Research: Combination Of Light Therapy And Green Tea May Reduce Skin Aging

November 9, 2009 by

Combination of light therapy and green tea may reduce skin aging, research findsThose looking for all-natural ways of preserving the skin’s youthful appearance may soon have another option to turn to as researchers have shown light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and a green tea extract-based cream may help reduce wrinkles.

Although phototherapy has been used to treat skin imperfections for many years, scientists from Germany have demonstrated that combining it with antioxidant-rich green tea cream may help eliminate potentially harmful reactive oxygen species produced by light therapy.

During the course of the study, the researchers applied a daily combination of LED light and green tea lotion to the wrinkles of a human volunteer for one month and found that it resulted in "less pronounced wrinkle levels, shorter wrinkle valleys and [a more] juvenile complexion."

Based on these results, they say the experiment has opened a new way to effective, safe and non-invasive rejuvenation process. The study has also contributed to the body of knowledge on the impact of reactive oxygen species on cellular aging.

Individuals interested in boosting their immunity and a preserving youthful appearance may also turn to antioxidant nutritional supplements.

Yes, tea is great for anti-aging, and it’ll show on the outside when you drink a lot of tea. Just commit to drinking tea and practically nothing else and you’ll never have the appearance of growing old with lots of wrinkles. The light therapy is an added benefit.

well, where is the proof ?
green tea has never been shown to be a longevity thing…

also, the polyphenols of green tea are very little absorbed in humans, less than 3% is, …so, dont believe them when they say its 300 times better antioxidant than so and so…

any culture living long on green or black teas also had many other foods, lifestyles, less polution, no refined flour nor sugar, and very little vegetable oils high in omega-6 balance, and some calorie restriction and at least 5 hours of daily labor and less stressful social network..
