    Obama’s character is showing.

    • Carlucci

Yup, actions always speak louder than words and B.O. clearly is a hater of the American people. But what can we expect from a mooslim from Kenya?

      • independent thinker

I do not think Obama is a muslim I have come to believe he has no religion but hides behind the mantle of which ever religion suits his purpose at the moment.

        • TheOriginalDaveH

          His religion is psychopathy.

          • Deerinwater

I just wanted to see how far this rely would go ~ seeing no reason to interfere with a Lynch Mob in the performance of it bound duty with a roll of kite string.

          • ChiefBoring

It is all part of his diabolical plan. Close the WWII memorial while allowing illegals free run of the Mall. Block picture taking at Mt. Rushmore. Force tourists at Old Faithful back on their bus practically at gunpoint. Evict an old couple from their home because it is on federal land, but costs the government nothing. Close a privately owned historical farm, again because it is on federal land, also at no cost to the government. It is all done to frighten and inconvenience us. A website that doesn’t work after spending 634 MILLION DOLLARS to set it up. Now the drumbeat starts: “SINGLE PAYER! SINGLE PAYER!” That is what BHO has wanted all along. He and his minions think we are too dumb to see through all this. I pray they are in for a surprise.

    • pnwdave

      Or lack thereof.

  • Gilly from Australia

This article does show that either American workers are being only paid a food and lodging wage or American workers need a some good education on how to budget and put money aside for the yearly rainy days which come along about this time every year. Maybe other readers can enlighten me on the American way of employing people so they can even but their own food if they don’t get paid for a week? If this is a common problem throughout the USA then God bless America if all workers have the same problem and the landlords who would rely on all their government working wages to pay their own banks.

    • Mr Diesel

Yeah, unfortunately a lot of Americans buy only enough food to last a few days. We could probably stretch our supply 3 months easy and 6 by severe measures.

    • Mark Palmer

I fully agree with you! This country is in the [expletive deleted] due to Obamonamics. Some people have less than a week to poverty.

I have a wife with cancer, and a decent union job in a right to work state. Texas I don’t side with the union, and am ashamed that dolts in my union vote for this idiot. The people didnt learn from the mistakes the EU dummys made. I think Ausies are independent with the Xcept of gun control. They will take our weapons and then we will be off to their brand of care ( camps).

God save the democracy that saved most of the free world in the 20th century!

    • hippybiker

Gilly, most of these people are most likely minimum wage workers with no benefits of any kind. These are the people O-Bozo, in all reality is hurting.

      • independent thinker

Many, as the article hinted, are seasonal workers who would be looking for another job in 2-4 weeks anyway as the concessions close or cut back for the winter.

    • Deerinwater

That is very true Gilly ! They should have.

In defense ~ it’s been raining in the US for many years. ~ By 1991 most American’s were starting to maintain their life style with credit (Fantastic Plastic). That was their mistake, while most were hopeful things would turn around. They were encourage by leadership with lower Federal taxes and claims of job creating and growth. By 94 they were refinancing their homes . ~ By 98 it was not unusual for a lower middle class family with two incomes to be 75,000 in debit and still be making car and house payments.
By 99, young grad students with a 4 year degree, not married, working part time at minimum wage could be 30 grand in debit and that too was common.

American’s spent their saving as the cost of living or doing just about anything rose while wages shrank or stagnated ~Between local taxing authorities and wall street bankers, predatory lending, off shore accounts, out sourcing, global trade imbalances, white collar criminals , swindlers, and war profiteers maximized their take and profits while deferred and socialized their losses ~ we American’s have lost a lot of dry ground to stand on.

Today, the fed is being required to print money to keep our keel in the water ~ This has some of the small thieves, swindlers and confidence men, moaning the blues and looking for ways to shore up the inflation loss. ~ while the bigger and brighter thieves insist they should invest in heavy metals and willing to take their old worn out dollars for it.

It’s been a hell of a thing to witness Gilly. ~

Paying my house off in 96, ~ I was amazed by the number of family, friends and strangers that came a knocking on my door wanting to advise me in investing and refinancing. I decline their advise and their generous offers ~ and can now buy them for 10 cents on the dollar.

I may not have had much at the time, ~ but what I had was mine and I was not in debit and broke as the 10 Commandments.

I’m left to believe that my story is one of some exception.

  • gunnerv1

Question? Where do these worker’s/employee’s go when they are off duty?

    • Jimmy the Greek

They live there it’s to far from anywere to go back and forth every day .

      • gunnerv1

Then that makes the Employers responsible for their welfare by default

        • Deerinwater

You have not worked for most of the Employers I have, if you believe that to be true.

While it is true, ~ as you say ~ some employers accept the responsibility. ~ This “benevolence” is dictated by the abundance or sparsity of labor and the power of the dollar.

Aboard ship ~ meals and accommodation were always include and only when a crew was being recruited and commissioned might we enjoy a warm bed and staging location, as crew and team assembled from all over the world which might take days to gather with gear for a 45 day adventure at sea. The trip to and from was always on your dime and maybe your first night or two in some god forsaken place you couldn’t find on a map.

          • gunnerv1

True, I’ve only held two Jobs in my life, 21 years and 3 months in the US Navy, 4 years school and then another 21 years and 5 months at a “Big Ten” University.

    • Deerinwater

Logistically suited accommodation for lease or rent ~ an industry that caters to a selective housing and boarding market.

Rough necks, long longshoremen, the professional and Tradesman, the list is extreme long with people that depend on housing away from home.

The years that I worked offshore ~ I became acquainted with all the Gulf States “day lease housing”. Some nights I’d just ball up in the shrimp nets laying on the aft deck. After an hour pasts, the smell seems to disappear. ~ better than sleeping in the truck if the bugs aren’t too bad.

People that work and go home to sleep in their own bed every night ~ are for the most part clueless to this market and the stiff demand or the luxury they take for granted.

  • Kyright

These people were unaware they were going to be left astray. America, HOW MUCH MORE? I realize this monkey and his baboon want us to react but if this goes much farther, I’m not sure it will ever be turned back. Who would have thought this skinny twerp would be the one to take us down.

    • TheOriginalDaveH

He’s just the figurehead. We need to shrink Government dramatically so the Politicians can’t give special privileges to their Crony Capitalists.
      Abolish the alphabet federal agencies.
      Abolish the Federal Reserve.
      Abolish the 16th Amendment.
      Abolish the 17th Amendment.
      Abolish the UN.

  • mort_f

Just wonder how many of these workers were Obama voters, and if they understand who is really giving them the shaft.

    • Deerinwater

well ~ they are being told such things by some people for sure but few will swallow the story as you have.

Just another example of the disconnect to join the thousand of other disconnects perpetrated and promoted by the politically and socially dysfunctional minority that hold claim to advanced intellect and moral superiority by virtue of self proclaim righteousness.

      • terryk

We know who has drank the Obama coolade don’t we

PLEASE PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IN 2014! AND PLEASE PRAY FOR THE GOOD GUYS IN CONGRESS THAT ARE HOLDING THE LINE BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED ON EVERY S IDE!

Let this be a lesson, Folks. If Government isn’t allowed to run the National Parks, they can’t jerk us around when things aren’t as they want them to be.

    • Deerinwater

True , ~ so what wealth person or corporation would you enjoy seeing own and operate a National Park David?

      • terryk

deerinwatere How about placing control ofthe National parks under the state governments where they are located. Make sense

        • TheOriginalDaveH

The National Parks should indeed be given back to the states. But I’d still want to see Private Companies running them. The profit motive brings with it polite service and efficient management of assets.
The contracts would have to be of reasonable length but not too long.

      • TheOriginalDaveH

One who wins the bid fairly and publicly, with no aid from Crony Politicians, Deer.

This is just a taste of what the government can do to Americans when the government is not getting what they want. The Government has spend decades slowly growing with more power and and the American people have continued to let them get away with taking more and more and growing larger and larger. The government can take control and shut down all transportation, food and communication and energy sources via the executive orders that have been made over the years. Those of you that don’t know or haven’t heard of Agenda 21, REX84 or read any of the executive orders put in place for the purpose of taking control and shutting down. Folks you think shutting down parks and WWII memorials are tragic. They are just testing the waters to see the American response and to see how compliant the American people are going to be when they are faced with Government interfering with their life’s. I’ll also remind those who might have forgotten that though many people frowned on Bush’s “Patriot Act” and the Democrats and liberals screamed about how terrible it is, When Obama come on the scene, what did he do? He reaffirmed it not repeal it, not only did he re-affirm the Patriot Act but he added to it with the NDAA to include that American citizens can now be indefinitely detained and not just foreign citizens.

A trifle as measured by the glory of voting for him. Their lives for his glory, for the cause of progressivism. We know %90 of Federal workers voted for the pig in the WH, they did it out of ignorance, self preservation, ideology. Sadly many are quite young and purposely misled by our education system. I do feel badly for them but I wonder if they have thought about the rest of America suffering these 5 long years. Hitler exterminated his useful idiots after he finally took power. Nevermind that is ancient history like Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Amin, Hussein….. Forget about it.

  • pnwdave

I hope they make sure to send a great big thank you to the democrats in the Senate! And to obama.

That Tea Party would now wish to deny their protagonist role in planing and stage this government “shut -down” leaves no one in shock, dismay or surprise as deferring any and all guilt and blame has been crafted into an “advanced art form” that has no limits and knows no boundaries or shame.

      Want Proof?

WASHINGTON — Shortly after President Obama started his second term, a loose-knit coalition of conservative activists led by former Attorney General Edwin Meese III gathered in the capital to plot strategy. Their push to repeal Mr. Obama’s health care law was going nowhere, and they desperately needed a new plan.

House Republican Efforts to Repeal or Weaken the Health Care Law

DRIVING FORCES David Koch of Americans for Prosperity, Michael A. Needham of Heritage Action and former Attorney General Edwin Meese III played roles in the health law fight.

      Americans for Prosperity

SOWING DOUBT A site by Americans for Prosperity, which has spent $5.5 million recently on television ads critical of the health care law.

“Out of that session, held one morning in a location the members insist on keeping secret, came a little-noticed “blueprint to defunding Obamacare,” signed by Mr. Meese and leaders of more than three dozen conservative groups.

It articulated a take-no-prisoners legislative strategy that had long percolated in conservative circles: that Republicans could derail the health care overhaul if conservative lawmakers were willing to push fellow Republicans — including their cautious leaders — into cutting off financing for the entire federal government.

“We felt very strongly at the start of this year that the House needed to use the power of the purse,” said one coalition member, Michael A. Needham, who runs Heritage Action for America, the political arm of the Heritage Foundation. “At least at Heritage Action, we felt very strongly from the start that this was a fight that we were going to pick.”

A shut down means to not “spend” or commit to spending ~ the term “non essentials” means not absolutely imperative or necessary.

The Tea Party’s first goal in this concerted debacle has been achieved.

Congratulations! ~ may the “just rewards” of this half baked plan to resist a mandate find their rightful owners.
