Obama's Gay Rights Goals Face Burdens

October 19, 2009 by

Obama's gay rights goals face burdens As President Barack Obama directing pressure on Congress to expand gay rights by repealing the Defense of Marriage Act, members of the Democratic party indicated that the proposal may face opposition.

The law, which was signed by President Clinton in 1996, defines marriage as a type of union between a man and a woman and in practice, allows states not to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states.

Clinton, since approving the Defense of Marriage Act 13 years ago, says he no longer opposes same-sex marriage.

Although Obama maintains a belief that marriage is between a man and a woman, the president has taken a stance in support of civil unions for same-sex couples, which extend many of the same rights as traditional marriage.

Reports from CNN Politics indicate that some Democrats do not share Obama’s enthusiasm for the law’s repeal. "We can move forward on a lot of measures, but I’m not sure there’s the support yet" for repealing the Defense of Marriage Act, said Senator Bob Casey, a Democrat from Pennsylvania.

Debbie Stabenow, a Democratic Senator from Michigan explained one impediment to the repeal nothing the "challenge" in representing one of the many U.S. states that has laws prohibiting same-sex marriage.

The president’s gay rights goals include ending the military’s "Don’t ask, don’t tell" policy, which proponents believe can be achieved by getting a buy-in from the military.

Hmmmm You people hava said everything I wanted to say also.
I think we should impeach BHO before any more Nazi or Communist
and Homo criminal laws destroy the Church.
We the People of the USA don’t want you and YOUR style of the
    60′s hippie John Lennon music.

    • Mark

Then live your own life, and stop trying to impose your belief system on others. Take care of yourself, love yourself and yours, but treat others with respect and dignity. Why all the hate? Is that part of your religion too?

      • Greg

People settled in the United States because they wanted religious freedom! Thats why this Country is here! HEY!!! PEOPLE CAN PRAY ANY DAMMED PLACE THEY WANT!!! YOU DON’T LIKE IT, PISS OFF!! THIS IS A CHRISTION COUNTRY!!! IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN!!!

      • eyeswideopen

Greg, sorry to inform you, but our founding fathers set this country up to not have a national religion and like it or not a large number were atheists. This country was founded under God, but not Christ. It wasn’t until 1956, that Congress passed the act to have IN GOD WE TRUST put on our money officially. Dude you need some knowledge, the internet makes it easy, just do the work. This country was not founded under Jesus Christ.

      • DaveH

Maybe you need to look harder. From the first amendment:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”.
What part of that last phrase do you not understand?

      • American Citizen

For those of the Jewish faith, Christians are also Jews as they follow the teachings of a Jew. Jesus did not do away with the OT, he fulfilled it. We need the whole library of books (the Bible) to understand how God wants us to live. Any Christian who puts down anyone of the jewish faith is putting down jesus. He never renounced his Jewish faith.

      • eyeswideopen

Exactly, they didn’t want you or anyone else telling them what to believe, so why do you want to force people to believe what you want them too?

      • ccg

Who is forcing? No one can force anyone to do or believe what they don’t want ot. Including you eyes, you can’t force your opinion on everyone else no matter how hard you try, or how sarcastic in how you do it.

  • American Citizen

It’s time we forced all those in Congress to have to live by the laws they have passed on the rest of us. 2010, hurry up.

  • American Citizen

I really wish people would LISTEN to what Obama says and “read between his lies”. Unfortunately for this country, far too many people have a comprehension problem and an inability to foresee the future. I think God is telling us something and we’d all better wake up and “smell the coffee.” Otherwise, this country will go the way of all other civilizations that ignored God’s laws.

    • Mark

To which god do you refer?

  • TucsonLady

Here in Arizona we already have Civil Unions yet we had to vote for Marriage between one man and one woman. Gays don’t just want civil unions…. they are not satisfied with that. They want to be married. I think they are out to destroy anything that looks religious by making themselves above all that. I thought most states still have laws on the books about sodomy, etc.. I think if the government wants all this health care, gay rights, then they too must part-take. How would Obama like his kids marrying into their same gender? Hmmm… maybe it would be a different story. Oh wait… Aren’t they going to a private school where they is most likely not taught that it’s ok. Aren’t they exempt from this health care nonsense?

    • Mark

The last few remaining sodomy laws were invalidated in 2003 by the U.S. Supreme Court decision Lawrence v. Texas. Sorry, I know too well that ignorance can be bliss, but perhaps it’s time to wake up.

Religion doesn’t have a patent on the WORD “marriage”. Marriage of flavor, marriage of scent, marriage or people, etc.

The HONEST summary of what many of the opposition is simply “we hate homo’s” and “we don’t want homo’s to have equal rights”. So let’s dispense with the phony “save marriage” balogna already!

      • JeffH

Mark, I was born and raised in the Bay Area across from SF. I have worked with and have been aquainted with gays. I might not approve of their sexual orientation, but I do realize that they are humans and the gay men and women I have met and known haven’t tried to sway my beliefs in that regard. Most times, if I hadn’t know they were gay already, I still wouldn’t know it. I voted for prop 8, but what goes on behind closed doors is not my business or anyone elses. I don’t believe in gay marriage nor do I believe that benefiets should be the same. Keep it out of the classroom, as someone that is gay will know it soon enough.

      • JeffH

Once again it is government forcing their will onto the people. Let the people decide. Think about what is transpiring in this discussion. I have seen more direct hate talk here than in any other blog. Usually, it is the liberal left that talks that way, but today, it is the conservatives turn I guess. I am not gay, but I agree that those people that are gay didn’t have a say in their sexual orientation either. Don’t hate and don’t be homophobic. This is America and we all have the right to make our own choices, still!

      • DaveH

I’m proud of you Jeff for keeping an open-mind even when raised in that environment. The newspapers in the San Francisco area are incredibly biased to the left. I wouldn’t blame anybody who was raised in that area for being liberal, but it’s nice to see that some of you break free.

      • JeffH

I was raised with conservative values and having been raised in the Bay Area there wasn’t racism and eventually later in life I worked with and associated, at times, with some people that were homosexual. Nice people that never attempted to force their lifestyle choices on to me. I learned to respect them although I didn’t agree. Live and let live I guess. I didn’t care for the politics, and have had bitter feelings for the likes of Boxer, Pelosi, and the queen witch herself, former mayor of San Francisco, Diane Feinstein. I don’t like their politics and certainly don’t like their influence in California or this great country. California is a screwed up state and they are very responsible for a great deal of Californias economic problems. I am sure that I will be leaving Ca witin a few years, but it won’t have been the gays that have influenced my decision to go.

      • Mark

That’s the whole problem. The issue should never have been floated to the public for a vote. This is a civil rights issue.

      • JeffH

Mark, whether we agree or disagree, you are correct. This is clearly a civil rights issue, regardless of it’s morality.

      • eyeswideopen

Mark, the problem is that some groups don’t want others to have the same civil rights that they enjoy. You would have thought that by 2009 we would have finally accepted that everyone has the same rights and religious beliefs don’t trump rights.

  • Sonny

I personally feel that Obama is doing everything possible to destroy our country. Gay rights, healthcare, cap and trade, bowing to king of Saudi Arabia, apologizing for America and his tratment of Israel. My feelings about where his allegiance lies is he’s a socialist and a narricist. We as Christians should stand up and be heard, the last time we didn’t we lost Prayer in school because of one person.

    • Mark

If you want prayer in school so badly, why not send your children to a private school, or if you’re too poor, do home schooling?

Separation of church and state has been part of the Constitution long before you were born.

      • Andrew

        Mark,

Like BHO, the kenyan imposter, you advertise {& thus astonish us with your} ignorance. Separation of Chuch & state is most definitely NOT found anywhere in our Constitution. In fact, references are found to the Almighty in the Declaration of Independence & in speeches made by the Founding Fathers of our republic in regards to the dire necessity to remain Christ-centered or else we’d most assuredly suffer the same fate as Sodom & Gomorah. The term separation of Church & state was initially found in a letter of correspondence from Jefferson to a pastor in Danbury, Connecticut who feared that one Christian denomination would prevail over all the rest of the then existent Christian denominations; Jefferson merely tried to assure the pastor that this could not be possible since no Christian denomination could have prevalence over others. The Suprerme Court, the Congress, along with other governmental entities have their sessions begun with readings from the Bible. The President takes the oath of office from the Bible {since the days of Washington}. Countless articles have been published by Jefferson, Madison, and others {& speeches given by our first President, by Linclon among others} concerning the dangers America would fall into in the event Americans & their government ever separated themselves from God. No!! You are most definitely wrong. There is no Separation of Church & state.

      • Mark

        Heh.

        Spoken not unlike your Führer.

      • Mark

“…The separation of church and state is a legal and political principle derived from the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which reads, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . .” The modern concept often credited to the writings of English philosopher John Locke, the phrase “separation of church and state” is generally traced to an 1802 letter by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists, where Jefferson spoke of the combined effect of the Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment. It has since been quoted in several opinions handed down by the United States Supreme Court, though the Court has not always fully embraced the principle.”

      • eyeswideopen

Andrew, you don’t know why we don’t have a national religion do you? heh heh, maybe you should research why. lol

  • Johnny Valentine

In a nut shell: This Obama monstrosity has me entirely bugged. He walks around, running off with the mouth about things he knows little or nothing about, while the college idiots, nearly all television news networks, nearly all newspapers, and nearly all of today’s Hollywood crowd, worship at this guys feet. Look, this guy is an imposter. He’s not our “President”, because Kenyan born people don’t qualify for job and he and all the other blood suckers in Washington know it. We are being “played” and right now, they seem to be getting away with it and they think it’s funny. Obama and company are busy rippin’ apart our way of life and whether people like the comparison or not, Adolf H., also a Socialist, applied the same bullying methods in achieving his goals.
If “gay’s” (true definition meaning “happy”, something that most “gays” are not)want to play footsie behind closed doors or whatever, fine, but they should not be allowed to screw up the meaning of “marriage” and they SHOULD NOT be allowed to tamper with the teaching of OUR CHILDREN!! Obama, if you like Jennings, then let him be the “Safe-School-Czar” for your own children, but keep this twisted freak away from OUR CHILDREN!! Obama, you are NOT our President, you DO NOT control OUR lives, we didn’t “GO FORTH AND PROCREATE” so that you and your freaks can suddenly steal them from us, you have absolutely NO ability to fix OUR country (if OUR FOUNDING FATHER’S didn’t think of it already, you sure won’t!), WE KNOW that you are “attempting” to destroy OUR country(not your’s, Kenyan), and remember, when you are thrown out on your Kenyan butt, we will reverse everything that you’ve done here!! Smile now, funny boy.

  • Larry Schmitt

Is Barock Abomonation wiser than God? If he destroyed Sodom and Gamora
Will Barock be this countrys demise. Yes I think so
He is a very imoral man

  • Jack Kinch(1uncle)

Demo is a party of ‘special interest groups’. It takes a lot of lies and our taxes to keep them all in line. Sometimes it isn’t easy. Gays should stay in the closet to not disgust all the rest of us. Should not be a ‘special interest group’ in politics.
States should pass an amendment stopping the federal congress from giving benefits to ‘special interest groups’.

    • Angela Sherman

We’ll never be in the closet and it’s just a matter of time before we get our rights. I pay taxes too in this country. If you want to make me a second class citezen then don’t force me to pay for the social security your going to collect and the medicare your old azz needs. IT WILL NEVER GO AWAY. YOUR CHILDREN ARE GOING TO SEE IT! THANK GOD KIDS TEND TO DISBELIEVE WHAT THERE PARENTS BELIEVE. I WILL HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS THE CLOCK IS TICKING…CLICK…CLICK….CLICK

This Administration is doing it’s darndest to destroy the US from within. We have clearly seen that in the last nine months. If we do not stop it now by saying No to Repealing the Defense of Marriage Act, this take over of our Health Care by Big Government and NO to an Amnesty that will surely destroy our country then we are lost. The American people are now aware of what is happening and starting to speak out so Spread the Word and let’s stop this madness. We must make Obama and his minions do the Will of The American People. Say NO to Any Hate Crimes Bills!!!

  • Isabella

Does marriage have a definition or not? You can call a doorknob a weedwhacker but it will never cut your grass for you.

  • JeffH

Obama is confused once again. I believe in “don’t ask, don’t tell”.
His appointment of the “school czar” Jennings prety much define where he stands, to educate children about homosexuality. If someone is a homosexual, they know it and don’t need the governments encouragement to decide. I don’t support gay marriage, Californians don’t support gay marriage as shown by the Prop 8 vote, and as usual, California legislators feel they know better than the majority and are doing everything they can to overturn that vote.
The U.S. House Speaker, California Representative (8th District), Nancy Pelosi along with twenty other members of the 53 member California congressional delegation and both of California’s U.S. senators, Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer, voiced their opposition to Proposition 8

  • Jim T

A cursory study of law suits brought by gays due to alleged discrimination shows they have protections enough and rights far beyond “fair” in our country. In the liberal states like Mass. or Cali children are forced to learn that the gay lifestyle is acceptable regardless of the health problems associated with it. We need the Defense of Marriage Act to protect the one area retaining some protection.

  • riaz masih

dear beloved great american please for sake of God condemn Guy law

  • Russell EnDean

Although it would be a rare exception for Obama to keep a promise, and one I would prefer, we have many greater issues facing our country which effect 100% of the population. There is not a lot of time left before we impeach and deport this non-citizen Muslim fraudulent charlatan, and some his colleagues. so he had better hurry up.

  • Deanna

I thought BO was not going to give into special interest groups. Ever since they came out of the closet they have done nothing but cause the moral decay of our youth. Showing them that this behavior is okay which in God’s eyes it is not okay. They have also hurt the idea & sanctity of what a marriage should represent between two people(man & woman only).

  • Disgusted

How is it that these groups, which actually consitute less than 1% of the population, have such influence on our government? Is it a case of the squeeky wheel getting the grease? If so, those of us who believe in GOD and his laws should stand up and make as much noise as possible. A woman and a man were created by GOD to perfectly fit together and procreate. Men with Men and Women with Women is an abomination.

    • RM

I agree a 100%. (WORDS REMOVED FOR OFFENSIVE CONTENT)This country was founded on Christian believes not islam or any other form of religion.
I’m really tired of being nice and watching or rights being taken away by less than 1% of the population. I have also heard enough of his Revamping Health Care. It is more like shoving it down our throats and saying you like it don’t you. No I Do Not.

    • TxforUSA

I agree with you. 1% of the population CAN make a change when the other 99% keep quite. That 99% (you and me) are finally waking up to the fact that we need to be involved and fight some of these radical ideas. There is a book called “The Marketing of Evil”, by David Kupelian. It is worth your time to read it. In the meantime, let’s write our elected officials freqauently and let them know our positions.

      • JeffH

        Exactley and well stated.

      • DaveH

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing” (Edmund Burke).

      • eyeswideopen

What one percent are you referring too? If you are speaking about the Dem’s they are a larger percentage than 1%. One percent of the population does hold 95 percent of the wealth, is that what you are talking about? Every body likes to say 99 % of the wealth, however I saw couple of days ago, that real estate holdings amoung the remaining class of less wealthy is around 5 %. Hoorah for us.

      • eyeswideopen

I really know what one percent you are speaking of, It just made me want to make you say the word. It doesn’t matter how small their numbers are. They have rights equal to yours and mine. No one tells you that it is gross or against the law if your wife gives you sex other than intercourse, or if you swing from the ceiling during sex. If you have sex in the bathtub, backyard, car, or if you use toys or creams. To some people that is an abomination. God gives us trials and expects us to the obey the Ten Commandants, but not try and create a new one. If you notice the issue of homosexuality was not addressed in those ten. God wants us to bring unto him, those who have heard the word, he doesn’t say but I want you to judge them and fix their sin’s first.

      • BOE

eyes..you are so stupid..you don`t know you are stupid. Think about that a minute. You are not convincing any of us.

    • April

Then let’s get SQUEAKIN’. I invite ALL GREAT AMERICANS TO Squeak in harmony with me. “America, America, God shed His grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea.” Let’s not allow O and his cronies to take our Nation.

And for all you who choose to defend O and his evil cronies, Go right on ahead, give it all you got and squeak your loudest. The majority out number you and will eventually drown you out.

      • JeffH

I pledge allegiance to the flag of The United States of America…

  • Warren Gardner

For years people have protested against civil government legislating morality, especially in areas related to sexuality. The fact is that all civil laws do legislate a morality, and there seems to be universal acceptance for civil laws prohibiting stealing. The real question is do we want to have a morality that is legislated by God or do we want to have morality that is legislated by men. Supposedly in the United States the rule of law is the will of the people expressed through the democratic process. At present, however, we do not even have law based on the will of the people. A majority of the people have been opposed to same sex marriage and homosexual practice, but the minority who favor these practices are attempting to use the resources of the government to force the majority to submit to their morality. Man’s laws are fickle and changing. Our country would be far better off with civil legislation that follows God’s laws.

    • Mark

The “majority rule” is often described as a characteristic feature of democracy, but without responsible government or constitutional protections of individual liberties from democratic power it is possible for dissenting individuals to be oppressed by the “tyranny of the majority”.

Yes, it’s true: This speaks of the country you cohabitate. It’s not yours alone. On reviewing your ‘his – story’, your christian religions all stem from a murderous group. Seems the apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree.

    • April

      Warren Gardner
The Laws were started by God. And there is a reason they have lasted through out all time. The majority wants to keep them. And then there is that 10% who wants to pervert what God made good. They think they have found their loop hole by infiltrating the system and try to use the law against the majority “WE the People”.

  • James Corbin

Homosexuality is a sickness! Babies are born with cancer and other diseases. People cannot practice this if they expect to go to heaven—–Because this act is a sin in the sight of God.

I think homosexuality is forbidden by the muslim religion!!!!

    • David

Not to mention if they are allowed to adopt. What’s a child to think growing up around two homosexuals. Will the child end up gay by association?

      • Rod

David, What do you mean – If? They are already able to adopt a child!

      • April

I took David to mean that we need to take another look at adoption in this type of environment and reconsider the best interest of the child. And that it may be assumed that the child is gay due to association, when that may not be the case at all.

      • eyeswideopen

Don’t get out much do you?

      • libertytrain

eyes – with your “Don’t get out much do you” – comment – I want so much to respect your opinion and consider what you have to say – even debate at some point- however, I can’t quite warm-up to your unkind sarcasm —-

      • eyeswideopen

liberty, that wasn’t meant to be mean, I was asking a question. It appears that he must not be out in the world very much, which would explain him not understanding that you can’t catch gay. It was going to define my next response to him. If he was being real and is that isolated, my recommendations would be different, than if he was being facetious, I wouldn’t waste my time recommending reading/internet material. Interesting that you automatically assumed that I meant something horrible.

      • libertytrain

eyes: That’s the way it came across – sarcastic – and unless that is your normal style in talking with people – you know exactly what I mean. Words may be the ‘source of much misunderstanding’ but …

      • eyeswideopen

No, Liberty, I was just tired, this takes alot out of you, I am also human, and don’t always go into a huge question and answer session. I should have probably said: I think from your statement that you are not exposed to many different ideas. Do you get much exposure to other points of view? Hell, it doesn’t sound any better than what I asked. Sorry, sometimes keep it simple doesn’t work with everyone.

  • Robin from Indiana

BHO said whatever it would take to sway votes for his campaign. It’s such a shame that people are so gullible and really thought he was the ‘messiah’. There is so much corruption in both parties that it would take a miracle to sort through it all and oust out the guilty ones. Our great nation has really fallen from what it once was.

The only thing we can do is pray, pray, pray that God will intervene on our behalf and that we will see a shift in government and only those with proven track records of morals and ethics will be running the country once again!

    • April

I agree Robin. We the People have to keep speaking out over and over and over and never shut up and never stop praying. We need to let the People know that they are not alone and build America back up with dignity. And not allow those who agree with corrupt policy and ideolgy to bring us down.

  • George

Didn’t Joe Biden state during the vice-presidential debate when the question was asked about gay marriage that he and President Obama were against gay marriage. Or was this just another lie.

  • Dee

It is up to the ‘States’ to decide whether gay marriages should be allowed in their state. I live in CA .. so far, we’ve had these ‘measures’ on our ballots twice. Each time, the citizens have voted ‘NO’ …to keep marriage only between an ‘man & woman’… they’ve taken this to the Courts again & again.. I understand another Proposition could possibly be on the Nov. 2010 ballot again.. California has many many ‘benefits’ for Gay & Lesbian couples, and it gives them every benefit that married people have.. “Civil Unions” are allowed, with full tax benefits as well.. I think that the President needs to ‘stop’ encouraging & promoting his ‘agenda’, and leave it up to the States, as some have already done, for their Citizens decide for themselves .. not the President!!

    • Mark

Actually, denial of the right to marriage for the homosexuals is a civil rights issue in this case, as we are not living in a theocracy. The bills that have been enacted to keep them from marrying fall under the category “tyranny of the masses”. The Constitution already has protections from this and upon re-review, these bills will be ruled unconstitutional. Give it time.

  • http://admin@manandwomanbalance.com Chris Anderson

Marriage is firstly a spiritual matter–the two shall become as one. Only a man and a woman (opposites) can become as one. Such is the process of union–from which a new birth (procreation) can emerge. The hidden)agenda of the “gay rights” movement is to separate sex from procreation. What out.

    • Angela Sherman

So since the first relationship in the BIBLE was incestual and many more after that actually. We should legalize incest and also include them in the religious right to marry! Awesome! The morals your Bible teaches your son’s and daughters are great! (words removed for offensive content)!

  • Barry

The Bible is clear that God created Adam and Eve and God said go procreate. The Bible also is clear that Homosexuality is a an abomination to God. It may not be to BO but it is to God.

Now I fear God more than being called a racist or a homophobe.

So judgement day comes for all and the question will be the same for everyone.

    • Ginny Wilson

HEY BARRY…GREAT GOING!!! I TOTALLY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID. GOD WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS KIND OF ABUSE OF HIS WORD AND/OR HIS COMMANDMENTS. BHO WILL ANSWER TO THE GOD WHO CREATED HIM ONE DAY AND HE WILL FIND OUT TOO LATE THAT BHO IS NOT GOD LIKE HE BELIEVES HE IS.
NOT ONLY AM I UPSET BY EVERYTHING HE IS DOING BUT I PITY HIM!!!

      GINNY

      • RM

        Ginny,
No I do not pitty him in the least. He only wanted votes. Well the only CHANGE I have seen is this country going to a more socialist liberal government where obama and his croonies control every aspect of our lives. They have already started there anti-gun agenda to take more control and disarm the law abiding citizens of this country.
If he likes a socialist form of government I suggest he move to another country. I and many many of my friends will not surrender our guns to any liberal socialist government for any reason.

      • Greg

Ginny Your right, Obama wants Big Goverment control of our lives! High unemployment! And printing money nonstop! Obama has created 4 times the debt Bush had!!! We have a Media that is nothing more than an extension of the White House!!! OBAMACARE IS A FRAUD!!! Barack Hussein Obama Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm wants to be our Master and RULE OVER US!!! He HATES THE WHITE MAN!!! OBAMA IS A RACIST!!! HE IS TRYING DISMANTLE AMERICA AND OUR CONSTITUTION!! I DON’T OBEY BIG GOVERMENT! That’s right! And Jesus is the one I agree with.

      • eyeswideopen

American, interesting that when anyone threatens a civil war, you just ignore them.

      • Jerry Cobb

Ginnt, in all due respect too you, this piece of “CAMEL DUNG” deserves no pity from anybody. This is the muslim sharia law wanted and paid dearly to get into the White House. Ever wonder this “TRAITOR” of our Constitution refused matching campaign funds? It was a very tricky way for him to get the neccessary monies to totally buy every major media(who are traitors in their own right for selling out our Great Nation, for the allmighty dollars from the sharia muslims), with the exception of Fox, who is the only media to get the truth tothe american people.
And this push from hussein obama on gay rights is only his pay back for the promises tothem for their votes. Just the same as his push for amnisty for the “law-breaking criminals” from south of the border. After all that was a promise campaign he made to them in order to buy their vote. It is time to start impeachment procedings against him, nazi peloisi, rangel, clinton, reid, joe bin-biden &the rest of his “ANTI-AMERICAN” cronies.
        Pity,NO-Expulsion,YES.

        Mr Cobb,
I salute you. I could not have said it better. The ones you named are just what you described and I do not care for any (WORD REMOVED FOR OFFENSIVE CONTENT) supporting, anti-gun, UnAmerican socialist liberal politicians. pelosi should be scared, the people have have had enough of the BS. What is she so afraid of? Because people are speaking there mind at the town hall mettings, and not buying the (WORD REMOVED FOR OFFENSIVE CONTENT) that obama is trying to stuff down are throats. I say if she does not like the fire then do not play with matches.

Do not forget Barry Soetoro is not a US Born Citizen Either!

He Also Confessed he was a Christian too!but also showed his true beliefs as a born Muslim, and appeaser to the world of Americas bullyism! and that is the down fall of BHO BS lie lie lie.

By the way you forgot the ML Whore House Harry Reid too ! I live in NV and he is on his way out!

The more we tolerate the more chance to witness to the unsaved that homosexuality will not be acceptable in the God of Abraham’s Heaven!

If BHO is an Muslim then he should practice what he speeches Islam does not tolerate homosexuals period they cut there heads off!

I do not want open displays off sexual deviancy in my America.

      • Palin12

Right on! I live in NV too and will help vote Reid out. BTW, Harry will be 70 this December, would be 71 upon reelection, and 77 when his next term is up. I hope Sue Lowden will be our next senator.

    • RM

I agree 100%. God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. Why do you think he destroyed Sodom&Gamorah because there were having a picknic. You people want gay marriage move to (WORD REMOVED FOR OFFENSIVE CONTENT) especially San Fransisco.

    • Palin12

We may have to change the term abomination to Obamination!

    • billy

BARRY if you think adam and eve actually existed then you probably also own a piece of the brooklyn bridge.

      • Debbie

Perhaps you are unaware of the lineage and genealogy of Jesus Christ as set forth in the Old Testament…umbilical cord to umbilical cord from Eve on through to Jesus Christ. No, thank you, no bridge for me.

      • Angela Sherman

So since Eve came from Adams rib that means Eve was made of the exact DNA of Adam hence we are all a product of incest. (Words removed for offensive content)

    It’s time.

Cheers, Joe Mustich, Justice of the Peace,

Let’s not forget the marriage is firstly a civil matter in America, as marriage liceneses are issued by and recorded in town halls, not church halls, or mosques or temples.

It’s time to end DOMA and DADT.

    • April

Why, with your JP experience, do you think it is time to end DOMA and DADT? Yes, marriage is a civil matter in America; but firstly it is a Godly institution between one man and one woman for the very purpose to make children and bring them into a already established orderly family unit; teaching their children to repeat the process. And although marriage licenses are indeed issued and recorded in town halls, pastors, priests, rabbis and ship captains are authorized to perform the marriage ceremonies too. And some churches do keep records.
It seems to me that the only reason one would want to do away with DOMA (Defence of Marriage Act) is so that gay couples could be recognized by the government or force other states to do the same. So far, I think DOMA is a good thing and we should NOT end it. As for DADT (Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell) I would have left well enough alone, but it seems to be leaving an opening for corruptness. I am still looking at the pros and cons on that one.

      • eyeswideopen

April, just because we are Christians doesn’t mean everything relates back to God and Jesus. Marriage is a civil affair. It can be a religious ceremony, however it doesn’t have to be. Atheists get married all the time. We can’t bring every situation back to a religious interpretation. People all have basic rights, regardless of their faith, lack of faith, gender, color, race, or sexual preferences.

      • April

And that is your right to think how and say what you want. But now you and the rest of the radical lefties are working hard to push the majority into a corner and we have been quiet gentle persons long enough. You do not have the right to push your ideologies on me and now I am pushing back. I do not give a flip, a hoot, nor a hollar what you think is popular, I do and say what I believe is right. So you do say and think what you want, but you will not shut me up.

      • eyeswideopen

Quite and gentle, hold on while I bust a gut laughing. LMAO!!! What world are you living in? You are all so loud on this site, it is unbelievable. We have people threatening civil war and you call that gentle??? lol lol lol.

  • carol

like everyone before him, Obama made promises to get elected. Advocated change – now once elected its a different story as usual…change only applies to some americans – there are no equal rights and protections for gay America…

    • David

He has his own party to deal with….some of them read the bible.

      • hyhybt

…which is doubly irrelevant: people on both sides read into the Bible what they want and expect to find there, and forcing others to abide by your understanding of the Bible goes against the 1st Amendment anyway.

      • eyeswideopen

        Excellent point.

      • Rod

David, arn’t you aware of the changes Thomas Jefferson made to the bible? A copy of that bible is still given to new Congressman and Senators when they come into office. I don’t think real Christians
would be happy with that “bible”.

      • libertytrain

Isn’t it referred to as the “Jeffersonian” Bible?

      • ggh

The bible also condones slavery? Do we allow that? No we don’t because that would be descriminatory…

    • RM

Gay America needs to leave America!

      • Scared Citizen

        Amen!

      • desertguy

What needs to leave America is hatred and you can lead the charge RM. This is my country as much as anybody else born here. Try living a life without fear. Seems you and many others continue to buy into the GOP agenda of keeping everyone fearful. Clinging to that bible is nothing more than a way to spread your hate. Google what is happening to children in South America because of the teachings of the bible.
They are being tortured and killed because they believe their children are witches. The missionaries that introduced this insane madness is based in California.

Every bible in the world should be burned!

      • Linda L Hill

If a person is gay, that’s ok, however, if society as a whole does not want to accept the gay agendas, then that is the right way. Society does not want to have explain to their children or anyone else, two women or two men kissing. The gay expression should be kept between themselves, just like any other intimate expression should be kept private. It should not be forced upon society by our government.

      • Angela Sherman

Guess what Linda I’m gonna kiss my girlfriend whether you allow us to marry or not. The difference between what they’ll see between my girlfriend and I and what you let them watch on MTV is love, commitment, and respect for one another. Stop blaming us for the moral decay of society which you straights started a longggg time ago. We’re not the ones who flocked to see “Deep Throat” when it was released into the theaters in the 70′s. When all you fanatics bring up sodomy and how it’s a sin you may want to remember that oral sex you gave or recieved last week. God didn’t intend for your hubbies swimmers to be trying to fertilize your tonsils!

    • American Citizen

Sodom and Gomorrah were historically real places and according to the OT, towns like San Francisco. They were destroyed by fire. Maybe that’s why San Fran has co many earthquakes.

      • DaveH

        Citizen,
I look at the Bible as a history book. I think the Sodom and Gomorrah episode was probably just one of many civilizations that over time lost all morality in their pursuit of pleasure. And their destruction may have been coincidentally by nature or I think more likely by each other or by an enemy force.
By itself the pursuit of pleasure is not wrong. But so often after the pursuer succumbs to the dangers of pleasure-seeking they seek relief for their mistakes from those who have lived the straight and narrow life. That’s when it becomes a problem. I think that is what is currently happening to our country.

      • shadow_man

Sodom and Gomorrah was not destroyed because of homosexuality. That is an inaccurate accessment.

The Sodom Story – Genesis 19:1-29
Homophobic Viewpoint: “Sodom was destroyed because of homosexuality.”
Scriptural Viewpoint: Sodom was a lush beautiful region of land whose inhabitants had known the goodness of God. Despite their exposure to, experience with, and witness of the one true loving Creator, the people of Sodom had rejected a relationship with God, and turned to numerous types of idolatry. When God’s messengers were sent to the city, the men of Sodom responded by threatening the ultimate act of violent abuse, murder, disrespect and humiliation. They were going to RAPE God’s representatives.

All other Old and New Testament references to Sodom involved the sins of idolatry, inhospitality, indifference toward the poor and the rejection of God’s messengers. There are NO REFERENCES to same sex acts or HOMOSEXUALITY. How you get homosexuality out of all that is simply laughable.

      • Dale, Oklahoma

While homosexuality was not the ONLY reason Sodom & Gomorrah
were destroyed, it IS one of the reasons. To deny the scriptural
references is either delusional or simply means that the only
“Bible” you’ve read is the politically correct version or the
Revised SUB-Standard Version. The word “homosexual” or “gay”
doesn’t appear in the Bible, but neither does the word pedophile,
gang rape, hate crime or scam artist. This doesn’t make any of
these types of people or activities acceptable does it???

You can be the…queen of denial all you want. Doesn’t change the
facts that the word “abomination” IS used in the Bible, which is
the only “act” described with THAT word in the Bible. And just as
nature abhors a vacuum. That’s what a world full of homosexuals
would be. Anything UN-natural is abhorrent to GOD AND nature.

This country does NOT need to go from an aberration,
        to an aberr-NATION!

      • DaveH

        Shadow,
Are you talking to me Liberal Word-Twister? If so, where in my statement did I use the word “homosexual”?

      • shadow_man

Name-calling! Already signs you lost the argument. Nice try though =)

      • DaveH

Is that the best you can do Liberal?
