Tax Payments for Them and the Rest of Us

March 9, 2009 by

Tax Payments for Them and the Rest of Us

“It’s important for this administration to send a message that there aren’t two sets of rules—you know, one for prominent people and one for ordinary folks who have to pay their taxes.”

That was President Barack Obama’s spin after the third of his cabinet nominees was found to have failed to pay federal taxes until just before he was nominated. Don’t be fooled by the smooth tongue of the man many have begun to mockingly call “The One.”

What this shows is that those in power know something most Americans don’t: that there is no law requiring Americans to pay income taxes. And there is indeed a set of rules for the elites and one for “ordinary folks.”

So Timothy Geithner, Tom Daschle and Nancy Killefer didn’t pay until their nominations became inevitable. And then they only did so to head off a public relations nightmare. Still, the issue torpedoed the nominations of Daschle and Killefer. But Geithner was confirmed by the Senate as Treasury Secretary, which means he’s the head of the IRS.

Geithner, when caught up to his elbows in the cookie jar, blamed tax software for his problem. But that argument is specious coming from someone supposedly as smart as he is.

This is what they know: In truth, there is no provision in the IRS code imposing an income tax on monies received by citizens, and residents are not required to file form 1040.

The so-called income tax is a cover operation for the regulation of the regime of paper money.

Paper money must be regulated (reduced) or it will sooner than later become worthless. Should the American people discover that the income tax is only a system of regulation, not taxation, they would understand the fraud. The paper money scam must be concealed.

The people must never find out that the government gets everything that it gets for nothing and without payment, including wars.

Rarely has any lawyer ever spoken out against this system of harassment and wealth extraction. This theft through deception of trillions of “dollars” of wealth from the American people is greater than that stolen from any nation at any time in the history of the world.

Any time a lawyer speaks out against the system he is speaking out against the thing that gives him his professional existence. All lawyers are “officers of the court” and are entrapped in their own deception. Anyone who is licensed by the system, the system owns.

Now there are tens of thousands of very intelligent and highly educated Americans who silently consent to this criminal payola without even a thought of rebellion. This has been going on for 100 years.

Mark is correct about the gospel, however when the government turns to tyranny then check what else God said.

The FEDERAL RESERVE and INCOME TAX came into being around 1913 and wasn’t fully ratified by a 2/3rd’s majority. We have all been screwed since then. Our Money was originaly supposed to be controlled by the TRESURY DEPT. and CONGRESS.The FEDERAL RESEVE is a Private Bank.Otherwise We would have interest free money.SUCKS HUH?One of the resons the REVOLUTIONARY WAR was fought was because of a centeral bank. The Bank of England Taxed the Money the Colonist were using. So Why aren’t We Rioting in the Streets?

First of all after reading some of these post, I would like to say watch, Freedom to Fascism. You hear it right from the horse’s mouth about the privately owned Federal Reserve. Congressmen and the head of the Federal Reserve who wrote the tax code. Paying federal income tax is VOLUNTARY not mandatory. However the ex head of the fed says that mandatory and voluntary are the same thing.
The reason why people are convicted in court of not paying income tax is the lower courts will not allow Supreme Court decisions into court.
If all courts are supposed to be in line with the Supreme Court rulings, then how can this happen. It is up to the jury to know the law and act accordingly, even over turning a judges or anyone else’s decision. The constriction gives us more power than the president or any other member of the government, most people do not realize this.
As far as the case of AL Capone, I believe he was convicted because he ran a business and was convicted of not paying income tax on it.
That is perfectly constitutional and legal; businesses are required to pay federal income tax. Individuals are not. Research it. I urge everyone to watch Aaron Russo’s Freedom To Fascism. Another excellent source of information about the fed is book by Edward Griffin The Creature From Jekyll Island you can find this book and the video on his website http://www.freedom-force.org it’s under the Reality Zone section.
About rendering unto Czar what is Czar’s, it never was his.
What did Jesus do in the moneychanger’s temple; he didn’t give them a bailout that’s for sure
These are the same people who orchestrated this current economic crisis, their push for a one-world government, a one world monetary system, so they can control it.
Don’t listen to me do your own research. See for yourself

First and foremost, you need to understand that we are no longer under the old laws but under commercial law. The UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) is the law of the land now, and all courts are commercial courts. This has been so since the United States declared bankruptsy (in the 30s I believe). That declaration of bankruptsy has never been rescinded, so we as a country are still in default to our creditors (foreign banks mostly). However, the UCC has a remedy. UCC 203 and UCC 207 allow citizens to reserve their rights (under Common Law). In essense, UCC 207 allows you to to reserve your rights not to be compelled to perform in a contract or a commercial agreement that you did not enter knowingly, admittedly, or intentionally, and that you do not accept the liability of the compelled benefit of any unrevealed contract or commercial agreement. This is the only out we have, and we have to be careful when going about it. You have to sign (or stamp) every signature you give with the words “Without Prejudice UCC 207″, or “All Rights Reserved UCC 207″. This shows that you reserve your rights under UCC 207. Failure to do this gives implied consent that you agree to abide by all the terms of the contract and accept unconditionally all the implied benefits. This is where the Social Security number comes in. The second you accept a SSN, without reserving your rights, you agree to abide by all the hidden requirements that go with a SSN (like paying taxes). Of course, failure to obtain, or by act, rescinding your SSN, can make life tough. You can still work, but you can’t get a bank account, or a credit card, most likely a driver’s license. You become a non-person so to speak. And what good is it if you can draw a paycheck, but can’t cash it. I know I have oversimplified this, but just Google Uniform Commercial Code, as well as UCC 207, and you will find a plethora of info on this subject.

Someone once published a book called: “The Law That Never Was”
Can’t remember the author but was about this fraud (IRS).

It will soon be in God’s hands.

For those Christians who read the Bible. Render unto Ceaser what is Ceaser’s. The first question we should ask is what is Ceasers? Does it not all belong to God? The nextthing we as Christians should ask ourselves is who or what is te ruler in Amrica? Is it the president or congress? Is it the people? What is the highest law of the land? I say it is the people who are the rulers and the Constitution is the highest law of the land. If the president and congress extort money from you it is no different than a thief with a gun extorting money from you. Resisting such extorton is not against God’s Word. Read deeper and understand how our country was formed and try to understand we a country ruled by laws and those are the laws God instituted for America. Presently we have criminals running our lives. We mus resist. God says to resit evil!

  • Norm

those tax dollars you pay go to the Federal Reserve for interest on the fed notes they give you , they are bankers not part of the government , there is never an audit of the fed and there is no real govt control
    the constitution says
congress shall have the right to-
    To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

    To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States;

    the fed notes are unconstitutional!
we don’t need a central bank
we have not always had one
the federal reserve is the third try and just as bad as the first two

  • Ralph Mcc

So just are we the people to do ?? as they say you can run but you can’t hide
Really what is the average middle income couple to do ?? ( anyone )

  • California Good Bye

They come, they go and who remembers their names after their terms. They get their benefits of retirement and medical. We vote in November, we paid our taxes in April. Will we remember their names, no. It just goes on and on and not any of us has the nerve to stop it. It is a shame, that Rome lasted longer then the United States.

  • Earl

It is voluntary. Where people get into trouble is that they enter into invisable contracts and subject themselves to the IRS code vountarily. Don’t give your S.S.# when getting I job. It’s not required by law. They will tell you it is and it won’t be easy but if you do your homework you will find that a S.S.# is not required by law for a job, a bank account or any other thing that you are doing when asked for it. If you can first get an acceptance leter first from a prospective employer to show they did find you qualified for the job. If they then refuse to hire for refusing a S.S.# you can get them on privacy act and other issues. Once you give the S.S.# you are now visable to the IRS. If you don’t give the S.S.# they can’t see you or your income. There is a lot more going on with other remedies but remember this one thing and you will never hear from the IRS again.

    • Marjorie

There’s one little flaw with your plan. If the employer doesn’t withhold the taxes because he doesn’t have a SS# to reference it to, when he files his 941, guess who gets to pay the taxes that should have been deducted. Bingo! Maybe the employer could sue YOU for damages.

  • Grover

I have a personal friend who objected to paying income tax. The IRS hounded him and broke him financially. They attached his pay beyond what they are legally allowed and when he presented proof of the voluntary nature of the income tax to corporate attorneys they replied: “We are convincd but are not about to go against the IRS”. I for one am afraid to oppose them.

  • Scott

There’s a lot of discussion about whether or not the Internal Revenue Code is legal or not, applicable or not, ratified or not, and on and on. The “code” is absolutely perfect, as written IF it is applied properly. The next time you are having a chat with your accountant or attorney (people who are supposed to be soooooo knowledgeable about such things) ask him / her how section 83 of the IRC applies to your gross income….just my 2 cents worth.

  • Larry A. Hollis

We should know, after all these years those bumbs in Washington and States Goverments, and City are in this thing for themselfs and not us, the Peasants! When a Lawyer or Judge which is a Lawyer or Others is sent to any form of Goverment, that suppose to serve the Peasants! He is in it for himself and all the backdoor money he can get when he gets there; through the lobbyists!! We the people should demand a term limit on all offices held by these bumbs. It is sad to see a politician who makes it to a seat; in any form of Goverment, that goes into this office as a middle, lower income or a millonare; parts this office as a multi, multi millionaire!!!! This tells me he isn’t nothing but a crock; which in the two justice system, the rich has their justice system, and the poor has another system. Who rules the Justice System? The crocked Lawyers and Judges, this is why we see these little slaps on the wrist, when their buddies get caught-up in their thieving scams! Let a poor Peasant’s get caught taking a loaf of bread from a rich man and see how many years he gets in prison!! We should make a Law that it will be a Hanging Offense for any Politican that is caught taking bribes, money or any gifts from any one while in office, and from these dirty lobbyist!!! Hang a few of them on Main Streets, and we will strighten out our Goverment

    • Jim

Well, let’s see … stealing bread from someone ( rich or poor ) is a misdemeanor,
probably about a $100 fine and/or 3 days in jail. Regardless of what crime is committed, it all comes down to how good the defendant’s lawyer is, as to how much of a fine and/or jail time he or she will serve. Everyone is subject to the same justice system regardless of whether they are rich or poor. If you are having financial problems ( like most Americans are ), the following may help:

Wants vs Needs I learned this concept from an auto dealer who is a multi-millionaire. People tend to buy what they want, instead of what they need.
For instance, I want a $100,000 sports car. I need a car to get to work. So I drive a car worht about $1000. If I have the $100,000 in the bank, I still get to keep $99,000. If I don’t then I avoid spending money that I don’t have and don’t want to borrow.
Coupons. This is huge. there are three ways to pay for anything that you buy.

      (1) Cash ( Bad Idea, think Arnold Swarzenegger )
      (2) Credit Card ( Very Bad Idea , most are at 29.9%. They were locking up criminals 30 years ago for charging that much interest )
      (3) Use coupons wheneevr possible. That way you use less of your hard-earned money to buy whatever you want to buy.

Full Price. Full Price should really be called Fool Price. Why pay the full price if you can get a discounted price, either by using Coupons or by watching for sales? if it’s discounted over 50%, I’ll buy it whether i need it or not. And I avoid buying anything that I will never use.

There are over 2,000 commericals per day on TV telling you how to spend your money. Not one that tells you to save your money.

Hope this helps. By the way, I probably made less money than you did last year.

  • john

We know for a fact that all elected officials are “honest”. A shining example is the late Senator Paul Welstone, son of poor Russian immigrants. college professor at a private liberal college who died in a plane crash leaving an estate of twelve million dollars after serving just over one term in the US senate. America, land of opportunity!

    • Jim

Well sure, but what did he do before he was elected? How long did it take him to acquire his wealth? If he became wealthy illegally, wouldn’t he have been prosecuted? In the age of the Internet, everything that Senators do is under scrutiny from the public as well as certain branches of government. While there are many examples of American politicians in the past who have lined their pockets, I doubt it could happen today.

      • Anna in Kentucky

Jim, you amaze me. You don’t have a clue. They do whatever they want and only tell us what they want us to know. The sad part is that WE let them.

      • Jim

Well as a matter of fact I do have a clue. I have relatives in state gov’t in PA and they are not corrupt – in fact they are some of the most honest people I’ve ever met in my life. Maybe you have corrupt politicians in your part of the USA, but here in PA if a politician is a crook the media is all over it. A local case is Mike Veon. He has been charged with over 160 counts from his term as a PA representative. So here in PA we don’t let them get away with it. One last thought: if you don’t like the system, why don’t you run for office and change it?

  • http://personallibertydigest andy

good idea but if i rember when my grandson was born 6yrs ago i believe he came home with the forms filled out at the hospital.
maybe we need to go back to midwifes …when and where does it stop?
if lawyers are involved then really where do we go?
they can’t even get the courts to force a birthcertifcate for obama..
we all know there is something with this picture but we can’t change it..

  • http://babesfibergarden.com Nels Wiberg

**Maybe we need to tell our children never to get a social security card but start their retirement plan by having whoever they work for put a certain percent into a special fund. Then never pay income tax or have income tax deducted from their paycheck.
From March 8th Corral Ridge TV program they had a saying something like this. Look upon the Federal Government as a watch dog you feed and not as a cow to feed you.
Socialism is legal plundering wake up citizens.

  • Aman

Actually to clarify this, it is unconstitutional to tax’s one labor. Google a video called America. Freedom to Facism, directed professionally by Aron Russo. This will most certainly educate you …as well as alarm you. Also, google the name Joe Bannister. He was a former IRS agent who’s job was to go anywhere in the country and in the middle of night with the element of surprise put a gun to people’s head who didn’t pay their taxes. A christian from a good family, Bannister wasn’t quite sure that what he did for the IRS was in essence legal. After wrestling with his conscience and many hours of lost sleep, and upon the insistance by his wife, he asked his supervisor if what he was order to do was legal? Shorly after, he was asked to resign. Bannister, also a CPA, exclaimed that indeed the income tax i.e. tax on one’s labor is illegal. He, as a result didn’t report his income tax. After many years of court and near bankruptcy he finally prevailed. I’ll let Bannister tell the rest! Friends, download that America. Freedom to Facism now! Invite friends over and watch it together it’s about two hours long and you WILL find some if not most of the contents disturbing.

    Best Wishes
    Aman

    • Jim

America will never be a fascist country. Poeple who speak so lightly of fascism should consider what it was like to live in Germany under Hitler, or Italy under Mussolini. Fascism in America? Why do you think people from every nation on earth come to the U.S. ? They are fleeing the kind of tyrrany that the founding fathers of the U.S. fought against. Things like Taxation without representation, the right to a speedy and fair trial, the right to face your accusers, not to mention the right to vote and basic human rights, which many governments today see fit to deny to their citizens. I am so tired of foreigners who badmouth the United States, while living here and reaping the rewards of the best form of government this world has ever seen. All I can say is, if you don’t like the U.S. then leave. The sooner the better.

      • Paul Trood

You live in fantasy land. If you think your form of government is the best the world has ever seen you are either a total fool or have never studied foreign government structures. Your form of government is flawed at nearly every level. It thrives on corruption, distortion, disinformation, and secrecy, it is a farce. Love your country, despise your governments. JFK was your last REAL president all since are just puppets.

      • Jim

I am not a fool, and I have studied government, having voted in every U.S. election from 1972 onward. Yes, there is occasional corruption in U.S. government. Show me a government on Earth that does not have this problem. Since the election of Ronald Reagan ( the great communicator ) in 1980, it has been important for a Presidential candidate to communicate effectively on TV and radio. And it is expensive to run for President, especially in the last 3 elections. You may wonder why I thnk the U.S. has the best form of government the world has ever seen. The best way i can explain it is this: I can think anything I want, earn all I want, and ridicule any politician I want – in short i can do anything i want as long as it does notinterfere with the rights of others, and I will not be put in jail or executed for my beliefs, whether they are of a political, religious, scientific, or any other nature. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave. You sound like an Australian.
You speak like the SUBJECT of a KING, not the citizen of a republic.
The Australian system is in some ways better than the U.S. system, in medicine for instance. But no American will ever be subject to a King or Queen. When our leaders do not perform, we can vote them out of office.

      • crocus009

Why do you say that JFK was our last REAL president? What did he do to deserve that title? Had he lived longer he might not have ended up as ‘revered’.

      • crocus009

Sorry Jim. That reply was meant to be for Paul Trood …just above your comment.

      • Paul Trood

JFK for all his personal faults, eg. womanizing was a great president. Due to his illnesses he truely realized the fragility of life and this gave him a different perspective on the position of commander and chief. He was the last president that stood up to the M.I.C. indicated by his desire to end the war in Vietnam and therefor denying them the continued profits they sort so badly. He stood up to his own intelligence agencies when he quite clearly understood he was being fed distorted intel for the sole benefit of such agencies. He even sacked a Joint Chief of Staff over a corrupt proposal in regards to Cuba “operation northwoods” which was a false flag op to give reason to attack Cuba. He was openly against the BIG banks controlling the financial structure and direction of monetary policy in the U.S.
These are the reasons he was murdered. Nothing to do with the mafia, the unions and all to do the negative financial affects he was having, or was to have on the banking elite, the super wealthy at the top of the M.I.C. and those in the C.I.A./F.B.I./N.S.A. that also stood to lose out from a passive foreign policy.
Since then all presidents to varying degrees have been puppets of the above.

      • Paul Trood

Flaws in your statement. 1) You make references to regimes that were in power over 50 years ago, not current. 2) Many people fleeing tyrannical regimes do not only go to the U.S. they also go to Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. 3) Your Federal tax laws are a violation of the Constitution 4) The Patriot act has destroyed the once cherished freedoms of the American people 5) Your system of Medicare is pathetic, see Australia’s system to see just how bad yours is. 5) Your financial system based on a Private bank “FED” running the monetary system is beyond a joke having created the worst financial disaster in U.S. history and having damaged peoples lively hoods well beyond your borders. 6) Your electoral system is based on who can raise the most money and employ the best spin doctors. It has nothing to do with the quality of the candidates.

      • Paul Trood

And by the way Obama, a man that has achieved nearly nothing of importance in his life is set to continue the destruction of both your dollar and your lifestyle. He is a product of Wall Street having been groomed for at least 2 decades by the people that really hold the power. He has reneged on nearly ALL of his pre-election promises and is a true narcissist. If I were you I would take Bob’s advise and buy gold and silver for in the not to distant future your Fiat money will be worthless and all you may be left with is Martial Law and the collapse of society as you know it.

      • Jim

Well i didn’t vote for the man, so don’t blame me. I think many people got caught up with Obama because he is the first African American to have areal chance of being elected President of the United States. What’s bad about it is that he is a first-term Senator inthe U.S. Senate and served only a term or two in the Illinois State Senate. he is way underqualified to be President.
The Democratic party would have done better to run Joe Biden for president and Barack Obama for Vice-President. Obama is not old enough, experienced enough, or wise enough to be President of the U.S. And by the way, I am a Democrat, but a conservative Democrat. I believe in fiscal responsibility, strong national defense, and helping out the little guy.
I do not like many of Obama’s policies, which tend toward socialism.

      • Paul Trood

Jim I am not blaming you in any way. And yes I am an Australian but I have little respect for the Queen as she contributes nothing to the culture and progression of Australia, she is basically a figurehead.
All the freedoms you mentioned you enjoy, since 9/11 have been slowly eroded by the Bush regime, the warrant less wire tapping, the recording and selective analysis of all emails, the ability of police to enter your home and detain you without charge etc, etc are not the attributes of a free society, they are those of a totalitarian regime. Yes terrorism is a threat ,but these changes to your personal liberties were created on lies and distorted intel to suit the agenda of a deeply corrupt administration. NONE of this applies in Australia with the exception of 75% of international calls into and out of Australia are scanned for key words, but by who? CIA staff based at an American facility at Pine Gap near Alice Springs. A facility that no Australian including the Prime Minister has complete access to. This facility was built in the days of the Apollo missions for communication but is now used to control spy satellites in regards to North Korea, China and others.
But I digress, in regards to your politics I am neither pro Democrat or Republican as other than some minor philosophical differences they basically are the same. EG. When the Democrats got control of the Senate after years of berating the administration over Iraq did they cut off the supply of money to fund this abhorrent war, no the status quo remained. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
Jim what I really believe is that America and the American people have been hijacked, not by their governments, not by their bearocracies, but by a group of very powerful internationalists, that’s sole purpose is to control and subjecate the people to create the kind of world THEY invision. These global elite want, one Central Bank, one world currency, which in effect would give them absolute power over the people of the world. Conspiracy theory maybe, but there is ample evidence that this agenda is real.
It’s on the record that Kissinger and Brezinski have espoused the merits of this structure.
Jim a little on me , I am a 50 year old airline captain that holds a law degree and a professorship in applied mathematics. Just so you know I am not an unintelligent man.
I am exstremely concerned with what is happening in the world at present and hold real fears that the possibility of a total monetary collapse may occur in the near future. Fiat money can only last so long and the Fed’s policy of just printing more is a fatal mistake and they must know this. Which means there is a plan in place that we are totally oblivious to.
Bob’s recommendation of buying gold and silver is in my view the best advice he has given to date.
        All the best.

      • Anna in Kentucky

Jim, America will be fascist. Pick up a Bible and open it to the Book of Revelation. If you have trouble understanding it, check out John Hagee’s website. America will not be exempt from the chaos. We will be playing right along with the Anti-Christ. When you have to get a microchip implanted in the back of your hand or your forehead in order to simply buy food you will see.

      • Jim

Well Anna, many people over the years have predicted the coming of the anti-Christ. I have been teaching computer science since 1980 and studying it since 1971 and have never come across a technology in which humans have microchips implanted in them. In the U.S. dogs and cats are chipped so their owners can be located if the dogs or cats are found loose on the street. Let’s suppose that some gov’t official announced that you did need a chip in your hand or forehead in order to buy food? What do you suppose the American people would do about it? My guess is they would shoot the bastard. I am quite familiar with the Bible, both KJV and Catholic ( I converted to Catholicism in the early 1990s, having studied to be a minister ( born-again ) in the early ’80s. Before you listen to anyone making predictions about the end of the world, take a really good look at who that is, and whether or not they have their hand in your wallet. Non-denominational churches accept all denominations, especially $20s, $50s and $100s.

      • John

“Why do you think people from every nation on earth come to the U.S. ? They are fleeing the kind of tyrrany that the founding fathers of the U.S. fought against”

That’s not why they come. They come for the free handouts which is helping to break this great country. What they don’t realize is they will be staved out just like us in the coming years.

The government has threatened to keep the money we earned and paid for our retirement. They’ve already spent it so they would have to tighten their own belts to pay it back. Do you think they will??

  • Abram

“Seems to me like the judge didn’t interpret the law in that way.” More then likely they interpreted the law, according to, what I always thought, was the origin of the income tax. A tax institututed to fight the 1st World War, **”The 16th Amendment states, “The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.” Legislation that was never ratified by the majority, but on February 25, 1913, “Secretary of State Philander Knox , simply declared it to be “ineffect”, but never stating it was lawfully ratified. The U.S. Supreme Court rejected any claims that the 16th Amendment changed the constitutional limits on direct taxes in Brushaber v. Union Pacific R.R. Co., 240 U.S. 1, when they ruled that it “created no new power of taxation” and that it “did not change the constitutional limitations which forbid any direct taxation of individuals”. ” http://www.thelawthatneverwas.com/new/ratification.asp

  • Joe

I find it hard to believe that the “common” person could ever get by with what the “elite” can.

I will soon be 59 years old, and “for the first time in my adult life”, I am not proud of my country. This is insanity and frightening at the least.

Over 51% of the electorate have now figured out that they can suck their existance from the rest of us tax payors. I was raised a democrat, turned republican in the late 70′s and now I’m just plain angry.

Something must be done and soon, or there will not be anything left.

    • Jim

Well, there’s nothing to be frightened about. When the brilliant people we elect to Congress or the House of Representatives do foolish things with our hard-earned tax dollars, we can vote them out of office. In light of the recent financial scandal, I think they are headed in the right direction. Jail the “ponsy” scheme guy and his entire family, sieze their assets, and get everyone who was responsible for the mess at AIG. By God, there has to be accountability at some point in the process.

  • Lynne Van House

If you ALREADY have a Social Security card–and you ALREADY have filed an employee deduction form anywhere–they have you.
You have already agreed to “voluntarily” pay income taxes!
SOOO–this voluntary tax is like a giant snake throat–lots of teeth pointing down. Easy slide down the throat, almost NEVER get to back up!
WE mostly can’t do this–only kids who are born and their parents do NOT get them a card ever–will not have to comply.
My mother never had a SS card until my Dad died–then she HAD to get one, to collect his SS death benefits. She never paid into SS, or ever filed a 1040—-and Dad did.
With all the emphasis on getting a kid “identified” as soon as it is born–not very many at all are qualified to defy this anymore.
Can we start a movement for our kids? It’s the only legal way.

    • Jim

I’m pretty sure it’s mandatory to have a Social Security Card as identity, if you are a U.S. citizen. It is used for evrything from getting a bank account to applying for loans, registering for college, and using public libraries. The requirements have changed soemwhat because of the Patriot Act, but I know it has always been required for selective service for the military.

One way to make sure all Americans feel good about their Representatives and Government officials is to demand that all Officials be audited, not by the IRS, who is on their payroll, but independent auditors and the results published for all to see. Let’s finally find out if our Officials are trustworthy or just in it for the buck.

  • TeresaE

Have to wonder why the Survivor winner Richard (somebody) received 10 years in federal prison for tax evasion if there are no laws forcing us to pay taxes.

Seems to me like the judge didn’t interpret the law in that way.

    • http://same J. Eugene Wilson

Even those who argue in court against the taxes usully lose(but not always) because a hanging judge will be assigned to try your case. This makes it impossible to obtain a fair trial and it seems that there is no way for you to win.

      • Bill

Isn’t that why we have an appeals system?

  • http://donthaveone Mark

Because you cant beat Uncle Sam. Rooselvelt implemented income tax as a temporary fix to raise money for the World War. Once the government saw how much money it was bringing in, it remained. Any place you work will not allow you to not have taxes taken out, so some people do things like claiming 18 dependants. Now your in trouble, because you broke federal law by lying on your tax returns. But Federal income tax was never ratified, never made a law, but in the current system there is no way out of it, because the lawyers, judges, and government are all in cahoots together, and going up against them, even though they are clearly in violation of law, you cant beat them. However, looking at it on a Godly level, the scriptures do say, “if the government says pay taxes, then pay taxes”. So I would interpret that, that if we dont pay the taxes we are told to pay, that we are going against God’s word, and I dont really want to box with him, because my arms arent long enough.

  • Jim

Federal Income tax has only been with us for about 100 years. It funds the military, police and fire departments, and the seemingly endless list of Federal Government departments which are not funded from other sources. the idea that the U.S. gets everything for free is ludicrous. What hardware company or steel mill would sell the U.S. tools or metals for tanks and aircraft without payment? They would quickly go broke. Go ahead, don’t pay your taxes. You will soon be living in Governemnt funded housing, behind locked prison doors. And if you are not enough of a patriot to pay for the military forces that defend you, why don’t you get the heck out of the U.S. and stay out.

  • phdpete

I wonder how many congressman and senators are caught up in the UBS offshore accounts. Al Capone went to jail for income tax evasion. You can bet 52,000 acounts have at least 1 million dollars per account. The money should be confiscated by the IRS and used to pay down the debt. Any elected officials on the list should be thrown out of office.

What do we expect of a country run by lawyers? Ever heard of the missing original 13th Amendment, that read:

“If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive, or retain, any title of nobility or honor, or shall, without the consent of Congress, accept and retain any present, pension, office or emolument of any kind whatever, from any emperor, king, prince, or foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States, and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under them, or either of them.”

This would, among other things, make it illegal for attorneys (Esquire) to hold office, wouldn’t it? Possibly would prevent foreign ownership of banks or land, and NAFTA might be illegal. I’m no Constitutional law expert, but it seems this could free us from the establishment of lawyers and bankers that currently have a stranglehold on us all.

A certified copy of the Constitution from the State of Maine Archives, dated 1825, shows this amendment. It appeared in official state and territorial documents until 1868, when the Colorado Territory printed a copy of the US Constitution with this Amendment in it. There is some dispute over whether the Amendment was ratified, but given the great benefit it could provide us, it seems worthwhile to pursue it. http://www.uhuh.com/constitution/am13-fgd.htm

I’m 76 years young, retired military, and really can’t understand why the younger generation cannot see that our total system of life is being destroyed from the foundation up.
The youngsters seem to think that it’s the government that should provide for them now that they have left the nest. They “need” free college tuition, “need” increased minimum wage, “need” free medical care etc. etc. etc. Not realizing that this is called Socialism, and the more you get from government, the more individual control you give to government. And someone that filled their own needs by hard work and careful control of their assets, will end up paying for it.

For those Christians who read the Bible. Render unto Ceaser what is Ceaser’s. The first question we should ask is what is Ceasers? Does it not all belong to God? The next thing we as Christians should ask ourselves is who or what is the ruler in America? Is it the president or congress? Is it the people? What is the highest law of the land? I say it is the people who are the rulers and the Constitution is the highest law of the land. If the president and congress extort money from you it is no different than a thief with a gun extorting money from you. Resisting such extorton is not against God’s Word. Read deeper and understand how our country was formed and try to understand we as a country are ruled by laws and those are the laws God instituted for America. Presently we have criminals running our lives. We must resist. God says to resit evil!

I guess I wouldn’t pay attention to the stock market if I was on the taxpayer retirement program with a guaranteed $3,000 a month at retirement for serving one-term in Congress.

  • Larry A. Hollis

I remember that decision, but there is one thing left for the people to do, and that is try and get enough people to fill the streets in Washington, demaining for Term Limits!!! If that could be done!!! Which I dought! You are so right about our rights as people to vote on anything other than what the Thugs in Washington Wants to shove down our throats. I suppose there is one thing we as the people can do, when their terms is up, turn the BUMBS out to pastures, REMEMBER THEM AS IF THEY HAVE YELLOW FEVER!!! When it comes time for Reelection!!! I’m not saying all of them are BUMBS, we do have a few that is trying to do a good job for the people

Actually it’s getting to where the people can vote on something in an election, and figure it’s going to happen.
But now more and more the people vote something in or out, and the special interest groups challenge it in court, and the law the people voted on is made null by some liberal judge.
Case in point the law in California regarding Gay Marriage is being challenged in court and may be deemed unconstitutional. Or Minnesota where Coleman won on election day, and it’s still in the courts being hashed out. Most people want the immigration laws to be enforced as written, which would solve the problem but special interests and liberal judges are against that, we are violating their civil rights if we hold illegal immigrants to the letter of the law.
And it goes on, and on, and on in the name of “Fairness”

  • Myron

Why would anyone pay 300 or so million dollars to achive a 400K job? Obama and all others prior to him ponied up the big ones. Power, control, golden parachute retirement,(the same as the execs they persecute in the hearings)and free lifetime healthcare.

  • http://donthaveone Mark

Well, according to the scriptures, which I hold personally as God’s word to us, it says “all authority on earth is placed there by God, so therefore abide in it”. So to me, if I am under authority placed by God, then so be it, because they are legally elected government officials. Now if we had an illegal government, say some group came in here and did a military hostile take over like in some 3rd world countries, then no, I would not be compelled to follow their instructions, as they would be an illegitimate government. In so far as ours being a legal government, therefore placed there by God, them taxing us is illegal according to the laws they have set up, but the repercussion of going against it isnt worth the penalty you will have to pay. If it would be a sin to not pay it, I dont really know. On the surface, it appears to be going against Gods word, but them taxing us is illegal so Im blury on it, but I know I dont want to face them on it.

This is a great discussion about the legitimacy of The federal Income TAX
as it applies ( or doesn’t) to people living in a state and making moneythere.
Also, the reference to “rendering unto Caesor” has been often misquoted.
I would like all of us to realize that there are real laws and there are regulations and misinterpretations constantly given by the IRS. As of today
and because of US Supreme Court decisions given both before and after
so-called ratification of The 16th Amendment, someone working in a private
non-federal occupation makes no income or wages as defined both by The
US Supreme Ct. and by the IRCode. On the other hand, as others have said
here in this discussion , because the Tax has been foisted upon us and
because we have unwittingly volunteered to be taxed many corrupt forces
have combined against the common people to the point that most continue to volunteer payment. For the full story of perhaps the world’s greatest hoax

The Bible says “render unto Caesar (The Gov’t.) that which is Caesar’s”. I believe this means give Caesar nothing, but one can not say, “give Caesar nothing” without incuring the wrath of Caesar (The Gov’t), therefore, “render unto Caesar (The Gov’t.) that which is Caesar’s”.

I agree with Bob Livingston. If you (TeresaE) find it very unlikely to impossible to believe Bob, then do your own research on the web or in the library. Read Black’s law definition of Income, now and what it was 50 years ago ( of course you’ll have to find an old copy).

Federal Income Tax has only been around since the 30s. Research the creation of money and you will learn that the Government creates money out of thin air. So when it pays for things it is indeed ” not paying for them” . Local taxes pay for fire and police not Federal taxes. Many people don’t pay federal or in some states State income tax. Most are self imployed. The reason is their is no law requiring one to pay. It’s true. But your employer is not going to put his business on the line to test this theory.
If your taxes go to pay for abortions, foreign enemies and dictators, to indoctrinate children to the socialist agenda, to pay people to sit home and have too much time on their hands so they can do drugs, gamble ,sell drugs. should you, does God want you to pay taxes? Or are you part of the problem?

well its not about our military of course we love our military and we know we fund them praise GOD for this. These people are talking about a goverment that is supposed to be for our people but they take more than they give, we are talking about a goverment that breaks thier own laws and gets by with it and punishes us if we break them.We are talking about a goverment that says they are going to war for this reason and we find out later how many people got rich off it and it wasnt even the real reason they told us they were going for. If by your wildes dreams you cant see what this goverment really does behind our backs or you are not willing to see the truth for what it is then you are the one that needs to ask GOD for guidence. GOD bless you

  • fred

Sorry anyone believing paying taxes is legal and commendable is not correct.
Further, the taxes do not fund anything of value like the military. As Bob Livingston has stated

the tax was created to regulate an economy flooded with Federal
Reserve Notes which are debts created out of thin air. In fact, when you
sigh your check for taxes and it comes back you will notice that the funds
have gone to guess who, The Illlegal and Unconstitutional Federal Reserve.

In truth you have been deceived into believing as most people have that
you are doing your patriotic duty to support the government by paying
“your taxes” Please get educated and quit trying to put a guilt trip on those who have superior knowledge and who have been willing to stick their necks
    out by following the law.

    Blockquote
We do have responsibilities to maintain our federal gov’t. But, our gov’t has extended far beyond what the constitution allows. The federal gov’t's roles are 3-fold – 1. To defend against enemies foreign or domestic. 2. regulate inter- and intra-state trade and 3. treaties with other nations.

At what point do we say enough is enough? Is a tax revolt in order? How can we rein in this ever increasing encroachment of the federal gov’t? We do have the power to vote members of Congress out of office. But, please show me where we have responsibly voted in the past several years and when has Congress acted responsibly to the citizenry. The Congress works for us NOT the other way around.

  • Mike

The federal income tax doesn’t even cover the interest on the national debt anymore. Two-thirds of what the government collects comes from tariffs and, of course, just printing it. Consider the words of Congressman Ron Paul:

"Strictly speaking, it probably is not necessary for the federal government to tax anyone directly; it could simply print the money it needs. However, that would be too bold a stroke, for it would then be obvious to all what kind of counterfeiting operation the government is running. The present system combining taxation and inflation is akin to watering the milk: too much water and the people catch on."

It is interesting that the top sponsors of fairness and equality in the government are the very ones that are the most unfair, unjust, and self-focused people in America.
What caught my attention is the fact that 1/3 of the Democratic Presidential Cabinet appointees did not pay taxes until nominations became evident.

You better believe that the government leadership now defines ‘reaching out to the other side’ as ‘I will listen to you then do what I planned anyhow’ and that campaign promises (many broken already) were just to gain power and control and money. Campaign, “my administration will not have any earmarks” (only 9000 payoffs)”. “I will support Israel” (until elected then I will give much money to Hamas so they can destroy Israel). “I respect the sanctity of life” (later I will spin life as those who want good health with stem cell research and kill babies even after they come out of the womb if not wanted by the mother – there is a lot of money potential here).

Campaign: “No more politics as usual!” (More than usual – let’s control the airways, discredit people that disagree, control companies more tightly, federalize health care, banking, and control every facet of your life — God I love lobster and steaks, give dribble to the low life and they will love me – tell them you care, sponsor your ethnicity, talk smooth, use rederic and the fools will follow you anywhere)

You don’t think these are elitists that just want to steal money and empower themselves and make people dependent upon them (throw a crumb and win a heart) —- think with your mind not emotions and start depending on God not Big Brother!!!!!!

  • Ed

    Fred,
After reading all of the comments other than yours, I come to the conclusion that
the average US citizen is brain dead as were the French citizens before they
entered their period of enlightenment and thus, the French revolution. All Federal
tax money does go to the Federal Reserve which was not ratified by all of the
existing States and is Illegal as you have stated. They control the money supply
and any Country that does not own its currency is doomed. The Reserve creates
money out of thin air and loans it to the Government to be paid back with interest from Federal income taxes which is also Illegal.

Might I remind the commentators that quoted from the Bible, that Jesus turned the tables over on the money changers in the temple and for that act alone, he was nailed to the cross. Wake Up America, the same money changers are in total control of your destiny. Do you courage to overturn the tables!!

  • David

The US currency was backed by gold until 1970-1971 when Richard Nixon took us off the gold standard. Until that time the money supply was extremely stable. Since that time it (money supply) has risen and fallen occasionally until very recently when it rose drastically- and still is because the government is flooding the market with paper money backed only be a promise f the US government to make the note, i.e paper money, good. The gold standard kept inflation low, and the government from over printing paper money, thus keeping the US dollar at a stable solid value as there is only so much gold in the world, and the US Treasury has/had the largest stash of it.

In today’s economy with the government flooding the economy with paper money I fear the value will erode quickly and we’ll see inflation rise dramatically. The financial markets understand that well and have reacted to the flooding of the markets with paper money by retreating into safer investments. You now have government competing with private enterprise to get the same dollar factories and other businesses need to operate. With the US government promising to make good on the debt it incurs, that makes the US a better quality borrower than private business- for now and causes private business to pay a higher price to borrow the same dollar via higher interest rates, as no private business has the ability to generate money at will as does the federal government.

You and I as US citizens need to pay very close attention to what the “new” administration is doing to our future, our children;s future and their children’s future by providing this baseless “stimulus”.

  • Abram

I am very happy to know, and expound truth Fred, as I read your posts of a like mind. The Light of peace, the guide of this nation, enabling a diverse population to peacefully live, and work together of one purpose, placed that trust in “The People”. The public, this Republic, who, knowing the needs of their localities, acted of themselves to provide for those needs, of the abilities in their hands. A public passionate about creating, maintaining, and protecting, that which made them capable of living, and supplying themselves for future prosperity. Peace of mind, body, and soul, that can only be achieved with a people seeing, and choosing to use their resources to create, protect, that which furthers their abilities. The tax issue, which began as a people, united to fight actions of war, which put limitations on that ability, has become an ability of government representation, powers of faction, to choose just who gets what, and how much. A bloodless civil war, in, and of itself, instituted around theoretic legislation that has never solved its intended purpose.

Andy: the speed limit signs say 35 MPH, and even though they do not spell out red cars, white cars, green cars, it is understood to include ALL cars.

In the Biblical context from which this quote was taken, the reference was to payment of taxes. If taxes are owed to the government, in that case Caesar who represented the Roman government, pay them. Further, his likeness was stamped on the coins of the day. He, for Rome ruled the land. A tax was implemented to cover the expense of the Roman occupation and running government functions. The Jewish people- as did citizens of all occupied lands- resented payment of Roman imposed taxes- often with good cause other than just being that of being occupied. Dishonest tax collectors over taxed the people, who in turn had no recourse and kept the excess taxes collected themselves.

Jason: your remarks obviously rated no response. I just enjoyed pointing that out. One day all will be found out to be truth or lie. I’d prefer to err on the side I believe to be true.

Answer me this: Does a car require an engineer to create it or did it just happen? Of course it required an engineer to create each component, it is a complicated piece of machinery. Yet you non-believers would assert that a human being- whose body is far more complex than a man-made machine just happened? It is easier to believe in God. Mathematically it is provable that Intelligent Design occurred, not just happened. The “big bang” was God’s voice. The creation story is not so far fetched when you look at it scientifically and logically.

The trouble is people like you are looking for some far too complex explanation, your minds can not fathom such a thought as a living “God” did all of creation, placing the earth just so far from the sun, made it’s surface to be 2/3 water covered, protected it with gases that both provide life for surface creatures and protection from the space radiation and more.

I can go on and on but I’m sure you do not want to be confused with facts so I’ll stop. Besides it is over your head and beyond your ability to absorb.

Actually a variety of taxes were imposed off and on throughout our history, with income taxes coming on board during the US Civil War. At times taxes were imposed to cover the cost of government projects, to wage wars or as was necessary to cover a given government expense. An income tax was first implemented in the civil war as a temporary tax to fund the war. There were no permanent taxes imposed until early in the 1900′s.

From Wikipedia: The first Federal income tax was imposed (under Article I, section 8, clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution) during the Civil War, then again in the 1890s, and again after the Sixteenth Amendment was ratified in 1913.

    and this clip:

    Early Federal income taxes

In order to help pay for its war effort in the American Civil War, the United States government imposed its first personal income tax, on August 5, 1861, as part of the Revenue Act of 1861 (3% of all incomes over US $800)[5]. This tax was repealed and replaced by another income tax in 1862.[6]

In 1894, Democrats in Congress passed the Wilson-Gorman tariff, which imposed the first peacetime income tax. The rate was 2% on income over $4000, which meant fewer than 10% of households would pay any. The purpose of the income tax was to make up for revenue that would be lost by tariff reductions.[7]

In 1895 the United States Supreme Court, in its ruling in Pollock v. Farmers’ Loan & Trust Co., held a tax based on receipts from the use of property to be unconstitutional. The Court held that taxes on rents from real estate, on interest income from personal property and other income from personal property (which includes dividend income) were treated as direct taxes on property, and therefore had to be apportioned. Since apportionment of income taxes is impractical, this had the effect of prohibiting a federal tax on income from property. The power to tax real and personal property, or that such was a direct tax, was not denied by the Constitution.[8] Due to the political difficulties of taxing individual wages without taxing income from property, a federal income tax was impractical from the time of the Pollock decision until the time of ratification of the Sixteenth Amendment (below).

    Ratification of the Sixteenth Amendment

In response, Congress proposed the Sixteenth Amendment (ratified by the requisite number of states in 1913[9]), which states:

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

I would note the Democrats imposed the first income tax, and it seems to be impossible for them to stop wanting to add more taxes every since.

Interestingly enough Mr. Paul had millions attached to the $481 billion “stimulus” signed by Obama today as “earmarks” which means nobody questioned the need for the spending.

So much for “conservative” oversight and responsible spending by Mr. Paul. he like his counterparts just bought re-election votes.

  • David

Remarkably the below sounds not too unlike some politicians of today. Who is Geithner? A tax evader, until he was brought into the public eye. Daschle same thing. Old regime Democrats. They love imposing taxes on others but not themselves. How do you “forget” to pay income taxes?? They come due the same time annually.

Here is some info I located on Capone:

The popular belief in the 1920s and 30s was that illegal gambling earnings were not taxable income. However, the 1927 Sullivan ruling claimed that illegal profits were in fact taxable. The government wanted to indict Capone for income tax evasion, Capone never filed an income tax return, owned nothing in his own name, and never made a declaration of assets or income. He did all his business through front men so that he was anonymous when it came to income. Frank Wilson from the IRS’s Special Intelligence Unit was assigned to focus on Capone. Wilson accidentally found a cash receipts ledger that not only showed the operation’s net profits for a gambling house, but also contained Capone’s name; it was a record of Capone’s income. Later Capone’s own tax lawyer Lawrence P. Mattingly admitted in a letter to the government that Capone had an income. Wilson’s ledger, Mattingly’s letter, and the coercion of witnesses were the main evidence used to convict Capone.

The jury found Capone not guilty on eighteen of the twenty-three counts. Judge Wilkerson sentenced him to a total of ten years in federal prison and one year in the county jail. In addition, Capone had to serve an earlier six-month contempt of court sentence for failing to appear in court. The fines were a cumulative $50,000 and Capone had to pay the prosecution costs of $7,692.29.

    Thanks June,
I’ll do it tomorrow. I never bothered because all I ever get in return from the House and Senate are their FORM letters.
    June Y,

  • hiway280z

Mine got sent back with a new address. I sent to that one and the computer said it didn’t exist. Seems obama does not want to hear from us.

  • hiway280z

I agree. They have over the years made Washington their personal cash cow and taken our money to do it. After four years they get their full pay in retirement. Now I understand that was changed to two years. They move on to another washington job and get the same for that one. on and on…..They should be paid like we are get the same benefits as the average joe and when they leave it stays behind unless they pay for their health ins or what ever like we do. I am fed up.

  • hiway280z

Bill Gates is an excellent example. Very rich, lives very well and I do not begrudge him that. He has given big money to charity and people in need. Every disaster we have in our country the man sends millions of dollars of his money to help. He never made all his giving public. As a youth he always said if he was rich he would help people and he certainly has. No one in Washington comes close to being what this man is.

  • June Gagnon

It’s ok – -all you will get is the “acknowledgment”, or “form letter”. At least you know they got your message and that’s what counts. Keep sending email to: president@whitehouse.gov and ignore the other address his “correspondence team” refers you to, because it does not exist. If you can afford to fax, or phone them that is even better and do not let any of the arrogant air-heads “talk down” to you. If any of them want to “lace you with profanity”, just make sure you get their name (s), then send a letter to the editor of your local newspaper stating what occurred. The word will spread and that’s exactly what we want. The sooner the rest of American voters know exactly what’s going on in DC, the better. Come 2012 elections, that whole bag of bad apples will be thrown out of there!

  • June Gagnon

Of course, he doesn’t want to hear from us “common folk”- -after all, it’s only our money he’s throwing away. It’s ok- -re-read that email you got back and I bet it was an “acknowledgment” from his “correspondence team”. Just keep sending your emails to : president@whitehouse.gov and ignore the other address they refer you to, because it does not exist. If you can afford to phone, or fax them, that is even better. Be sure to get the name of the individual you talk to; if he/she wants to be an arrogant air-head and talks down to you, or if they lace you with profanity (this has occurred in at least one instance), keep your composure and don’t succumb to their tactics. When you’re finished with them, write a letter to the editor of your local paper, stating exactly what occurred. This way, the word will spread, far and wide. By the time 2012 elections roll around, every American voter will know exactly what’s going on in DC; I can almost guarantee that whole bag of bad apples will be thrown out! Go get um!!

  • hiway280z

got your reply and thank you. Will do exactly as you suggested. I don’t get nasty back at them. Hopefully since people are paying more attention since this last election they will wake up as to what is going on. Thanks again for the information. very helpful and appreciated.

Good point Ham! Yes, we the people have been lied to, and raped and pillaged by the corrupt politician. We need to form an underground organization to establish a revolt. And we better do it soon for reasons I can’t go into too much detail herein. I believe Jesus said to pilot ” you have no authority over me!” prior to his most brutal beating and inhumane abuse!

Additionally, many male citizens and probably non citizens of America have been located in Somolia, Africa. And the reason, Islamic urban warfare training!

  • aman

It’s coming Dan. The scuttle butt lately is that the coming summer 2009 will be the summer of rage!

  • aman

Martha, I too share your anger. Hopefully, we the people will prevail! Just a heads up, the United States is already in a depression. Wall Street is planning on throwing us investors a bone to re-establish our lost wealth. Obama bin Biden want’s to confiscate that wealth. Here’s why things are going to hell in a hand basket. How do you possibly pay a national debt of over ten trillion dollars??? The interest alone makes the United States insolvent. Furthermore, there isn’t enough trees to print all that fiat. Here’s a model. A base tree with dimension 30″ diameter and 75′ tall after preparation and processing is able to produce 100, 100 dollar bills per foot or 10,000 dollars a foot. Times 75 is 750,000 dollars! That’s more than 13 million trees!

    Hi Phil
Thank you for quoting The Constitution . It is supposed to serve as the basis for
judging all other laws and Court decisions are supposed to abide to reflect it
in judging any law as to whether it conforms. Most will agree that the judiciary
when judged by that standard has failed miserably and has in fact, been corrupted..
Many have wondered how best to throw off the yoke of an unrighteous government when public officials and a corrupt and controlled press will
not aid us. Yes, if the people would seriously organize with the conviction
and dedication of our early founders we would have a chance for a peacable
solution to this tyranny. I am thinking that it is much easier to organize at the
local level by influencing more local officials like the County Sheriff who could be held much easier to a Constitutional standard through our close control by demanding that he expel or punish federal or state empoyees or officials who violate our Constitutional rights.

County grand juries could be convened to issue criminal complaints against
such offenders. Currently about half the states have proposed Resolutions
which in effect condemn overreaching and unconstitutional federal laws or
mandates by reasserting both the 9th and 10th Amendments wherein is
found the basis for the people and the States controlling their own destinies
through the reservation of all the power not specifically granted to The Ferderal
    Government(which is little).
The real problem as I see it is that the states have been threatened and bribed
into accepting federal funding for so many federal programs that they do not know how to reject them. We need to start electing local and state representatives who can honestly look a gift-horse in the eyes and say sorry,
the price is too high. Does this mean starting all over? In my opinion, PROBABLY, because our current system is so rotten to the core that our Founders wouldn’t even recognize it.

Maybe members could discuss the how to’s on this or another thread. What
    do you think, Bob Livingston?

You are correct in only some of your conclusions about the
Word Of God. If you were correct in all that doesn’t mean that
there is no God. The truth of the matter is that although there are
different versions of The Bible, if you have read from let’s say
The King James Version, and if you sincerely pray to The God
in whose image you were created (give it a try before you dismiss
the thought) you will realize that God has always communicated to
people (lets call you and I and others, his children for sake of argument)
through his prophets who recorded his instructions on parchment or other
materials which were organized and left for us as His Scriptures.

Why, so that while we lived on the earth we could be guided by principles
of righteousness, things like Love Thy Neighbor, help the poor, be charitable
and the like. True, while some of the Scriptures may have been rearranged
or left out or even corrupted or imitated by someone on Satan’s side, this does
not mean that we cannot be governed by what He has to say to us. If we become
confused He has provided for that through His many promptings that if we will
sincerely take the time and put forth the effort we can know the truth of all things
and we will be able to discern truth from error.
Looking at it in the way don’t you think it would be a grave mistake to conclude
as you have that what we call scriptures are man made and fraudulent. As a human being you are choice and not here on this earth by accident. No, you
were put here to grow and to progress, to find happiness and peace.
I sincerely hope that you will find all of these and that by putting the things I have mentioned to the test, you will in the future conclude that God is real and will have
a further desire to discover and walk in His ways.

You may not know it but when we critcise non-believers
as you have by demeaning them or implying that they are stupid or
beyond reaching, they run further away. Every person sent to the earth
has much value. Than k God that Paul, who was as unrighteous at one
time in his life as anyone mentioned in The Bible, was able to overcome
his shortcomings to become one of the greatest forces for good during
    those times.
It is true that for many they try to make accepting God far more complex
than it is but that doesn’t mean that someone will not come along to show
    them the way.
I am sorry if I have offended you in any way. Maybe you are just angry with the things that are happening out there and you just had to vent. Anyway we should
all be careful how we speak to others even those now trying to persecute us.
Now that is really hard to do and I will admit that i have a lot of anger built up
inside against traitors and those opposing freedom.

    Hi David
After the 16th Amend. The Sup Ct. held in the famous
Brushaber case that the Amendment could not have been
passed for the purpose of expanding the power of the Federal
Gov’t to include monies received by those living in the states
because this would have created two conflicting tax authorizing
provisions. so the Court held that any direct taxes still had to be
apportioned as is The House of Reps is, ie, by population.

After this the IRS got mad and since that time has called the Income tax
an excise, not needing to be apportioned, but has run int problems with
that premise because an excise must normally be levied on a priviledge,
such as a federal job or must be exacted on alcohol, tobacco or firearms.
But, by fraud and propaganda through the media and through a force of
“trained CPA’s and lawyers” they have convince the great majority living
in the states that they must “volunteer” for the tax.
My point here is that the 16th does not furnish the basis for a legitimate
income tax on a n on-priviledged person living in a state.
Sound complicated? Visit losthorizons.com for great detail on the subject.

If you work inthe U.S. or any of its territories, there are four taxes that the employer is required to take out of gross pay. they are:

FICA Federal Insurance Contribution Act tax
    FUT Federal Unemployment Tax
    SUT State Unemployment tax
    SSI

Of these, some states do not have SUT but instead have a “value added tax”
which is used for the same purpose as SUT, that is to pay state unemployment compensation in the event that a resident of that state becomes unemployed.

My advice is to pay your taxes. if you don’t you can bet that you will be audited
by the Fed and maybe your state a well.

  • Marjorie

Small correction: FUT is not deducted from the employee’s check, it is paid entirely by the employer. Ditto State unemployment tax. That’s not an “either/or” scenario, both are paid. Of the FICA, half is deducted from the employee’s check and half is paid by the employer. Part of this goes to your “retirement” account and part to medicare/medicaid. There is currently a cap on the income that can be taxed for these FICA and Medicaid accounts, but the bamster is about to change that, I fear. And we aren’t even mentioning workman’s comp “contributions” that are paid by the employer based on gross wages. The big one not included in this list is the FIT (federal income tax) which is 100% taken from the employee and can be modified somewhat by dependants claimed and the EIC. You have to fill out a form for this and sign your name to it, so it might not be a good idea to fudge your figures. And, look up, you are about to get taxed for any insurance premium that your employer pays for you and any charitable contributions that you formerly deducted will be taxable. You think only the “rich” will get an increase in their taxes? Think again. If the fed can go against the Constitution and impose a 90% tax on the AIG bonus payments (which they approved), they can do it to you too, and more. This country is in DEEP trouble.

  • CPA,EA,MBA

The unemployement taxes do not come out of your gross pay. Employers are required to pay them on behave of the employee – the employee does not and will not have these taxes come out of their wages. Those unemplyement taxes are only paid up to a certain amount of compensation as well.

FICA is actually composed of social security and medicare which has to be reported seperatly to the IRS

  • Marjorie

FYI, Jesus was not crucified because he overturned the tables of the money changers. At that time the law (God’s law, not man’s law) required that a sacrifice be offered at the temple for the forgiveness of sins. This was supposed to be an animal from the individuals’s own herds and was to be perfect, unblemished and the very best that he had, not some sick or maimed thing that would be easy to give up. He had to be giving up something of real value, thus indicating his sincerity in the process. This practice had to be repeated annually. What the people were doing, when they went to the temple, instead of bringing the best from their own herd to sacrifice, they were buying the animal from vendors that had set up business at the temple. No big sacrifice on their part, to be sure, and Jesus saw it, got righteously indignant and put an end to it, commanding that they not make the temple a house of merchandise. The government at the time didn’t fear his turning out the moneychangers, but they did see his popularity with the people and feared that they would lose their power over them.

Fortunately, with Christ’s sacrifice, we no longer have to do the animal sacrifice, but just trust in Him. HE is that perfect lamb, the only sacrifice that is acceptable to God. If you reject His gift, this world we are living in now, as bad as it is becoming, is a cake walk compared to what awaits.

  • Jim

Yes but some taxes are matched dollar for dollar. One dollar comes from the employer, one dollar comes from the employee. And there is a lot of difference in state law as well, if you’re in a “right to work” state or an
“at will” employee. In my state ( PA ) some years back, I found out I was not eligible to collect unemployment, yet my employer was taking unemployment tax out of my gross pay. So I made them give me the money. Its my money afetr all, and you can’t deduct from my pay for a benefit that I cannot receive.

  • Jim

Well the difference is, when you were young this was a different country. People worked for what they had, and didn’t expect the Government to pay for everything.
Then different groups of people decided they were entitled to free benefits from the Government ( as a veteran who served our country you are entitled to VA benefits under the GI Bill ). Communications and financial transactions occur instantly in today’s world, and ths has led us into the “Me” generation. I want it all, i want it now is the mindset of many young people today. In this country we are conditioned to think that if we don’t have a $500,000 house and 2 Cadillacs in the garage, we are doing something wrong. Our Government grants scholarships to America’s brightest and best students, and also offers low-cost loans so that students who otherwise couldn’t afford college can now afford to go to college. They pay the loans back. My daughters will both go to college in part on scholarship money, whcih they earned through hard work. My oldest, a senior in high school, will have completed her first year of college before she graduates high school. In my 29 years in higher education I have seen thousands of foreign students go to college in the U.S., having been given a full ride by their government. Why shouldn’t the U.S. do the same? We can, as a nation, afford it.

  • Jim

Oh yeah, Winston Churchill. He was brilliant, but he was a SUBJECT of a KING,
not a CITIZEN of a republic.

  • Jim

This one is not part of the ten commandments. But it really doesn’t matter.
What does matter is what the United States Tax Code says.

  • klhpraise

Jesus said render on to Caesar that which is Caesar’s and render on to God that which is God’s. If it is illegal and unconstitutional for our government to collect taxes from us and so we decide not to pay them and we are able to successfully do so, then no it is not a sin to not pay those taxes.

  • Jim

The “execs” that are being “persecuted” managed ( or should I say mis-managed ) to erage over 10 Trillion dollars out of the U.S. economy. Do you really think these people shoud NOT be punished after nearly bankrupting over 80 million Americans?

  • Jim

That’s erase, not erage ( must be feeling the rage ).
