Palin resigns as Alaska governor, stuns GOP

July 6, 2009 by

Palin resigns as Alaska governor, stuns GOP Alaska governor and former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has announced she will step down from her job at the end of July.

Palin provided few clues as the reasons for her decision, limiting herself to citing the alleged attacks by liberals since her ill-fated vice-presidential run, the need to protect her family, but also saying she was now " looking ahead and how we can advance this country together."

The move has caused consternation among the Republican Party, still grappling for a leader in the wake of last year’s electoral defeat. According to some commentators, Palin’s resignation is likely to deepen the disarray even further.

A recent Gallup poll showed only 34 percent of Americans view the Republican Party favorably, Bloomberg reports. Even among Republicans, 38 percent have an unfavorable view of their party and almost half can’t name an individual who speaks for it.

Democratic commentators, for their part, have suggested Palin’s decision was motivated by her desire to prepare to run for a "higher office" in 2012.

Since her resignation, rumors about an alleged corruption investigation against Palin have also been rampant, prompting the FBI to officially deny them.

I was a democrat !!!!! I didn’t vote for Obama. I watched him fliip-flop and all his corrupt friends and changed my mind. The left wing people are killing the democrat party. They move away from things that made our country great, Everything bad is now called good.

How could anybody say anything about Sarah Palin——- LOOK, we have a Community Organizer, for President ( don’t even have to have a degree for this) Now, we are getting a comedian in the senate. Nancy Pelosi, lied ( about water boarding) It was proven but nothing was done. How does these people get by with this? Obama has fliped-floped so much. How can anybody believe him?

  • Rod OH

This has nothing to do with “biased” media coverage. This person with her rambling air head answers and opinions caused her very own problems. Educated moderates and independents “ran” from the party last fall after this inept, incompetent, bumbling excuse for a politician was determined the VP candidate. She is just like high paid entertainers who battle the paparazzi. They love it when it is going their way and whine and complain when they create their own problems and it goes against them. As far as I’m concerned it is Good Riddance Sarah!

    • http://personalliberty.com ARBY

Hey Rod … just exactly when did she have any time off from the critics like you . You must like the LARGE Government that the Dems and Obama want ! If you really listen to her she is for personal freedom , smaller government and states rights .
What is wrong with that picture unless you like the Government to control every aspect of your life .

      • Rod OH

Arby, I have listened to her “rambling, incoherent dialogue” and have never heard anything so pathetic in my 40 years of voting. I am appalled that anyone considers this individual to be a candidate at this level of politics. For goodness sakes, she wes a governor of a “welfare type state” that paid their people back in oil premiums. That is just like Chavez does in Venezuela! Tell me how anyone can screw that up? And yes, I am critical of her and as a voter (and a very informed one) I have that right to do that!

  • Carl W

I have had enough of the attacks of so-called comedians such as David Letterman upon conservatives and Christians. He gets so vile, so vulgar and mean. You would never hear him or his kind say anything about Obama’s daughters being knocked up at a ball game. What kind of fools continue to watch his program anyway when there are so many choices on TV? Do you think the Palins could have done anything to prevent their daughter from having pre-marital sex any more than thousands of other parents could do? Probably not without going on dates with her. The big problem with these screwballs like Letterman and so many other liberals is that they think the girl should have had an abortion as so many liberal Democrats do.

I wish Sarah Palin and her family the best in the future, whether she continues in politics or not. She is a decent person and there are so few of them in politics these days. I’ve heard her Christian testimony. But I know there are some who will respond, “but she can’t use a gun and carry a bible too”. And the commandment translated “thou shalt not kill” actually reads as “you shall not commit murder”.There is a difference.

Governor Palin should run for the White House because she can be trusted….
I think she is an honest lady.

  • Ivy

    Keith,
you seem to be more astute than some writing here. The only thing I worry about with Sarah being president is the fact that Arabs consider women lower than dogs, and would give no credence to anything she might say as president. Even when Condy Rice went over there, all the leches did was leer, drool and look at her legs. Other than that one thing, Sarah would be great.

For those of you who don’t understand, here is an article from the Russian paper, Pravda that should wake you up.

American capitalism gone with a whimper
    http://english.pravda.ru/img/pravda-logo.gif
It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their “right” to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our “democracy”. Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different “branches and denominations” were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the “winning” side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the “winning” side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America .

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America ‘s short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama’s command that GM’s (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of “pure” free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a “bold” move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK ‘s Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our “wise” Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper…but a “freeman” whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set “fair” maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.
The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

dixie you are right about obama’s qualifications. He wasn’t even born in the USA.
His college papers prove it. Born outside of the country. Time to step down obama!
You know your days are numbered. That’s why you’re in such of a hurry to damage
    peoples lives.

Why are all the talking heads speculating about WHY Ms. Palin is resigning her governorship? It’s really hilarious how all the liars seem to think she’s lying. She TOLD us all why she’s resigning. The liars cannot conceive of an honest person. It is so foreign to their personal experience. It was far from a rambling speech she gave on Friday. It was a speech PACKED with information. IF people chose to listen. They just don’t get it and it seems a lot of you don’t either.

She’s quitting because she can’t do her job effectively anymore because of all the bogus ethics charges being lodged against her by the COMMIES who are deathly afraid of her. The cost in time and money for the state of Alaska has been overwhelming. She SAID as much in her speech. Did no one listen to her?

There’s another aspect. She’s not the typical politician who will hang around collecting her paycheck and other perks while her people, the actual people who pay her salary, pay for it. She actually remembers WHO is paying her and does not give lip service to that concept.

She is fresh, she is bold, and she is honest. She is just what we need to combat the EVIL that has overtaken this GREAT country. We will achieve greatness again only with someone like Sarah Palin to stomp on all the corrupt politicians in and out of office, Republican and Democrat. Go Sarah, Go!

  • Dan Heller

Those that seem to have the biggest difficulty with her resignation all come from the Washinton beltway. The belief that the most coveted thing a person can possess would be an elected office and how could anyone just give one up with out achieving a higher office is incomprehensible to them. There have been way to many elected officials neglecting their duties to one office to campaign for another. This gives her free reign to do what ever she pleases without compromising any of her positions.

  • s c

Most likely, Palin’s resignation won’t make much difference in the scheme of things. The neolibs/libs/duhs always need someone to dump on, and Palin was prime material [a woman who doesn't support abortion? a woman who's not a feminist? a woman who values the 2nd Amendment? a woman who doesn't want to bail out the known universe?]. According to neolib/lib/duh ‘standards,’ anyone who won’t bend over and smile to please them is fair game for whatever they want to dish out (via the flippin’ media). Absolute hypocrisy is at the heart of this warped, defective mindset. I wish Palin the best of luck. She, unlike the social engineering dictators who hate her,
has standards worth having. They don’t ‘get it.’ They never will.

  • casting

Palen had NO problem bashing her opponents, calling Obama a terrorist and so many personal attacks. When its on the other foot, she can only whine and complain. What if Hillary had given up when she got blasted. She certainly didn’t quit. Palen is a quitter and is toast. Governor of Alaska is equivalent to mayors of thousands of cities across the country. Alaska: 686,293, Charlotte, NC: 687,456. And the Charlotte mayor has tons more responsibility than Alaska Gov. And NC pop is 9,222,414!! How can anyone think she has “experience” enough for national politics.

    • DixieConnie

casting: how on earth can you justify Obama’s qualifications for PRESIDENT? He wasn’t even a Gov or Mayor. What is wrong with people’s thinking?

    • David

Great, casting, so I finally hear from one of the brilliant dems that helped keep the mayor of Charlotte out of the govenor’s office in the last election. We used to have a beautiful red state until the “state of mecklenburg county” turned so blue. We really wish you numb nuts would move back to your broken states, such as Ca, Mi, etc and stop screwing our state!

Palin is being attacked because she does represent the wholesomeness that is completely missing in DC. She would clean house and maybe if we asked nicely; she would work on term limits for the imbreeds.

    • keith

he IS a terrorist, heard of acorn? or did you just choose to ignore that fact.
      1. he has ties to definate decident groups that spout out hate to america.
      2. went to so called ”church” that brainwashed it’s congregation with vile propagandic style hate towards ethnicity.

7.has already broken so many campaign promises it’s laughable (liar)
8.is ruining our countries reputation and is making us now appear weak.
9.apologizes to our ENEMIES! this to a group who has sworn to destroy us. (seems to me he’s a ally of theirs!)
10.has confirmed muslims on his staff and more are being appointed every day.
11.is trying to did-arm the citizens of our nation.(let him try!)
12.would’nt even put his hand over his heart and say the pledge of allegiance! (traiterous act in my opinion and shows his true colors!)
13.his own voters not one could name ONE thing he did worthwhile prior to scamming his way into the presidency! (watch the you-tube vids,it’s kinda hilariously funny and alarming tah boot.)
14.is spitting on the constitution which is obviouse he cares NOTHING about.
15.sees he his tearing this country apart and is about to cause a civil war and is’nt stepping down volunteerily.(again this is what he wants, and i think he’s doing it on purpose and out of spite!)
16.is anti-israel.(could go there but you librals won’t listen)
damn i could go on and on and on and on.what more you librals need before you see what you have put in the most powerful office on the planent? you have a crook, liar, meglomaniac, deceiver, fanactic, inarticulate, unexperianced leader, etc….
SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE YOU’VE HEARD OF?………..let me give you a hint……………….HITLER!!!

Finally someone else said what I thought, He is a dangerous man!!

    • http://personalliberty.com ARBY

OK Casting …. have you heard of “Coward of County” ? I think she is taking the fight to them ! No matter what you think of her she is a WINNER not a quitter ! If she runs for President she has my vote and as much money as I can afford give , before Obama and the Dems taxes me to the poor house with their big government Programs .

  • Jerri Jeffres

I can almost understand Governor Palin resigning. I have never seen or heard anyone in the United States of America so persecuted by the news media and especially comedians in all of my 76 years. I am sure this hurts not only her, but her family to see her treated the way she has been treated since running for Vice President of our country. Personally I find her to be a very warm, loving person and one who loves her country. I can’t say that for many of our politicians and those in office for our country.

    • DixieConnie

Jerri: I agree with you. When asked a question, Obama gives an answer that I have a very difficult time understanding. When asked a question, Palin answers clear and precise. She will make a GREAT PRESIDENT. All of the liberals need to shut up and stop whinning. They are just scared to death of her. In God We Trust.

    • josh

Can’t take the heat get out of the kitchen?

And I am sure there are far more Bush/Cheney jokes than there are Palin jokes.

Oh come on people, on Palin’s NBC or ABC interview (whatever channel),

She tried to somehow equate herself as having foreign policy experience because of the geographic relationship Alaska has with Russia???

WTF is all I have to say.

  • Ron

It is amazing that there are people that are so ignorant that they will support obama, regardless of how irresponsible he has been with our future. Obama seems like a decent person, he is just not as bright as he appears. this is obvious by the way that he is placing our future in grave danger. These obama-ites will sing his praises even to their very own demise. In addition, these left wingnuts are hypocrates with severe double standard syndrome. To them it is ok to personally verbally attack someone as long as an individual has differing opinions. We all belong to the same race. (The human race) Left-wingers, stop your destruction, come and join the race.

    • Ezekiel

The challenge is not among us…the challenge is energy independence. I am accustomed to just about any retort or rebuttal…as I was on the ‘right’ for most of my voting life. Ms. Palin is a 50-year throw back to a day that I believe is never to come again in this nation. We are in the economic fight of our lives and McCain nor Palin didn’t discern that…Arguing donkeys versus elephants is water under the bridge…

      • debra

  • Bud Winnett

WOW!!!… Wish I was as smart as some of these bloggers THINK they are. Bush Didn’t bankrupt this country. However, the one in office seems to be trying really hard to do just that. As for Sarah Palin, it seems to me that she is doing what shethinks is best. I agree with her, How come it is OK to make snide remarks about her children, but Obama’s is strictly off limits? I doubt any of you would allow that, If you do, then shame on you.
Let’s see just how far Obama gets and let’s see what Sarah Palin does. None of us know eother of them personally so why do you need to bad mouth them.

    • Carolyn

Did anyone besides me connect the dots on this one? Okay, first, what exactly WAS Bin Laden’s purpose for destroying our buildings and people? FINANCIAL RUIN….and where are we right now??? FINANCIAL RUIN….and who helped get these mortgage loans into the hands of people who never had any intention of paying them back??? Democratic Congress, in particular Barney Frank (Elmer Fudd) and his “buddies”….And who is taking your hard earned money to give to the ones who don’t pay their mortgages??? Democratic Congress….

  • Ezekiel

I was a republican prior to the last presidential election. It was this lady that pushed me to the left, primarily because of reported unseemly hunting practices she supports in Alaska, and well before McCain selected her. By selecting her, the Republican Party was in essence thinking that most if not all members would look the other way on this issue…it was a big mistake in my opinion.

    I hope her replacement doesn’t follow suit…

    • Marylynn

You choose your candidates on their hunting issues stands???? Dear Lord, please UN-register yourself. Yours is the kind of leftist thinking that got us into this liberal, tree-hugging, money-spending mess!

      • Ezekiel

As I recall, it was a Wall-Street demolition derby of sorts that put us in the mess we are in, which was driven by greed, avarice, hedge funds, etc. But of course I did switch parties without the Lord’s consent and I believe he is in support of my move…

      • debra

When you say with out the Lords consent ..you mean Obama..right? By the way hows that working out for you? Got your increase in your welfare check yet? Check out how Barney Frank,Dodd, Reid and Pelosi hand a hand in fall of our finacial system.

    • Carolyn

So a hunting practice is more important than, say, rewarding bad financial behavior by bail-outs? I’ve got to try to wrap my head around this…In the world according to you, killing a moose from a helicopter is worse than pulling a living child from its’ home and sticking scissors in the back of its’ head…Killing a bear from a helicopter is worse than making this country look like a bunch of candy asses in the “world apology tour”…Salmon fishing from a kayak is worse than taking hard earned money out of your pocket and giving it to a professional couch potato.

Sorry, I can’t seem to add that one up….Is it time to flush the gene pool yet????

      • Ezekiel

I hope you’re not implying genocide…but of course that is what some psychologists theorize as a precursor to those hideous behaviors you describe, e.g., animal cruelty…

      • Carolyn

Speaking of genocide (which I was not…), your “messiah” has already said “under my health care plan” (I’m so sick of hearing that, I could vomit!), a person who has reached the age of 70 years old no longer needs life saving surgery because they’ve already lived a long life. If you want to look at genocide, look to your own messiah, cuz “his plan” is all about that. As far as “his plan” goes, not ONE THING he has touted as “his plan” is really his. If you know anything at all about history (and I doubt that since you know so little about slaughter houses and hunting), then you would know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is plagiarizing himself with every “my plan” he speaks. History tells us that many, many, MANY dictators from history have tried these things and failed before him. But what does one expect from someone who changes political affiliation based on something as stupid as a hunting practice…

    • keith

hunting practices? you eat commercial meat bub? ever seen a slaughter house? at least hunters of which i am one do it quick and we as the founders of this country actually know where our meat comes from and hunters have given more to save wetlands and the outdoors for the enjoyment of our future generations, you sit on your self rightious bum at home,go to the store and buy your meat in pre-packaged plastic wrapped containers, drive your ozone producing auto and have the imitigated gall to harp about hunters,HYPOCRITE,your kind when the collaspe comes will be looking to people like us to survive and i hope you come to me!

      • keith

and further more, you harp and harp about animal rights and would pass by a homeless person and not even give em the time of day, hypocrites all of you, whens the last time you took the time to actually give something to someone less fortunate than you? huh? all you can do is pick out something to harp on that has NOTHING to do with the welfare of this nation,go back to your villidge,i am sure they miss their idiot!

      • Ezekiel

Yes I have seen slaughter houses and no I am loathe to sit on any bum let alone a self-righteous one…unmitigated gall, collapse, ozone-producing auto…there seems to be a lot of misplaced rage there fella…no wonder you deign to shoot things that live…as far as being a founder, unless you use a flintlock and are several hundred years old, you like Ms. Palin might want to curtail the urge to eliminate critters.

      • keith

so,you still did’nt answer the questions bub,you eat supermarket meat? whens the last time you actually helped someone else out? i do have a flintlock and know how to shoot it.when have you did anything to help the enviroment? i give to several enviroment groups, what you do besides gripe? whens the last time you got off your ass and volunteered to help clean a highway or clean a waterway? huh???? WHAT SPECIFICALLY HAVE YOU DONE?
I BET NOT A DAMN THING. my family goes back to the war of independance and fought for this country.whens the last time you did anything. give specifics if you can…….

      • keith

just like you democrats to try and answer a question without actually answering it.all you can do is resort to slander and not straight up facts.figured i would’nt get a straight up answer from you.figures.i can prove what i am saying.go ahead lib,i am waiting for the answer or are you like the rest of your ilk full of foul smelling hot air? i’ll send you one of my e-mail addresses and SHOW you what i do.you people piss me off and disgust me!

    • Carl W

Oh, yes, Ezekiel, unseemly hunting practices. Yep, how terrible it is for men and women to go hunting with rifles to kill wild game for food. I sure hope you do not eat meat yourself since slaughterhouses have to kill animals in order for you to eat them. What is it about left wing nuts that they hate guns and hunting?

      • Ezekiel

Loss of habitat and increase in population worldwide. The slaughterhouse versus ‘pure’ hunting has been overplayed, Carl W, my friend. There are hen houses, dairy farms, soy bean fields and other grains. Having lived and served my country for seven years in a developing country (a/k/a 3rd world nation) in a fairly isolated part of the world, I learned to make due without a steady intake of protein. But alas, you are missing the point as did Ms. Palin. In those 7 years I worked with natives who subsisted on rice, flour, vegetables, eggs, milk and occasionally religious festivals when goats, sheep and water buffalo were beheaded. It is this people and others like them that are kicking our economic butts currently. They as well as many americans live in rural, urban or suburban areas. They are doing this without having to shoot wild animals and by living on low protein diets. As far as the thrill and dignity of the ‘hunt’ I have known too many hunters who admit wounding animals only to follow a blood trail to nowhere…lousy shots they were…amateurs playing frontiersmen. Tell me Carl W, if you can, if you have hunted is every first shot of yours lethal? Do you eat wolf, cougar, and polar bear meat to subsist?

It’s scary how unintelligent this woman is.
We really dodged a bullet when she and that adulterer from Arizona got beat so badly.

    • DixieConnie

She certainly can not be more unintelligent than the man you elected in Jan 09. At least she has a heart and soul. Can’t write that about the other one.

    • Franklin

What is “scary” is your statement. A bit of introspection may be called for.

      Consider:
Sarah Palin has had a 80 to 90 percent approval rating.
      Govenor for two years
She has passed an ehtics reform bill for Alaska while other states are still trying.
Stopped the “bridge to no where” that would of cost over 400 million dollars to tax payers.
In charge of the National Security of the largest pipeline transporting 25% of our nation’s oil.
In charge of one of 120 fed. funded Counter Terrorism units in Alaska.
In charge of Disaster 1 a unit that went to aid The World Trade Center.
Worked with union membership and took out “mob” union boss.
      Stopped pork spending
Created a surplus, got rid of a deficit and paid dollars back to her constituents.
Stood up against oil companies and won.

Pretty good for an “unintelligent” person. Do you think she can work with others in government?

      • josh

“Stopped the “bridge to no where” that would of cost over 400 million dollars to tax payers.”

She may have stopped the project, but she sure did not give the money, back, and she didnt stop the project until it was revealed as the waste of money that it is….

      • Franklin

        Josh,
        And your point is?

      • josh

The point is that claiming that as a accomplishment is like saying,

I stopped a bank robber, got the money he stole, and then did not give it back to bank.

Now I am not saying dems are any better, all politicians are crooks.

We need a 3rd party that is actually “for the people by the people”

    • keith

JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED FOR HOW YE JUDGE IT SHALL BE JUDGED UNTO YOU! thats all you democrats can be able to seem to do is heap insults and dig up fictitious dirt on people.your all a bunch of no good bony finger pointers who delight in flapping your gums together.i hope one of you faggot loving anti-american save the whales, constitution shredding morons get in my face and you’ll see what my response is.i’ve had enough of you peoples slanderish crap.your all like a bunch of braindead chawawahs, yap, yap, yap, yap! yall make me sick!

    • Robin, Arcadia, IN

David.. Are you on the right website? Sarah is a remarkable woman who I would put up against Obama any day! I believe her to be an honest, forthright woman who has more experience than Obama. I think she is capable of looking at the big picture, which I don’t think Obama is able to.

      • veronique

Robin you so right !!! she is a true heart American who’s love her country can anyone see that ?

    • steve

I am offended by your comments here. It seems to me you are negative against her just like media and others who have slandered her. Your comments here suggest you are also a heartless person with no discernment of what negativity is against a very good women who has a heart. I think if you want to be negative here than don’t take it out on her. She doesn’t deserve what you are trying to exploit here. Get a life man and get over it, life is too short being so dishearted.

  • David

Many talking heads are saying that Palin’s resignation has doomed her for future political office. I disagree. I do not pretend to know what motivated her resignation or what her plans for the future are, but this woman is smarter, stronger, and more honest than any politician that I have seen in a long while. If running for office is in her plans for the future, she will have my support.

    • keith

your forgetting she and her husband are in the orginization to make alaska a free state and avacate succession,ha,maybe this has to do with that,i hope so,if they are successful i’ll move there and you sorry s.o.b’s can have comrad obama and the rest of loons and worship allah all you want!
      DOWN WITH SOCIALISM!

      • Ray McDougal

Please feel free to move there now and become a traitor to our country with the other secessionists. Just don’t come back here once Obama gets things straightened out and you see Alaska become a hell-hole because of the lack of honest, intelligent leadership.

    • Betty Jo

Here, here David! I agree wholeheartedly. People are afraid of her and the decency and morals she stands for. As the saying goes, “they can’t stand the truth.” Because that would mean they would have to face reality, and admit the wrongs that they have done. We have too many people in Congress that should have retired a long time ago. They’ve got to be in their 80′s. I think some of them are borderline Alzheimers. They should mandate an age for retirement like other gov’t orgs. And as for our great President, I won’t even go there, because it would take me all night and it’s already 2:45 am. Sorry people, not a fan. Thanks for allowing me to sound off a little bit. But, the direction of our nation concerns me. If we don’t get somebody in their with some sense soon, I wonder what will happen to us.

    • debra

What motivated her is most likely money. Book deals, speaking tours..and so on. I think she is already tired of the serious game playing that takes evil thinking to play. I don`t blame her.DeBra

  • Bill

It seems to me that Sarah is paving the road for her replacement so that he can get early experience and run successfully for the 2010 election. She has her plans. Don’t worry.

  • Keith Poulter

Palin in 2012? Hardly. The voters, of course, can do quirky things. But we recently tried the experiment of putting a sub-literate, ignorant, moron in the White House and he inflicted the most incredible damage upon the country. We are hardly likely to try the same thing again for at least one hundred years. So sorry, Sarah, it’s not going to happen.

    • Nancie

It seems we have a sub-literate ignorant tele-prompter moron in the White House now! What American thinks there are 57 states? Or that an inhaler is a breathalyzer? He can’t complete a sentence without his teleprompter. Right President, Wrong Country!

      • James

It is not surprising that he made that mistake… Aren’t there 57 “ISLAMIC STATES”.

      • Nancie

Yes, so I hear – that’s why he bows to Saudi king

    • Robin, Arcadia, IN

You are so right about the voters Keith! I try very hard not to call Obama names, but you are right on with your post. I think we can only hope and pray that he doesn’t run for another term, or is defeated the next time around. Sarah is a complex woman, with a lot on her plate. We’ll just have to sit back and see what happens!

  • Mary

Interesting that Palin cited liberal attacks as her reasons for stepping down as governor of Alaska. If she can’t take those attacks now as governor, how in the world could she have managed being VP? Or consider even running in 2012 for Pres? If Obama shook in his shoes every time he was attacked by the bitter pubs/GOP, he’d have left by February of this year.

    • Nancie

Obama should have left in February – he and the spend spend spend Dems will bankrupt our country soon enough!

      • John

After 8 years of president Buss/Cheney our country is bankrupt.

      • Nancie

Can you not see that Obama has spent more in 6 months thant ALL presidents combined? You pay for it and keep the change

      • dell

Your an absolute idiot if you think Bush had anything to do with bankrupting this country. Your chief obama has spent more money than the last dozen republicans

      • Craig

John you’re a fool. Better check your facts. Nancie and Dell are correct.

      • Robin, Arcadia, IN

You can’t be serious? John, you are clueless and really need to try and keep up!

      • Paul Trood

Sorry but John is right. Bush’s military spending combined with a total lack of adequate oversight over the real estate markets sucked the U.S. dry. Obama is just accelerating the final spiral into the abyss.

      • Paul Trood

There is not very far to go before we will see the “AMERO” or it’s equivalent.

      • http://www.peronalliberty.com D. Bunker

I am sure that the trillion of dollars spent on studies, new government jobs, projects and on floating education for one more year will help the financial status of our country. Let’s see, we are over extended, so, lets spend trillions of dollars and see if that helps. Wow, what insight is that? It will end with a crash and the bartering system will go into effect because the dollar will be worth zero. Spending money you don’t have and blame it on the past is pretty poor. You are responsible for what you spend today and you can’t blame anyone else. Companies make jobs not government. Government takes from the people to exist. Government is suppose to enforce law and order. Let’s see what will be taken from you to give to someone who doesn’t have what you have? If that is the government you want, there are plenty of countries that fit the bill, moved there! Try Cuba for 10 years and come back and tell us what you think.

      • Ray McDougal

You are absolutely right! baby bush and his dick cheyney took us into the big black hole of unspeakable debt by selling our country out to big government contractors in these trumped-up, unnecessary and immoral wars that we were sold by his lackies in the media. Those who are posting complaints about Obama are ignorant of the cause of our problems — the depression caused by the former administration that Obama is trying to overcome. I’m not crazy about these stimulus programs, but sitting on our hands and letting our country totally go down the drain is not a good solution either. Spreading lies about Obama is the best the republicans can do? So sad.

The BIG lie that is repeated over and over until many people believe it is the lie of the “liberal media”. Taxes to help the people who need a leg-up is not the issue; this is practically non-existent compared to war debt. Debt and taxes on the middle class and poor to make the extremely wealthy even wealthier—at the expense of the middle class and the poor is immoral and repugnant. The truly wealthy can pull out their checkbooks and buy all the homes in our neighborhood when the prices plummet low enough.

That bush and company sold us this war with people believing we wouldn’t have to pay for it, at least eventually, shows how far from reality the media has drifted into conservativeland. Follow bush’s dream — a solving conflicts by stirring up trouble, picking unnecessary fights with every country on earth. Follow “the decider” right into hell.

If we had a liberal media we would not be in the deep economic situation that we have now, with lack of government regulations which allow people to be cheated over and over again, cheated into poverty with the lie that government is evil, that it controls people and should be destroyed. The conservative media, like FOX, unfortunately is able to dazzle the public with their faux news and fear-mongering “entertainment”, shouting and twisted logic, leading us farther down the the garden path to total destruction.

National debt? Taxes? Find someone to sue the idiots who took us from Clinton’s gigantic budget surplus to bush’s big bust of our country’s economy. Find a real solution, like suing FOR DAMAGES the perpetrators of the destruction we’re seeing, whether they be repulsivecans or democrits, those who profited from the destruction around us should be the ones losing their homes, not hard-working, honest Americans.

Some of us had hopes Obama would hold up to his promise of “open-government” and hold the people in the former administration, of whatever persuasion, responsible for their criminal actions that started with the fraudulent election of 2000, continued with the cover-up of 9-11, and culminated in the depression that could last indefinitely. Maybe he’s too busy cleaning up the mess to fight with the conservative media.

    • http://nocrud.com BobL

Yeah, right! And Obama said: “Hands Off!” where it came to his family/children. Using Obama in the same breath with Sarah Palin deserves a good mouth-washing.

If Sarah Palin’s speech is listened to in its entirety, analyzing her every comment, it becomes obvious why she is resigning. She gave several reasons. She did not like the attacks on her family, for one. However, she also mentioned how she had been attacked and sued and how, as governor, it cost the State of Alaska a bunch of money. She was not willing to go on with this. But, listening carefully to her no-teleprompter speech, other reasons were also given.

Giving the governship over to her lieutenant is good for the Republican Party, especially in Alaska. It will provide the experience necessary for him to make a winning run for the office, even more than at this time.

Notice how the Democrats and Liberals are whining about this or that reason Sarah Palin is resigning as they exercise their imaginations? Why do they do this? Many of them are looking for credit for it, so they can claim they forced it to take place. Now that she is effectively out, though, you’d think it would end. But, just like with ex-president Bush, they continue to hound her. This kind of low-life people would walk 40 miles through a blizzard to hold the end of a rope set up to hang a freshly dug-up Richard Nixon. Again, why? Because their hatred runs so deep that they cannot just turn it off. Perhaps this is their total intellect, the totality of their personalities and character…

Listen to the speech given to Sarah Palin again. And again, if you are yet undecided as to why she resigned. Write them down. She had many reasons to resign and gave them. As for whether some Letterman-type scoundrel caused her to resign, their wish is farthest from the fact.

it is also notable that she gave her public announcement on July 3, just before Independence Day. Now she is free. Sure, not until later in the month will it officially take place but she has now given the bait to the Liberals to show their deep hatred for decency and morality. She was/is a shining star for what is right about America and really saved the Republican Party in the last election from such a failure that recovery would be doubtful. She was looked up to as more than a mere pop-star. She was a model of what is right in America and cause Americans who supported her to feel this deep, traditional pride in being an American. None of this was apparent in the Democrat Party and is yet to be seen. This is just one more reason the Democrats and Liberals hate her so much.

      • Carolyn

Bob, I got it too. It was totally clear that the best interest of the state of Alaska was on her mind and since she is such a huge threat to the dems, they tie her and Alaska’s financial resources up to try and make her look bad…but once again, it didn’t work!

      • James

I lament that there is not a male equal to Palin in her heart and delivery of the truth about this country and the opponents ( enemies to Truth) we face. Actually there is one…Alan Keyes who pulls no punches and is right on the money about the entire fabric of this nation and the solutions that need to be imposed. Challenge to Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul to take off the gloves along with Alan Keyes and let Americans know the truth and that there is someone out there that cares and not let them down in this

The political double speak and media is turning the minds of some into mush which is exhibited by some of the on going dialogue I have read on this site. Good Lord, who gave us every animal and creation to subdue as FOOD, have mercy on those who are so confused and out of their right mind that hunting practices are comparable to the practices of murdering babies ( that’s baby in LATIN idiot). It’s not a choice that can be made once conception occurs …a fetus is a fetus ( That’s baby in LAtin you idiot).
The choice is 99% time a moral ( or lack of the same) choice. So the answer is conveniently murder. With the fact that it takes 2.1 children to continue to propagate a civilization or country, it begins to become evident that abortion is really a whole other issue than choice but a tool used by your enemy to “bury” you like they promised 59 years ago!!!!

      • Rod OH

Bob L, it is not the “liberals” who want to see her gone. It is any voter who is educated, stays “up to date” on current issues and current problems, who have common sense and who can recognize the fact when a candidate like her is “out of her league”. You evidently have never listened to one of her rambling, incoherent disorganized statements. I mean really listened. How any voter could feel comfortable with that, I have no idea.

      • MW

Rod OH, you apparently have not listened to your god Obama speak. Without a teleprompter he is nothing but “ums” and “ahs”. He can’t put a coherent thought together, because he has no thoughts in his head. He is just a puppet of George Soros. Most of his staff are taken from George Soros financed think tanks. His speeches are written by staff members that were originally hired by George Soros. If you don’t believe me, look at their resumes and look at who finances their last employment.

      • DixieConnie

MW: I totally agree with you about George Soros. I wish more people would pay attention to this. He is a very evil man and he is the one that has his hand up Obama shirt (pants?). Fortunately, he is about 78 yrs old and hopefully won’t live too much longer. Otherwise, he would be the owner of the US, if he is not already.

Rod, your effite drivel bears little resemblence to coherence. I have listened to every syllable Sarah Palin has public spoken whenever/wherever possible. Typical of a Liberal, though, you assume much more intelligence than is obvious shown by your opining about Sarah Palin. It is prima facie evidence of the fear that Liberals share for Sarah Palin. A down-to-earth, honest and decent woman is not something you feel comfortable with in your world. Get used to it! And, try to refrain from downing someone you know little-to-nothing about because it only reveals the depth of intellectual depravity that plagues you. It is laughable when a Liberal tries to prove his/her mental talent. And, it is also sad for the country to see that there are so many of them, falling over each others heels in the continual attempt to denegrate someone who is undoubtedly and obviously far, far above the level of decency inherent in those Liberals. But, it is also more and more revealing when they have nothing to say and say it anyway as if what they say really matters now or in eternity. An Arabic proverb says: He who knows not and knows not that he knows not is a fool — shun him! Hereby understand that you are shunned.

      • Ray McDougal

Decency and morality? Let’s see — Conservatives have Mark Sanford, John Ensign, and Newt Gingrich — hypocrits who tried to crucify Clinton for the very same things they have done. Dems are no angels, but they don’t portray themselves as models of decency. Watch some news station other than fox. Do some reading. There’s enough corruption on both sides of the fence. But the hypocrits deserve more scorn and the same treatment as was given Clinton.

Your “Arabic” quote is from the Bible. Book of Proverbs. Have you read that particular book?

Confucius said, “To know what you know, and to know what you don’t know, is the sign of someone who knows.” There’s so much that you don’t know, that you ignore (which is the meaning of ignorance) that you are missing out on the BIG picture here. READ and study what is happening fromplaces other than your conservative “news” entertainment and fear-mongering sources, and you could make a difference in the world with the enthusiasm and energy that you exhibit.

I will pray for you that you can overcome your prejudice and intolerance.

      • http://nocrud.com NoCrud

Ray (you may actually be Rod OH with another moniker…), you want to say “Conservatives have Mark Sanford, John Ensign, and Newt Gingrich — hypocrits who tried to crucify Clinton for the very same things they have done….” but fail to say which one of those men lied to the Supreme Court or gave our missile guidance/navegational system to the Chinese through the Dept of Agriculture system. (One Chinese military leader praised the system saying that if they had not been given that system, he doubted that they could have recovered their first man from space). But, even this lying rot you spew is not all you imply. Typical of a Lib, when you cannot win an argument, you then try to instill another argument as if this is just as important. People have your number and it’s not a very big number, at that.

The full “Arabic Quote” was on a pad from a technical school, in the printing department. The full quote is here:

He who knows not and knows not that he knows not is a fool — shun him!
He who knows and knows not that he knows is asleep — teach him!
He who knows not and knows he knows not is simple — teach him!
He who knows and knows that he knows is wise — follow him!

I know that Libs also either invent “scripture” or invent misguided ways of interpreting Scripture. I’m not sure which one you are but it does not matter. Many people quote the Bible and cannot produce the actual chapter and verse because they are quoting other ignorant geniuses, similar to the blind leading the blind.

As for my “Prejudice and Intolerance,” I really resent stupidity but there is one thing I resent even more: Intentional stupidity/ignorance.

There are people who need not be stupid and ignorant but they are too proud to admit it even to themselves. They will often come to a place where they become silent for a spell and then suddenly come out with some kind of new insight but it was presented to them earlier and their pride would not allow them to admit it. Only when they “discover” the truth of what others have been saying all along do they really turn their know-nothing attitudes around.

And then we see those who want to put others straight as if only their wisdom will do the trick. While I point out someone’s stupidity, those enlightened Confucius types come out with some form of new wisdom and do not even know that Confucius sat in a corner for some 40 years deep in thought as he sorted out his apparent confusion and then was called “Teacher” by those who actually knew so little that they did not recognize others with equal wisdom but were not followed around by idiots who needed a human god.

As for who was the wisest man who ever lived or who would ever live, the Bible says this man is King Solomon and this can be seen starting in First Kings 4:29 — if you care to read it…

Even the ancient Egyptians said of the Greeks that they were people who “thought like children” and guess what? Most Americans have the idea that the Greeks were the keenest minds of all. Count the number of Israelis who win the Nobel Prize each year and you begin to understand who is really wise. Could it be perhaps because they are descendents of the same people of King Solomon’s time? I’m not sure but it is apparent that they are not Globalists where it comes to Warming and I suspect they did not put themselves in for the Nobel Prize as did Al Gore.

Again, when someone comes off spewing some kind of stupidity, I will respond to this foolishness. It then becomes an astute move for someone who wants to quote ancient writings to try to get their stories straight or just keep reading.

May I suggest a few years reading people like Josephus, Velikovsky and some old writers at Princeton? That’s a good beginning, at least, before showing that what is needed in their remarks is to shun them.

And, by the way, your prayers are more needed for the country than for me. The country is in deep trouble. I am a Bible scholar and know how to pray and Who needs my attention when it comes to prayer. Thanks, though, for your high-sounding remark. It did make me smile. Once.

      • http://nocrud.com NoCrud

Oh, and by the way, Ray Mc — I do not have FOX and do not even watch TV. My time is spent in national and international communication and in my writing. Therefore, you can see why I smiled at your attempt to be the wise, all-knowing, insightful wizard here. Your imagination is much more developed than your inborn sense of mental control. Maybe you need to consider taking up fiction writing…

      • Roy McDougal

Thanks for clarifying with the full quote. I understand now that it is truly of Persian origin. I was thinking of a few others that reminded me of that quote, there are dozens like it in the book of Proverbs. There’s also an interesting one in Matthew that I keep in mind to keep my words gentle.

I have greater respect for you that you don’t feed on Fox, but I’m wondering if you are one of those Rushians who feed on his venom. I am sad that so many people love to hear insults and enjoy the “Jerry Springer” mentality as entertainment and as a source of their “news”.

Here are some of the quotes I had in mind. Sorry about the last one. I didn’t make it up.

Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge. Proverbs 14:7

Whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Matthew 5:22

The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness. Proverbs 15:14

Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words. Proverbs 23:9

A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him? Ecclesiastes 10:14

Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge. Proverbs 14:7

He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall. Proverbs 10:10

And I also agree that it is always good advice to pray for our country, and for those people who would destroy us by stifling good differences of opinion with their hatred, anger, and prejudice. It is through discussion and sharing of ideas that we grow and learn. Thank you.

    • veronique

Mary you are just like Nancy Polosi and the rest of Obama Admin …why don’t you keep the change , The Obama Admin affraid of her ..and you all should , and you must love the SOCIALISM , and you must not from this country so I sugest that you to go back where you come from . we will keep our FREEDOM and our Country .

I think Palin is a smart & strong woman. I think, & hope, she stepped down so she could let things cool down, & have time to start preparing to set up for the move to a “higher office”. I would vote for her no matter who she ran against.

      • Ray McDougal

It will need to get as cool as Alaska in winter for most people to look at Palin with anything more than amazement for her nerves of steel in light of her cluelessness and incompetence. She thrives on her looks and the politics of resentment, which are impervious to facts. Palinists regard their star as an icon of working-class America even though the Palins’ combined reported income ($211,000) puts them in the top 3.6 percent of American households. They see her as a champion of conservative fiscal principles even though she said yes to the Bridge to Nowhere and presided over a state that ranks No.1 in federal pork.

Nowhere is the power of resentment to trump reason more flagrantly illustrated than in the incessant complaint by Palin and her troops that she is victimized by a double standard in the “mainstream media.” In truth, the commentators at ABC, NBC and CNN — often the same ones who judged Michelle Obama a drag on her husband — all tried to outdo each other in praise for Palin when she emerged at the Republican convention 10 months ago. Even now, the so-called mainstream media can grade Palin on a curve: at MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” last week, Palin’s self-proclaimed representation of the “real America” was accepted as a given, as if white rural America actually still was the nation’s baseline.

The Palinists’ bogus beefs about double standards reached farcical proportions at Fox News on the sleepy pre-Fourth Friday afternoon when word of her abdication hit the East. The fill-in anchor demanded that his token Democratic stooge name another female politician who had suffered such “disgraceful attacks” as Palin. When the obvious answer arrived — Hillary Clinton — the Fox host angrily protested that Clinton had never been attacked in “a sexual way” or “about her children.”

Americans have short memories, but it’s hardly ancient history that conservative magazines portrayed Hillary Clinton as both a dominatrix cracking a whip and a broomstick-riding witch. Or that Rush Limbaugh held up a picture of Chelsea Clinton on television to identify the “White House dog.” Or that Palin’s running mate, John McCain, told a sexual joke linking Hillary and Chelsea and Janet Reno. Yet the same conservative commentariat that vilified both Clintons 24/7 now whines that Palin is receiving “the kind of mauling” that the media “always reserve for conservative Republicans.” So said The Wall Street Journal editorial page last week. You’d never guess that The Journal had published six innuendo-laden books on real and imagined Clinton scandals, or that the Clintons had been a leading target of both Letterman and Leno monologues, not to mention many liberal editorial pages (including that of The Times), for much of a decade.

Those Republicans who have not drunk the Palin Kool-Aid are apocalyptic for good reason. She could well be their last presidential candidate standing. Such would-be competitors as Mark Sanford, John Ensign and Newt Gingrich are too carnally compromised for the un-Clinton party. Mike Huckabee is Palin-lite. Tim Pawlenty, Bobby Jindal — really? That leaves the charisma-challenged Mitt Romney, precisely the kind of card-carrying Ivy League elitist Palinists loathe, no matter how hard he tries to cosmetically alter his history as a socially liberal fat-cat banker. Palin would crush him like a bug. She has the Teflon-coated stature among Republicans that Romney can only fantasize about. Romney is someone who could command respect and be a candidate that could make a difference. But glam-girl gets tapped by McCain, and the repubs will have a hard time recovering from this disaster.

Mary..she and her children were attacked. No other political figure has had the children attacked. As a woman I am so ashamed at how we “ladies” have treated her. Even women lib groups have not stood up for her. We have become so catty. She has been critiqed for her hair, glasses, clothes and so on. Just stupid stuff that makes us women look like jealous bitches. Sarah Palin is down to earth, smart, she connects with people, she has common sense. Men are threatoned by her and women are jealous of her!! She may be our saving grace one day. DeBra

      • Ray McDougal

SMART? So is Homer Simpson. Would you want him to be your president?

      • debra

Like I said Ray..stupid stuff..you made yourself look stupid too. Come on..Homer?? Was that your best shot? DeBra

      • Ray McDougal

Let’s imagine for one moment that it was Obama’s teenage unmarried daughter who was pregnant. Got that? There would have been a media circus like never before; he would have not had a snowball’s chance in hell. Yet Palin got a free ride, and even was praised by the media because the girl chose not to have an abortion. What an amazing spin — anything can be twisted to bring an advantage if you have the press behind you, like Palin did.

If you like Palin, you must love Simpson. Actually I would prefer Homer Simpson, since he is not driven by greed and power. But you can listen to her and fantasize her great photo shots as president, but don’t ignore the horror that was brought to this country, this world, in just eight short years by a man just as greedy, ignorant, and power-hungry as Palin, “the decider.”

In eight years, he and his republican friends in the Congress and Supreme Court took a huge budget surplus and brought us into a debt deeper than our country has ever seen, not to mention the depression and the wars that he created to cover his incompetence at preventing 9-11. He was in office for eight months, ignored the advice of Clinton’s people, and allowed 9-11 to happen, even though he may not have done that willingly. He got a free ride in the press — was even glorified and brought up his ratings.

People love Homer Simpson and his down-to-earth moron types. That’s why this country is suffering. God forbid we get some smart, wonkie type like Romney, Gore, or Kerry. They would bore you to death finding solutions rather that entertaining you with disaster.

      • Ray McDougal

The incessant complaint by Palin and her troops that she is victimized by a double standard in the “mainstream media” is as ridiculous as a Simpsons episode. In truth, the commentators at ABC, NBC and CNN — often the same ones who judged Michelle Obama a drag on her husband — all tried to outdo each other in praise for Palin when she emerged at the Republican convention 10 months ago. Even now, the so-called mainstream media can grade Palin on a curve: at MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” last week, Palin’s self-proclaimed representation of the “real America” was accepted as a given, as if white rural America actually still was the nation’s baseline.

The Palinists’ bogus beefs about double standards reached farcical proportions at Fox News when word of her abdication hit the East.

Again, Genius-Lite, you got it all wrong but it’s the Lib reading. The “spin” was not that “the girl chose not to have an abortion,” it was that the media was continuing their attitude of hating the fact that Sarah Palin did not abort her own baby with Down’s Syndrome. Anyone who is not an avid follower of Abortion as a liberated woman’s option in today’s world really threatens their world. They prepared the groundwork for this tidying up of their mispent lives and here comes Sarah Palin’s daughter and she did not have an abortion. Do you think it would matter if she was not the daughter of Sarah Palin? But, go ahead and distort the facts. Bring in Obama in his faultless rationale of saying that if it happened to his daughter he would not want her saddled with such a mistake and sure! — Obama will excuse that because it furthers his agenda of Abortion on Demand being an everyday option.

You Libs amaze me. Again, though, it sure seems that there is some kind of anonymity in here where someone comes in and comments under various names to make it look like several people with the narrow-minded Liberal mindset while it’s only one or two. What a laugh…

      • Kathy

        Debra
I totally agree with you. America and the women of our world are jealous of her because she has it all, looks, brains, a body and a mother who chose life instead of like Our Lord and Savior Obama who supports killing babies born alive.

  • Okfoz

All I have to say is I hope she sues the crap out of these people that have sued her over frivelous things… As governor I think she has no such recourse while she is in office, now that she is out she may have a case to go and sue the crap out of them. I am still pulling for her in 2012.

    John

    • V. Scott

      I hope your righ John!
Why take anymore hits from the media, self interest groups and the attorney fees. Alaska has income, her jobs done!! I am all for her taking a break, take off the gloves, she can regroup with the family. I hope she has good people who will encorage and protect her from sabatoge. This country seems to be so confused.
Another issue, she running upstream in a “Man’s World”.
How many women would it take to win the Presidentual election?

      • lena

it would take 1 woman to win the Presidentual election, and that one woman is Sarah Palin. (if you can’t tell, i am a supporter for Sarah) the thing is yes, she has a hugh up hill battle especially with the GOP because they see her as a threat, plus the fact that they already (even though they are not making it clear to us who) have in mind whom they want to run in the next Prez. election. Sarah is becoming very well known through out the world and that scares them, so they need to discredit her, both the GOP and Dems. the one question that i have, and maybe i have been missing it, where are the other women in the GOP speaking out and supporting Sarah? the Senators and Congresswomen. you would have thought we would have seen them out there more helping her with all of this negative press. so disapointed in them and the GOP! and not just because of the way they are treating Sarah but how they got away from the values that they stand for that i stand for.
what ever Sarah Palin decides to do for the future, i will support her decision.

      • sam

You are a moron. You are what is wrong with our country. Please be a patriot and support our ELECTED OFFICIALS. Sarah quitter Palin is a loser and an idiot. Get over it.

      • Bob

I still blame the arrigont, illete republican establishment foor ALL the mess we are in. THEY put an imbisal like mccail as the nominee . The only reason that idiot got as many votes as he did is because of Palin. As a popular talkshow host said both partys are only in it for there own power and scrw\ew the people,

      • Charlie

Bob, you seem angry. Perhaps 5 minutes or so of deep breathing & a cup of warm milk may help. And no, I am not being sarcastic. Bottom line – BOTH sides are to blame for our mess. Too few of our elected representatives in Washington, DC are behaving as true representatives. Please don’t jump on the anti-Bush bandwagon that seems to be so popular today.

Sarah Palin is a woman who truly cares for the future of our republic. McCain does, too, but his idealism is a little off the path our founders intended. We simply need to return to our roots as a nation, dispense with labels such as “liberal” & “conservative” and all just do what’s worked before. We don’t need to, as Mr. B. Hussein Obama said, “re-create America”. That’s pure hogwash.

Lastly – our Constitution reads, “We the people…” To the “elite” in DC, it says, “You the sheeple”….. I’m so sick of being told what Americans want by people who couldn’t care less about the future of our country as long as they get their payoff. I’m so sick of that!

      • lena

        well here is a question for you all;

some people are saying that Gov. Palin is finished politicaly (ie: her own party)because she quit way before her term was up and now she will be known as a quitter, what say you, do you think that she is politically washed up?

my own personal opinion is no. i think that she is taking a pause and weighing out her options for 2012 (i hope).

      • Lin

        Bob,
I cannot take anything you wrote as intelligent thoughts, because you don’t know how to spell. Just your basic observation.

      • sam

        You too are a moron.

      • Ray McDougal

Sara Palin, what an amazing thing that has happened to the republicans… ignorance rules so that the true elite — the wealthy, the REALLY wealthy, can manipulate the rest of us…

For those of you who support her, ask yourself WHY? Does she know or do anything that would help our country? Or do you think perhaps it is because it would be cute to have a good-looking woman in the White House?

We had a total ignoramous in power for EIGHT long years, and where are we now? Total destruction of our economy and environment, unstoppable war, and bad relations with most every country on earth.

BUT WAIT! The wealthy have become wealthier, people are more easily manipulated, and stupidity rules. That’s the way we want it, right?

      • Bob

I am not irate at Bush I am very irate at the likes of Trent Lott, Who spent more time badmouthing Rush Limbaugh that Obama , Or Arlen Specter but at least he finally showed his REAL collars. It is these arrigont-ignorent RINO’S and those like them that should be driven out of office

    • Truga

Palin beat Frank Murkowski for governor. Now she can beat the daughter for AK senator next year. She will have plenty of time to prepare for being on the ROP ticket in 2012. Afterall, Obama spent his last 2 yrs as US senator (and getting paid!) doing his campaign. Obama’s health care plan is naive, hypocritical, and dishonest; it will not help control medical costs. It’s just another attempt for him to get government control over the major industries (banking, auto, energy, healthcare, etc.). Obama is the most hostile US president to Israel. He received the Jewish democratic vote the first time but he’ll never get it the next time. He is going to be a one term president only!

      • veronique

AMEN for that ..he think he can be president like the third world country he better think again !! he is ANTIAMERICAN

      • Kathy

Until he proves he was born in America and produces his birth certificate, I don’t consider him our president. He does not love America, he just wants to take the money of the hard workers of the world and spread it to the people who don’t care about working.

    • Morris Monkus

If it is determined that a lawsuit is frivolous, why in the world don’t we make the person that brought the suit pay for all court cost, attorney’s fees, and a healthy fine for wasting the courts time?

      • Monika

Almost every state has those laws, but nobody enforces them – it takes money to sue for money. besides, attorney do not want to punish other attorneys.

      • Mike D.

Morris Monkus, I agree with you 100%. That would slow down the lawsuits if not stop them altogether. Maybe we should put that on the next ballot.

      • Chris

To make it short, that piece of legislation has been introduced time and time again. But since the majority of our legislators are lawyers and that would bring an abrupt halt to lawsuits from which lawyers are paid, the lawyers union, who give so much to the campaigns of our hard working honest representatives, have successfully intervened in persuading our officials that making the loser pay to prevent dishonest lawsuits, (and stifling attorneys fees) would not be fair and not be in the best interest of the American people. And thus, we have dishonest representatives continue to take what amounts to bribes to get reelected to office. Does this represent you or I?

      • Mike D.

I posted something at the end of this page that may pertain to that.

      • Judy

I agree 100% Sometimes our legal system is not fair.
I also do not understand the Supreme Court refusing to hear the suit against Obama on the birth certificate. I believe he is a fraud and a liar and not eligible for be the president, but where do we go if the Supreme court will not do what is right for “We the People”
Join the TEA Party Patriots !!

      • Ray McDougal

WHERE were the tea party people when baby bush and his dick cheyney took us into the big black hole of unspeakable debt? By selling our country out to big government contractors in these trumped-up, unnecessary and immoral wars that we were sold by his lackies in the media they are ignoring the cause of our problems. The BIG lie that is repeated over and over until many people believe it is the lie of the “liberal media”. Taxes to help the people who need a leg-up is not the issue; this is practically non-existent compared to war debt. Debt and taxes to make the extremely wealthy even wealthier—at the expense of the middle class and the poor is immoral and repugnant.

That he sold us this war with people believing we wouldn’t have to pay for it, at least eventually, shows how far from reality the media has drifted into conservativeland. Follow bush’s dream — a solving conflicts by stirring up trouble, picking unnecessary fights with every country on earth. Follow “the decider” right into hell.

If we had a liberal media we would not be in the deep economic situation that we have now, with lack of government regulations which allow people to be cheated into poverty with the lie that government is evil, that it controls people and should be destroyed. The conservative media, like FOX, unfortunately is able to dazzle the public with their faux news and “entertainment” shouting and twisted logic, leading us farther down the the garden path to total destruction.

Tea party people, get with it, find someone to sue the idiots who took us from Clinton’s gigantic budget surplus to bush’s big bust of our country’s economy. Find a real solution, like suing FOR DAMAGES the perpetrators of the destruction we’re seeing, whether they be repulsivecans or democrits, those who profited from the destruction around us should be the ones losing their homes, not hard-working, honest Americans.

    • MW

Sarah Palin is a victim of smear politics. The liberal blogs and Democratic operatives have been using their usual techniques on her. She outsmarted them by taking away their leverage. She is now free to travel the country, giving speeches and appearing on television. She can now speak freely and openly, as she does best.

      • Ray McDougal

You are playing the politics of resentment. The politics of resentment are impervious to facts.

Too bad for Romney, he’s smart, and altho he’d be a good President, there’s not much hope for him to get nominated.

    • ROCKY FW LEMAR

I HOPE SHE DOES SUE & WINS!!
BUT, THERE IS A GREATER PROBLEM. IF THE GOP CAN NOT COME UP WIHTH A STONG LEADER SOON, IT STANDS TO LOSE IN 2012 TO A 3RD PARTY. NOT THE DEMOCRATS, BUT THE CONSTITUTION PARTY WHICH IS GAINING GROUND ON ALL SIDES FROM BOTH THE GOP & DEMOCRATS SINCE THE CONSTITUTION & AMERICA’S FREEDOMS ARE THE MAIN CONCERNS!!
THEY HAVE MY VOTE ALREADY, MAYBE!!!

    • Ray McDougal

Let’s hope that she falls out of sight so that the Republican party can get someone viable, someone with intelligence and compassion who is a real human being, not just some pitbull with lipstick. McCain had a chance to win until he sold out to the media to pull in this piece of eye candy.

It will take one woman with intelligence, charm, compassion and solid experience like Mrs. Clinton or Ms. Dole to become president, but it will take many other likewise women and men to support her to make it happen.

We need to have at LEAST a two-party system to make our democracy work. As an independent, I will vote for president any woman who will show the intelligence, compassion, and solid experience needed to lead our country. Most men SO FAR have been lacking in moral values that shows them to be hypocrits. But if we give Obama time and support, maybe he will be the leader we need. McCain had his chance, and he chose a pitbull with lipstick? Too bad for him.
