

      • denniso

Jim…supporting our soldier kids in battle is obvious. Do you actually still support the invasion of Iraq w/ all the waste of blood and $$, even though we now know w/ total certainty that Saddam had nothing to do w/ 9/11 and had no WMD??? If you do, then you’re utterly hopeless and a warmonger!!

      • Jana

        denniso,

I wanted him to make a decision. Either bring the soldiers home or give them some help over there. But, whoever heard of the brilliant maneuver of telling our enemy when we are going to stop?
Every move this poor man makes shows his inept ability to do the job he was voted in to do.

      • eyeswideopen

Jana, were you sleeping when they decided to do the surge in Iraq? It was on every news station we have. We also broadcast our departure agreement with Iraq. You still awake???

      • jim

Hi from the hopless warmonger, if that is what having respect and gratitude for the people who risk there lives every day to prtect us is.I thought this was an article about the Fed. Not a rehashing of the same old argument about Bush and Chehey and the Iraq war. But when you can’t despute the other persons logic, a liberal just changes the subject and tries to misdiect the topic.Since your boy is such a dismal failure you have to go bake to someone not there any more, just man up and figure out that the hope and change thing isn’t working.

      • Jana

Wanda, you are so right. The problem is some of these people are so powerful it is hard to break that hold that they have.

  • Del Street

I am a Reagan Conservative, not a Republican and not a Libertarian. Many of the ideas of the Libertarians are really good and very appealing, but I separate quickly with their ideas when it comes to foreign policy. They tend toward isolationism, which in today’s world is a huge mistake. I am also in agreement with the concept of an audit of the Federal Reserve System. To have a “private” company with so much power over our financial and economic lives and no oversight is an apocalyptic idea that we will pay a very dear price for someday.

    • DaveH

      Del,
They believe that the US should not be the world’s policemen. That is all. They are not isolationists as that would be an oxymoron in lieu of their staunch stand for individual freedom. Please read their party platform:
      http://libertarianparty.org/platform

      • DaveH
      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

What stance does he have Dave, on these enemies who would build up in an attempt to attack us? Would he believe in mobilizing and striking back? I sure hope so. We dont need a Barack type who thinks he can sit down and B.S. the enemy into playing nice. I would rather fly over them and drop a big one, than sit back and do nothing and let them get big and strong like Hitler and let them take over the world, why we sit here saying “well they arent hurting us”, because if they get that big and powerful, and we dont play the policeman, they will come and hurt us, if we dont keep them in check. How do you feel about this? I would like to know, as I find you to be a pretty intelligent guy.

      • DaveH

        Beberoni,
My personal belief is that we should arm our country to the teeth. And let other countries fend for themselves, other than supplying them with arms.
I think for every citizen of ours that an attacking country kills, we should kill 3 of theirs. So, for instance, with 9/11 after identifying the source of the attack, we should have gone into Afghanistan and killed 6,000 of them. And then get the hell out, no Nation Building. It would have been a lot less costly then Bush’s course of action in lives as well as money. I’m betting that after a few attacks, they would learn to leave us alone.

      • Claire

DaveH–I agree with you on this. We should have gone in, dropped a few “big ones” to let them know we mean business instead of fooling around. But no, we’re supposed to be “civilized.” Instead we dragged this war on and on. We looked weak back then and we look weak now. Our soldiers sure as heck deserve better than this. Their hands are tied too, they have to do what they are told. I believe in an eye for an eye. This is exactly what the Bible says.

      • Claire

Another thing that makes me sick. Our “Allies” send in about 80 troops, some send 500 or less,, it is a joke. But yet, if they get into trouble they want all of our soldiers to be there to help them. These “Allies” apparently are not interested in sending enough manpower to help us. I say, pull out, arm America to the teeth and just let anyone TRY to attack us. They would sure as heck be in for a rude awakening.

      • AnhydrousBob

Another idea I’ve toyed with is to discover the village (or locality) of any terrorist who attacks up. Drop leaflets saying in 24 hours we will destroy this town because “whatshisname, your native son, attacked us” Those who believe can escape with their lives, those who dont will pay. It wont take long for the effect to be felt. We will be dealing an eye for an eye.

Should work for the Somoli pirates as well. Soon, they will avoid the ships with a US flag.

      • DaveH

        Bob,
No doubt that would be effective. But I’ve always had a problem with punishing innocents so as to make them control the perpetrators in their midst. Kind of like when a teacher punishes the whole class because the trouble maker won’t come forward. Goodness needs to be rewarded not punished.
I realize that to a certain extent my previous comment is similar. It’s a thorny issue to be sure.

      • eyeswideopen

Dave, attack a country who did not have one terrorist in the group of 17? The citizens of that country didn’t know that the Bin Laden Group was going to attack the US. Not one of them were from Afghanistan. You would kill innocent people, most who didn’t even know that Bin Laden was in their country? It’s not like they have TV and cell phones and knew exactly what he was doing or where he was going to strike. You are assuming that they function like a high tech country and were in the thick of the plot. This was a country who is extremely poor who had just finished being invaded by Russia and spend most of their time just trying to survive day to day. How can you hold an entire nation responsible for the actions of terrorists who were hiding in their country, obviously not letting most know what they were doing? Radical reaction on your part, to just start killing everyone.

      • Jim Dudley

I understand that we should not be the world’s police force. Question is: “If not us, who?” Granted, our government has in the past, made commitments that were clearly wrong. Intervention in Central America to protect American plantation owners, using CIA to oust a duly elected president (he was supposedly a communist) and others. Government intervention in these cases were clearly wrong. However, when it is obvious that a govenment or group of extermists is bent on destroying our way of life, someone needs to step in.

      • denniso

Jim…The U.N. was formed to help ‘police the world’. The right wing has worked to marginalize and demonize it and de-fund it so it struggles to be effective…despite that the U.N. has done some good around the world and,no, they haven’t taken over our country. One of the great capitalists of the 20th century contributed a billion $$ to keep it operating when repubs refused to pay our dues, I wonder why he did that? Did he want to enslave the U.S. or did he think it is important to the ‘progress’ of the world?

      • DaveH

        Jim,
If the citizens of the countries under attack don’t care enough about themselves to fight off the attackers, why should we?

        And Denniso,
As far as being the World’s protector, the UN is a joke.

      • Jim Dudley

You want others countries to protect us from our would-be attackers?
Now that’s a real confidence booster. The U.N. can’t even police itself, let alone the rest of the world. In the technilogical age we now live in, it is totally naive to believe we can just “mind our own business” and remain safe and secure.

      • s c

DaveH, on a good day, the UN is a bad joke. Those who love the UN refuse to admit that America’s
introduction to its unique brand of insanity was in Korea. Korea can be defined as ‘a war in which you can fight, get maimed, die or disappear, but you can’t win.’ Vietnam was an extension of that self-destroying, “big picture” insanity.
The UN is worse now than it was in Korea. Now, it is a world-wide collection of America-haters, perverts, anarchists, criminals and paranoids of every ilk. The UN should be in an ‘enlightened’ country – like Iran, Syria, Venezuela or Cuba.
Believing in Santa Claus makes sense (almost). Believing in Peter Pan or Mary Poppins makes sense – if you’re a suck-up for a politician. Believing in the UN makes a strong case for the idea that some people need to take drugs 24/7. That way, they could be said to have a basic interest in their mental health.
The UN will NEVER ‘get better.’ It’s a disease
that was never ‘treated.’ It has been allowed to spread and infect people around the world. Let the UN rely on sources like George Soros – and his current crop of freedom-haters in Washington.

    • J

“I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is Libertarianism” — Ronald Reagan. I very much see Ron Paul as the next Barry Goldwater, who of course, paved the way for Ronald Reagan.

Also, Ron Paul is not an isolationist, he is a non-interventionist. Two completely different terms.

      • DaveH

        Thank you J.

      • AnhydrousBob

        Exactly J,
So were our founding fathers. You’ve heard all the quotes of the time about non-entanglment with Europe, not going abroad to fight monsters, trade with all – alliances with none. What has it all gotten us? We should consider carefully how well non-intervention worked for so many years.

    • J C

Del, don’t confuse isolationism with non-intervention. They are very different things. Libertarians are not advocation isolationism. We welcome the idea of free trade….”real” free trade with all friendly nations. We just don’t think we’re supposed to mess with their governments or their politics.

The privatly owned banks have no constitutional right to print money and then charge the US government interest on the money they borrow from these banking thieves. We have (congress)the constitutional right to COIN our own money interest-free, thus no getting into debt and becoming slaves to these greedy scum-bags.END THIS SYSTEM NOW, BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!!!

      • DaveH

        Jim,
I don’t think it is as simple as that. If, for instance, the current government took over the money printing what do you think would be the outcome? As well as abolishing the Fed, we need to insist on sound money backed by precious metals or other hard commodities.

      • denniso

Private banks do not print money. They lend money and have to keep a small percentage in reserves. The fed dictates fiscal policy and the treasury prints the money.

  • Geo

I would like to see this happen, I believe it was the intent to of our Fore fathers to have each branch of government be a balance and a CHECK to other parts of government to keep things like what is happening FROM happening. We ignore the simplicity of the constitution and label it as progressive thinking…

Go Ron Paul!… I do not agree with everything you stand for, but I would go for this…

    John

  • http://victorbarney@embarqmail.com Victor L Barney

I love Ron Paul, but I’m afraid that he is wrong. There has been a take-over of our government by the Marxist, mainly reinforced by the (anti)-intellectual movement started in college in the 60′s. That movement appeals to the intellectuals, especially women, who more verbally intellectual then men. I would not even be surprised to see no election in 2010 because of another lie passed on the the public before the 2010 election! (Do you know that Jim Carter had to be a Mason in 1972 before becoming president?) Otherwise, all this Marxist stuff would be reversed in 2010, which I do not see happening. Remember this: I am prediction an environment in 2011 worse than the great depression of 1929! Don’t forget, “Another will come in his own name, and he you will believe”. Try Lucifer!

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Sorry Victor, but I wont believe him. You see, I and many others will recognize him when he comes. He wont fool me. And dont you worry, God is in control, not the left, not the right, not you or I. Be assured, its all ok my friend.

      • http://victorbarney@embarqmail.com Victor L Barney

You are right and you are wrong! This anti-messiah will even deceive the elect if that were possible. PS: I hope the you are from the universal mother church (Catholic (universal)in the Vatican) because it was they in 1520 (Petrus Galatinus) to give the high deity of Greece honor, when he invented the name “Jesus” to honor “Zeus”! I do believe that contradicts the 10 commandments! Don’t be deceived by the big lie!

PS: The bible is about the Hebrew high deity and everyone spoke Hebrew before babel and Yahweh speaks in Hebrew (Zephanyah 3:9; Acts 26:14). There is no “J” in Hebrew. Try using: It was Yahshua came in the name of Yahweh! Not the Babylon deity Gawd (GOD) and Zeus! Please check!!!

      • http://www.truth1.org Scott Ervin

Interesting conversation. As I read it in Gen. 10, Hebrew was a language after the pre-flood original was “confused” or mixed up, diversified. Heber was only one of may from Shem’s line.

As for the anti-Christ/Messiah, most will get fooled because they are expecting a physical visible fleshly return of the Christ and someone is going to give them just what they want, so they think. Jesus will return but no one will see him coming in the clouds.

People will fall for the “other worldly” technology and twisted interpretations of prophecy. But those who know their God will not be fooled. They know an imposter is due to show up fairly soon. I would say by 2012, which will no doubt be used as one of those lying signs and wonders. Would I like to you? ;-)

      • DaveH

What if you guys are wrong, and there is no God? Does that mean we throw out the Ten Commandments and disrespect each other? I hope not. I advocate freedom for all. We need to get along or we are never going to progress to freedom.

While you’re at it, get rid of ALL of them. None are any better than the other. And the Crystal guy (not the General) he is knows nothing. Everyone thinks they know it all. Well, look who we voted for, past and present. Did we do a good job voting then and now?

      • Claire

Another thing regarding ALL media—if these people think they know it all and are so darn smart, why in heck haven’t they come up with solutions to our problems? Why aren’t they President? I’ll tell you why, they aren’t as smart as they think they are. All they have is their mouths. And ALL of them keep flapping with no results. All they do is nit pick on everybody and try to instill all the hate and dysfunction they possible can come up with to make Americans fight amongst themselves. None of them are honest, upstanding Americans. Can you imagine any of them running our country? It would be a disaster. So as far as I am concerned, when they pick on the Dems they better consider the Repubs too.

      • Claire

Also, Ron Paul is BETTER than a Republican, I will consider him a Libertarian.

      • Claire

I am to the point where I do not want to watch the news on TV nor listen to the radio.
I’ll get my info from the Internet, I guess.

        Claire,
If the Politicians weren’t micromanaging every aspect of our lives, they wouldn’t need to be so pure.

      • jim

Hi Claire, You may not trust the TV or radio media, but to count on the computer for your info is just as much of a crap shoot. You’re reading this and I can write any ol thing. As for your list of scumbags I trust them more than any of the Bam unists. Rahm Emanual, Eric Holder, Hilly and all the other graduates from the Fidel Castro& Hugo Chavez School of Government.

It’s even worse than my being greeted in the UN, as a teenager, by a gigantic white horse standing there, as I went in the door, not a dove!

  • Richard H

I agree that the Fed should be abolished. (it never should have been formed in the first place) Is there a petition site anywhere that people can register to force this issue? Thanks in advance.

  • Judy S.

Congress is part of the problem. Only those who agree with their goal to destroy our economy with unending wars and robbery are allowed political office today. The Super Delegates control “change”. They are unelected and therefore don’t represent the people. Before there is change (like an audit of the reserve) we have to get rid of the party elite. It is unconstitutional since the are not elected but “selected”.

    • http://victorbarney@embarqmail.com Victor L Barney

Delegates, who control “change,” are only allowed to do so according to the party platform. Believe me, both parties are out to destroy the republic, knowingly or not. Also, please remember that organized crime which is totally into the New World Order concept, is connected with the democratic party. Ever hear of the coming “New World Order?” Well brace yourself. That’s what this global warming lie is all about, as well as the trilateral plan to collapse the world’s economy.

      • DaveH

You’re right Victor. We need to also get out of the freedom-robbing United Nations.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I agree Dave. Its like were that fish you see in the water, and the United Nations is that lamprey thing attached to the side of it, sucking the life out of it daily. They need to be sent out of this country, and our money pulled from supporting them. They are just a bunch of terrorists running around free in our country, doing damning things to us, and somehow having us pay for it. We need to part ways with them, and deport them all out of our country and not allow them back.

Once again…just more paranoia and clueless spouting of nonsense!!Quite amazing how foolish you people sound, ranting about things you know essentially nothing about! I’ve wondered before, now again, are you all locked up somewhere, hopefully securely???

        More dribble from the Donkey.

Dave, One of the most shocking things that has surprised me in my life is when I, as a teenager (I’m going on 62 now), walked into the UN and saw, not a dove, as I had imagined, but a gigantic white horse greeting me! That was scary in my mind and I have never become less petrified by this image of the beast! Vic

      • Skipfoss

I agree totally Victor the fed needs to go and those who support it both parties have covered for the fed since it’s inseption, I very seldom agree with Ron because of some of his off the cuff statments and ideas. But we do need to get Pelosi ,Reid and Ho Chi Kerry out and to reverse all of their legislation. The next step is to get Ovomit and his Muslim Communist czars out. Stop all of these appologies and kick the Useless Nations out of the US and cut out the billions that we give them every year to under cut us and give supplies to the Jihadist

      • DaveH

Do you know for a fact that Ron’s statements are wrong? We have been propagandized for most of our school years about the necessity of Big Government. It’s understandable that we are afraid of the unknown (Limited Government). Ron is one of the few that consistently votes against Big Government. We need more like him.

I do believe that J F Kennedy was going from Dallas TX to return to Washington to start the dismantling of the Fed. and of course, we all know how he failed to return to Washington. You are dealing with dengareous men in high places. Ron Paul has the right ideas and he is the real type of leadership we need, when I speak of (we) I am thinking of the nation that is waking up, It seems this nation as been asleep like Rip Van Winkle for a hundred years of letting the government take care of us….This administration that is in power now is so drunk on power that they would do anything to keep power, I would be on the watch, for anything that they will try too do to end the voting rights, You know that the Bilderberg Bunch own Obama the Piper and the following rats in government. and that the agenda is aimed at anything that would add too the NEW WORLD GOVERNMENT and they have a time line about nine years away. The main reason for all this money spending is payback and to lower the value of the dollar, for the reason of lowering your living standard to equal Mexico and Canada so that you will tuck nicely into the new government. It’s a good thing for this country to be waking up…My only question is…Is it too late.

      • denniso

What can one say in response to such paranoia and flaky ‘thinking’??
The fed killed Kenedy?? You are so far off base, but if Kenedy were alive today you people would be trashing him as well as Obama.

      • J C

Kennedy spoke of the evil which pervades America. (The Fed) and that he would make sure that every American was aware of it…and Bang! He was dead. Shot by a lone gunman (3 shots?) from a book repository leased by Prescott Bush, the launderer of money for the Nazi’s. Wilson prayed on his death bed for forgiveness from God for what he had done to the American people (The Fed). The farther you research “facts” the dirtier it gets.

  • David Forde

It would be a good step in the right direction. As it is Social Security will be broke by 2010 not that their telling you that either.Government has become out right dishonest. It hides facts and figures sometimes in plain sight. Why/ because they think your dumb!Sadly for them there are plenty of people who can unscramble their false accounting practices.

  • chris robins

I agree with Mr. Paul…The Fed is a joke and must be done away
with. At least we must be able to audit the Fed..Also please
do not vote to give the Chairman another 4 years.

    • David

Gee Chris – what “Chairman” gets 4 years?
Senators serve for 6, congressmen for 2. Only the President has a 4 year term and only signs of rejects legislation, and that can be overcome by a 2/3 vote of congress. The only 4 year guy is the President Pro-Tem of the Senate, the Vice President of the United States.
      To whom do you refer??

      • RefreshTheTree

He refers to the chairman of the Federal Reserve system who serves a four year term. He is appointed by the president, then approved by Congress.

      • RefreshTheTree

But I am sure you are way smarter than this chris robins guy as you comment seems to try to show.

  • s c

Ron Paul is, of course, right. However, other issues must be included in forcing the Fed to submit to an audit. First, nancy pelosi has proved time and again that she is not fit to hold office. If she is not a part of the Fed scam, she might as well be. She can’t be allowed to prevent any inquiries or efforts to eliminate the Fed.
What happened in 1913 is not to be found in most history books. That is when congress surrendered to a private corporation, and America took a huge step toward slavery. The names of those in congress who let this happen should be held up to public ridicule forever.
The fact that the Fed has found ways to avoid an audit proves that Congress works for the Fed. The Fed does not work for Congress or the American people. The Fed is inherently an unconstitutional
concept. Is it not strange that no leaders could find reasons to challenge the Fed’s existence? Is it not more than strange that the Supreme Court was never a part of eliminating the Fed?
Over the years, the Fed’s main ‘accomplishment’ has been to weaken the dollar, and it serves as the primary engine behind keeping inflationary forces alive in the economy. The idea that a president should have a part in appointing someone to run the Fed would have caused an overnight rebellion among the Founding Fathers.
Regardless of how destructive the Fed has been since 1913, members of Congress will line up to defend it. That alone should be more than sufficient to help people understand what is so wrong with the Fed and those who defend it. In effect, the Fed is a domestic enemy. How can anyone call himself a patriot when such a clear and present danger exists and has existed for so many years?
Nancy Pelosi is not the only “public servant” who has willingly earned the coast-to-coast wrath of an oppressed and enraged America.

    • Judy S.

Those who support the Feds regardless of their failure to answer the pillage of our treasury are traitors.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Nancy Pelosi is as dirty as dirt can be. Maybe she should be investigated also, as it most likely will show the Fed throwing bucks her way to stop this investigation. She is unfit to be a public servant, and should be kicked out immediately. She is a disgrace to the American people, a disgrace to politics and a disgrace to the Democratic Party, and that my friend is hard to do.

    • American Citizen

So, Nancy Pelosi is blocking the audit. What does she have to hide? That’s the question that immediately came to my mind.

    • Samuel

Inflation is a myth perpetuated by the fed. The real injustice they perpetrate is by continually increasing debt levels and thereby debasing the currency. We will eventually owe so much we will never be able to pay it back because the debt will be greater than the circulation of money. The way they charge interest is exactly how the Bible says to take control of a country (Deut. 23:19-20). Interest (usury) is the feds form of thievery to steal all the wealth of this great country. The fed is made up of foreigners and not brothers and should be driven out of this country before the take-over is complete. Abolish the fed and their collection agency the irs. If you really want to understand the Federal Reserve, read “The Creature From Jekyll Island” by G. Edward Griffin. Great book. Google it.

      • S. H.

I am reading that book even as we speak…a real eye opener…I challenge everyone to read this book and get educated about the things that are happening to this great land…we are losing our freedoms little by little. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!

      • Carrie

Losing our freedoms has been creeping up on us quietly and little by little for years, but now all of a sudden, it is on a roller coaster ride that keeps getting faster and faster.
Question…Is it possible to go back on the gold standard? Where would we get the gold to do that? These are serious questions. I really want to know. If ‘We the people’ managed to take control of our freedoms, can we accompolish this?
It’s going to take time and money to change things but…with the economy in the tank, the money is not there. At least not for us on a fixed income (fixed means there’s no wiggle room).

    • Chris

s.c. You are right on target with those remarks. The American people however do seem to be waking up albeit slowly. As Ron Pauls’ remark about hoping violence does not erupt due to the weakening of our civil liberties by the patriot act, this to may bear pressure on those in congress. Violence is a last resort solution just as it was for our founding fathers. While I would not rule out the possibility, even Jefferson remarked that “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” So our founding fathers knew that all governments eventually become corrupted by the people elected to serve. Let’s hope the forthcoming elections provide for a revival of the spitit in which this country was founded, or be prepared for one the likes we should not want to see.
